I have been to several gun shops in St Pete but this is the only shop I’ve bought from. The other shops had grumpy dudes that seemed insulted by my questions. The 3 times I’ve been to A-1, there were 2 women behind the counter and both were very friendly and open to answering my questions. If you are a woman looking for a friendly shop where you can ask questions, I highly recommend A-1. Their prices are competitive as well. All around a great shop and worth the extra drive to get there.

Only place that actually picked up the phone and didn't seemed annoyed about the questions i had about firearm transfer. I've had two now transferred here from PSA without any issues. I'll be using them again in the future

This past month I went to A1 to purchase a handgun for home defense. It has been almost 50 years since I handled firearms so I was a bit nervous. When I walked in I met Renee who to sum her up in one word is AWESOME!!! She helped me so much and after many many questions we settled on a S&W M&P 9MM. Renee went over everything and even sold me a speed loader which made loading the magazine so easy. Renee told me I would love the gun and she was SO RIGHT!! I went to the range and had a great time. I plan on going back to buy some ammo and additional magazines because A1 has the BEST PRICES around. I also met Michelle who was super too. If you are unsure and need help please don’t hesitate go see Renee or Michelle and you won’t be sorry 👍👍👍👍

Wayne is a very knowledgeable owner. I just took his handgun safety class to get my permit. Very good instructor. He makes people new to guns comfortable and covers all the important topics very thoroughly. And you can not beat the cost of his class anywhere!!!

Mr and Mrs. Parker conducted the CWP class according and professionally. Mr. Parker was thorough on the does and don't on weapon safety. Mr. Parker exercised patient's and fairness amongst the entire class, even with the challenge of a language barrier present. He made it clear that no question was too silly or was left unattended. I highly recommend their course.

Great shop with very nice, very knowledgeable people. It's a nice departure from the highly commercialized direction gun shops have recently taken. Whereas in the fancier places, you'll have some 26 year old kid try and BS you if he doesn't know what you're talking about, these folks will flat out tell you and help you find the answer. I had a transfer sent there and could not have been more happy with the level of service I received. I have already decided on another firearm and I'll be buying it from A-1. I like supporting the excellent independent businesses I come across. As a side note, they're also a lock, key, and safe shop. A few years ago, I lost my key to my motorcycle and they got me up and running with the same friendly service. Good people.

I purchased a Yankee Hill silencer from Silencer Shop out in Texas and I had them send it to A-1 Tactical. I went there the first time today and their customer service was excellent! I was helped by Michele. She was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about filling out all the forms, old and new. She basically did all of the work and charged me NOTHING! I few years ago I purchased a silencer for my AR-15 and had it sent to a store in Clearwater, Fl.. They did the paperwork but charged me $50. If you're interested in new or used weapons, I highly recommend you check this place out!
