pretty awesome store for outdoor goods. wide selection of items. clothing, coolers, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, boots and shoes. prices are good when things are on sale. i dont really understand the membership program that must be renewed each year unless you spend lots of $$ here. this place is different than an REI and other outdoor stores. often times the store is shopped out of the normal sizes so its hit and miss also you may have to pick through things to find what you looking for because the organization of the products is wonky. but overall its a very cool spot in SODO. Like coming here once a month to see what they have.

GOOD PLACE!!! Came for some camping stuff cooler, grill, knife and big water jug and water cooler and it was all good stuff for a good price under 110 for it all and we got a few other things so all in all good place the staff were helpful without being overly loss prevention watching me it was good!!

AWESOME. It is a mini Costco store for outdoor gears varying from hunting, fishing, camping, etc. I came in to get some razor clam guns that are perfect for my need. I love how they organize things for each section, which helps customers quickly find what they need. Please feel free to ask the friendly staff since they are more willing to Help you than you think. Now, I have a friendly and convenient place to get my fishing gears. I would love to be back in the future

If you need stuff for fishing hunting or camping this is probably a good place to go for good equipment at a decent price. The firearms and fishing sections in particular seem to be well-stocked and the store itself is fairly large, it's a warehouse type environment. They also had a pretty good shoe/boot/apparel section,lot's of gear and parts for whatever. It's in downtown Seattle in the SoDo area but there is still pretty good parking there on the side of the building.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Hobie Kayak from Outdoor Emporium. It's great to having a one-stop-shop for all of my fishing, tackle and kayak fishing needs in the Seattle area. If you haven't tried out a Hobie pedal powered kayak, you're missing out!

Very good place. I've spent a lot of time and money at this place and it's sister company, Sportco in Fife. Better prices than the two big box chain stores. Mid to upper midlevel packs, hiking, and camping supplies as well as the cheaper stuff. Fishing or hunting? Great selection. Hiking and camping... might not be the best for gearing up for a weeklong trip, but if you need a good day pack to a 60ish liter overnight or weekend pack this is a good place. Also the typical selection of filters and stoves. Good clothing selection, also a Filson dealer.

One of the best local shops for anything to do with fishing. You can get fishing license. They have good sales on outdoor clothing. Everything you could need for camping in the PNW or anywhere. Friendly staff.

Outdoor Emporium In Seattle is my go to sporting goods store. They have everything from an amazing Hobie Kayak section to camping, hiking, hunting and everything in between! They have a Knowledgeable staff and fantastic prices. Their fishing and Kayak fishing Departments are simply the best around! Stop down and see for yourself!

The best fishing and outdoor store in the Seattle area. Been going here for years for clothes and fishing and camping gear. Lots of stuff here for your outdoor needs. They have a great kayak fishing section and sell Hobie kayaks which I bought here in 2018. Hobbie Pro staff helped me decide and demo a kayak and it has been the best purchase I've ever made. Changed my life! Great place to go for kayak upgrades and tackle to outfit your boat. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. A lot of their stuff is cheaper than you would find online or in the big franchise stores. Highly recommend!

Great selection of firearms and ammo, friendly and knowledgeable staff to go along with it. Also a great spot for camping stoves, backpacking gear, food stuffs and plenty of other great goodies to browse. The membership is worth it if you are into outdoor activities, decent perks and member pricing on all kinds of gear. Been going here for years and I always find more than I can afford :)

No-frills and low prices, this is the best spot in town for sporting goods. Lots of quality brands each with their own. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Don't waste your time at Big 5 or driving to Cabela's, all you need is here.

This is an outdoorsman's paradise (aka hell on your wallet)! It has everything from hiking, camping to fishing and hunting. I received especially great service from Kevin in the kayaks department. He explained the ins and outs of the different Hobie models and never pushed any of them on me. It was great to be talked to like a person and not just walking money. There's a great selection of the Hobie kayaks and they even do service on your kayaks if you need it! I enjoy going into Outdoor Emporium just to look around and learn something new from time to time.

I have been shopping here for 20 years. For fishing and camping, they have almost always had what I needed, and some good advice too. Often the staff encourages me to buy the less fancy, less expensive, fishing rod or camping item and I am glad I went with their advice. Plus, they usually have what I need.

Great place with great employees ! Always helpful and full of knowledge. While we were there they caught a shoplifter. They handled it very professionally. There was about 15 people in line and the owner let this looser know that he was banned for life from any of his stores. They did call 911 but decided to let him go with a warning. When people like him steal from the store ..he steals from all of us...its our store to...

Absolutely floored by the service I received here! Above and beyond does not do it justice! A piece of my drive broke on my Hobie a few days before a big trip. It was covered by my warranty but the replacement part would not arrive in time. Kevin in the kayak department loaned me the piece I needed to get me back on the water weeks ahead of the replacement arrival, from his own personal backup drive. I would have missed out on 3 trips if it hadn't been for him! God bless you sir! Anyone wanting amazing service to go along with amazing selection should look no further than outdoor emporium, and Kevin in particular. I can't say enough to express my gratitude, but above and beyond is a lost art. Except here.

Have been coming here with my dad the past couple of years - and the staff are the friendliest, upbeat, and encouraging people! SJ at the fishing counter was kind enough to get us set up with trout fishing basics - and walked through common knowledge for this local area (which means so much because my dad doesn't speak a lot of english and they tried to be accommodating!) I also appreciate how he didn't try to over sell us. Jake who helped us with renewing fishing licenses at the front was a pro and hilarious!

It was a little bit crowded but overall not too bad. It was a brief stop to grab some stuff for one of my city dwelling friends so I could take them fishing for the first time. Needless to say, it had the essentials that one would need for the average avid sportsman. The gun selection was rather modest, but that doesn't surprise me being that it was in downtown Seattle. But they had a little bit of everything, which came in handy.

Love outdoor emporium. Definitely recommend getting the membership. It's well worth the yearly cost. They have a great selection of guns, typically, but the covet thing has them behind the eight ball like everybody else. Pretty good selection of hunting gear, I love to look at the flyer because they typically have something on there that's a really good deal. Good selection for ammo, safes, fishing, tackle and a bunch of other fun outdoor stuff.

Locally managed outdoor store. Its great. Basically a combo of REI and Cabelas, with a PNW spin. Can get hunting and fishing licenses here. Great selection of boots and fishing gear. REI is usually a madhouse, so I go here often for my gear.

Store is good, but the employees are better. Sam Sok was showing me salmon rigs for the local rivers. I asked what rivers are biting right now and he told me about spots I’ve never heard of AND let me fish with him on the Green River. He put eggs on my rig up and BOOM!, first cast, bright, heavy, shinny Coho! Lures on the shelf don’t catch fish unless experience is there to show you what to buy and where to go and that the only reason I shop there.

The place is way bigger than I thought! They recently arranged a Kayak section, along with the fishing gear. I haven't seen much Kayak fishing here in Washington, and I am excited to see it roll out! Good place to get outdoor gear at near wholesale prices. Large selection of supplies for fishing, camping, hunting, kayaking, hiking, you name it. There is not a lot of help on the floor and they are a little slow. I think this is balanced out by being able to go through their stock, sort through everything yourself and find the exact item you need. Wide range of sizes for clothing and different brands, types of equipment.

Gift card had errorously used full value by monthly surcharges but they happily made it right, refunding back the full 50 dollars of original gift card. Nice selection. I was able to get a nice airsoft, co2 and copper pellets all for 50. Although I was looked at and followed by clerks thinking I was stealing something... Just happy they fixed the gift card I thought I lost out on.

A large store with all you could need for the great outdoors. Fishing, camping, boating and mountaineering gear. They also carry shoes and apparel. It’s out of the busy city area just enough that a parking lot is available and RV parking on the street is easy. Emporium of course means premium pricing but everything in one place makes it super convenient.

Bought a gun online and it shipped to Outdoor Emporium for the paper work and pick up. Had a few guys help me out but Malcolm stood out. Friendly guy with a keen interest in hunting. Ended up getting a mossberg 500 as well when i went to pick up my first gun and Malcolm was helpful adding the gun to the same background check that i had just got done and explained more to me about the different kinds of ammo and the gun itself. Very happy with my first 2 guns and the experience shopping!

Rarely do I experience this. As if they are truly interested in helping you find exactly what you are looking for instead of just doing their job because they have to. And the same goes for the vast amount of knowledge each employee possesses about a various amounts of products throughout the store. I'm hooked, they're going to get all of what little money I have.

Nice store with a huge selection. Good layout, easy to navigate. Great parking considering that it is in the heart of downtown Seattle. I did notice that the staff was not particularly friendly or helpful in the clothing and shoe area. Several of them passed me without saying hello or asking if I needed any help (which I could have used while looking at shoes). It was the opposite in the hunting/firearms section. The guys were very friendly and anxious to help or answer any questions.

This place is like REI for people that hunt, fish, camp and don't need their friends to be impressed with the band names. I go there for fishing gear and for the most part they have all the big ticket items. They do have a hard time keeping the hot salmon tackle in stock in the prime of the season that's why I give them 3 stars.

Haven't fished since I was a kid, about two decades ago with my father and other family. With a lot more relaxed schedule this summer, as you can imagine why, I decided to get back out there. Walked into Outdoor Emporium Seattle and met Sam after he noticed the puzzled look I had I'm sure. I told him what I wrote here and mentioned I was going for salmon. Instantly knowledge started pooring and I was drinking from a water hose. He set me up with gear, places to fish, and multiple techniques to try. Sure enough, I landed three beautiful Coho's on his recommendations. Couldn't be happier with the knowledge he shared and great customer service that I was given. Thanks Sam. Fish on!

Outdoor Emporium is an outdoor retailer that carries almost everything for those who enjoy outdoor activities of the Pacific Northwest. They stock and sell gear/equipment from various manufacturers for camping, fishing, hiking, hunting , kayaking, boating, as well as accessories, clothing, and footwear for those activities. They have a full staff of knowledgeable employees that can answer questions and steer you in the right direction for any activity that they sell products for. I am an avid kayak angler. I can buy a Hobie kayak, add various accessories (kayak wheels/cart , depth finder, rod holders from various manufacturers, etc...), a Kokatat drysuit, PFD, boots, etc... For fishing gear, I can choose various fishing rods, reels, saltwater and freshwater tackle, net, frozen bait, cooler to keep my catch, and a smoker or grill to convert my catch to a delicious meal. I can also get my new reel spool filled with my favorite fishing line. When I get to the cashier, I can get a new fishing license for the year as well as other recreational licenses, passes, and permits. I have been a member for many years. The membership saves me 5% off posted non-sale store prices. They also have special member's pricing throughout the year. The member's appreciation events is fun with free food and beverage as well as deep discounted pricing on selected products. Great outdoor retailer that carries outdoor gear that I use, and friendly employees that help me when I have questions.

Heard from a coworker that they have a good selection of pocket knives so I thought I would stop in and check them out. I was finally able to see some spyderco and benchmade knives in person, which seems pretty essential when you're thinking about buying a nice every day carry knife. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and really helped me better understand some of the differences between the various models, as well as just showing me the knives that are fun. Even got to handle a sword for the first time, hahaha. Suffice it to say, I'll be back in once I save up a bit more. Great store!

Nice local business that has a great selection of products, but is in a tough place relating to Ammo/Gun sales. Seattle is a tax-first municipality, and this just isn't the best place to buy a gun or ammo as a result. They have a decent selection, but it's always going to cost a little bit more. For some people, that isn't a big deal (but I don't know who they are). They have quite an extensive wardrobe selection, pulling from major outdoors brands that you're familiar with. You can find what you're looking for here, but it isn't going to be a light spend.

The Outdoor Emporium is an affordable outdoor equipment/ hunting, fishing, camping store with a nice selection of out door products and brands- wel made and quality brand names not ridiculously marked up in price. The customer service is quite good, staffed with individuals that actually know about the products that they sell. Their membership benefit is well worth the annual fee, if you expect to masked at least 5 trips to this store over the next 12 months.

I usually wind up at OE looking for outdoor or sporting gear and equipment. A few friends stop by for their fishing and camping supplies, and seem pretty happy with the store. The service at OE is usually right at the level it should be. There have been a few times where I was slightly disappointed by the customer service; on two occasions the gentlemen in the sporting gear sections were too busy to help me for about fifteen minutes, after which I left and came back later. Selection and inventory is usually pretty nice; as far as camping and hunting equipment go, they usually have a good variety of gear and equipment, and prices are pretty good. Long guns are usually more tailored towards 'traditional' hunting; they have a better inventory for bolt action and shotguns than they do for more M4 styled tools. Membership pricing is a must if you are an outdoor enthusiast, or have reason to buy equipment often. It expands the limits of what quantity you can buy for limited sale items (ammo), and brings down the price by five percent or greater most of the time, which is nice when you are buying bigger things. I usually check in with them for their large supply of ammunition before I head out; when other shops that might be closer are out of ammo they usually still have some in stock, and it isn't terribly priced either.

Great place to shop if you love outdoor activities. Plenty of very specialized equipment from crabbing to razor clam tubes. Huge selection of rods and reels. Bicycles, clothing, they have it all. Prices are reasonable.

I rate these guys 5 stars. I went in yesterday to buy everything needed for steelhead fishing. Austin helped me and he went above and beyond. He helped me with rod/reel, waders/boots, and tackle. He even showed me rigs and told me about a few places I could fish immediately. Austin spent a good 90 minutes with me to make sure I had what I needed. You don’t get this kind of service at a bass pro or Cabela’s, it just doesn’t exist. The drive to South Seattle was well worth it, I don’t want to take my business anywhere else. Go see these guys!

Local tackle shops are always the first place everyone should go if they are looking to get started in fishing no matter the species or type of fishing. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned angler, the staff at these shops are always willing to help. As an avid angler I came into Outdoor Emporium with little to no knowledge of salmon fishing in Washington. I came across Sam who was able to outfit me with a particular rod for float fishing. He also set me up with the proper terminal tackle and baits catered to the waters I was going to fish. Sam gave me the ins and outs of what I was looking for and I came out with a lot more knowledge than I was expecting! Sam is very passionate about what he does and is willing to help anyone. Not only is Sam very knowledgeable, but he's an awesome guy. I headed out to the river the next day and I was able to hook into a couple fish but lost them :(. But what I learned from Sam gave me confidence out on the water which gave me more opportunities to land fish. If you guys need help getting started or to hone your skills, Sam is your guy! Part 2... (Update) Needless to say, whatever your fishing needs, Sam at Outdoor Emporium is the man and I am glad to have met him. He’ll outfit you with gear and outright give you tips and advice. No nonsense whatsoever. After coming across him, I was able to fish with him every other week as he taught me the ropes and I progressively learned from him each day on the water. For about 6 trips I had no fish in the net, despite a couple of lost chances, but kept at it. After giving me a few of his spots for me to try and setting me up with some of his cured salmon skeins, I killed it two days in a row, catching a 6lb silver, a PB. I owe my recent success to this guy. If you’re like me and don’t have a boat, as long as you are nice to Sam, he will meet with you to fish. He’s always killin the fish game and it was just a matter of time before I caught my own.

I went there to renew my annual razor clam license, and it was quick and painless. The clerk was friendly and helpful; he scanned my old license (it had expired on 3/31/19) to find me in the system. A couple of keystrokes and $14.10 later, he handed me my new license. For a new license, you would need your driver license to register. You can also purchase a license online via the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.

This is a GREAT place! I've been a member for about 4 years now, got a lot of my friends to become members also. The store is locally owned - I met the owner once when I had a problem with something, which he addressed. Fishing and Firearms departments are second to none in Seattle and maybe even King County. You'd have to take the 2 hour drive to Lacey or Tulalip to find a bigger selection. The people that work there are very knowledgeable, all of them hunt, boat and fish; and they dont seem to be commission-based at all. My wish is that they would carry less clothing (we have REI, Filson's and many other stores for that) and make room for some reloading stuff.

Outdoor Emporium feels a lot like a local version of Sportsman's Warehouse. The floors are wide open with no barriers from section to section. They offer a wide variety of supplies, from hunting and firearms to camping and running. There is definitely some curation done on brands, as they have a broad selection from a few companies, especially in the boots and other clothing. Staff is helpful and easily found, if you're in need of service. Be sure to check your bags at the door, though!

This is a great outfitter, and competitive with REI, with a more practical demographic than Amazon techies needing carbon-fiber equipment for strenuous 5 mile day hikes. They have a great footwear section, for both workwear and hiking. Same goes for all of their clothes. Outdoor Emporium also has some sections you won't find in REI, notably fishing and guns/hunting. They happen to be one of the last gun stores in Seattle, thanks to/despite the city council. They have a great selection of guns and safes. No reloading supplies, apparently due to a likely political fire marshal, with an interesting take on prefer storage. The staff are quite friendly and happy to help.

I'd like to preface this with the fact that I'm an evil gun owner. I purchased a revolver here about 10 months ago, and ended up getting the membership because it was cheaper to do that and buy the handgun with the discount rather than pay sticker price. Seemed like a winning proposition, but after that, every single time I've gone back in there to either shop for ammo (before the illegal city tax was passed), look for parts, or even try to order a .22 rifle, getting help in the hunting department is a pain in the butt, and some of the people there talk to you with a sense of superiority - which isn't anything new in the gunshop world. My last experience here was asking if they had a specific rifle in stock, which they said they did and to come on down and that they'd set it aside for me, and when I showed up they didn't actually have it in stock, and the guy didn't remember me on the phone...despite us literally talking 5 minutes ago. Then they said they could overnight the rifle to the store and that they'd call me. It took them a week to get back to me. By that time I had already ordered online, had it delivered to my FFL, and done all the paperwork.
