Exceptional experience buying new ski boots at the Alpine Shop. Ian was super helpful and patient, and worked with me to find the best model to fit my wide feet. He made multiple adjustments for me to get them just right, and I can't wait to get out on the slopes and try them! Absolutely worth spending the time, effort, and money getting the perfect boot fitting here. They've also got a great selection of gear, and everyone working the floor is knowledgeable and professional. I absolutely recommend going to the Alpine shop for the best ski boot fitting anywhere - other shops I visited seemed less committed to getting things spot on for their customers. Prices are reasonable too.

Between the quality of ski tune, the helpfulness of employees, and affordable prices, the Alpine shop is really a step up from all other ski shops. Set up time for trackman For 1hr. (Called day prior) to extend for 2 hrs. Which was told 👍🏻. When I got there, they double booked my second hr. Little disappointed I couldn’t play the 2nd hr but, they did the right thing and gave me a free hr. Thank you for the great costumer service. Had they not been professionals about the mistake. 1star. I was looking for a place where I could try a variety of new golf drivers, to replace my 15 year old Titleist. I was very pleased with the experience at the Alpine Shop! The 1 hour fitting had me try four different brands, and then go on to try 3 or 4 shaft varieties. James was patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Trackman simulator allowed for great objective feedback. Smart program to allow for the fitting fee to go toward the purchase of a new driver. My new Callaway Rogue has been a great investment as I try to put that little ball in the hole in as few strokes possible! Thank you.

Had a fantastic experience with The Alpine Shop. I am a volunteer wish granter For Make A Wish VT and Becky the owner generously donated a $200 gift card to my wish child. When we went on 1/3/22 to purchase skis, boots, bindings and poles a wonderful young man named Guinness worked with us. He worked with us for 2 hrs. He was absolutely amazing. I would say that about all the staff as I watched many interactions between other staff and customers. I highly recommend the Alpine Shop!!⭐⭐⭐

Had an amazing golf fitting experience with the alpine shop this week. Andy was so welcoming and didn’t hesitate to get me scheduled right away. Lucas did the fitting with me on the Trackman and, very quickly, had me hitting 40 yards further than normal and found the right clubs for my game. The new Alpine Shop is a refreshing and well-designed venue. But that is not what makes it shine. Their activewear clothing section is stocked with the latest fashions. It would be a hard task to leave the store empty-handed. I love the selection.

I was lucky enough to find the snowboard that I had been looking for a on late in the season. Stock was low pretty much everywhere but the Alpine Shop had it. My new board arrived 36 hours later in the midst of a pretty good snowstorm no less. Great service!

The Alpine Shop is great, really great - experienced, super helpful staff, quick turn-around on any ski tunes, broad inventory and selection, amazing ski/board lease program, and an impressive bike shop for regular maintenance throughout the season. I need to mention one minor gripe, its not big enough to remove a star but the stickers they use for pricing leave a big mess on items we've purchased, view the helmet photo attached. This has been consistent for years on skis and any hard goods that don't have a tag. Not sure if there is a better way to mark pricing? Thanks!

Our local ski shop of choice. They were a little backed up due to demand and staff shortages so we had to wait longer then usual for some ski tunes. Despite this they are always friendly, professional, and own their mistakes. Definitely a great local buisness.

UPDATE: Thank you Andy for reaching out to me directly to speak about the issues we encountered. I understand that you take pride in your business and that anywhere improvements can be made is good to know for you and all staff members. We will return to the shop and hope to have a better experience next time. Wish we could say better of a typically good establishment. The issues were as follows; First We brought skis to be mounted and told there was going to be a two week waiting period We were told that we wouldn’t get a call so we showed up two weeks after the day we are drop them off. When we arrived we were met with the fact that they had never been fully entered into the system and had been sitting at the shop for two weeks untouched in a corner with no labels ect. Second after buying a specific binding and being told that they would work with our existing mounting holes, At the time the skis were dropped off. However today we were told that the bindings would need to be exchanged for others because they would not work with the mounting holes. Seems like a big discrepancy in the staffs knowledge. Third we were told when we came to pick up the skis that they could mount them they are for us in the next 20 to 30 minutes which seemed like a good solution to the problem.They even offered to upgrade the bindings to rectify that issue. But we continue to sit and wait for up to an hour to have the mounting done when we had explicitly told them that we had somewhere to be and to let us know if it would be any longer than they anticipated time. We were asked by multiple employees if we had been helped and we told him we are waiting for skis be mounted but no one ever went and checked to see how far along they were or if they were ready. Marc was the only employee that seemed to be able to help us as he gave us a card for 4 tuneups and was the only one who put in the effort. He ran around quite a bit while other employees did almost nothing to assist us. Despite Marc efforts we were there well over an hour and left frustrated by the experience. All we can hope for now is at the binding installation was not rushed.

The Alpine Shop team gave me excellent advice as I sorted through the generally unhelpful ski industry promotional material. Not every ski is perfect for every condition and Alpine Shop gave me excellent choices (and prices!) for my particular skiing style and terrain preferences.

The prices were very good and beat the competition, gave free shipping (which is required in my book), and shipped my order promptly. My skis were shipped via FedEx. FedEx delayed the shipment 3 times until it finally said "Information Not Available". I sent a reply to my order inquiring about the shipping status. I received a reply from Hillary right away. Most people would have said to call FedEx, but not Hillary. The message said they are looking into it and will get back to me. Shortly after, she said they spoke to FedEx and the package will be delivered within 48 hours. The next day, much to my surprise, I got another email from Hillary with an update for the shipment. Loved the attention. Thanks Hillary!

Doesn’t get any better. I went to The Alpine Shop a few days ago to rent skis for the season. Jamie worked with me to find a boot that fit well, going above and beyond to ensure that I’d be comfortable and secure on the mountain. The whole process felt very personalized. Jamie asked me about my skiing skill level, the terrain and resorts I ride, what skis I’ve used and liked in the past, what I didn’t like about past skis and more. It’s been a couple years since I’ve gone, so I needed a whole new outerwear set up. He helped me pick out a jacket, pants, goggles, hat, helmet, and gloves that not only performed the best but also all matched and are up to date with the trends for the season. Instagram approved, for sure. Though I rented my gear, they set me up with skis, boots, poles and bindings that all look well together. The rental process is quick and painless and the price is right. The staff here is incredibly kind and patient, while selling you products that work with your needs and wants, rather than forcing the same robotic sales pitch on every customer. They all have a huge wealth of knowledge about snow sports, in general, which helped a novice skier such as myself look and feel like a pro. I will absolutely be coming back here next year and have already sent a few friends their way. Thanks Jamie and thank you Alpine Shop!!

Being in the far West, I had never heard of Alpine Shop clear out in Vermont. They happened to have a pair of skis I was looking for at an unusually good price, with free shipping, so I gave them a try. Their email communications about the status of my order were as good as it gets. I think they shipped my skis the same day as the order and they arrived all the way to Reno, Nevada faster then I get stuff from, say, REI in Seattle or, actually, any of the bigger companies and even smaller companies that are much closer, geographically. The skis I received were exactly as I had expected and I could not be more satisfied with my experience with Alpine Shop. They were also very responsive (less than a day) to an email question I had.

I was visiting Family in Vermont and had been researching E-bikes. I stopped at a couple of bike shops and did not purchase there. When I stopped at the Alpine Shop I was immediately greeted by Fisher and was shown the inventory on hand. He educated me even more than the research I had done. To my luck, the bike I liked was on sale. Fisher had an enormous amount of knowledge, he was patient with me as I struggled to find a way to get the bike home and ultimately was able to fit it in a small SUV I had rented. He did so while still leaving enough space for my 2 dogs and luggage. Because he was so knowledgeable, and even more important he was genuine and not pushy, I decided to purchase everything I needed for the bike. He patiently walked me through what I should have, pulled it all together and installed the things that needed to be. If I could give him, the staff of the Alpine shop, 10 stars, I would.

Fantastic customer service. The staff has is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and will always go above and beyond to ensure you leave satisfied. The saga of my getting a pair of decent, well fitted ski boots here is a long one. Long story short, if you buy gear here the staff will do whatever it takes to make sure the equipment works for you. They have been beyond generous with their time and knowledge in getting me, a difficult customer, into a good pair of boots. This is THE shop to go to in Burlington for all your skiing and riding needs.

I live and work 40 minutes away in Saint Albans and I needed new ski boots, after a friend recommending the Alpine Shop I decided to give it a try and made an appointment for a boot fitting and purchase. I arrived right on time and was greeted immediately, the guy who helped me was Andy, I cannot say enough good things about him and his sales manner and approach, he asked all the right questions and did not push anything on me or try and upsell, he seemed truly interested in making sure I had the right boot for what I needed. I am also in sales and can tell when I am just a number, I was so impressed and appreciative of how I was handled I decided to buy ski`s, bindings and poles along with the boots. I could have definitely gotten them cheaper online but wanted to support a local business and wanted to a place to go back to in case I needed help for service etc. Again thank you Andy and will be back if I ever need anything else!

I have to say this is the best ski shop I've ever been to! The selections of clothing and gear was amazing! The staff was also super happy and excited to help me without being to pushy! I was able to purchase skis and boots for myself and they were able to mount them the same evening even though they were obviously extremely busy. I also enrolled my children in their leasing program at the same time that got us new quality ski equipment for a great price as well as all the other added perks and coupons that came with their leasing program. I can't say enough good things about the Alpine Shop and their staff! This will always be my family's go to ski shop for everything we need. Great ski shop all around. They have an excellent selection of gear, but what really makes them special are their knowledgeable and friendly staff. I say this because I've just wrapped up a week long ski vacation in Vermont that would've been much less fun if I hadn't stopped here. First off, I needed some rental skis. Since it was the tail end of the season the guys in the shop were able to set me up with a pair of Line Sick Days + Marker Griffon bindings from the demo pool at the seasonal rental rate. That saved me a ton of money versus renting premium skis at the daily rate. My other big problem were the boots I brought with me. After a few days out, I found that for one reason or another they were simply too small to be comfortable any more. So it was back to the Alpine Shop. Andy was working that day, and he did a great job of patiently working through several pairs of new boots and inserts with me. His expertise definitely guided me to the right set of new boots, and I spent the remainder of my vacation skiing in much more comfortable boots.

The young men working the ski rental shop downstairs are friendly and helpful. We went around 5:30pm on a Thursday in October and there was no line. Sizing for skis, boots and polls and paying took under 20 minutes.

Nice shop but... Warning for those with kids leasing equipment: I have brought my kids here in the past to lease ski and snowboard equipment and it was overall pretty good! This year, I learned that no matter how old they are, if they now fit adult equipment, you will get charged the adult lease price (almost double). Keep that in mind if you are interested in the Alpine Shops lease Rewards Program... The resorts haven’t charged differently with the strait forward requirement that your child be 18 or under. I think I will stick with leasing from the resorts from now on. Otherwise, we’ve had some pretty good (and only a few not so great) experiences leasing from them in the past and most sales associates and technicians there have been very nice and helpful.

Been going here on and off for years. Leased for my kid for several years and no problems with the leasing. Disappointed with this last transaction. Buddy of mine bought a 4 pack tuning and only used one. He is leaving the area to get stationed somewhere else and gave me the card. Said cool, 3 boards i can bring in and they wax it and wont have to wax in the beginning of next season. Came to pick it up and nothing was done to the boards. Girl who helped me said i dont work in this section. Said it was done in the system. Offered for me to keep it there and talk to whoever. I just took my boards and said I’ll wax it in the beginning of the season. Very disappointing, feels like they just sell you the package and when you want to cash in its like extra work. Good thing my teenager isnt leasing anymore. Buying him some gear and will teach him how to tune.

Both sales and ski shop staff were incredibly knowledgable and provided me with helpful information. I was apprehensive to purchase skis without demoing first, but was lead in the right direction by an informed staff who was also willing to got the extra mile and mount bindings on a Friday evening while I waited. At the time of my visit in mid-December the place appeared to be chaotic and disorganized. The parking area was very congested and hard to get out of. Barely any measures seemed to be taken to prevent COVID-19. Multiple customers were seen without masks. Thankfully all the staff was masked, but there was no enforcement of capacity or social (6') distancing. The salesperson we dealt with regarding Nordic equipment, was not sure and lacked knowledge, combined with very poor selection of Nordic skiing equipment, it was not helpful. But the personnel were friendly and genuinely trying to help.

Bought a pair of skis online of last year's model. I called to make sure the store had what was advertised and the staff were very friendly and helpful. After placing order online got an email about a VERY small imperfection on one ski. Most wouldn't have even noticed it it was so small. Absolutely still took the skis and so glad I did. The picture they sent even made it look worse than real life. The skis are in pretty much perfect condition and they arrived quicker than expected. Initially my experience with Alpine Shop was really bad...see below. However, apparently I was dealing with an assistant manager not the manager as I stated. The manager contacted me after the incident and went far and above what I was expecting. He was very apologetic about the entire incident and got my wife set up on a great set of skis. As a result I'm changing my review from 1 star to 5 and I will continue to shop at Alpine Shop. Worst retail experience I've ever had. Did the season ski lease for my wife and daughter. One of the stated benefits of the lease program is that you can swap the skis if you want a different length. My wife's skis were too short. When I brought them for a swap, they did not have any similar suitable skis that were her size. When I pointed out that they weren't able to meet the promise of the lease program the sales person got really annoyed and tried to make me seem to be unreasonable. The whole thing escalated and eventually they refunded my money. The sales people, including the manager were very rude. I'll never spend another dime at Alpine Shop.

I have leased equipment for my kids through the Alpine Shop for several years. The service is always fantastic! The kids have always been thrilled with the selection of gear. The shop allows them to have the skis re-tuned as often as they wish throughout the season. I personally know very little about ski equipment. The kids knowledge and passion for the sport surpassed mine years ago. The guys at Alpine Shop clearly talk the talk and walk the walk with my kids. Ordered some skis and bindings on Cyber Monday. Unfortunately, they were out of inventory. I was a bit frustrated (though in retrospect I over-reacted) - I understand that on big shopping days local shops can have a surge of orders. I called them to confirm, and Hillary went out of her way to help. Seriously I've been skiing a while, and Alpine Shop was more helpful online than many shops are in person. Alpine Shop is now my first place to go when shopping for Skiing/Outdoor gear. Update (May 2020). Bought a third pair of skis (online) for my family. Another great transaction. Still my favorite spot for Skiing/Outdoor gear.

I went here on a recommendation from a colleague, I normally go to ski rack, but I'm really happy I decided to come here. I recently snapped a binding on my snowboard. I was frustrated I was going to have to leave it overnight to be repaired, well I was wrong. I was able to walk right in and have somebody take the board from me. He was in the back for maybe five minutes or so brought out my board completely fixed and that was that. Great customer service great prices.

Folks have told me to go here and I finally did. Now I understand why. First the setup for COVID times was easy and everyone was safe (hand sanitizer, masks, distance). I asked Jamie/James about getting my snowboard setup and he did it as he spent about 45 minutes talking with me about skis, boots, and bindings, trying things on, explaining the why and how every step of the way while simultaneously explaining what he was doing to my snowboard and what I'd need to know. I would give this shop a 6 if I could! I used to come here a lot when I lived in town. I've since moved to an area with no ski shop and needed a pair of skis mounted. Fortunately, I had a trip back up to Burlington planned, so I called ahead about bringing my skis in--they said no problem and took care of everything right then. This place is great. It was a great idea, oversold so we had to move the Yoga venue to a lunchroom that had French fries and other debris all over the floor. I did not bring my yoga mat and they ran out of the few mats provided. As much as I thought the yoga part was a great idea, it really was too much to move 30+ women in a snow storm and then try to concentrate on yoga when greatfreshies were accumulating outside at 8:30am. My recommendation would be to have a breakfast & registration and lecture in that same room next year & then do the demo ski which was great. It was also very nice to learn that there are a lot of great women skiers out there full of enthusiasm. Even the mid ski era were enthusiastic and we all had a ball once we got out there. It was fun to have excellent guides and the camera guy as well. The lunch in the other area was excellent and overall the Alpine Shop effort was fantastic. Just the meeting/eating place should all be the same as it’s too hard to juggle so much equipment and parking, etc. to get organized. Thank you ladies for organizing a great day as I learned a lot about the different types of skis for our terrain as well.

After talking to a manager about my negative experience below, the manager gave me my binding mount free, and Jake came in on his day off to give my skis a tune as well. They went above and beyond to fix the issue. Thanks! I just experienced really bad customer service from Jake at the ski shop. I came in to have my skis switched from one binding to another. I know what I'm talking about and make gear choices based on experience. Jake talked down to me and pretty much assumed that I had no idea what I was doing, and informed me that my old bindings were 'way better in every way.' They're not. I've skied both models for years. I made a choice based on preference. Customer service is about guiding people, not making them feel stupid.

I damaged my 10 year old bindings and needed a new set installed within 2 days so they were ready before a ski trip. I looked around the area and Alpine Shop had in stock what I was looking for. The sales person helped me decide on a color, and service was able to turn around the binding swap same-day. But it gets better: I skied the new bindings (which were excellent), but realized I needed a narrower set of brakes. I called in and spoke to Dean in Service, who told me "no problem, we will take care of you, bring them back in when you can." So I brought my skis back in, along with my poles (that I needed shortened slightly), and the service department had both done in less than 24 hours, no questions asked, and at no charge. I'd also like to point out that along the way, when any one employee told me something could be done, the next person I spoke with honored that promise, even if it was outside of normal operating procedure, which goes a long way in building consumer trust. I can't say enough positive things about the service team and helpfulness of everyone and it's for this reason I will keep going back. Thank you!
