The place looks small, but it is pretty big inside. Not enough parking, but you could always find one. Food and service 5 starts. Everything in the menu is delicious. Make sure you're hungry because they served you enough food. I noticed everyone had a doggie bag to go. ( leftover) everyone is very friendly from the staff to the customer. If you visit, I hope you enjoy like I did. 👍🏻

Came here for the first time for Valentine’s Day. I must say the food we ordered was pretty good. We didn’t have a reservation, so we sat by the bar. The food prices for our orders was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place, and come back for sure.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Yonkers! I loved everything about this place and will definitely be coming back! The food was exquisite especially the Spicy Garlic Shirmp, it was my absolute favorite and I recommend it 100%, And the cocktails are also GREAT!! If you're looking to have a good time while in NY La Lantera is definitely the place to go!

I had been wanting to try this place for months after finding it on Instagram... I came in early on a Friday by myself to beat the dinner rush... I ordered 2 entrees. *Friendly, great service. *Complimentary warm bread. Food came out fast, fresh and super hot. Hands down the Rigatoni Lala Vodka was AMAZING!! 🥰 (addictive) Would definitely come back with friends to dine out on their outdoor patio!

I came on a Saturday for a 6:15 pm reservation. Hostess was friendly and sat me and my guest right away. Water for the table was served very quickly but that's where the quick serviced ended unfortunately. The restaurant itself is cozy on the inside and beautiful seating on the outside. Our appetizer of the spicy garlic shrimp was good. Very enjoyable. For my meal I got the ceasar salad with salmon. The salmon was overcooked and dry. My guest got the lobster ravioli and that was actually pretty good. I am not sure if the air conditioning was broken but it was faint which made the restaurant very warm. The service was slow and unattentive. Waiter never checked on us unless we asked. Felt as if we had to beg for service. However, despite all that went wrong I had a good time with my guest. So that made up for what went wrong. My rating is actually 3.50

Amazing experience here! The staff is wonderful and attentive. Never felt like I had to wait around for the person that was assigned to our table. The food was quick and absolutely delightful. We got the rigatoni lala vodka, risotto balls, lobster ravioli and chicken parm. The ambiance is good and calm. Can’t wait to come back!!

Best date restaurant in Westchester! Especially on their lovely low key outdoor patio. But they welcome families too and any size group at this part-Swiss, part-Italian eatery that’s off the beaten path. My daughter went Swiss and got the schnitzel with pappardelle. Delicious! I opted for Italian with a perfectly cooked Chicken francese. As you see from the pix, the portions including dessert are very generous. I don’t know why I had not heard of this place before, butt try I will be coming back. In fact they should rename La Lanterna, La Returna! Because once you visit you will want to return.

I must say I lived in yonkers all my life and never came across this gem until now. Very relaxed cozy feeling. My only inconvenience is that it opens at 3pm. Now food excellent, I order the ravioli meatball and I was blown away, service was on point always someone making sure if we were ok, some of the pictures in the website ate not exactly what they serve unless is a daily special. Price seems reasonable, I would of suggest to have a wine open for tasting, specially with the special wine they advertise. Hot sauce it should be a better variety or at least make a house hot sauce themselves for spicy eaters like my wife, Tabasco sauce too plain. We sat at the patio. The wife loved the music and the dessert to die for. I had the trio cannolie and the wife had the scores dessert with ice scream. New favorite place.

One of the better Italian restaurants in Yonkers. Portions are above average. I appreciated that I was able to get a table on Valentine’s Day and within two hours of making the reservation. Meatballs were good, pappardelle was good — the carbonara wasn’t good. Unfortunately, nothing was great. Sort of like an above average local pizzeria. The pappardelle: seems that from photos others posted: the pappardelle was in a more watery tomato sauce at one point and has since evolved into a red/pink cream sauce, which I prefer. My only dislike with the dish is that the whipped ricotta should be popped in the oven for maybe 30 seconds — thus, I didn’t like the clump of cold ricotta over hot pasta. The carbonara: It seems that this dish is using an Alfredo type sauce, I could be wrong. There was a funky aroma like burnt cream or maybe like a cream base sauce stored in plastic prior to service. I’ve had carbonara everywhere, this one missed the mark I must say. Seems to be more like a less creamy Alfredo with bacon cooked prior to adding the sauce. The Meatballs: surprisingly good when reading on the menu that they were stuffed with mozzarella — I didn’t see any mozz when inside when eating. So, unsure of that. I think the price was very high for this dish. If I’m not mistaken, I believe it was $19. Should be priced at maybe $14, tops. Service: it was ok, the waiter did fix a wobbly table, but that was upon request. I feel the tables should’ve been sorted before hand so that you do not inadvertently spill your drinks from the table moving. Further, the waiter didn’t ask if we wanted a refill, but that’s ok, ultimately it was a success. However, nothing to write home about. I’m giving four stars for the immediate seating on a busy holiday. I appreciate the owner asking each table how they were enjoying themself, and, the atmosphere is nice for a mom and pop establishment.

The food is superb. The service is attentive. The German/Swiss dishes like the schnitzel are excellent as are all the Italian offerings. The risotto balls, the buratta, the salads, the chicken Parm, the salmon, everything is beautifully prepared. I am allergic to shellfish, but friends rave about the frutti di mar, the seafood soup, the mussels and clam dishes. The flourless chocolate cake is so dense and rich. The tiramisu is one of the best I have ever had anywhere.

Had dinner with a friend today. It was my first time here. Everything was delicious! We got Caesar salad and calamari to start and I got the cavatelli as an entree. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I also got some zeppoles to go 😋

The food was surprisingly awesome! This was a recommendation from a friend and so we put it in the GPS and in the way we thought we entered the wrong address because it is located in an odd area. But we got there at 3:30 on a Sunday and there were lots of people already. The food was really amazing and we'll executed. The margarita pizza was so tasty (their sauce is really superb). Then we also got a fig prosciutto pizza that had some fresh burrata on it. As for the beer, they have some good beers, but it's not that they have a long list of craft beers from random breweries in the area. But they do have an option to drink from a boot!

Met family members here for cocktails and dinner. Nice bar area with a few high tables that If you choose you to you can have something to eat there. The Dining area is in back of the bar area. It is A lovely room which was quite comfortable. We had a party of 15 and called ahead for a reservation. The food was delicious. We started out with crispy calamari and then had pizzas, as appetizers. The pizzas were placed on top of large tomato cans which was ingenious. It kept the pizza above the dishes and gave us room to eat. The family ordered various steak, chicken, pasta and fish entrees. Everyone enjoyed their meals and then dessert. Staff was friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to go back for more good food at reasonable prices. There is also an outdoor garden for summertime dining. Parking available too.

We ordered the fried calamari for our appetizer because we got it last time and it was perfect. This time did not disappoint. It was perfect again. They nailed it. It wasn't chewy, it was crispy, crunchy, and salted to perfection. You could taste that the oil that they fried it in was clean and good. Very flavorful. I have to say that even the table bread was so flaky and crispy that when you break off a piece you should probably have protective eyewear on. It was flaking all over at me and my fiance. The freshness!

This place was amazing! We started with the calamari that was so fresh. Not fishy or chewy. It was soooo tender and the sauce was awesome. Then we had the Bass and Shrimp special. The shrimp were so perfect. Not over cooked. Best shrimp I've ever had. The Bass was cooked to perfection. The Chicken franchese was absolutely amazing. I would order it every time. Plates never stayed on the table very long. Great bussing service. Then we ordered dessert. We had the Tiramisu and the cheesecake. They were spectacular. I don't usually care for tiramisu, but this one was excellent. The lady fingers were fluffy and the mouse was scrumptious. Excellent flavor and hint of coffee. The cheesecake was an example of NY cheesecake. The latte and cappuccino were excellent with the desserts. Although we had to wait for those a while after getting our desserts. Then we were done and it was time to pay. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to come by and offer a check. Finally had to ask a busboy to get us a check.

Very cozy indoors, small spot away from it all! Has a nice garden feel outdoors. Great for friends, dates, and family. The white Sangria was Amazing! We had the Lobster Ravioli and the Pollo Caprese, delish!! Staff was friendly and attentive. Went on a Saturday, seems like it gets crowded after 6pm. Suggest making reservations for dinner. Will definitely go back!

The quality of the food is amazing, and the value is outstanding. The Barata appetizer with the fried egg plant is delicious. This was my first time here each entrée I have had has been great. I highly recommend this restaurant, and every time I am in the area this will be my go to place. Enjoy!

AMAZING! Cannot believe I hadn't been here before. We went for a birthday lunch on a weekday. There were 2 of us and we ordered 2 dishes and asked if we could spilt them, the chef split the portions on separate plates for no extra charge. The food was fantastic! Perfectly cooked and the flavors were so rich, I haven't had that good of Italian food in a long time. Since it was my birthday, the waiter sang, lit a candle and brought out a party hat. Dessert was on the house, very kind. Atmosphere was very quaint and beautiful. What a diamond in the rough, never knew this place was here and am definitely going back!

Pros: Great service Nice atmosphere Generous portions Cons: Food was good, but not great A little pricey Even though I rested La Lanterna 4 stars, I definitely still recommend going. Lovely outside space, good customer service. We were immediately served bread and butter, when we asked about olive oil/garlic/herbs dipping sauce we were informed they don't serve this but would happily bring us olive oil. We ordered the lasagna, the Ravioli and meatball and the parpadelle. Sounds delicious but was dissapointing. The lasagna needed more flavor, the portion was small for the cost $ 19.00 and the meat tasted a bit off. The Ravioli and meatball we're good except the sauce did not taste homemade. The parpadelle was the best dish of all. I saw many customers with pizzas so maybe this spot is best for pizza and the atmosphere. Not sure if I would go again since it was a bit pricey.

Celebrated my birthday here this month with a few friends. The outdoor patio seating was lovely, especially when the lights came on at night! The food was delicious and tasted fresh. We had the fried calamari, the meatballs, lobster ravioli, Caesar salad, and chicken scap. For dessert, the lemon sorbet and NY cheesecake. Everything was YUM. The service was wonderful. Made a reservation via Google same day, no issues, smooth & easy process. The staff and servers all very welcoming and attentive. Most importantly the food was Top Notch! Ordered spicy garlic shrimp appy, comes with half dozen large shrimp served on/in a hot plate. For entrees I had the Pollo Caprese, three tender breaded pieces of chicken under a bed of greens with sliced baby tomatoes and a generous helping of fresh mozzarella. Waitress came around with fresh parmesan cheese. The entree was delicious, would absolutely order again. Very large, but not uncomfortably sized portions. Cocktails well crafted. Food was so good didn't have room for desert, but I would highly recommend the desert if visiting. Outdoor area very nice, but too cold to enjoy last evening.

Visited on a Friday night for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The restaurant was really popular and filled with other patrons. Despite this, we were served very quickly. Staff were always available to help. Our appetizers came out in no time which we really appreciated. We had the burrata, arancini, vodka pasta, and lasagna. Everything was delicious. We will be back for sure.

They have indoor and outdoor sitting. The food and drinks arrived quickly, and our server, Daisy, was great (friendly and attentive). Everything was very flavorful. They have a parking lot across the street in addition to street parking. It's a bit pricey, but the taste and portion size make it worth the cost.

Good food, mediocre service. The home made Gnocchi that was served was literally just sliced potato dough, absolutely lazy on the part of the pasta maker...it was not shaped/formed at all. They charged me 26 dollars for freshly sliced dough(cooked properly in marinara sauce). I feel bad but the waitress could not even open a bottle of wine properly. Overall good experience, not worth the price though. Also didn't like how gratuity was included in the check - automatic 20%. I used to work in the service industry for 10+ years and that was not 20% Tip worthy service.

La Laterna is unlike any other Italian restaurant I have been to. The pasta is ALWAYS al’ dente, the sauces and pasta dishes are so delicious and complex in flavor that it really does feel like your eating Italian food in Italy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The cost may be on the higher side, BUT WELL WORTH THE MONEY. They’re outdoor dinning is very very charming with lounging sections for just drinks combined lovely outdoor lights and trees all throughout the tables. You really don’t feel like your in the middle of Yonkers!! Overall lovely total experience

This place was amazing. A true Yonkers hidden gem! I drove by the place so many times and always wondered what all the lights on the patio were? A restaurant with an Outdoor BEER garden.! Had the best Gnocchi dish ever. Definitely a house made made product that was made with love. Will be back with family and friends 100%. Kudos to all the hard working staff that show up to work during these stressful times.

First off, as a healthcare professional, it is good to finally see a restaurant doing outdoor dining with tables being actually spaced out. The food was amazing, I would strongly recommend getting a calamari as an appetizer, it was delicious and fresh. The food is a little on the pricey side, but the portions are large and definitely worth the cost. The service was very attentive with waiters even coming over to adjust our umbrella throughout dinner to help block the sun. The staff were excellent and all wearings masks. I would return in a heart beat!

Love coming here with my family. The food is very good, we have tried different things off the menu. There’s definitely room for improvement with their drinks though. The sangrias always taste watered down, and the piña coladas would taste a lot better if they were made fresh rather than using the bottled mix. Besides that I have no complaints. Food and service is great every time.

My friends L. and F. told me about this restaurant a while back. Always have a great time , food is very good and nicely presented , The management is always cordial. Wether indoors or outdoors we / I love it .. On one of my last visits I had the Schnitzel, was really good. !! Update since last visits 2/21 . I met the owner, who’s a nice guy. Turns out I think he said he is of Swiss and Italian decent, which explains the schnitzel style dishes. The last time in I had the “ Swiss potatoes “ absolutely amazing . There was a chicken / salad dish with pears entree, a woman across was eating . I heard her say “ this is good. So I ordered it .. yes!!!! Big hit for a meat and potatoes guy ... try the appies too .

We first saw this place from Saw Mill in winter, and couldn't wait for spring to check out their outdoor seating spot, which is great. Loved the food--even the salads are great, and the pasta is delicious. Celebrated my husband's birthday there and we reserved for 12 but had 15 come in the end. The restaurant was super accommodating, all food came out on time, very attentive service. Inside has a classier feel to it than outside, but without being too formal or pretentious. Great date spot!!

Loved the atmosphere outside and the food was amazing. The service felt rushed, and we felt ignored. Our waitress was busy, which I totally understand, but she had time to spend 5 minutes chatting up the 2 good looking guys at the other table. We felt like we were a bother. I think we'd definitely come back, but I'd make sure we got another waiter/waitress next time.

Lovely little place right off the highway. Restaurant is surprisingly warm and cozy inside, and the food is really good. The schnitzels are HUGE and very authentic (Jager schnitzel is my favorite) and on Wednesdays they've got a $9.99 pasta night. Big servings of delicious pasta for $10 a pop. We go at least once a month. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

The service was good. They never rush you. Easy drive from yonkers, that is. Food is pretty good and the portions are huge! They almost compare to family style restaurant s. In the summer they have the outside area which is awesome. The pretzel, which I found an odd hors d'oeuvre at first, was amazing! So soft and tasty and served with variety of sauces. Will def order it again....hope this helps my friends.

The food was very good. They have a huge outdoor seating area, although we opted for AC. They didn't have a full menu because of the covid-19 but it was still good. I had the schnitzel. That was the first time I had seen it on an American menu. Service was good. Will definitely go back again.

La Lanterna is a dependable & very comfortable spot but it's a pretty straight forward red sauce Italian restaurant, so don't expect fine dining. The burata and prosciutto appetizer is pretty good. There is also a short German menu - which I have never sampled. Great service.

I enjoyed the combined Italian and German fare. We dined inside and the tables were appropriately spread apart with barriers. The staff including waitress and busers were very attentive. Portions are huge and delicious. I asked if they could make me affogato for dessert and they generously did even though it was off menu. I would recommend making a reservation in future as it is very busy for both inside and outside dining. My only disappointment was that they were out of all white wines 🍷

What can I say... been there so many times and food, drinks and service is always amazing. My kids (and I) love the pizza, I would say that its the best pizza in Yonkers. The family type food service is my favorite because we all get to taste a bit of each of all the amazing food served here. Wife's favorite appetizer is the BURATTA E PROSCIUTTO, we always order one of this to start. Thank you for the amazing service and food.

Make a reservation online so you don't have to wait on that line. We ate inside and everything was super nice. But the most important thing was the food. By far the best Italian food I ever had. We been here about 5 or 6 times and I have never been disappointed. It's a bit pricey, but worth it.

Went to this restaurant last week for a gathering. We were a large party- the food was great but the service could of been a little better. Would return but the waiters should be a little more attentive of a table that has roughly 12 people at it.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. The restaurant has a cozy rustic but elegant atmosphere. They have an outdoor dining patio which I love. You can host parties and events here and they do a wonderful job! The owners and staff are amazing! But the Food! The food is so good!! You have to try the pizza, Paddy's Meatballs, Calamari Fritti, Spicy Garlic Shrimp, Sweet Pear Salad, any of the pasta Dishes, lobster ravioli are one of my favorites, the risotto is always so yummy, as well as any of the entrees but you have to try the Beer Garden Schnitzel! And don't forget dessert! Love, love, love this place.

I went there for my birthday I chose the place because it looked different the reviews I read looked good, different and it wasn't the chain type. When we got to our seat it not a really good place kind of away from everyone. They only had one dining room open. When we got the food it was really good. Well that's for chicken Piccata and I really liked it. I expected a lot more lemon flavor and it was more like gravy. I will go back someday.

La lanterna was great. The staff were very insightful and friendly. Their bread was delicious but when isn't it. We ordered a pretzel appetizer and it was hot and fresh. Please order this. The entrees were great we order a steak with roasted veggies and shrimp tortellini. Both were really good. The lime cheesecake was surprisingly amazing. I did order the zeppoles though and it was a major disappointment. They tasted like it was fried in oil with food. Plus it was too doughy. However it was a great date night with my husband.

I went for a special occasion with friends and I found that the food was pretty good. However, the waiters are hit-or-miss with the friendliness. They have a good selection of wine, but it does get loud in the dining room once it becomes full. Better come in the warm seasons so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather to make your experience better.

The pasta here is very good. The menu is pricy however. The service is usually pretty good. Sitting outside is nice enough except you’ll eventually begin to get bit by bugs given the location. The bartender inside was rude to us so I stopped bothering with that. The place is also easy enough to get to and you’ll get your food served nice and warm pretty quickly.

Solid but unspectacular. I have been here several times and the biggest asset of this place is that they are consistent. I go with a friend some Wednesday nights for their $10 pasta night which is a good deal, but the appetizers are overpriced ($16 for frozen calamari is excessive). I will continue to come back but really more due to lack of excellent Italian options locally vs. a true desire to come to this exact location.

Absolutely love La Lanterna Restaurant, my family and I come here all the time. The food is amazing the drinks are great, the staff is friendly. The place is decorated nicely, plenty of outdoor seating. The restaurant is a bit tight inside but definitely can work for a party of 6 (indoors), outdoors isn't a problem since the grounds are of a good size plenty of seating out there.

Came here for a quick bite after coming back from vacation. The bread comes with garlic butter in a cup, clearly a good sign of a classy joint. I had the tortellini which was delicious. Really nice atmosphere and quick service, friendly staff. This is definitely one of those hidden gems in Yonkers that people don’t realize is around the corner from their house.

This is our favorite Italian food restaurant because they make fresh cannoli on order. The service is always excellent. The owner was very sweet about keeping the rowdy table next to us a little quieter. We had mussels in white wine sauce, lobster ravioli, chicken chopped salad, wine, bread, and cannoli. All yummy. We love the lighting and the homey feel. Definitely recommend.

This is a great spot! Saw some great reviews and decided to give a try. So glad I did. The bartender was awsome and when I couldn't decide what to order she said I would be disappointed with anything. She was right! I ordered the pappardelle and couldn't have been happier. It is a true hidden gem - you've probably driven on the Saw Mill River parkway and passed by the restaurant several times, like we did. Once we tried it, we were hooked. We now dine at La Lanterna regularly and have celebrated several family birthdays (each time as a group of eight or more); everyone was delighted each time.

The food was okay. The zepole were great, though. I tried to reserve a table for 6pm and was told I couldn't, so I made the reservation for 5pm, but when we got there, the place was half empty, so I don't appreciate it that we had to change our plans. The chicken parm was good, but not great. The pretzel itself was great, but the cheese and mustard with it were okay. Kind of a mixed review.

We just went when they reopened after COVID and it was an ok dinner experience. A few things that fell off: we felt rushed the entire time: they took our order a few minutes after we sat down and our food was out in 5 minutes. Also the staff are wearing masks but they are wearing them inappropriately on their face, no gloves. We understand this is difficult for restaurants but it’s important to still have a good environment while you are eating. Maybe take reservations so you don’t need to rush tables?

It is easily accessible to the county trails for biking. The staff are quite friendly. They offer a few tasty vegetarian dishes as well as gluten free pasta. They work with groups to offer an affordable dinner and drink combo. I look forward to retuning there soon to try something different.

Just ate here. You'll forget that you are next to a highway. Lovely atmosphere (we ate outside), with music and lights. The pizza is out of this world. Amazing. I've been here twice with my family when I come to visit from North Carolina but they come here often. They have a nice mix of Authentic Italian dishes and some German fare too. The Schnitzel is on point, Bronzino is great, Gnocchi in cream sauce was actually better than my grandmother's but we won't tell her. Atmosphere is pleasant to dine in side or Al' Fresco. La Lantera is definitely one of lower Westchester County's hidden gems. Check it out for yourself.

Three words: Wednesday. Pasta. Night. I love coming here with friends for past night and there's also a bike path (South County Trailway) that is accessible from my home that spans from Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx all the way to the Cuomo Bridge. We have run and rode bikes to La Lanterna for lunch on the weekends, as they welcome bikers. The food is great, service is excellent and we always leave satisfied.

Everytime I go it's like a Taste of Italy right in my back yard. From the meatball appetizers, the Calamari, the specialty pizzas, and shrimp. That's just todays appetizers. Then risotto of the day my God. I dont even eat risotto amazing. Italian cuisine at is finest. A light Aperal Spritzer puts me back in Sorrento. The hot stuffed Zeppolis are a must I would post pics but we ate all the food.
