Good indoor range. Air conditioning. Friendly customer service. Firearms are a little pricey. Ammo also pricey. Bring your own ammo if you can. Prices on accessories are reasonable and worth shopping around in their store section.

It is a really nice range but the prices have gone up in the last couple years. I paid around $18 for range fees, $2 for targets. Rounds are very expensive no matter where you buy them from especially If you're using larger caliber rounds like myself. For an afternoon at the range. Expect to fork out around $100. Kind of expensive hour and a half. But it was a Christmas present to myself and had a good time. Note.. they do offer a membership for I think around $25 a month for unlimited range time.

Came to buy an optic. First salesman seemed annoyed we were buying something and gave me the wrong dot size. Went back the next day to replace it and that salesman was nice but gave me the wrong version which wouldn’t fit on my gun. He hadn’t even heard of the version he gave me. I went back in again to finally get the one I want and need. Hopefully they train up there staff more. My experience was generally annoying.

This review is based solely on my “tire-kicking” experience yesterday (Oct 18, 2022). Rather than assuming anything about me the young men I interacted with yesterday (and I’m kicking myself for not getting their names) asked pertinent questions as to what I was looking for and my experience level… all very respectfully. I’m no pro, but have been around firearms for decades and know my terminology albeit with not much experience. From then on it felt to me like I was chatting it up with friends. “Check this one out.” “Now compare the trigger on that one to this one, see” “Look at how smooth the slide is on this one.” It was fantastic and it really helped me narrow down my wish list. As to the prices, they seemed in line with what I expected from an establishment of this caliber. Can I find things cheaper online from some dude selling out of a barn in Wyoming? Of course, but then who will I complain to when I can’t find well-stocked, well-lit, air-conditioned gun shops in my local area to compare from thousands of firearms within arms reach? Even the largest collector can see the logic in paying a bit more to support a local business and keep some of your neighbors employed. Besides, the prices here are farrr from the gouging I’ve seen at other Bay area shops. Off my soapbox now. Will certainly be stopping by again for a purchase soon when I get my ducks in a row.

This location is nice and clean . It does get very busy at times but on off days during the week staff is always friendly and helpful . Large selection to purchase items on site . Range is large enough that I have not yet had to wait for a range during the week !

I've been going here since they opened on US19 then moved to Ulmerton rd. This is definitely my favorite range and gun store. I come here 1-4 times a week, always a good experience. The staff has always hooked me up with good firearms purchases and ammo and accessories too. I've bought over 30 guns from these guys and will continue to do so. The range is a very relaxed atmosphere where you can rapid fire as long as you can control your firearms, that is key! If you come here on a regular basis it's like the old TV show Cheers where everyone knows your name👍🙂. I would highly recommend these guys for purchases and shooting at the range. Always a good time!

Shoot straight has a great collection a of firearms and helped me pick out the gun I wanted. I actually l, at the last minute i wanted to upgrade and they made it happen within minutes. They do need more employees though, as I had to wait a while for a refund on something and a purchase of an extra magazine and holster. That’s really the only gripe I have. Please hire some more experienced workers so we won’t have to wait 30 mins for help. But still a great shop and good employees that know their stuff.

I often train people here in pistol fundamentals, ar 15 fundamentals, etc. Or I am warming up here for IDPA, USPSA or any 2 or 3 gun competitions. The managers Austin, and Andrew are as accommodating, and good to me as anyone could be. Love those guys. Still miss Patrick. What a great group of guys.

Hands down the best place to go to practice. Yes the staff seems to be lethargic but who cares, be a little more vocal and you'll get help, be nice and they r nice. Went on Monday and ladies practice free!!! Brought my own firearm and ammo along with ear protection and goggles, had a fabulous time and will be back on Monday!!

Great range, great guy's and fair prices. Disappointing to see negative reviews regarding service. I suspect that same customer violated a safety rule or simply was in there when it's extremely busy. Appreciate that these guy's may not sound 'customer friendly,' when you do something that could kill someone. Furthermore if it's extremely busy, (as with anywhere) you just have to wait your turn. Every time I've been to the range I've had a good experience. Prices are good... you might hear people say you can buy ammo/guns cheaper online, (which maybe true, but factor in delivery fees and time and it's really not that much cheaper in my opinion). My only complaint would be the lack of chairs in the range. Would be nice to see more chairs, ones that are actually tall enough to be comfortable sitting on... $20 from Walmart, should stock some in the back. I'd even pay a deposit to use one, that way they don't get damaged.

Nolan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the firearm that I wanted to purchase. Not only that, but I think its nice to have a person with personality and someone who generally is friendly to customers. Great customer service from Nolan.

Staff was nice and friendly. Very helpful and actually made me a great deal on a pistol. I’m from out of state and was in the area on vacation. Purchased a gun and had it shipped back home......that’s when the fiasco started. Was supposed to be shipped out the beginning of the week and wasn’t shipped until mid/end of the week. Called and was told 2 different stories about why shipping was delayed. Was told that holdup was on freight companies end. Found out firearm wasn’t shipped until Thursday evening when I was told it was shipped on Tuesday originally and then old later the same day it shipped Wednesday because of the carrier not showing up on Tuesday. (Honesty would have gone a long way and I feel I was lied to by them just trying to cover their own) According to the tracking number given label wasn’t even made until Thursday and want even picked up until end of day. Next my local gun store was called and notified by shoot straight staff that the firearm was apparently shipped in the incorrect box. So now I have to wait even longer because I won’t have the ability to shoot my firearm until I have all the correct equipment to do so. Again staff was nice, friendly, helpful, and willing to make a sale. The reason for only 3 starts is because of the problems with getting it home. So if buying out of state, buyers beware!!!

I appreciated that they kept an eye on the range and weren't complacent which I see often at other places. They would walk in and help others around us or clean up. Great place to go on a date

Went to Shoot Straight today with a friend and his wife. She was looking for her first handgun. Our sales person was “Dan”. He was polite, knowledgeable and most importantly double checked EVERY firearm he handed to her! What a great example to be showing a new shooter. I arrived to the Clearwater store on 3-25-22 in order to pick up a Kimber 1911 LW Custom that I ordered directly online from Shoot-straight a few days prior. I was met by Nick L. at the back counter. Nick was very polite and helpful from the start. I had a few questions that he answered willfully and was very well versed with various weapons. He even shared some pointers on how to deal with buying weapons from/through various sites. Nick explained in detail how the pick up process works and all paperwork that needed to be filled out. Nick seemed to be very enthused about his position and his passion for guns. Once my entire transaction was complete I thanked Nick for his time. As a first time customer I was truly pleased with with my experience at the clearwater location. From the ease of purchasing online all the way exiting to the store was pleasant. Thank-you.

The setup for a new customer to shoot at the range was very easy. After my range time I was looking for a knife and I believe Chandler was the one who helped me and he was extremely helpful in making my decision. I went in yesterday to checkout the Smith& Wesson M&P Shield "EZ". I received a warm friendly welcome from Juan. I explained what I was looking for and he took it from there. He was very courteous and knowledgeable, yet he never talked down to me, or tried to "upsell" me to something else. Once he answered all my questions, he gave me the time to decide on my own if the weapon was indeed what I wanted. Once I had made up my mind, he started the paperwork, throughly explaining what needed to be filled out and how. The entire process took about 20 minutes, start to finsh. After the sale was completed, I went on the range and fired 50 rounds throgh my new piece. Juan was absolutely correct, this is just what I've been looking for. I couldn't be happier with the EZ, or Juan and the rest of the staff at the Clearwater location.. You can rest assured I will be a repeat customer.

Just purchased my first firearm from these guys, and the process couldn't have been easier. I did a little research prior, so I knew what I wanted going in. They didn't try and upsell me or anything, just gave me info on what I was purchasing. Very fast and friendly. Picked up my Beretta APX Centurion three days later and was helped by a gentleman name Brian. Again, quick and friendly service. Even hooked me up with a paper target and some time on range for no charge to put my new weapon through it's paces. I was hesitant to go here after reading some of the other reviews, but I am glad I gave them a shot. I will be back!

Probably my favorite place to shop, the only place I can ever seem to find ammo in stock consistently. I always enjoy taking a browse around the store and the guys are always happy to pull a firearm off the shelf to inspect and get a feel for. I tend to get some of the younger guys later in the afternoon and they seem to enjoy talking shop and offering insight on firearms you may be unfamiliar with, I’ve been curious and looking into Armalite rifles and when inspecting one at the store I was unfamiliar with the slide locking mechanisms and I just hate to hand some one a racked weapon, but figured “ah I’ll figure it out another time, I won’t bother these boys anymore” I wish I grabbed the lad’s name but he recognized what I was trying to do and happily gave me full run down on how the fire arm operated. Absolutely thrilled to have had such a positive interaction, made me so much more comfortable handling an unfamiliar fire arm. Occasionally I’ll get this kinda gruff and brass tax kinda guy, he ain’t rude or anything. Just not the most sociable of people.

Have been to this place many times in the past. Usually felt like I was invisible and when I needed help was treated like an annoyance. Today was so different. The staff was friendly and helpful and made the visit very comfortable. Past reviews by people had said similar things. It's nice to see that a business can change this much. Was there last week and had a great visit then too. So thanks to the staff at this business for making this place a nice place to visit. I definitely will be back.

I was a little hesitant to try it after reading some mixed reviews but my experience was excellent and I found the facility to be very acceptable and the staff to be courteous and professional at all times. I did notice that many of the negative reviews come from people with only 1 or 2 total reviews EVER so I tend to take those opinions with a grain of salt while most of the positive reviews are from people with quite a few local reviews overall. If you listen to the staff and follow the safety rules which are common at gun ranges across America, you will have a great experience. The shop also has an extensive selection of firearms, cleaning supplies, and accessories so it's fun to walk around a little as well. I can recommend without reservation.

I have purchased 3 firearms here. Each time was more enjoyable than the last. The staff always is there to answer questions and make suggestions. The range is always fun, fair pricing and good service. Will definitely return and I'd recommend shoot straight to anyone wanting to either purchase firearms or use what they have at the range.

My online order of an AR went smoothly. To someone not paying attention during the online ordering process, I could see it could be confusing. But over all, no big deal. They called me when it arrived, I did the paperwork and background check, and I was out the door. No dumb 5 day waiting period or embellished company policy (I'm talking to you Bass Pro). Shoot Straight just goes by what the law says. I gave 4 stars only because a $600 rifle cost $850 due to the election. The price hike was on par with everyone else up charging. Otherwise no complaints. Way it goes.

All the folks at shoot straight are great, but I have to comment on Dakota in particular. Dakota always if friendly and obviously knows how to work in a professional and knowledgeable manner with customers. Most importantly for me, as a new gun owner I never feel awkward or intimated asking him questions about my purchases. But again, all the staff are GREAT.

Very friendly staff! The gunsmith on sight is a great resource and very knowledgeable. They are more than willing to order supplies they dont have in store. Their target rounds are competitively priced and their range fees are reasonable. They also allow large caliber long guns which is a nice plus. If you're looking for a clean, well lit, and well staffed shop you've found it.

This place is just ok. The staff is quite a bit lacking in customer service. Everyone seems to have a huge chip on their shoulder. If you want to purchase anything there do your own research as they do not want to give you any information on their products. However, they do enjoy taking all your money. All in all it's a below average gun range. Not the top of the line and it's not the bottom either although it is full of Rude service.

This shooting range is very nice. Has great AC in shooting range and good staff. A wide selection of guns and many accessories. But seriously, the best part is the AC in the range. The only down side is you need to be a member to rent guns. I find this is a bit of a money loss for them as it's a $40 charge to sign up and $10 each time you rent after. I don't go enough for that charge. I would gladly pay $20 just to rent for an hour. Great place either way.

I went to Shoot Straight to purchase my first firearm in November. Gary was the gentleman who approached my husband and I and I’m sure he had no idea what he was getting into when he met us! I had so many questions, he spent so much time with me, answering all of my questions, never once getting annoyed that I was taking up over two hours of his time. I left that day with a lot more knowledge than I walked in with and the proud new owner of a Glock 19. The day I came to pick it up I went out to the range and the range master helped me again with questions and firing my new firearm. Afterwards Gary assisted me and even remembered me, he helped sign me up for an introduction to handguns course. (Very great class and a great instructor, in case anyone is looking!!) A little over a month later I came back and had my class, again, being remembered by the guys in the store and being helped with such knowledge. I cannot say enough at how happy I am with this place and my purchase. I wish I lived closer so I was able to use the range rather than having to go to the one closer to my house. When I decide to purchase more firearms, I will be coming back here. Regardless of who here sells me a new gun, I have complete confidence that they will give me accurate and informed information! Thank you for making my first gun purchase a pleasant one.

I’ve never personally purchased anything there but just hung up the phone w a gentleman named Mark. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions about a Springfield 9MM. It was out of stock, but he was still cool enough to make some quality recommendations based on what my needs are. I’ve called quite a few other shops locally in Pinellas and they weren’t anywhere near as helpful. I stopped by Mad Dog armory in Largo and couldn’t get out of there fast enough. MD was rude, crass and unhelpful. I went to Shoot Straight last month and the two reps I dealt with were also professional and helpful. Seems like they hire quality folks. I've made several purchases from Shoot straight. Prices are competitive and stock is fair. The sales staff is knowledgeable and helpful no strong arm sales people here, that's a plus for me though I usually know what I'm shopping for.

This place is clean and friendly. Total new to guns. Was like a deer in head lights when I went in. But I did a lot of research on what I wanted and knew what to look for. Along with prices too. They do price match. Yes I found the same guns a few bucks cheaper online. But once fee's are included it breaks even. Was asked if I needed help by plenty of workers. Bought 2 handguns. Range is clean. I go when they open so the range isn't full of smoke and people. Never been in afternoons or evenings. I enjoy the place.

Always a great experience. Safely operated range with competent range officers. I always feel comfortable training here. On the shop side of things, they treat return customers very well, and remember your face and firearms you have purchased. It's hard for me to want to buy new firearms somewhere else when I know that with every purchase I'll help be putting food on the table for these great men and women's families. They hire people that know their stuff and also hire veterans. Proud to call this my go-to range, even if I can't make it as often as I used to.

Today my husband and I went to shoot straight for the very first time, not knowing exactly what to expect as we are rather new to the shooting world. It was a fantastic experience from the moment we opened the door. We were immediately greeted by David the manager who introduced himself and welcomed us to the store. From there we were helped by several different employees for various different things ranging from getting a membership to renting a gun and shooting in the range to finally buying a gun. EVERY employee we dealt with was an absolute pleasure to work with. Special kudos to Erica H. as she was so very patient and so much fun to work with while purchasing my new 38 special. This was by far one of the most polite well informed and well trained group of employees I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We will be definitely back and will recommend Shoot Straight to everyone we know.

I went around to a few shops before deciding to purchase from Shoot Straight. I have been there a few times shooting and the experience each time has been Great. I read a lot of negative reviews about the staff, and i can tell you that each time i have gone the staff has been wonderful! The sales gentlemen that assisted with my purchase was knowledgeable and gave great information through different models i looked at and even showed me a few guns i had not even thought of even looking at, and im glad he did. I am happy with my purchase and look forward with doing business with them again soon. For people griping about costs... You can shop around, best part about a free country. I did decide to purchase my gun here, however my night-sight that i wanted which was $110 there was found online for $90. But again i went to Bill Jacksons and the same sight was $140! Of course prices are higher in a store, that's the price of instant satisfaction as well as the cost of the employees. I will say that i was offered a discount on the sight with the purchase of the gun. So had i been a person who does not shop online it still would have been a very honest and valued deal. Thank You Shoot Straight! And Thank You to the Great Employees that make each trip a great experience.

The Clearwater location/store is nice, obviously someone takes pride in it. It is well-lit, roomy, and has a great inventory. Some of the staff is very good, in particular a young lady at the range counter who is eager and very helpful. The inventory is excellent but overpriced so be sure to ask about a discount, they are good about that. If you go there and get lucky, you can end up with some of the better staff who are genuinely enthusiasts and are happy to answer questions.

They ask at least a few times throughout my stay if I need help with anything, but usually not in the actual range unless you look lost which is nice. I like to go and shoot not get lessons. Awesome range, Comfortable and climate controlled. Never usually have to wait for a lane. Excellent selection of firearms at good prices. Only negative is their ammo is overpriced, but most range ammo is. The ROs are excellent and professional, can't fathom why others have left negative reviews for being yelled at. Range safety is paramount, offending someone is low priority over safety. They never really watch the clock on you unless they're backed up at which point you're reminded when your times up.

Went in on 4/25/2020. They do an excellent job there. With all that's going on with covid-19 and social distancing the staff is under a lot of pressure from customers. Thay have to adapt on a daily basis to the needs of customers and the business. I personally watched staff take abuse from angry customers that was completely unjustified for just doing their jobs. The staff took it in stride and still gave great customer service. Thanks so much for staying positive and keeping your chins up!!! I'll definitely keep coming back!!

I have been to this Shoot Straight several times in the last month , looking at different semi-auto conceal carry guns and at a couple of rifles , everyone I have talked to , has taken the time to answer all of the questions I've had , and has been super nice , and professional. Also went in to look at holsters the other day and I like how helpful the salesperson was in showing me the difference between the styles and types of holsters and which one would work for me the best. Great experience at this store.

I have purchased guns here and also use the range. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly enough. They have a great selection and variety and something to fit every price range. The range is also nice and reasonably priced, particularly when ladies shoot free.

Their prices seem to be fair. The gun range is good for pistols and carbine, but the range is indoor and not very long. The staff here are generally fairly knowledgable. It's my opinion that some of them are quite rude. That being said, I am also aware of one individual accidentally discharging a weapon inside the store.

After reading the negative reviews I was a little concerned about going to Shoot Straight. I must say the service and pricing were excellent. I have no complaints, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Pricing was $139 less than other local shop. The staff at the other shop was okay but not quite on the same high level as Shoot Straight and the savings at Shoot Straight was 18%.

This place is pretty decent. They have a great selection and very reasonable prices. They even price matched a few rifles for me off gunbroker. My only complaint is that their range is usually pretty hot inside and they do not allow reloads. I shoot competitively and I reload my own rounds, I'm confident that my rounds are safe. To counter this I just save a few empty boxes and put my reloads in factory containers.

I went here to break in a new rifle.The rifle jammed and their staff spent 20-30 minutes working on the gun to fix the problem. They were successful and refused to accept any payment for their time. The staff was very polite and definitely went above and beyond. I will most surely be spending more time and money in this store because of them.

Some of the younger guys think they know more about firearms then they do; I had to show one how to put the barrel back on a Mossberg 500. Despite my online findings I decided to stop in when I made the decision to buy a new weapon. I was greeted the second I walked through the door by Gary R. He was all smiles and was able to answer the questions I had being a novice in the AR field. He went above and beyond to make sure the weapon he selected for me would fit all my needs and I can say after a few hundred rounds he delivered! So far I have been inside the place 3 times, I haven't experienced the so called "negative attitudes" that people are saying they have experienced. Despite the fact that I don't care for their motif of hundreds of animal heads/stuffed animals, I completely understand it because the industry must cater to hunters as they most likely are a big part of their clientele. So from a business decision I probably would begrudgingly do the same thing, but mainly because I am not a hunter. If I could point back to fond memories of hunting with my father I'd probably feel that it was normal. On to my purchase, I purchased a gun and no their price on the weapon I purchased wasn't the best price but I felt the counter person had a great deal of knowledge on the weapon I selected and advised me on the pro's and con's of why it would be a good choice, which you cannot get from looking at a gun online. I also signed up for their concealed carry class and when I have had their class I will be able to report more on my interactions with staff members. Overall it seems to be a 1st rate gun shop/range. If further experiences dictate that I change my opinion I will update this review.

I was wary of going to this range but after deciding that the Wyoming Antelope Club was not that great. I headed to Shoot Straight. I had a great experience. The gentlemen gave me my military discount even though I left my ID at home. He knew the AF job codes. Which was impressive. The 100 round box of 9mm was competitively priced. One of the bays in the range had an AC problem but i was forewarned instead of just letting me figure it out. The other two bays had enough booths so it was not a big deal and had AC. The variety of fire arms allowed to fire here is good I have found it hard to find an indoor range that allows Rifles and Shotguns. So needless to say I will be coming back as well as possibly getting a membership.

The range is too dim, and it's difficult to enjoy shooting when you have the staff hovering over you every three seconds. There are some good people there, and some which have NO business whatsoever in a firearm store. They seem to believe they are the only game in town. Wrong: The Antelope Club is a nicer, rifle friendly range out to 100 yards. In addition, I think they are a bit high priced. There are better options in the area.

The range is old. Water was dripping unto the floors. It was so warm and humid my targets started to curl. The lane I was in had a bent track so my target was crooked. It's not even worth free to shoot on Monday's for me with a 45 min drive.

Used to be my favorite spot to bring friends to show off my firearms but couple months ago when I brought 4 friends in to shoot and was denied because the range closed in 45 mins.... I bring in customers and buying their ammos supporting them but got rejected cause the guy wanted to go home early or something and told me 45 mins is not enough time to unload my firearms to shoot. I used to go here 3-4 times a week but no more now since because of that.

Been shopping around and looking at the Sig MPX pistol. I found Shoot Straight to one again have excellent service...Ronny was my sales guy...but also the best prices around. I went to my local store Shooter World and prices were way high on the MPX. A short drive across the bridge to Shoot Straight as usual got me a much much better price. Ronny (Army Ronny) was excellent to deal with, courteous and professional. Only suggestion is please stick the accessories for the firearms you sell. I went to Shoot Straight to have a front sight replaced on a Kahr PM9. The gunsmith completed the job the same day despite having a backlog of other jobs. The staff was very helpful and eager to provide insights in comparing some .22 rifles. So much so that when I picked up my Kahr I also purchased a Ruger 10/22 TD. Contrary to some reviews; all my experiences at this location have been great. Even my wife who is not a "gun person" at all wanted to shoot a full auto SMG after chatting with Dalton B. during checkout.
