Great park! Bonus the National Lincoln Boyhood park is just across the street.
Some fun trails to walk on, small lake big enough for kayaking, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our schedule.
We walked around the park and got about 5 miles and the last day we walked over to the National Park from our camp site and back it was 1 mile to the NP, another mile to do the 12 stone hike and then back to camp site for just over 3 miles. They have a great amphitheater so call and get the schedule of events last summer scheduled looked fantastic.

Nice clean cabins. Seem to have new very firm mattresses this year. We stay here about this time every year and this year seemed to be a lot more people visiting the park. Just a heads up. B if there is a concert at the ampatheatre you will hear the music from the family cabins. It is not bad but it is noticeable

We enjoyed our visit to Lincoln State Park. It's a beautiful park. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Aaron gave us several great recommendations of things to do. Michael gave us a great private tour of the Colonel Jones Home.
Andrew Osborne
A great park for the family. The camp ground looked very nice, although off-season. The beach seemed very large with a nice boardwalk down to the water for wheelchair access. The family had a great time hiking back to the fire tower and climbing to the top. The trail was very nice and easily navigable by my son with some physical disabilities. We will definitely be back!
Pauline Bockhold
The employee's were very friendly and helpful! The park and beach was very clean! There is very little cellphone service so that was great that the kids had to actually do something outdoors to entertain themselves! Loved it!

Went camping here and did a little bit of hiking. It's a nice scenic park with lots to do. I stayed at the non electric campground at # 205. The campsite is on the smaller side and it's really close to 203 and 201 which doesn't make for much privacy. I do feel that a lot of the campsites are too close together (you're on top of each other). There are few options though at the campground that would give you a little more privacy and space. There was a firepit with a grill and a picnic table to use. On the plus side you are very close to water which was helpful when it came to getting water and washing dishes. There is also a bathroom but its more like a port a potty with no sink. There is a better bathroom wt showers (showers have warm but not hot water) close by (2-3 min walk). It cost $20 for one night with good check in (2pm) and check out times (normally 2 but on Sundays, holidays it's 5). There is a train close by and I heard it several times during the night. Went on the trail that takes you to the fire tower and went to the top of the fire tower. It is a little scary going up and down the stairs but it feels fairly safe on the stairs and once you get to the top. The view is ok but not great with trees surrounding the tower.

Great park, well maintained. Lots of trails and picnic areas. Nice campground. In the summer, at the lake, one can take sun and sweem.
A great family-oriented state park.
Steve Ringer
Really nice dog-friendly park with a beautiful trail around the lake. The Fall Foliage in early November was fantastic. The staff at the Visitor's Center were great and even let us charge our electric car at the empty RV camp sites.
Ron Barnes
We decided to go on a road trip and stay the week at a campground and pick by random Lincoln State Park campground and we where suprisely please from entering into this area how polite the DNR officers at office entrance , from then we headed to the park campground to park the TT and notice the view from our trailer the scenic views around the trailer the campground host were polite and helpful to answer any questions. This area has a lot to offer in a weeks stay. There is a lake within walking distance from campground ( note ) electric trolling motor only. This area has a historic moment in time for history. This place has a tranquil setting.
Dawn Morris
Some of the trails seem nearly unused with the amount of spiders spanning them. There is a bridge that is half rotten and extremely weak which needs repaired on the same trail. Other than that it's a nice spot with a good mix of wildlife. I don't frequent the camp grounds, but it was extremely busy this weekend. Overall, I'd go back to see the rest of the park. I did arrive in the afternoon and had limited daylight available.
L.D Indiana
Great path around the lake. You can go all the way to the top of the fire tower. Very nice park!
Shawn
Second year in a row coming here. Stay Sunday - Thursday to avoid a full site. There maybe 10 camps here right now. Restrictions are clean and cleaned daily.
It's a shame about the trees getting sick from people bringing their own firewood. I guess bugs hide in the bark. I don't mind getting my wood here to help support the park
Perry T
Beautiful park, great prices we had a nice stay. We only stayed one day but we definitely need two or three to enjoy everything this place has to offer, they do hikes through the Lincoln boyhood home memorial that is located right by the campground. Definitely a must see if you stay there.
Karen Browning
We enjoyed camping here! The campsites were well maintained and all had water. There are some spots with weird angles so be sure to check the pictures before reserving. The roads were a lot of one ways which makes it nice for kids to ride bikes safely. We also saw quite a bit of wildlife.
The bath houses were clean and well maintained. The showers had good water pressure and were swept clean of webs, etc. My only complaint here was the miniscule seat in the dressing portion of the shower.
The beach was clean and water was nice. Plenty of room to set up here. They had lots of boats available for rent including a duck paddle boat.
I highly recommend this state park! We will be back!
Billy Peveler
Beautiful park with lake and hiking trails fun for the whole family
Dylan Gogel
The nature center is awesome! Lots of animals and very clean.
Seth Husted
Great trails. Well maintained and loops from 1 to 10+ miles. The Firetower provides a great view. A nice lake and several ponds. The memorial is interesting. Campground was nice, but pretty crowded on a Saturday night.
Saw more trash around than some parks.
Jon Scott
This was our first time at a RV Park and Lincoln State Forest was wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and hiked throughout the park. The boyhood home of President Lincoln was very interesting and the facilities were immaculate. We’ve hiked many state parks and have backpacked with tents before, so having other campers in such close proximity was a concern. Not here - everyone was very nice and respectful of each other on noise and privacy. This is a must visit!
Michelle Courtney
We camped for 3 nights in Gobblers Run Campground. The majority of the sites are a little close for my preference, but most of the other campsites packed up and left on our 2nd day, so we were fine. We stayed at lot 207 (I recommend using 206, 171, or 226 if you want some space away from others). The site was right around the bend from a pit toilet, so that was convenient, and a short walk to the shower house. This was one of the best shower houses I've seen! Very nice. We hiked on the trails and saw a few deer (and plenty of squirrels haha). We will definitely be returning to stay, and hopefully take advantage of the kayaking opportunity!
Side note, if you stay here I also recommend taking a few hours to go across the street to the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial! It was cool to walk the trails where Lincoln once did as a boy, and pay respects to his mother Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 the museum was closed, but it was still great!
Michelle Granger
Great State Park and across the street from a National memorial. It is a historical location and provides interesting information about our 16th President. There is a nice beach including changing areas and store, fun trails, a nature center, and a large amphitheater. Ask about the Explore Program and State Park pins for kids when you arrive. Happy Trails. . .
Elizabeth Coker
Amazing state park with a lot to offer! Paddle boats, trails, a beach, and more! Lincoln's boyhood home is also right next door. The campgrounds were perfect, they even have water hookups and every site!
Erin Johnson
Great walk with the family. Staff is great. They offered a lot of information along the way! The animals on the farm were a plus for my 4 year old. He wasn't expecting to see a 3 week old calf. The lake/beach was very nice. A great way to cool off after hiking around the cabins for an hour and a half. Everything is nice and clean and the visitors center/church rest room was very clean.
Laura Bergner Owens
Indiana has great state parks and Lincoln State Park is one of my favorites! I stopped in while driving past to check out the group camp area. (My son reserved it for his Fall wedding.) The lake is a nice size for exploring by foot or vessel and boat rentals are available in season. In the warmer months, there are shows at the amphitheatre and the large beach is open. Nice trails and walking paths. I saw several joggers and dog walkers.
Across the street from the entrance is the Lincoln Boyhood National Park. And I saw what may be a tiny house vacation rental community just before that parks. Owensboro, KY is about 30 minutes away and has a beautiful downtown waterfront park.
There are rustic, modern family cabins, electric and primitive campsites, youth camps, and RV sites in addition to the group camp for up to 150 people with a complete, professional foodservice kitchen.
The group camp is an updated CCC camp I think. I just peered through the windows, but the cottages/cabbins appear to have 3 separate sleeping rooms and a large common area. Each one has a little deck with a full-sized picnic table and fire ring. They are well spaced with electric but no plumbing. Each cottage group has a pit latrine and hand washing sink. There is a giant dining hall that houses the park's Nature Center on the ground floor and a large bathhouse/shower facility with plumbing nearby. Great lake access too!
I held an international group campout at Lincoln State Park 15 years ago. We reserved individual camp sites and various shelters for our classes and group meals. It's perfect for group nature events, reunions, and of course, my son's rustic destination wedding!
Travis Miller
What a fantastic place for families! The park is well kept and preserved and lots to do
Pros:
-Great for families
-Cabin rentals
-Lake with a swimming beach / paddle boat rentals / canoes / kayaks / fishing
-Abe Lincoln monument
-General store in the park
-Nature center
Cons:
None that I could say

It was a sunny day around 55°. We went to bird the park. Nature was producing since we noticed around 25 species of bird. Also present were many many turtles sunning themselves as well as two beavers controlling their huge dam they built. March is still off season but also leads into spring which will allow more visitors to enjoy the warmer weather. We enjoyed the lighter human presence to some extent and did not have any problems accessing restrooms, using trails, having plenty of parking, and getting everywhere easy.
Tabitha Kepilino
Solo winter cabin camping, Heron Cabins, and I locked myself out of my cabin. No one else camped within a mile in any direction, with the sunsetting, temperatures dropping, without a coat, phone, keys, gloves, or hat. Wearing only jeans and a T-shirt, I walked to the camp gate and called 911. Park Ranger/Staff arrived in minutes, hauled me back to my cabin, unlocked my door, and was absolutely professional, friendly, and sympathetic. I'm absolutely embarrassed but 100% appreciative of State Park personnel! Additionally, the trails are well managed, my cabin is spacious and comfortable, and it's a beautiful park!
Travis Foster
Nice quiet place to fish
Pat Kissane
Love this park! It has become a must-stay campground for us on trips to Holiday World. Less than 5 miles from the park, this is much closer than many of the other lodging options. Usually the electric sites are pretty well booked up, but there is always plenty of non electric sites to choose from. The campground is quiet and the people who work there are always very helpful and pleasant. Just remember to purchase certified wood to burn, and a power inverter for the vehicle can be very helpful. Look forward to staying here much more in the future!
McKenzie Batten
We stayed in the Blue Heron family cabins & loved it! Very short walk to the lake and hiking trails. There was a full bed in one room & 2 sets of bunk beds in the other. AC worked well. The refrigerator/freezer was small but perfect for a week long stay. There was a stove and oven as well as a coffee maker (drip coffee). They provided some pots and pans, but no silverware or plates, cups or mugs. BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS. The mattresses do have a plastic protector around them. There is a full size bed and 4 twin size beds. I hope this helps for anyone planning on staying there 🙂 we would stay again & plan on staying in one of the cottages later this year with extended family!
Tina Jackson
Very nice park enjoyed the hike around the lake and over to Lincoln's Boyhood Memorial.
Mark Schlechty
Best hiking. The beach was crowded, but we were having a heat wave. Climbing the fire tower was fun. We didn't even see a small portion of what was available. I would highly recommend a visit. Copperhead snakes so live in the area, but they rarely night anyone week isn't being stupid, and bites are not usually fatal. I took this pic at Hemlock Cliff, which is in that southern region of the state.
Abigail Vaal
We rented a beautiful lakeside site this weekend. Campground staff went above and beyond to enrich our time. Abraham Lincoln himself came by to chat about his life and answer questions in impressive detail. A man from the nature center came around with his King snake and educated us on local serpents. And finally, when we sat by the lake in the evening to see if we could see the Perseid meteors come by, a staff member came by and spotted fish in the pond with the kids. The people are great, the grounds are clean and lovely. Can’t wait to return!
Nathan Davis
Nice campsite, really enforced the 1 vehicle only even if their visitors parking in un used camp sites, camp store opens at 1130 on Saturday is what sign said it didn't happen opened much later had to leave park for just simple items. Overall it's OK not the best or the worse good get away.
Zac Clark
This park has it all, except on-site sewer hookups. However, there's a lake, lots of trails, and cool attractions (like the town of Santa Claus, IN) nearby.
In general, if it had full hookups it would easily be a five star campground. Regardless, it should be a stop on your route.
Samantha Harry
Another vacation week well spent at Lincoln State Park! We love the park, the beach and the showers are great!
J Scheibler
Hidden gem right near Holiday World. We enjoyed learning about young Abe Lincoln while dodging raindrops. The fire watch tower view is worth the steps! You’ll also want to check out the National Park across the highway.
Victor Jennings
Love camping with the whole family here, lots to do for everyone.
Greg Hull
I was severely depressed that Abraham Lincoln did not greet me when I entered his park. I heard he was at the amphitheater but still no excuses. His house across the street needs some updates. He still catches rain in a barrel....get with the times Abe.
Suziesue
The kids loved the beach. Clean little beach not crowded at all.
Michael Sims
It was a great place to visit.
Robert Neukam
Very nice camping ground. Plenty of room to camp. Nice lake for relaxing or fishing. Has Historical Monuments.
Renee
Several well maintained trails, canoe and paddleboat rentals, nice beach. We stayed at the family cabins. You must bring sheets, towels (bath and kitchen), soap, plates, bowls, cups, eating and cooking utensils.
Lori Pyle
This is one of my favorite places in Southern Indiana. Beautiful park and kind people but camping rates keep raising and it's getting a little expensive to camp primitive and purchase wood because you can't bring any with you. On the other hand they have done a lot of great work lately including a bunch of new trees! Don't just drive by this place, you'll be missing out.
Alicia Grant
We love this park campground. Beautiful. Little to no ATT service.
Terry McCrarey
Fantastic, that is all I can say! This is a clean park, no trash anywhere. Bathroom and showers are great. Area for non-electric and electric camping. I have stayed in both sections and loved the qualities of each section. For non-electric I use my own solar panel and marine battery for power and lights. I go to Holiday World during day and when I get back to camp site my battery is recharged and I have power and light for the night. This saves cost over renting electrical site. Each site available is big enough for tent plus a vehicle. The electrical sites are larger for other types of non tent camping. This is a great park for the whole family. Be sure to buy a season pass for greater savings if you plan to camp there a lot!
Yes, I Loved camping there and will do so as often as I can, I have my season pass!
Frank Underwood
Don't know a lot about camping in the park, but the Amphitheater is a great venue. The park staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rich Reisz
The maintenance staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Top notch park.
Jerica Gunselman
Very clean kept, lot of nature to see, and fun things to do. Also great place to take pictures.
Will Arnett
Very clean park to camp at, plenty of trails and things to do nearby, also holiday world is not too far from here! There's plenty of shade for rent camping in the summer and the bathrooms and showers are very clean and well kept. We will definitely be back this summer for another round of camping!
Mary Spellmeyer
Live nearby so we visit often to fish, enjoy the beach, and walk the trails with our dogs.
MICHAEL Hubert
Great place to camp , great restrooms and shelter house. Nice beach and a whole lot more that you can do !
Lorie Van Hook
I enjoy swimming and kayaking there. The boat ramp is easy to load and unload my kayak.
Tonya Macer
I've been coming here all my life. Great Camping, Hiking, Bike Riding, Canoeing, Climb the Firetower, Nature Center, Amphitheater with live entertainment.
Evan Leclere
This is my favorite campground in Indiana that we've been to so far.
We love cottages they sleep 12 or 16 and they are less than $50 a night.
We love that the beach & everything is in walking distance. ( No golf carts everywhere) you can walk around the entire lake not a bad hike at all. Back side of the lake has a fire tower with beautiful views of the rolling hills of Southern ind.right across the street is the national park. And right down the road is holiday world.
Clay0581
Best state park for family gatherings no matter the season. Here is the view from Cabin 4 in early November.
Stepfanie Hawkins
If you come here camping be prepared to CAMP!! The park wi-fi is garbage, hardly ever connects and TV air (antenna) reception is non existent.
The park itself is beautiful, clean and has fantastic shower houses. For 32$ a night it's a good time.
Nicole Pope
Another excellent Indiana State Park experience. This one is all about history. Good campground. Nice little beach.
Paul “Crazy Legs” Stofko
Was in town staying in Santa Claus and needed to get some running miles in. Great trails to run and hike on and also an historical site containing Lincoln’s mom and sister gravesite.
Michael Wiseman
Amazing state park rich with history. Other local site include the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial, Santa Claus Indiana and Holiday World
William Hall
I was their on 8/20/22 swimming with the family it was a good time but when we got ready to leave it was 4:30 and the shower/ changing room's wer being closed and the (BOY) that was closing them was verry rude and disrespectful it wasn't evan close to the time that the swimming area closed so me and my family had to travel back to owensboro ky in wet clothes because their was nowhere to change into our dry clothes
Novie Newingham
We had a blast camping in this campground. the place was nice and all clean.
Ivory Dewig
Went tent camping and had a great time! They had awesome hiking trails that were well maintained and even had a fire tower you could climb! Also the bath house at the campground was nice!
Sherry Witten - Ward Realty Services
We go about every other year to this park. Just across the main road is Lincoln's boyhood homesite, his mother's burial plot and a wonderful museum dedicated to him. The park thas a nice nature center, a trail around the lake and swimming. Our camping group always has a great time. The large restrooms are cleaned daily.
Bambi Roberts
Fun piece of history! Swim at the beach, paddle boat, or take a tour of the park! It does cost a small fee to get in. Concession stand at the beach and outdoor showers available. Swimming is at your own risk, no life guards.
Bob Sloppy
It's a really nice place to walk and swim and rent a rowboat or kayak. However, I don't know if it was because it was hot or what but several of the people who worked there were not very friendly at all.
Mike Meisenhelder
Great place to go Camping
Alex Mourer
Beautiful fall campground. Nice trails and a neat nature center. A lot of the camp sites have water hookup.
Teresa Bailey
Such fun on a beautiful day. We went on the lake trail, which was a nice, easy walk. Loved the benches along the way to stop and enjoy the scenery.
Lyn The human
It's pretty good, accidentally stepped on a poor snake though, I'm sorry!
Thomas Shively
Quiet during the week, nice trails and lake to walk around or canoe. Lincoln boyhood home is just across the road and very much worth visiting.
Cynthia Markgraf
Lincoln State Park is amazing for family activities....hiking, paddle boating, fishing, swimming!
Bob Hamernick
Great place to stay. Lot's of things to do for kids and adults. From fishing to swimming at the beach ,and seeing where Abe Lincoln grew up all within walking distance
Nicole Pope
Great camping trip. There are multiple hiking trails and most have some sort of historical stuff associated with them. Also there's a nice little nature center with some hands on historical stuff for the kids.
Darlene orangIas
No one but us on trails 3,4,5 so deighted but need trail heads. We were always searching and wslking around do much looking for the right trail.
Lisa
We always love coming to Lincoln State Park. One of our favorite places to camp
Brenda Carter
Very clean and well kept park with trails, fishing, boat rental, and a swimming beach. Hike to the fire tower if you get a chance, the view is amazing!
Sandy Lamar
Very clean and nice place to hike and camp ,go swimming
Neil Bushau-Sprinkle
Very beautiful and clean. The sites were nice, most looked level. Alot have trees even after they cut a lot out. The boat rental was extremely easy and very reasonable, 8.xx$ for a paddle boat for 1hr. It doesn't matter how many people. The swimming beach looked nice, although my wife and I did not get to visit it. Staff was extremely friendly. They have 2 drive up places side by side to dump your sewer tanks. Great place, we will definitely be back. We stayed at site 46.
Cody Brummett
Love this park great trail helpful staff and hours of fun.
Amy Miller
The park was really clean as well as the beach and cabin. The staff went above and beyond to help us when our truck broke down. The staff was amazing! We will definitely be going back. My husband and I have been there several times in the past, but this trip was the best even with vehicle trouble.
Matthew Thompson
Staff was nice. Park was empty. Bathrooms and showers were nice and clean. They could have put a heater in the bathrooms so they were not so cold. Family had a great time looking at everything near by.
Red
My wife, my 5 kids , and I stayed in a cabin which was great!! We all loved it, but my in laws have RV's. They all stayed in the camper part with about a million other people. I'm sorry but campers lined up in rows all about 25 feet apart is not my idea of a good time. There was a nice big lake, but the fishing sucked. We tried everything, and we're only able to land a few very small bluegills. If you're going I hope you get a cabin, otherwise I cannot see how you will possibly enjoy your trip.
Andy Hoffman
A wonderful place filled with nature and peace.
Kathleen Thompson
Great state park with lots to do. If you're a history buff you're in for a treat. The park is located right across from the farm that Abe grew up on. So there's a national park property in very close proximity. The state park has a memorial plaza dedicated to Lincoln's early years age 9-30 before he went to Illinois. October weekends are set aside for Halloween activities with trick or treating and campsite decorating. The nature center has year round staffing so you can visit and learn about the indigenous animals in the area. Don't own a camper or tent? No problem, there are cabins available. If you're here between Memorial and Labor Day the beach is open for swimming, kayaks and paddle boats are also rentable so you can enjoy Lake Lincoln. I was also impressed with the accessible ramp so ADA individuals could enjoy the beach too. Also onsite is the Lincoln Amphitheater that offers entertainment during the peak months.
RJ McIntyre
My family loves coming here every year..great place
Lauren Dennison
We love Lincoln State Park!! It is a great historical place to visit with the family. We usually rent camp but rented one of their chalets last time which was wonderful!!
Lisa Scherle
We attended one of the concerts and had a blast !! It was so much fun !!
Sheila Todd
Wonderful quiet park… camping, kayak rentals, a lovely beach that is clean and well kept.

Amazing Evansville philharmonic orchestra concert and middle school and high school chorus singing.

naresh nandhigam
Beautiful place to visit. Boating is awesome with walk trails
Natalie Hill
I have been visiting Lincoln Park since I was a child. It has now turned into our favorite picnic and swimming spot. Its only $9 a car load from out of Indiana and $7 if you live in Indiana. There is something for everyone. Lots of fun for the entire family
Nicole S
Was nice, clean campground. Definitely trying to get their bucks in with as many people they let in there. Went for a walk thru Living farm of Lincoln's boyhood home. Was neat place we will be back but will pick our spot more carefully now that we have seen how crammed it is.
Jacquelyn S
Been going for years with family!!! Love this place since I was a kid!
Dylan Carter
Had an amazing time camping wish it would have lasted longer!
Julia Pillow
My family and I have gone several times this year to camp in the 'modern' campground in our camper. We love the area, and appreciate having individual water hook ups (in season). Most lots are fairly good sized and easy to get in to. Great trails. We also take our kayaks out on the lake and enjoy biking around the park. Bathrooms have been clean and well maintained every time we've been there, and park staff have been extremely pleasant.
I agree with some of the others that park admission should be included in the campsite rental fee. Since they only allow one vehicle at the campsite, they need more parking 'up top.' Note - I agree with the one vehicle per site rule, with the exception of tent camping. I think a camper and vehicle, or a tent and two vehicles. However, the roads are small/narrow and there just isn't enough room for a mid-sized camper and two vehicles.
Negatives they can't help - Be ready for lots of kids riding on bikes. I take my kids and we take our bikes. We love riding around the park. Just be aware that you need to park away from the road and that there will be littles riding that may not be able to stop, and may not get out of the way for moving vehicles - our truck has sustained damage from kids on bikes crashing into it (parked off the road by several feet), and while you should always remain vigilant when driving - kids can pop out of nowhere.
Overall we love the facility and it's our absolute to go for camping. Close to conveniences (groceries, restaurants) and there's tons to do, including Holiday World at less than 5 miles away.
Ronda Howard
Great place to relax and explore the outdoors!
Bonnie Thompson
Nice walking trails with information about Lincoln's early life.
Jill Sermersheim
Campground Review:
Sites are really close together and a lot are extremely unlevel and do not very well accommodate the size camper they suggest. Also, they have a super strict campground DNR when it comes to having a visitor drive by and stop for a few minutes to chat, One Vehicle Per Site, NO MATTER IF YOU'RE DISABLED or have a visitor who is...
Park Review:
The park itself has a lot to offer all walks of life, young, old, families, singles/couples.
Hiking, kayaking, fishing, playgrounds, beach with swimming!
Joe
Nice state Park. Close to Abe Lincoln's museum. Cannot drive around without paying a fee. I could not speak to anyone by phone. Website has minimum 2 day camping rentals. I was attending an event at the amphitheatre inside the Park and only needed 1 night accommodations but apparently Park requires minimum 2 night rental.
Reginald Smith
Lot 132 is good level parking spot. Picnic table and fire ring on uneven ground.

We had so much fun! My kids love going to the lake to hang out on the beach and swim. Plenty of more shallow water for my smaller kids and my teenager still has a blast every time.
Chuck Benslay
This is a very nice State Park and the staff were all very friendly. The campground is very well maintained and clean. There are hiking trails and a nice beach. You can rent kayaks, canoes and pedal boats as well.
Dolly Lowry
RV park was practically full when we arrived mid sun. aft. By that eve it had thinned out ,by Monday evening it was not crowded. We had a site with a view of the lake, fire pit, elec hookup,& water all close by.
Site was close to Lincoln memorial park and trails to see the attractions were maintained, and easily accessible.
Very enjoyable.
Ruby Norris
I've camped at Lincoln for many years. Love it.
Ronnie Hubert
One of the best campgrounds I've been to
Josh Stratton
One of my most favorite places on earth
Dawn Michelle Seidl Godsey
Love this beautiful sanctuary and park. A family favorite.
Nick Doub
The campgrounds are very clean and are beautiful. The only down side is the roads are small with one thoroughfare as the main road and small one way to the sites. Other than that the park is really nice, restrooms are clean, the beach is great for a hot summer day, also it's very close to Holiday World. Definitely coming back to this park again!
Jacob Graham
Lots of great things too do swim, paddle boat, camp, visit old homesteads to see how they lived during Lincoln's time. Absolutely wonderful
Jay Stevens
It's one of my favorite places to camp
gdvm1000
Honeslty a cool place to check out, including the fire tower. My family has gone many times here, so we know its pretty fun. My only complaint, is I wish that the bathrooms and other rooms were kept in higher condition. Sometimes it seems like no ones cleaned in years. But other than that, a pretty fantastic place to visit.
todd davis
Great place for a concert! The workers were very friendly. A well behaved crowd with a sold out show.
angel fernandez
Beautiful place, nice beach lake, just given 3 start because the staff are disrespectful. A lot of people going there to camp and have fun and try to has a different day and night, and after 11pm we can't even speak because that's a complaint. If you guys want quiet night stay home and sleep in your bed!
Mark Bohnert
Nice place to camp, swim, hike and enjoy nature
Alexis Pruitt
Absolutely one of my all time favs. Park is clean and very expansive. The scenery and amenities are spot on. I completely and totally recommend this park. Everyone should see it at least once in their life.
Tim
Nice park with some good hiking trails. Some fairly long, but moderate. The group camp area looked interesting. It would be fun the to have a group camp there and do a couple trails per day. The fire tower is a nice feature, and still open to climb up. I forgot to pack binoculars.

Very fun. The workers at the replica were very nice and did a great job of answering any questions we had.
Christin Turner
We love coming here, but recently have had a park national on our butts. Park was not packed and made me move my car (which is understandable as its a rule) but while my husband followed me to bring me back, the kids we sitting on their buttons in the back of the truck while he was going 5 mph and he made them get into the truck. 🙄 …
Lisa Hartley
Lovely beach and trails. The Lincoln memorial visitors center was very nice!
One member of our party lost phone and a young man in the beach concession stand found it!! He was extremely helpful!
Tammy Roberts
Beautiful and clean. There is a small fee to enter the park. The hike to the Firetower is very pretty. Lots of raw nature and beautiful scenery. The ranger at the Nature Center answered our questions and was so nice. The bathroom in the nature center is clean!! Several trails to walk along. Canoes can be rented. There is a small beach for swimming. A great park to spend the day exploring!
Natasha Roberts
We rented a cabin for the week, which we were very happy with. We wish there was a microwave, but all other expected amenities. The price seemed a little high, but we had a fabulous time. The cabins are tucked back in a quiet secluded area, so it's nice and peaceful. There is a small playground right there and each cabin has a picnic table, a grill, and a fire pit.
The park had cheap boat rentals, a nice beach with a basketball court and beach volleyball. The camp store was small, but the building it is in a nice and has hot food for sale during the day. There are many other activity options and wildlife was abundant. It was an amazing experience as a whole.
Lori Roberson
I love this park. It's always clean and there are so many things to do. My favorite is the living cabin. They have trails, canoeing, paddle boats, camping, grills, playgrounds, church, amphitheater, scheduled activities and a lot of Lincoln history
David Lehr
Great place for relaxing and fun with the family. Plenty of places to walk and explore. Swimming is also available.
John Ooley
A nice park for cabin camping and kayaking at the lake. The beach is open for the public to enjoy. The camping sites were busy on the 4th but it was nice and quiet during the week. The Lincoln boyhood home is nice to see if it is open. Plus 25 mins or less from Holiday World. A good alternative to a hotel.
Tracy Beaman
Lovely place will definitely return
Laura Bond
Absolutely LOVE this place!! Spacious campsites - plenty of shade. The beach area is great too! The park itself is so nice - lots of places to picnic. Close to Holiday World too. Such a peaceful and beautiful place - a real treasure!
Nathan Haas
Great place. Randomly stopped by and wow was this place nice and clean.
Christy Finecy
I am so disappointed in people who visit the park and think it is okay to trash it up. I picked up several cigarette butts, plastic wrappers and other discarded items. I was taught to leave a hiking trail, picnic or campsite in better condition than I found it. I definitely think I did that today.
JB Matoushek
We travel there with our Girl Scout Troop and stayed in the Scout Cabins! Very nice, with electric, and only a short distance to the flush toilets & shower house. Super close to Holiday World, and so many other attractions.
Bill C
Great facility!! Spacious sites with plenty of room for camper and people to spread out. Just enough room for two vehicles without getting on the grass though.
Nicholas Wagenbrenner
We love coming here during the month of October. Each Saturday they close the park down to vehicles and the kids trick or treat through the RV part of the park. Almost every camper has Halloween decorations like a house would. Some are very elaborate and really cool to see. The campers sit along the road ways with candy and the kids walk from camper to camper collecting goodies. Honestly better than ANY trick or treating I've ever done as a kid! We stay in the tent campground and other than the occasional raccoon at night, we've had no bad stays. There is a lake that you can rent paddle boats, and Holiday World is 10 minutes away. Plenty of things to do around the area. Definitely come check out the Halloween camping though. This will be our 4th year and I'm sure it won't be our last!
Stacey Mozingo
We had a great time. Took a couple of walks and saw the Lincoln National Boyhood Memorial. There were lots of people in the park on July 4th. But nothing too crazy.
Cathy F
Beautiful place. Great for a day trip and picnic.
Angel Bennett
Great place to swim. Not very busy at all. You can rent kayaks and paddle boats. It's very clean. I definitely recommend and will be going back soon.
Jessica Brooks
Been a while since ive camped here. But what I do remember was nice people, great lakes, awsome and adventurous hiking trails, seen dead animal bones. Pretty cool nature center with tons and animals and artifacts. And cant forget the watch town. Great little hike up that and wait till you see the view above the trees. Just amazing. Definitely a place everyone must visit. Boy hood is right across the street from there.
Rachel Waggoner
We absolutely love going camping here. It is beautiful in the campsites are always so clean. The beach area is extremely clean. We love hiking on the trails as well. Most of the time while camping here we go to Holiday World and it is a great distance away.
Logan Hunter
Well maintained trails, several historical landmarks, wonderful views. One of my favorite places to run/hike in the area. I usually go here to run several times a month. The only negative I can think of is the fact that all indoor bathrooms are closed and the water spickets are turned off during the winter season.
Taylor Heise
The campground is very clean as are the bathrooms. The lake and trails were excellent. Makes for a great day trip to the beach. Multiple places around the lake for entry in kayak/canoe. Such a peaceful place to relax!
Douglas McLean
I love this State Park. It feels cozy and familiar to me. My family and I have stayed in the cabins before, but this time I was walking/hiking the trails while my daughter and a friend were at near by Holiday World for the day. The trails were quiet and easy to traverse. Take the number 4 or 6 to Weber Lake for a peaceful walk in the forest perhaps you'll encounter a train on the tracks which pass through the park. Trail number one is an easy hike around Lake Lincoln which was a bit busier since the beach, campground and fishing are located here. If you're feeling adventuresome, take the side trail up to the fire tower and enjoy the breezes and the view. And as always were bug repellent so you don't pick up a tick hitchhiker like I did - no worries he wasn't infected. Not a big deal just all part of being in the great outdoors, but take precautions and enjoy.
Tienda Genesis
Nice place, good experience.
Michael Hembree
The park was nice and clean and the workers were really nice. My issue was the cabin. There was no towels, no was clothes, no pillow cases, sheets, or bed spreads on the beds. There were a few pots and pans, but no eating or cooking utensils, there was a coffee pot but no microwave. The bath room was so small it was had to turn around in, and the bathroom walls didn't go all the way to the ceiling so there was no privacy while using the bathroom. The shower dripped all night long and I had to turn it so tight to get it to shut off that I was afraid I was going to break it. There wasn't even trash bags to replace the ones being used. Now if they would of told us that we had to bring all of this stuff it would be different but there is nothing on the website about all this missing stuff. Stayed at a lot of state Parks in Tennessee never had this issue. One other thing that bothered me was the day use fee. We had to pay a $9 day use fee for being out of state and using the park this was on top of the 188 that we already spent for the cabin this fee should have been waved or added to the price of the cabin. You don't have fees like that in Tennessee.
But it was a nice clean park the park gets 5 stars but with those shoddy cabins its a 3.
Mike McDermott
Nice hike around the lake. Muddy in several spots
Kelly Wood
My favorite place for family vacation and camping. Nice beach, playground, paddle, canoeing and 🚣. Hiking trails and History tours with a pioneer village, museum and history memorial. Beautiful southern Indiana with French Lick, Holiday World, skiing and so much more nearby. …
Kathleen Hamernick (The Bobkat Cooking Show)
Great place to go, lots to do. Friendly place, very clean.
Tori Spalding
Very nice park and very nice camp attends. We had campsites 109 &110. One thing we didn't like was you are only aloud one car per campsite you can have two things to stay in but can only have one car. Then the Lincoln boyhood home park across the street is beautiful as well.
Eric Smith
Nice park with nice staff. But....when you pay for a campsite, you should NOT have to pay the entry fee. That would be like booking a room at a hotel and then they ask you for 9 more dollars when you try to go in the lobby. Just seems like a way to get more money out of us.
Matthew and Patty Bucken
Nice park with small lake and beach area. Some decent trails and easy access the Abraham Lincoln boyhood home park area.
Of course close to holiday world as well.
We stayed at the family cabins, and while they are pretty good for state park cabins was not as clean or fresh smelling as we would have liked when we first got there (deducting 1 star from what I would have rated otherwise). As well the kitchen supplies were just a few pots/pans so bring everything else you might need. The screened front porch is really nice area to spend time.
Park staff were helpful and friendly.
Matthew Rhodes
Great RV Park with nice walking trails, extra clean restroom & shower house!
Josh & Dana New
Great place, one of our families favorite campgrounds!
Amanda ENSOR
Beautiful park. My family and I stayed in the tent area which was nice. The thing is, there was no trees and we were not in the woods at all. Many people were next to us. They have easy access to the lincoln boyhood area. Our trip was good, just wish it was more camping-like.
Willie Chaney
Spent a week in the state park campground. Nice place to camp during the week , crowded on the weekend.
Park was full.
Lots to see and lots to do.
Enjoyed the hands on at the boy hood home of Mr. Lincoln
Michal Horace
Well-marked trails. Beautiful setting with woods and lake. Added bonus as you hike of pondering how Lincoln also walked these woods as a boy. Great summer concert series each year.
Tamara Mazzoccoli
The trails were maintained and easy for those that do not hike much. Great place for beginners in hiking. Campsites were nice, bathrooms were clean, and Park staff were welcoming.
Cory Ratcliffe
Lincoln State Park is a great little spot to enjoy the outdoors. If you're an Indiana resident it is only $7 to get in. Then you have access to trails, campground areas, the water, and play areas. We rented a canoe for $5 for one hour and enjoyed every bit of it. I definitely recommend this park to anyone looking to get out and enjoy nature right here in Indiana.
Marcus Hayes
Super great cabins. Very comfortable for our family of five. Good hiking for kids. Canoe and paddle-boat rentals available, reasonable rates. Small sandy beach co-occupied by people and geese.
Brittany Sprague
Make sure to use the bathrooms connected to the swimming area. The others are quite terrible (spiderwebs across the tops, etc).
Overall great park, great swimming area and we'll maintained grounds. Spent two days at a family reunion here
phillip ross
Stayed at a "primitive" camp site. I was about 100 feet from a water source, 300 feet from a bathroom and about 1/4 mile from a shower. I suppose that justifies the cost $$. The Lincoln monument here is worth checking out for sure. The whole park is well maintained.
Brandon Oliver Berry
Great camping and beautiful trails
Mitchell Frazier
It was beautiful. Definitely climb the fire tower if you are able and comfortable with heights. Also at the bottom of the dam is a Moon seedling tree that was taken to the moon!
Geoffrey Baker
Wonderful state park in southern Indiana. Many trails and paths to hike. Lots of history as well. Directly across the road from the National Park. Campgrounds were very clean and well maintained.
Mark McCrocklin
Great state park! Beautiful lake with a very nice beach. Perfect for wading. Clean bathhouse. Hot showers. Only 5 minutes from holiday world.
Brian Hammett
Great place to revisit history. All of the pieces you get to witness while walking through the woods at this park is overwhelming. Much of Abraham Lincoln's formative years were spent in this area at various stores or mills that were located in these woods. It has gone through several changes during its history. Now it has been devoted to staying a state forest. Many amenities and activities for the whole family.
M Horton
Absolutely gorgeous. Clearly a hidden gem.
Tabitha Howard
Lots of fun boats to rent. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. Nicely maintained playground. Super clean bathrooms and warm showers 👍 …
Ron Ryan
Been 45 years but still cool. Lake with a beach, still need to shower afterward. Reservations recomended for camp sites, 30 and 50 amp service with water, no sewer. Fairly shady throughout camping area. Primite sites also available. Boat rental, fishing, hiking.
Joe Conley
Nice park to spend a day or to go camping. Lake with paddle boats for rent, as well as fishing, a beach, and playgrounds. Lots of hiking trails.
43srb
Nice park, complete with beach area,boat/kayak/canoe rental.Did not stay at the campground, but drove through, nice clean campground. Will most likely be back to camp here.
Brad Meyers
I visit every year for our local SCA event. The facilities are great with a comfortable dining hall an good kitchen. The grounds are more than large enough for our event. Definitely recommend.
Ron Cassel
Very nice park. Staff was friendly and helpful site were fairly level lake was very nice. Enjoyed but could only stay one night Holiday weekend was there and sites were reserved
Richard Stone
Very nice 👍, not a Trump flag in site. …
Kimberly Winkelmann
The camp grounds are clean. There are a lot of flat spots. The girls bathrooms and showers were very clean. The campground staff have been nice and helpful.
Eric Nunn
Five stars for knowing it is not the National Boyhood Memorial. The state park is not where the cabin is. Love the lake, love the clean park and trails. It is my favorite state park in Indiana. I made a lot of great memories here as a child, and I keep making more.
Paul Burch
The trails are well kept with a variety of long and short treks with swimming, camping, history, a living pioneer homestead in the summer. It's a wonderful place to take your family and create lifelong memories
Kit Silver
Beautiful park. I'm a photographer and I've shot senior pictures and engagement pictures here. Very scenic. Love the trails and the farm. There's so much to explore here.
Erik Varden
Excellent clean state park with lots to do without breaking the bank. Super friendly staff. We love the lake, kayaks and beach. Look em up.
Ryan Schmitt

Christopher Russell
Very nice and awesome place and lots to do with kids.
Dale Weaver
Very pretty area. Nice lake for fishing and plenty of hiking/walking trails. A beach area for swimming and a store for refreshments and supplies.
Liz Riffert
One of our favorite state parks in Indiana. Nice campsites, good trails, beach swimming in the summer, and the national park acr6the street with working historic farm is cool history for the kids.
Greg Harty
This State park offers wonderful hiking trails as well as cultural history. The Little Pigeon Creek Settlement is within the park boundary offering you a chance to see the area where Abraham Lincoln grew up. The base of the horse powered mill was an interesting find. Don't miss the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza, this is a very visual informative monument for all ages and is right by convenient parking.
Sandy Crosby
We have been camping at Lincoln State Park. It has a nice Campground & Beach area. They also have paddle boats & canoes you can rent. It is a Nice & Very clean State Park.
Mark Corn
We have camped at Lincoln State Park for many years. The camp sites are spaced out nicely. We almost always hike to the fire tower and around the lake. I would highly recommend visiting during the fall for the best camping experience.
SuzanneC
Beautiful place to camp, boat, hike, swim or just have a picnic. Been going here since I was a child. Now I'm still enjoying it with my grandson. Never dissapointed!
Adrienne Holmes
I've enjoyed Lincoln for many years now always clean and beautiful everytime I go..
Matthew Herbert
Lincoln State Park is great if you want a place to stay for several days and you have a pass to Holiday World. And you go several days to Holiday World. The park itself is ok it was my first time up to Lincoln State Park. The park rules are different than others parks I have been at. Only 1 vehicle per camp site, which I understand that it cuts down on traffic for safety. They are keen on safty no bikes or skate boarding after a certain time. Downtime or quite hours are visibly posted before you enter the park. The fishing at the lake is ok caught several bluegill but not enough to make a meal. I heard that there is channel cats in the lake but didn't catch any. I may have not had the right bait though.
Brenda Smith
Wow! Can not believe that they want to charge us $2.00 per person on the bus - just to take our students into the park to eat while on a field trip to the Lincoln National Park! I always thought that our state parks belonged to the people of the state to enjoy! I guess we have to purchase them now - everytime we enter the gates.
Twitch Schmidt
Always a fun place to cool off on a hot day. The trails are usually clear and the park is kept clean
John Chase
Walked a trail around the lake. It was nice and clean.
Heather Crissey
A great place to take the kids for learning and adventure. Museum is beautiful and air conditioned. Trails are well kept. Make sure to have your walking shoes on.
Kerly
First time staying here. Very clean sites with water hook-up, fire ring and bath/shower house. Close to Holiday World amusement park.
Kenneth Hawthorne
Staff are friendly. And shows are usually pretty decent, great prices on events and food.
Mark Steysteck and Kellie Speedy have really helped this place bloom.
Lincoln would be proud!
Drew Knox
Of the several dozen state parks that I've visited, this is at the top of the list. Tent campers will delight in finding a spacious area (Gobbler's Run) separated from RVs and a clean, modern washroom. Two unique features are an amphitheatre and Pigeon Creek Church, where Lincoln attended and his older sister is buried.
Jenn Albright
Very nice park. Very helpful campground hosts.
dr D.R.E
Really nice park camp fishing and swimming also is a home of Abraham Lincoln u can see the cabins where he grew up when he was little and much more
Roger latham
We haven't been here in years and it has really improved. Bathhouse were very modern and clean . Campgrounds were well taken care and nice. Way to go DNR.
Joyce Kingsbury
We loved this place. It is well maintained and everyone we encountered were very friendly and helpful 😀. We will be going back very soon... …
Mike Schmidt
The park was beautiful, but the sites were a little hard to manage with the large size of camper I travel in. It would probably be fine with a pop up camper or tent
Wayne Nall Jr
Great place for family recreation!
Morgan Carroll
Great pricing on kayak/paddle boat/fishing boat rentals, super clean and well-kept, and only $9 to get in for out-of-state visitors. Definitely coming back!
William Starkey
Nice place to get away . No phone or internet. Back to the old days lol
Christopher Schmitt
Good place to camp and visit. Nice lake with paddleboard rentals and fishing. Hiking trails are also good. It is near the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial and only 15inutes from a grocery and dollar store for all of those "I forgots"
Paul Sandefur
All in all we had fun a little warm but wasn't their fault If they'd let me bring my own fishing boat it would've been a 5 *
Mike Williams
Campsites were a little close... other that that, very friendly staff. Great atmosphere, and most everything you would do is walking distance from camping area... definitely would recommend and will visit again for sure
Jen Richardson

Idk it was kinda run down seeming, nice to get out in the nature though! Beautiful! Don't know why I paid 7 dollars though, nothing was available and everything was pretty run down. That being said it's early so maybe just the way things are in early in the year.
Carl Tha Prez

Beautiful park with nice camping location. The only drawback was the price. Park fee and camping fees (combined) were too expensive for out of state travelers.

Great time fishing in the lake. They aren't big, but they are hungry. Try a Neko rig lure or good ol' fashioned worm on a hook.
