Beautiful waterfront restaurant with an outside cabana area and an outside dining area. Awesome view either way you decide. The staff was friendly and always smiling. The food was fresh and came out fairly quickly. The calamari was delicious and just perfectly cooked. It was served with a house marinara which was good but the aioli was to die for. We ate it with everything… our fries and on our burger. It had just the right amount of spice and was smooth and full of flavor. The lobster roll was fresh and tasted like the sea which is what I love. The burger was perfectly cooked and the egg was just right so when you bit into it the yolk just felt like velvet. Great place with a great ambiance.

The place is nice they have valet parking which is helpful. We waited for our food for a very long time so long they discounted it to half off. The waiter was very nice, the food was not good. My crab cake sandwich was so sad, but at this point I couldn’t wait any longer and I for sure was not sending it back. The tuna tacos were not good either. If there is anywhere else open with even a 20 minute wait go there first. If there is no where else to go then come here. Oh the nachos were okay.

Outstanding seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach. This place is top notch. Great service, geat food, and great atmosphere. Indoor & outdoor seating is available. Shrimp here are large and well prepared. Sides are delicious. Drinks well made.

They have valet parking so bring cash for them. They gave us options for brunch where we wanted to sit, outside when it's 50-60 degrees is not a good idea on the water, sit in the glass sun area, it was perfect! Ellie was our waitress and she was so sweet and kind! Best server ! Food recommendations: any crabdish, western omlette, shrimp and grits for sure!!! Really nice place right on the marina with fantastic views. We had the Sandbridge Seafood Pasta with the Alfredo sauce and it was the most delightfully creamy decadent pasta that came piping hot! There were delicious large portions of scallops, shrimps, and fish. The Oysters Rockefeller were also spectacular! I wish I got the dozen!

Sad to say the food looked amazing, and the staff was fast and friendly, but the fish and scallops smelled like ammonia. No Bueno. .50 cents for a tall glass. 14.00 for martini, but 13.99 for the best calamari I've had in a while. 1.00 for a broccoli 🥦 floret, 1.00 for a small scoop pureed potato 4oz. I guess I'll stick with drinks outside during the summer.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY! I'm a crab connoisseur, but the food here was just ok for the money! I ordered crab bites and 5 unseasoned small bites were $14.99! My daughter ordered the salad with chicken and hushpuppies, which were very good, but the salad was $17.98!! I also ordered a hamburger with crabmeat and provolone on top, which looked good, but was also not seasoned, so I seasoned it up at home and it was good. I know there is a shortage of crabmeat and it's more expensive then usual, but look at the picture of my crab bites; 1 of them wasn't even a spoonful! The server Savanah was very nice! We probably won't be back again because there are several tastier places out there!

The food was really really good, and we loved eating on their patio. The lobster and crab rolls were delicious, and so was the smoked fish dip. They have valet parking on site.

Great service, always above and beyond. Amazing seafood, she crab soup and cocktails! Quick convenient valet parking was available (it was Saturday). Lobster roll was good and loaded with lobster, but bun felt lonely and not finished. Other than tht, all good, I’ll be back again soon.

this place is just beside a marina... we got there and it was packed... you have a choice of indoor dining in the main restaurant or outside dining beside the marina... we opted for the outside dining... i read somewhere to request for sunset dining but learned that it didn't matter as you're not going to get a view of the sun setting on the ocean which i was expecting... you won't get that as the place is blocked by trees and houses... no sea or ocean in sight... okay let's start with the drinks as that's what usually the server asks first... when the menu says you are only limited by 2 of an item you get curious... so the wife ordered and man they were not kidding... she was alcohol induced blushing in a just a few... so i ordered the same as my 2nd drink... hahaha... the calamari is good... just normal regular calamari... maybe softer than what we've had so far in virginia beach... the shooting point oysters were probably the best oysters we've tasted anywhere... very sweet and briny... every slurp was just a treat... goes real well with the drinks... the only knock in this experience was the day's fresh catch... for the price i thought we were getting a whole fish or at least a significant portion bit instead we got like a fourth of a fish... it was not worth the money nor the $7 asparagus sides... i'll still give them 5 stars because of the other things i mentioned... we left still feeling good about the experience and the place... just don't order the fresh catch if you're price conscious and you'll have a perfect dining experience... cheers!

Came on a Tuesday around 5p - calm atmosphere and quick service. We got the She crab soup which was very thick but good. My partner got the sandbridge seafood pasta which was overly sauced but tasted okay. I got the crab cake dinner with their vegetable medley and fries. Sadly the fries were the best part. The vegis were one of those frozen bags which was cooked well but over salted. The crab cakes were flavorless and sadly the worst I have had in 3 days of eating crab cakes. They were only seasoned on the outside and tasted like they were made from store bought containers of crab rather than fresh. Very little filler but no flavor. Our waitress was kind but the food was lack luster and pricey. Won’t be going back for seconds.

One of my new favorite hidden gems in Virginia Beach. The best places are off the beaten path and this is one of them. Food is excellent and staff is very friendly. The Blackened tuna nachos were incredible. The cabana bar has a great vibe on s sunny day. 🌞

I was with a pretty big dinner group (70 yo B-day party) and the staff was awesome & very accommodating! The food was fresh and tasty, but your basic seafood fair not that that’s fair because you can only do so much with seafood. If you are in the city, definitely worth the stop!

Went during Restaurant Week 2023. 6 ounce filet and LARGE lobster claw (and more!), 3 course meal for $35. Good deal! Homemade Key Lime Pie, too! Great hangout during the summer at the Cabana Bar.

Went here with my family expecting a great experience and ended up being a very average experience. Pros: staff are friendly and service is really good. Valet parking is super helpful considering there isn't much available parking. Drinks are also really good. Sat outdoors in the swinging chairs which was very cool. Cons: None of the food is really anything to write home about. Although the food prep was good, whomever the chef was used little to no salt. If you are watching your blood pressure maybe this is a pro for you. If you like flavor, then this will annoy you. Had to send back a steak because the outside was burnt with a nice warm pink center.

The location is incredible. The wait staff is friendly and quick. We sat outside and it was beautiful. The food was even better. We had oysters Rockefeller, the spinach crab dip and hush puppies and all were great. We had Shrimp Scampi and a filet and we were not disappointed at all. Hope to get back before we leave.

Fantastic, friendly service and even better food! I loved the pound of crab legs, cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the lemon shallot vinaigrette on my salad of fresh mixed greens. Excellent views, too. Parking is tight-- consider valet parking or Ubering if coming during peak dinner hours.

No reservations necessary. Right by the water in the local marina. Outdoor and indoor seating. Very popular and busy at the time we went for dinner , around 7 pm. Quickly seated where we asked. The food was great. The service was a bit slow due to kitchen load, which is understandable. The waitress was pleasant . Highly recommend.

A very pleasant restaurant a few blocks from the oceanfront at Rudee Inlet, next to the marina. Their outside dining is quite nice with a patio off the restaurant and covered glider seating at the cabana. We had good service and delicious food. My tuna nachos were excellent. We came for lunch on a weekday when they were not crowded.

This was my second time here, the food is GREAT and the dockside seating is fun for individuals or families. The wait staff was been very attentive and accommodating. My only area for improvement would be the rest of the staff, you have to find what area the restaurant is using for as the host station (at the cabana or in the main restaurant). Both time I've been there I had to search for the host and the other staff members offered no help, I had to ask what to do after standing for about three minutes. Other than that, a very nice place and I will be back when we have people that visit us.

I stopped in for early dinner. Natalie was my waitress, and she was a pure joy. My food was really good. They give you generous portions, too. This may sound crazy but the seasalt hand scrub in the bathroom was the highlight to top off my visit. I had to ask the staff what it was.. to my surprise they retail it..so I bought a jar. I'll be back for the shrimps and the scrub

Oysters Rockefeller and sweet potato fries were amazing. The broiled seafood platter was plain and overcooked. Everything else everyone ordered was good specifically the soft crab sandwich. Our server was nice. We will probably be back again and would recommend. If it wasn't for my seafood combo and the veggie sides that came with it not being good I would have gave 5 stars. We also got a dozen oysters on a half shell that were fine but need to be on a bigger plate or two plates, so the don't have to stack them on top of each other causing the shells to break of a lot into the oysters.

First time at Rudee's and we loved it. Went for lunch and they weren't real busy, which was great for us. Our server, Brennan, took excellent care of us. Ordered oysters Rockefeller, smoked fish dip, and she crab soup. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back when we're at the beach.

Really great food and great service. Off the strip but an easy walk form the end or if you drive up they will park your car. Food was excellent. Steamed shrimp was great and the fish specials were awesome. Overall reasonable price for the food. Service was very good. Busy but lots of outdoor and indoor seating

Love the location. So much fun and the outdoor bar and glider section is great! The menu is a bit stale and needs some updating but there are some definite fan favorites! Tuna Nachos! Yuuum! . Have been going here for 30 +/- years and will always like coming here.

Rudee's is located along Lake Rudee in the oceanfront area of the city. They are pretty much at the corner of Winston Salem Ave. (can access from Pacific Ave.) and Mediterranean Ave. My most recent visit here was on January 31, 2021, which was the beginning of the 2021 Virginia Beach Restaurant Week. When you come up to the place, it reminds me of a view like a fishing village. There is seating available inside, outside and on an outside patio looking over Lake Rudee. The weather on this visit was not ideal for outdoor seating, so all seating was indoors for this occasion. Once we came inside, we were immediately greeted and seated. We ended up getting seated at an area inside looking over the patio and Lake Rudee, so it was a great view, even though the weather was not as good. At the time of this visit, Covid protocols were still in full effect. Masks required for everyone and could only take them off while seated at the table. They did a good job of socially distancing the tables as well. After being seated, it took a little while for our server Zach to come to the table. It was no big deal as it was steady busy in there, but they did seem to be understaffed, which has been common in restaurants this year. He asked us what we wanted to drink. Shortly after, we got the drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We knew what we were getting already, as we looked at the 2021 RW menu ahead of time. I went with the she crab soup as the appetizer, followed by the crab cake dinner as the entrée with fries and applesauce as the sides. My mom got the shrimp dinner with red potatoes and potato salad as the sides. A few minutes after ordering, the She Crab Soup came to the table that I chose as my appetizer. The She Crab Soup was really good. It is definitely one of the better She Crab Soups I have had over the years. About 10 minutes after that, the entrées came out to the table. The food came out hot and looked really good. In the end, the food was great for both of us. The crab cakes were awesome and so were the shrimp that my mom had. The last course as a part of the restaurant week was the dessert. For the dessert, I went with the Peanut Butter Pie, which was great. Overall, this was a very good experience. The food was great. They have lots of seating, lots of options to choose from the main menu, and they have a locals special that's valid year round. If you're visiting the oceanfront or want to get away from a bit of the crowds at the beach, take a quick drive here for a good lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back myself.

My group sat on one of the gliders, which is always nice. I had the lobster roll and fries. Delicious. Our waitress was great and so were the additional staff that helped bring dishes out to the table.

Everything was great, the food, and service. I feel sorry for the staff that had to walk around in the heat and humidity we could barely breathe without a slight breeze outside as it was! The Oysters Rockefeller’s steamed were good and crab legs cooked perfectly too. The “glider” tables were fun to rock back and forth at your leisure while we ate. If you get a chance go on the Pirate Parasail it was an awesome experience and what brought us here for lunch!

Wow!! That's all I have to say about the service and this restaurant. Kaylie was absolutely outstanding and had extensive knowledge of the menu and offered items that she thought would be pleasing. She delivered appetizers and entrees like she cooked everything herself and thoroughly seemed like she was enjoying her job. I can't even take off a star for a little bit of sand in the scallops because, that's how I knew they were fresh from the sea. Fabulous job Rudees!! Can't wait to return for my next vacation!

My friends and I had a great time at Rudee's. To begin, the She Crab Soup was amongst the best cream of crab soups I have ever had. The oysters were OK and the crab cake dinner was pretty good. Our server was also awesome. I will certainly be back to try some more the next time I'm in Virginia Beach.

I had dinner here for the first time this evening. I got the fried oyster sandwich and the wife got crab legs with a bowl of she-crab soup as an appetizer. The hush puppies are very yummy and they put corn in their batter mix. All in all we enjoyed our dinner very much

I highly recommend the scallop dinner. As you can tell from the pictures, they serve about 10-12 BIG scallops. That's never happened to me before. The half dozen oysters on the half shell were a table favorite. Hannah was great and even offered some insights as a local.

The hush puppies are amazing, more like corn fritters. The calamari was very good as well. My fresh catch flounder sandwich was ok. The tartar sauce gave it flavor but the bun is so so. Fries were great though. Crispy and tasty. Great service too from Tara. Steamed shrimp was mushy. All in all it was ok. As locals that enjoy quite a bit of seafood during the year we expected more. Try it, you never know if this was a one time issue.

We've been going to Rudy's for over 20 years now. This was the worst. Service was good, but the food has taken a downward turn. The sea crab soup was inedible, too salty. We both had tuna ordered mid rayor. It was cooked perfectly mid-rare, but because of the thinness of the cut, it seemed dry. Hard to do. The other meals were just average. This is always been a place that was fun to go and served great food. The phone is still there as is the friendliness, but not the rest.

Living in Virginia Beach over thirty years ago I am not sure how the wife and I never visited Rudee's before but on a recent visit we gave it a go and were supremely satisfied. Service was excellent, food and drink selection was wonderful, having a local brewed beer was a plus. Totally enjoyed a night out with my wife in the city where we were married and visit as often. We will be back, thank you for the wonderful dinner.

THE BEST restaurant at the oceanfront.. hands down. I have always enjoyed dining here and the service is consistently amazing as well as the food.. the she crab soup is perfection👌 It doesn't get much better than sitting at a glider table with friends, drinking a signature cocktail and looking out on the inlet. Pictured is the buffalo chicken sandwhich with sweet potato fries, my favorite thing on the menu. (Some fries are missing cause I was too excited to wait).

This restaurant on the boat docks on inlet has a variety of seating options, outdoors either at the bar, or in glider type seating, or tables or you can go inside which also has a variety of seating. But the best is the food .. excellent... reasonably priced. Service great!!! Seafood, beef and chicken..

Eat at Rudy's twice this week. Loved it boat time. They have great specials that start at 5 o'clock for $11.99. Today I had the lobster and it was outstanding. My wife had the she crab soup and it was awesome good. We shared the crab dip. Will be going back tomorrow for the prime rib.

I loved this place! The food and scenery were great! The staff were friendly and kind. My husband had the surf and turf...the portion was so big he couldn't finish it. We will definitely be back! Sitting by the water after a long beach day to enjoy some amazing food is a great way to end.

We come to Rudees every September when we visit Virginia Beach. The cabana tables are relaxing. The servers are friendly. Everyone is wearing a mask. I got the crab cake sandwich with broccoli and mushrooms. The presentation was impressive, and everything was tasty. Definitely a highlight of our vacation!

The food is fantastic. As the weather gets warm the outside seating is highly sought after. There's an outdoor bar as well as picnic tables that rock/ sway with a cover. The staff is very busy especially on nice days, so be patient, the food is worth it. They also make great drinks at the bar.

Ok. Its was Very busy on a Saturday night. Free Valet parking. The cabana area was full and had a very long wait time. There was available seating inside and also on the patio in the front which is first come first serve. We chose to sit on the patio because the weather was nice and cool. Prices about the same as everywhere else. The grilled swordfish and flounder were tasty. Would recommend

Went there with 3 adults and 6 kids aged 4 to 11. The food was good, but for me it would not be a destination restaurant. My wife got a crab cake sandwich and my bro in law a crab roll. They seemed to like their food. I got a pulled pork sandwich since I'm not into seafood. It was good and the fries were really good. Service was slow but it is understandable. Just like many other businesses these days they were short staffed so I have no complaints.

We like this place. Repeat guests. Ordered a fish dip for an appetizer and it was super dry with no taste. We were starving so we mixed it hot sauce from the table and ate it. The rest of the meal was delicious. However watch for substitutions cuz they upcharge 1 to 2 bucks.

We went during the week for lunch. All the seafood was delicious. Fresh blackened salmon, broiled scallops were perfect, fried fish, fried scallops, fried shrimp, good hush puppies, even the vegetables were tasty. Was more expensive, but the quality was worth the cost. Outdoor seating was right by the inlet, watched boats come and go.

Stopped in twice during a weeklong vacation. First time got rained out but the staff was awesome and accommodated us as best they could. It made for a very memorable evening for the kids. Second time was to kind of say thank you, and again, the staff was amazing.

Had probably one of the best Eggs Benedict in my life! I got the seafood that included shrimp, scallops, and jumbo limp crab meat. It also comes with Surry Ham that i don't eat. Also very good she crab soup! Had great service as well with a wonderful view of the inlet!

I had dinner here with a party of 9, we had a good time. Valet parking was great. We asked if we could sit in the gliders but we were denied because they apparently only sit parties of four or less. They proceeded to allow a party of 8 to sit in the gliders right next to us... Besides that, the food and service was great. My friend loved her backfin burger.

They serve fresh flounder, scallops, crab, the shrimp comes frozen but taste fresh. There was people next to us that ordered filets that looked good too. I highly recommend Rudee's.

When my friends come to visit Virginia Beach I take them to Rudee’s for dinner. You can sit by the water, or sit in the swing! Great breakfast spot too. Can’t beat it!

Had the 1 lb. Lobster on Tuesday. Was a great deal, like $11.99 for the whole lobster (crack and eat), two little red potatoes and a vegetable medley. It was great, visiting from out of town. Had the friend Calamari appetizer with both dipping sauces I like the spicy marinara meat, not really spicy. My son had the seafood tortellini, very good, large seafood bites, the shrimp and scallops very tender. My lobster roll, not so thrilled with, toasted bun w/ cold lobster, hot drawn butter. I would of rather had the lobster on a plate. The Shecrab bisque was the best, mmm, delicious and creamy.

Food portions are sizable, I haven't had anything notably bad happen regarding my orders. Show up early and get a swing chair, they are comfortable and definitely add to the experience. The Cabana bar and the interior restaurant are nice, normal Virginia Beach fare. Staff are usually friendly and serve you well.

Fantastic food and even better service! Our server Dana was absolutely amazing, she gave us great recommendations for drinks as well as informing us of the specials for the day. Although she did seem busy and did not check up on us often, (I actually like enjoying the meal and drinks without being approached every few minutes so I enjoyed that.) when she did check on us she was always courteous and super friendly. Amazing service, great food, and awesome drinks! I personally recommend the Pineapple Mule and the Hush Puppies. If you want a STRONG drink and plan on taking an Uber or Lyft home, go for the Ruckus.. otherwise, it's almost pure alcohol but delicious once you get a bit tipsy!

Great food at a great price. I usually have a problem with visiting restaurants by the water or in a beach area because usually their food is very bland and not that good. This place is one of those exceptions. While the food isn't something new and profound, they do a good job at serving quality food. One take is that I wish they explained what mudworms were before we ate the oysters, so we didn't have a mini freakout. As someone who has had oysters before, I never had the experience to see mudworms in them. Take note, they're completely harmless and very normal. The service was good and we had no problems with our waitress. The wait also wasn't that long, considering it was lunchtime on a Saturday, and we had a sizable group. Overall, Rudee's is a solid place to eat at and definitely better than a large amount of other restaurants and food dives by the water or by a beach.

I ordered a basic dish of a hamburger and it wasn't that great. It was supposed to be topped with crab meat but it had about a teaspoon sized amount on it. I was with 8 other people and our group overall had mixed feelings on the experience. My family and I ate here for the first time and loved it ! The staff was so friendly and gave excellent customer service. The seafood was beyond delicious if that’s possible. This place is a great hidden gem. We go here at least twice every time we go down on vacation. The meal never disappoints and the Rudee Ruckus is always one of our favorite drinks! The fresh catch of the day was fantastic and so was the fried flounder sandwich! My wife loves the crab dip and the atmosphere is one of a kind for sure. The swinging tables are really cool and if you go late enough you can see some of the charters on what they caught! I highly recommend this place and next time we are down there we will be back!

Let’s start from the point of pulling on the parking lot… Valet parking! And for me being disabled those steps saved was wonderful. We were seated very quickly and Noah took such great care of us. There were 3 in our party. We ordered 1 catch of the day, 1 shrimp dinner and 1 scallops dinner. All 3 dinners came with 2 sides. We sampled each other dinners and we couldn’t decide which we liked more! All was so good . The service was speedy also . In and out in 65 minutes! Great atmosphere! Great service! Great food!!! Great place to dine with a date or friends or as a family. We will definitely be back!

Lovely experience! There was a bit of a wait for a table outside, but we were able to go to the bar and have a few drinks to pass the time. Rudees is right on the marina which is beautiful. The food was great! I especially liked the clam chowder. I'm use to Boston style but this Rhode Island version was equally delicious with a little kick of spice. My husband got the catch of the day which was spotted trout. Definitely would recommend for a special occasion or when you have guests in town.

The only downside was the wait time and how slow they were at cleaning the tables to get the next group seated. Our waitress on the other hand was great. Absolutely totally impressed. As naturally I checked my reviews before I eat food or even go to the restaurant. So upon coming in I ordered an orange crush drink that Virginia is known for. From there I went straight for the raw oysters which were so tender and fresh, naturally I had to try but she crab soup oh my goodness it was so delicious let me tell you very creamy not overly creamy plenty of crab meat in it very impressed. Then after I ordered that for my appetizers I went straight for the main meal and this young lady named Gabriella / Gabby very very knowledgeable very very polite very nice and very professional she was just a gem. She was so helpful she talked me into the blackened tuna at a medium temperature. It was so tender and the complemented I had some sweet potato cross cut fries and some asparagus Al dente they were baby asparagus so long story short if you haven't tried this little gem heading over in a corner down and Alley you are definitely missing out. Come to Virginia Beach you have to try Rudees. Thank you Gabby for a beautiful experience. God bless you and hope they keep the quality going as it is totally satisfied 🙌🙏❤️

Visited earlier this week and had a carry out order for lobster roll and fries. Was not expecting excellent lobster roll (like you might find in the northeast) and certainly did not receive it. The sandwich and bread was cold. The bread was a plain piece of toast with generous portion of cold lobster. The fries were cold and did not receive any ketchup either. Staff was nice and friendly and order was done in 10 mins but I was disappointed in the quality. This is my second or third time trying this restaurant over the coarse of several years and never been happy with food quality. Do check your carry out order before leaving the restaurant!

Amazing food, I just couldn't stop eating. Our waiter was fantastic and was great with our large party. Even the kids enjoyed the food and the waiter was so patient with them. The lightly battered and fried local shrimp where great as well, my only issue was that th slaw had what tasted like celery seed in it and that made it not taste very good, but other than that very good. The gliding dinner tables where very interesting, they where relaxing while gliding before dinner arrived.

Shrimp are great. Definitely fresh. Crabcakes are sweet which is not my favorite, but there is no filler. It's ALL crab. The vegetable medley was not my favorite, so I didn't eat it. It's on the pricey side and there are better options for the money. The outdoor seating has a nice atmosphere and the tables glide... if you're into that.

Oh my goodness! I don’t know where to start. I have been in this area 2 weeks in the last month. This is by far the BEST service and the BEST food that we have had in the entire two weeks. The crab cakes are delicious! The fried shrimp is wonderful! Our food came out hot! Even the kids said, moma, our fries are hot! But the service was just as good as the food. Clean inviting restaurant. My husband and I went this evening and had dinner. Nothing to write home about. The pulled pork sandwich was dry and the shrimp tacos were very disappointing. Each soft shell taco has 2 deep fried shrimp on top of some lettuce and diced peppers,covered in melted chedder cheese. Served with white rice and a black bean sauce, which was actually good and some salsa. I would have expected more then 4 shrimp,maybe a nice slaw and some lime for 14.99. I may try again, but not from the area and visited the many other restaurants in the area that were 5 star.

This place was so good we went two days in a row!! The waitress we had the first day came over the second day to talk to our toddler, which made his day! The bang bang cauliflower and hush puppies are great apps, the burgers were great as well as the broiled seafood platters. We will definitely be making this a regular spot for future vacations. I highly recommend the scallop dinner. As you can tell from the pictures, they serve about 10-12 BIG scallops. That's never happened to me before. The half dozen oysters on the half shell were a table favorite. Hannah was great and even offered some insights as a local.

I ordered a filet mignon meal, cooked medium.The steak arrived with 5 asparagus spears that were stringy and cold. 4 ounce ramiken held approximately 3 ounces of cold instant garlic potates.I asked for steak sauce and was given an empty bottle TWICE. The ice tea came at the end of the meal.The meal cost 29.99 +2.00 asparagus and 3.00 for tea. It was the WORST place/meal I have ever eaten..The prices for the quality is ridiculous. Next time I'll take the cruise and go to a REAL restaurant..

This spot is so cute for a date night or a family meal! I highly recommend going for the earlybird special between 3:00pm and 5:00 pm. We had a delicious two course dinner of filet mignon at an incredibly reasonable price. Best way to do a date night on a budget!

Arguably one of the best authentic seafood restaurants in the Hamptons area! Ate outside in the Cabana 2x in a row at diff times; both experiences were beyond satisfying. Can vouch personally for the Carolina Jumbo Shrimp, but DO NOT LEAVE until you and your party have tried the Crab Bites appetizer...omg! Very fresh and just the right size. Good bar drinks. And if happen to get 'Becca' as your attendant, well your meal is golden!

Cabana seats are fun and the view from them is great. Pricey. She crab was good and did could use salt but it's a fun place and feels fancy but homey. Locals spot for drinks It's always busy so expect slow service. Valet parking or spots on the road.

This is a must hit if traveling to the area. The famous Oyster’s Rockefeller were as advertised, the She Crab soup was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal, I had the soft shell. Great kid’s menu choices too. The outdoor glider booths were also pretty cool. Valet parking was free, tips accepted of course.

I had blackened tuna that was actually some of the best I've had. Shrimp were over done and hard to peel. The calamari was ok how ever the sauce was very good.

This place was so good we went two days in a row!! The waitress we had the first day came over the second day to talk to our toddler, which made his day! The bang bang cauliflower and hush puppies are great apps, the burgers were great as well as the broiled seafood platters. We will definitely be making this a regular spot for future vacations.

This place is great a small restaurant right by the water. The service is great and if I’m around the area will come back. I got the crab cake sandwich it was decent,but if you want the best crab cakes head to Maryland. Still love the place and will come back. P.s. If it’s windy don’t sit outside you will be caught holding everything down with your life. Still a really nice place.

We enjoyed the food here, only the wait stuff could be more creative and welcoming. They have two different sections to sit, once we went to one section, we were directed to the other one, being told we would sit right away, unfortunately that was not the case, they had no idea if the other section really had a table for us. In the end we were able to sit within half an hour, not much of big deal, but we wish we were told honestly that it would take some time to sit. We shared couple of starters, all turned out to be very very tasty. We were two families with kids, kids, kids loved the chicken tenders and the kid’s shrimp. Lobster rolls were good, not great, but still very fresh!

Hands down the best restaurant on Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The food is fresh, well prepared, with spot-on flavor. The key lime pie is the perfect must-try to finish off your meal! Was not too impressed overall. We came here with a party of 4 on Sunday around 1130am. It wasn't overly packed but there was quite a long wait time for our table. Our server was very nice, and the food came out quickly. For the prices we all felt like our meals were a bit small. My girlfriend ordered her tuna burger medium with some pink inside, and it came out well done/charred. My lobster roll was good but it was small, and there wasn't much fries on the plate. I probably wont be coming back here.

Very good food. The hostess was a bit of an airhead, but good food! My husband and I shared a seafood combo plate. He enjoyed the crabcake very much and we both enjoyed the shrimp, scallops, fish, and hushpuppies. He doesn't care for hushpuppies but he liked Rudee's! The veg wasn't wonderful, but we got stuffed on the rest. We would go back if we ever visit the area again.

Great place. Good waterside atmosphere. Nice menu. Wonder place set back on the water in the Rudee inlet area. Service was spot on from the Valet to the hostess and waiters. Inside or out the seating is great. I can't give it 5 stars because it was obvious that some of their seafood was not as fresh as they claim. But good for none the less. Call ahead to see if there are long waits or show up and spend your wait at the bar which is great as well.

My friend and I went on Sat about 5pm attempting to check off hidden gems from our restaurant list. The hostess, a young girl, seemed as if she didn’t want to seat us. Stated we would be first on the list but the other side may have seating. We decided to wait for the outdoor seating since we were 1st on list. Which we ended up waiting all of 2 mins. Then she stated if it started to rain she would not be able to seat us at all. It started raining & when the waiter brought our food.. he had an umbrella to walk the plate to our table leaving the other plates open to the RAIN.. 3 times he walked back and forth while our food got wet. The tray of food he placed down about 6 feet away. The waiter was nice. The crab spinach dip had NO seasoning.. & the crab balls were mediocre at best. Finally it started to pour down raining .. wind blowing etc & the hostess sat a table of 4 right next to us after all .. I’ll give them another try for location & drinks only

This was our favorite restaurant in Virginia Beach. Our waitress Hannah was very knowledgeable about the menu and so sweet. The drinks tasted amazing and refreshing. My husband ordered the lobster and said it was great. (He is still talking about week later!). I ordered a fried flounder sandwich. It was the best piece of flounder I've ever had. In our opinion, it's a must try! We plan on doing back next time we stay in VA Beach.

Nice view of the boats in Rudees Inlet. Place was clean and service was good considering how busy they were. We tried the lobster roll and flounder sandwich both were really good. Also tried the hush puppies which have corn in them. These were excellent and so were the fries.

Our first visit to Rudy's was last summer on a college visit with our youngest. We decided on a special date and Rudy's was the place recommended. Rudy's was a huge success! We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It was so fun sitting outside while enjoying the fresh food. We liked it so much we made Rudy's a priority when we came back on vacation this spring. Service was sub par with a party of five tjere was no pre bussing of the table and we sat woth dirty dishes at the end of our table. Server checked back only once. Went with family 2 nights of our vacay. Wasn't a bad time and the food wasn't bad not my favorite of our dinners. Menu was too limited. Needed a few more options for the non seafood eaters. I had a buffalo chicken the first night and it was really good. The next night we were there I went for a cheeseburger, sadly the burger was just bland and the Kaiser roll it was on just fell apart on me. I wouldn't return by choice. However I believe about half of our group really enjoyed the food. May have just been me. Also note this place has valet parking.

I'm a fan of Rudee's. They have a great location on the inlet with some beautiful views and awesome outdoor patio seating. Parking is an adventure but you can either try to find some yourself or choose valet and let them worry about it. The outdoor bar area and the bar itself are super nice and I love their swinging picnic tables if you sit outside. They have some seriously delicious shrimp on the menu and their tuna burrito is one of my favorite things, it's huge and packed with deliciousness.

The food was delicious. Highly recommend the she-crab soup! The service was great! The waiter checked on us throughout our dinner and was super attentive. A van was parked in front of the window so we could not see the marina (bummer); in retrospect I would have asked for a different table but, the meal made up for it! We went early in the evening (5-ish) so parking was not a problem later might be a challenge. I would definitely make reservations during the busier hours. Must call before 5pm to reserve.

Great ambience and service. The food leaves a lot to be desired! The minuscule piece of tuna seemed as if it has just been taken out of the refrigerator rather than freshly prepared. The burger was over-cooked and the rice that accompanied the fish tacos was inedible. The breeze coming from the water and the tranquil atmosphere made everything worthwhile!

The cabana bar was nice. Best part was the service! All the cabana bar tables are independent gliders, so you can make your table back and forth. The boats on the dock surround the area, so you can't really see the water. The food was good, but more like 3 starts. I had a chicken burrito and my husband had blackened swordfish. Glad we decided to eat here. The food was delicious. The drinks we tried were very good and the gliding tables added a cool little extra touch to the dining experience. There are a few tiny things about the food that lost them the 5th star. The butter for the hush puppies was little pats of butter so very hard to apply. Wipped honey butter would be way better or just butter in a cup would work. The broccoli came as one giant bunch which tasted very good once I was able to get it cut into manageable pieces. This was difficult to do without pushing the other food off the plate. Lastly the bread for the lobster roll was too thin and soft to hold the lobster. I am not a fan of giant bread but it does need to be sturdy enough to hold and eat. These are easy fixes to create the perfect dinning experience. We will most likely eat here again before we leave to try the many other delicious sounding options for both food and drink

The tuna definitely does not appear to be a “fresh catch.” It has huge veins of fat, thereby making me feel like it was probably farm-raised. That would maybe explain why our waitress didn’t give a straight yes or no to whether it was sushi grade when asked (I typically only order tuna steaks rare if they are sushi grade.) Regretted not ordering the crab cakes as soon as I took my first bite. Sweet potato fries are pretty good, although the serving size is fairly light. Service was fast and friendly, so we’ll definitely be giving it another shot; just won’t be ordering the tuna.

I have been coming here for many years, but this last visit was just so-so. Our service was good but the food was lackluster. The softshell crabs were inedible and unidentifiable under all that batter. Steamed shrimp were smaller than expected and were not seasoned the way Rudee's used to season them. Food was cold too. My husband brought me here on our first date in 1989. We have come 25 out of 27 years to celebrate that date, but I doubt we'll come this year. My brother worked here. My parents brought us here all the time too. It's kind of sad, really.

Great local hangout always enjoy getting a quick meal that is on point. Outside dock bar with swing tables is unique and fun on a summer night. The menu is limited but fresh and enjoyable. This was a nice summer date. I was nervous that it would be overrun with tourists but we got there around 1500 or 1530 and we seemed to just beat the beginning of the rush. It was cute without being too kitschy. The staff are mostly young but friendly. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich (delicious) and the pineapple mule (tropical mule?) and it was interesting in a positive way. Husband and I split some hush puppies as well and they were great. Next time I'd sit outdoors.

We visited out of season and place was busy. Seafood was good to average, but do NOT appreciate being charged an extra $1 for a baked potato. If you appreciate Maryland style crab cakes - don't order them here - small, not seasoned proper and no jumbo lump - all shredded. Fresh catch of red snapper was tasty. Steamed shrimp were small and under seasoned. She crab soup was tasty but too thick. Overall average seafood that is over priced.

Brooke was an excellent server, very fast and accommodating, made reservation via website (contact us), and management/owner was very nice via email, even though he said we have non-alcoholic wine but when we got there, waitress told us that they only have non-alcoholic beer. I recommend the she crab soup, Cajun scallops, oysters Rockefeller, steamed shrimp, the Chesapeake style topping on the fresh catch, broiled platter, crab complete, seafood combo platter, and the banana Foster's ice cream cake to top it off! (All the items my family ordered that evening). We will be back! Inside & outside dining available with views of Marina! Offer lots of local beers, too! Simply amazing!

Atmosphere is great. Waited too long for food that had likely been ready for a whil on a not too busy night. . Oysters Rockefeller arrived burned and soup barely warm. We will try it again on the next trip. Maybe just an off night.

If you're going for drinks and ambiance, you are in luck. It's absolutely gorgeous, and if you go on the dock there are these super cute little boat table cabana things that rock back and forth while you watch the ships. Unfortunately, once the drinks have been drank, and the novelty of the boat chair wears off there isn't much left. The crab bisque was really good and then everything else left me wanting. The crab dip was boring and pretty bland. The fried oyster sandwich was a dried oyster sandwich. So many options to add sauce or kick and it was just bland fried oysters on a roll. We were excited about the option of the beyond burger for our vegetarian friends and they were disappointed with a spongy gluten bread making an already pretty dry meat substitute almost inedible. Anyone that works with these knows you have to juice up the fixins to make it good. The waitress was a bit overwhelmed and it took too long for the food to come after we had already had our appetizers for a good 30 mins. So again, if you want to get wasted in a cool place, this is your spot if you want a decent seafood dinner at the beach, keep scrolling.

Nice sitting outside. Nice bar. Wonderful staff. We had fried calamari, and speciality of the day - Linguine pasta with sea food and steak. Pasta was over cooked in heavy and over salted sauce. Portion are huge. We enjoy nice time here.

Went to Rudee's today and Kaylie was absolutely amazing! My husband and I had family from out of town come to visit and what better place to introduce them to!? We were seated immediately, no wait at all (1:45p.m.). Kaylie was beyond attentive and pleasant! M Of course all of the food was amazing! There's literally so many great things I can say! Overall Kaylie was phenomenal! Literally every worker that approached the table today was a joy! Keep up the amazing work! Unfortunately I don't have any photos to add this time.

Fantastic food (who knew the mixed veggie side would end up being eaten faster than the main dish??), wonderful service, super friendly staff, and the view is really, really nice. We were there for an early lunch, right at opening, and it was surprisingly dead (on a weekday in early June) but for a large table of indecisive retirees.

The wait was very reasonable especially for dinner on the 4th of July, and the outdoor seating with gliding tables was a great experience. The seafood was fresh and deliciously prepared. The service was great and we enjoyed our meal here overall! Highly recommend.

The waitress Rachel was outstanding for putting up with our crazy party. My blackened salmon was great. Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law's burger was pink even though she asked for well done twice.

This place is small but full of charm with a very friendly, accommodating staff. It's on the docks and you couldn't ask for any more atmosphere. The food is good and fresh and probably come straight off the boat that just docked next to the restaurant. Would be best for a lunch or early dinner so you can enjoy the view. You should definitely give it a try.

Nice cabana bar & outdoor seating. Service was great. Food was decent, but wouldn't bring us back again. My fiancé loved the she-crab soup. Overall felt a little dated & in need of a makeover.
