I am very happy with our treatments. Such a wonderful treat for me and my sister. I feel nice and relaxed and my skin feels soft. I'm sure I will sleep well tonight. I wasn't sure if I could handle the heat from the detox treatment but having the facial started at the same time definitely helped it be manageable. I definitely recommend the spa day treatment. Been going here since pandemic and honestly I go at least once a month. It has been amazing since my first visit and I haven't been disappointed in the slightest during any of my visits. After many years of giving and receiving bodywork, I've come to respect more subtle and gentle techniques, however, I thoroughly enjoyed this vigorous scalp massage, especially with the addition of some neck and shoulder work! The warm soft steam on my face and generous oiling of my hair felt luxurious. I appreciated Syed's skill and kindness. Even though the focus was on my scalp, I left feeling completely relaxed and calm in my body, and also energized! It's good to plan afterwards for very oily hair (that smells good) and to double wash it or protect your pillow with a towel.

I've been using Herbal Henna #66 for years.My hair is natural reddish/auburn, darker as I'm now in my late 60s. Gray's trying to move in but it still works great for me. Never tried a leave in conditioner before, but will this time.(My hair stylist said she leaves her black Henna in for 3 hours..that was too long for me, so much for thinking it'd deepen the color!!). I love that I can actually walk in, buy it there without long lines, ask advice & buy from a local shop. ❤

I’m so happy with how my hair came out!! This was my first time getting my hair colored professionally and it was such a wonderful experience. Very relaxing, but I also learned a lot! And surprisingly, there was no staining of my skin afterwards - not sure what secret ingredient they put in the henna to pull off that wizardry! Cannot recommend enough.

Silk & Stone is the best! My hair is always so silky and smooth after the all natural henna color, and the benefits of smooth, conditioned hair last for at least a month (while hair masks I use at home seem to only keep my long hair smooth for a couple of days). The color of the henna is great....my grey is covered by such a natural shade that my hair looks like it did when I was a teenager. I really love that this business provides an alternative to all the harsh, chemical dyes used at other salons. This is actually good for my hair and also helps because I have scalp psoriasis and doesn't irrirate my scalp. In fact, this session one of the owners applied neem oil to the henna mixture which he explained has Ayurvedic properties known to help with psoriasis. The salon is very serene and relaxing, and was just the place I wanted to be after not leaving my house for 4 months with a new baby at home. This salon would be a great escape for anyone looking for the full day spa experience during their hair color. The owners, a couple originally from Pakistan, are very community oriented and aim to bring cultures together through sharing tradional Pakistani and Indian beauty with a Western flair. I definitely recommend Silk & Stone for hair coloring services!

My skin felt amazing for at least 2 months after I received my facial from Morning Star. Kaniz works magic on my eyebrows every time I come to see her. She takes her time with her work and she takes into account how you like your eyebrows shaped. I once made the mistake of going to someone else and it’s taken me years to get them to grow back, never doing that again. The space that Silk and Stone has is absolutely beautiful and clean! Even though I called like three times to make changes to the appointment, the staff was super patient and accommodating. Petra did a great job at threading. She took her time (which I really appreciate!) and went back over certain areas. I have very fine, very blond facial fuzz so it is difficult to see. I often come home from a session and find whole patches left! But she got nearly everything. She did great on my brows as well. Shaped and cleaned them up, but didn't thin them. Happy with the results, would recommend 🤗

I love getting my hair henna'd at Silk and Stone! They do a fantastic job and I don't have to do it myself at home, as it can be a messy application! I love henna because no chemicals like typical hair dye. The color is beautiful and makes my hair really shine! Seems like many love this place as I always see people getting facials and nail treatments and massage. I have been going to this woman for years, she used to work out of her home and then moved, and I'm always left impressed. The henna is always intricate and beautiful, but expect to pay a good price for the quality. I also get compliments about my eyebrows after I get them threaded. It's less painful then waxing, and I have very sensitive skin so the minimal redness after the treatment is a plus.

I had a pedicure here, as a walk-in. I was delighted they were able to get me in quickly without an appointment. Color selection is limited (around a hundred colors; fine unless you're looking for something specific). Pedicure was good, and I greatly appreciated that Margaret tailored it to my specific needs. The only odd bit was that she cut all of my nails at an angle - longer on the left, shorter on the right (on both feet!). I cleaned that up at home a few days afterward. She tells me that her pedicures last for six weeks, but after a week this one seems to be wearing at about the typical rate. The rest of the staff was also friendly and helpful, and the tea was delicious.

Their henna color range - in quality, value, and color accuracy - is bar none. But here’s what you really need to know if you’re a home henna applier - DON’T MAKE A MESS AT HOME. Book an appointment with Sayed for your full henna, touch ups and root jobs. You’ll never mix it up at home again. It’s the most affordable hair color anywhere on earth (whether you apply home or in salon), and the product ingredients won’t put you at risk for chemical exposure. Sayed’s application skills rival those of any expensive salon in town, hands down - I've tried every fancy salon. Furthermore, Kaniz’s threading wizardy is art in motion. And both of them have the most calming and lovely chairside manners - absolute healers the both of them, though they’d never take any credit for it. There is also a full menu of beauty services they’ve added over the years. Really unique OPI nail color that I haven’t seen at the quickie-lube mani/pedi joints. I rarely get to treat myself and haven't been to a spa in quite some time. I lucked out when I got paired up with Margaret. I had a mini facial and spa pedicure. It was wonderful. Margaret has over 20 years of experience, a calming personality and didn't pressure conversation. I fell asleep during the pedicure! The ambiance of the spa is beautiful. For years I have visited this shop to buy gifts for people. Family and friends love the quality of the unique products they make and sell. My visits were also just an excuse to soak in the atmosphere. I always love how relaxed, inviting and peaceful the place is. But as a guy, I didn’t think about using any of the services myself. I have long, damaged hair that is coarse and unruly. I went in for a hair conditioning mask and I cannot believe how gorgeous my hair is! It air dried beautifully (I usually have to blow dry and straighten) with gorgeous fat curls at the end. I am hooked. This is now my go-to spot for hair care. It's just totally worth it. I've never seen results like this before, and I subscribe to two beauty subscription boxes. Plus, all the products are natural and vegan, reasonably priced, and they smell great! I'd recommend that you bring a scarf with you if you get the treatment. They mix up an incredible mask based on your needs, apply it, and then you can either stay for awhile and have them rinse it out, or go home and rinse it out. I chose to go home, which allowed me to leave it in for three hours, but it was a little weird walking out with green hair and a shower cap. A scarf would cover it no problem.

I had my first Lavender and Sugar Body Scrub recently. It was a treat to the senses - many aromas as well as touch - and very relaxing. This is not a massage - it's more like a facial for the whole body. The environment was peaceful and relaxing and the woman who did the treatment was kind and had a good quality touch. I enjoyed the facial so much that I added on a foot soak and massage! This review is only for eyebrow threading with Petra. I made an appointment one week earlier, received reminders via email, and came in 10 minutes early. Parking is scarce (only a couple of spots out in front street). My experience itself was fantastic -- I have never had anyone take their time like Petra did in order to make sure my brows were shaped EXACTLY the way I wanted. Once she shapes one brow, she has you check to make sure it's up to par before doing the other. She also let me use some brow powder to fill in before I left!

This holistic spa experience is the greatest. I never get to step in a place that dies my hair that does not smell anything toxic ir unpleasant. Every hair salin that dies hair always smells aweful and cause me to feel nauseous but not at Silk And Stone. All their products are natural and mostly all plant base so I do not smell any ammonia or Sulfur r or any toxic scent for that matter. It is a pleasant experience for me.

I came to Silk and Stone for a henna party and I am really glad that I did. My daughters and their friends and I all had a wonderful time, learned about henna and really enjoyed the designs that the henna artist did for us. As a woman in my 40's, baring my abdomen in public is not something I do easily, especially with some very recent surgical scars. I had an event to go to that the henna work helped me feel confident at. I got lots of compliments and the henna artist very cleverly incorporated my scars in the henna design. I would definitely go back again by myself or hosting or attending a party. It was a really lovely experience.

Fantastic if the owner Kaniz (Khaneese) does them. I grew my brows out 4months and finally went in. The owner, who usually does them for me wasn't in so I was seen by another gall who was super nice but she messed up my brows. 4months and they looked like "distant cousins" in my sister's words. I've grown them out again to have the owner thread them for me but when I called, I was told "she's out of the country for 3 months". So if you can catch the owner, she's HANDS DOWN THE BEST! if not, you are really asking for any regular old nail salon spur of the moment brow wax look-alike-job.

A wonderful place for henna. They use quality products, are very helpful and informative, and it's a beautiful shop. They make you tea while you are getting your henna. I never knew you could use indigo along with henna. Love this spa!

If you need wedding Mehendi/henna or you need anything pertaining to an Indian wedding, this is the place to go! Kaniz Shah was our henna artist for our wedding back in 2016 and she did an incredible job. She is going to be the artist for my sister's wedding as well. She is so kind and not at all judgemental. The rest of the staff is also really nice as well. Could not have had a better experience!

I'm a chemo patient whose hair is growing back out. I don't want any chemicals on or in my body, as I'm working hard to detox, and that includes hair dyes and makeup. I researched henna as a natural, plant based option and the idea really appealed to me. I used henna on my hair in college after a hair dye fiasco and got good results. However now? I have a lot of white hair coming in and was skeptical that henna could cover it. I went to Silk and Stone in Portland for a consult. A 2 step process was recommended to cover the white hair. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. 1) the color achieved is very close to my natural color AND 2) it completely covered the white hair! And WITHOUT any chemicals!!! I'm so opleased and a happy camper. Shalesa (that's the pronunciation, not sure of the spelling) has cut and henna'd my hair twice now. She's awesome!! :) The spa location is peaceful. Staff is wonderful. The owner is a doll.

Look, I am typically very difficult to disappoint when it comes to customer service. I've been working in the service industry for 17 years, and I don't dish out negative reviews willy nilly. In fact, this is my first one, ever. I want to give these folks two stars, but I'm throwing in an extra one so I don't totally screw their ratings, just in case I am literally the only person who's ever had a bad experience here. I get it - we all have bad days. Here is my experience, and you can judge for yourself how "bad" it truly was. I arrived to my appointment right on time, not a minute early, not a minute late... I was pretty impressed with myself. I was quickly escorted to a waiting area and given a slip of paper to fill out. I filled this out in under a minute and went up to the front counter to hand it to the person behind the register, who was on the phone. Another person intercepted me, said "you can just hang onto that, she'll be right out." I returned to the waiting area where I sat for 15 minutes without any further interaction from the plethora of staff members fluttering about. I mean, plethora. There were at least 4 (maybe 5) people on the sales floor, and more people who were presumably otherwise engaged in providing services elsewhere. One girl was filling small containers up from a giant tea bag, and looking either directly at me, or in my direction the entire time I sat waiting. One girl went from the phone, to talking to the girl with the tea, to a counter in the middle of the room. One girl fluttered about the sales floor talking to people who were looking at products on the shelves. And a man walked around intermittently, whose role I was unable to determine. I think there was another woman too, but I can't remember for sure, so let's just go with "at least 4 people" who basically ignored me for 15 minutes. Did I mention I had ALREADY booked an appointment? It's not like I was a walk in. When my service provider finally emerged, she was very polite and friendly. I don't know if she had anything to do with the sub par service out front. She did a great job on my brows, and they ended up looking as good as I possibly could have hoped for. She did, however, actually draw blood on one of them, apologized profusely, and told me neosporin should help it heal more quickly. So, I got an apology for that portion, but no one acknowledged the fact that my appointment was 15 minutes behind schedule, nor did anyone offer me the tea the other folks are raving about in these reviews. I hope my experience was just a one time fluke, but I won't be returning to find out.
