Great for a first time female buyer. I went there today as a woman who is a nervous first time gun buyer for protection. Did not know what to purchase. Have never owned a gun, don’t even know the names of guns. I was given good advice on what type of gun to buy. With good explanations on the types of guns. Store is strict on no phone policy; they do have written instructions on the door about no phones and drugs. They will do a background check and have a written policy for you to read before you pay for the background check. All in all I felt that the purchase procedure, as a first time novice, I was well guided through how to buy a gun. If you are a first time buyer they will explain to you the procedures of guns. For reference I am black.

This shop was amazing and very well stocked. Anyone looking to purchase a firearm in Nashville should make this a first stop because I went to several places and they didn’t have half the inventory this store had (in 2022 no less with all the supply issues). Very friendly owners, very knowledgeable, and with unique items at great no-gouge pricing. By far better than the Cabela’s inventory. Purchased a signature series Canik TPN SFX Whiteout. Super great deal and firearm.

The guys here are great! Very helpful and they don't try to push any type or brand on you. They let you handle the firearm and let you find the one that feels the best and I couldn't find anyone not even mail order that could beat the prices. Mail order prices look good until you add shipping and the FFL fees. I am planning on a 1911 purchase for my own BD present and this is the place I will buy it.

Was my first time giving them a try. Don’t know why since they’re the closest gun shop to my house. Shame on me for waiting so long. I can honestly say this was the easiest, quickest in and out of a gun shop with purchase I’ve had. Told the guy what I was in the market for. He walked me right to it and the process began. While waiting for background to clear, remembered I needed extras to go with purchase. He pointed me right to em. This never happens with me. There wasn’t one downside to shopping here. They have an awesome selection that includes a high number of dang near anything you’d want that a local gun shop would carry. Service was knowledgeable and fast. Knows his inventory and knows firearms & the latest in everything firearms news, up to date. No doubt I will be stopping in here first when my funds allow for new purchase. Nashville Gun Shop (and its owners) are great! I stopped by for the first time today after having a far less pleasant experience at another gun and ammunition shop. As of early fall 2020 there is still an ammo shortage most places, and as a result a lot of places are out of stock or they order retail to keep the shelves full. Retail is more expensive than wholesale so you may find the prices a bit high, but I was happy to give these guys my money because they were so nice when I called and when I came into the store. NGS is not near where I live but I'll definitely be back when I need some more ammo. I'm very glad to give these guys my business and you should feel confident to as well.

Have been here a couple of times before and have bought a gun from these guys as well but never any ammo until today and can tell you NEVER AGAIN and don't recommend anyone else either I bought a 20 round box of Winchester Silvertip 9mm ammo and didn't look them up beforehand just asked for some decent 9mm ammo but after coming out of the store I looked them up online and these guys charged me almost triple what every site online is selling them for not sure how or why they have it marked up that high but is RIDICULOUS avoid ammo here at all cost EDIT- was a total misunderstanding it was new inventory and they hadn't had time to price it right, went back and everything was made right and I was refunded the difference.. these guys really are awesome 👌

Bought (traded in and bought) a new pistol today. These guys are great! Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and very reasonably priced. I left the BIG store in town, and they were very crowded. Not so friendly. When I asked to see a pistol I was interested in the salesman began to tell me about the gun. The first thing he said was incorrect about a feature and I educated him. Probably the best, overall, gun shop in the area when it comes to selection, price, and the great group that runs the store. They don't care if you buy the most expensive gun, unlike most shops. Bought my first Shotgun here, an H&R Pardner Pump. Ordered it Friday to be shipped to their store, and they called me midday Tuesday to pick it up. I don't know that I've ever met nicer people, which is a change from most gun stores that I'm used to. Highly recommend this place. Staff was very helpful from the moment I walked in. He stopped what he was doing to assist me. He clearly explained every question on the application without any condescending tone you will receive at some gun shops and even offered a 10% discount on ammo and a cleaning kit with the purchase of a gun. I was going to use a credit card, but he stopped me and asked if I had a debit card, since a credit card would incur a 4% surcharge. He even upsold a cheaper ammo for the purpose of my buying a gun. All around great experience.

This store is great. The guys are honest, patient and very helpful. They took the time to explain the differences between many similar models leading me to a solid decision. They actually informed me of a couple things my research didn't show which saved me from making a bad decision. I would recommend this shop to anyone, experienced or not..this is the place.
