Great place to have my wife's Birthday dinner and Molly, our adopted rescue dog's dinner. Very Dog friendly staff and restaurant. First off, the She crab soup is absolutely loaded with crab and was perfect. All our entrees were perfectly cooked to order. Even our to go entrees. Wife had the soup, calamari, and steamed oysters. As always, she thinks the James River oysters are too small, not like Appalachia Cola oysters that are pretty big. Well ok, her Birthday so she can say what she feels. They looked great to me but I don't eat them. The Calamari comes with tentacle's which my Sweetheart Loves. The Wings were really good! I got half plain forty little 14 yrs old Molly, pictured here, and half Adobe for my wife with a side of Reaper Sauce for me. Wings were great, reaper sauce isn't straight reaper heat but it will sneak up on you and cause you to hold off. Ordered other items for others to go and all said they were delicious! Really Love this restaurant since it's a dog friendly establishment. Our waitress allowed us to post our little girls picture up on the doggy picture display. Thank you to the management for giving us and especially my wife and doggy Molly a great experience!]

I wanted seafood, and I got seafood!! All the seafood. Big enough for 2 people and we had the best hushpuppies. I think my mix drink was $10 and the service was great. Well definitely go back.

A couple of "mountain folk" Visiting from the Smokey Mountains of NC. Looked forward to FRESH seafood for a long time. Were Very satisfied with our experience at CP Shuckers. Samantha took excellent care of my wife and I. We felt pampered. We had Lumpia, she crab soup, hot wings, steamed old bay shrimp, and brownie ice cream desert. If you are visiting the area, HIGHLY recommend you visit if you are looking to delicious seafood and unlimited beer selection.

Solid, local spot. My cousin works here so I can’t be mean but I can be biased. Clientele seems just as concerningly passionate about beer and white/green tea shots as I am. Its never been clear who my waitress is but I’ve never been without a drink in hand. Bathrooms are 7/10 for cleanliness. Toilet legend has it that Bailey Andrews cheats on his wife

Came for the wings, stayed for Natty Bo pitchers. Good atmosphere, plenty of screens to catch all of Sunday game day. Wings finished on the grill area the best way to go. Tuna bites and hush puppies were cooked perfectly.

Food--she crab soup was good, but way to salty. Fried oysters were ok, but recently had much better elsewhere. Other food was good, but not memorable. Service was prompt, but waitress didn't tell us about a $1.99 for substituting one side for another which in the end 1 side was left off altogether. So she deleted a side and charged us the 1.99. She also couldn't get any information right, guessing on market prices that were way off, and telling us wrong information on the dishes that we ordered. The atmosphere of the restaurant could have been good, but the patrons were rowdy and heard the "f" word shouted out so the whole restaurant could hear at least twice. Don't know if this is a regular thing for Sundays, but I wouldn't take any young kids there. My wife said to give them 2 stars.

A bit of a gamble taking family of 5 there when only one of us eats seafood. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! The chicken nachos became a meal that had to be shared. The best wings... very meaty! And the crabcakes/ hushpuppies were delicious! We will be making another trip before our week vacation is over. The waitress was friendly and the prepared food came out in a timely manner.

I have to share, I was having the absolute worst day and we popped by for something light. Danielle was our waitress. She sat us in the perfect spot on the porch where we could enjoy the sunshine and keep away from the sun showers. She was professional, kind, efficient, and truly went above and beyond to brighten my day and return my peace of mind. She and the bartender on duty (7ish on 8/7/22) both provided top tier customer service. We will be back, asking for Danielle!

The parking lot was small for the crowd. The hostess and waitress were nice and efficient. I got the broiled crabcake sandwich with remoulade and really enjoyed it! Prices were reasonable and they had two ipas on tap so I was very happy with the overall experience. I was with five other people and everyone enjoyed their food.

Moderately busy off season. Probably gets pretty busy in season. When we were there the bar was pretty full. The food was decent and not overpriced. I had never seen corn dog bites on a menu I thought that was unique.

Even with the challenges of operating under COVID-19 restrictions... the service, food and safety precautions were excellent! And the fish and chips were really good!

To start with, the parking situation was difficult. The place was not even full but there no parking spaces left. I opted to eat indoors since it was in the 90s outside. The place has a casual vibe and is very noisy inside. I ordered she crab soup and fish tacos. The soup was great. The fish tacos were just OK. They did not have much flavor and they were so loaded with other stuff like black beans and cabbage or lettuce that I had to eat them with a knife and fork. I definitely would never order them again. Someone else at my table ordered the chicken nachos, which would have been a better choice. They were very good.

Great drink, great food, and a nice location. We sat outside and the waiters never once forgot we were dining. They had a nice fire going in a fire pit. Keep an eye on the kiddies. We all got our meals quickly even though the inside was packed for the live music. Drinks were not to expensive. All in all a great stop if your looking for a beach themed meal at the beach. Short walk from the hotels, and minimal parking. Try the hushpuppies they killed. Will go again.

Update 2/23/22. Still the best bar on shore drive. Awesome food. Great people. A must stop on shore drive. Let's be honest, this location never made it until they came. Chris and everyone that ever worked here was great. The tradition continued and that's the truth. Pandemic be damned. Love this place.

The food is always delicious. We had an issue with our order tonight, and the manager on duty was phenomenal in handling our issue quickly and efficiently. They definitely go above and beyond and you can tell they care about their jobs and customers. I’m honestly blown away by their customer service, and I’m always happy to spend money with them. They have the best crab legs and they’re very reasonably priced as well.

Waitress wasn't very attentive at all. Had to ask 2 times for a glass for my beer. Had the crab Alfredo, won't be doing that again. Then after she cleared the table of our food plates we didn't see her again for another 20 minutes. We were clearly done with our meal and drinks and she failed to suggest either another drink or the check. On a good note though my husband had the tuna steak. The said that was really good.

I have visited here several times while in the area and the staff is awesome every time! I have sat at the bar and the tables but the staff has consistently exceeded my service expectations! This even extends to the valet! Seafood prices can creep up if there isn’t a special but it’s quality food that looks and taste well. So you get what you pay for. It seems to get crowded on weekends but they have a security person to manage, so all is well no matter when you visit.

We ate in both locations of this restaurant and both experiences were very good. The food is wonderful. The ambiance is relaxing. The value is good. But most of all we were impressed with the service. In both locations the waiting staff was very efficient and friendly, but the Shore Dr. location waitress really showed us what southern hospitality means. She was very busy and forgot to bring my husband's drink. When we reminded her she was so apologetic and courteous that insisted on giving us a drink complimentary in spite of our attempts to convince her that it's not necessary and we are not inconvenienced at all. What a nice person she is! Needless to say we left big (25%) tips to compensate for her "extra mile" attitude. And of course we'll be back to the place with great food and service when visiting VB.

I hadn't been there for years and I had a great time! Food was awesome, live music was great!! Danielle ("Dani"... our server) was amazing and she took really good care of us! The bartenders were great too! Oh and omg the hummus was so good!! I wish I could buy a tub if it for my house!! Thankfully they do the grub hub thing!!! Place has a more local eatery vibe than the one on the oceanfront, which is a positive. It doesn't have annoying music bumping out of the speakers all day long. Staff is courteous and service is great, busy hours or not. Love the steak bites and fish tacos. Drinks are fairly priced as well. I will definitely be returning.

Fine dining service in a casual environment! My girlfriend and I reserved a table for a Wednesday night to celebrate our anniversary, we were very pleased with everything! At first glance you might think it's more of a bar atmosphere but the two areas are separate and we were never bothered. Staff was friendly and the manager came to our table as well. The food was second to none, we had the crab legs and a shrimp with andouille pasta, not a morsel was left on the plates! Local brews and cocktails from the bar helped make our special day, we hope to return someday soon!

Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere! Service wasn't great but they were super busy. I honestly think the server just had too many tables. She was very sweet and the food was delicious though! The outdoor patio is fantastic. My only complaint would be that they allow smoking on the patio which made it less enjoyable for us. Overall it was a good experience... we'll definitely be back and hopefully they'll be better staffed.

Cons: THE MUSIC INSIDE WAS SO LOUD that the two parties next to us was LITERALLY YELLING AT EACH OTHER just to carry a conversation. -The fried Calamari was hard as a rock. -No kids menu -No regular drink menu (you have to ask the server for it) Pros- The Blackened tuna sandwich was pretty good. Overall, besides the obnoxiously loud music and the over cooked calamari, the place is ok. I don't see myself going back anytime soon.

Clams were sandy but decent sized and delicious. Greek salad was tasty and good value for the price. Lumpia was piping hot, nice and crisp. Tater tots were another win. Fried fish strips could have been crispier outside but tasted good. I'd eat here again.

Alrighty, first of all where is the flavor? We tried ;the "Shecrab soup", bland water based with little to no crab. "Fish tacos" tasty breading wrapped around a miniature piece of flavorless fish (bring back the blackened grouper), and the "Fish and chips", same bland fish over a bed of fries that were cooked into an almost petrified state. If one must serve 'fries' as 'chips', please use a good quality fry, like crinkle or steak fry.Not cooked beyond reason 87 pounds for a $1.00 fries. We don't think we will visit again. By the way, we are still waiting for the water and hot sauce that was 'coming right up'.

This place is awesome! We have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. The servers are attentive and cheerful. Best two points of all: 1) they are cigar friendly, and 2) they are dog friendly as well. There are places closer to home that are cigar friendly, but CP's is by far the best atmosphere and has the best food quality. And Chasity, the manager, is the best. She knows her job, makes you feel welcome, and can neutralize a bad experience and make it great. Suffice it to say, this is our favorite spot now.

We stayed at VA beach for 3 days and of all the restaurants we went to this was by FAR the best in terms of service and food. The staff ws super friendly, the managers did table touches to make sure the food was ok and to make sure we didn't need anything. My home girl got the tuna steak, ....it ws perfectly cooked, well seasoned and a generous portion. I had the snow crab, which was super fresh and also well seasoned. The drinks were delicious, and their house made chips were bomb. I intend to visit again later in the summer and they will be my first stop when I get here.

Pre covid, we went the CP Shuckers to watch football and was never particularly impressed with the food (and recall pretty bad service). We went last week and both the food and service was fantastic. We had appetizers and lunch; everything was really good. Our service was really great too. We will definitely go back.

Great staff and amazing food...do have 1 suggestion however - instead of 2 full-size fried fish fillets on the fish tacos, get rid of one, and split the other between the two, then add a side for the same price. Regardless it was a lot of food, for a decent price given the area. Havent had Oysters Rockefeller in years and this reminded me what I was missing. Wife loved the crab...and so did I 😉, plus her Watermelon mixed drink was phenomenal. Attentive staff and nice atmosphere.

Very careful in choosing where we go to eat now. Schuckers staff were all wearing masks so we decided this would be a good place to eat. I had steamed shrimp they were very large and tasted wonderful. My husband had a crabcake and it was OK. We will go back again but he will order the shrimp that I had because they were so delicious. I am in town from Florida visiting after a deployment and school. I met a friend here for early dinner. I recommended this place. My waitress was not entirely friendly or engaged initially. My food was cold and I requested for it to be reheated. She took the plate and brought it back with less food on the plate. After speaking with her about it, I ended up speaking with manager, showing her the picture of the food when it was brought out previously. She agreed that it was unacceptable and stated that they would remake it. She was extremely pleasant and apologetic. She also stated that she wasn't going to charge us for it. When my food returned it appeared that they remade it by still using some of the same food on the plate, tasting as if they added new food with the old. However, it tasted better than before and looked better too. The waitress even visited the table and apologized as well. Due to the efforts in at least coming to a resolution, I refused to complain again. We were still charged 50% of the meal after the fact. I will not return to this location again.

Super awesome staff! They are dog friendly and allowed our baby to chill under our feet (quietly). They brought him ice water before we were even seated! Fantastic local neighborhood bar restaurant. Dog friendly. Peel & Eat Steamed Shrimp good amount of Old Bay Seasoning. Great size shrimp. Hush puppies authentic. Shrimp tacos good favor a little too much slaw little too much fennel in it but right heat. Waitress attentive and truly friendly. Definitely a keeper local spot.

My boyfriendr and I went while on vacation at the beach. It was walking distance from our hotel and we wanted seafood. We found it on Google. Went for appetizers once and went back for entrees next day. We loved the crab dip, and he loved the Mediterranean shrimp as well as the steamed shrimp. grilled tuna and oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Steamed clams were to die for. All reasonably priced and drinks also .Our servers Lexie and Leanna were extraordinary...fast, friendly and very nice. We will be back anytime we can get to the beach! Kudos to Management and waitstaff.

Kinda hit or miss. The poke bowl was super delicious. Fish and chips, on the other hand... Bland fish, soggy fries, and flavorless mayo-based sauces. Overall I liked their Ocean Front location more. Oh, and both locations are dog-friendly which is super nice.

This is my go to mid-day delight, very relaxing place by the water ( shore ) with fish tacos that taste or remind me of a few places ,driving up the coast from San Diego PC highway. They are that good. You should also bring a cooler with you because out back the catch of the day ces in around. 1:30 . Oysters are also fresh as can be and taste fantastic. I give it four stars only because it's so far. Great drinks wonderful staff and excellent service.

Upscale bar food with excellent service! Went with my husband and two kids. We order the appetizer ribs, crab salad sliders, porkbelly and brisket sandwich, and fish and chips. All were good! Our server was so nice and attentive. The bar looked fun, buy we'll save that for when my kids aren't with us.

Honestly one of my favorite spots to come to at the beach. Always a great time, great company, and even better staff. You can tell they care about their clientele, both regulars and newcomers. Especially Stu, guy can hold a conversation with anyone, all while pouring drinks and tending to other customers and there needs! Highly recommended!

This place was not bad.....and it was not great.....thats how I rate 3 star. We had she crab soup....which my wife loved. The lumpia was ok. Steamed oysters were cooked good but seamed a little bland....needed salt....which is odd. I will say the waitress we had at 3pm on Mar 20 was awsome! Especially since she was working so many tables due to some missing servers that day. However, I would give it another chance.

The service is top notch by the have thought to order. Totally a hit for me. For service along it's worth a return visit. bartender. Friendly, personable, and instantly helpful recommending an item I wouldn't Atmosphere is a locals Irish sports bar. Old school eight's music playing. Definitely a local hang out. Has an agressive happy hour discount for rails and domestics and 2.50 Rolling Rock 16oz drafts. I overheard they have tap takeovers by local breweries based in Virginia. A brewery will put on 6 or so different beers they offer. It's a Wednesday night special that is done on occasion that's advertised on their social media outlets. The takeover special is 3 dollar pints and the chef will offer small plate specials which incorporate the beer in the food or compliment the drinking experience.

Nice menu! Lots of different options. It's a sports bar, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but the dish I had was very good. I've only been there once though, so can't speak to their day today food quality. Service was great, friendly. this place was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm happy with their recommendation.

So nice to have the covered outdoor patio where you can bring your dog. Our waitress brought our dog a water bowl. I'm a vegan and they adapted a chicken wrap as vegan. It was spicy, saucy and delicious. They need to add it to their menu for non meat eaters. Very enjoyable, great service and food.

Happy hour prices decided our day. Oysters were impecable... clean, fresh, local. Wait staff wasn't great, but she was probably just a rookie and needs some seasoning. My only issue is the online menu and prices are not updated so our plan was messed up because of that.

I'm vegan, and when I got there, I couldn't find anything suitable on the menu. I voiced my concern, and the chef made a delicious sandwich just for me! The bread was warm sourdough, and the vegetables inside we're great. I was told that the chef is making some changes to accommodate vegetarians in the future. I'm very impressed, and would definitely done there again!

Prompt, courteous service, came around 330pm portion sizes are large, so worth it for your buck. I really enjoyed the creamy she crab soup, and the tuna sandwich was so big I couldn't finish the homemade chips, which were also delicious. Wish there was one in Omaha, Nebraska!

Shuckers is ok, typical bar. i havent eaten like a sit down dinner here but their appetizers are pretty good. they only have one pool table in a small space which sometimes i think can cause problems when it comes to people drinking and trying to take over the pool table. staff has always been nice and the outside sitting area is really nice during the summer, you can bring your pups :)

Friendly service at it's best! We thought it was a hamburger bar and ate the Land And Sea Friday special which was exceptional. Rockfish, shrimp and a hot sausage served stacked on a square plate with gourmet toppings. This followed an excellent cup of broccoli and cheddar soup. We shall return.

Food was decent, could have used a bit more seasoning. The music is kind of loud which makes it hard to hear the people at your table. There were some issues with our orders being put in. Our order ticket got cut and two of our dishes (two kids meals) were delays because the kitchen didn't receive it. Then another one of the orders (for crab cakes) didn't get put in at all because the waitress misunderstood. So he didn't get his food until after everyone else was basically done eating. The manager was nice and very accommodating about it though. He gave us the crab cakes for free and gave us a discount on the rest of the meal.

Shuckers is a reliable, casual place to drop in and grab food and a drink anytime. Great neighboorhood bar and the staff is always friendly and attentive. There are plenty of TVs but I wouldn't call it a hard-core sports bar. You can't beat the crab legs special on Tuesdays! Menu includes a raw bar and they put some twists on run-of-the-mill bar food to keep it interesting. Nice deck added to the front, but avoid it unless you can tolerate the smoking :/

We were seated quickly, and served in a reasonable amount of time. Menus were appetizing. However, they no longer serve the lobster rolls praised by a previous reviewer. The server made a comment that many people ask about the lobster rolls, and one would wonder why a such a fact did not inspire them to reintroduce the dish to the menu. Prices were reasonable for the location, but the Shuckers Boil was portioned a bit small compaired to the expectation offered by the menu. The Tuna Poke was very well done and the wasabi salmon was also very good. Service was friendly and attentive, and restaurant was overall clean and well kept.

We have driven by this place more times than I can count, I'm glad we finally stopped in and tied it. The food was delicious, well presented very fairly priced. They did a double order from the kids menu for my disabled wine. It came out so well put together with a sprig of fresh Rosemary in it. I mean, who expects a beachfront oyster/crab/seafood shack to do that? Or even have fresh Rosemary on hand? When you taste the food you will know, this is not just another seafood restaurant, they put passion into their creations. Shout out to our server (Im terrible with names!) Makenzie or Makayla? Either way, great service! We will be back!

We visited with our new puppy a few weeks ago,just to have a place dog friendly to eat out at. It was a really cold day so we were trying to hurry which sucked because the food was really good. The staff was obviously as in love with our pup as we are. He started to shiver a bit so I had him half way in my rain jacket but it wasn't enough. Our server brought out her jacket for him to use as a blanket! It was a very nice black north face parka, I'm sure wasn't cheap, but that's how awesome she was! It's a great place and were looking forward to them finishing renovations to the patio so we can bring him back. Thank you so much!

Pleasant surprise, a wonderful seafood restaurant behind the façade of a sports bar! Oysters on the half shell were ridiculously fresh and sweet, She-Crab soup was creamy and flavorful, and lightly breaded flounder in the Fish & Chips entree totally divine. Friendly, fast and efficient wait staff, items delivered in minutes, used plates quickly removed. Say a lot that the restaurant was full of locals after tourist season is pretty much over. Highly recommended!

The ladies in my neighborhood had lunch here today to celebrate the November birthdays. Surprisingly none of us had been to CP Shuckers even though we just live down the street from the Shore Drive location. Let me tell you, we will be back. The menu is extensive and the portions are huge. We all shared the oysters Rockefeller, calamari, and 2 orders of fish and chips. Everything was cooked perfectly and accompanied by house made remoulade and aioli. Our server, Rachel was so sweet and had great suggestions for us. When she found out we were celebrating birthdays she brought out warm brownies topped with ice cream and whipped cream and lit candles for the birthday girls! Thank you Rachel and CP Shuckers.

I get there and the server tells me "oh, the website must be out of date"... ok. I order 1 dozen oysters for $13 dollars off the menu. I get the check- charged 14 dollars because she rings me up for 2 half dozen as opposed to 1 dozen. And the bottom of the receipt- it references their outdated website. I explained that I could stomach the "our .75 cent oysters are outdated but I'm not pay 14 as opposed to 13" .... convinced this is just a tourist trap.
