Great place for all kinds of things at reasonable prices! Staff is always nice and helpful too! I would give 5 stars, but oftentimes, I go there based on sales ads I get, and they do not have what it says in ad.

Job Lot is good for many things, especially cheap but good sweatshirts, staple food items and housewares. I also like the crazy deals offers and customer appreciation day. I can't think of another store that gives you 40 percent back on the total of what you spend that day.

Who doesn't love job lot? They are constantly getting new things in. My favorite thing to get here are spices and to try international candies and cookies for a low price. Sure, some job lots are better than others. I go to the one in Johnston. I think it's great. The one in Lincoln is also good.

My visits to the Johnston store have always been very good. But the past 2 times I have encountered cashiers who seemed to get angry because I raised a question about the cost of a product. In my recent visit I ordered a case of Polar soda which was priced at $6.99 per case. The cashier charged me the per-six pack price instead. She called over the service manager. They insisted that it was not 6.99 per case. I went back to the display and took a photo clearly indicating the $6.99 price. They said that was not the price. Made up a story that it had something to do with taxes. Which I knew was incorrect. In frustration I kept quiet and left the store. But this left me feeling negative toward the store. It was another example of rude treatment by what appeared to be people who were very unhappy with their jobs.

This is the place ya go if ya need a rug or curtains... the other places should be used for the set of the "Walking Dead"..... right ! Total vintage assortment for all your carpeting needs.... Now, maybe I will go check out the curtains....close out on tons of summer @#$% too... check it out!

This place, like all the job lot stores, is just a FUN and comfortable store to go to, because you never really know what you'll find. Of course they always carry staple items and goods, and far too many to even begin to mention... but the customer service is always the best, and the employees are always smiling and receptive.. I always enjoy going to any of their stores, and I don't think I've ever left without feeling like I got a great deal on just about everything I bought!!

It a wonderful "one stop shop center" if you need to buy many different things and dont have time to go different stores, this is your go to place. And the price is very affordable. Trust me i say affordable! And amazing quality! Was looking for a grill cover and found a great one for two time less the price at other places for the exact same product. How awesome is that.

Every time I have come, I have found the organizational structure to be poor. The same item is found multiple times throughout the store and similar items are not always grouped together. There is often dirt in the store. The staff is friendly and polite. It does have a collection of items that are hard to find at any other stores.

Better selection than some job lots, but the staff is very hit or miss. The cashier I just had seemed pretty angry in general and double scanned some of my items. I'm not very confrontational, so I just paid, but I won't go back to this location until you can pick your own cashier again.

The staff here is fantastic. Its a large store with plenty of parking. There are always good deals. The Bob's Red Mill section is fantastic! The area rug section offers lots of options. I'm sad that the buyers for the store seem to be unable to keep steady supply of organic coffee and olive oil. In the past they always had a large selection. I'd love to see art section offer more options but I do appreciate what they have at great prices. And again the staff makes this a great value store.

I love Ocean State Job lot. Sometimes I go there not even needing anything and just walk around in fine stuff that I want or need. They have everything from crazy food items to assorted tools. I'll typically go to Ocean State Job Lot before I hit another store and see if they have it first. If ever I have to do something like painting or work in the yard I usually hit there first for paint supplies or rakes and shovels. It's not always the best quality but if I'm only looking to get a season or two out of it then I'll buy it there first. They do have some brand name items in there also. They're actually really good for seasonal items like pool supplies or snow shovels or Christmas items also. They actually do have a pretty good section for food I mean it's things I've never seen before but I'll try it out here in there. What's nice is they're all over the place too so you're never too far away from one. Typically you can get in and out pretty fast too. It's pretty funny they even have a little bit of clothing in there. I'm not sure I'd buy my air conditioner in there but I'd certainly buy my fans in there. All in all I recommend Ocean State Job Lot. there are a ton of times people will say that they're looking for something and I tell them they have those at Ocean State Job Lot.

I was in your johnston last, had a supervisor named Cheryl help me when a rude customer came up to her demanding to be cashed out because she was handicapped. She wasn't and didn't want to wait in line! Cheryl handled it very professionally!!!! So in case she hets a bad review from this nut don't believe it! Happy Holidays!

I absolutely love Job Lot!! The staff is friendly and helpful. Great everyday prices, plus unexpected finds! The store is clean and laid out well. I had no trouble finding everything I was looking for, plus a few bonus items I didn't expect. Great place to stock up on beauty products and items to fill your pantry! Lots of snacks, with a wide variety. Liw prices on spices and staples. Excellent kitchenware.

OMG! Got the greatest bathing suit at Job lot for 25 bucks. When I took a closer look at it it actually came from Macy's and had a price tag of 90 bucks. I love all the finds I get it Job lot anyway

OSJL is an excellent place to shop for just about anything. If you can't find it at the Big Box Stores check them out before you decide you don't need it. Nine times out of ten they will have it. They have another great crazy deal going to on now...purchase a school backpack with supplies for school for $15.00 and you give them the backpack back and you get a $15.00 crazy deal card. A great way to help the school kids and it doesn't cost you a dime. I did it 2 days ago. Help OSJL give back packs to the less fortunate ones this school year.

They've always got exactly what you need, and a whole bunch of fabulous things you didn't know you needed until you got there. Their prices can't be beat, their selection can't be beat, and now with all these crazy deals they offer, you can try all kinds of new things and not feel like you're taking a Financial Risk and getting something you won't like... because you're getting a crazy deal card, so if you don't like it you can use your crazy deal card to buy something else. It's a brilliant marketing strategy and I have certainly found all kinds of new products that I would never have tried otherwise, that I love and now buy all the time

Went to Ocean State Job Lot to get some pool supplies and then picked up a new 100 ft hose for the front yard. They also had a deal on solar yard lights. So I get to the register and the cashier asks me if I'd like to buy a backpack for a net child. Of course I would. So I buy the backpack and then OSJL turns around and gives me a $15.00 gift card! The cashier thanked me for saving her- which I was happy to do. OSJL always had deals every day on nearly everything.

This location is a former Shaw's Supermarket, so it's very big. I noticed too many items didn't have prices, so that limited what I was willing to buy. I know they don't price everything, but at least the prices are usually on the shelves, but that wasn't the case. I would definitely change that because they are losing sales.

Large accommodating lot . A pretty good variety of useful items for home , office, auto etc. While in that store I always discover something that I may need. I love the selection of reasonably priced art and stationary supplies. The food area displays many unique goods. I've purchased spices ,coffee, tea , and other quality products. Overall , it is a store to put together gift ideas.

This place is very good for all regular household items. The place will gaurantee you best prices for all the items. I must say very good place to buy carpets and gardening stuff. The place has variety of other kitchen items and house hold items. Lovely place if you are settling up your house or maintaining it with variety of items.

I'm a big fan of OSJL. They've excellent deals on damn near everything in the store, and different locations will have different, often difficult-to-find items not found in your favorite location. They offer a nice variety of food items including, but not limited to: olive oil, soups, canned goods, international foodstuffs, condiments, flour, spices, chips, crackers, and candy. Lotta cool kitchen stuff and general oddities not found in department stores (an apparently dying breed), and has the appealing advantage of being founded in RI (and headquartered!) to those that like to support their local economy. Check 'em out!

The store has FINALLY put their coupons automatically into their register system. Why else would someone be there for that item unless they got the email? My folks go there regularly for all of the odds and ends needed around the house. I have purchased suet and bird seed there most recently. They have a "crazy deal" promotion on products where if you buy what you would ordinarily by, there is a deal where you get spendable cash on a card for 50-100% of the value of what you just purchased. My sister buys art supplies there. She can find pre-stretched canvases, quality pain brushes, and all types of pain there. My brother-in-law likes the wool rugs, and designer plates and dishes that will come through. Once the store sells out of anything, there will be no more. If you see it and like it, but it - it won't be there the next time. Dog food changes weekly, but the brands are excellent, and for half thebprice you would buy elsewhere. They yarn selection is not the greatest, but you can find something good at half price every time you go. There are toys for kids, hardware for the garage and house, and an interesting clothing section to pick through. I always find at least one thing I like for under $7. The soaps, laundry detergent, kitchen tools, and small appliances are great. They have name brand soaps to deodorant. There is a small section of fine triple milled French soap. I look through this every time for the scents I like. One bar of this lasts because it doesn't melt in the shower like other brands. If you are a reader, there are books ranking from crosswords and Sudoku to the Duck Dynasty trilogy set that can be bought to read. There are teen and children's titles as well. Take your time to dig, there are many genre of book there. In the various holiday seasons, you will find decor for that season there. If you bake cookies, or like organic Red Mills grains, there is a food section that is three isles deep, and a two isle kitchen cooking wares section. Makeup and beauty products can be found on the front wall. It is nearly the whole wall. There are more in the soap and hygiene isles. The prices are what you go to this store for. The products come and go, there is often a challenge in finding exactly what you hoped for, but there is always something similar. I like to call it the indoor flea market - it is fun to go fir what you KNOW will be there because it was advertised, but walking around to see what else is there is aways fun, and may surprise you.

They moved this store down the road to Johnston from North Scituate. The old store in N. Scituate was over-crowded but admittedly fun. This new store is huge and very organized. You can really find some bargains there. It's right in the middle of town so easy to get there. Very nice place

Bargain central...all the necessities and some quality surprizes. Ocean State job lot has many items at a discount. Some clothing, seasonal wear, health and beauty aids, groceries ( no frozen food and only occasíonal produce), cook wear, spices ( great variety at a discount), boxed, canned, bottled, jar groceries, candy, gardening and pet supplies, greeting cards and paper goods, toys, housewares, and more. Worth a stop, not at a moment of impulse shopping, but definitely worth stopping and coming back again and again.
