Wandering Us

When we travel we love to visit local shops to collect souvenirs. Fonz had been eyeing Cal Surf in his research before our trip and we were so glad to find time to make it. The staff was friendly and informative about the local art and skate scene. We loved their Minneapolis tribute clothing. Couldn't leave without one and ended up with the Twin Cities shirt in a Thrasher font. Before we left we got to meet the owner who showed us their gallery space with a few pieces left from their last exhibit. It was so nice that we were bummed we missed the exhibit. Loved our visit and will definitely return if we make it back to MPLS.

I love coming here, easily my favorite and the best skate shop in the twin cities. They have great selection in all skateboard goods and apparel. All the staff are super knowledgeable in the products. Overall , I would recommend coming here for your next skateboard.

Love you, Cal Surf! Great stock, reasonable pricing, Ethan was so nice and informative. He treated my 11 year old, not like a little kid, but like a fellow skater, exchanging skater lingo and banter that I was clueless about. My son is so thrilled with his new deck and he gave him some old decks that had been left there, which we made into shelves in his room! He’s so grateful. Life has been tough for so many people lately and encounters like these go a long way.

I brought 3 of my kids here for new skateboards on a Sunday afternoon. Two of my kids knew what they needed and my daughter needed a bit more help. The two guys working were kind and patient and really helpful to both experienced skaters and my daughter who is just getting started and figuring out what she wants. We'll be back again, great shop!

A classic skate shop, nice to be able to just walk in and grab some new bearings or look at shoes. I got some cream colored Emerika hi tops for a reasonable price, $60 or 70. Clothes are pretty expensive, as is to be expected from any skate shop.

Same price as Amazon, but get it today! Very friendly staff. They build and adjusted our board in less than 15 minutes. I notice they only carry the products that work, not junk that sells and ends up in a landfill. Also they were able to answer my kids question and teach them some basic board tech. We were very happy with the service.

Ended up getting my first skateboard at this shop, very cool and friendly staff, nice selection too. Staff is very knowledgeable with going over and explaining mutiple selection of every piece getting added to a board.

This is the best skate shop in town. It feels like the shop that I went to when I was a kid growing up in the 80’s. The guys that work there are super cool and helped my daughter get a fresh pair of Vans. We’ll be back again.

I love the place 99% of the some of the staff can be a little unhelpful but that's only happened once. Basically everyone is extremely helpful,caring,nice and friendly. I live less than a mile from them and im sad I don't go there more often. I take great pleasure every time I open the door to they're shop. New years resolution go to Cal Surf when ever I can.

I took my son Charley to see some SkateBoards at CalSurf and had a 10 out of 10 experience. Scott the owner was there and stayed open late for me on a Friday night. His team fit my little dude for a really cool board that he picked out and then custom made the board right there in front of us. What a cool experience for my son to see. I would recommend anyone to go see this locally owned shop.

I've been going to Cal Surf for about 12 years. My GOTO PLACE for Nike SB's. They always have some dope dunks, blazers and janowskis. Nice selection of clothing, skateboards, trucks and wheels. A few snowboards as well. I always come back. And the cool staff actually knows about skateboarding and skateboarding culture thank the lord.
