Fathers Day Surprise! 90 minute couples massage. We were impressed with the ambience from the moment we walked in. We made reservations ahead of time and they were ready for us. Kura Door specializes in taking you into a relaxed element. The bathroom was clean, tidy. They have one shower and one bathroom to use, several lockers. You shouldn’t expect a crowd so the limited stalls didn’t bother me. The waiting room has a quiet room to wait in, or they offer a sauna you may use while you wait. (I recommend the sauna). In addition they offer refreshments while you wait, darling treats I’d recommend. We favored our massage compared to going to the Grand America. The massage table is a lot more comfortable than the Grand America. I recommend warming the table at its highest. The price was reasonable as well, again less than The Grand America. I am comparing due to us always booking at the hotel. We will on occasion pre-book here now. I would disregard sour-patches that leave sour reviews for Kura Door. Everyone has their opinion and personally it’s a Karen who leaves unfair reviews.

An experience like no other! The massage therapist working with me massaged places I didn't even know needed worked on! She catered to my special requests and provided a massage I've never experienced before. Already looking forward to booking here again. Arrive early to take advantage of the complimentary sauna and steam room before your appointment!

Great experience overall. Massage is amazing. I had Annette and she was clearly a pro and made for a great ambiance and massage. The four bath though was just a bath and was not worth more than $10 in my opinion. But that’s on me for not knowing what I was paying for I suppose. Great spa though. Can chill in the sauna, steam room, or rest room between services.

I had a gift certificate from Kura and finally used it yesterday!! This place is wonderful!! I had a phenomenal massage from Annette and afterwards enjoyed using their steam room and dry sauna. Lovely place to relax and unwind. I will definitely come back!

I've come here several times its always amazing. Tonight I got the Chill CBD massage with Spencer, and It was amazing! Hands down the best massage I've ever had. He was very professional, listened to what I needed and also checked on me multiple times throughout the service. He seriously helped my body chill out! Thank you Kura Door and Spencer!

Fantastic experience. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. There are several amenities available before and after your massage such as the steam room, sauna, and lounge. The massage was great! Altogether a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

I had a massage with Lauren that my husband scheduled and surprised me with. I’ve heard good things about The Kura Door - and now I see why. The spa was relaxing and clean. They provided me with disposable slippers to wear into the spa area and a boxed water after the massage. The massage (I had a 60 minute Samurai) was wonderful. The table was heated warm which was nice because it was rainy outside. Music was relaxing and there wasn’t any other distracting sounds happening at the time. Lauren listened to what I needed and tailored the massage to that, with care on areas that I mentioned were painful. She communicated just enough and applied the right amount of pressure. I left feeling immediately better, relaxed, and ready to go back again.

I love the massages I get but I really enjoy the tea & relaxing rooms that are available to enjoy while I'm here. I’m understanding to COVID, but the greeting I received was a bit pretentious for my taste. I didn’t do services (they only have limited services because of COVID) all notes and priced on their website. My interest was in their products for my Airbnb. I made a few notes but didn’t care to dwell long to ask questions or learn more as I was made to feel like a walking COVID infection. I’ve otherwise heard good things about this place and was looking forward to visiting.

Amazing experience and the staff are amazing! This was worth every penny and I've never felt so relaxed. I am so glad I research places before deciding where to spend my time and money, and every good review you see about this place is 100% true. We did the couple's massage package with the coconut milk drench and the reflexology add-ons. 3 hours later we feel amazing! My husband is beyond excited that I found this place as it is a little piece of his favorite duty station, Japan, right here in Utah. Don't hesitate, I promise it will be worth it!

I love the Kura Door, the environment is extremely relaxing. The waiting area pre massage and steam room and sauna post massage are my favorite. They have tea and water and light healthy snacks, (I love the ginger.) The women's dressing room is the only thing I would change, it only has one shower and toilet and no privacy dressing area.

The sauna and steam room have opened and this place is back up to a 5 star experience! Arrive early and relax before the massage. The only thing missing in the pre massage area is tea. The massage room itself: I hate a dead silent massage room - this was not, which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and heated. They use hot towels and hot oil. But most important - the massage! So good! 10 stars for a quality massage and a true deep tissue. You can tell he knew more about body mechanics, muscles, etc than most. Scott was bomb, I feel like he worked out for a full 90 minutes because of how hard he worked. Their prices are steep, no denying that. But if it’s in your budget to pamper yourself, this is a grade A place to invest in your mind and body!

I am currently visiting Salt Lake City and was looking for a pedicure and facial. This is the place to go. Friendly staff and clean spa. I felt relaxed and taken care of during my appointment. I would definitely recommend making an appointment to see Hilary for a facial. She is a sweetheart and does an amazing job. I felt like a million bucks leaving this place. Place is super zen. Has a peaceful and quiet ambiance to it. There is a lot of attention to detail from the quality of the robes to the option you have to choice the aroma of your oil. This place was AMAZING. Went in for a couple’s massage — Our therapists were very professional and very kind. My therapist identified every single trouble spot without me even communicating anything to her (my left hip from an atv accident, my left shoulder from riding a motorcycle, and my neck from sleeping) Environment is very clean and soothing, clean robes, slippers and spring water provided. Five stars!!

Athlete’s massage here was incredible. I forgot the name of my masseuse but this is a wonderful spa. The amenities were closed due to Covid during my visit so I can only imagine how much better it is when they’re opened in full.

Updated: Kura Door has started offering the Ofuro bath again. I appreciated them reaching out to me (which I didn’t realize they were going to do) and making arrangements to get me in for my full package quickly. All of my services were fantastic and the staff worked very hard to make it a nice visit. The steam room and dry sauna are still closed, but overall very pleasant. The only reason I’m withholding one star is because of the lack of flexibility in scheduling my package over the past year. Original review: I have been going to Kura Door for years. First, I have always had a good experience with the services themselves (specifically facials and massages). The reason for my low rating is their customer service with respect to gift packages. I have had a gift card for a package my husband bought me since December of 2019. One of the items on the gift package has not been available since COVID (the Ofuro bath). I have tried several times over the past year to schedule it and am told each time that they can't offer the package because the bath isn't open. My options are to keep checking in and wait until someday when they open it (I've been told 1-2 months twice now in the past couple of months) or to use it for $ value only and lose the discount that was applied to the package. Additionally, many of the amenities that typically made Kura Door stand out (steam and dry sauna) continue to be unavailable through COVID, which makes spa visits less enjoyable than they once were. I understand that there are difficulties with staffing and COVID protocol. However, given how long this has gone on, I would expect Kura Door to honor the intent of the gift cards and come up with more flexible options for their customers. I understand and appreciate that the gift cards never expire, but people's circumstances change (they move, etc) and holding onto a gift card for multiple years is not always reasonable.

This place was amazing. A friend took me for my birthday and it completely made my day. The whole facility is tranquil and lovely with many thoughtful touches that enhance the experience. This is a Salt Lake City institution, local, and family owned. We got the Kura Massages and spent some time decompressing in the meditation room with some tea & figs. We briefly visited the little sauna, which was very nice. One of the things we were most looking forward to was the steam room, which was out of order. That was a disappointment worth noting.

I really enjoyed my facial service! However, I felt like the employees could have explained the whole process a bit better.. as a first time spa goer I felt very lost and confused almost the whole time. I also think their locker room should be widened, but I was told they were in the process of that. Otherwise I really enjoyed my relaxing time at the spa! My skin also felt amazing for days after.

Beautiful place and very relaxing but my massage was just mediocre. My wife on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed her massage so maybe it was the luck of the draw ?? I did receive a call from the owner after my initial review. She offered a $50 gift card for a future visit and was very proactive and concerned about my personal experience. I feel I am partially responsible for my overall experience and I should have requested a different type of massage as it was my first visit and there was no history for them to draw upon. With that said, next time I will be more vocal about specific needs. It was nice to get a call immediately from the owner for more feedback. Th is shows how much she cares about her clientele and business.

This spa is beautiful. The atmosphere is wonderfully calm and inviting. I had a massage with Jodie this week and she did an awesome job. The sauna and tea offered were such a nice touch. By far my favorite place to take my wife and I for a special retreat. After many times here I only go for 90+ minute massage, because the 60 min is just too short! I love the steam room and the ambiance here. The staff has always been super polite and accommodating. It's a little pricey compared to other places, but from my experience they're the best.

I just left the Kura Door and immediately came to my car to write this review. Ryan gave me a deep tissue massage and it was probably the best I’ve ever had :,) I normally get about 6 massages per year, but due to Covid this was my first since Feb 2020. I have a bad back and a lot of built up tension which is completely gone now thanks to Ryan. I’ve been here many times but this massage in particular was elite!! I was hesitant to come bc of Covid but I felt completely safe as everyone was wearing masks and I only saw one other customer briefly in passing. It’s also very clean. Highly recommend.

A True Spa Experience. If you want to get away from it all, the Kura Door is the place to be. After the massage he took extra time to discuss ways to alleviate my headaches and even showed me posture and sitting techniques. My wife took me for my birthday for a couples massage and we are total spa novices and they made us feel so comfortable. There was a steam room and sauna to use after our treatments. It was a little out of budget for regular visits but it was very nice for a treat.

I used to work at a spa and am very picky about spa quality. Cleanliness and professionalism are my biggest concerns when trying out a new place. I've had various treatments in spas throughout the valley and Kura Door is by far the cleanest, most professional spa I have been to. The atmosphere is sophisticated and relaxing, the service is friendly and respectful, and the treatments are amazing! And like I said, so CLEAN! Prepare to feel 100% pampered as you are waited on and don't forget to use the complimentary steam room and sauna. If you are looking for atmosphere and the full "spa experience", the Kura Door has got it! Now that I've found Kura Door, I won't go anywhere else!

The whole ambience is really calming. It's like you are leaving the real world behind and escaping for a little bit. I love to use the steam room before and after my massage because my muscles are looser and I get a better massage. Kim did a good job of changing her routine to meet my needs. I love this place however, my last visit last weekend fell short because the pedicure that ended a 4-service afternoon, was pretty terrible. Polish from my last two pedicures was left on there and then the polish that was used showed both of those through. The guy was super nice, and maybe because it was the end of the evening for him, but overall, he seemed pretty checked out. The massage therapist Victoria was great, and the facial lady Monica was very kind and knowledgeable. Front desk staff as I left was engaged and very kind as well. I really wish I could rate this higher, but based on the last experience, I can't.

I have been going here for 4-5 years and am still in love with this spa. I've traveled a fair amount internationally and domestically and love to throw in a spa experience when I can. Nothing has compared to the experience and price combination of the Kura Door. They really do an awesome job of making you feel comfortable and let you hang out at the sauna for some time afterwards rather than rushing you out to pay. ASK FOR SCOTT FOR YOUR MASSAGE!! Let me tell you why. First you should know I am a single mom who works in social work. So if I am going to save to spend money at a spa, I better not be disappointed. There is nothing worse than feeling like I wasted money. So I had a great a bath first. Then I had a massage. Boy was it amazing!! He is the kind of massage therapist that can tell what your muscles need. He adjust the massage for what your body says. I was so impressed, like happiness filling my muscles. He is worth the money.

I have been coming to the Kura door for years. I treat myself about 3x/year and always see Angel for a 90 minute massage. She is incredible and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. I welcome sitting in the steam room for some extra relaxation time. I recently had a facial which I also enjoyed. I can't really speak to the other services but The Kura Door remains a special oasis and treat that I continue to be thrilled exists in SLC. The Rejuvenation Facial from Alyssa was hands down the most fabulous facial I’ve had (and I’ve had a lot of them). From start to finish, my treatment was flawless! This is not one of those facials where there is a lot of waiting in awkward silence for the masks to sit. Alyssa massaged my feet, hands and scalp as each mask set in. She not only used steam but included oxygen therapy as well. The products used left my skin not feeling great, but my skin looked AMAZING!! I ran into a woman in the locker room afterwards who asked what treatment I had just done because she said my skin was perfectly glowing. She immediately scheduled the same service! It is pricey, but completely worth it!!

We stayed for hours, relaxing in the lounge, the steam room, the dry sauna. The staff was professional and kind and frequently checked on us to see if we needed anything. I absolutely love this spa! It is the only place I will go because everyone else pales in comparison. I have had multiple services from multiple staff members and all of them were phenomenal! The atmosphere is so relaxing. I love that you can go early and lounge in your robe and slippers they provide while eating an organic apple and sipping cucumber water. They also have a meditation room, dry sauna, and wet sauna that you can use (no extra charge) while you wait for your service. Their attention to detail is incredible! If I could give 10 stars, I would!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Kura Door. I’ve been a huge fan for many years and have only good things to say about the atmosphere, staff and most of all, the services. Tonight was no exception. I woke up this morning with a migraine - for the second time this week. It was my fortune there was an opening for a massage with Tori. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. For the first time in a very long time, I felt some relief from the pains I’ve been dealing with such as muscle tension relating to a pinched nerve. And after the massage, the migraine was gone. Tori takes her time, has incredible intuition, and her skill is truly a gift. It almost brings me to tears thinking how a massage can provide mental and physical relief from pain when it’s done so well. Bravo!

Love this place. While sometimes the waiting rooms feel a bit crowded, the services and staff are all great. I've had a facial a few times and come in as often as I can for a massage. Very calm and relaxing ambiance and definitely the best spa in the city.

We have been going to Kura Door for fifteen years and have never experienced anything but an excellent massage! And such rlaxing and lovely atmosphere! THANK YOU. My only suggestion is please get a few pair of smaller sandals and smaller robes (with pockets for glasses.) What you provide is too big and uncomfortable fora small adult like me.

This is the place to relax and decompress. There is a reason it’s as booked as it is. This is the definitive 5-star spa in SLC. Came here recently for a couples massage and, like always, we were treated like royalty. When you walk out the front door you are a completely different person. Pro Tip: If you are coming for a couples massage, opt for the soaking tubs.

I have been coming in for years , with my husband. We got and paid $600.00 for massage , bath and pedicure. I just called to book it and was told that I was not able to book a bath that they just offered on the sale , I asked for a refund for the full amount and she said she was unable to do so, but she would pass my information to a manger who may or may not get back to me. Hmmmm will I return ...I just want my money refunded. For some place that has always given outstanding customer service I am highly disappointed. I did speak with the owner who was very personal, and did give us a full refund that was done promptly. I have not chosen to return at this time.

I have been going to the Kura Door for the past 5 years and I always had amazing experiences. I am a fan of the Yin facial. The products they use smell amazing! However, I don't get why we can't use gift certificate for promotions. My friends gave me a gift certificate for my bday. That certificate had no promotion. So basically, the money they gave equal the amount on the certificate. I wanted to take advantage of an online promotion but after calling them, they said that we can't use gift certificate for promotions. Why that? This is basically money that my friends gave me to spend at YOUR spa and you are refusing to take it for promotions. I could understand if the gift certificate was a promotion itself, the way you sometimes do. But not this one...

My girlfriend and I went there yesterday and both loved it. We did a couple's ofuro and separate massages. The ofuro was very initmate and relaxing. Experience is designed to relax and accommodate with no rush. Our massage therapists, Mara and John really knocked it out of the park. I've gotten massages all around the world, including multiple Asian and European tours; they mostly couldn't hold a candle to these Kura folks. We'll definitely be back.

Booking goes fairly quick so plan at least a week ahead, more for weekends.

The staff is so wonderful and professional and the environment washes away all of life's stresses immediately when walking in the door. This was my second visit to the Kura Door and it was just as exquisite as the first. I had an Ofuro bath followed with a 90-minute Samurai massage. The Ofuro is incredibly relaxing and the exfoliant they provided for me to use before the bath left my skin feeling smooth and soft. After the soak, my massage therapist Amelia did an excellent job working on my trouble areas, and by the end I was in a semi-dream state I was so relaxed. I would highly recommend the the bath/massage combo along with Amelia. This was a birthday splurge and I may have to make it a tradition. If I could give more stars I would! Really really nice. Had a wonderful facial and bath. The hair oil was nice but took a LONG time to wash out. It made me a little uncomfortable that we wear these skimpy robes to walk about the mixed gender area. Also I forgot a library book and didn't realize it. A month later thinking maybe I had left there they still had it rather than returning. Was a little annoying.
