This shop has helped me a couple of times over the years. They helped me order the PERFECT beginning roller derby skates— WHILE I was out of the states in CANADA! They worked so hard and got me the perfect fit via email! Amazing! Recently, I just ordered some new cruising wheels from them and the service was outstanding. This place is freakin awesome! The owner is super knowledgeable on all things roller skating. She helped me get a new set of wheels and bearings on my otherwise horrible impala boots. She also helped my husband find the perfect skate for his wide feet. His feet hurt all the time from working in the hospital industry and his biggest worry with beginning to skate again as an adult, was that he wouldn’t be able to find a skate comfortable enough to actually help support his feet while skating. And she helped us find the perfect fit! Absolutely love how helpfully she is. And she has an amazing selection as well of all the accessories and good stuff that makes us skaters excited ! Check her out! Also, the shop has been in her family since I believe the 70’s she said! Woman owned and operated since then!

Wanted to relive my youth and start roller skating to exercise. I did a lot of research online. Ran across Skaters Choice Skate Shop 🛼. Contacted them on Facebook about certain skates I was interested in purchasing. They responded and were very informative. Took the 40 minute ride to the shop. Best decision I made. The shop is family ran and a friendly environment. Marybeth was very knowledgeable. I was able to try skates on, even the ones I was looking to purchase online. So glad I did this, I tried on about six different brands and found my perfect comfort and fit. The shop has a lot of brands and everything you need when it comes to roller skates. 🛼🥰

Beyond Happy!!!! Just got the Riedell 172 OG Roller Skate boots with the fur I ordered online! Had ones like this when I used to skate all the time as a teenager with Snyder custom deluxe plates. These two ladies in the shop were exceptionally nice and made my day! They got my skates ready to go and jam 😁😊☺️🛼🛼🤗! I accidentally selected shipping and was able to get a skate bag instead. I purchased my skates from Skater’s Choice back in January after some research. The shop owner was so helpful and kind. She assisted me in finding just why I was looking for and making sure the fit and style was right for me. I ended up with Moxi Beach Bunny skates. I absolutely love my skates and use them twice a week taking my daughter to skating and lessons. They are so comfortable and have great support for my weaker ankle as Mary promised. I look forward to shopping with them again for some indoor specific wheels and eventually more quality skates for my daughter once she slows down growing. Thank you!

Amazing experience getting my first pair of skates as an adult. I tried on several pairs and everyone was very patient. Ray, Linda and Tim (I think I have their names all correct) were incredibly helpful. The skates that Linda recommended are extremely comfortable and I'm very happy I went with them over the Moxis. I am new to Roller Derby and did research, talked to other Derby girls and decided I wanted a pair of Bonts. I called Skaters Choice and talked to Amber, she was so extremely kind and helpful, she never made me feel stupid. Two days later I drove two hours to their store and bought ALL my gear, got almost home and realized I forgot my brand new Derby helmet. I just started skating again about 8 months ago. The staff working here are so nice and knowledgeable. MaryBeth changed my wheels and Ray put jam plugs where my big toe stops were. Between skates, laces, wheels, toe covers, jam plugs, bags, safety equipment, and accessories, this store really has everything you need! Now that the shortage on skates seems to be abating, there are dozens of styles and brands to choose from. The staff here loves skating and it comes across in their interactions with the customers. United Skates is an awesome rink and I'm so happy to be a part of this community.

Their knowledge is exceptional and one of the reasons i wont shop anywhere else. Take my advice and keep your skate shopping and accessories local. Not only did they go above and beyond but they aren’t out to Just take your money, she educated me on the differences in the wheels, skates and accessories. The best $420 I spent in a while. They have some really good quality skates, I recommend calling ahead or ordering online to make sure they have your size but they have great quality skate products for a very decent price! And the woman that helped me find my skates today was so kind and made sure I found the right skates. Oh and just a tip, the skate shop is inside the roller skating rink but you can go right in and you shouldn’t have trouble finding it if you ask someone who works there.

Mary Beth may be the most helpful person when it comes to skates in the whole dang state. She showed me some great plates (I couldn't get them mounted since I was only in town for a few days) and was pretty stocked on everything you'd need. I got Atom Pulse Wheels with bearings and a bag. If you're remotely near Tampa, you need to go to this shop.

This is where I buy my skates. I have been purchasing skates from this shop since 2015 - for roller derby, inline, and custom skate builds. I intend on picking up a pair of park skates soon, I highly recommend this shop for all of your quad needs - and decent inline selection as well! They're also fully equipped to handle JB and Jam skater needs, I'm just not a good rhythm skater.. so I can't speak to that too much. Support your local Tampa skate shop, please.

I stopped in May 27th in search of some better wheels for my sure grip fame skates. Right now during covid it’s impossible to find skates or anything skate related. I walked in and spotted the new Jackson vistas and ended up buying a pair and also got the radar energy wheels and a few other small things. First of all, the building itself screams pure nostalgia. It felt so good to walk thru and “smell” my childhood! Even tho the place was empty with everything going on, it just made me feel good! Customer service was impeccable! She really let me take my time and look around and just be happy to be in public surrounded by so many dope skates! Don't bother shopping for roller skating gear online if you're anywhere near Tampa. Skaters Choice really has just about everything you'd need for skating, including things you may never have thought of (a leather carrying case for my VNLAs?). The staff are experienced skaters who knew all the places in the area where I could try out my new outdoor wheels, and I spent a sublime afternoon rolling in the sunshine.
