I spent several days with the team at Adventure Outfitters and had an amazing experience. Adventure Outfitters is truly a family affair which makes the experience that much better. The team is professional, knowledgeable and makes learning and diving comfortable regardless of your skill level. I completed my Rescue Diver certification as well as several additional certifications with Alex, one of the owners. My buddy, a first time diver, completed his Open Water certification with Jenny, the second owner and Alex’s wife. We dove at three different sites during my time with them. The coca-cola colored waters of Hudson Grotto, the murky waters of Lake Denton and the amazing crystal clear site that is Buford Springs. All of the sites were fun and unique in their own way and served as great dive locations and training sites. Buford Springs in particular truly felt world class. Depths of up to 160ft and a huge cavernous expanse made this dive site feel like it was something straight out of Discovery channel episode. I would highly recommend hanging out with the crew at Adventure Outfitters whether you are new to diving, experienced and looking to advance your skill set or just coming into Tampa for a fun weekend. Thanks, Alex and Jenny and we look forward to coming back in April to spend some more time with you!

Adventure outfitters facilitated my Boy Scout troops high adventure trip to Florida from Wisconsin. We rented tanks and weights for 4 days for 7 divers along with a couple dives in the gulf aboard their dive boat. The staff were extremely helpful and worked patiently with our schedule as we arrived the morning after a tropical storm the night before so they pushed back our boat dive to make sure we would have the best possible dives. a couple of the scouts and one of the adults also needed new masks and the staff were again very helpful with them fitting and purchasing new equipment the day of one of our inland dives. I highly recommend them as a destination dive center

I recently got PADI certified after a 20+ year hiatus. I am so glad I went with Adventure outfitters. Jenny was extremely helpful, organized, and always got back to my lengthy emails with a million questions. Anna was my instructor and was incredibly patient, knowledgeable and professional. I did my 3rd and 4th dive with Kevin who is not only a pro but made the experience so much fun. We had a great day on the water and I will definitely be diving with them again. HIGHLY recommend.

We are a family of divers now, thanks to the incredible service and overall product provided by Adventure Outfitters. My wife and I and two of our sons (14 and 10 years old) went through the entire process of PADI Open Water Diver certification 100% with Adventure Outfitters. We cannot say enough about the way they made this fit for our family. Their dedication, their hospitality, their patience, and a whole list of other outstanding characteristics truly make this organization special. Anna was amazing and professional! Jenny, Alex and Kevin were kind and courteous. Captain Gale was friendly and thorough! We did our pool dives, Devils Den for some fresh water, and St. Pete’s Reef for some salt water!! If you are looking for a place that provides a world class experience….look no further.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Book lessons to finish open water certification. Jenny had answers to questions I didnt even think to ask. Our instructors, Greg and Vince were very good and very friendly. Our boat dive was great. Captain Gale was awesome. All three even helped out those the felt a little seasick and made accommodations for them. I will be using them again the next trip to FL.

Alex and Gale took us out for a fantastic day of spear fishing in the gulf. Gale is a GREAT captain and Alex is a fantastic dive leader and spear fishing teacher. Absolutely phenomenal family owned business, with capable and knowledgeable dive masters and an awesome, friendly staff. They are very upfront about costs and their prices are extremely reasonable. The dive shop often feels more like a family than just a place of business. They have several events, to include clean up dives and lionfish roundups. They also have a wide variety of classes for what feels like the full range of age and skill levels.

I got my open water certification from Adventure Outfitters back in October. Kevin and Alex helped me to select all of my gear and Jenny is always open to helping me find additional gear, accessories, and apparel as well as dive trips and charters. The open water class was thorough and Anna and Robert were great instructors for my certification dives. I also did my first charter dive this weekend with Kevin and Steve. Adventure Outfitters is amazing all the way around. I first came to Adventure Outfitters in September 2021 to receive my Open Water PADI certification. The instructors took their time to ensure myself and other students were confident in our skills - each group of instructors at the different dive sites were prepared to accommodate the various ages and skill sets of all divers. Last week, I visited Adventure Outfitters again to purchase my own scuba gear and start working on my Advanced Open Water certification. Jenny helped me to select gear that would accommodate my personal scuba goals and enhance my AOW certification. During the coursework and dives, Anna was patient to ensure I was comfortable being back in the water and understood all of my gear. On Sunday 02/06, I was thrilled to be part of the inaugural AO boat charter in the Gulf. I was impressed with the boat captain, Steve and his knowledge of the area and attention to safety for all of the divers. Alex Blevins from Adventure Outfitters is an excellent dive master and worked diligently to provide a fun and safe experience for divers of all skill levels at the Betty Rose and Bayway Reef dive sites. Overall, I couldn't have asked for better experiences from Adventure Outfitters and look forward to traveling down from Northwest Atlanta to dive with them again (really) soon.

Adventure Outfitters is an awesome dive shop. Very friendly atmosphere that seems family oriented. New divers don’t feel intimidated or overwhelmed. Jenny and Kevin have been a huge help since I’ve gotten into scuba diving. Kevin was an outstanding instructor for my SDI Open Water scuba class. He took the time to explain all the necessary material and gave helpful hints along the way. Jenny took the time to help me select equipment. She ensured the gear fit my needs and fit my body. She didn’t try to sell me unnecessary equipment to make a quick buck. Definitely recommend this place for all scuba gear and training needs!

I had so much fun talking with everyone and they were able to help me with everything I needed. Repairs on 2 different brand BCDs, O2 cleaning for my tanks, nitrox fills and shopping for a new BCD. I flew to Tampa, Florida to get certified in spearfishing. I had a great time. I fired my speargun only 4 times and each time I shot a fish. The instructor was perfect. Excellent dive shop.

On Sunday 2/6/22 I had the pleasure of taking the Adventure Outfitters inaugural dive boat charter on their new catamaran twin outdrive boat. Let me just say, there is no better dive boat instruction IN THE WORLD than the folks at Adventure Outfitters. Now that they’re chartering their own boat for dives, 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 The boat Captain Steve Vanderplas was amazing. He’s an experienced Coast Guard veteran that brings those skills to the boat for the dives. He successfully navigated us to multiple wrecks where I obtained my PADI wreck dive certification. Alex Blevins, my instructor, is one of the best in the WORLD. He’s extremely experienced and knowledgeable as an instructor, caters to your individual level of experience, and safely but meticulously guides you through the instruction for the certification level you’re looking for. His wife Jenny is also amazing. She scheduled and re-scheduled our trip (due to weather). She also taught my emergency first responder class for further certification as a rescue diver. Phenomenal instructor! Finally Anna Blevins is also amazing. She ran me through the PADI search and recovery, rescue diver, and O2 provider courses. You cannot get a better team of instructors than Adventure Outfitters. You MUST call them if you want dive training or to dive anywhere in the Tampa area!

Outstanding Dive Shop! I'm really glad I found this place. I was looking for a dive shop for Advanced Nitrox, Deco Procedures and Helitrox. I found that most shops won't run these unless they have a certain number of students asking (and I get that), I was being told it would be a few months at least. After searching google I headed over to Adventure Outfitters and was signed up within 2 days. Alex was willing to teach the classes even if I was the only student (I ended up getting a buddy to sign up with me). The class was amazing. Alex is an awesome instructor and went beyond the standard curriculum to further challenge us and also teach us skills related to how we planned to use the training (spearfishing). I'd recommend this shop to anyone.

Great dive shop and great team! The instructors are top notch all around! I couldn’t think of a better shop to go through for open water cert. The staff is extremely experienced and takes all the time needed to explain everything. Very friendly atmosphere almost like walking in and immediately being “welcomed in the family”. Great selection, veteran owned and operated. Most staff are Technical dive instructors, so they are a lot more experienced and knowledgeable then your traditional SCUBA instructors. Would highly recommend for all level of divers from just getting started to diving for decades. They also service all equipment in house.

Brand new to Florida, and, in relation to Floridians, even with 15+ years of diving, still on newer side to diving. Had never owned my own gear before today. Alex was amazing. He listened and asked questions in order to build my gear. I ended up spending a few hours in the shop, mostly just listening to him and the other customers that came in….to learn and soak up as much info as possible. Adventure Outfitters is customer service oriented with a large variety of dive gear in stock. They know the gear and will take time to help you pick out the gear you need. No pushy salesman nor do they try to sell you what you don’t need. Prices were competitive...even compared to online. They offer a number of courses, several of which I have personally taken. The instruction was fantastic and I felt comfortable! This is the shop you want to use in Tampa.

Great dive shop! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dive shop is fully stocked with very competitive prices. I am not local. Set up my dive trip with a couple of phone calls and emails. They are very quick to respond to all of my questions. Instruction was spot on. Took two cert classes in a week. Couldn't have had a better experience. When I came to South Tampa, There were multiple dive shops within the area that I could choose from. After going into each and every one of them, adventure outfitters had the best vibe. I decided to continue my diver education with adventure outfitters and throughout the years, I have had great experiences with every single one of adventure outfitters staff and instructors. Love this family and their shop! Called Anna a few days before Christmas about needing open water certification FAST before a spur of the moment trip to Belize. Knowing we want to dive while there and me needing to get started, she got me set up with the eLearning component immediately and the pool and OW dives three concurrent days (finished yesterday!). In the mean time, we stopped in the shop a few different days and she and Alex talked through different gear with my husband and I, helping us pick out our first set of gear and what we would want specifically for our trip. Great dive shop there open till 7:00PM a plus for working folks. They carry a wide range of dive equipment and teach a lot of advanced courses that are hard to find elsewhere. They are all certified cave divers and love to dive. I took a Tec 40 class with them had a great time. I have participated in their 3 springs dive trip, it was great. Their dive master gave us a great time. The shop is family owned and ran. The staff goes above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone looking to learn scuba diving or continuing their scuba training. I am planning on doing my cavern training with them soon.

Being SCUBA Open Water has been a lifelong dream, but due to life and other distractions I was not able to start this until I was 52 years old. One big challenge I have is now have panic attacks, that are so overwhelming. I tried with another dive shop, but I was not able to get over my fears to do the final two dives. I enrolled my 8 year-old in their summer PADI SEAL Team class and he had a blast. It was a great introduction to SCUBA for him. They had some awesome activities lined up, took great care of the kids, and helped address my sister's anxiety about her son's safety. They also shared some really priceless photos and videos with all of us once it was over. Amazing dive shop! I have been diving for almost 10 years so I have been to almost every dive shop in the tampa bay area (Jim's dive shop, bill Jackson, AO dive shop, tackle shack, sunshine, depth perception, and many more) I have yet to find any dive shop that had the selection they have along with the best prices, and customer service. About 2 years ago I started the long journey into tech and cave diving and they have been by my side every since. They have gear in store for tech, cave divers that no shop around here has, along with a large selection of gear for recreational diving. As I progressed into more into tech diving it started to become a very serious matter that all my gear be working and serviced properly. I Became very curious about the servicing of my gear and signed up for a equipment class. I have spent alot of time on my days off watching Alex service gear because it is a true art. I'll be honest before I Attended the class I thought servicing gear was nothing, that it would take 30 minutes a stage, put some new magical part in and bam it was done! Lol but I was definitely worng. There are alot of parts that make up a regulator and 1st stage. It can take several hours a stage to take apart, clean, assemble back together with new parts, and test. I can honestly say they will take care of you and treat you like family and will go above and beyond more then any shop for you.

Even though I live across the bay and have to pass four or five other dive shops to get there, Adventure Outfitters is my favorite dive center. 1. They do not succumb to the common occupational hazard among dive instructors of talking up the extreme aspects of diving and generally taking an uber-macho approach to the sport. Instead, AO instructors make diving accessible to everyone with their practical, sensible, and prudent teaching style. 2. They do not skip over any of the textbook sections when teaching classes. Some dive centers rush through the classroom portion and just teach what's on the test. AO instructors go over every section and ensure learning has happened before moving on. 3. They conduct their dives--both outings and classes--with thorough preparation and briefings. No matter how routine the dive, they bring all their emergency and backup equipment, they discuss contingencies, they take the time for equipment, buoyancy, and bubble checks. They simply do not cut corners. 4. They are great people. The owners are a wonderful family, and they have cool dogs.

Adventure Outfitters is one of the very, VERY few diveshops that I've come across that offer a wide variety of dive gear, KNOWLEDGEABLE and COURTEOUS staff, AND competitive prices! They have professional, upbeat, and down-to-earth instructors and I've heard very good things about their Divemaster program! Not many diveshops offer such a broad selection of dive certifying agencies (PADI, IANTD, TDI, SDI, etc) from skindiving to recreational to technical to trimix to cavern to cave, and everything in between. They do a phenomenal job servicing gear from all walks of life (Dacor (ha) to ScubaPro to DiveRite to Hollis to Zeagle, and even Oceanic and Cressi), and not many diveshops are competent in doing so. Adventure Outfitters is also very active and involved in the Tampa Bay community - one of my favorite events is the clean-up dives (free air tank rentals!), and, of course, their spearfishing charters. As a dive enthusiast who has been diving since ~2006, has 200+ dives in the US, Caribbean, and South America, and is DAN dive professionalyou aren't going to find a better diveshop!! I pretty much exclusively fly to Tampa, FL for all my scuba diving needs.
