Reviews of Schimpff's Confectionery
Douglas Cooley
It was nostalgic! You could really feel the history here with all of the wall deco. Santa was a big part of it too. The museum was nice, and watching the candy makers was really amazing! My friend Patty and I got to sample warm Red Hots! Fantastic! The chicken salad was good too. I can't wait to return!

Very friendly staff and great selection of candies 🍬 🍭 they are here in the heart of downtown for over 110 years, stablished in 1891. So if you are in the area you should pay them a visit. They are couple minutes walk away from big for station bridge. I recommend try their dark chocolate caramel turtle candy!! …

//GOOD:
— friendly staff; everyone appeared to love their job and this makes such a positive difference
— entering the store takes customers to another world in another time, making it a great escape
— each time I have visited, candy makers where showcasing their skills; usually at least one hard candy and one chocolate candy assembly in full display; it is such a treat to watch
— definitely one of the larges selections of candy and chocolates in the metro area; I’m guessing about three quarters of it being made in-house
— bonus: just visiting is a treat for your nose
— store is sectioned off in different areas including dining areas (ice cream and small deli), retail, and candy assembly
— one back room even houses a candy museum!
//CAUTIONS:
— it gets crowded (a caveat of being popular)
//SUMMARY: If you want a mini-EPCOT or -Gatlinburg experience for just a few hours, combine a Schimpff’s visit with one of the many restaurants that a just steps away.

If you haven't been here, you simply must go. If candy isn't your thing, there's the cutest little deli in the back. Very reasonable prices and the most nicest people. Mr and Mrs Schimpff still work there after all these years! It's like going to your grandparents for lunch. 💜 There's also a ton of vintage memorabilia to look at. My daughter loves the sugar free cherry cordials.
Kelly Frank
Love the smell of the freshly made red hots . They still make them the old fashion way. They do demonstrations and hand out free samples . So many delicious candies , chocolates , and a soda fountain shop either ice cream and small eats. There is even a small museum inside. It is one my favorite old time candy stores. Always a favorite to stop at when we are in the area.

Wonderful old school candy store with plenty of history on their candy making processes. Everyone was SO nice and friendly. I recommend the Bon Bons at Christmas time. Any candy you purchase at Schimpff's, you will not be disappointed. They even have sugar-free chocolates!! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

131 year old candy company still so tasty I could barely get through the door on a cold Friday afternoon. Classic and local candies. Sugar free options. Cute sit down cafe. Watch staff make sweets. It was a treat just to be there. Candy was a bonus.
Tiffany Pulkowski
This place is fantastic! Make sure you stop by for the Red Hot making demonstration, so fun, and so informative! Give the candy dispenser from the 1920s a whirl and then buy some house made candies to go! The milk chocolate caramels and peanut butter melt aways are super good! Also pick up some lemon drops and hardbound candies!
Kyle Cyr
Wonderful candy store with a lot to choose from. Ice cream and soda stand as well. I'm happy to see these kinds of places thriving.
Marilyn CW
This is one of the cutest stores to come with a date, or with children and make it an experience. You can watch them make chocolate. Or you can have lunch inside.
Teresa Sperry
Wonderful gem of a store. The candy is delicious! It was so much fun to watch them make the candies!
Victoria Dodge
Schimpf's was a fun place to take the grandchildren for a walk back in time. The candies were exquisite and the museum was so much fun. It took me back to my childhood! We could watch hand-dipping of chocolates.
Wayne R
Found this through a local recommendation and consider it a wonderful treasure. Ordered lunch and then while looking around, I met the owner and had a quick visit that made me feel like I’ve known him all my life. Met a couple as we were eating and they shared their personal stories/connections that make small businesses so special. Stayed for the candy making tour and was amazed as they make their candy on 130 year old equipment and share humor and love.
Dolly
Wonderful!!! It was like being a kid in a candy store!! The workers were very nice and helpful in helping us make our own valentine boxes of candy. My sister in law was excited to go because when she was a kid (many years ago)her dad always bought her the black licorice Scotty dog candies and GUESS WHAT THEY STILL HAVE THEM!!!
What a treasure for Jeffersonville!!

Schimpff's Confectionery is a spectacular store to experience the history of candy. There is a wide range of sweet treats made in store and some national brands. It is nice to see the the old-fashioned candy jars where you could purchase the amount you desire and the display cases with a wide variety of chocolates. You can enjoy food from the deli or some ice cream from the soda fountain
The staff was making candy canes at the time we visited. It was nice to see the process and the work it takes to make the sweet treat. We enjoyed speaking with Mr. Warren Schimpff about the business and some of the memorabilia in the store. His years of experience an knowledge of the industry provided us a nice history lesson.
There is plenty of historical items to see. Some you may be able to say, "I had one of those" or "That would be nice to have".
The Cinnamon Red Hots (Schimpff's signature piece and have been made here since opening day in 1891) were good. We also enjoyed the English Toffee, Cinnamon Red Hot Creams, Cinnamon Gummy Santa's, Old-Fashioned Lemon Drops, and we purchased Candy Canes for Christmas stocking stuffers.
Mrs. Barbie
We like to have lunch here once on a while, they are very affordable and have cafeteria style lunch. Our favorite is their "real cherry coke " its delicious! They have demos of how they make the red hots every now and then and you get to taste them after they are finished making them, which is a great experience. The customer service is good. There is a little museum so you can see how far the candy making pocress has come. There is a lot of history in this little candy shop, and its worth checking out!
Kelley Johns
Candy museum was very interesting. We got to watch them make their red hots!! Chocolates are perfect!!
Zachary T
Great little candy shop with a neat little museum area. If you’re lucky you might get to see the employees making some of their hard candy. Enjoy stopping by here when passing through the area. Items can be a little pricey, but it’s worth it.
Phil Ollenberg
Employees here are absolutely lovely. Cool features are a small candy museum and watching employees make candy in real time. Prices are a little steep, but I think that's what comes with being a bit of a tourist destination.
bailey yonkers
This place is so much fun for kids. If you go at the right time, you can watch them make fresh red hots and sample them while they're still warm. It's well worth it to stop in for that alone, not to mention the chocolate selection!
Karen Hall, Realtor
Did someone say Cinnamon Creams from Schimpff’s?! Lunch was yummy! Wonderful chili and the pimento cheese is as good as grandmas! 💫 …
denise gibson
I have been enjoying this candy store since I was a little girl. It's one of my favorite place to shop. I love the friendly atmosphere if the employee's.
Terry Green
It's a "walk back in time" cxonfectionary that will please any sweet tooth craving. We enjoyed looking at all of the chocolate candies and had to try our first bourbon dark chocolates--very good. I also love peanut butter so buckeyes and dark chocolate with peanut butter truffles took care ofy craving. Also, check out the Peerless Candy mahogany "museum" display they have on loan. Wonderful service topped off our experience there. We'll come back another time. 😁
Adam Dickey
Love this family owned confectionery. Best place in the region to get candies, chocolates, and anything sweet. You’ll know you are near from the smell of delicious goodness as you walk down Spring Street!
lauri bodenbender
Such a unique candy shop and museum! Not only do they make the candies in house they also have a cafe a soda shop! Ask for a sample! So yummy!
The grandbaby loved the museum and the candy!
Scott Beyer
Fun, old-fashioned candy store in downtown Jeffersonville. Reasonable prices and you can watch them make the chocolates!
Shelley Gorski
Cutest little candy shoppe. The store smells wonderful- so sweet. The museum in the back is very compact but has so much impressive history. Set aside some time to look closely though there. I was lucky enough to get to watch a demonstration. Making candy seems easy but is hard work. After watching step over and pick up some candy. So many choices! Everything tastes great!
Steven Sexton
This place is awesome! They have so many different chocolates and candies to choose from. The store is really big and the workers were are very friendly. They also have an old fountain machine to get some Coca Cola. If you are in the area this is a must stop type of place.
kimber6650
This is the most awesome place! We got to watch them make Red Hots 🔥 and it was amazing 👏 🙌 😍 They were So,so informative about everything from beginning to end and we even got a warm piece when they were finished breaking it up. How truly wonderful! Thank you kind people so much. May you continue a good work of hand candy making for years to come for many to enjoy 😉 😊 I will certainly be passing this place along to ALL I know and be bringing my grandkids and greatgrands once I get them hopefully.

Very lovely visit. Everyone was very nice. Helpful. My wife, me and our kids watch the entire presentation on how they so the hard cinnamon drops. It is amazing how perfect the process is and how they have this s ripted perfectly. The lovely lady that narrated the process was amazing to us all. They even gave us some free candy to try. Eveything else was very clean and all very organazied. If you are in town and need a candy make sure to swing by and yo can even have a sandwich, milkshake or just pure homemade candy.
Jeremy- Ward Realty Services
This place is a must stop! Fresh made cinnamon candy made onsite and you can watch from the store window our inside viewing area. The chocolates are excellent too. They have a small diner in the back of the store if you need to grab a bite to eat. There is a ton of history in this family owned candy business and they offer tours of the candy museum. This is a stop you won't regret making.
Joshua Shouse
Their red hots are the best!
Me and my gf took our kid here based on a suggestion from a co-worker. This was a super cool experience and really fun for our son. This confectionary has been open since 1891 and owned by the same family since. They have an area where the red hots are made right in front you. After explaining the process, you're given the opportunity to try out some fresh warm red hots (or be called a "wimp" if you choose the lemon flavored candies). They have old style Coke machines and will add flavored to them. I had them add chocolate to my Coke and though it wasn't the best, it did have a tootsie roll type of flavor. They have 3 sections where candy of all kinds are found. I mean they have EVERYTHING! We decided to choose a mix of various chocolates, some gum balls and of course a few packs of red hots. Seriously these red hits are amazing. Bring in some nickels so you can use their genuine candy machine that still works. Super cool experience for kids and adults, I had never saw one before. They have a museum in the back hosting all kinds of cool photos, history of candy and of the shop, as well as old candy containers. During the day hours they have a deli where you can get sandwiches as well as a ice cream floats. They have a large seating area with some cool old school benches.
The entire place was like going back in time and was way cool. I highly recommend stopping by. There's a ton of good restaurants in the area (Red Yeti is a good one) that are just a short couple minute walk. Would make a great place to stop after lunch.
Holly B. Hansen
I want more candy.
I bought some candy but I should have pre-ordered more or made proper arrangements. Now I just feel empty inside.
I'm back home in Utah.
Sharon Braunwart
This is the best hidden old fashioned candy store I’ve ever been to. The make most candies by hand. They have a museum and an area to watch them make their famous cinnamon hearts and lemon drops.
Janet Rachel
A fun place to go for an outing. It has a cute little eating area. Candy is very expensive. The museum is interesting. We got some free samples there.
Stephen Tipton
Really great place! The staff is really kind and helpful. They give a lot of free samples, which helps you choose what you wanna buy, haha. The chocolate is really high quality, too. There are also candy making demonstrations. Check the website for times on those.
Lori Leslie
Just happened to stop in on the day they were making cinnamon candy canes. Mmm the smell!! Always great to see Warren & Jill, and stock up on some delicious candy! ❤
Robert Fraze
Huge selection of candy made the old-fashioned way. Tons of museum and candy memorabilia . You can watch them make candy as they explain the process. Very cool. Excellent bourbon balls.
trish dagle
No kitchy decor, real memories, great staff. Go here to get that time capsule experience. The ice cream is amazing.
Mary Townsend
Reminds me of Willie Wonka ♥️♥️. It's not just about the candy and chocolates; it's about the history. The generations that have kept their families tradition of making quality confectionery. They even have sugar free options ❣️
L Walters
Great candy shop.. love the fact that it's local. We love to support local businesses. Great when you can stop in when they are making some candies, especially the hard candies.. they will give you a sample.. awesome to see the process and taste the end results.
David Blair
We stopped on on a whim. You can watch the many différent candies being made . 200 years of Cindy making. Lots of historical memorabilia around in the muséum section. Of course we had to sample some of the goodies. Small deli area for sandwiches and cold sides.
Paul Zerkow
Good trip to see how candy is really made. Good experience from my granddaughter. Their candy selection is incredible both in the sugar free and sugar varieties. Ate lunch in their deli. Good soup, sandwich and salad.

There is not a better place in all of Southern Indiana or the Louisville Metro area for candy, candy making, candy history or for sweets. For more the 127 years, Schimpff's does it the best!

Love this place! Candy store back in time. Daily demonstration of how they make their famous Red hots every hour. Large groups need to call and make reservations. 2 or 3 walkins welcome. And even better free samples! All kinds of delicious candies and an old time soda fountain that serves lunch.

This is a hidden jewel that's a must-see if you're visiting the Jeffersonville or Louisville area. Candy, museum, & you can watch it being made the old-fashioned way.
Kayla Rhoton
Such a *sweet* and charming place! Jill and Warren were so kind and my children loved watching the candy demonstration! More than that, the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful throughout our visit. We had 2 young children, the youngest of which had a little meltdown when she didn't immediately get the candy from the display cases (big surprise), and the staff were so patient and generous with their time. To top it off, all of the candy we tried was delicious! Highly recommend checking it out!
Christie Neal
AMAZING experience. From tour of seeing how they make candies and the history behind their store, to their products and employees. We were greeted with smiles and kindness. Fun time to see the candy making process for adults and kids alike!

Wonderful historical candy shop that opened in the 1880s. Definitely come when it's not busy so you can check out the candy-making demonstration. The owners put it on themselves, and are absolutely hilarious.
Sarah Niemann
I love that this place is still around! I visited for a field trip when I was still in grade school and remember falling in love with the place, and promising myself that I'd come back one day... still have to follow through on that promise though.
Amber
The candy is so good. The service was great. The lunch was so good. I was not disappointed one bit. I really enjoyed my time first time there.

This is a must see and try out place. The candy and chocolate is to die for and while you are there check out their amazing antique collection, it will take you back in time in no time. This has become my favorite candy store. I have been here many times now and I enjoy the tour of them making the cinnamon candy every time. The sample of the warm cinnamon candy at the end is what I wait for. They have a nice variety of chocolates to choose from as well. The staff is always friendly and very helpful.
Jason Garner
What a great store! See how this family has made candy for over a century. They also have a deli and a counter for shakes and malts. Lots of chocolate, red hots, and lemon drops. Worth a visit!
Maricely Vega
A lot of candies to choose from. A cute cafe with basic food. Don't expect fancy. There are employees wearing costume but they aren't doing anything. Cashier was very friendly. You will be in the past once enter the store. I'll be back.
Jon Patterson
Like stepping in a candy store time machine, literally tons of candy to select from, old candies I haven't seen in years, hand made candies with a live demonstration
Kurt Willer
A delightful old fashioned candy store and soda fountain. Parking is on street and although it was quite busy when we visited the store is larger than it looks, definitely worth a visit.
Danielle Sowers
Staff is amazing! They give free samples of hot peppermints! So much fun to watch them make candy the old way!
Beast6ft9
Great tasting candy but very pricey $24 a lb equals about $1 a piece. It was awesome watching candy being made fresh. I took my wife for valentines days and she absolutely loved it.
Erica Morris
Miss the ribbon candy this year. Great place , great service, and always a blast to see the memorabilia.
D Alltop
Super fun store with SOOOO many choices! Staff was very helpful and a the candy and chocolates were all delicous.

We love this place. Been a family tradition for Christmas since I was a young kid. Great selection of fresh old fashioned, hand made candy. Cool Candy museum, and it is fun to watch them make the candy.
Terese Mittler
Wonderful old fashioned soda fountain
Nathaniel McComb
A great little candy store tucked away downtown. Just two things to note. One, I wish there was a larger selection of sugar-free chocolate, and two, i wish the staff would refrain from talking to me like I'm stupid when i want to purchase sugar-free candy. Yes, I do realize I'm buying sugar-free chocolates.
Roberta Ritschard
Delightful people! The cinnamon red hot drops are my favorites, but you can get lemon, anise, and other flavors. The demonstrations are wonderful! Their chocolates are delicious too!
Jean J
Always go to Schimpff's,especially for Christmas. Family owned for over 100 years. Candy to die for.

Angela Moore
Mommas favorite red hots and hard fish candy in the can!!
david jackson
Ordered my wife some peanut brittle based off of all the good things that I've heard about this place. My wife is not exactly the easiest person to please at times. But I can honestly say you have a new fan. She loves the peanut brittle, and we will be buying more.
Keith Moody
This is the best confectionery/candy store with such a rich history. I really enjoyed it, the candy (which I bought too much of) and the people. I liked getting to meet Mrs. Jill Schimpff, she's great!
Terry Eurton
Good, very good. Best people I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long while. Extremely clean. I was impressed and fealt good being there! Go watch Candie's being made fresh right in front of you. Give them a call for show times. It's free
Karen Kampschaefer
I love Schimps! They have the best toffee around. The cinnamon candy is great too. I love going in at Christmas time.
Yes, it is a bit expensive but if you don’t want to pay the price, there’s a Thornton’s a block away.
Geoffrey Rance
This is a wonderful little candy shop and sweets museum. They make a lot of their own sweets and have some free samples from time to time. In the candy shop, they have everything from chocolates to hard candies. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you have.
john doe
Never would I worry about spending any money limit in this establishment. Support for businesses like this should be a must, such a gem! This day in age with everything going on it’s great for the kids. Displayed is a nostalgic candy museum which is really neat. Their red hots sold in canisters are amazing! Support your local business! You can get candy or you can’t get the Schimpff’s experience.
Joan Wollschlager
What a fun candy shop! We had lunch here and toured the candy museum and watched them make peppermint candy!!
Elizabeth Sherrod
Such a cool, fun place! Candy is pricy though
Steve Francia
This place is a MUST go to destination! A cool candy store/museum and ice cream parlor! So many cool things too see/eat and experience! They don't make places like this anymore! Make sure to check out the free "tour" of how to make some of their hard candies (with a sampling at the end!). We were lucky enough to get a private tour of the "museum" by the owner, who clearly loves what he's collected as well as his work and shop! You'll need under an hour, and an appetite! Go there now!
Rjjshoany
Incredible Candy! Amazing little candy store that is great for making memories with family and friends. I would come here every year with my grandparents and get their delicious chocolate malts. Definitely recommend this place to everyone who visits.
Heather Lloyd
The candy is great and it's awesome you get to see it being made, but the store is so claustrophobic it's hard to place an order and move.
Lillian McCandless
I have visited many different candy factories arpund the country. This is one of my favorites. Watching them make cinnamon drops was awesome. Well worth the visit
Christy Sharp
Oh my goodness!!! You really NEED to go here. Everything candy and good stuff too! The girls behind the counter were as awesome as the candy. Go back in time as you prepare to enjoy whatever you like. Today it was butterscotch coconut candy, milk chocolate (massive) raisins and toffee bars. Yum!!!
Amy Oakley
Tiny but cool. You can watch them make candy, they make sandwiches and ice cream I believe. We bought the homemade cinnamon candy. Love it.
Kayla Mickens
Omg I loved this place!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They give out samples and make all their candy in-house. They have more options then you can imagine. The museum was cute with all sorts of different candies and the original packaging. Overall it was a fantastic experience
Shawn Danford
My family and I went to Schimpff's Confectionery while on vacation. The store was lovely, and they have displays of old candies and jars that brought back great memories of grandma's house! We were also fortunate to meet Mr. and Mrs. Schimpff and watch a fresh batch of Red Hots being made. We were then given a sample of the still warm hard candy and it was magical. We would definitely recommend this shop and will surely stop in again if we are ever in the area. It was a wonderful experience and treasured memory.
Barbara Zino
This place is A MUST!! Everyone is ssssooo warm and inviting.
Thank you Laurie for
sharing the stores history, and candy recommendations.
Ethan DeGonia
This place was a must see. It was like walking into an old style candy shop. They have traveling salesman candy kits and older style candies. They also had candy for sale that I didn't even know existed anymore. We purchased some peanut butter cups chocolate caramels chocolate covered espresso beans chocolate covered orange peals. The quality is first class, though prepare yourself the prices are a little high.
Charlotte Edgerly
Love this candy store! Make it a point to stop every time we come through town! They also make candy in front of you during the weekends. My family is always happy to make a pit stop here on our way home.
Frustrated Opossum
You can get a whole lot of the Lego looking candy here for. Great price and plenty of other things too
I've had mixed experiences with the people working here and they're attitudes. Would still recommend a visit
Richard lubaki Mfumu
It amazing place. I heard about it from my prophet William Marrion Branham but today i saw it with my own eyes and even hate those candy. Glory to God.
Sharon King
I absolutely love Schimpf's Candy store! The raspberry chocolates are my favorite! Fun store to shop in with the added historical component about making candy. And sometimes you can watch them make candy!
Lady-Holly Of-Midway
Yummy candy, historical experience shop, great people and yummy shakes! You know you already want candy, so take the trip & enjoy yourself!
Adam Woodall
Awesome little down home candy shop with a lot of history on the walls and on the shelves. The owners both work there and you can watch them make the candy!
Dee Hello
Over priced, because it isn't any better than Whitmans, or Russell Stovers which are cheaper of the candies you can buy in stores. The store itself is historical, and preserved which is worth the visit.
Danielle Fernander
The atmosphere and candy are fantastic. The museum section of the store is fun. It's neat to see all the antique candy boxes, signs, jars, and equipment. They also use vintage/antique machines to make candy in the store, and you can watch them working. The staff are helpful and friendly. They have a small lunch counter, and sell old style malted milk and milkshakes/ice cream, and sandwiches.... the candy is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.. I've been going to Schimpff's since I was a child, and it never gets old!
John McNabb
Anise drops and Fish candy are favorites. If you visit on Wednesday have some pecan pie. It is very fresh and flavorful! :-)
Sarah Beeson Ambriati
Cute blast in the past candy shop. Fun to watch the demonstration on making red hot candies.
Mari Kay Dunn-Guffey
The candy and milkshake was awesome. Will be going back

Love all the candy and the place 8s so clean
Gary Coffey
Been going there for twenty plus years. Best collecton of sweets in the midwest. Prices might be high but you pay for what u get. Hundred of variety of candy. Great way to spend time watching them make the candy.
Stephen Pierce
Local candy store my family visits while they’re in town. My dad loves taking my son here. It has a great throwback vibe and a fun candy history room in the back. The candy’s pretty good too.
Melena Crawford
I can remember taking my kids here when they were young. We would walk or ride bikes and watch them make taffy or red hots, now i take my grandkids as well. The smells brought me back to even my childhood. Schimpff's is more than the local candy shop. They also serve lunch (And the desserts, of course, are to die for). The staff has always been super nice and helpful. If you haven't treated yourself to walk in and enjoy some delicious candy in a great atmosphere, you're missing out!
Amanda Frost
We came to get some candy boxes for Christmas gifts. They didn’t have what I had in mind but they were nice enough to make the boxes for me even though they were busy. Their candy is so good!
Dan Warren
Took my grandkids for some candy!
Melody Parish
Absolutely charming! I love this place. Everything is delicious, and stepping through the door is like stepping back in time. The candy museum is fun too, and the regular demonstrations of old fashioned candy making are really neat. They still use antique molds! They have a wide selection of sugar free sweets too, if that's your department. The lunch counter has amazing shakes and sodas along with lunch specials. A local favorite are the caramel covered marshmallow Modjeskas, named after a famous opera singer, and their red hots. The chocolates are perfect, my favorites.
June P
A favorite local spot I have enjoyed for nearly 20 years. The lunches are delicious and I never regret ordering a sundae! Love taking family and friends to pick out goodies and watch treats as they're made. The staff is generally very friendly, especially the owners.
Jess Wishon
Suuuuuuper crowded. Like too crowded for me. I get some anxiety in these types of situations--and not even due to Covid. This would be adorable if it was at about half the capacity it was last weekend. I didn't try the candy, but my daughter loved her strawberry ice cream cone.
Steven Broniarczyk
Joshua made a GREAT traditional chocolate soda.Make time to watch the redhot demonstration with the SChimpffs. It is informative and humorous and throwback to simpler times
Wendy Whitney
Great sandwiches for below average price. Potato soup and deviled eggs were also tremendous. Candy looks delicious but we haven't eaten any yet.
Brooke Wheeler
Love this cute local candy shop. The store is limited on space and is full of CANDY. The have a mini candy museum and if you go at the right time you can catch them making their famous red hots. They use antique equipment and still use traditions from over 100 years ago. Neat place to visit with delicious treats.
Kimberly Nevitt
I had a wonderful leisurely lunch with my daughter-in-law. I always have the cream cheese and olive sandwich with a chocolate soda. My daughter-in-law said the chicken salad was excellent. The candy selection is the best around, plus they have a large variety of "no sugar added" candies. If you have time, be sure to stop by the candy museum. The people who work here, including the owners, always have a smile to pass along.
Charles Paisley
This place has a lot to offer. The demonstration on making candy is a really neat thing to watch and takes about a half hour to 45 minutes. The place has a great sentimental value, and all the candy is delicious. Selection is huge. Prices are above-average, but not so high that you can't find something to enjoy. There are lots of great gift ideas here.
Tina Moczynski
Awesome place! Must stop for the candy making, and make sure you try the red hots. Definitely try the soda fountain. We're so glad that a local told us about this place it's a must stop now every time.
Joseph Robson
Absolutely great spot for candy and fellowship; sandwiches and soda too!
andy heitkemper
Really great people who remembered the two kiddos names, and we watched them make redhots! We also drank old-style soda jerk cherry cokes. If you have a sweet tooth and love local history, this is a great place to visit. There are reminders to be socially distant, and masks are required. Take your time here, because it won't be just the kids pointing and saying, "and I want some of those, and I want some of those, and I want..."
Dr Bubu
Totally worth it. Lots of yummy candy, a menu for those that want to enjoy a bite. Plus, the unexpected museum. This store has 100+ years and keeps the original machines running. Very friendly people, I really enjoyed my time here.
Zachary Newton
Walked in the middle of a tour. The guide was outstanding, taking plenty of opportunities to engage with the crowd (mostly kids when I was there on Saturday afternoon), and we all got a free sample at the end. Great collection of candy antiques, and greater collection of all sorts of candies.
Haley Smith
Absolutely delicious treats in the cutest little candy store I think I have ever seen. I love stopping in when we are in town. The nostalgia makes me feel like I'm in a completely different time. The staff is always kind and helpful and the store is just too precious to miss.
Shirley Laduke
Happy to see the candy store busy in the middle of this awful situation with the virus.
Everyone seemed to be having much fun picking up sweets for their loved ones for Valentine's Day. Everything looked delicious and I selected many things including my favorite cinnamon heart.
Julie Freese
Fabulous place that's been in business for 130 years! You can watch them making redhots from scratch and view a small candy museum. They also have a lunch counter and ice cream too!
Cassandra Stockley
Been going here since I was a kid with my Father Maurie Murphy. I love their peanut butter brittle and there famous red hots. Now I bring my children here. I am the 3rd generation to continue going to this great candy store because my Father's mother brought him here. They are super friendly and the best sweets you will ever taste. I live in Ohio now and drive back to Jeffersonville once a month just so I can have their delicious candy.
Paula Gibboney
Great shop! The owners put on a cute show while making candy, and the museum is quite fun. The cherry cokes from the soda counter are amazing, be sure to try! All workers very friendly and helpful...❤️🙂 …
Dianne Beatty
Went on a tour of how candy is made. They were great showing us. Had lunch in soda shop and then bought all our delicious candy.
James Stingley
Great place even has added diet soda to their ol fashion fountain machine
Sondra Odell
Always, always a pleasure! Been going there since I was a little girl with my parents. First rate handmade quality candy, they now serve lunch fare at a quaint luncheon area, with a real soda fountain and they have a terrific candy museum..really worth a visit when you're in the area! DELICIOUS!!!
Richard Williams
Such a great place and atmosphere. Very friendly staff and their candy is hard to beat.
Faye Bailey
One of my favorite places to visit and stroll thru all the great memorabilia. I enjoy the wonderful nostalgic atmosphere of a real soda fountain. The fabulous selection of candies is awesome. 💖💖💖 this 'sweet' place and the history behind it. …
Kathy Meuninck
Great little candy store. Again, I go there a couple of times when I'm in town and always return home with the hot cinnamon candies. Mainly because I've eaten all the rest of the stuff before I leave New Albany. It's a fun store great little Fountain area for food and drink and the expansion makes it a little easier to get around in there
katie snyder
This place has hand made confections that are sure to delight. They have demonstrations of candy making and let you sample some when they are done.
It's nice to know a place still exists that makes traditional hard candy and chocolates alike. Looking forward to the holiday season so I can get some ribbon candy.
Stephen Crider
Stunningly excellent! Wonderful hand made candies, old time soda fountain with real Coke products, and milkshakes, plus some of the best ham salad and chicken salad sandwiches we've had in many years. A true destination place to visit, both the shop and candy museum.
Shannon Schulz
I have been buying red hots from this store for quite a while, The chocolates are wonderful as well. It is a great place to take the kids to view candy being made by hand. The staff is friendly and the store and deli counter reminds you of an old time soda fountain.
Terri Gundlach
Saw this on the History channel years ago. Finally got to visit. They have a museum, area to watch candy being made (which you can schedule a tour in advance and see this), ice cream and soda shop and of course a huge selection of candy! I easily spent $100 on souvenirs and candy! The candy is the best! Will visit again!
Steph g
Love coming here. Fun to watch them make the candy. Even if they're not, it always smells fantastic. So far, everything I have tried has been delicious. Even their sandwiches at their deli counter. Usually crowded but moves pretty quick. Staff always friendly and helpful. A must visit when in the area.
Chris Bettencourt
This is a lovely little slice of the past. Old time soda fountain and lunch counter. Candies made right in front of you, at times by the grandson of the man who first opened the shop in the late 1800s. And the candy itself is delicious, with something for everyone. Try their clove candies for something really unusual. Their cherry cordials are a delicious classic. If you're at the Falls of the Ohio or just in the area I highly recommend stopping in!
Phil Schaad
Historic, fun, delicious, one of a kind, informative, nostalgic, great place to take kids of all ages.
They have a candy museum, but really the entire place is a living museum. A bit of late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries preserved into the Twenty-first century.
Please mark the "thumbs up" icon below if this review is helpful."

This place is an institution here in Jeff. This is an historic candy shop, a happy place, museum, nostalgic, great candy, all employees are friendly, nice Saturday lunch here, see owner make red hot candy too. A very Nice place to visit. Ice cream, sandwiches, soups, fountain coke, bourbon balls, and a variety of candy. It Can be busy although staff promptly accommodates everyone. Saturday lunch counter closes at 2 pm. I highly recommend. Kuddos to all of the staff. They make everything and the visit so right.
Donna Entrican
This is an amazing place to visit. The candy is delightful and the staff are awesome. Took my grandsons in and they were so impressed.
Kayla Erfurth
A wonderful place to visit and have a simple lunch. The candy, of course, is the main event and you won't be disappointed.
Suzanne W
Amazing atmosphere! and lots of cool old candies. Love how you can watch them make candie! The collection of candy items in the museum are one of a kind. A must to visit for any candy or history lover! PS lunch was great too!
Bruce Venable
What a great place to visit and buy the best chocolate treats you can find anywhere. I highly recommend making a trip to Schimpff's if you are anywhere close in the area. And if they are making red hots it smells really good inside and out on the sidewalk.
Professional Google Maps Reviewer
Great place for candy and the owners the sweetest and best people. The tour of how they make their candy is really fun and enjoyable. The prices are a tad bit expensive but that is EXTREMELY insignificant if you consider the experience you can get there.
Snowtiggs Snowtiggs
Kids loved being able to pick out their own candy. Candy was tasty. Enjoyable experience. Would recommend to anyone passing through the area like we were.
Scott
Classic old school candy store, with a large variety of options to choose from. They also have a deli with food items and all types of ice cream. First opened in the 1800's, this classic shop worth a stop! The only thing I didn't like was other brands of candy, resold with their name in small plastic bags. I think they should stick with their own homemade candy personally
Alden Sepmoree
This is an amazing stop while traveling!!! I now have a MASSIVE hankering for their in house made lemon drops!!! They are mostly know for their spicy red hots tho so depending on your taste they have the right thing for you!
Benny Senopole
This place is a Landmark to the New Albany Community! The Beat darn chocolate on this side of Utah! And the Lemon Drops and Red Hots... I just don’t have words to express them!!! I ask the whole community, during these time please support this candy store during these times! I suggest SCHIMPFFS FOR EVERYONE THIS VALENTINES AND MOTHERS DAY!!!!
S S
Owners Jill and Warren Schimpff are so sweet, no pun intended.
They demonstrated the making of their red hot cinnamon drop Candy and handed out samples from that demonstration.
If you are in the area, please stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent chocolates and hard candies. Something for everyone. One of a kind gem.
Jacquelyn McDuffee
We had a fantastic lunch and truly enjoyed the museum and all the neat retro candy! The soda fountain was an awesome treat and watching candy being made was there highlight of my seven year old's day!!
Kara-Jay Matthews
Amazing candy shop! Loved the history, the owners, the candy, the staff… it’s a must see!
Jack Stepro
Great old fashioned candy store. Stocked with every kind! mostly homemade! Demonstrations watching candy makers. Museum rooms. A lunch/ice cream counter and tables. Great place! Hard to leave without buying some!
James Sidell
Over 60% of their inventory is made on location. They have candy making demos several time a day, and give free samples of the freshly made candy. Awesome place to take kids or anyone who hasn't seen this historic (100+ year old) candy shop.
Angela Bowling
Pretty busy place. Bought red hots, of course, and sugar free chocolate covered jelly candies. Even though I am from Jeff, I had never eaten at Schimpff's so I had beef barley soup and tuna salad. Everything was very good and worth a return trip.
Jessi Jones
Fun place to go. My young children love it. My youngest was having a hard time making up her mind and the lady behind the counter offered her a couple of samples to help her make her decision. It made my daughters day. We always enjoy it. Thanks!!
digitalis303
This place feels like you stepped into a time machine and got out in the 1950s. There is an actual confectionery where you can watch them making candy and see lots of history on display. On the other side there's a malt shop style counter where my kids and I got chocolate milkshakes just like I'm sure they served in the old days. They also sell lots of various types of candy. And being walking distance from the big four bridge makes it a great destination for an adventure over into Indiana.
Amber Ellison
Wonderful family oriented place. The candy and food is to die for. It's a great place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner as well to bring the kids! The interior is gorgeous and holds so much history. Great place to stop in and well worth taking a look out. 5 out of ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars for sure!
Catherine Sutton
Staff very accommodating. Homemade candy is great. You can watch them make it on sight. They are expanding to a vacant building next door. Stop and have lunch - a little pricey. Buy good atmosphere. Shop the nearby shops.
Mira Montgomery
Their milk chocolate espresso beans are absolutely amazing! I had a craving for them, so I went in to get some, and also got a coconut delight truffle and a raspberry cream truffle, both were delicious too!
Nancy Lachut
Forget happy as a kid in a candy shop - this Granny was mesmerized with delight at all of the confections! Oh, the chocolates! Turtles! Salted dark chocolate caramels! And the Easter candies! An extra treat was watching cinnamon drops being made by hand (I know why they're called drops). Go to Schimpff's to rekindle memories and make new ones.
mary russell
Sugar free candy...yeah. old fashion store, quality chocolate, friendly people, even if busy...lots of help and checkout. Candy you can not find anywhere else. Lots of hand made and molded candy. Antique molds for holiday candy. I have been going here for 12 years. Always buy candy for gifts. Tours. Always fresh quality. I know because I am a food critique. These are the real deal.
Suzanne Olsen
This place is amazing! We caught the last half of the candy demonstration and I was mesmerized! I bought quite a bit of candy and had some ice cream while there. That was good, too! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Mr. & Mrs. Schimpff are the 4th generation of confectioners in this family business. I just hope the following generations step up soon to keep the legacy going into the next century!
K M
How can you not like this old time gem! Like stepping back in time.
Parking is easy, there's a large parking lot within close proximity of the store.
I've been going here since I was a little kid on my first field trip. They do candy making demonstrations with free tastings at the end of each demonstration. They make it fun and informative. The lovely couple that owns Schimpff's do the making and talking. She's a riot. It is pretty much word for word each time, but who cares! You could listen 7 times and still laugh.
I take people that come in from out of town by here when we are in Jeffersonville so that they can get the full experience.
Each year my local fire department does a Crusade For Children auction and we can always count on the cinnamon candy auctioning off for no less than $50. It makes a great donation item, and we really appreciate them doing this for us every single year. The people that go to our auctions all the time expect the cinnamon candy and are willing to give for the children to enjoy the cinnamon candy.
The Schimpff's confectionery candy ranges anywhere from chocolate covered pretzel sticks to Buckeyes to lemon hard candy drops. You can find just about anything you want in the store. They have hundreds of candy molds.
In the back of the store there is also an old Pharmacy Style soda fountain and Deli area. You can get root beer floats and original Vanilla Cokes with a chicken salad sandwich, if that's what you're into. I've not had anything that's been bad, and everything is pretty much handmade right in front of you.
Nate Peters
Often quite busy and a little crammed but it's such a fun place to go. They've got all sorts of delicious candies and milkshakes, and they do wonderful demonstrations. My personal favorite is their redhots, which are made right in front of the customers and can be bought warm.
Steve Gillette
It was just ok. Won't go out of the way to go there. Cinnamon candy was good. Peanut Butter cups were also good. Peanut Brittle was stuck together like it had been made weeks ago. Very sticky and hard to eat. Threw it away when we got home. Kroger bulk candy selection is the place to go. Tastes just as good and less than half the price.
Maxwell Malone (Wellitis)
I may be biased, because I have lived here all my life but I truly believe that this is the best candy store in the entire world. For the record I have been to multiple other candy stores in various locations throughout the country at least.
Kirk Statler
We've been there several times but always in a hurry. Had time Saturday after lunch to take our time. The place was much neater than I ever thought. They were making redhots & they offered us a "still warm redhot" to taste. The little museum was full of candy memorabilia & factoids. I found the candy roller & all of the roller drums interesting to look at.
Meshona Howard
Great place to get hand made candies. We were able to see them make cinnamon hearts and hand dipped salted caramels. Of course we had to buy some as well. Delicious!
Joseph Raczynski
Really liked their confections. They remind me of Whitman's sampler chocolates. In other words, they are very tasty, but not like the $3 per chocolate places.
Clayton Eckert (Clay-Vibes)
Cute little old candy shop with a charming atmosphere
Chuck Cotton
The place take you back in time to soda fountain bars, black and white chess type floors, candy makers hard at work making the candy there for you to see, such an amazing selection of candy, and just a feeling of being back in the poodle skirt days. Back to a much simpler time with one of the best things we had as kids,....CANDY. Lol. I highly suggest the red hots!!! They are famous for their red hot cinnamon candy, but it is all really good. Very nice place for a family trip or a nostalgia trip. Lol. You will definitely leave with smiles and a sugar rush. Lol. Plus there is a whole candy museum to check out before leave. =]
leigh wages
The place was very clean and the staff was really friendly. I suggest making sure you do a candy making demonstration while there. We called ahead and scheduled ours. The kids loved it! We were able to sample the candy after it was made too.
Tom Roberson
My favorite place in Jeffersonville. The owners are the sweetest people. They really take care of their customer's. Of course the candy is wonderful. I really enjoy eating at the deli. The chilli is awesome.
Patricia Beddoe
A walk back in time to a handcrafted confectionery. Fun to watch; yummy to eat. Unique candies for special occasions or to enjoy the moment. Loved having lunch there, too, so I could take my time.
Sabrina Stafford
This place is the coolest and most welcoming place in Jeffersonville IN. The coke float I had was the best I had ever had and we bought some candy its as alittle pricey but very worth it. You can also watch them make candy which is so much fun for kids.
Lee Thompson
I am a long-time customer and bring friends from out of town to see it, as I did with this most recent trip. My friend was able to see the candy manufacturing process, as the narrate the process for visitors to see and learn about candy. After watching lemon drops being manufactured, we explored the candy Museum which has a lot of their historic, and still used, tools, demonstrators, and other implements of candy business.
After watching the manufacture Candi we went over to their Deli and Retail Store and bought a wide variety of chocolates, all of which were delicious. They're Modjeska candy and peanut butter filled chocolates are absolutely delicious. Also worth noting is that all of their hard candies are made in house and are all delicious!
Yet another sweet, fun-filled visit!
Lauren Reilly
Love it! Candy is great. Museum is cool, and you can watch them make it. They've expanded the restaurant part so there seems to be plenty of seating now.
Carol Esser
It was quite busy since it was Small Business Saturday, but the demonstrations and samples were great! Lots of neat history to see, along with delicious candy! I especially enjoyed seeing some old-fashioned favorites!
Maria Malone
Lovely little local sweet shop in town. They had just made fresh cinnamon candies and were giving customers warm samples. They've been around since 1891! Such a nostalgic looking shop.
Ashley Hinckley
Kinda cool, but a bit cramped and cluttered. Wasn't a huge fan of the chocolate I got taste wise (appearance was beautiful). Was cool to see them making candy and all of the old memorabilia. I would definitely check this place out of you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
James Gibson
Eating a free sample, watching candy being made, and touring a nice selection of old candy-related items in the museum made for a nice visit.
There is no charge to visit the museum or to watch candy being made, and the free samples make it even nicer.
The employees were all friendly during my visit on May 22nd, 2018.
The store portion offers a huge variety of chocolates and other types of candy for sale. And the majority seemed to be candies made there at Shimpff's Confectionery.
I purchased a Cherry Coke and an individual piece of candy in addition to the free sample I got. The atmosphere of an old-fashioned candy store and soda fountain provided a nice experience.
Candy prices were a bit high. But that's good since it prevented me from making a huge purchase of candy that I didn't need!
At least one Louisville, Kentucky TARC city bus has a stop near Schimpff's Confectionery, and I rode a Louisville city bus to and from it.
A few blocks from Schimpff's (on the same street) is a nice Vintage Fire Museum that apparently has one of the largest collections of vintage fire-fighting equipment in the country. Consider visiting both Schimpff's and the Vintage Fire Museum the same day. The Fire Museum does have a $6 admission charge which includes a guided tour as well as self-guided browsing.
I recommend persons in the Jeffersonville, Indiana area seek to take several minutes or even an hour or so to visit this combination candy museum, candy store, and candy manufacturing facility. If you visit while they are making candy, it's an even better treat.
Cecilia Cuevas
Open since 1891 great museum to visit with all kinds of candies. You can see lemon drops made as well as chocolates.
Erik Moening
Excellent place to visit and learn some history of candy making. If you get there at the right time they make a batch of their red hots in front of you. They will give you a sample as well. Nothing better than a warm hard candy!
Eric Baldwin
This place is a piece of history and a special treat to those lucky enough to live in the Jeffersonville area. Try to go on a day when they're making candy in the shop, especially during the holidays. If you can't, at least you can enjoy the candy museum, soda fountain, and old department-store-style lunch counter that allows visitors to step back in time to simpler days.
John Venable
Great chocolate and hard candies. I've been here multiple times over the past decade or so and have never been disappointed with anything I've tried. Great place to stop and get some handmade candies!
Noella Whelan
I go to the candy shop about twice a year since I was a baby. When my family comes into town i admittedly bring them to Schimpff. Before my Great grandpa died we would send him there Black licorice and red hots all the way to Montana. Best candy shop in the world.
Chris Collett
The hand made candy (that you can watch them make) is the best! Beats any boxed candy hands down. The family that owns and operates it are the nicest people you could hope to meet, a real pleasure to do business with. I always feel welcome, and their sandwiches and malts are delicious.
Steven Davis
Thought I was just going into a candy store... Found a small "museum" of candy memorabilia and a how they make the candy show. The candy was delicious and the show was fun.
Definitely a location I will stop by when I can.
John Robert Klem
Quaint candy shop and museum. This place is a local gem! We go here every weekend so my daughter can spend some of her allowance and watch candy being made by hand. Expect the store to be packed with shoppers.
Valerie Schwartz
Wonderful selection of sweets, with some real antiques available as well, such as anise drops and horehound candies. Wonderful chocolates and saltwater taffy.
danj1701d
Three words: "You gotta go!" Schimpff's is a fun place for kids and grown ups alike. The little cafe has great food, and soda fountain drinks. The real treat though, is the candy making demonstration. Schimpff family members make the candy right before your eyes (it was red hots today) on equipment that is well over a century old, and very entertainingly narrate the process. It was about a 20 minute show, and it was fascinating. Best of all, there were free samples of the candy for the people watching. It's one thing to try a free sample, but Schimpff's takes it to a whole new level when you can enjoy a warm sample of the candy you just saw created from scratch before your eyes. Schimpff's is worth the trip; you and your family (even the kids) will enjoy it.
David Bare
This is where you go for chocolate, stop going anywhere else. Flavor the texture all of it is perfect, my favorite are the caramel pecan clusters but the Buckeyes or the chocolate covered orange peels the many varieties of Toffee; I could go on but I'm going to stop, again this is where you go to get chocolate.
David Coates
One my personal favorite places as well as a great experience for guests. Schimpff's is the highest quality confectionery, a candy museum and a great people experience all rolled into one. A true "made in American" business!
Tony Watterson
Went there for the wife's birthday watched them make cinnamon candy. Bev had a fatal turtle' sundae (free on your birthday)and 3 hours later we finally found our way out!it great
Chelley McMahon
Wow! Includes enough curiousness to keep you here for possibly hours! Candy museum with old equipment, packages, advertising for many candies. Watch candies being made and enjoy a sample in interactive sessions. Old timey soda fountain with snacks and lunch you can enjoy at in house tables. Two rooms of candy displays and cases. Peanut butter meltaways, coconut haystacks, bonbons, caramels, licorice, toffees, taffies, drops, cherries, so very much more! Holiday candies. Don’t miss the horehound candies too. Great place to visit with children or reliving the candies of your childhood. Street parking. No admission charge. Most candies around $22 per pound but so worth it.
Brad Borchert
Great little candy shop! Would highly recommend stopping here if you can! The owners are super friendly and they give demonstrations on how they make their candy. This is definitely a must-visit location if you're in the Louisville area!
Alexis Neuman
A unique candy store with a rich history. It’s family owned and the owners demonstrated the making of red hots. Milkshakes were amazing and the employees were helpful and polite!
Robert Arnold
AMAZING PLACE!!!!! Check website or call for time when they make the cinnamon drops. A cinnamon candy for everyone. Kids loved watching them make the candy, trying some then heading into the store front with a couple dollars each for some amazingly good candy.
Patrick Crowley
This is the coolest candy shop. Thank you for preserving your craft. God bless you! 🇺🇲 …
Joshua Jorden
The demonstrations of the candy making are very intriguing, and so is the mini museum. The candies are very tasty and the variety is nice. The red hots are my personal favorites, but what ever you get is going to be very good.
Michelle Shepherd
Ahh the variety of Easter goodies! Fantastic customer service, they walked me to my items and I saw another employee following a customer with her basket and making suggestions. Modjeskas come in normal and tennis ball sizes. Mustn’t forget the hard candies, either. Lemon and cinnamon are my favorites but everything else ties for third.
Ruth Harlan
I love the candy they were very busy I would recommend anyelse who needs candy for a special occasion
Sarah
How can you give a bad review to this 100+ year old candy parlor?! Amazing just amazing! Plus they have a candy museum and you can watch them making there delicious candy by hand just like they always have! Take the kids and go!
Christi Miller
We are from Chicago, but had our wedding in Louisville. We had stopped at Schimpff’s on the way home from a trip to meet with our vendors and really wanted some of their candy for our favors so I ordered several pounds of red hots and lemon drops. There was a little hiccup with the order and it was a few days before our wedding and I was without candy…yikes! I gave them a call and, not only did they immediately overnight our order, they also included a personal note and called the next day to make sure we received it. Aside from their great product, this was such a testament to how they do business and what great people work there. Thank you, Schimpff’s!!
Jane Schladand
A Family Tradition. I don't care how crowded it is, it is worth the wait to get the red hot creams and malted milk balls. Everyone has his or her favorite candy, and I just found a new favorite. I dream of this place between visits.
Mary Ann Jones
Delicious candy made on the premises. Antique candy machines, molds and displays. Wonderful place to take kids. They can see candy being made. Friendly owners.
John Wharton
Wonderful museum and candy store.
Allen Shuler
Awesome Place for Candy and History.
Kela Adams
A "must see" shop on the main Street located close to Indiana end of a historic pedestrian bridge that crosses the Ohio River to Louisville, Kentucky. Schimpff's is a family-owned business that has operated more than 125 years. Includes a tiny lunch counter, the original soda fountain and a vast array of candies. Fixtures, equipment apparently are original. Owners Jill and Warren are always present and often can be seen making candy in the fascinating candy museum.
Sara LT
I got my son a chocolate turtle here...like, an ACTUAL turtle made of chocolate. The vibe is something right out of history and the candy tastes like something only someone's distant relative could make. The atmosphere and the goodies combines made for a magical experience, not just for my 3 year old son, but for the sweet tooths of his mom and dad!
P Ables
Best cinnamon candy ever !!!
Employees super informative. I think this should be everybody's first stop
Jason Munch Jacobs
Amazing candy, great variety of chocolates to choose from. Nice staff, always helpful. Place is a bit small and gets crazy crowded near the winter holidays.
Robert Williams
Absolutely love this place. I recommend spending some time looking at all the old candy memorabilia. Then buy some of their delicious candies before you go.
Mike Woodward
An old fashioned candy store to buy great candy and sweets at. They have a great demonstration on how the make they candy canes at Christmas time. Everyone can check out there lovely store at, schrimpffs confectionery Jeffersonville Indiana. Highly recommend everyone to visit this store when in the area.
Erica Thompson
Love this place .... They treat you like your part of their family.... Always wonderful customer service
Andrew Carroll
Super fun experience for kids. I would call ahead to find out when they make the candy. They do a show explaining how they make the candy and the woman who explains it is super funny.

I LOVE this place! I have been coming here since I was a child, and it always gets better. They are always busy especially around the holidays so come prepared to see a few people waiting to get their order taken. The staff is always friendly and helps move people along.
Linda Komarck
Awesome ! So many yummy things. Ate lunch there. Staff was really nice. Watched cinimom drops being made. Terrific place. Somewhat confusing to get there. But I know where to go. Been in business since 1889
Debbie Hannon
I have loved Schimpff's since I was a little girl and brought my boys here on Saturdays when they were growing up! They have added on and it's even bigger and better! Candy making demonstrations, museum, lunch counter and ohhhh the history of the place! Old fashioned soda fountain and handmade candy. It's a must visit stop in our little city of Jeffersonville!
Joe Hamilton
Great nostalgic charming candy store, and the candy is awesome too.
Rage_ King2005
I absolutely loved it for my first time and there candy is so good also there cherry coke is amazing u should consider it❤
Erin B
Lots of people clearly enjoyed it. It was super crammed so I didn't stay much, plus they don't have ingredient information, so I didn't know if I could eat their candy or not (need Gluten free). I won't be back because of that, but everyone around me seemed happy.
Thomas Loftus
Literally one of the best kept secret gems in Downtown Jeff, this candy show has any kind of candy you can think of and most of it is made in factory next door. Soon as you walk in, your overtaken by the sweet aroma and it's literally like being a kid in a candy store.
Judy Little
We saw candy canes and cinnamon candy being made. It was a nice visit. We bought a few christmas gifts. I still prefer our old cinnamon candy recipe, but theirs is good.
Sarah Mackey
Cute little shop. Staff is very friendly. The raspberry cream is the best.

Have so many different variations of chocolate

Great candy! Really friendly owners. Gave me a free can of Horehounds because we got to talking about how my grand dad used to keep these. Defiantly going back especially for gifts.
Hannah Harper
Very nice place, amazingly good candy, very rude staff. Older lady was rude, younger teens working there had awful attitudes. We wanted to look around more but considering how rude everyone was we wanted to just get our chocolate and get out.. won’t be coming back, but the candy was very good.
Andy Schwartz
So many things to try, and so many candies that take us down memory lane.
