Their prices are higher than the regular stores at the mall but it is a cool place to walk around and check out the nice cool buildings there's a couple hotels around that that area and a Bass Pro Shop is right there too it's pretty cool place to walk around and Shop then you have the Adventureland amusement park right there you have about 10 or more Facebook buildings are huge and then you have the Amazon five story Amazon building I've heard I haven't been out that far yet

My friend and I walked in and instantly loved the vibes of the place, the workers were so friendly and sweet. Eager to help and find something we both loved. We spent 2 hours in there just having a good time and finding things. Definitely one of the best store experiences I’ve ever had.

This was my first time here and will not be the last. Great selection of places to shop. Would love to make a weekend of it with places to stay right across the way. Shopping dinning and the casino near by. What a fun get away this would be.

Great little outlet mall for a little" just me time", or some "one on one" time! Pop in for lunch with your amazing other half and take some cutesy pics together in the photo both, or spend the afternoon with the girls catching up and shopping! Plenty of indoor/outdoor dinning areas and plenty of common areas for relaxing and chatting. On cooler nights there is an outdoor fireplace to get cozy by. With major brand name shops, some unique shops, small food court, toy stores and small kiddie rides there's something for everyone! The outlet is very spacious with clean restaurants and bathrooms. There is a family restroom with a changing table and the cutest lille potty for the little ones! Stop by and check it out, you won't regret it!

I love the deep discounts at the outlet. It can get cold and windy at times. It's nice to have a place so close to get discounts on name brand items. I used to go to Williamsburg to get these discounts and now it's in my back yard.

It’s a nice place to visit for shopping specially on events like Black Friday, Christmas etc. because there are sales going on and you will get different popular brands at the same place. There are outlets of brands like Nike, Under Armor, Sunglasses Hut, Levi’s, and Tommy Hilfiger etc.

Good selection of shops. Not really shops that I would go to everyday, but that’s just me. It’s clean, spacious and modern. It’s nice to see the Des Moines area getting one of these. The Old Navy here is AMAZING and has amazing deals!

Not a great assortment of stores. I prefer going to a Tanger or premium outlet. Drove 2 hours to get here. For me just not worth the drive at all. The outlets are spacious and clean. Enough parking spaces.

Good atmosphere, good quality of stores in a nice layout. Like the way they have the inner courtyards with comfortable seating. Wish they were open later. Reccomend a visit to do some shopping.

Variety of stores open here so there are options even though not fully leased. Appreciated the local vendors market for the holidays and purchased from them as well.

The Christmas decorations on the plaza are nice to look at. Hearing some Christmas songs to go along with the decorations would have been nice.

Lots of stores all in one place. Better than any of the local malls in my opinion, although I'm not sure any of the stores are truly "outlets" so I wouldn't expect to pay any less than you would at the mall. However, the stores are clean and well stocked.

7/2022. It's an Outlet Mall really don't know how you really review it. Parking lot and sidewalks appears to be in good condition, day lilles and other flowers add a nice touch. As is the current economic trend there were a number of empty store fronts.

Very big Michael Kors. Handbags at 70% off. This is an excellent store to buy a gift for your mom, sister, wife, or anyone that just likes the brand. They even have a male section. The male section is very small compared to the rest of the store. The store is 95% targeted to women. The Vera Bradley and Kate Spade New York stores are targeted for younger female audiences. Vera Bradley is targeted for female teenagers and Kate Spade for females in their twenties. I would say to stores can be separated by female age group: - Vera Bradley - teenagers - Kate Spade New York - individuals in their twenties - Michael Kors - individuals 30 and up Still, there are some Michael Kors styles that cater females in their twenties.

Nice clean outdoor shopping. Allowing dog rule is confusing. In a few areas there are doggy waste bags supplied with no mention that the only dogs allowed are service dogs. A year ago we took our dog and was told to leave due to our dog not being a service dog. Other than that nice clean safe shopping area.

The Outlet mall in Altoona is a life saver. Gone are the days of driving 30 minutes to the nearest mall in a west Des Moines. Now we can pop over and pick up gifts in just minutes! Today we scored an awesome Under Armour Golf sweater for just $30! Yanked Candle & Bath & Body both have lots of options for great house warming gifts! Last month I needed a blazer for team Photos- I just popped over to the Outlets of Des Moines. Located Just minutes from Pleasant Hill and Ankeny!

This is always a great place to come shopping. They have lots of high quality options like under armor, nike, old navy, rack room, and lots of places to eat. Overall it’s one of the best places to go shopping in Iowa.

Beautiful store stocked with LOCAL products! The staff is very friendly, especially Madison. It's part general store, part upscale department store. The clothing is beautiful and high quality, the jewelry and accessories are exquisite, the housewares are filled with that perfect "just what you're looking for" gift idea, and the gourmet foods are delicious!

Went for the first time and loved it. They have multiple brand stores for clothing, eyewear and shoes. And importantly food with nice sitting spaces. I visited the Nike store, great discounts! Went to Old navy, absolute bargains! Tried famous footwear, fair discounts. Tommy Hilfiger has 50% off which lead to some financial mistakes, can’t blame them. It was worth it! Finished my spree with a good meal at teriyaki boys. Overall, great one stop place for worthy financial mistakes 😀😀

Love coming here. Each store has an online account where u can get rewards and stuff. If it isn't on location, it's on the web page. I really like the set-up, with the outdoor walkway and the store-fronts are placed aesthetically. Makes for a fun experience whether your inside or just hanging out. Restrooms are clean, store staff has always been awesome no matter where I am. Nice to see names like Express, Michael Kors, Coach, etc in the Des Moines Area.

They have something for everyone. We managed to hit 3 different stores and had a snack at Auntie Anne's pretzels. So personally I like it because there's always a sale going on in several different stores. The only issue I have with it is that I always spend more money that I originally intended to.

Well for me it was just another mall only thing that’s different is that you go from store to store outside, not the best places to shop especially during the winter and really hot humid days I’m sure that the owners like the fact that they don’t have to provide heating up a big building and everything else it costs like cleaning crews for the inside of the building. Well fun fun stay warm or cool during curtain times of the year and watch your pocketbook especially credit cards at also 30 %

Not a shopper. Wife liked it. Social distance is practiced and some stores had a line to get in to keep numbers in the store down. Not a long wait. Nice place and very clean. I did not have issue with any help in any of the stores. Friendly and informative sales staff. A little something for everybody. I checked out the hat and Jersey store.

Nice outlet mall with variety. Made purchases at multiple stores this round. Everyone welcoming in the stores we were in. They are currently closing at 7 pm - understandable, but just so you know and plan.

It’s great to have a mall near by. Took the kids to see Santa and it was awesome! The person they have as Santa was amazing he was so good with the kids. They give you a free picture and a digital copy. Even though they were going to be going on a lunch break they stayed to let my kids take a picture. So sweet and amazing. The shops have some awesome deals as well. We will definitely be returning.

Great selection of stores! I have a love hate relationship with it's outdoor/exposed design. I'm sure it's lovely when the weather is favorable but any other time and it's slightly annoying. Especially during winter. Good parking lot that circles the mall so that typically wherever you park you aren't too far from an entrance.

First time there and was surprised at the variety of stores/shops. It is an outside mall and it was pretty cold and windy the day we went, but plan on going back soon and definitely when it warms up!! Looks like a great place to wonder around and explore all the shop when the weather gets better.

Our family loves shopping here! The stores are wonderful. The mall is clean. It’s easy to find what you need. Overall, it’s a pleasant shopping experience every time we go there. It can get a bit busy during the high shopping times, Black Friday & just before Christmas for example, but the lines usually move pretty fast when we’re there. We would recommend this center to anyone...but we don’t want the lines to get even longer...

This place has a lot of stores with a wide variety of different products, and the stores are, in my experience, actually taking proper precautions for Covid. Sadly, cannot give 5 stars because the concept is so poor. Who though it was a good idea to take the outdoor mall idea from places where the weather is consistently nice and put it in Iowa, where heat and cold can easily make the experience of walking around the place unbearable?

Outdoor outlet mall. Best in spring, summer and fall. Quick trip in winter. Many empty storefronts right now which is sad. Stores are great. All have friendly staff, great value and restrooms are very clean. Easy interstate 80 access.

Pretty cool place with tons of stores that you don't see in regular malls. Parking is also fairly close and convenient. It has a big outdoor fireplace in the center and everyone who works there seems friendly. My only complaint is that some items are clearly not marked down, so do some research before making a purchase. But you can find some good deals here if you look around.

The parking was insane we went on the First Saturday which we expected it to be busy. My kids liked doing the pedal cars, playing mini golf, the stores are good very crowded but it will be worth to go back when things calm down. Their wasn't many options for food wise but maybe they will add something as things go along. Overall I would like to go back again and hopefully see some other stores open. Their was a lot of fun things to do on opening weekend my kids like the super hero

The occupied stores are nice, as are the brand new facilities, but there are still many vacant spaces. We went on a day that was slightly windy, but the walkways outside felt like a wind tunnel. I suspect I will enjoy it more when the weather is nicer and they have more tenants to make it worth the trip.

Only reason I came here was to visit the Pepper Palace for hot sauces. Aside from that it looked like a nice place. Outdoor mall, it was very hot when I was there. It has a good vibes to it. I grabbed my sauces and left. I stopped by mid-road trip because it was the closest pepper palace to Indianapolis.

Really nice the store selection is great. Only downside is it's pretty cold during winter and this is an outdoor mall. Too cold to enjoy walking around and with covid you have to wait in line outside to get in stores.

Good assortment. 1 store asked whether i was ready to checkout, even tho i had nothing from the store on me. I was carrying my own personal wallet which is their brand, so it may be possible they didnt notice it was clearly full of stuff. Bath & Body Works employees follow around the store too much. Within less that 5 minutes, 4 employees asked to help me. Spent no time telling them "no thanks" than i did shopping there!

Could be better. I like the open design, but having been to the one in minnesota, this one seems lackluster. It needs more stores, more eateries. I know this year has been rough on brick and mortar stores, but this one never seemed to get going from the start. I also don't think these stores are outlets at all, same pricing and merch as the normal stores.

Been here a couple times, lots of good stores and cool area. Really like that you can grab a beer and walk around the mall and drink it while you shop. Also Under Armour outlet is the best, this location has a lot of selection and love that they offer a military discount, as a company.

Decent layout once 'inside'. The parking and apparent lack of pedestrian crossing points left a LOT to be desired. Once more stores are added it might improve a little but they will certainly have to drop prices before anyone can realistically consider it an 'outlet' mall. Overall it's pretty underwhelming.

Looking forward to seeing the growth of this mall and the land surrounding it. We have fallen in love with the mall and the atmosphere it's owners have created. It's missing a few things like food variety/options but I have a feeling it will all come together in the near future.

My sister and I went last Saturday. My favorite was the Under Armour Store. 40% off store wide. I purchased a lot there. Also had a lot of great deals at VF and Vera Bradley. Yes, it needs other stores to open and it is cold with the wind blowing through it but overall I had a great experience.

Okay, it's just an outlets mall, so it's hard to get too excited about it. All the usual stores are there, and that's as it should be. But the one thing that sets this one above most of the others, is the abundance of nice comfortable seating spread throughout the mall. I'm not a huge shopper, so the wife does the shopping and I do the hanging out. Hanging out on comfortable furniture is sure a lot nicer than not having a comfy place while waiting. Kudos to Outlets of Des Moines for providing comfortable seating areas. They also have a huge fireplace where people can warm up. On the day of my visit, it wasn't cold enough to be lit.

The layout of the outlet mall is very nice. There are great Selections in the stores. The Under Armour store was for me the best store to shop in. They had the best prices for the best quality items. Some of the stores are pricey but I guess you'll get that with a mall overall it was a nice visit and I purchased a few things.

We Love this mall! It has all of our favorites in one location!! It also has a nice fireplace and seating area in the middle! The only thing it needs is a larger food selection and it would be perfect! It is outdoors so it isn't the best if the weather is bad!

Love having these outlets in Des Moines! I cannot wait for them to add even more stores. The layout is a little confusing but once all of the stores fill less dead ends will help. It's a cool concept, the "Outdoor Indoor Mall". The atmosphere instantly took me to Hawaii where these sort of things are commonplace. I like the variety of shops for the most part. The prices are a bit higher than they should be in my opinion, but I'm sure there's a great reason. Also, I went on a day when it was raining. There are some metal canopies over a lot of the walkways, but it doesn't stop(as Forrest Gump would say) "sideways rain."

Very clean,lots of parking ,great selection of brand name stores with some great sales.A good place for promotional or fund raising events.The only downside is that it needs more fast food offerings. It's conveniently located to nearby hotels,a casino, an amusement park, a state of the art movie theater and many restaurants.

I love the outdoor feel of this outlet. If you go on a really nice day it’s perfect. There is a great variety of stores and great deals. Check out Le Creuset for some quality cookware, ASICS for your running shoes and of course Vera Bradley for everything you never knew you needed. Great location and great deals too!

This is a nice outlet mall. You can tell it's all new and they are still waiting on some stores but it's still great. They had a band and food trucks which was cool. We also really like all the seating and outdoor fireplace. It's a nice little outing

The outlet is well maintained and very clean. The store selection, to me, is a mixed bag. Some are great stores and others that I'll never have reason or desire to step into. I honestly never feel compelled to just walk around there, merely just get what I am there for and leave. To me it does not feel like a destination, just another stop.

Restrooms we're also clean and family restroom available. Limited food choices as Terriyaki Boys and Charley's the only available sustenance. Also, Auntie Anne's for snack. All in all enjoyable shopping experience with variety of stores. I know more are coming. Will be returning.

It is well built for both rain & shine; to relax after shopping for hours in unbelievably comfy chairs? & Assuming that you can sit down after the sun has set with their "fireplaces" after a long day of shopping, grab a bite to eat & sit back & relax next to the fire. I love the wide variety of stores that they have to offer as well; Converse outlet, Nike Outlet, Oldnavy Outlet, Express Outlet, Forever 21 outlet, a variety of restaurants, a bunch of different book, movie & video game outlet stores, etc. Those are just ONLY a few to name out of plenty. Con: A better map system to show actually where the stores are located, is needed.

I don't like exposure to the elements like the sun. Also don't like it when it's hot, or cold. Has to be right between 69-73. When I went it wasn't in that range so it was difficult to enjoy myself. That being said, the abundance of shops made my visit astounding.

I am very impressed with this place . I just wished it wasn't so windy the day I went there. The outside walk ways turned into wind tunnels, on the bright side the stores are always warm and the staff of every place I visited friendly. I recommend taking a trip out to experience this place. Make sure and enjoy the outdoor fire.

Honestly was expecting more on opening day, some stores were not even open yet which was a let down. The parking was crazy, everyone going everywhere. It was a good atmosphere and made me feel like I was at an outlet center in Florida but without the hot weather and palm trees.

A great addition to the greater Des Moines metroplex! They have plenty of stores in this brand new shopping outlet. My personal favorite is their Nike store. Cant wait to see where they are by this summer. I can get all of my shopping at my favorite stores done and one place. Having a Nike outlet so close to my house is also another huge plus. Their food court is unique and have a cute sitting area outside. My only real complaint is this outlet mall sits in Altoona, why cant we give them some credit?! They are a up and coming town.

They had a booklet with some incredible deals. Although I didn't eat here it looked like they could use one or two more food options though.

Outlet malls are the way to go during a pandemic. It's pretty easy to social distance while walking around outside and the stores are able to make sure everyone is wearing a mask before they go inside. Very safe and enjoyable experience.

The stores they offer are pretty typical with what you'd expect in an outlet mall, but as always you have to watch what you're buying when you go to any of these outlet malls, because a lot of times the prices are not that great, and you can usually find better prices online. There are still quite a few empty spaces at the mall, which they need to fill with new stores that aren't really offered in the area as a rule, like H&M. And I could never emphasize enough that any mall, outlet or indoor, NEEDS to start offering more food and beverage options, currently their food court only has two options, and I think there is a small bar/restaurant, but that's it... if you want people to come to the mall, and actually stay, you need to be able to feed them and keep them there. Hopefully the mall and proves over the next couple years, cuz right now I'm not impressed and I don't need to go to this place unless I'm killing time for something nearby.

Love most of the store that are there! I would say all the staff at the different store were friendly. There were 2 stores that were just ok. Under Armor, we were not greeted (no biggy), my daughter politely asked one of the employees if they had tall sizes and the gal was snarky in her tone & answer " No only on line.". The toy store was another one. We were not greeted and the store was not busy (again no biggy), we were never addressed or asked if we were looking for anything in particular nor did we even see the employee except as we we're leaving. We were probably in there for good 15 to 20 minutes at which then the store closed. The employee dimmed the lights (again not a big deal) and then started counting out their drawer very loudly & intentionally plopping coins back into the register drawer, I believe as a hint that they were closed. So we put our purchases back and wished the man a Happy Holiday!

I really like how this outlet mall is set up and that you don't have to walk really far from one end to the other. They also have a decent food court area. I do wish that when they opened these outlets that they would have considered a greater variety of stores to differentiate these outlets from the ones in Williamsburg, IA, which are only like 2 hours away.

Went specifically for VF Factory. They do have some different stores with more to come! Nice not having to drive to the West side of Des Moines to get a few items! It’s ok, def need to add more stores and restaurants. Prices are not exactly what I would call outlet prices.. overall decent experience, except at the Loft. Incompetent cashier. They had a table in the clearance section all items marked down $6.88, and a sign that said buy get one free. Several other clearance sections marked but one get one free. I bought 4 items, she charged me for 5 and the items were not charged at the $6.88 price, my friend also was overcharged. We told her to fix the charges, she then proceeded to tell us those items were not marked correctly and they were in fact more expensive because they were final sale items. Each item had a sticker marked down for less than what she was trying to charge, she went and spoke with a manager but only refunded me for the 5th item I didn’t purchase and did not adjust the prices to what they were labeled, or honored the buy one get one free sign, instead she charged what the register said. THEY labeled items Incorrectly and falsely advertised but one get one free, for that I will not give them my business again! If you go there make sure and check your receipt.

FAST GROWING Outlets. When I first went last year, they had very few stores that I wold consider shopping at as a Gen Z who doens't like to spend money. But they are improving rather quickly - aka food court and F21 opening in the future. I personally think they need more hand warmers in the winter or having businesses handing out Hot Hands. I find myself jumping from store to store because I'm freezing.

The outlets have a good selection, but now it seems most "outlets" are just turning into a bigger mall instead of what they used to be. The discounts weren't plentiful (at least where we went - American Eagle and Old Navy) and the items are basically what you'd find at a local mall at similar prices.

Beautiful and clean strip mall that is well labeled which is necessary since you enter locations from an inner corridor. The outlet is misleading though since I have not found outlet prices at any store besides Carters and Oshkosh. Easy to access from the interstate and bypass.

I gave a four-star rating because there are still a lot of empty stores. However, when these stores are at full capacity, I really think this is going to be a great weekend destination mall (especially with Adventureland right down the street).

The fragrance place is selling products for full retail value only 2 food places, at many shoe stores you’ll be hard pressed to find sizes over 10.5-11, many stores are closing or have already closed down. Oh my GOODNESS! For so many years I had to drive to Williamsburg to shop the brands I love. Soo many trips! So obviously after the Outlets of DSM opened, I could not be happier. Such a great assortment of stores do always find great bargains. Just this past week they announced even more stores opening up this fall and some sooner. I about dropped my tea when I heard Kate Spade is opening! 😍 I’d also like to say how well maintained the outside shopping outlet is kept. Love the center fire places, grab a bite to eat while also enjoying the fresh air. It’s probably good that it’s about a 25-30 min drive!

It's nice to have some of the stores we previously traveled to West Des Moines for a bit closer to Ankeny, however it's just a mall. I'm not sure why people are loading up their families to go look around. Are you new to stores? Hopefully when we're farther removed from the opening it will become a more reasonable location to shop. For the most part the stores are standard faire for a mall. Yankee Candle, toy store, book store, outlet clothing, etc.

They had a great variety of stores but the way they have the one set up in Altoona IA, isn't set up very well. They have it set up like a rat maze. All of the right & left angles. LITERALLY. When blows, which is often it seems. When you go in there you feel like you've walked into a blast furnace only right now it's cold! You take 2 steps in & it blows your hair straight up from your head! Any other Outlet Mall I've been to in many states have all been arranged in a L or a U not all blocked off. They don't even have the entire ends hooked together. Those are so much better. I can't stand so much sand & dust in my eyes. I have heard these exact same complaints from a lot of others as well. It's really a shame that they have spent so much time & money for this particular Outlet Mall. If anyone from Iowa had any input on the final design, they must not have spent much time here. I would not seek shelter there from a tornado or straight line winds. I hate to complain, but it would be better to rethink & redesign. The location is in a great place. Altoona is growing fast! There is so much potential for that outlet! The only negative thing I have heard from friends & a lot of people walking through the mall.
