I have practiced medicine for over forty years and have to say that I am impressed with two individuals at The Medical Store who helped me with an urgent medical condition of my own.
While dealing with dangerously low oxygen levels, post covid, and living in rural Vermont I spent 24 hours trying to obtain a nebulizer with which to administer inhalant medication in hand from my pulmonologist. My pulmonologist located the equipment at The Medical Store. I spent all day earlier calling other suppliers and was constantly put on hold, tansfered back and forth between the same departments, and discontected.
The Medical Store immediately indicated that they had the equipment that I despirately needed and that they would deliver it to me. The challenge was to get it to me quickly as a snow storm was bearing down on us and they indicated that they might not be able to get it to me until the next day. This was understandable but my condition would not wait that long. I asked if we could drive more than an hour north to pick up the equipment and they agreed to accomodate this. My wife jumped in our very snow capable truck and headed north. As she was leaving, my wife noted that the GPS said she would not get to there facility until 4:47PM and the office closed at 5PM. She was obvious concerned because of the impending weather and my precarious situation.
I located the phone number for The Medical Store on the internet and called to ask if someone could wait a few minutes later if my wife did not arrive by 5 PM. My call was diverted to a call center rather than being answered at the Burlington location she was traveling to . I was lucky to connect with Jason who made every effort to contact the Burlington facility but was unable to do so. He offered to connect me to the facility but i simply wound up talking to an machine again and could not speak with a person. My frustration grew as I monitored my wifes travels and realized that she would not meet the 5PM deadline even as my oxygen levels remained precarious and the predicted snow started to fall.
I called Jason back and he tried to call the Burlington office once again and received the same recorded answering machine. Rather than dismiss my situation as so many others did in the last few days, Jason suggested that he might be able to contact Burlington thorugh an internal chat session if someone in that office was online. Jason succeeded and before I was off the call with Jason , Kirsten H, general manager, was calling me on my other phone.
I spoke with Kirsten and she could not have more considerate and accomodating. She assured me that she would wait for my wife's arrival and asked if she could do anyting more for me. A short time later i received a call from my wife who now sounded calm and relaxed even though she faced a one hour ride home in a snow storm. She let me know that she had the needed equipment in hand and then spent the rest of the conversation teling me how wonderful Kirsten is.
I would suggest that upper management revise internal communications so that employees have a private phone line so urgent communications can take place between facilities. Give the employees the tools to suceed and grow your company. This is absolutly essential in a medical enviorment. The system gets zero stars from me. I pray that upper management will listen to this plea and improve this negative energy that distracts from otherwise wonderful employees.

After dealing with the typical supply chain issues in 2022, TMS finally received a CPAP machine which was made available to me in an efficient fashion. The TMS team set me up for the CPAP "fitting" and they responded quickly to adjust to my schedule to make the appointment happen. Amanda W was an excellent consultant, answering my endless questions and providing a lot of technical and practical information so that I made the best choices for CPAP accessories and learned how to operate the equipment. She was really good and she clearly cared about her clients. Equally important, she made herself available for follow-up communications, as well as that of the TMS support team, so that I can continue to receive support along my CPAP journey, given this is not a one-and-done process. After dealing with another company that made me wait literally nearly 6 months for my CPAP machine, the medical store took me in and was able to get me a CPAP unit within weeks. Not only that, Amanda from the medical store made it clear to me everything I need to do to make use of this machine, and gave me her direct line and email address in case I run into any issues at all.
She was very attentive, clear, and precise on her instructions.
Each time I called, I spoke to someone enthusiastic to help.
This was not what I was used to with the other company that I was dealing with and it was a welcome change.
You do have a choice in who you work with for CPAP machines despite Vermont being a small place. I sincerely suggest you choose the medical store.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience here yesterday! They quickly and painlessly provided me with equipment I needed and made the billing simple. They educated me on what I needed and were very friendly.
I needed parts for my CPAP, and they had it ready for me by the time I arrived. Even better, they provided new filters, tubes, etc. I needed a prescription from my primary care (easy) and they contacted the Vermont Medical Sleep Disorders Center in Essex and got my sleep study. With these two documents, The Medical Store will bill my insurance provider.
If you need CPAP parts, there is no one better than The Medical Store. If you have a CPAP and don't ever replace your filters and masks, call The Medical Store. I believe that there are many of us in the Essex area that haven't been properly educated on what we should be doing to keep our CPAP devices in order, and The Medical Store can help!

At first my experience with them was horrible, it took forever to get my equipment and to even get an appointment to get measured for the equipment. Then I found they did not properly measure me and I ended up with the wrong size. Things have improved, although it is primarily because now I only have to deal with them when I order supplies. However on my last order they sent me the wrong size again! I am pretty sure the reason for the ineptitude is due to understaffing and the company not wanting to hire enough people to do the job correctly and also I question the qualifications of some staff.
