Reviews of Misery Loves Co.
Mieko A Ozeki
We are over the moon for the newly renovated Misery Loves Co, bringing back inside and patio dining along with a marketplace. Took my daughter there for lunch. She had the kids chicken tenders and fries and I had the Fly By (a fried chicken sandwich) with their house made chips. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, light and flavorful. Went well with the Arnold Palmer on a hot day. My kid ate her meal and was delighted.
Looking forward to trying more dishes.

Ive heard nothing but good things since i got to Burlington and have wanted to get here. When i saw they had a roast beef sandwich special i knew i needed to try it. Naturally i biked from uvm in a snowstorm to get it. Was it worth it? Well the sandwich was fantastic, it had a great tangy flavor from the horseradish cream and arugula salad, not to mention it came on a excellent crusty baguette. That being said, it felt a little lacking in the meat department. The flavor/texture of the roast beef was lost in the bread and arugula. A 21$ sandwich should NEVER have that problem... This sandwich is close to greatness- just not all the way there.

Just picked up two Buffalo chicken sandwiches and some fries. Not very happy. Mine was undercooked (pink) and a huge piece of fat. The other one (not mine, of course) was perfect. Unfortunately, the flavor in the first few bites was so delicious and then I hit the cold pink center and almost lost it. I would have given only 1 star if the flavors weren’t so good. But man, be careful ordering the chicken sandwich…not good at all.

This place is SO CUTE! They have a ton of little gifts and household goods (like cards, stoneware dishes) and a good selection of foods to buy, both pre-made and grocery items. The food is also AMAZING, the aioli is to die for, I could just eat it plain with a spoon its so good! Great atmosphere, fast and friendly service. Will definitely come again!

The food and drinks were fantastic, however the wait between the time we were seated to the time we were served was over an hour. I understand the kitchen staff may have been busy, but maybe it's time to hire more folks? 5 stars for quality, and attentiveness, but 1 star lost for food prep time.
Heart Of the Village Inn
What a delightful place! Our experience at Misery was fantastic - a cozy setting, wonderful folks all around, and a fascinating variety of eclectic gourmet dishes. Everything we tried was perfect, truly a journey of the palate. Their Steak Tartare, Pheasant, and Pavlova are outstanding. Highly recommended!

Absolutely the BEST food we've had in a very long time. Misery is a definite MUST place to visit.
The food was excellent and so delicious. We sat overlooking the chefs preparing the dishes and it was a truly unique experience. The menu changes everyday as all meals ingredients are from local farmers (farm to table) and everything we tried was very flavorful and so mouth watering. The staff were really wonderful and engaging and ensured we were comfortable. It was a true culinary experience.

We had a wonderful experience with our meal for eight people celebrating my daughter’s graduation from UVM. The service was impeccable as was the food. We had the fish, fried chicken and vegetarian lasagna. The suggested wine was a perfect accompaniment to the fish. The in season asparagus and fresh baked bread were fabulous. We highly suggest dining here if you are in the area.

First trip back home to Burlington with my new girlfriend. There's opportunity to have one meal (lunch). Where do we go? Misery Loves Company. It did not dissappoint! The menu is creative, well executed and supported bby excellent cocktails and desserts. One of Vermont's finest restaurants!

Amazing and friendly staff who can give great recommendation for food or drink based on your preferences. Small venue, reservations are strongly recommended but walk-ins are welcome. Stopped here for dinner one night on the drive up to Montreal. I believe the menu rotates on a weekly basis. I will visit here again on future visits to the Burlington area!

Also delicious with great service. I appreciate Misery because they are always changing their menu so it's fresh. Both drinks and food are on point. I had a Winooski Sour which was what I'd expect from a sour but rarely get. Tuna tartare was also very good with their twist including capers and cheddar. Oyster special on The Happy Hours is excellent.

A few friends and I met at Misery Loves Co. in the Winooski traffic circle for brunch one Saturday. The restaurant opens at 10am on Saturday. They have a decent drink menu including group mimosa, bloody Mary's, and Irish coffee designed to share. They have a select, but delicious menu for brunch. We had a herbed crustless quiche, and fried chicken and waffles. The waffles were light, and fluffy; the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
MLC is a good place to meet friends and get brunch.

Their tater tots are out of this world! I would go there just for them..
French fries were okay. I thought their menu was a bit limited as far as variety.
Their homemade jams are pretty tasty I must say!
I can't say the price is worth some of the food, but again, I would go there for the tater tots!

Went in with my two kids because word of a great fried chicken is like an irresistible magnet to me. As a random tangent to the review, I take my kids to lots of places on the road and I'm always curious how a place will handle me walking in with my kids, and I have to say, though one lady seemed to glare at me continuously (could have been wrong though) the staff was excellent about that situation.
It's small and cozy, more grown up and romantic than a good spot for kids; however the kids are used to that situation and handled it fine, as did the staff, in particular our server, which was truly appreciated. There are high chairs and crayons magically appeared so they are clearly prepared for the situation. That being said, by virtue of it being small and cozy, I wouldn't take a young'n having a bad night in there as it would be uncomfortable for everyone.
Restaurant wise, this is an absolute must try. The fried chicken didn't disappoint, it is an absolutely solid traditional fried chicken. If you love fried chicken, well, there's is reason enough to visit. All the remaining food was delicious, in particular the hangar steak which was declared by the table as 'amazing.' My guess is you really couldn't go wrong here.
We had to bail quickly, nothing to do with the restaurant, but what a wonderful place. If you enjoy a restaurant experience and food done right, this is a must try.

Whoa that's all I can say. The cocktails are well made, well thought out tasty concoctions. The happy hour menu is small but you'll find something. Oysters are delicious and fresh. "My Uncle Oswald" is a delicious drink. Looks fru-fru but don't let it's looks fool you.
Dustin Glass
I have been here a few times and, overall, this place is great and probably worthy of 5 stars. However, I knock it down simply because the sides are very creative (as is the whole menu) but somewhat lacking (such as the charred carrots). Now... on to the good stuff... THE FRIED CHICKEN DINNER is amazing! The chicken is very crispy and flavorful while the large pieces of chicken are served with honey butter and 2 sides for $35. The sweet potato pasta appetizer was also great with a creamy savory sauce which complimented the slightly sweet al dente noodles perfectly. Also creative and good was the roasted brussel sprout appetizer served with pickled vegetables. Pretty good and interesting... "yes" but not a great app. Their beer/cocktail selection is also on point so it is definitely worth it to add a beverage to your meal.
Mark Poirier
Misery Loves Co. is one of my favorite restaurants to visit when in the Burlington/Winooski area. The small plates are innovative and fresh. The bar crafts unique cocktails and has a great beer / wine offering. Highly recommended!
Joanna Wright
Awesome little spot. Never been in here before and it was well worth the stop! Good vibes, great food, friendly staff.
Ken Liu
Friendly customer service and fried chicken sandwich is amazing and the sizing is huge! Also loved the sweet corn chowder, I guess I will have to order a quart size next time because it's amazing!
Eli Atticus Jager
Far and away my favorite restaurant in the city. Their menu changes frequently, and always in ways that are surprising and delightful.
Their cocktails are on point,
The atmosphere is good,
The staff and service are legendary.
Just go,
Go!
Alisson R
Food is ALWAYS spot on. Eclectic, local, fresh and delicious. The oyster saam is one of my favorites and cocktails are unique and have an old timer feel to them. We love the atmosphere and we always make a reservation ! Cocktail is My Uncle Oswald!
Avery Kernan
I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. The BBQ Ssam is AWESOME and I'm not a lettuce wrap type of guy. Fries are seasoned really well, I'm a fan of the MLC mustard. The rough Frances is very good, but the BBQ Ssam is excellent.
Kelly M. Mueller
Go during happy hour and sit at the bar. Steak tartare and the pickle plate were memorable.
Snowshoe Dancer
I've followed this place on Instagram for over a year but finally got a visit in as I'm from NH. It certainly met my expectations. Great pastrami sandwich. The potato leek soup is amazing. Wish I lived closer.
Lubos Simon
Very tasty meal. I have tried steak with scallions. Really delicious. Expensive and small area inside.
Sabina Ion
Misery Loves Co. was a fantastic lunch stop. We ordered carryout and the food smelled so good we decided to eat it right away and embarrassingly devoured it all while parked right outside the kitchen. The food was excellent, we had the matzo ball soup, a grilled cheese, and their lamb sandwich special. Every bite was delicious. I don't know if all the food would have travelled well. I would love to come back here after the pandemic and sit down to eat.
Jesse Gaboriau
We got the oysters and pate during happy hour. Both were excellent. hen of the wood offers better condiments but misery does a better job preparing their oysters. The pate is delicious and we will absolutely order it again. Despite being disappointed by their barreled beer we enjoyed their cocktails and their regular craft and draft selection were good.
Jane Swift
Reservations recommended. Really helpful wait staff. I had really lofty expectations which were mostly met. Fantastic wine list and waiters recommendations were delightful. The cheese plate and bread & butter as snacks were maybe the highlight of the meal. Small plates are definitely small so if you are hungry don't think of them as a full meal! The scallops had some complex tastes that were really good but it was a soup dish which wasn't what I expected and they were cold (I am sure intentionally) which isn't my thing. It was still really tasty but just not a hearty, satisfying main course. Real foodies would probably love it. The biggest disappointment was the fries. I love salt but they were over salted/seasoned even for me. The mousse for dessert was definitely redemption! Much heavier and rich than a traditional mousse - almost a flourless chocolate cake. Lastly, the ambience is very cool. We called and got a table last minute so we were in the middle of the restaurant but even still there is a romantic/hip vibe. I will definitely go back, armed with more knowledge!
MMM (MMM)
All I can say is delicious. Everything they make is wonderful. They are very good with accommodating food requirements also, like non-dairy, veg, vegan, etc. They will do their best to adapt stuff for you if you can't eat a particular ingredient or even make something that isn't on the menu to meet any food allergy or issue you may have. Beautifully designed as well. Definitely a 5 star restaurant. They need more vegetarian and vegan options though
kristie foreman
The Fried Chicken with Honey Butter was amazing! Great to share for 2 with plenty of leftovers!
Ken Crites
This is the best high-end restaurant in the area, yet it's actually cool and casual. Love this place. The menu changes frequently, the happy hour drinks are awesome and the staff is surprisingly friendly for such a hip place. I love bringing out of town guests here to show that VT has the same culinary hot spots as the big cities. Our Chicago friends love it. Bring back the bobby fries!
Starr St James
The food here is always simply amazing and the service is the same. In the running for my favorite restaurant. The steak tartare makes me very, very happy. But I haven't eaten anything here that didn't.
If you want a classy and romantic date, go here. It's magic. Get the oysters. Always get the oysters. I had a perfect dinner date here - the beautiful food and attentive but low-key service was wonderful. And the dessert they threw in on the house for us was a particularly nice touch 😊 Also - GREAT ESSPRESSO! This is so important!
The only complaint I have is DISCO BRUNCH. It's a delightful idea but in practice you can't hear your friends talk and the noise level is a bit more than I can handle in brunch mode. It would be my go-to upscale brunch spot if only I could actually catch up with my friends there!
Leah Chernovetz
Went here for the first time on a date yesterday. Prices were a little higher than our usual outing but staff was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Our steak was perfectly cooked and I loved it. The seasoning on the fries was wonderful and the ricotta cake with lemon ice cream was to die for.
Michael Dumont II
Just an amazing place! The staff is eager to please. The food as well as their cocktails are made with ingredients local and often organic. Upon closer examination you'll notice the care everyone places in to the food and the facilities. I often note it as a laid-back Hen of the Wood for comparison. The Bloody Mary is a must for brunch!
Julia Buffo
Cool place with unique food. Great service and very authentic people. Loved the dessert. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that the layout is a bit cramped. We definitely could've used more room at and around our table. Thanks for the wonderful meal!
Tim Feeney
Great food and a great place to have a meal with friends.
Monroe Street
So touched by the amazing takeout meal MLC prepared for us the other day. Somehow it seemed even better than the eat-in version (but perhaps this was just because I’d had to wait 3 months for them to come back amidst the pandemic—and was worried they wouldn’t). Only place I’ve ever eaten a delicate, challenging green chard and asparagus soup alongside some of the heartiest fried chicken. :)
Ryan Donaldson
Misery loves company is a great place to eat that many locals hold in high esteem. I have been several times over the past few years and it never disappoints. Their pastas are great and the cassoulet I had was second to none. The cranberry curd on the pavlova dessert was very nice as well. Small but cozy, shareable plates.
Benjamin Myer
Our family has been eating here since the days of Big Red and pop up events. Never once in all those years have we regretted a single meal. Good food made by great people who are absolutely invested in our community.
Barbara Shatara
Our food was excellent. Innovative and perfectly prepared. Portions are small. Prices high and the menu makes it hard to order enough food without spending a lot. Cocktails were interesting but none at our table would have ordered them again. Excellent wine and beer list however. I came away from the meal feeling less satisfied than I expected. The ordering experience ended up seeming like I was being gouged. I've had excellent and expensive meals at other Burlington/Winooski restaurants where the experience was much more enjoyable. Note, MLC is not airconditioned. It can get rather warm and uncomfortable even with fans.
Alpha Kilo
The restaurant is gorgeous and the employees are wonderful. Avoid visiting in the summertime, the dining room is stifling hot, the air conditioning is just for show. My partner and I ordered the fried chicken for two and the Korean Ssam, our appetizer was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten but our main course was overdone and quite bland, difficult to get through. I know they're capable of better but especially for what we paid all in all 3 stars is generous.
Jason Powell
Fried chicken is very good. Try the rough Francis fried chicken sandwich! Brunch or happy hour. Oysters for a dollar after work too. Great staff, great food, definitely give it a try for one of the better meals available around Burlington
Sean
Really great brunch and other menu items. One thing I would say is consistency wasn't very solid. I went back for the brunch because it was so good, the next week we went and service was spotty (they always seemed annoyed) and the Benedict had a scallop that tasted like it had turned that I had to spit out in my napkin. Not sure if it was a fluke but none the less had to affect the rating! Putting seafood broth in a Benedict that has once nicely toasted English muffins and making a soggy mess is a fail. I'll try again one more time and update!
Michael
I really wanted to like this place. We went on a Friday night at 8:30 - just after the rush. The appetizer and first round of drinks were a little slow to come out, but the conversation was good so I didn't think much of it, and all was worth the wait, but then it took another 45 minutes to get another round of drinks and the main course out. "Handmade pasta" was super al dente. Also it was quite dry. My wife's steak was not rare but rather barely cooked. 130 dollars later I was sad. There is much better food to be had in Burlington.
Andrew Evans
Fun and creative eats and drinks. It is entertaining to sit at the bar and watch everything be prepared. The staff are always pleasant and appropriately engaging. Check the menu online; it is ever-changing but seems to stay up to date there, thankfully. I've been a few times and I have never been disappointed.
Steven Davis
Best restaurant in Vermont... possibly the entire Northeast region. Unique menu that offers new eclectic dishes each day. Casual atmosphere that has outdoor sidewalk-seating in the warmer months. The chefs in their kitchen obviously love the art of cooking. Playful experimentation with fresh herbs, sauces, and spices. If you love exciting recipes that are built upon a comfort food foundation, try this wonderful eatery.
Don Jones
Absolutely loved this place. Very accommodating to every dietary need. They love to customize their creations to meet your needs; the chefs love the creative challenge. My wife's has sensitivities to gluten, dairy and fat and they created exactly what she needed and she loved it!
Kevin Peirson
The eggs Benedict may be one of the single best breakfasts of my life. Everything was cooked perfectly and the balance of flavors was just right. I could tell a lot of care went into the creation of that dish. I also got to try the shrimp and grits and it was equally well done. If I lived in Burlington I would probably go here for brunch every weekend!
Breanna Valente
Misery is one of my favorite restaurants on the planet. I was a regular when they first opened up and I lived in Winooski! Their incredible menu has evolved over time, but what remains the same is delicious food and awesome service. I live out of state now, but I always make it a point to stop in for a drink or dinner when I visit town. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out!
shaun connelly
just so good. we dropped in for a light bite in downtown Winooski. was not prepared to have such innovative and thoughtful attention to the three little sharing plates we ordered. the gazpacho was on point. the smoked swordfish was a welcome note to this standard summer soup. the roasted eggplant was perfect. the skin was blackened and carmalized. never have I enjoyed this veggie more. the star for me was the casserole of veggies and cheese. lots of flowers and berries lent the presentation a whimsical beauty. however, everything on the plate seemed to serve a good purpose. nothing was superfluous. staff were inviting, helpful, and gracious. atmosphere was chill but not dead 5pm Tuesday. good place to be happy or miserable.
amanda farrell
Great food and atmosphere. Great brunch menu. I love the Bloody Marys. The cheddar biegnets are amazing. I always get the croque madam. Amaging as always. I love when they have Craig Mitchell spinning for disco brunch he always brings down the house. I tried a side of the tater tots they were incredible. Love this place! Never disappoints.
Clem Yazdani
Good use of local ingredients. Went during restaurant week, lots of food, everything was creative and delicious.
Chase M
3.5 Stars.
Their food and drinks are great. However, 90% of the time I've gone there, the music has been too loud. Many of their menu items are over priced for the amount of food you get. e.g. ~$35 for aged beef ended up being a plate of two small pieces of the main ingredient (2-3 bites each?). I left hungry after spending $120 on what ended up being a 4 course meal.
Kris Duffy
By far my best dining experience ever. Me and my friend came in and sat our selves on accident, we sat right in front of the cooks with our backs to the bar. We didnt know we should have waited to be seated bcus we couldnt see the rest of the restaurant. We got steak tartare as a started and it was delicious, both got hangar steak and frites as the main entree and it was amazing, smokey meat with an amazing sauce and veggie that tied it all in. Desert we had an espresso and chocolate mouse, my friend had the rutabaga pan fried with sugar as a desert and they were also amazing. The cooks also while doing their jobs were asking us where we were from and giving us tips to make our trip to vermont better! Thank you! Will deffinitely come back if I have a chance!
Michael Bogin
Really cute place with very fresh choices but a limited menu Good cocktail selection ( they make whiskey doors the right way... With egg whites) Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. Super friendly wait staff.
Gary An
Went for brunch, ordered too much food. The cheddar beignets were fantastic, more like deep-fried popovers. The shrimp and grits was very filling, but very good, smoked and salty with grits almost like corn pudding.
Dayna Troiano
My wife and I were there recently on our trip to Burlington, this was our favorite spot. Everyone was super nice and very attentive. You cannot go wrong with food or coctails! Our favorite was the fried oysters with kimchi! To die for. We will be back on our next visit definitely.
Aislinn Doyle
The fact that we didn't get seated for our 8pm reservation until 9:15 could have ruined our evening, but the bartender and server (and a free appetizer and free dessert) helped to make up for that. Food was good, atmosphere was nice, and music was excellent. Still, as a Winooski local it's not my first pick in town. I miss the food truck and bakery!
Duncan Goel
Stopped in early on a Sunday afternoon at the end of a weekend stay in Burlington. Seating was prompt, and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy. Started with the cheddar beignets, fluffy and delicious. The honey glaze really makes it. Out entrees were the croque madame and The Vonnegut, a pork belly sandwich, with a side of eggs and a side of tater tots (highly recommend). Phenomenal timing, fantastic food. The wait staff was attentive and extremely pleasant. I would live to come back the next time we're in town!
Jeremy Hudson
Just had another fantastic meal and experience with MLC. Rea took great care of us on our special night out from the kids. She was great helping us with our wine selection and helped nudge us towards the "chef salad". It was served on a large live-edge wooden block scattered with a deconstructed salad with seafood, including roe and a fabulous rillette. It turned into a seafood evening as we started with oysters and finished with halibut. You can trust land locked MLC to serve you new and exciting flavors, seafood or otherwise. Thanks for a great night out.
Jim Woodard
We had a great Sunday brunch with oysters, bloody mary, orange juice, great coffee, bengets and chicken with waffles. Served by an attentive and personable staff, delicious creative food, and great company. We will be back as this is a must place to visit.
Aaron G
Oh my word. This restaurant is the best in Burlington. We had a very special anniversary dinner here. I mentioned it was an anniversary when I made the reservation and the whole staff was keyed in that it was a special evening. The owner even stopped by our table to say happy anniversary and check in. I highly recommend eating here.
Max Ernst
The food is incredibly unique and often phenomenal.
However, some nights the meat will be too salty.
My main issue is that the price per portion is the most expensive in town by far. If they charged a fair price, they'd be great.
Jeremy Psaute
Their menu is always eclectic and delicious. Their waitstaff is nice and mindful. I think of this place as a food adventure rather than just dinner. Quality over quantity is what you should expect with commensurate pricing.
Kristen Reid
The friendliest staff in town and some of the yummiest, creative food and cocktails in the area. Everyone rushes to Burlington to find incredible dining, but this gem in Winooski is out of this world good. As Southern transplants, I also have to say that we have found their fried chicken to be as good if not better than what we were used to in the South. Nom, nom, nom!
LauraLee Montanaro
Some of the most creative and interesting dishes in the Burlington area, with a great wine list. Can share lots of small plates or enjoy full sized entrees. If you enjoy mixed drinks they have a very extensive and interesting cocktail list.
Ross Predom
This place is one of, if not the, best restaurant in the Burlington area. The food here is on an almost entirely different level, from their crudo, charcuterie, and cheese plates - to their heavier main fares such as hangar steaks, fried chicken, and pork chops. The only negative I have about this place is that their cocktails tend to be too acidic.
Eben Proft
Atmosphere is really nice and relaxing food seems to be very fresh, high-quality And is absolutely ............well kind of amazing in freshness and quality. Anytime I am in northern Vermont I go out of my way to eat here and would not hesitate to drive from southern Vermont just for dinner. And wait staff are very professional and just real genuine people. THANK YOU MISERY FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO AND HOW YOU DO IT !!!
Anja Jones
Adorable little space right off of the Winooski river. Had the steak tartare with chips - delicious and the perfect portion size. Service was great! Would definitely come here again!
Andrew LeValley
Misery ❤️'s Co has a unique menu which is delicious. Their cocktails are excellent, and they have a decent beer selection. The staff is always friendly, and the vibe is casual and stylish.
Samantha Holland
Great food and atmosphere! We had a late reservation and the staff was all very friendly and we never felt rushed, even being one of the last tables! Such a good place to share plates with friends.
Marcel Maldonado
Very good, local fresh ingredients.
Yum. Good coffee.
I had the croque madam and it was very good but two eggs would have been preferred.
The lady had the vegetable hash that she was extremely happy with. How do I know ow you ask? Cause she shared very little of it haha JK she was gracious.
Also, very friendly staff.
Definitely will return next time I'm around
Adam DeMasi
Misery loves company is consistently one of the best restaurants in the Burlington area, the black spaghetti haunts my dreams, their Bloody Mary's are perfect, the staff is kind and attentive, the food hits the balance of filling delicious and elevated. It's spendy but totally worth it!
ryan gage
Best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had
David Kennedy
Ate here twice. Dinner one night, and brunch the next day. Both times had a wonderful meal. Fabulously attentive staff, great drinks and food, this place is a keeper.
misssophiamae
Really lovely staff, nice setting and vibe. We had a salad, tater tots (these were some next level potatoes), steak tartare, a waffle and everything came out wonderful, fresh and delicious!
Audrey Manning
Such a great experience. Whole vibe was very positive. Food was unique and delicious, and Darren was so friendly. We look forward to coming back.
Fiona Griffin
The food is always innovative and delicious. The restaurant is super laid back but also proefssional. There servers are excited about the menu and very knowledgeable. The cocktails are interesting and approachable.
Jake Mostov
At this resturant you do not pay for quality or quantity, but instead for the experience. Every meal is a bouquet of flavors combining into an adventure that is either horrendous or wonderful to the literal sence of the word. Enjoy at your own risk
A M
Highly recommend the fried chicken! And the honey ice cream is so creamy and delicious.
Trish Johnson
My friend and I ordered the beef tartare and then immediately ordered another one after we finished it. Enough said!
Donald Tinney
One of the best places in Vermont for brunch. Have the tater tots. Seafood Benedict was superb. Disco music was delightful.
Andrew Lutzuk
Very nice brunch with some unique choices and interesting takes on classics. The vibe was definitely very hip, they had a DJ spinning, but it still retained a local favorite charm.
Keith Longmore
Found them online and ordered a sandwich Stopped in to pickup takeout ordered by phone, only to find out it was a dinner priced meal: 4 pieces of chicken, overly cooked veggies and a salad with no dressing. $38. bucks.
Derek Rycewicz
Best fried chicken in Burlington, hands down. Good service, friendly staff, rest of the menu is excellent. We basically come here as much as possible.
rj r
Good brunch on weekend, always friendly professional service.
thomas nevins
we went for a ride though upper vermont and were looking for a place for lunch, so we yelped several opportunities in winooski and found out that they were pretty much on the same row and we settled on misery....it is not!!! great we ate at the bar, mitchell was a great bartender and info provider, food was very different, softshell crab with dandelion capers, i had the croque madame and wife had the vegetable hash which she loved....small place where you can easily watch the cooks and enjoy a cocktail different or made of spirits you have not seen before (or in my case, perhaps never heard of!!!)
great!!!!
Ken Washuta
Great brunch! They open at 10 on Sunday, and I recommend reservations. Their Canadian bacon was outstanding!
Travis
Good atmosphere, nice Waiter, but the dinner menu is pricey. If you go be prepared, skip the cocktails, it will help lessen the financial blow
Andy Klepack
Innovative and (mostly) delicious, but we left hungry after ordering more than the waiter even thought necessary and dropping $100. I appreciate what they're going for here, but leaving hungry made it feel like a disappointment
Merrill Allen
My eggs Benedict was great, the mimosa was good, but I'll come back because of the awesome beardy server man! Outdoor seating was great for my dog to chill.
Teigen
These guys make some super creative and delicious food, only caveat is the portions are on the smaller side. Waitstaff is super friendly and helpful, and the drinks are excellent.
Jenn Gren
One of the best brunches and beignets I've ever had. And their own Irish cream served chilled… OMG it was just like coffee ice cream! YUM!!!
Samuel Scarpino
Ambitious menu, which sometimes doesn't quite work out. Overall it's easily one of the top places in Burlington, but it's not as consistently excellent as the very best restaurants.
Steve Welgoss
Friendly, attentive service for our brunch trip here. Nothing bad, but nothing special either. Wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but would prefer to try new places first.
Matthew Staff
Had a lovely meal with the bbq ssam to start, mixed & bitter greens, and shared the buttery steak entree. Finished with an awesome dessert!
Jamie McQueen
Recovery bike ride to happy hour at MLC...oysters, fried oyster ssam, fries, and MLC's shandy. Perfect Saturday afternoon nourishment. Each trip to VT requires an MLC stop. Thanks, all, for the passion and joy you put into your food and drink (MLC's own Pimms??? really?!?!).
Abhishek Davuluri
Amazing eggs Benedict. Amazing service.
Peter Jacobsen
We had a lovely, cohesive, thoughtful meal tonight, as we do each time we go. These great people care about good food. What a special treat.
N Patrick Pierce
Only drank at the bar. They have some creative cocktails they made up using obscure Italian liquors. Also, the bar staff is chill and attentive.

Had eaten here for lunch (is also great), but not dinner....last night a friend and I were taking out another pal for her birthday treat....and what a TREAT!!!....everything was perfect, the wait staff very attentive, the food out of this world....beware, this is NOT the usual fare (even the cocktails, desserts), need to go with an open mind, I even needed to look up a few words.....BUT if you're looking for something out of the ordinary, this is the place for you...I highly recommend.

(Translation) Charming bistro in a neighborhood near Burlington to discover. Take a look at the menu before heading out to see if the choices are right for you. Everything was delicious I put 4 stars rather than 5 because the portions are really small so take out your $$ if you want to be satisfied. Also, the dishes are very rich, to avoid if you have to watch your diet for different reasons.
