The staff here was so friendly! Pricing was a touch much, but I would gladly pay what I did because of the atmosphere. Well lit, plenty of product, super helpful staff and clean. You can tell the staff take pride in their store. Beautiful. I can not wait to go back!

I don’t know if I’ll have enough space to write about all the things I love here. Basically a mini convention, they got so much new stuff when I went. This hidden gem on newbury st is a must see tourist attraction. If you go to the newbury comics across the street don’t spend any money there and save it for Anime Zakka cause you’ll find so many things that you want here. They had so much niche anime merchandise. The amount of new stuff they had was crazy. They have gigantic plushies, limited edition rare gundam, spy family, chainsaw man, berserk, Miku, literally anything you could ask for. The studio ghibli stuff there was amazing, some collector items I’ve never seen before. I took pictures of everything so check it out. Definitely ask for specific merchandise as I introduced myself as a local guide and they even let me see their storage! The amount of extra merch I saw in there was mind blowing. If it is not on the floor you have to ask and they will most likely have it in the back. They have so much limited edition stuff coming soon and as someone from Japan, I would say that this is a paradise in America. Lastly, the staff was amazing. You see all the reviews about the staff and they are all spot on. The staff is sooooo nice and helpful. Sorry for the long review, and thank you Henry(owner) for the great hospitality.

They had a lot of boot legs, and their pricing on legit merchandise was high. Not just "we need to cover our space" but double MSRP on current catalog items. I inquired on some vintage items that had no price. I'm fairly confident they pulled a price out of thin air rather than attempt a reasonable price point.

This place is AWESOME! We are in town from South Carolina and had to stop by this place. Let me tell you when I say I am so impressed it's a understatement. The store has everything and is such a unique, well organized and put together store. Then to top it off the staff is top notch. They went above and beyond without hesitantion to take good care of us. We will be back next time we are in town. Thanks again!

Leaving my first review ever just to let people know how absolutely awesome this place is! Cane in with my friends after visiting uniqlo and muji and discovered my new favorite spot in boston!!! Figures keychains posters basically any fan collectible you could ask for from an anime series they got it. Employee Tyler even brought out some cool gudetama stuff for me from the back 😵 never hurts to ask! thank you and I'll be back soon:D

I always enjoy coming here because it’s the only place where I can find good quality and authentic figures. Staff are super friendly and always willing to assist with whatever you need, making it a comfortable environment to shop in. The vibes in here are 10/10, anime is always playing on one of the background tv’s. Been coming to anime zakka since it’s location back in Harvard and have never had an unpleasant experience since. Definitely my go-to place for any anime related items. Including my favorite purchases from there in the pictures. :)

First I just want to say that it would not be a trip to Boston without visiting Anime Zakka. My daughter and I come here as often as possible, we absolutely love this store and the people who run it. Everyone is so knowledgeable and so friendly and super helpful. It has never been a disappointment, and the quality of the items we have purchased has been top-notch. I will also say the pricing is more than fair as many of these items are difficult to find in the US. If you or someone you know appreciates anime, this is the place where you can go to find just about everything. Cannot wait to come back again soon. First I will start by saying, I called to find out what time they were closing and was told they would stay open a little later for us. They 100% stayed true to their word and made our whole experience extremely enjoyable. Tyler went above and beyond to ensure I left a satisfied customer. The prices were also great, especially for the quality and selection provided.

These are the type of stores that small neighborhoods are missing. They offer unique and distinct products for individuals of all ages. They have an interesting collection of gundams, some of which are limited edition or hard to get. I highly recommend visiting this store even if you're not familiar with the products they sell

Visited while on the trip to Boston the everybody on staff was pleasant and friendly. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and asked if I needed helped. The owner I think was very knowledgeable about the products he was selling. If I'm ever in town again I would stop in again. Just for the experience alone. Not only do they carry a wide selection of figurines/plush/various other merch catering to any anime fan, but their store layout and atmosphere adds to the customer experience. All staff was friendly, with the male employee on the floor (didn’t catch his name) went above and beyond to satisfy me (offering multiple trips to the back to show me other products based on my personal interests). It was my first time there and i’ll definitely be back :)

So sad the store in Cambridge got closed down due to the pandemic. They always keep up with the most popular anime (and games). The space is tight, so not everything is included here. I wish they had more anime-themed household items instead of none related characters like pusheen.

Great little store on Newbury street. Unique Pokémon and other anime items (plushies, bags, keychains, cards, collectible figures etc.) kind of what you might find on a trip to Japan. Expensive, but the browsing experience and the excitement of the kiddos makes it worth it.

There's not a huge selection, but what they do have is nice, such as many Miyazaki movie keychains and plushies, bags, some Vongola rings from Reborn, Pokemon plushies, a few types Pocky, printed shirts, and various other things that are rarely seen in other shops. It's a small shop but very neat and clean.

I spent nearly an hour there browsing around! The selection is much more focused on currently popular series (Demon Slayer, JoJo, One Piece, etc), but there's so much to choose from. I was very excited to be able to find Genshin Impact merch outside of a convention. The staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to open up cases and go to the back to find anything you were interested in. Definitely would recommend.

Great experience, could have more varied selection! This place has such a cozy, comforting atmosphere. Pokémon S1 and Demon Slayer were playing in the store, which gave a nice nostalgic and modern contrast, creating a timelessness to it. Most of the merch offered are figurines. There was a very small sticker assortment — I would've liked to see more. Some nice keychains but could've had a wider selection. I purchased an All Might sticker for $2 which is the cheapest item in the store. I also purchased a $24 Baby Roaslina plushie, which definitely was overpriced but as a collectible that I haven't seen in a store before, I decided to buy it.

The best place for anime gifts. I visited Boston for winter break from England and I found so many gifts for all my friends and grandkids back home! The customer experience is superb, employee with the Naruto headband helped me get everything I needed and even went out of his way to show me some limited edition products from the back. If you are ever on Newbury St, you have to visit no matter what.

Small store right across from Newbury Comics that is wholly focused on, you guessed it, anime. It's very heavy on popular anime series/movies, Studio Ghibli, and Pokemon/some other Nintendo products. It's all merch like posters, pins, dolls, but also offers some home goods. There's 3 TV Screens that play different anime movies/shows and it's entertaining to stop and watch as you shop. It's fun to browse and a must-visit if you're a Studio Ghibli/anime/Pokemon fan!

The staff were really nice, and I got some good recommendations from them. Also, I found poppin cooking candy kits for $6 when I have been searching for them, and the other times I have found them (at other stores) were at least double that price. This shop is great for buying gifts for those anime fans or Japanophiles in your life. There so so many cool and cute things with varying prices and fandoms. I recommend stopping in the next time you're in Harvard Square.

Wonderful and vast selection of cute Japanese and anime goods. Gundam kits, figures, plushies, and more! Though some things are pricey it is well worth it when the item is quite hard to come buy. The staff are super sweet, especially the owner!

A nice variety of anime memorabilia! In their new location, Anime Zakka has a lot more space to spread out and show off lots of fun merchandise from popular animes both old and new. (For example, they had a lot of stuff from My Neighbor Totoro, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Demon Slayer.) They had a ton of cute pokémon plushies too. I'm still a bit nostalgic for the previous anime store in this building (Tokyokid) and its delightful selection of more obscure merchandise and media, but I'm really impressed by how much Anime Zakka has grown since it first opened, how much easier it is to find things here, and how nice their variety of merchandise is now.

Great anime store, for collectables, but their focus is definitely on Miyazaki merch and everything else is an afterthought. But everyone should visit these stores at some point because the owners are extremely friendly and there are always people to talk to in the store and it is very fun stop by when you are in town

Great store that's a longtime Cambridge landmark/destination. Hard to find Japanese products that you're just not going to find anywhere else in New England. Been visiting for many years and the staff is always friendly and engaging. SanRio & Miyazaki fans will always be surprised by the fun things they can find here.

I love stopping in here every time I go to the Greater Boston area. Figures from many popular series & games, posters, keychains, backpacks, and other otaku apparel. Friendly staff! They also have a lot of Gundam stuff, if you're into that. Plus, all the Hi-chew and Pocky you can eat! Great to see a place like this, since the only other way for me to buy this stuff is to buy it online. Their prices aren't marked up too much, I definitely recommend!

Descent little anime shop. They have a okay selection of anime memorabilia. The issue is that many of their items are from cheaply make and come apart easily. They are willing to so refunds and replacements but still would be nice to have it not fall apart at all.

If you're a Studio Ghibli fan like me, you'll love Anime Zakka. They carry all sorts of figurines, stuffed animals, apparel, posters, and more with Studio Ghibli characters and scenes. They may have had other stuff too, but all I could see were the giant stuffed Totoros!!! Totoro tee shirts!!! Stuffed cat bus!!! Sqeee!!!

It's very good shop. Easy to find , customer friendly, it looks Japanese Anime shop. BGM is also Japanese songs. Of course,due to the center of Boston,the space is not large, however the goods themselves are caught up Japanese recent trends.(and most popular ones also)

A decent store for people interested in Japanese anime/manga. They have a slim selection but seem to change up the stock occasionally. However, most of the stock they sell are replicas/un-official merchandise. If you want to get something here as a present for someone, make sure that they're okay with that first! Edited for owner response: Clearly the service here is prompt because the owner replied literally within 2 days of this review. To clarify, the figures seem mostly legit from what I saw, but the keychains, jewelry, bags, and clothing looked all knock-off (missing licensing tags, company engravings, etc). Basically, the apparel was both not legit and could be bought online for cheaper, but the figures (and possible some sanrio goods) seemed authentic.

Pretty small place with a focus mainly on the more mainstream series. Most of what they sell are figures, posters, and accessories like pins and hats. They have some Blu-rays, mostly of Studio Ghibli movies, but nothing else media-wise. If that's what you're looking for, Newbury Comics is down the street and has a good selection. Other than that, staff is friendly and generally knowledgable.
