Reviews of Keystone State Park
Arquis
First time in this beach and we love it! It's very nice and clean, there is a playground for the kids, there is food concessions, a lot of parking spots, a very large (and clean) bathroom with showers and dressing room. It wasn't crowded and the sand was very soft. Next time we are planning to see the rest of the park. So far is our favorite beach
Brittany Mowery
My family and I absolutely love Keystone and have been visiting the park to swim, camp, and hike since the early 90s. We decided to spend this Mothers Day at the lake in memory of our late mother who passed away in 2020. Keystone truly was her favorite place to visit. We had a great time showing our kids all of the fun places we used to hike to when we were kids. They thoroughly enjoyed fishing, playing on the dock and taking a little boat ride around the lake. We can't wait until the weather warms up so we can come up to swim for the day!

Clean area, peaceful. I've been camping, swimming, fishing and boating at Keystone for over 25 years & it's never let me, my friends or loved ones down. The addition of facilities & play area behind the beach is very welcomed & offers a bit more for children to choose from aside from bech & water. Well done.

My girlfriend, dog, and I love to visit keystone through our the year. It's a great place to spend a warm summer day. We often walk the trails and around the lake which is always a pleasant walk. We also started recently biking around the park which adds another level of fun to our trip. We love to take our dog to get some exercise and swim in the lake. Dogs are not permitted in the designated swim zone/beach area however they are permitted in the boat launch. He always enjoys his time there.

The Hillside campground was okay. It is dog friendly, and mostly the dogs were well behaved and not noisy. The sites are fairly close together. Also, there are several sites that were extremely muddy. The fire ring didn't have an adjustable grate, which we prefer. The bath house was kept decently clean, but it could use updating. It would also be nice to have the park info and campground info brochures at the bath house. We had to go to the park entrance to find those. There wasn't consistency with the water temperature in the showers, so some of our group had luke warm showers. We are new to hiking, and found it a bit difficult finding the trailheads. We know enough to look for the colored tree markers, but usually couldn't see them until on a trail a bit. We enjoyed the beauty of the lake and the surrounding area. There are a lot of picnic tables to just sit and relax or fish, or have get family get togethers. We would camp here again, but it isn't on the short list.

Great lake for families! They have a wide grassy lawn and beach with swimming area. They have picnic areas, a snack stand, and bathrooms with changing rooms and showers. Very convenient amenities. We love kayaking or SUP on the lake and there is even a boat house where you can rent them. Highly recommend this lake!
Russell Boyda
This park is very clean! No alcohol/ cigarettes permitted. There's a nice beach, beach houses, concession stands, grills, cabins, and camp sites. There is a swim area. The water is [lake] water but it's not too bad!

We rented four of the modern family cabins for a week for an extended family vacation. It was our third PA State park we have done this in ... and was a great experience.
After spending a week at Black Moshanon and Ricketts Glen in past years, I must say this was our favorite.
The park is kept in better shape than the other parks (though none are bad) and the grounds crew must be complimented.
There's also a few extra amenities that were nice .. at the lake / beach area you can "check out" things like sports gear, corn hole, etc by just giving them your license. The snack stand was top notch and the bath and restroom area were very spacious and clean.
The cabins were great as always and have the standard two room setup (one full and the other room has two bunk beds) that all state parks have. It's so nice to have the open floorplan with couch and two chairs next to the full kitchen area and dining room table that seats 6.
The kitchen is great with a microwave and full oven and range .. as well as a full size refrigerator. We cooked all our meals and everything worked great.
You'll have to bring everything .. cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc, but it's well worth it.
The cabins are all semi private and spaced at a nice distance from each other. With renting 4 of them, we were able to have our own space .. but could easily walk to each other's cabins and the kids floated between them all with ease.
The beach area and boat launch area are within walking distance of the cabins .. but it's a little hike. We decided to drive down to bring all our stuff easily.
We will definitely be back in the future.

Camp site was nice, but the camp was busy! Lots and lots of kids, which is great, but it was really chaotic. Don't misunderstand me! I love that parents are getting their kids outdoors and off the electronics, but for us it was crazy. Keep them camping though. There are several water taps throughout the campground, but there is only one.... Only one... For both campgrounds... That you can fill up your camper fresh water tank. That's crazy. When we got here at 6:30 there was a line 6 campers deep waiting to fill up, and the tap flowed very very slow. It was only after we were mostly full that someone came by and suggested you have to open the valve aggressively to get it to flow. One tap to fill all these campers is ridiculous.

Hello, Keystone State Park us a really wonderful place to go to get away from everything!! We stayed at one of the family cabins.. These cabins are well built and come with everything you would need for a nice family getaway. Ours slept 6, and has running water , shower, toilet, large living room area, stove , microwave, sink, refrigerator, furniture... Bedrooms are one master bedroom and a two bunk bedroom that sleeps four... It is well lit , lots of windows for air circulation.. very woodsy, with charcoal grill and a fire ring!! Nice yard for kids to play in.. For fishing the lake is right below the cabin area ! We were there during the end of the remnants of the hurricane system... Just nice to listen to the rain and relax.... Cabins are also in use all year round , too !! God Bless, Keith

My family went to visit the beach area at the Keystone State Park and we were more than satisfied with our option. On Saturday morning of a hot Summer, there wasn’t a huge crowd of people which made us happy, especially during pandemic times. The place also has a vendor with a few food options like a tasty French fries that was a huge surprise for us. If you have children, take them to the beach and they’ll be super happy.

Great place to rv camp. Friendly atmosphere. Lots decent size. Only reason 4 stars it's not full hookup. Beautiful lake to take our canoe on. Nice place to bike. We stayed in lot 77.
Rebecca
We go here for the hiking trails. Nice to have these trails so close to home. So beautiful this past Fall!

We stayed at Modern Cabin #3 at Keystone Lake State Park. It was one of our best vacation stays. The cabin was clean, spacious with good furniture, appliances, ample closet space. The lake is walking distance from the cabin. We had fun swimming, kayaking and boating in the lake.
Karla Kalber
Very clean. Lots of picnic areas, walking trails. Plenty of room for canoeing or boating, kayaking and many more water activities. Some of which you can rent there. And if your thinking about camping, Well let me tell you.. they have that also!!! And with that, you get your own private entry to the Beautiful Keystone Lake. And you (The campers)your own dock for your boat or canoes ect.
mika nika (debelaire)
Nice new bathrooms checked out boat launch area took nice photos would be nice to have a cookout with family and kayak walk trails
Shane Hoffman
Excellent experience here. Easy to find and convenient access to the lake area - kids enjoyed fishing. Even the slightly slanted campsite was not a big issue.
Everyone from the rangers to the camp hosts to the other campers were great!
diehlbs7
What an awesome little park. It's well kept and there was a ton of fall rehabilitation work underway. Recycling bins and well placed garbage cans ensure a nearly litter-free facility. Numerous people were fishing, dog walking, and enjoying lunch at the picnic tables. There was even rehab work underway on their mine drainage treatment system. Most other visitors were congenial. DCNR staff were all friendly and busy. Cabins, Yerts, primitive and RV camping are present. A snack and bait shack is on the premises, as are a beach, playground, ballfield, and numerous pavilions. The visitors' center was under renovation. We'll be back for more in-depth exploring!
Anne Mitchell
I struggle with how to rate this, but I'll try. Tent campers beware, and *be* aware. Most of the tent sites are at odd angles, and not flat at all. So you will very likely be sleeping at an angle of some kind. For us, it was a downward slope, so we were ever so slowly sliding down in our tent. Some of the tent sites looked even, but I don't know how I could have found that out while booking. Just about all the RV sites are flat/even, but then you'd be setting up on rocks/gravel/cement.
That aside, it is a beautiful state park, with friendly, active rangers. The bath house was nice, and had a sink for dishes.
You're going to deal with normal family campground sounds, music, kids laughing/screaming/crying. But you'll get that at most Campgrounds. I'd definitely come back, but I'd be far more selective of what site I'd choose.
Charles H
This is a mama bear of state parks - not too big, not too small, but just right.
There are 2 campgrounds here. The Hillside has 40 sites and 11 modern cabins with one (No 11) being ADA accessible. See my picture of cabin no 10. I found it to be a little more secluded and nicely situated in the woods.
The Lakeside campground has 59 campsites and 3 camping cottages. Cabin No 1 is a beauty. (see photo) It's right on the lake with a lakeside picnic table and boat launch next to it.
The Keystone Lake is clean and has a nice sandy beach area with a big grassy area in front of it. Shaded picnic tables can be found at each end of the beach. For a large group, pavilion no 2 is very nice (see photo). Somewhat private, it has a large parking area and ballfield nearby.
There are 6 trails in the park. The Lakeside Trail is an easy trail around the lake also popular for dog walking. The Davis Run Trail in the northeast section of the park is the longest.
There's also a visitor center and separate office in the park.
With it's compact layout, everything at Keystone is readily accessible and enjoyable.

Nice little park with a lake for fishing and kayaking. The campground was open for the first day of trout season.
Michelle Richard
Very nice park. Nice large sight with privacy.Only stayed 1 night. Did not use facilities. Woman in the office was very nice and helpful. My only complaint would be the pet owners with unruly an barking dogs. To give owners a plus .. I didn't see any poop!!
Also a great big THANK YOU! to the folks who let us know we weren't supposed to park our truck in the grass. We are from out of state and did not know that, saved us a fine.
Arielle Novak
I was shocked to find such a nice little beach in our area. You can bring your own little grill if you want to. No dogs at the beach area or water. The water is kinda gross but it was hot so we didn't care and the bathroom was even more disgusting but I've seen worse I guess. The showers use freezing cold water so good luck getting the little ones in. This place is free though so its a great spot to have some fun in the sun. I went another time earlier in the day and the restrooms were clean so its hit or miss.
Sara Lingenfelter
Stayed several nights at a modern cabin. Great location with easy accessibility with many landmarks across southwest PA. Was not here when the beach was open but looks like a great place to swim and boat on the lake. Can't wait to come back!
Rebecca
What a beautiful lake! The views are breath-taking. We rented a boat with a motor and spent three hours fishing. They stock the lake every two weeks. You pay by the hour, I think it was $35 an hour for the largest boat they had? That's what we got. They have a couple different types to pick from including kayaks and fishing boats with/without motors. They ended up giving us a little money off the usual rate, very nice and helpful people. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a lovely way to spend your day or weekend. It's a local treasure.
Dustin Hattenburg
Love the modern (family) cabins, great area for camping & lake fun
Holly Weiss (HW)
Keystone State Park is an amazing place. There is a lot to do in this park. You can rent boats kayaks, paddle boards, and small motor boats to name a few. There is also a beach and a park. If you are more into less crowds there are hiking trails and a couple dozen places to fish off the shore line. If you like camping Keystone has tent camping, yurts, cottages rv hook ups and morden cabins that have personal showers and bathrooms. They are also pet friendly in the park and have areas you can camp with pets. The park is always clean and maintenance. You will see a lot of wildlife like snakes, muskrats, various birds and turtles.
Walt G
Great lake, everything you need is available. Beach boats, camp grounds, fishing.
Ramona Swetz
We camp alot at this park, not a far drive, always clean and very beautiful. We were just there for their halloween festivities and it was wonderful. The park workers really do a great job! The beach area is also well kept in the summer for swimming.
Daniel Troyer
We were camping here with family in one of the cabins for about 5 days. We were very impressed with how well everything was taken care of. The bath house was very clean and the boats were a great experience as well. We hope to come back again. Would definitely recommend.
Alex Palmer
A great spot near New Alexandria, PA for families, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors will find a beach and its associated parking lot on the Eastern end of the lake, which is one of the main highlights of the park. Concessions are open during the summer (beginning Memorial Day Weekend) from 10 am until 6 pm Sunday through Thursday and from 10 am until 8 pm Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays. Offerings include hot and cold
Food as well as other sundry items. A boat launch can be found on the Northwestern bank of the lake next to NorthWest Boat Rentals. Here visitors can rent rowboats (with or without a motor), kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and stand up paddle boards by the hour. Personal boats can be used in this lake as well, although there is a horsepower limitation on the lake. This park encompasses 1,200 acres, including its 78 acre lake. There are a number of hiking and biking trails as well as cabins and other campground options for those interested. Although the park is open every day of the year from dawn till dusk, certain amenities must be reserved in advance (such as pavilions for parties). The park office should be contacted in such instances.

This is a great state park. The changing rooms and bathrooms are pretty new and modern. The beach is well kept and the slope into the water is very gentle. There is a nice playground there for kids up to 10. There is a big field where you can play games. There is also a lot of beach equipment that can be rented very reasonably. The food is reasonably priced and a decent selection. This really is a great place to spend an afternoon.
Michael Balogh
My wife and I have visited many of PA's State Parks and Keystone is no exception. The park boasts a beautiful lake, surrounded by a boat launch, swimming beach, picnic groves and a very nice campground. Only electric motors or paddle power are allowed on the lake. Swimming and fishing are done in season. Biking, hiking and bird watching are all great activities while you're there. Not too far away from the city, but away from the hustle and bustle. It's a great place to visit any time of year. Highly Recommended! 🎣🏕️🏊🚣🚴
Ben Lunshof (Oswego25)

Lauren Snyder
Very nice park. This was my first visit. We took our maiden voyage in our new fishing boat. Definitely plan to visit again!
Nick Waggamon
Camped here for a night while passing through. Great campground, really peaceful and quiet. Bathrooms were really clean and nice. We stayed on a week night during the summer and park was not too crowded. Many of the campsites have pretty intense tree cover which is great for shade but couldn't get much signal for starlink.
H Blick
Watch your food!! Racoons stole a whole bag of chips from picnic table & ate a whole box of dog treats accidentally left out on front porch of cabin!! Very brazen, ...& pretty big!!
Kelli Grill
Best state park I’ve visited for camping. The lakeside site was perfection.
bobbi weaver

Shelley Smith
My favorite place! Lots of Eagle and Osprey Action! All kinds of birds and wildlife. The campground is spectacular! Great little lake to kayak! AMAZING TRAILS!
Gabrielle Marsden
Kayaking is nice here. It’s a low key family sort of place. Easy to cover the whole lake and if you come with folks without a boat then they can rent.
Adrien K
Great family park. Camping, canoe rental, picnic areas, and some great fishing spots. We spend a good bit of the summer hanging out here.
Tammy LaCross
What a beautiful location. We stayed in Cabin 3 in Lakeside. So clean! Tucked back in the trees, we had full shade all weekend so while it was 90 degrees during the day, a couple oscillating fans made the cabin nice and cool at night. The beach was clean and the rangers were very friendly. We will return.
Kramer
Nice clean park with clean restrooms and showers. Only bad part was I didn't bring my kayak haha! Will definitely visit Keystone State Park again soon. Thank you.
Tarun Gupta
Just an hour's drive from Pittsburgh. A great place to see the fall colors. Quiet, clean and beautiful.
Denise Johnson
The beach at Keystone Park is very clean! Restrooms as well were clean. We spent 6 hours floating in the lake and putting our feet in the sand. What a perfect summer day! 🌞 …

James
Great park. A ton of picnic tables all around. Fishing and swimming also a playground
Peg P
First time I have her went swimming there and I was pleasantly surprised. Although the water is brown there was nothing disgusting squishing between my toes 👏 the bathrooms were clean and from what I am told they were remodeled. I also tried the soft serve ice cream which to me was more like custard and was delicious ❤️ …
Craig Henry
Great place for fun with the family or just exploring. Well maintained restroom and changing facilities. They have a nice playground near the beach as well.
Sandee Knight
The family cabins are beautiful and clean. They’re nicely tucked in the wooded area with great walking trails.
Jasmine
Very beautiful park! Great wide open space, breath taking views, there is a little beach area where you can sit and watch kayakers passing by. Loads of great spots for fishing and awesome walking trails. Haven't had the chance to check out the cabins as it's closed till next summer so will definetly come back and make use of it. Great for kids as loads of playing space. Must visit park!
Lee Kirkey
The playground is a big hit with my 2 1/2 year old grandson.I haven't been to the swimming area. Plenty of picnic tables around both sides of the lake. Plenty of shaded areas. I didn't see any garbage lying around.
Shaney Brown
Beautiful park with nice walking path around lake. Access to swimming, fishing, boat rental, and campground. Also being dog friendly is a plus.
Sai
Very vibrant place, lots of activities to do. Kayaking, hiking, fishing. There is lot of lawn area to rest front of the beach.
Icecream is awesome in the concession area.
Kristine Kennedy
Pretty lake, clean bathrooms, a bit muddy tent site. Glad we stayed in the pet friendly area, looked like there is a permanent mobile home park in the adjoining section.
Rebecca Ruggear
Great little beach area with sand and grass. Several kayak/boat launching spots and it's a nice calm ride. It's also really nice to just float around on the lake. There's a sectioned off swimming area and kayak rentals as well. There's also a trail right across from one of the parking lots with beautiful scenery! I've been and will continue coming back to Keystone!
Barry Van Gemert
Come over once a week or so to walk our dogs. We have an EV and can plug in during the walk. A really nice perk for us environmentally conscious folks.
Amy Kelly
Beautiful park, great camping, and swimming! The concession stand at the beach was nice too, I really enjoyed the funnel cake fries.
Claire
Easy to get to, clearly marked with plenty of parking. Well maintained beach, park, and bathroom/shower facilities. Food vendor was decent with nice staff.
Md Saiful Islam
This is a nice park, especially for kids. There is a beach open for swimming. The restroom near the beach is very well equipped. You can change clothes, take showers, and also buy yourself some fries, coke or ice cream!
The state park has multiple campgrounds, my experience at the lakeside campground was awesome. Again, the campground restroom is well maintained, has showers and running water.
The beach is a good place for fishing or kayaking. They also have a boat rental shop where you can also find live baits. Highly recommend this place!
John Sarver
My favorite summer drive-to spot. Gorgeous lake, huge beach area, cheap boat rentals, fishing areas. This is a must visit spot if you have kids!

Lobe coming here, the trails are perfect to walk and offers a good range in variety. The Rangers are always nice, and its almost always quiet. Its a nice place to camp too!
Taco Moo
This was an amazing trip for the price, I never expected the cabins to be as nice as they were for the price I paid! I wish it wouldn't of rained the first day so I could have explored more!
Jason Weckerly
Nice small lake, nice camp sites. Great hosts and rangers. Good family place.
louis mcdavitt
Open. Friendly. Nature. Beautiful cabins, large lake for fishing. The kayakand canoo rentals are fin too. They supply a bag for your phone in case you lose it on the water... it floats!
Larry Fallon
Very open. Great trails and a wonderful beach area. I'll return many more times in every season of the year.
Holly Lynn
Very uncrowded. Picnic tables. Clean bathrooms. Family environment.
Robert DuBois
I went around the lake in a rental kayak on Memorial Day, which took about an hour in ideal 75-degree weather, stopping in a few coves and saying hello to other boaters. Two-Dam Kayaks charged $14 - a bargain - for a great way to spend a nice day.
Charlene Tingler
Smaller beaches but nice atmosphere. Plenty of picnic tables and benches. Family fun.
Bryan D
Campsites are small and crammed close together, but it's nice to be within walking distance of the lake even from the hill side campground
Susan Campano-Readel
Our cabin is so cute. And CLEAN! We are really enjoying ourselves 🙂 Today we're fishing 🎣 …
Tam Craven
Peaceful relaxing great time. The yurt was awesome. It was our first experience staying in one. I definitely recommend trying it out.
Russ Fry
Enjoy camping here. Be aware of the lots that don't have electricity. We thought ours did (so did the people next to us), but it didn't. Modern Tent Lot only means hot showers..
Amber B
Beautiful park great for the entire family 🏞️ …
El E
Within 5 minutes...literally..of parking beside the lake I saw 2 great blue herons, an osprey, and a bald eagle. The eagle was fishing...it was amazing to watch! I was parked near the causeway. You can sit right there and see the magnificent waterfowl!
Laura
We love camping here! I just wish they would do some small upgrades in the bathroom on the camping side of the lake, like replace the toilet seats.
russell samuelson
Very nice "modern cabin"
Clean/warm/cozy
Matt Baer
I've been going to Keystone since I was young. It's always great to get out and about for a nice walk, fishing or camping. However, the trails, picnic tables, etc need some serious work. The cabins and camping spots are not in great shape anymore, either. Recently we went for a walk with our three young children, on a Saturday a little before noon, and not a single restroom was available!! How the heck does that make any sense? We had to put pine branches around my little girl so no one could see her. That's just unacceptable to me. I get we went off-peak, but no restrooms? I love getting out to there, but I won't be going back with the kids for a while, that's for sure.
John Calhoun
Beautiful place! Very clean! Had a great time!!
Amy Steele
Great place to camp, walk, picinc, boat and fish. Morning, mid day or evening.
susan heckert
We had a fantastic time. Our 2nd visit, cabins are roomy, clean and restful. Lots of hiking trails, kayaking and fishing.
Katherine Brewer
Nice state park, we visited later in the season and staffing was a little sparse with not the best signing of where to go to check in. Nice secluded sites with good facilities. Nice trails through the woods despite wet weather. Dog friendly in hillside campground.
Denise Fowkes
Stayed in one of their yurts! These have electric, heat, a full kitchen, beds (bring your own linens), table and chairs! Love Keystone park!
Donna Walko
Just love the peacefulness. Always clean. We love fishing there.
Regina Haggerty
Took family vacation, we loved it. There was so much to explore and do. We will return.
GRAMMIE DEBI
I love driving through, even in the winter months. I saw people ice fishing and skating on the ice. Several walked the road and paths with their dogs. My Grandson and I just drove through taking in as much as we could before the cold winter rain started.
Kendyl Dillon
Great place to take your kids.. Nice place to have party's... My daughter Americus Reveal party at Keystone state park.. And 4th July picnic..
Erin Walker
Great place to take the kids swimming and fishing for free. Beautiful scenery and great picnic areas! They also have affordable camping sites, including camp huts and cabins if you don't want/have a tent or camper!
Melanie Sue
I really enjoyed my time there. Remind me of of place back home I went to all the time with my family.
Mags
Gorgeous spot for camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and nature photography.
Eugene Williams
This is a beautiful, serene and very clean park
The fishing is okay
We caught small bass, small perch and of course bluegill
But people around us seemed to be doing better on that day
I would recommend this park to anyone doing a family outing or who just want to relax and fish
There's also boat and kayaks available
Neo S
Peace and quiet during closed season. Nice place for a walk and enjoy nature and the foliage in the fall.
Jan Marnell
Great walk around the lake. Beautiful day.
Brian
Beautiful beach and family oriented. No dogs allowed on the beach but we took our dog off the path to do some water retrieving.
Wade Criswell
Nice clean park! Food stand for when you get the munchies! Lots of parking and Plenty of room for kids to play and adults to relax!
Betty White
This is à great place to walk. Also great kayaking with convenient boat ramp.
Lesley Boatright
Beautiful little gem of a state park close to home. We rented 2 kayaks and leisurely cruised the lake from one end to the other. The rental company employees were polite and helpful. As we passed the swimming area, we could see that it was hopping in the 90-degree heat. There were kayakers, canoes, and some fishing boats on the lake, as well as stand-up paddle boarders. We stopped at one point to use the restroom. It was spacious and clean. We will definitely go back again this summer.
Sahri Ali
Love coming here with family and friends every summer! Kids love playing in the sand and water along with the small playground with swings and slide.
Dilcia Tejada
Easy acces for wheelchair, bathrooms everywhere, really nice walking trai, clean, just perfectl
Heather Rae
One of my favorite local parks to visit !!!!
Michael Bauman
They have farmers market every Sunday during the summer where you can find more than just plants and veggies. It's more like a make it, bake it, and grow it. It is nice.
Lindsay Mattock
Great walking trail around the lake and hiking trails through the woods.
HITMAN BOOTER
All kinds of fish an the people are surprisingly very kind. You can eat any fish from there an they are clean fresh water fish with no taste at all to the bass perch trout bluegill an crappie. Amazing
Karon Jenkins (RMC Shellback)
As usual, the location and situation are exceptional. This place is my go-to for that reason.

Very clean and quiet. The camping area is small. It makes it nice because even when it's full, it's not overcrowded.
Chasya Cowen
I love this place! We come here all the time in the summer. Sometimes it's really busy. We came recently when it happened to be gorgeous out and the bathrooms on the beach were closed which was disappointing, but it's always a great time there.
Chad Garripoli
Nice and peaceful not crowded at all great for a family reunion
Dan “Zunkman” Zunko
Keystone Park has been kept up fairly well. They have a nice concession stand. The water is, believe it or not, brown but clean. I know that doesn't really make sense, but it's just the water from a creek, so it's not spotless, but it's also not polluted. You can also walk the entire way around the lake. It's about 2 miles.
Donna “Heinzie” Hein
My grandsons love this place. They love hiking here and of course the lake, playing in the sand. The 8yo loves to swim in the lake. But the day we were there water waaaaay too cold for swimming!!
It's clean well kept and a really nice place to spend a day!! At some point we want to rent a cabin for a week. And really enjoy the park.
(Grandkids love the snack bar. The 5yo says; best hot dogs ever!!!)
Naveen Dutta
It’s fun place to enjoy summer. Good State park. There is a lake where you can have fun with family.
Jennifer Smith
It's close by,nice semi big beach, plenty of room to swim, parks right next door with grills...most important it's free!!!! You can enjoy a fun day in the sun, cool off in water, throw ball with ur kids,go next door n grill out ur dinner n ur not breaking th3 bank
Nick Szirmae
Nice people. Clean lake. Good time
Ak
Great family place to take ur kids to enjoy the sun, water and as well a Lil park too...
The Bachs
Very peaceful and the trails are great for hiking and biking.
Sharon Gilmore
Nice park. Easy parking. Great place to kayak.
Wil Stephens-Spann
It was packed on Memorial Day, and it still was a great experience. ..I encountered a lot of friendly folk! !! The park ranger was very respectful and helpful. ..
Frank Stephens
Today's adventure was going here for a hike. The trail completely encircles the lake and it takes about 8k steps to go all the way. It's perfect for a day trip and the leaves in the fall are stunning. There is plenty of parking and lots of picknic tables all the way around. You will definitely need to take a bottle of water and a camera on your walk around. Have a great time!
lindsey Y
Nice beach and swimming area. Plenty of tables, and small playground. Sign said no dogs, but saw some around.
Everlasting Moments
Great time with the family. Very beautiful and so much fun to go swimming!
Courtney Poelcher
Definitely a nice state park to go. People are friendly, the up keep is clean. Really nice day trip or a weekend camping trip.
Robert Gardner
I called to get a lake side cottage. The lady on the phone listed all the amenities such as a microwave, fridge, and stove. She stated we are in a private section. So we ended up booking another cottage for my mother N law. Upon arrival we immediately found out everything the lady on the phone was wrong. We packed for 4 nights with perishables and a lot went to waist. No fridge, microwave, nor stove. Luckily I brought stuff to cook on the fire pit. There is a community trail right behind the cottages. No privacy what so ever. Locals come down and fish right in front of your cabin. Yes right in front of your cabin. People use the road where the 3 cottages are as part as the community trail as well. The 2nd night there was a massive nasty family night. I honestly thought someone was going to get shot. I mean kids crying people screaming, things banging. Ranger came by but no one was sent home. Although the next 2 nights they were quiet. Another thing is that there isn’t any wood to collect so don’t bring a ax, hatchet, or anything. You will drop about $150 on wood easy for a couple nights. Overall the place is really clean and very well taken care of. We did meet some awesome campers. Overall if you like to be on top of each other while camping this place is for you. If you like to have campsites far apart, able to collect wood, no community walk trail right behind your cabin, people fishing right in front of your cabin, this place isn’t for you
Frankie Serenko
The place has that 1970's camp vibe, but with modern creature comforts and clean restrooms. It has nicely spaced stone and wood pavilions which have power, fridges and a nice kitchen. Plenty of parking for RV's and campers or you can rent yerts and cabins of you don't want to pitch a tent. The water area allows for swimming at the beach front which has concessions. You will also find a boat launch area for small boats and I am told the fishing is great. Lastly it has a small wooden amphitheater and a historic museum. I would recommend this campsite for good family atmosphere alone.
Kelsey Harrington
Awesome place, they've got a bathroom, nice park with a separate play place for smaller kids. I locked my child in my car on accident and we called the park rangers. They arrived within minutes and got the car unlocked for me. The water in the lake is also very clear and across the bridge theres a small fishing area. Despite a couple hiccups the park was amazing and I had a great time
Michelle Brown
We had a great time! It was our first time and we enjoyed it
Jill Pennington
Beautiful place & a great place to go kayaking.
David Parker
Nice park, all around. Modest-sized lake, full compliment of children's playground equipment, beach area, some walking trails, fishing fairly good. One downturn I'll mention is as follows: though I appreciate the year-round availability of the park itself, the regular restroom facilities being locked OBVIOUSLY MEANS THAT A FEW PORTA-JOHNS would be a NEEDFUL COURTESY.
Mitty Drew
A nice little getaway close to home!
Steph Raufer
We LOVE the lakeside campsites at Keystone. From my campchair next to the fire ring I can watch the sun rise and set over the lake. Plenty of privacy from neighboring sites, and room for kiddos to run and play.
Dawn Evans
I took my grandkids there this summer for an outing and it was our best day this summer.
Picnic tables are available but no grills. That was okay because we brought our own travel grill.
The kids loved playing in the sand and water, and when they were done there they have a really nice playground that they could play at.
They have a very nice bath house to get cleaned up in after your done with your day at the beach. Very, very nice facilities. We were very impressed. We will be back next year.
Beverly McDonald
We went to the farmers market. It is a wonderful place to have a market, but vendors said not enough people come to shop. Needs more advertising. Alot of variety of items. Vegetables, baked goods, home made items like unusual bird houses, wreaths, kitchen items, painting's etc
Becky Lauffer
Great place to go with your children or grandchildren there is a wonderful playground by the lake. It's also a perfect place for an impromptu picnic
Dempsey Dimedio
Relaxing, small but big enough to take a few mile walk or kayak across the lake
Bethany Zemaitis
Very nice beach area, swimming, kayaking even triathalon training going on. Clean bathrooms and nice concession area. pleasant surprise!
Jon A (Johnny Stud)
Nice camp grounds that accommodate anyone from a large camper to just a simple tent, separate grounds for dog loved. There are pavilions and handicap fishing areas along with a nice beach that has showers and a concession stand. I have been going here since I was a child, and I can share it with my children, a great place to spend a few nights or a day trip.
Tim Stimach
Kayak and boat rentals were inexpensive. No reservations accepted on busy weekends. Lake is a good size for fishing and small boats. Beach is decent though not terribly deep. Overall a good time for things to do outdoors
Narendra Sharma
Beautiful state park with lake and camp grounds.
In summer beach ⛱️🏖️ is open with lifeguards and place to shower.
My favorite activity is to take a stroll around the park. It is just 1/2 hr drive from turnpike Monroeville exit. …
Elizabeth Stercho
Had a nice walk around the lake. Only one section that is probably mosquito heaven in the summer! Lots of fishermen around the lake and has a campground, many on a hill with steps at the site. Has a swimming area and some concession stands, but they weren't open yet.
Harish Srinivasan
Great outdoor place to be.. and this provides one of the best natural swimming beaches around Pittsburgh.. a lovely place for family and kids.. not a long drive from Pittsburgh either. Did not camp here so won't be able to comment on it but the lake, beach and children place are all great...
Ed Movitch
WOW!!! A great place to picnic and swim. Ultra clean changing areas for entire family
Sheryl Peters
One of my kids favorite places. The Bathrooms/showers are clean. The concession stand is a bit overpriced but we always just pack a picnic lunch anyway. 100% would recommend
Jamie Dargusch
Beautiful park. Plenty of places to grab a picnic table. Lots of room for the kids to play and swim. We brought our own kayaks and dropped in right down the hill from our picnic tables. Perfect spot for family gatherings. Boat house with rentals, swim house with changing facilities and snack bar. Plenty of parking. Great memories waiting to be had!
Chris Beyer
A beautiful park! Lots of activities for everyone. We enjoyed the beach area today. The sand on the beach is soft. The swimming area is large and does not get very deep. I believe the deepest point is only 5 ft deep. The bathroom and changing area is really nice. There is snack shack where you can get food and ice cream.
Sebastian Govannucci
Looks like a decent place. Stopped by a few times but nothing was open, obviously cause its too cold out. But it was cool to see the lake frozen over. But i definitely plan on stopping back here to check it out in warmer weather. Can't wait to see it after they open the beach in the spring also. So as of now guess I'll recommend this place but if that suggestion changes I'll edit my review this spring or summer.
P.T.L. Pennsylvania Trout Limited
Great place to fish and kayak. They also have beach for swimming!
Taira Tripoli
The beach area was so beautiful and its an awesome place for the whole family to have fun and enjoy!!
Jamie Pastuch
I’ve been coming to this park for about 10 years and have never had a bad memory. The play ground is clean and up to date. There’s swimming in the summer with a great cafe with food, drinks and ice cream. For Easter there’s a huge egg hunt. During the fall it’s a gorgeous area for walks.
JJ'sgameing 10
Love this place❤ there is a beach area, playground, swim area, picnic areas , public restrooms and showers available. Can also rent for free with I.d. games for your picnic. Not cost to swim! Clear nice evening's they show a movie on big screen after everyone is out of the lake. There is a snack bar also. There are also cabins that can be rented along with kayaking. Lots of fishing spots 🐟 also handicapped accessible ❤
Mark Dominelli
Love to walk my dogs here. Beautiful scenery as you walk around the lake
Jennifer Ryan Fitzpatrick
This is our favorite local beach. It’s much cleaner than Raccoon and bigger than Moraine.
Josh Bartolovich
I really enjoyed my time at this place. There are a lot of healthy fish that are breeding as you can see catfish babies, trout, carp and bluegill. The only thing that I did not like was how poorly the restrooms together. I hope others enjoy Keystone as we did tonight.
Gerry Mc
Nice campground around a lake. Book campsite online
Thomas Whitehaus
Well maintained park with a lot of things to do. I was here to walk around the lake and they had a smooth gravel path that wrapped the lake, about 2.5 miles. A very easy and scenic path. They also have hiking paths and the lower end of the lake and swamp area. Paths are well marked and cleared and can get rather muddy at spots.
Thomas Krahling
I had never been to keystone State Park before. I organized the campsite online. The campsite description said that it was shaded.there was absolutely no shade at that campsite until at least 5 in the afternoon. The campsite was number 13 in lakeside. I guess I should have known number 13 would be unlucky. I had originally arranged to stay 3 nights.and there was no way I could stay in that campsite for three nights I left after the first night. The park was very nice actually.the lake is beautiful and there are many trails and places to bike. the park should be more honest about the descriptions of their campsites. I am 66 years old and there is no way that I can sit in the hot sun all day long until 5 in the afternoon.
Theodore DeNardo
I had a wonderful time camping with my family here this past weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we could even get our kayak registration there in person. (Who knew you needed one of those?)
Brenda Henry
It was great!! Peaceful and quiet setting, easy access for fishing and swimming!! The cabins are just great!!
Lisa Reese
Beautiful private campsites. Very nice camp hosts that were helpful in sharing area attractions as well as amenities such as where to get firewood. We will make this our annual trip.
Robert Kerr
Park is well kept. Easy to find trash cans. Less seaweed than Twin-Lakes and Mammoth makes for more enjoyable fishing. Saw a wider variety of wildlife last few times I've been there compared to other nearby parks.
Jerry Wisneski
Great nature walk. We’ve seen all kinds of animals including deer and heron
Enzo Sica
Got a kayak from Two Dams. Very friendly service. Toodled around for an hour on the water, sitting in shade, seeing the dam, cruising past beachgoers. Super peaceful lake, lots of fishers.
Mildred Brinker
We had a baptism party with family and friends and great food had a great day .not to hot at all walked around watch grand son swim along with others swimming water is cold there....we had a great time with everyone who came to celebrate his life into christ .........way to go Tyler........
Congrats on your new life
Donna heintz
Very relaxing, very clean, very nice FAMILY place. With a nice snack bar and very reasonable rental prices for beach umbrellas and games. The occasional smart brat with mom NOT paying any attention to kid (s) . For the most part a great place for family.
Brian Shirk
What a gem! Come swim in the lake. Build sand castles on the groomed beach. Enjoy soft serve at the concession stand. Change your clothes in clean, well equipped changing rooms. Walk the trails and let the kids enjoy the wide open spaces. Take in a Saturday evening family-friendly movie.
Gen 1: Nine
Lovely park. Excellent day trip location, great facilities, a tranquil linear lake, perfect for children learning how to kayak or SUP (stand up paddle board). You can do all they offer in a day, but that really is not a bad thing. The park is easy to access, and is a treasure for the area. Fishing, swimming, hiking, picnicking, dog walking, picture taking, camping, and more.
Susan Doerschner
This is the first time we used a handicap accessible cabin, had everything my husband needed. But outdated needs more room in the bedroom to get around with the wheelchair. The stove top knob markings were faded and I burned alot of food due to this. Available was a shower chair and a bedside commode that fit over the toilet, this was a plus.
Elizabeth Greene
Wonderful cabin and relaxing week. A Good getaway!
Katie Kay
This place has everything, a place to walk the dog, take the kids swimming, and fish. You're tired of being inside because of a pandemic? I saw someone doing their thing at a picnic bench, listening to music with the car door open, far enough that it wouldn't bother anyone. So it's good for that too. There's an RV and tent area, small but spaced out far enough that you aren't on top of each other. Would recommend
Sepehr Roshandel (Sep)
Great place for taking long walks, hiking or even have a fun weekend picnic.
Outdoor play ground for young kids available throughout the park.
Great places for kayaking and fishing as well as other outdoor activities.
During summer it can be humid and full of bugs so have bug spray and a lot of water!
Blaze Mendicino
Map, trails, camp firers, cabins, tent, fishing, beach, handicaps sites, and a lot more
Rachel Chisholm
Been coming here for family reunions for over 45 years. Still my favorite state park on west side of Pennsylvania
Robert Kasinec
It use to be a great place for the first day of trout but because they allow fishing in the lake prior to the first day of trout, fishing is no longer good there, the local people fish it out even though they are not allowed to keep the fish i have seen people leave with stringers full of trout. We at one time would rent two cabins with a lot of people over to fish first day but because the fishing is so bad, people stop coming up and have gone to other places to fish we still come up for our grandchildren, they should just drain the lake and make it a playground because fishing is horrible.
Nick Palmer
I loved this place! Pittsburgh was so hot the week i was there and i literally wanted to stay in that water til it was time to go to the airport. The water was nice. Not to cold. The conversation stand seemed to be priced appropriately and the burgers were pretty decent for a snack stand
Mike Funt
Very nice smaller state park. The facilities are well maintained and the lake provides decent fishing. A good escape from the city in under an hours drive. Can get decently crowded.
We spent the weekend camping and fishing here recently and overall enjoyed the camping experience. As with most state parks the sites are right on top of each other, however most campers respect quiet hours and keep noise to a minimum. We are used to camping in very remote locations and did not have any issues with noise or neighbors so that must say something! Park rangers are present seemingly at all times ensuring the safety of all patrons.
We did not have any issues with the "loud" race track whatsoever.
Would certainly recommend to families.
Marten Coulter
Great staff. Came in late and was able to book a stay in one of the cabins. Was in late September and the trees and lake were beautiful. Took a drive by the modern cabins and even though they are a bit far away from the lake and other attractions they looked really nice. Definitely going back.
Jason S
Great park with camping and fishing available. Hillside campground bathroom only has two shower stalls so it can get congested at peak times. Also, for people with children might want to know there is no playground in the campground. There is one over at the beach, but it's a mile+ walk.
Wendy kerley
We enjoyed camping very much. A bit muddy at our lot but the other lots were very nice. They only have room for 1 car and visitors have to park a good distance away. But you couldn't ask for a more beautiful park. Restrooms and showers were clean. Park is kept clean. Very enjoyable and relaxing
Mike Bauman
Nicely maintained grounds and facilities. Campsites cater more to RV's and campers then to tenting, as many of the sites are sloped and offer little flat space for larger tents. Most sites are open, taking away from the true camping atmosphere of semi-seclusion. We were there on a Thursday night and the noise from the drag racing until midnight was relatively loud, again, taking away from a true camping experience. The staff and hosts were friendly and the kids enjoyed swimming.
Jessica Szekely
Free Swimming all summer. Family friendly. Clean. Good place to go fishing or camp. Offers a concession stand with Great ice cream. Nice playground. Movies in the park. One of my favorite local summer places.
Jeff Kula
Always a great time. Leisure kayaking and fishing at its best.
Jeff Newport
This place is great if you want peace and quiet. The family cabins have water and electric but no wifi or TV. It's great.
Margaret Ghiardi
The park is a beautiful way to spend the day! Two Dam kyak rental at the park is a great way to spend the day plenty of kayaks to rent and a new feature hydro bikes are great fun!!
Brian Harris
Great beach. Friendly staff. Good location. Fair price. Two disclaimers: First, the tent sites are pretty sub-standard. Don't expect flat. Or seclusion. Second, the firewood avail. at the bait store was so wet/poor that everyone was struggling. But seasoned wood elsewhere. But that's nit-picky because overall the important stuff - bathrooms, facilities, and amenities are very good.
Steven Kail
Beautiful trails, swimming areas, perfect for camping!! Definitely will be back again!
Alexander Suwolitch
Great places to take the kids. Fishing. Play grounds and camping.
Tiffany Kowalecki
A very clean family place for camp or day trips.
Arsalan Siddiqui
Free entry. A great lake beach, pretty safe for kids as it seem to be artificially levelled. I also love doing kayaking there. Boat rentals seems reasonable ($18/hr for a 2 person tendem) and a pretty good service
Naomi Grodsky
It is gorgeous there. This time we came with extra costs and hats and enjoyed it that much more than last year. We didn't know that it is good 10 degrees colder there. (I wouldn't say it is windy there, but it feels much colder)
Shane Brunson
Nice lake and park to walk with a smoking area.
Cassie Hoffman
Keystone is a lot of fun! It offers free swimming in the hot summer, a nice bath house complete with showers, and my kids love the new playground. They manage the facilities very well; the grass is always trimmed and the sand is always raked, and they even have an affordable snack bar. It is a great place to pack a lunch, or dinner, or both and plan to spend the day!
Elizabeth S
Closest lake swim to Pittsburgh city dwellers, the bathing facilities are always clean and it's never been overly crowded when I've gone. Love it here.
Stacey Akines
Perfect for a family weekend get away.
Amanda Kirchgessner
We rented an RV campsite and loved it. Large public beach on a small lake was a fair distance from our site. Crowded in the heat of the summer. I got the impression it was free to day visitors for the size of the crowd. I'm glad the Pennsylvania tax payers get some perks from their state parks. In New York, they love to charge you at the gate.
windy stringer
Nice park puts me more in mind of canoe creek state park. We took the hike around the lake the campgrounds for tents seem better and flatter than some of the state parks we've been to . Grass instead of gravel to set your tent up will have to climb steps for the tent sites . There is a beach area and a gift shop open memorial through labor day .No stamps outside for books here but we did mention about doing it.
Kevin Messner
The lake & beach area is perfect but we weren't thrilled with the "Tent" camp sites. Most of them are on hilly terrain so its almost impossible to find a flat spot for a tent. Lots of traffic noise still heard at night but not to horrible.
Laura Barnes
Great place to camp! The sites are not cramped as in some campgrounds, and almost all are separated by some type of tree line or shrubbery so you have the privacy you would like. The shower houses are clean, as are the sites.
It was also family friendly, with options on the lake to picnic, relax, or go fishing. You can even rent kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddleboards.
There are options for tent as well as camper/rv camping. Electric and water hookups also available. Very reasonably priced, great views, highly recommend!
Gabriella Kaecher
First time there. Was very nice. Not over crowded. Most people social distancing, except at playground. They had signs posted about every 3 ft surrounding the playground saying it was closed yet there were still many parents allowing their children to play on it.
Susan Moore
Nice beach.but no life guards. Grass is a plus. Descent concession. Free admission
.
Doreen Luff
Great beach! Can't wait to go back!
Beth Toennies
Very pretty park. We stayed here while visiting family in New Alexandria and it was perfect! We rented a cabin, I believe it was #6 or 8. Loved the cabin. We walked trails, played at the playground and would have went swimming but the temperature never really got warm enough. There was a little shop on the property for necessities if needed. We will definitely stay here on our nectar visit!
Christina Blough
Such a beautiful location, and an additional beach area for that fun in the sand style get together. Many picnic tables and paths to explore. Beautiful scenery. Definitely worth a trip!
Steve Prosdocimo
Not too many places in this world have things that are "free", but swimming here IS one of those things! Big sandy beach (and the sand bottom continues all the way in the water where you swim) and an even bigger lawn to lay your towels and stuff down to "set up camp". Has a Concession stand, nice bathrooms and showers. Kids love it. Just a tip, bring something for shade (pop up pavilion, umbrella, etc....)
Irena Savchenko
Amazing place to reconnect with the nature. We spent a week here staying at the yurt. Very impressed with the facilities and how well this park was looked after. I really enjoyed our long walks around the lakes and listening to all the sounds of the night wildlife. Would love to come back again soon!
nestor aveni
The visit to the Keystone was fantastic...great...awsome..Any time that you get in contact with nature..your spirit and mood is lifted to the highest possible level!!!
Amy White
Campground- easy to find, clearly marked, clean bathhouses, paved/gravel parking spaces for each site, sites are shaded which is nice in the sun but if it's been raining they stay damp, also the sites are all sloped. Trails- clearly marked and well maintained. Park- beautiful! Bathrooms- I trekked through the entire park and found each bathroom to be amazingly clean
Debbie Leon-Reeves
Beautiful lake but usually quite busy with active kayakers and boaters which makes fishing very bad. Ladt two times I encountered snakes in the water so no more swimming for me.
Lisa Vandervort
Great place to swim with the family and take your own food and drinks. no alcohol allowed there.they have camping here but I think you have a spot all summer. I'm not sure how it works. Not over night camping here. There is a campground in New Stanton I believe for one night stay I think. you would have to check on it.
Rasheena Spiaggi
Very clean bathroom. Lots of customers. Friendly people.
Teddy Kane
The tent campsites I was shown were flat, secluded and NOT SWAMPY! My site was on a hill that had so much mud, you could have done some mud bogging there! The only thing I liked about the place was the fishing. But they do have showering facilities. To rent a canoe, kayak etc, it cost alot for one half hour. But I loved the people, (other campers) there and they made it more enjoyable. My biggest issue was that you cannot have alcoholic beverages there!
Abbey Road
I can't say enough good things about Keystone. Something for everyone, beautiful lake, nice campground.
Bobby Corwen
Great place to be. I often walk my dog here. The staff here are very friendly and easy to talk to. This park seems to be held to a high standard.
Donald K. Stoves
Was a little crowded, but a beautiful day, it was expected. Had a wonderful time with my Wife, Niece Bianca and Nephew Liam! Picnicking, swimming, and just plain goofing around with the kids! Great time! Great park!
Birch Nugget
Clean. The concession stand had reasonable pricrs and ice cream on a hot day is a yummy treat. Lots of walking areas. Bathrooms were phenomenal! Definitely take a day with your family and relax here.
Karrieann McMeans
Beautiful this time of year! Always a good time!
America Cruz
The lake is a lot of fun and the water isn’t deep. The sunbathing area is very clean. The showers and bathrooms are also very clean.
CS Fisher
Beautiful and Relaxing site. Our goal is to fish , last night I caught 2 small hybrid sunfish and buddy caught a yellow catfish.
Are campsites, a beach, and a Boat Launch .
sergio robledo
Great place to camp fish walk and sit by the fire!
steve simon
Great fishing, long shore line to choose from. Many picnic tables with camping areas on it's own side of lake. Large protected swimming area with lifeguards. Concession area with real bathrooms and changing rooms. Boat rental as well as launching ramp and bait shop.
Brenda Pettit
I grew up coming to this park and lake. Great for fishing and camping and hiking. You WILL experience the wildlife because they will come out if the woods. The lake can be reflective and the water is clear. Swimming is great. Love it here.
Jason D
Nice place. I've been coming to this Lake since I was a kid and now I bring my kids there. Today was a different story. Out of all my years going there today was not good. A little boy was pulled from the lake and almost drowned. Thank God somebody was doing CPR and brought him back. They life-flighted him away. He is definitely in our thoughts and prayers!
Shelly Buckles
Well maintained and beautiful views. The main hiking trail can be taken around the lake or you can hike many side trails. There are plenty of summertime offerings at the beach and campground.
susan snow
It's a very small lake but they do have a decent swimming area for the kids. The campsites are okay, most are in a decently wooded area but not quite perfect for tent camping. They do allow dogs, which is a must for us.
Mark Yeomans
Nice well equipped ketchen and clean restrooms. Large pavilion with ball field close by.Shame the weather was rainy. Good time anyway.
Joseph Garrett
This was an OK CG but a bit pricey for the stay. There was no host on duty and the instructions for the drop box were a bit confusing. Took three trip from the entrance station to the camp site to understand it, get the right site, and then pay for it. The bathrooms were very clean.
Dan Hall
Great park with lots to do for everyone. You can hang out on the beach by the lake and tan or take a dip. The beach has a nice changing facility and a snack bar with pizza ,burgers, fries, and the like at reasonable prices. There are good fishing and camping spots available and plenty of trails for hiking.
HaLeigh Taylor
We camped in tents at Keystone this past weekend and had a great experience. The campground was well maintained and the rangers were friendly. Things that made this a five star StatePark include a service that delivered ice and firewood to your site and an amazing lakefront area. There was a huge, clean swimming area, multiple launches for small watercraft, a playground, toy shack with toys to share, paved walking trails, and plenty of shade trees over picnic tables. We wil definitely be going back again.
Fairest Reviewer Of Them All
Keystone beach is a nice place to relax. Plenty of room on the beach, nice concession stand offerings, and beautiful scenery around you. You can bring your own food also, and even a smal grill if you want to cook out instead. Also very clean beach and bath/changing rooms. And, it's free to go there!
Lizzie Beam
The camp sites were clean, and well-sized. The kayaking and trails were fun! If we'd been there longer we could have explored further, but it made a great short weekend stay.
Matthew Searfass
Nice cabins
Kelly Frank (KellyJeanLuna84)
So beautiful 💙 we went to set up for my sons birthday, needed no reservation and had a great day! The water was clean, there wasn't too many people, it's such a beautiful part of Pennsylvania too! I love keystone and am planning on going back to rent a cabin at some point! Their prices for everything are cheap and there are grocery stores not too far on the way from Pittsburgh to get what you need to cook out so it's also convenient! Leave this place alone forever please and let it stay natural!
Ann Kelly
My kids go here every summer. They can't wait till the warm weather rolls around and they start asking to go. As a child, I myself have a lot of fond memories of this place. Also, they have great hunting, camping and fishing.
Andrea
Great hiking trails and a beautiful lake. The beach area was closed due to COVID-19 but I appreciated the fact that the rangers were taking the safety of guests seriously by making sure the beach area was empty.
john nemes
WARNING ⚠️: raw sewage finding it's way into freshwater streams & lake. you have been warned use your own discretion! 💩💩💩💩 …
Christine
I really enjoyed the campground. There was plenty of room between the sites, a nice fire ring set up and being near the trees allowed for some much needed shade! I would definitely go back.
Christopher Field
My family (wife, two and a half yr old and a 9 month old) went up on Friday, July 5th- about as busy a night at a campground as you are gonna get. We swam in the lake, ate the concessions, and camped at the Hillside Campground.
Keystone is a hidden gem for those in the greater Pittsburgh area. A short drive from the city and you are in a tiny cluster of hills with most everything you need for a little R&R. Yes, there are bigger and better lakeside campgrounds. Yes, the water is brown. But... You are swimming in a lake, after all. Not a hotel pool.
The beach is rough grade sand, but combed and clean. The concessions had your basics; ice cream, hot dogs, cheese fries, and such. The showers were clean but the cheap nozzles made it difficult to get the sand off. The rest rooms were well laid out to handle a lot of people. There is a lot of direct sun so bring a beach tent or umbrella. There are trees planted along the parking lot to help keep vehicles cool.
Kids loved the swimming and playing on the jungle gym. I've enjoyed fishing along the shore in years past (and plan to do so in the future)
At night, we could definitely hear the motor raceway. It stopped at midnight. It was audible, no question, but just enough to drown out the crickets. No earplugs needed.
Very nice view of the stars after the lights went down.
Campsite had nice restrooms. Hillside Camp is more private than Lakeside Loop. But even many hillside camps are too exposed. Our site was private, but on a slope with tough access from the car.
Not the best layouts for tent camping, honestly. But, it serves for a quick getaway.
Keystone is tiny, and easy to criticize. But they do a lot with what they have. The people are always real nice and I always leave refreshed. What more could you want?
John Moore
Much improved since I was last here... 35 yrs ago! :-)
I did not stay in the campground for reasons listed below.... but we were right next door.
Very nice boat (electric/paddle only) launch, boat/kayak rental, beach area, camping areas, pavilions, and restrooms.
The visitor center seems abandonded.... we tried 4x over the week we were in the area and always closed.??
I do find it strange that they charge $37 per night for electric only camping and the sign says $11 ADDITIONAL to use the rv dump when within 1/4 mile you can get elect/water/sewer for $30 per night..... but I guess if you are willing to pay it and don't bother to check around... they'remore than happy to take your money! :-)
All in all a good place to camp!!
S K
Beautiful state park. Nice tent site. Clean camp bathroom/shower house. Wonderful trail around the lake.
Jesse Richman
Trail around lake was nice. Water isn't very clear, typical of a PA lake. Kids had fun playing in water and on beach.
Jessica Vicola
Keystone has definitely improved over the years, especially since I was a little girl. They do need to replace some of their picnic tables, but, for the most part it's clean, up-to-date, and they offer alot of activities for families and kids.
The Kasinec Family Kasinec
It is a really clean park and a great family camp site but i think two of the parks biggest downfalls is first, they designed the lake side camp sites to cater only to those who own expensive RVs, when my child was young she loved being in a tent near the lake, you can't do that now because there is no good place for a tent, the spots they have for tents have such a down hill slant or is so rocky it makes it uncomfortable and second the camp host they have i think are just for a free camp site, i was camped next to one in 7A and they were inly around at night and they were never out, three different people stopped at our site to get park information, the camp host was not there so we helped the campers, years ago the camp host would go around and talked to the campers to make sure their stay was enjoyable. I guess since they seem to cater to RV campers who stay inside in the AC watching TV until its ti.e to make a fire, why do you need a camp host?
Paul Volpe
I enjoy going to Keystone State Park, weather
It's for a walk or to go fishing, kayak and boat rentals are available There is also a
swimming area, restrooms and shower houses! Newer cabins are available to rent as well as camp site's! A few years ago improvements were made to the park. It really is a very nice state park!
Dana kirby
Love coming here. We try to get out here at least 4 to 5 times in the summer. We haven't attended the winter stuff but want to. Great place to swim and just have fun . Highly recommend it to anyone.
Keith Swanson
I fish there, and used to go there for the ice cream but they aren't open anymore .
Daniel. “Dan” Swartz.
I love the lake and i spend a lot of time fishing there. Trout season just opened and after 2 days of fiahing i still have not caught a trout. Hardly any bites at all. I hope things turn around.
David Troyer
A very pleasant state park for a picnic by the lake, a short scenic hike, or just relaxing. The camping, however, gets 3 stars. Tent sites in particular leave a lot to be desired. None of them are flat and all but one are very exposed and offer little privacy. There is also a drag strip nearby that runs until midnight and the noise is a nuisance. Otherwise, a pretty standard state park style camping experience.
Craig Corlis
The lakeside sites were pretty steeply slanted, we were rolling downhill in our tents, but it was a beautiful area and well cleaned. We would definitely come back.
Dan Paw
Fun time great park a lot for kids to do.
Trisha Zeigler
Nice trails around lake. Cabin was wonderful.
Andy Zero
Very nice place
Beautiful scenery
Will be back again
Duane Sipes
Beautiful park, well maintained. Very quiet during the week. Pleasant lake and trails.
Gene Burrell
Nice for fishing with family and grandkids. Really nice campground. Nice sandy beach for kids. Not bad for a PA State Park.
Stryk4ce
Nice lake
Karen Burgher
Clean quiet well maintained Family Campground
Walter Bazella
Our favorite local State Park. Much better if you can get a campsite by the lake. Good beach and beach house though you can't walk there from the campgrounds, unless you really like to walk.
Paul “PShif” Shifko
The lake is fairly big but is crowded. This lake is heavily pressured and difficult to fish from the shore.
The biggest issue is the kayak and canoe rentals. The problem is not with the concept, it's the actions of the renters. Both times I was there, I had by line and bobber ran over many times. There is a clear boat launch, yet people choose to come ashore right where people are fishing. Too many inconsiderate people go here.
A P
Nice place for a sunny or cloudy day in summer. There are some wooden benches all around the park for a small couple/family picnic. There are full service washrooms.
Plenty of trails around the park.
Tommie Stewart
Family friendly and fun there could be more grills for picnics.
Diana Williams
Grew up at this park and it has been 30plus years and i still go there with my family.and grandchildren. And swimming is nice as well
Derek Kuntz
Our campsite was a little rough it was very muddy and site didnt have very much of spot for our tent like it said but the rest of campground was very nice and clean would stay again just not in that campsite !
Daniel Snyder
Very relaxing stay in a modern cabin. Weekday stay was perfect.
Thara Murray
Went here last year an im goimg bCk next week
Judy Casella
Nice camp ground and lots of things to do. Clean bathrooms. Although a lot of noisy motor cycles at night around. And some of the tent sites are all hill. Overall, a good family place to visit.
Latisha “Mama” Igo
Fun lake! Great for a family day of swimming and a picnic. There's even a cute "borrow" stand of kids toys on certain days and a reasonably priced concession stand.
Thomas Williams

Robert Millhoff
Nice small park. Beautiful, well kept camp area. Look forward tutu going back. Really close to Pittsburgh too.
Dj Bonzz
A well managed State Park a great place to rent a canoe or kayak or bring your own to paddle around a nice quiet lake and enjoy the scenery. There's a beach for swimming with no boats allowed a short drive from Pittsburgh. A snac bar and clean bathrooms.
Rhodedogg Channel
This is a great place to take your family there is camping sites and you can rent cabins here not sure of the cost. There is a beach area for swimming and boats to rent again not sure of the cost of renting them.

One of our favorite places. Take all the grandchildren to the beach to swim and they like to fish there.
Zach Pepple
Great park, camped in the RV lot and sites were well maintained. Not easy to level the trailer but doable. Bathhouses are clean and up to date. Staff is friendly
Dylan s
Beautiful park with lots of great fishing spots in the shade. Also nice picnic areas in good condition to eat lunch at after a nice walk on one of their many trails.
Sarah Dunn
Great for a day outside! There's always bluegill to catch from the shore and a plethora else that's easier caught from a boat! Beautiful paths wrap around the lake and the 'beach' is always a happening place.
Cheryl Smith

Darlene Loftus
Keystone is a great park. You can kayak, fish, walk or ride bikes. It's a great place to take kids and explore nature.
Laurie Prunty
Nice but not enough parking close to the water except beach area, can't fish at the beach.
Pappys View
Nicest State Park close to Pittsburgh. About an hour drive east on Rt 22. Boating, fishing camping and a beach... Concession stand on site.... great day away.
Jordan Castellanos

Great place to get some sun and cool off in the lake. There is a snack bar to get some food to eat if you don't pack food from home. Good ice cream cones too.
Foodie with Love
I have been coming to this place for literally all of my life since I was a little kid so about 27 years now and I must say the great place to bring the family to have barbecues great place to do fishing I actually hold a record here when I was 13 for the second biggest carp ever caught out of that like at the time and the fishing is definitely really good really long Trails for walking many different activities to do it's definitely a nice place to be to get away for a day I highly recommend this place
Bernadette Glota
It was over 90 degrees for Alice Cooper concert, venue decreased water to 3.00 bottle due to heat, otherwise drinks are way overpriced as is their gift shop, 40.00 to 100.00 for a tee shirt, lots of bathroom stalls in 2 locations are fairly clean with water fountains.
Diana Moreo
We went to the part for the Summer Saturday Night outdoor movie.
We have a really nice time. Great movie and it is free for all. It is also wheel chair accesible. The weather was also perfect.
Dusty Marschik-Gauze
Even in winter it is still my favorite place

Heidi Jacobs
Great camp experience as always!
Dana Smith
So many fun activities for family and friends.
pert necheffp
Park is based around a lake so you're gonna find more activitys geared towards water. Not alot of trails. Fun place tho.
Jackie Lockhart
Calm little lake in the park with fishing and boating. There's no mooring available for people camping so be aware you'll be pulling out your boat every day.
riz kuhn
Always a nice place to go, people are friendly but camp sites are way too close together for as crowded as they get.
S_ilver r
It has it all. Concession stand (though it does have peanuts so my sister couldn't have anything). Grass. Sand. Water. The works. Was fun.
Maria Pompura
This is a beautiful park for walking, hiking, camping, picinics and fishing. Clean and quiet. Great place to hang out. Not a far drive from Pittsburgh.

Very nice park.. good fishing, although the kayakers and boaters can be a bit ignorant rowing into your lines..
Blake Apollo
Please add a new load of sand with LESS ROCKS! Area in front of sinks in bath house gets slippy! Please add curtains! When I was washing off the shower spayed all over my towel and bag that was hanging as far away as possible!!! Do make sure you rinse off though.. The water kind of smells like feet.. lol!
Butch Biker
The park is beautiful....nice camp sites but beware the nuts (Hickory I think fall from the trees in the fall the cracked our windshield in our new Van....Just be sure to cover your windshield with a blanket or two. The nuts in the hull are a little bigger than gulf balls about the same hardness and fall about 100 ft down so they are flying by the time they hit you or the gound. OUCH!!!
Alli

The hillside campsites offer good privacy between each site with plenty of shade. Bring ear plugs because it is near a racetrack and it gets LOUD at night.
Susan Johnston
Very nice campground. Kid friendly, pet friendly. Lots to do. Only thing that saddened me was no gift shop.
