A roller derby teammate suggested I try this shop and I am so glad she did! They actually measure your feet and then give you several options to try. They even put the skates on my feet for me and gave me special socks. The customer service was outstanding! They have a small track inside the store too so you can skate around and really get a feel for the skates. The skates I bought online 10 years ago from another shop were more expensive than the ones I just bought from Asphalt. I paid less then $300 for a full skate package (boots, trucks, wheels, etc.) They also have a good selection of gear (knee pads, helmets, mouth guards, etc.) you can try on too. I tried on several of the knee pads. Years ago, I ordered my skates online and my feet are pretty wide so my skates hurt my feet all these years because I wasn't able to try them on. I highly recommend it! The staff are knowledgeable and super helpful! It was a wonderful experience!

WOWWWW… the friendliest welcome, and the coolest approach on WHEELS “so dope”!!! The reviews are awesome, but to be honest, there’s not enough stars to rate this place and it’s amazing TEAM! I have to say, Woofie/Derrick customer service has by far been the BEST I’ve received all year (seriously). I knew very little about roller skates until now. Thanks guys for sharing your wisdom/knowledge, and for taking my skates to the next fashion level. I can’t wait for the rink to meet my new wheels!!!🛼

First the skate shop is amazing. They have so much inventory and an actual little skate track that's in the middle of the sales floor. I'm 37 and it was the first time I'd ever been to a real skate shop that focused on inlines and I was blown away. They also had a great selection of quads and skateboards which is really cool. Steve remeasured my feet and confirmed I had purchased a skate that was too big. I had came to have the plastic shell of my Imperial boot punched out so my dumb foot bone could have some more room. He informed me that sometimes plastic shells have a harder time with a punch and it may not stay forever but was willing to help me in a desperate situation after travelling for nearly 3 hours thanks to weather and traffic and weather related traffic. He also recommended that I get the 3mm version of the Ezeefit bootie since the ultra slim didn't help me. Also got some waxed laces and safety equipment and a set of 4 smaller wheels so I could try a full rockered setup. I finally got to skate last night and the wound on my take ankle bone still had a scab on it, but for the first time in months since i got these skates I was able to go hard for 2.5 hours with no pain, no blood and no worries if I'd be healed up enough to skate a week from today. I cannot explain how happy that made me. My already wounded foot suffered no consequences when I took the chance to skate again before I was fully healed. Amazing. Steve is a no BS kind of guy with a dry sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge that only comes with decades of experience. His shop is unique, fairly priced and a joy to visit. The ladies on his staff were phenomenal as well and very eager to help me figure out a solution to my dumb foot problem. I read other reviews, most of which are glowing, but to the few people that came out of there with a bad impression the best advice I can give is that Steve will tell you want you need, and it may not necessarily be what you want to hear, but he's almost certainly correct. If you skate inlines or quads, this is your mecca in Tennessee. I can't explain how much joy I had last night leaving the rink and knowing that I'll be able to skate again in a day or two. Support this local business. They're the best.

Lo and behold, they had one pair left just waiting for me and they're not super girly or ridiculous looking. We got a pair of quad and a pair of inline skates. I don't just mean in the context of skating-- I mean in the context of shopping in general: that was one of the best shopping experiences I've ever had. We came in to get safety gear for my special needs son, who is beginning to ride a scooter. He's a bit difficult to manage, but all of the staff took the time to help fit and pick out the best gear for him. ...Now if I could actually get him to ride! The gear looks fantastic, and since I've owned Triple 8 gear myself, I know that my kid's also going to be wearing some of the best you can get! If you need safety gear for skating or adjacent activities like skateboarding, scooters, or inline skating, don't bother going anywhere else until you've visited these wonderful people!

They have a Great selection of mid to upper level skates and a very nice store with a small track that allows one to try out the product to help ensure the correct fit and feel. My daughter wanted some roller skates for her birthday. I looked at several roller rinks, but the on hand inventory was disappointing. Asphalt beach had a great selection and I ended up spending less than at a roller rink. The staff was great and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

I personally did not buy a pair of skates from here, because they didn't have the exact ones I was looking for. However, they were extremely helpful in finding out what would work best for me and even reached out to the manufacturer to see if they could get the ones I wanted. They have a pretty wide selection and are really helpful. I would recommend this store 100%, and will be coming back when I need new wheels and frames! Awesome store.

Best place to get skates in hundreds of miles. The owner knows skates of all kinds and so does his staff. They are patient and kind. They only carry reputable brands and they take safety very serious. The very best part is you can try them on and skate. I don't know any other place in Nashville that allows that, not even the rinks. This was my second purchase. When I purchased my quads, I knew what I wanted, tried them out, and made the purchase. The owner also stretched them so I didn't have to go up a size.. This time I tried on 5 different rollerblades and spent about an hour and a half. Check them out. You feel great about your purchase. I drove six hours to get there and it was well worth the drive! Steve, the owner, and the rest of the crew were awesome! They have a huge selection of inline, quad, and aggressive skates in addition to all the gear you would ever need, as well as a huge knowledge base for the products. I went to the temporary Elm Hill Pike location and can’t wait to drive back for the opening of the new store! I highly recommend!

Just left this place and immediately had to leave a 5-star review. My mom and I came in to get her some skates. Some points: - Everyone at AB is so patient and friendly! I got a little grief for my janky vintage skates, but nothing obnoxious. - My mom really liked the vibe of the store (which is great because she's shy about skating). - After hearing us playfully bicker about the skates not being her Mother's Day gift, the guy at the register gave her a t-shirt for Mother's Day. As soon as we got in the car, she said that she'll absolutely return! I really liked the vibe, but above all else I like that my mom felt comfortable enough to buy some skates and get back into a hobby she used to enjoy as a kid. I made a appointment 30 mins before closing, can I say they were super helpful!!!! Not only was I looking for skates, but for my 3 other daughters. They got me in and out! I thought they were gonna maybe complain about my daughters being with me including I had my newborn but absolutely not. They got me and my girls sized up, and out in 20 mins. From the time I walked in to the time I left, the folks there where as attentive and helpful as anyone could ask, knowledgeable without a hint of pretense or sales pressure. Very helpful staff. Helped me changed my skates to rockered layout and sold me some wheels for a decent price that are pretty hard to find. Store seemed to have an abundant supply of everything you need on hand. Staff was very friendly and laid back. No pressure walking into the place and looking around. I had a really enjoyable experience at this place If you need skate supplies from a brick and mortar store. This is the place to go to in Nashville. I would GO HERE from now on instead of buying online, because of the way I was treated. A+ Only reason I give it a 4 is because parking is super small. It's only because of the location and that's the downfalls of being a store in a city. Not really the stores fault but anyone with a truck is going to have a hard time in that parking lot. My F150 basically took up the entire width of the lot.

First thing I noticed is that they asked me my name. That's the first sign of great customer service! They were extremely helpful and hooked me up with a pair of blades and even an extra set of wheels for free! They even put my blades on for me. I never review places, but this is a shop that caters to a specific crowd. I came in with distinctly NON-derby/skate park needs and the young lady helping me took time to help me find skates to fit me comfortably to go skating with my kids again on a casual basis. She very easily could have upsold me into more expensive derby models, but she never once tried and in fact told me that for our occasional purposes, it wouldn't be warranted. She then spent an additional ten minutes trying to help my 8 year old choose "not pink" wheels only to have her choose wheels that are on my old skates (resulting in no sale for that part). She was so patient, and kind. A great experience. Well worth the drive.

No where in my area do they sell Moxi skates, which I thought was odd, but I'm kind of glad so I could have the opportunity to purchase mine from Chelsea at Asphalt Beach! In the last year, I have been to Asphalt Beach to purchase products for non-standard uses (bearing to help my newphew design and make his own fidget spinner and replacement wheels for my luggage). Both times the staff, and cat, were extrmely friendly and helpful. When asked how the items were to be used, the staff made suggestions for the most practical and cost effective products. I am not a skating or skateboarding enthusiest, but I will continue to support them whenever I can.
