Fancy dinner, fancy service, fancy atmosphere, fancy price. The food, service, and atmosphere is great, and I would hope it would be for the price tag. My wife got the surf and turf (8 oz filet mignon with 6 oz lobster tail) and I got the cowboy ribeye with lobster tail add on. We also tried the lobster bites and creme brûlée. All were amazing. My only complaint is that they asked if we were celebrating anything (which we were celebrating our anniversary) and we didn’t get anything. Why ask if there’s no reason behind it? Maybe next time we’ll try asking if they have any offerings. Overall the experience was very pleasant along with the food and service. Would strongly recommend for special occasions.

Great food and fantastic service! Fun and well-balanced drinks - fruit flavors in the passion fruit and black cherry rum drinks really came through in a nice way. Excellent bread and salad options - appreciate them splitting our Oscar's salad for us. NY strip was cooked perfectly and paired excellently with the sauce, and my wife loved her shrimp risotto with the addition of expertly-prepared scallops. Very nice blueberry crumble NY cheesecake for dessert. Classy establishment, well worth the price tag.

Obviously a fine dining establishment, so you go in expecting prices to be high. No problem there. With high prices though, one would expect the food quality to match as well as the drink quality. Food isn't bad, average at best. Same thing with the drinks. Flat beer. Notch 3 (I think that's the name of it) was horribly flat and disgusting and shouldn't be served. Service is pretty good, atmosphere is beautiful.

It was very decadent. I've been to classy places where the food was only so so, but the dinner I enjoyed was superb. I ordered the Frisky wine and Whiskey. ( couldn't decide on wine or liquor ). It was delicious. I also chose the 3 course meal. You really couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. I had the She Crab soup as my appetizer. It was just right. For the main course, I went with the Chicken Parmigiana. Cooked just right, still moist, and a sweetness to the sauce on the pasta. Lastly, for my dessert I had a simple and delicate cheesecake. It seemed like everyone knew each other so there are definitely regulars. Before I forget...our server was Kaylen. She was very sweet and knowledgeable. She was there at the exact moments. Never too early or too late. You have to visit this place.

This restaurant was AMAZING. We showed up to our reservation 30 min early to just grab bar drinks while we waited, but he instead was able to seat our party early since there was an opening! Very polite and well-staffed team who frequently checked on us. The host stopped by midway through the meal and we found out they're a relatively new restaurant in the area! Drinks were phenomenal, and the food was delicious. You can easily eat a 3 course meal deal they offer for ~$50, but of course we had to try a bunch of their signature dishes, so WELL WORTH the price of the meal overall! 😉 Definitely a must-visit for a finer dining experience. Pictured are the Lobster Bites, Shrimp Risotto (with freshly ground pepper from the wait staff), and a Cherry Limeade cocktail 💯

Came here with some girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. They have valet parking but you can park in the garage and wall a short distance. We enjoyed the ambiance. Service was very good. Food was delish, no complaints. See pics.

Exceptional service! View 9/10 only better in a Maui. Interior is flawless, fully dressed tables. classy and comfortable. Menu is steak and seafood focused. No vegetarian menu. Could use vegan vegetation options. There are vegetarian options. Nothing vegan besides salad. Great for vb Ocean front. Is upscale however Reasonable upscale prices. Nice 3 course menu option!! Highly recommend. I've been to every single restaurant on the ocean front. I would consider this the best steak seafood option.

Our server, Alex, and actually the entire staff, made sure our Mother’s Day celebration was a scrumptious one! Oscar’s Oceanside has one of the most attentive wait staff we’ve ever encountered, and we’ve dined at a lot of restaurants! Every meal was cooked to perfection, and the ambiance was so inviting. Mother Nature dampened it, but not our spirits! We will be dining there again!

Ordered the butchers cut, with a lobster tail . The meal was perfect . Appetizer of lobster bites had a honey mustard sauce , not sure I understand the appeal but honey mustard seems popular in the area. The dessert was disappointing, tasted and looked like store bought pecan pie , the center was hot like it was microwaved . The lavender lemonade was decent . Overall would recommend,4 stars due to microwaved pie

My wife and daughter visited on Valentine’s Day. The owner made it a point to visit our table and made sure our child got a special dessert. The lamb was one of the best I have ever had! Great service as well! I will be back ASAP!

Overall I enjoyed the visit. Came for restaurant week. Best reason to come here is the atmosphere. The service was second to none! Didn't think the food was anything that you couldn't get somewhere else for a better price.

Fabulous experience! Hope was our server and she did an amazing job. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. Gaston, who is the GM, visited our table many times and it’s just a sheer joy. He has done a wonderful creating a menu and atmosphere that is beautiful! The food was exceptional. We had calamari, lobster bites -which were incredibly amazing-, she crab soup, and then we had the three-course meal option. I had the 6 oz filet and it was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this for an evening out, a date, a business transaction… Really anything. They have an outdoor seating section that I would like to try next time because it looked like a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a nice dinner by the boardwalk! An absolute gem and much needed for fine dining at the VB oceanfront.

Another great place in VA Beach. First off Adison our waitress was delightful. The service was top notch. Food was fabulous. Generous portions! Oceanfront with the hotel lobby. I'm really stingy with 5 stars cuz the stars get watered down. Trust me this place is solid. One of the best at the VA Beach oceanfront.

Extremely good food. The orange crushes were some of the best I’ve had in the area. The lobster tails were cooked perfectly and the filet mignon was the best I’ve ever had. On top of being right next to the beach with a beautiful view was amazing.

I been to many fine dining restaurants and this one was a bit disappointing. Our waiter only showed up 3 times the whole 2 hours we were there. The manager had to come at one point and he said “ your waiter is busy because she has a big party of group to take care of” Which I get because I worked at a fine dining before too, but at this kind of restaurant service should be handled evenly. Just because there’s a big party doesn’t mean they should favor them more than regular size of 4 guests in hopes that bigger parties tend to spend more so they will give better tips. That made me so mad that I had plan on tipping 80 that night but changed it to 40. Which is still a lot considering the service we got. Why give someone a table if they will not be able to handle it. I wanted the experience to be great. The food was honestly just decent but it tastes as what you would get at any other regular restaurant. It wasn’t as good as what you would pay for but it is by the beach so I guess that’s why it is the price that it is. To focus on the positives, the setting was nice, and the best part was that their dessert of cheesecake was one of the best I ever had. I didn’t mean to be rude because our waiter was nice but I really hoped for a better service.

Had our anniversary dinner here and loved it. Lobster bites were fried perfectly and the sauce was great. We ordered the surf and turf dinner. The steak was thick and well cooked we didn't need any steak sauce, and the mash potatoes and asparagus were delicious. The dress code wasn't to much like some places, and the overall feel of the restaurant was relaxing. Our waiter was amazing, and didn't hesitate to check in on us and made some great recommendations.

Choose Oscar's for a friend's birthday dinner and glad we did!! Warm welcome and seated upon arrival for our 7pm reservation. Our wonderful server was MACKENZIE - great drink recommendations: the Sangria, Oscar's Tini, & Hurricane Oscar! Starters include SNOW CRAB LEGS, steamed with old bay & drawn butter & CLAM & BACON Soup of the Day. Beat crab legs I had for quite some time...steamed PERFECT! LAMB LOLLIPOPS with mashed potatoes & asparagus, SHRIMP RISOTTO with lemon risotto, large shrimp & goat cheese, and LOBSTER TORTELLONI with lobster, scallions, oyster mushrooms, capellini pomodoro béchamel sauce, cheese tortelloni. All cooked perfectly! So many seating options, great bar & when the warmer weather arrives, GREAT outdoor patios on boardwalk! Highly recommended 🤓

This is a restaurant on the beach where we could see Neptune 's statue and gulls. Inside the restaurant is very nice and the waitress was very attentive. It was her first day on the job and we were her first table. The carpaccio was excellent.

I would recommend trying this restaurant out. We tried the calamari and ahi tuna for appetizers and the Ahi tuna was excellent. Loved it! Dinner had the lobster tortellini and it was very good. Nice chunks of lobster, sauce was delicious. I also had the crème brulee and it was very good too. The ambiance was great

Brianna was a perfect server! The setting is great and service from all was excellent. She-crab soup was very good. But our flounder had little taste as did the 3 little sprigs of asparagus with it. And $5 to substitute broccoli for mashed potatoes? Won't be back.

Reserve only place. Use opentable to reserve your spot ahead! VA beach bars and restaurants are all seriously understaffed. If you are visiting for holiday, reserve is must. This place is v fancy and staff are v professional. Had a delightful experience. The ambiance of the space is A+ too. Price is high so it’s a good spot for special occasion. We ordered pesi mussels Appetizer and that is a must. Little spicy kick with garlic tomato paste was amazing. Entrees were great but especially the Salmon fillet welldone was fantastic.

This is my new favorite restaurant💕 I had the Lobster Tortellini...WOW!!! I was blown away by how absolutely delicious this was. Then for desert I ordered creme brulee and again... I was in heaven! The best I ever had. The restaurant is beautiful and a beautiful view of the ocean. The people that work there were all sooo nice and treated us like royalty. If only we had discovered this treasure sooner, but found it on our last night in Virginia Beach.😭👌💕

The best take on shrimp risotto I've had. The portion could've been larger , especially for the price but they had a side of scallops that I added afterwords that hit the spot and were cooked to perfection. The staff were well organized and service was on point. I sat at the bar but more than likely you'd need a reservation for weekends

The atmosphere, location, food, and staff are absolutely wonderful! Perfect for a nice visit or just have a seat at the bar. We had a reservation and from the moment we walked in and were greeted (his name slips my mind, but he's from Ohio) to Brie, who is the definition of excellence, helped underscore an amazing menu. Already looking forward to going back.

While the prices are a bit higher than tge average, the food is on the other level! Seriously, there are just a few places from Norfolk to Williamsburg that provide something special like here. Especially we where surprised to find it on the Virginia Beach front view where the most restaurants are garbage.

We have been to Oscar's before and really loved it. We even had a lovely conversation with the owner who stopped by our table on our first visit just months after they originally opened. We liked it so much, we had it as an option for out of town guests when they were visiting us. We dined there, again, this evening and, while the food was excellent, I was VERY upset at the misrepresentation of the "1/2 Rack of Lamb" on the menu for Restaurant Week. A full rack is 8 ribs, making 1/2 rack, 4 ribs. Two nights prior, we had dinner at Chops, the sister restaurant, and I specifically asked how many ribs were on the "1/2 Rack of Lamb" listed on the menu. Our waiter at Chops, Daniel, said there were 4. I LOVE Rack of Lamb and not many restaurants offer it, however at his suggestion, I ordered the Short Rib instead as he said it was only offered for Restaurant Week & not typically on the menu. However, tonight at Oscar’s, I really wanted the 1/2 Rack of Lamb. Imagine my shock when only 2 very small chops/ribs were served to me. It was more like an appetizer on a bed of mashed potatoes as each chop was barely 1 bite. TINY! I did not want to make a scene as there was another couple directly next to us at the window & our waiter was very attentive and polite. Additionally, I started to think that maybe I misread the menu and was remembering the one from 2 nights earlier. But on our way out, I looked at the menu, again, and it definitely said “1/2 Rack of Lamb”. Before considering writing this revue, I wanted to give the restaurant the chance to address my concerns and their “misrepresentation” on the menu, first. I emailed them with all the above details. Crickets. So I called the next day and spoke to the floor manager who said he would pass on my concerns to the GM/Owner and someone would get back to me. That was last week. Still crickets. So, hence the reason for my Google revue. It is a pricey restaurant but worth it IF you get what you pay for and sadly, this time we did not. Let me say in closing that we recently had dinner at Isle of Capri here in Virginia Beach, which is also on the oceanfront and their Rack of Lamb was the most generous and best I had experienced in the area, let alone anywhere else! I was hoping that tonight, Oscar's would be stiff competition based on our prior experience there, but that was not the case. Very disappointed in their lack of response, but mostly in paying for something I did not actually get served to me.

My party of 4 came in last second and the hostess was very crabby we came in a few minutes before closing. (Which I would be too, but you have to put your game face on) anyways, got sat right away. Our server HALEY was amazing!!!! She was very accommodating and super sweet the whole night. Alyssa & Sam we’re also so sweet throughout the whole dinner. HALEY was so sweet and had a very good personality and energy. I would definitely come back because of her. Will come back & ask for Haley next time :)

Had an incredible meal for my fiancés birthday. He got the surf and turf and said that both were cooked perfectly. We shared the lobster bites which were so delicious and I had the lobster tortellini which was 100% a 10/10. We had read about Oscar's in the Virginia Beach Guide and decided to try it. Excellent experience - great ocean front table, terrific service (Brie), and excellent food. Prices were slightly on the high side but this dinner experience was well worth it. This was our third night at the beach and if hurricane Ian didn't chase us back home we would have been back.

I dined at Oscar’s recently, and found it to be absolutely fantastic. They have the best calamari in Virginia, crispy, light, and perfectly seasoned! I sampled their scallop risotto and was blown away. Tender scallops with a creamy delicious risotto. By far, the main attraction is the creme brûlée. I cannot put to words the excellence of this dish. Please give them a try, it is truly worth the visit

Was dining in your restaurant for the first time last night. We were a party of 16. The food was awesome. Everybody enjoyed it. Nobody had any complaints. It was superb. I had the lobster tortellini and there was plenty of lobster in it! I will be back.

Atmosphere and service were 5+ stars but food was very over priced and average. I wouldn't eat here again for the food but I really loved the service and fine dining experience. My son got a kid's Mac and cheese. It was $16 for a small order of penne with some type of inedible "cheese sauce" that even I wouldn't have eaten. My husband got lobster tails that were so-so and I got halibut which was cooked perfectly but a little bland. Our vegetables were way over cooked (my asparagus was charred/burnt) and his brocoli was very over cooked. The mashed potatoes seemed homemade and were perfect. Just be warned on the pricing.

Requested oceanside seating for two. Seats empty oceanside when we arrived but we were taken to outside seating on the side. Food & drinks were good...but pricey. Seats oceanside were empty when we departed. If we have to pay for atmosphere then how about oceanside seating on a Thursday at 5 p.m.?

The level of service at this establishment is amazing. You never go thirsty. Your food is out quickly. The servers are awesome ! The food is amazing. My steak both nights cut like butter. It melted in my mouth. The deserts are really good. The atmosphere is laid back and pretty quiet. I'd highly recommend visiting when in town.

My boyfriend and I loved our dinner and dessert here. Not only was the waitstaff and entire team on point the entire night, but the food was perfect! I ordered the scallops (highly recommended) which were a very refreshing flavor palate, but had a little bit of creaminess in the sauce they were a perfect meal for a cool summer night. My boyfriend got the New York strip which was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right! Make sure to get dessert! The cheesecake was sooooo good! I felt like the prices were extremely reasonable considering the view, the staff, the food, and the ambience was well worth it! Shout out to Trevor and Kayla! They were so pleasant and welcoming to us. Next time we visit, we’ll be back!

My Wife and I were treated by our daughter and boyfriend for Easter dinner! Great ambiance, wonderful menu, and Trevor the manager and our server Hope offered exemplary service! Beautifully and tastefully decorated in a somewhat Caribbean motif, with ocean, boardwalk views and a fabulous palm tree lined deck and they offer valet parking!

Run do not walk to Oscar's Oceanside! The food was delicious. The service impeccable. Kayla was attentive without hovering. We had the Beef Carpaccio salad which melted in my mouth. The special of the day, halibut, was delicious. The capuccino and dessert were divine. Time permitting, we will be coming back!

We went for Valentine's weekend dinner. We had seared Tuna, calamari,she crab soup, the catch of the day was Rock fish, lobster tortellini and the specialty drinks they made for Valentine's day called One night Stand. All of it was DELICIOUS. Our waitress was Hope, highly recommend. She was very attentive. And of course, Gaston, always making everyone feel welcome and like family. Definately try this restaurant out.

My aunt and uncle invited us down for New Year’s Eve, they’ve been to the restaurant a few times and highly recommended it and I have to agree with them. For being as busy and short staff as they were, everything was great! From the food, drinks, and atmosphere. The owner even made a point to stop by and chat and ask how everything was, when he wasn’t making his rounds he was helping bus tables and run drinks and food. Highly recommended the she crab soup, ahi tuna appetizer, and scallop dinner. Keep up the great work guys! Can’t wait to come back!

What a delightful dining experience we had last night at Oscars Oceanside. Beginning with the cocktail menu —limited but well represented — our table enjoyed three different cocktails: A tequila smash, a lemon drop martini, and an old fashion, (ordered without the espresso). All were very satisfying Our dinners— Lobster tails, New York strip steak, and flounder stuffed with crab, we’re all done to perfection. The serving size was certainly adequate, and we appreciated that it wasn’t so large that we couldn’t finish it. No room for dessert but we left very satisfied customers. More than anything the service was especially fine. No hovering servers, and yet our table was well attended to. It is clear that this restaurant has gone the extra mile to train its servers in attending to those who enjoy fine dining. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend.

After a long day of driving we decided we needed good food for dinner and after reading the reviews we ended at Oscar’s. The service was impeccable, food arrived promptly, everything was so good that we couldn’t talk about anything else during dinner. The place is big but they managed to make it feel intimate. At the end Oscar himself came to chat with us for a bit and offered a complementary glass of wine. It was all lovely, I wish we were staying longer so we could go there again.

The staff was amazing. The only reason they are getting 3 stars is because of the staff. Otherwise, I probably would’ve given 1. The steaks were very disappointing. Little flavor, under cooked and overpriced for what you get. Probably would stick to seafood next time if we decide to try it again. There are plenty of other places to try before that happens.

Came to town to visit family, walked in looking like we just finished an 8 hour drive and realized we were probably underdressed. I felt bad but none of the staff mentioned it, they were very cordial. From the time we sat until the time we left, the experience was fantastic. Addison was our server and she was great. My mom and I made a night of it, martini's, mussels, chop salads, surf and turf's, and desserts. I feel like every staff member stopped at our table for something - to take away used plates, drop off food or drinks, or just to ask if we need anything. In a world where we are in a labor shortage, I was very impressed by their teamwork and genuine pride in the job they were doing. Finally the manager stopped by and introduced himself and we told him everything was great. I'm sure this place will thrive for a long time, and I can't wait to come back to see them next time I'm in town. Great job guys

Oscars is truly the #1 oceanfront restaurant in Virginia Beach! The service is unmatched and the owner Gaston makes your experience incredible with such hospitality. My fiancé and I are moving to Virginia Beach and this will be our top spot to go to for lunch/dinner and specifically seafood. We are obsessed with the lobster bites and she crab soup! Everything is homemade and fresh with flavors that melt in your mouth. We like to think we are foodies and harsh food critics and this place is A+ every time. Nice atmosphere, great wait staff, Kyle was our waiter and he was great, but there was good amount of teamwork and it was the best service I've had in months. Food gets a 4 out of 5. Calamari was perfect, flounder and lamb was terrific, the tuna bites were cooked to perfection. Don't order the Seafood Au Gratin, it's served in a small cast iron skillet and as a result the fish is and shrimp are overcooked and tough, that's a NO REPEAT MEAL. I'll go back, but order other items.

Had dinner with hubby and kid. Service was good. Enjoyed the meal, but took awhile to come out. Was not offered 2nd round of drinks while waiting. We got the check as soon as we ordered dessert.

Exceptional service and amazingly great food. Places is new and very nicely done. The menu is great and all the food we order was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best meal we had in VB, let alone anywhere anytime recently. All the staff are very professional, courteous and attentive. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an absolutely awesome dinner experience. I would actually go as far as saying it was underpriced for the level of food and service they provided.

I came here for an event with my kickboxing gym, and I decided to make a reservation for dinner. My girlfriend and I each did the 3 course dinner. She ordered Caesar salad, chicken Alfredo, and vanilla gelato. The salad was good, but nothing extraordinary. Her Alfredo was delicious and not very heavy. The gelato was also very tasty. I ordered the soup of the day, she-crab soup. It was spicy, but in a good way. The crab was definitely fresh and I could add nothing to give it more flavour than what it had already. I had the catch of the day for my second course, which was flounder served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The flounder was cooked perfectly in a wonderful sauce, which was shared by the potatoes and asparagus. Again, I added no salt nor pepper, as the food was seasoned perfectly. For the dessert, I had the cheesecake which was covered with a blueberry sauce. Delicious. For 49.95 per person, our meals were a steal compared to their high quality.

OH MY GOODNESS what a lovely local gem! We popped in here for dinner, on a Friday, no less. It was truly wonderful! Our waiter was so kind and very timely - enough to where we could request more water or bread, but not too frequent to be annoying. I only wish I paid attention for his name. We got the mussels and oh mylanta that sauce was just 😚🤌 exquisite. We are hoping to come back soon for a full dinner, the four course special looks delicious!

The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was great! There were 6 of us and we enjoyed lobster tails, shrimp, crab cakes and more! The manager said the chef worked really hard with the menu and his hard work definitely paid off!

The meal was delicious and the service was impeccable. The server came over to check how we were doing, unlike some restaurants where you only see the server once. Everyone was polite, and the view of the boardwalk is just an added bonus. Highly recommend!

1st time at Oscar's. Service is excellent and attentive. Drinks were excellent as well. Had 2 Manhattans and 2 Mojitos during meal, each well made and the 2nd exactly the same as the 1st round. Well done. Crab legs as appetizer good but dusted with Old Bay that lessened the taste of the crab. Although specifically told to create space of time between the main course and appetizer our main came while we were finishing our crab legs, that was a slip. Of course we were assured that the food would be remade but when presented it was clear that the crab cakes, rack of lamb and lemon risotto had been held not remade, 2nd slip. Rack of lamb seasoned nicely and tasty, crab cakes too salty and Old Bay overpowered the crab. Manager Trevor seemed on top of game but should not have staff telling diners one thing but do another. Chocolate cake was OK, nothing special but cappuccino was very large and good but lacked the cinnamon influence. Had a nice touch of a few crunchy coffee beans on top. One of the priciest places in VA Beach and I am a regular vacationer here. Catch 31 and Oscar's on the same level in price. Oscar's service is better and is a bit more elegant but Catch 31's food a bit in front.

Ambience amazing, service great, food ok ( I ordered cowboy ribeye Med rare, it came out medium), but what really made me upset was there was no changing table in the women's room and when I inquired about changing table to host she offered a cloth I could lay on sink (which is all "she" could do) however, when I asked the manager on shift (female) if I could change my son on bench/couch outside ladies room she looked at me like I had two head. She then said "sure we'll just clean it off once your done"! Like what ma'am, I had a changing pad 1st of all and secondly why would that be your top concern?! Like how can you offer high chairs but no changing table?? Needless to say the rest of my dinner was ruined from this encounter!! Why should I have had to feel like I'm doing something forsaken bc my child needed to be changed?!!

The first thing you will notice about Oscar's is the exceptional waitstaff and service. The mojito is excellent, a testament to a professional bartender. The presentation of the food was nice; however, the over use of Old Bay on the Alaskan snow crab legs and crab cake dinner was disappointing. Catch 31 down the boardwalk has them beat on both accounts but trails them significantly on service. Both are pricey but, are the two best resturants on the oceanfront.

Aedan( may have spelled it wrong ) and Cameron who were waiting and serving were very professional and made the meal super enjoyable. They even spoke to us on a personable level being we're not from this area. The atmosphere was also good. Don't hesitate to go if you're in this area.
