Ivo does a great job for a reasonable price. His business is also very accessible, right by the DuPont metro station. I was very happy with the service and plan to return in the future. Ivo can be very heavy-handed, which I prefer. So be prepared to communicate if this is not your preference, and make sure you signed up for the correct type of massage.

I have been going to Ivo for massage for several months now, and I get the deep tissue massage. Ivo is very knowledgeable about massage and soft tissue mechanics/anatomy, so he is able to easily alleviate pain and tension that I identify for him. He can apply a great deal of pressure--sometimes that's what you need--but he is also good about asking and listening to make sure the experience remains comfortable. All of this is a great value because he has very competitive pricing. I feel really lucky that I found Ivo when I moved to the area.

First, I very rarely take the time to write reviews, and, second, I've been relying on massage therapy for almost 20 years due to some persistent issues and the 5-star rating is deserved. Ivo is the best, most reliable, and easiest Massage Therapist I've worked with after living on the East and West coasts. Ivo tailors his approach based on my trouble spots in each visit, and his studio is clean and in a convenient location with Metro and street parking options. His responsiveness, usually within 30 min or less, makes it convenient and easy to schedule appointments, even sometimes with little notice. Highly recommended!

Nothing but good things to say about Ivo. I've been to a few massages now with him and he is really great. Aside from being a very nice guy he is basically a human foam roller. Strong hands and all of the hurt you want in a good massage to get out the knots, but gentle enough that he knows when to pull back so you can relax too. Highly recommend giving him a try. You won't regret it.

Ivo is probably the best massage therapist in DC. I’ve been coming to him for years for pesky back and shoulder tension, and I always feel like a new human after his treatment. This week, as we were preparing to move out of our apartment, I twisted my back on a Thursday morning, and by Saturday I knew something had to be done about the unpredictable muscle spasms before move day. Ivo saw me that evening and resolved it. Painful to the touch when he started, he worked around the most painful tense area until it subsided, and ultimately worked on the spot directly. Pain gone. If you don't read any other part of this review (which you should because you should research before you purchase ANYTHING) the thing you should know is that this place is the best massage for the best price in DC and Ivo is the best masseur. I have scoliosis, so massages are like medicine for me. I suffer from back pain easily, and a real deep tissue massage helps tremendously. I have gone to my fair share of amazing and terrible deep tissue massages before. What sets this one apart is Ivo's ability to give me relief and relaxation without excruciating pain. Ivo always starts by asking me if there are any specific areas that have been bothering me since I last saw him. His knowledge of the various back muscles and how to manipulate them was apparent to me from my first visit. I leave every session with him feeling relaxed and pain free for days. That is simply priceless for someone who suffers from back pain. While not actually priceless, the price is just as amazing as the massage. Incredible price, incredible massage. The massage room is always warm, the beds clean (and smell nice) and the bathrooms clean as well. I hate to share Ivo with all of you because he is my favorite but alas, you should all have the same relaxing and pain free experience that I have had time and again.

He always finds the spots that need work (which are continuously changing on my body) and gets those muscles to relax, no matter how tight they started out. Earlier this week I had my first massage session with Ivo after hearing and reading so much about him and how good he is and what an exceptional masseur he is. The good reviews are all understatements. He is amazing. I scheduled a 90-minute deep tissue massage and explained in a text and in a discussion with him for about five minutes before he began the massage the severe pain and numbness I was suffering for over a year due to three damaged vertebrae in my lower back and the nerves associated with them. This caused wrap-around pain on my torso and even pain down my left leg into my foot. I had not slept properly in many months. The session was intense as he instinctively worked his way right into the sources of the problem. Never have I experienced such a wonderful, therapeutic experience. I felt relief immediately and the improvement has lasted and made my life almost immediately better. As an avid cyclist and yoga practitioner, I had just about given up these activities over the past year. I resumed them the day after this massage and have slept through the night every night since the massage. I'll be going back as much as possible and cannot thank him enough for giving me back important parts of my life and daily activity.
