Best brunch! The breakfast burrito is fabulous! We loved everything about Nick’s, so much we went there two days in a row! The service was great, quick, super friendly and attentive. It’s a very casual place but the food and service makes up for the casual atmosphere and it feels perfect for a beach town. Highly recommend! I also want to add that on the second visit, we arrived 10 mins prior to close. We didn’t realize this until later in our visit; but the staff sat us with no issue or mention of the time, gave us excellent, attentive service and every person in there wished us a good day when we left! This just adds to our high opinion of Nick’s. Super well done!!!

Amazing service and the best food in Virginia Beach. Definitely highly recommended. Philly cheesesteak potato skins were absolutely the best I’ve ever had as was the crab cake sandwich and southern fried shrimp wrap.

I searched for seafood restaurants and read the reviews. Decided to try this place and was very glad I did. We got the fried shrimp and the fish taco special. The fried shrimp were not just the kind dumped out of a bag and into the fryer. These were butterflied and coated in a great batter. Large serving, too. The fish taco, served with a side of beans and rice, was excellent as well. This is not a fancy place, but the food was worth it. Would definitely eat here again.

My husband and I just stopped by for a quick lunch and I was blown away by the warm reception we received there. I got in before my husband and made the comment that today was his birthday. As soon as he walked in everyone told him happy birthday and one of the servers told me I was his favorite person of the day!!! Haven't had stewed tomatoes and years and there's are exceptional. The lamb isn't what I thought it would be but it was still amazing. Auggie is my new favorite server. I'm thinking we'll be back tomorrow for brunch. Even the plain baked potato was amazing.

Great food at very reasonable prices. The new management has really taken this restaurant to a higher level with renovations inside and menu updates. Lots of locals come frequently...definitely a great sign. Highly recommended.

My grandfather took me to Nick's for many years when I was a kid 40 years ago. It was an amazing family friendly place with good food then. Now I take my family there 40 years later. Nothing has changed. Great place to take your family for breakfast lunch or dinner with the nicest staff you will find. See you soon Nick's

Denise was so kind and efficient as well. Just the right amount of warmth and take-care-of-you-quick. Great food, I tried the Greek salad. The veggies were fine; the feta vinaigrette dressing was best. Apparently their breakfast special is reputable, I was too late for breakfast. Did not disappoint. Salad was 8$. Good prices.

We rather go to a little area with good food then rushed food. Budget friendly, cute little place and great food! Has the "home town diner" feel to it and I personally like that! Awesome art paintings on ceilings. Friendly waiter and open really early so not crowded at all!!!

Great food. Stopped by here after reading their great reviews from google. Its a local spot with a lot of locals. The prices were very fair and the food was very tasty. Was a little upset that I didn’t receive hushpuppies as a side with my vegetable side dish. The waitress nust of forgot and i only realized when i returned back to my hotel! Not a big issue, i just wanted my wife to try it once since she never did. Anyhow, everything was very good and the portions def fill you up.

Nick's is an old Oceanfront favorite since 1947 my friend Rich salzer and Mikey febry Zo dying there the other day they always have specials on the chalkboard as you walk in for what is the specials for the lunch for the day myself and my friend Rich ordered the hamburger steak with brown gravy and I have a double order mashed potatoes he had green beans and mashed potatoes and they were both served quickly warm and delicious the waitress was friendly as ever and as I said this is a place to stop if you want a good quick lunch for a good price I did bypass the homemade key lime pie the homemade strawberry cake and a few of the other offerings that they had in so far as desserts but if you're ever out that way that's the place to eat.

The food has slowly but surely been improving over the years. We had breakfast and liked the prices and menu choices. The food was good, definitely above average, but the time we spent there was way too long for 3 people who only wanted breakfast. This wasn't a result of it being busy or short staffed, it was purely do to our server. For the 3 meals, he brought out two of the wrong ones, which he had to go back and correct. After he brought the correct food, thwy were both missing items, which he apologized for and went to get, which took forever. By the time we had everything to eat our meal, it was cold. But we didn't want to spend even more time there, so we just went ahead and ate it. Drinks were never refilled, never brought cream for.the coffee. I don't know if he's new, or if it's just the way too layed back stoner surfer in him that makes him this way, but good lord dude. On the bright side, he was incredibly polite and funny.

Amazing. a little off the main drag, it doesn't seem to be trying to appeal to tourists. As I was waiting for my order 3 different people walked in and the staff knew them by name. Really seemed like a spot catering to locals. The service was great, the price and portions were great, and most of all the food was to die for. Absolutely the best food I had my entire trip. We will be looking forward to coming back to visit next time we come down to Virginia beach.

Great little local spot...limited menu but what they do is pretty solid. The sides are occasionally not amazing (the baked potato has never been very good generally seem old...stick to fries) but I had lima beans last week that I would have eaten a bucket of!

The four of us (mom, dad, 5 yr and 4 month old) got here for some late apps just before closing after a long drive. What a warm welcome both from the staff and the locals. Food and drink both excellent - oysters, deviled crab, hush puppies, salads (and generous wine pours). We’ll be back. Thank you so much for giving us great memories of our first night here.

Good bloody Mary. The waitress was very friendly. It would have been nice if they had a sign that mentioned to seat yourself; we waited for a little bit before asking. The tables could have been wiped off better. Also, the menu needs to list potential food allergies. My friend and I weren't aware one of the soups had bacon in it. I'm allergic and my friend is Muslim, had to send it back. I felt bad but honestly didn't know it would have bacon in it. The Shecrab soup was AMAZING!

Wow! The place looks great! Haven't been around in a couple of years. Kinda miss the old "dive" look but I get it. Had a superior fried flounder sandwich. Huge and very tasty. Am gonna return specifically for that plate. Been eyeing the seafood platter for years. A guy in our party had issues with his food. I didn't. Nick's is usually excellent and reasonably priced for the oceanfront. Parking in rear. Good eats!

Solid breakfast for under 10$. Definitely an idea breakfast/brunch spot. I can’t speak on any other dishes but the breakfast I had was a good amount of food for the price and tasted good. Really attentive and friendly server as well. It recently went under new management and the interior looks really nice. Will update when we return for the dinner menu one of these days. I recommend the breakfast though.

Excellent little place within walking distance of our hotel on the beach. Great food and service and you can’t beat the prices! Cheaper then fast food places! 3 egg cheese omelette, breakfast potatoes and toast was only $5.50! And not a skimpy portion size either! I definitely recommend it! We had no wait time either on a Wednesday at 9am.

I have a business that neighbors Nicks and so I started coming here regularly to wait for my deliveries. Each time, I try a new dish and each time I’m so happy I did. From breakfast to lunch, sandwich, salad or eggs Benedict, I’m always impressed. The waitstaff are great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere easy. Nicks, an old school icon, is doing a great job under new ownership and I for one plan to keep spending my Friday mornings here. Keep up the great work guys.

Chip and Beau have done a great job of revitalizing this place. The food is great and moderately priced. They open at 7am for breakfast which is great on the weekdays before work or the weekends. Its bright and comforting and a great locals hangout and meetup place.

Best seafood I've had in a long time, not everything we ordered was as good as the shrimp and scallops but it was all decent. I can see how once you know what to order the place could be a favorite to return to again and again. Nice waitress too, very patient with us as we decided and helpful with our questions. Will return someday for more scallops at the very least!

Food there is amazing. It seems like its locally fresh food and local caught daily fresh fish. It is really amazing. However, the place needs some major upkeep done on it. The ceiling tiles look like they are going to fall on top of some one, the booth seats are falling apart, the place feels crowded with everything, and the table and seats were still dirty from the last customers that sat there. The waitress didn't seem to feel the need to walk around to the other side of the table and instead reached across the table to hand people their food and drinks. Besides that she was generally ok. So other then some renovations to the restaurant and some hospitality training for the staff, I highly recommend this place. Their tuna steak is on point.

I love old school dining with an open grill. Reminds me of the best places to eat when growing up in my home town of Cape Charles, VA. We couldn't wait to get the best bacon cheeseburger around any where and they didn't disappoint us. Fresh ground beef and a great burger and fries will set you back $8.95. They always have treated us like we come by everyday. Thanks Nick's for a great lunch!

Service was great. We got 2 seafood platters (one fried and one broiled) . I would give them a C. Flounder was overcooked and crabcakes had an odd taste, but there was plenty of meat and little breading. It was pretty good, just could have been a bit better.

Went on recommendation of 2 people. One said "its not much to look at from the outside". But, looks can be deceiving. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to allow the taste of the food to shine through. The scallops melted in our mouths! A must if you want GOOD seafood.

As a North End native I can tell you this is the most underrated restaurant in town. Go to any oceanfront seafood restaurant and pay big money for pretty presentation, or go to Nick's and pay half that for some of the best tasting seafood around. Burgers and breakfast are always excellent as well. They're one of the last standing original oceanfront survivors, and I sure hope they manage to weather the changes and stick around for decades to come.

Was unaware that was there version of fries. The pancakes didnt taste good at all. The bacon was extra crispy. Just wasnt a good experience overall

Nice local seafood place. I have been twice now. The food is ok but has a nice local atmosphere. The ceiling tiles are all painted by different artists and the staff is super friendly with a family run feel. There is available parking around the back of the restaurant. There is a lot to like about Nick's. But the fish wasn't fully deboned and there were some shell pieces in the crab. Almost makes it feel more authentic.

Nick's gives you the, "I just found the local watering hole" secret spot, type vibe. Great breakfast and lunch dishes with fresh Seafood also being offered on the menu (they get fresh Seafood deliveries everyday). Thw owner and staff are awesome with the chefs being established there for decades.

Dont let the decor fool you. This place was amazing. Was very worried when we first walked in. But once we got the food it was delicious and cooked properly. I ordered the scallop special and they were cooked perfectly. Not over done or rubbery. The sides could use an upgrade but for the price everything was well worth it. I highly recommend to anyone going into town. Will definitely visit again next time i come to virginia beach!

Service was definitely subpar, the first waitress was rude and the second never came back after bringing our food until she brought the check. Neither asked us how we were or even greeted us, just asked what we wanted. Never got refills. The food was good, though. I got the seafood medley and the two other people with me got the new York strip, both were cooked to the correct doneness.

A hole in the wall with 2 star food at 5 star prices. Food quality is poor. Portions of sub-parr meals are huge. Canned vegetables are plentiful. Somebody needs to get the flies under control. It gets really annoying shooing them with one hand while trying to eat with the other.

Best Seafood, great prices... Hands down better and less expensive then the all-you-can-eat places. While Nick's didn't have the all-you-can-eat, we ordered more seafood than we could eat, beers, and it was still $20 cheaper for 3 people, than for 2 people (no drinks) at Captain Georges all you can eat.

Cute little local place right down by the beach. They make amazing blueberry pancakes and omelettes, but also have a lot more to offer. Well priced, you can get a lit of food for a decent price. Small space that could be considered homey or cluttered. I think more so homey, esp. with the Christmas decor up. All the Ceiling tiles are painted and things about Virginia, and the community.

Had to ask 3 times for a cup of coffee etc. To be honest they acted like since they didn't know us they didn't want us there . What a shame. I won't go back because we don't want to be treated rudely . But if you don't mind the food is great !

Accidentally stumbled across this restaurant when stayed for one night at the hotel nearby. We were amazed by shrimp plate, crab legs and cold beer with frozen foam. Will definitely visit again.

I realize the numbers I selected are low and apologize for that, they don't tell the story of Nicks. This is a locals joint, not that they do not get tourists, they do. But they do not close at the end of high season, hence the locals crowd. I like to sit on the left side so I can hear the antics in the kitchen, there is usually running commentary. I love the hushpuppies they serve instead of bread, they are the perfect blend of onion and sweetness. I typically opt for the broiled seafood platter, but when lobster is available, that is a fine choice too. Always ask for ice water and iced tea or a beer, they do not come by to refill very often when they are busy and they are busy a lot. This is also a great place to come for breakfast, the crab omelet and grits ( or homefries) make a wonderful start for the day.

I love seafood of all types and have many happy memories of fried filet of fresh flounder during my childhood....but its been many years since I've found it's equal.
