EXCEPTIONAL! It has high reviews for a reason!!! I wanted food with a view and it did not disappoint! They have weekend specials in the bar area but only a couple of dollars off (2/3$). Staff is extremely friendly. Boats can just pull in which lets you know their clientele…. But the views and food are spectacular. PLEASE GET THE CALAMARI W/ BANANA PEPPERS. I ate the whole plate and the portions are huge. Prices are actually not that bad either for seafood in this particular area and that’s probably because you have to tip for the ‘’complementary” valet parking. 10/10 recommend and will be back again.

Great seafood! Great drinks! Great atmosphere! It's worth the visit. The fish is very fresh and prepared the way you like it. Love the Orange Crushes. Very popular spot at the beach. May take a little time to get parking, but all parking is valet. Nice service. Love the waterside seating.

Amber was a real pleasure and provided a great description of the oyster selection. Both oyster shooters were great. The 007 wasu preference. The raw oysters slaw and fries (staples in my mind) were perfectly seasoned. The she crab was hearty and well seasoned. A few splashes of hit sauce were more because of personal preference only. The view and vibe were equally fantastic. Sitting over the water never gets old.

Loved, loved, LOVED this place. Totally my vibe. Low key, and right on the water. LOTS of indoor and outdoor seating on the waterfront. Three different buildings connected together. Fun watching the boats dock, order, and be served right in their slip. My new fav in VA Beach!

Great place! Out door and indoor seating. Couple bar areas and the place gets packed on the weekends. The food was really good, had oysters as an app and the tuna tacos. Try the orange crush 21+ for a drink!

First time visiting the restaurant. The scenery was nice and friendly staff. The food was ok and could be better. I ordered half a pound of steamed shrimp and they were overcooked. Ordered half a dozen oysters and they were so small. Hardly anything in shells. For the price, should be more oysters on plate since they are so small. I was disappointed. But overall fun place to hang out with friends.

Food was great. The burger 🍔 I had really tasted as if it was made at home. The sweet potato fries were great as well. The service was quick and very courteous. I was impressed by the variety of food that was offered on the menu. You will still enjoy yourself if you don't eat seafood. I would return to this establishment of I'm in the area again.

Hubby and I had a date night. The starter appetizer of 6 jumbo shrimp with lava sauce was delicious. Hubby had a burger he was happy with. I had the mahi fish tacos it was delicious too. The dessert was huge a warm fudge brownie sundae in like a bug fish bowl margarita glass. I had no complaints with our dinner. I will be coming back again. Next, visit will be with our kids.

Chicks is a beautiful sassy little Virginia Beach eatery. Location right on the water where you can watch people and boats coming in and out and even the fighters jets from overhead. Their menu is perfect and will not disappoint. Loved it!!!

Chick's is a laid-back hangout with a rustic clam shack vibe & waterside deck serving good old seafood & drinks. I think since 1998, they have been serving up delicious seafood. So much bigger with all the varied seating options and decks! The shrimp are seasoned perfectly as are the crab legs. If you want a beach crush, Chick's has many flavor options. THANKS MADISON FOR YOUR AWESOME SERVICE!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Probably the most fun bar in Virginia Beach. Great service, amazing location with a beautiful view. The drinks are great but we were a little underwhelmed by the food. We would definitely come back, but probably just for drinks next time.

What a cool place to relax with an awesome vibe. Then you have amazing views and top it off with delicious food, fantastic service and wonderful adult beverages and you pretty much have the complete package. The raw oysters were delicious, the crab cake sandwich was practically all crab and the Bayview chicken sandwich was fresh and tasty. Loved it. No wait and valet parking.

My two favorite things about this place is the complimentary valet parking and the scenery by the water. The food was pretty good. I ordered steamed oysters and crabcakes. I guess the crabcakes were too fresh because they were crunchy with every bite. I had to keep spitting out shells. Aside from that the food was good. Upon leaving the restaurant my friends and I received well wishes/goodbyes from multiple staff members which was nice!

My first time here and our server Jordan took excellent care of our table. Tried a steamed oyster for the first time. Enjoyed the hush puppies, Costa Rican Fish tacos, the black beans 'n rice, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie & ice cream.

Definitely happy with our dining experience here. We sat by the covered porch. Came here for oysters and it didn’t disappoint. I was visiting family over Thanksgiving and we had dinner here (11 of us). I thought the food, atmosphere, and service were great. I am from Atlantic Beach, NC and I did think the food was a bit pricey, which is why I gave it four stars.

Decided to try this local community favorite and we weren't disappointed! Great relaxed atmosphere and great views of the water. We tried the Mahi Tacos and the fried oyster basket with sweet potato fries and both were fresh and had lots of flavor. Will be back!

We got some crab cakes and half shell right on the water with boats docking right next to us late in the evening. It was our 2nd night here. There was a massive school of small fish jumping wildly right next to us as we ate. The weather and atmosphere were perfect this restaurant is a gem. That was such a perfect evening. Despite it was kind of loud ( the bar) it easily is 5 star. I can't wait to go back and get that experience again. Priced great. Fast food everything super fresh. Great waitress

Great views that are tough to beat. You get to enjoy your meal right on the water if you choose, watching the boats go by. I've been here many times, this is my first time leaving a review. I ordered the shrimp tacos and sweet potato fries. Instant impression is that these sweet potato fries are among the best I've had, really well done. The tacos had incredible flavor, and you definitely won't leave hungry. Two tacos, and I couldn't finish it. Expertly seasoned. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the shrimp itself. It was a choking hazard. Very large shrimp, way too large to have any business on tacos since tacos are meant to have the smaller shrimp. Also, they were very overcooked. It happens, nobody's perfect. I cook for a living, so I understand. But shrimp is delicate. When it's shaped like a C it's done, and it only takes a minute. Once it's shaped like an O it's overcooked and very tough to chew. If the shrimp was the right size and cooked properly, it would be 5 stars easy.

Amazing spot! Weather your on a boat or just stopping in it's a great place. Steamed shrimp is seasoned to perfection, the tuna bites are so delicious and a staple for us at every visit. And if you're still hungry I highly recommend the flounder tacos! Oh and the crushes are a great refreshing treat. The staff is also great!

It was a very pleasant experience, I sat out on the dock and had a beautiful sunset. This place could easily accommodate large groups. The food was your normal bar affair, nothing special but they did have freshly made orange crushes which were really good. Parking is by valet only which is surprisingly well orchestrated. Will probably not be back for a while but definitely will be on the list of places to check out when in Virginia Beach again.

We sat outside on the deck for an awesome view of the Bay and the marina. I had the fried oyster platter which was delicious with fresh fried oysters. I started with the she crab soup which was awesome! My wife had the cheeseburger and fries. We took advantage of the valet parking which was complimentary. A new favorite spot which we will be visiting often!

Parked the boat at the dock, and had lunch. Food, service, and atmosphere was all fantastic. Great place to watch football, and have an awesome specialty menu on Sundays. Orange Crush, Steak Wrap, Fried Pickles, Buffalo Chicken Dip, and Korean BBQ Brisket Tacos were all phenomenal.

I was told this spot had some good seafood so gave it a try. We waked in and they had indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and it was right by the water with many boats and sand. I loved the ambience of the place. The waitress and the rest of the staff was so nice to us and accommodating. I ordered the shrimp tacos and told them no dairy and my friend ordered a cheese burger with fries and some drinks. When it arrived I bit into my food and realized there was cheese on it. I was turned off and sent it back and ended up not eating there. The drink was good and my friend liked his burger. The price wasn't too bad, a little over $30.

Came here for lunch with my fiance and we sat out on the back patio overlooking the water. Great weather, great food and great service. We both got the hawaiian crush with lunch and really liked it. We ordered the Mahi Tacos and their fried shrimp with cole slaw and fries. Please see pics!

The food and drinks were good but the 3 stars is because of the service. I came here with my boyfriend and we were sat in a room with a table of several drunk college guys. Eventually they left, bragging about driving drunk and not getting caught and then another table of guys was seated there. We had the same waitress as the other table and she basically ignored us the entire time and was far more concerned with the table of guys. She checked on them fairly often and avoided eye contact with us whenever she walked by. It took forever to get her to come over to take our order.

First time here in the boat, pulled up, dock attendants quickly helped us get tied up, gave us courtesy water and took our orders, we ate on real plates and enjoyed a great dining experience. I would definitely recommend this establishment. Food was hot, and you can taste the freshness in my fried oysters!

We arrived at 5pm on a Friday night and it was starting to get a little busy. This place was awesome! We started with a grapefruit crush! Yummy. Ordered the crab dip! They brought it out with these fresh baked toast/pitas. It was delicious. Moved on to the blackberry crush. A little too sweet but it still went down easy. Ordered a dozen oysters. I’m not an oyster eater but I managed to slurp one down. Let’s just say I did it and move on! Next up was the crab cakes. It comes with hush puppies and 2 sides so I got fries and sweet potato fries. The crab cakes were scrumptious! 2 big ones that we shared! Sweet potato fries were really yummy. Last crush was an orange signature crush. It was good but grapefruit was my favorite for the night. Last appetizers was friend shrimp. Can’t go wrong with this item! Spectacular view, large private room for parties, outside dock seating. Great sunset photos and atmosphere!

Food was Fabulous! I had their grilled crab cakes. The others with had Mahi Mahi tacos and crab cake tacos. We had the raw oyster appetizer. They were very good! All the food was well received! Wait staff was attentive without being annoying. The reason for 4 instead of a 5 was the men's restroom's toilet stall. I have been in some really nasty ones over my 70 years and this one might take prize. Fortunately, I had already eaten! Food is worth going back for, just try to not use their men's room!! 🥺

Some of my coworkers and i decided to check this place out based on a recommendation and I’ve got to say the food was really good. I got the clams as an app and the mahi tacos for dinner and i was impressed. The tacos were pretty big and i was full. Service was really good too. Not sure how I found this place, and I'm so glad that I did. Some of the pictures are misleading. I orginally thought this place was kinda small like a hole in the wall place to eat, and once you get there you'll see this place is huge. A ton of seating both indoors and out. The restaurant has a ton of character. We had the calamari, steamed shrimp and hot crab dip as apps. For dinner we had the shrimp burrito bowl, and fried oysters meal. The calamari was cooked perfectly and was tender and not chewy. I was expecting maybe a handful or more of fried oysters but it was a large plate which were really good. Definitely get the sweet potato fries, seasoned with what I think was cinnamon and nutmeg possibly but they were good just the same. Nice views of the water and the occasional passing boat. Was busy but they do their best to social distance from each other you can see they could easily place more table outside but because of Covid-19 plenty of space between parties. If you in the area a good place to stop in and get some seafood.

I came here with my bf and his friend both from Cape Charles and I’m from Charleston SC. This place reminded me of home. Not to fancy so you can wear whatever and be free. The waitress was fun my bf kept teasing her and she was a good sport, the food was really good, and how could you not love the atmosphere? Right on the water! It was a little hot that day but they had umbrellas so we sat outside and watched the boats go by. Ferrell Williams house was across the way so it was cool to find out he lived there, or maybe just his house did 🤔. Anyway if your looking for s place to meet up with a bunch of friends or just to go hand at the bar with your boo I definitely recommend!

This is my favorite restaurant. It's down-home cookin' at its best. The atmosphere is informal and extremely friendly. It's noisy in a truly fun way. There's always lots of laughter around. The seating has several options. The bar is a constant huge hit. The views are the best part. Go around sunset. Take a walk on the dock. Outstanding food, feel and views. Best restaurant for this guy!

Lovely place on the water. Orange crushes on point. Food was fantastic. Parking can be a bit or a nightmare but if you are able to Uber there it isn’t an issue at all. Totally recommend!

Allow me to tell you what this WAS. 1LB of steamed shrimp, half dozen oysters, hush puppies, and Tuna bites medium rare. This place a lot of locals know about, and for good reason. This place is right on the water, complimentary valet, and good, simple food. The drinks are phenomenal and the food is fresh and amazing. In addition, the staff is great too! If you have been at the beach all day and want some great food and great drinks, Chicks is the place to go! The steamed shrimp alone is worth the trip. Thanks guys and I'll be back!

Where? Seriously where do you source your tomatoes?!? I know that’s a weird way to start a review. But I seriously want to know. They’re amazing! Covered patio dining can be a bit noisy due to material/design choices; but otherwise pretty chill. Crab cake sandwich, awesome. Broccoli with hollandaise, superb. Beer prices, average. Tuna tacos, would be better if you got to choose the temperature. Waitress asked how I wanted it cooked, I said “rare,” she replied “oh, no I meant grilled or blackened.” I should’ve just said “neither” but I went with grilled. What I got was medium well. It happens. Just, tuna looses 90% of its flavor when you cook it that much. The tomatoes were the star of those tacos. EDIT:This started out as a five star review while I was still at the table. Changed to four stars at the last second. Bus boy was standing awkwardly right at our table waiting for us to get up. I could understand this if they were busy; but there were plenty of empty tables. So that was really uncomfortable. However, the real reason for the star-loss is the unnecessary valet. I know it’s “complimentary” but it’s also compulsory. Again, I could see this if they are busy. But we were one of maybe six or seven cars. It was parked twenty feet from the front door. It took us longer to walk to the stand, hand our ticket over, wait for him to get our key, and run over to the car than it would have if we just walked over there ourselves. And, let’s be honest, call it “complimentary” all you want, those guys make their money off of tips, so it’s expected. So I’m paying a guy to make me wait. Yea... thanks. I feel like the valet should only be during peak hours.

First off there was complementary valet service. When you walk inside there is a hostess seated area and then an outside bar area which is self serve seating. We ordered the specialty oysters and a half Marina for two people. It was a challenge but we were able to clear both of them. I highly recommend this place it was great.

Always love this place on a sunny day or any day for that matter. great dining experience off the water which gives you a beautiful sunset. Orange cruses are always good and the view is always beautiful. Great staff and atmosphere. Food is on point I love the fish tacos with sweet potato fries. The place is always busy but you don't have to worry about parking because they have free valet. Also a great place if your trying to watch a game they have big screens everywhere. Don't pass this place up whether you're on vacation or a local.

Chick’s was pretty good! The food was delicious (best crab cake sandwich I’ve had), and it was cool to just pull the boat up and be served from the dock. The 4th star is strongly because of the food quality (which is really what matters to me), but couldn’t go 5 because it took an hour or longer to get our food, and I noticed a couple of the waiters were being really short with us throughout the evening when we would ask for drink refills or the check. Just a little off-putting, but I’d definitely go back for the quality food!

I was just in town visiting and my buddy took me here. I'll tell you what... love the location, love the food! Right on the water. Come by boat if you can. They had a few slips available. Highly, highly recommend The Orange Crush with the Costa Rican Soft Tacos + sweet potato fries. Amaze-balls! I'll definitely try to come back!

I wasn't really impressed! The oysters were about $2 each but they were super duper tiny! It took about 3 oysters to fill a cracker! The blackened shrimp tacos weren't really filled with flavor & looked like they weren't fresh but were boiled from a bag. The views though were stunning & I'd give it another try when we're back in town.

The vallet parking is a great touch. The staff have friendly faces, amazing smiles and seem to work very well as a team. Just like the staff, their food is amazing! We ordered a kids meal chicken tenders, which was very juicy and tender. Crab legs are amazing per usual. The advertise the fried shrimp as a very good choice. I'd say it's an excellent choice! The best I've had this year. The burgers look and taste good. We also had Virgin Hawaiians which I could drink all day if I had the opportunity. We always had what we needed, anytime we were done with a dish and set it at the end of the table it was picked up to give more room on the table. They forgot our oysters, so they comped it. Valet parking was a breeze. The parking lot is small so get there early. This place is huge and we only saw probably half of it. We like to visit for the happy hour shrimp and oysters. The service is always fast and friendly at the bar area. Orange crushes are delicious. We love the hush puppies, too. Once my son got the Mac n cheese and it looked identical to Kraft from the box (he loved it, of course). For raw oyster lovers: I do get oysters each time even though they’re gritty (but for the price… it’s hard to complain too much). They need to be cleaned more when served raw.

Chicks has always been a favorite of our family; & this visit was with family from out of town & hasn't been there for a while; party of 12 was sat in a perfect area, Hailey; fresh off her training period, handled us as if she had worked at Chicks for years. She got everyone's orders properly, had help bringing the food out, of course; but everything else was strictly Hailey, & checked in as needed w nobody having to wait for anything; I also might add, our family like to have fun & jokes around w the staff, but Hailey handled it like a pro! The restaurant itself was well staffed, clean restrooms, access to the water & has 3 styles of seating. Inside seating, outdoor seating ON the docks & a semi-out & in area like it's open to the air & located right inside of where the docks are but still covered & wouldn't get wet, even in a downpour; very unique experience & place! Anyone who visits or is a local, would love it!

We had the shrimp and fish tacos, both delicious, and some raw oysters which were great. Only thing I would change is I wish they had said on the menu the sweet potato fries have sugar and cinnamon on them - they weren’t bad but just not what I was expecting.

Update: We have been here several times since our initial review. Still five stars. Fish and crabcakes are always hot and fresh. The beer is always cold. Server was sweet. Remember to tip your servers well. They will Remember you. We had dinner tonight, out on the deck, picnic table with umbrella with an amazing view. The place is large and has a space for everyone. Savanah was our server and she was proficient and nice. We would definitely ask for her next time. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell, yummy cocktail with horse radish the way it should be. For dinner we had the special of Soft Shell Crabs and Blackened Flounder, cole slaw and fries. Everything was really really tasty along with the cold beer. We loved it and will be back next Sunday. Awesome job Chicks!!!

I’ve only been here three or four times but each time was enjoyable. I hate using valet services but the valet staff is always kind, cautious, and efficient. Even on extremely busy nights, I’ve never waited for my car or had any other issue. The food is consistently served hot and quickly. We’ve never had any problems with waitstaff or the food. We will definitely continue to come here and recommend it to others!!!

Perfect view of all the boats going by. Our waitress bought our drinks, appetizer, and then our dinner. I had the bake Thi fish special a generous portion with rice black beans, avocado slices, with onion, tomato and a nice spice sauce. $27 Really Good! The servers gave us super service. Enjoy;))

It was my first time at Chick's. The decor was beachy, as expected, and casual. The wait staff was friendly when she took our drink order. We needed longer to decide on our order, having no familiarity with the menu, but when we were ready to order we waited at least 10 minutes, maybe 15, for out waitress to return to our table before we gave up and asked about her whereabouts. The food was good. I had tuna bites from the starter menu for my entre. It was not only good, the portion was generous. I had leftovers, and they were good the next day. The conversations of other diners were too easily overheard (something to note if you dine there) perhaps something to do with acoustics? Overall, the star of the show was the taste of the tuna, for which I would return. My compliments to the chef.

Fun place, noisy in bar area at far right of entrance. Quieter inside dining nearest entrance. But I don't think you really come here for a quiet experience. Love sitting right beside the water on the dock when it is available. Great to watch a sunset there. Nice sandy area for hanging out until your table is ready. It is just a fun place to visit.

Chicks came very highly recommended to me, and I'd certainly seen their stickers around. Initially without a reservation I was told it would be a 30-40 minute wait for a table but it was a pleasant evening so I left my number and went for a walk along the waterfront. Only 15 minutes later I had a text telling me my table was ready which wasn't a bad wait at all for a warm Saturday night! Inside there is clearly a warm and lively atmosphere and the décor was pretty nice. Next time I go back I will definitely book ahead and get an outside table as the view over the water was amazing. The staff were friendly almost to the point of irritation - I was asked at least 5 times during the course of my meal if everything was okay, but that's probably just my European side coming out. Point is they clearly want you to be satisfied. The food was very good. I don't actually like seafood but was very satisfied with my burger and chips (fries in American speak) but I hear the seafood is very good here. I noticed there was space on the dock to moor your boat collect food and go which I thought was novel! Overall I'd go again, and I think if I was sat outside on a nice day I'd probably up my rating to 5vstars.

I really like Chic's. It has a great atmosphere and a friendly staff. It has beautiful water views from almost everywhere in the resturante. The food is good with a nice selection. The taco's are great. They have a nice selection of fresh made crushes in a multitude of different flavors. Just don't expect much from the Flounder BLT. The description on the menu and the execution on the plate are a little far apart. It's a cheap dish so I wasn't expecting some elaborate fish blt. But I wasn't expecting the sandwich in my pictures either. But honestly this is the only thing. I have gotten from here that I wasn't completely stoked about. The flounder it's self could not have been better. Maybe it's just better without the bun or in taco's. Either way. You can't go wrong here if you want an authentic beach experience off the strip and tucked away where the locals go.

So first off I have a shellfish allergy so this place would not have been one of my first choices for lunch. I was able to get the Mahi fish tacos which were okay. I was unable to get any french fries or hushpuppies or anything fried for that matter because all of their fried foods are cooked in the same oil. I recommend to all eating here to get an appetizer before you get your food entree, there was a long wait on our food so an app would be able to hold you over. I don't need them to cater to me but I would prefer to have more options when it comes to seafood, fried foods, turf food when you have an allergy.

Love to get their crab dip here which are served with these delicious little pita rounds. Important to note that it is valet parking only. My wife and I stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the tuna bites. We both got violently ill a few hours later and called “manager” to alert him that the tuna bites could be contaminated so as to not serve them to anyone else. He responded that he “inspected” the “line” at 3pm. First of all, after 15 years in the seafood business, mishandled tuna could produce scombroid toxins that cannot be cooked out with heat. UPDATE: Management has since responded and sent out a gift card to refund our meals.

Best place to sit & relax on their ample deck/outdoor dining space! Seats almost on top of the water, overlooking Lynnhaven Inlet; front row seating to all the boats coming in/out of bay all day/night. FAST SERVICE, drinks and hot & fresh food always comes quickly with ample service workers! GREAT DRINK SELECTION, extensive beer and crush menu. Big menu with awesome options - not just blah bar food. Recently, they added a "football Sunday" menu... sadly, not impressed. The cheese curds were blah, and buffalo chicken dip itself was ok, but it was covered in a large block of hard cheddar, and chips were meh. Although I appreciate the fact that they created a special menu, those couple items not impressive at all. The wings/sauces are AWESOME tho - winner every time!! There are lots of great items on their regular menu. STAFF is always great and there are so many of them (whereas most places are "short on staff" every where we go bc of covid) but not a problem here!!

Great food and reasonably priced. I came here 3 years ago and again yesterday. Both times I was more than satisfied with my meal as well as the others in my party. I ordered the blackened crab cakes and was impressed with the amount of crab in them. Very good. My hush puppies were the best I've ever had. The key lime pie undoubtedly surpassed any I've eaten before. Once again "Great job" Chicks. I'll be back again before my short vacation is over.

Bad host experience. Waited over an hour for a table, then they tried to split our group around different parts of the restaurant without disclosing that to our party. Scenic view and stellar atmosphere did not warrant overpriced, sub-adequate food! Grill ran too hot, chicken sandwich was burnt to a crisp on the outside but undercooked on the inside. Also avoid the bowls. Drinks were ok.

We were a bit disappointed on our visit after reading and hearing great reviews. Oysters were gritty, fried oyster basket was more than half french fries. The Costa Rican soft tacos, however, were large, a generous amount of fish, and delicious. We were staying in the more touristy part of North VB so this was a bit of a trek and didn't really feel like it was worth the trip. They seem to be getting away with mediocrity because of their view/location. Service was friendly but the food was mostly disappointing.

Cool place to go for a drink in the evening. They also have Touch Tunes so you can play songs you'd like to hear. However, if you play anything remotely rock / metal, your song will get skipped. And they don't have ANY rap or hip hop. Not even Beastie Boys. And that's why I give this joint three stars. If you don't want metal played, take it off your selection, like the rap you don't have.

It was pretty good. Got the orange crush drink, it was made with fresh squeezed OJ, triple Sec, and vodka. Very tasty and fresh drink. For food I ordered the Flounder. It was a little over cooked and the fries tastes like they had been seating under a heat lamp. Overall fish was good but not worth market price. I was gonna get their tacos but it was 15 bucks for two with beans and rice. I felt that was a little much. We sat out side on the water. It was a beautiful view and it felt amazing outside. Bathrooms were clean and service was great. I'll come back and try something different.

Delicious lunch for locals on Labor Day. We ordered the flounder BLT with sweet potato fries, and the Costa Rican fish tacos with beans/rice. Everything was super fresh and well seasoned (as opposed to a lot of the local seafood spots with tasteless dishes). We will definitely be back! Good food, great atmosphere! Plenty of outdoor seating. Boats can pull up to the back deck and off load passengers and tie to the dock. The food is very good, but I havent had anything that was "slap yo mama good" if you know what I mean. Well, except for the she crab soup, its delicious. They offer the traditional seafood staples, crab cakes, fried seafood options, catch of the day, a couple of hamburgers. Nice simple menu with a good variety, but not an overwhelming number of options. They also offer a great variety of beer, wine and mixed drinks. It's one of my favorite places to eat in the area mostly because I like the view from the back deck.

Ordered the fried oysters which was ok, not horrible but nothing to write home about. Atmosphere was nice, staff did take a while to come back and check on us. They do ask for your card before ordering a drink and when you ask for your check they immediately charge your card and add the tip automatically and hand you the receipt to sign. All in all the place is ok.

We recently vacationed in VA Beach and Chick's came highly recommended to us by a family member. We heard it has awesome sunset but given the time of year, the sun had already set before we dined. This is a very casual place with picnic style seating. The only downside is we were in an enclosed room overlooking the water and it was very noisy and hard to hear one another. But the food was fantastic. Don't miss the hush puppies - they are delicious!

Just got back in the country after 16 years overseas, was looking for a nice friendly bar to grab some good seafood in, and a cold drink. Stopped in for happy hour on Friday. Staff was really friendly, showed us all the areas we could sit in, really nice variety of areas/views/seating types. Grabbed a seat in the back bar, great view of the bay. Waitress was super nice and informative, great food, great selection of cold draft beers. Will definitely be back. Only suggestion, live music during Friday happy hour would be nice.

I have been to this place several times now. there is only a small section of it that has a see the rest of it is open to the outside and while you get a small breeze coming off of the water it is mostly just very hot and humid. I left yesterday so sticky from sweat that it was a little unpleasant. they have really good seafood great quality and the prices aren't too bad either. their happy hour specials cannot be beat this is probably the cheapest oysters you will get in the Hampton roads area. Overall it's a great place to come grab some seafood and chill on the water.

An absolutely delicious local fair. They serve some of the freshest and most delicious seafood around and it is a local staple for enjoying an amazing dinner right on the water. Their menu ranges from delicious shellfish to succulent fish and even a few turf items as well. If you have a large group of seafood lovers I highly recommend the Chicks Marina!! They have a great selection of crushes to enjoy along with a well stocked bar. There is seating located inside and outside to enjoy the weather when it is gorgeous out. There is good parking, though on weekends or busy nights there may be mandatory valet service, so be prepared. You can also pull up in your boat and use their dock built right onto the restaurant to enjoy a meal after a day out on the water. Through and through a delicious seafood stop adored by locals for good reason. Now go enjoy some delicious oysters Rockefeller as you watch the sunset!

Happy hour food prices were great. $.69 oysters/$5.99 wings/$9.99 1/2 lbshrimp/ 10.99 1/2 lb crab claws. Only had She Crab soup off of the menu, it was good, I've had better though. The bartender was friendly but not very attentive, had to get our own napkins, ketchup, didn't get any extra crackers w/oysters. He forgot my friend ordered fries until they showed up. Waited on beer a few times. *there were 6 people at the bar plus the 2 of us*

Great location and setting! We say outside on a deck beside the water; boats pass right by. Food was delicious and service friendly. My only complaint was That we were still hungry after large entree platters. My daughter’s Oysters Rockefeller were great, but the lack of sides included made for a skimpy meal. My large platter had two small corn ears, but the shrimp, clams, mussels which filled the platter was basically mostly shells. Naturally, shells are to be expected, but if a basket of bread had been included our appetites would have been satisfied. The most filling item was my younger daughter’s popcorn shrimp and mac-n-cheese child’s plates. In short, the setting is perfect; but we paid a lot of money and we left still hungry. I would return, but I’d study the menu in advance to order more filling items.

Always have had a good experience. The food is well prepared and tasty. I’ve found however that the same dish may be slightly different each visit. The wait staff isn’t always very friendly or even knowledgeable. Also we’ve had some long waits on our orders. But they know their stuff in the seafood department. Order the hush puppies if you like them anywhere else because these are usually cooked very well. The fish tacos are pretty good. 👌 I got the mahi and they were just a bit spicy. Very hard to find something negative to say about Chicks. Never had a menu item I didn't like. Prices are a little high but worth every penny. Great seating options with open-air floor plan. Very large bar space. Service can be a little slow but can be attributed to the fact that they're always busy. Accessible via boat or vehicle. Complimentary valet parking (required). Will be tough getting in here during peak weekend hours so plan accordingly.

My family and I came to Chick's for dinner. We have been to Chick's for years. This night both my wife and my food was just okay. My wife ordered the bronzed tuna. She said that it was okay. I ordered the crab cakes. I always order the crab cakes at Chick's. They are my favorite crab cakes in Hampton Roads. This evening the crab cakes were just okay. The were missing something. The flavor was off. The crab cakes were just average. The kids loved their shrimp and sweet potato fries. Everyone has an off night. Chick's is a great restaurant. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope the next time we visit our food would be better.

We had a great experience at Chick's, this is one of the places you can bring an out of town friend and it sets a tone for VA Beach bright spots. Despite being very busy, the food came right away, and in the meantime you can watch the boats go by, enjoy the sun and water if you are seated outside. The food was good as always. Their key lime pie is delish. I didn't have any of their cocktails but the table next to us had several and they seemed happy enough to have several rounds. Definitely a gem in VA Beach. Service was excellent and the servers are very nice.

I love chicks deck and you you just can’t beat having the sun setting over the water as you enjoy dinner with your family and friends. The food was not as good as it used to be the last two times I went. We had to ask to redo tuna bites as they came very dry. The seafood platter wasn’t too great either. My wine glass came with lip print on it but they replaced it once I pointed it out. When they have live music, it adds to a good vibe. I loved this place when I lived in VB but it needs some improvement in the kitchen.

Fun, no frills place with a great location. We tried the 1/2 doz local oysters. Not my favorite. Lots of broken shell in it. Had to dig out the meat and separate it from the broken shells. Our favorite was the blackened crab cakes. I had the crab cake sandwich and my daughter had the crab cake dinner. Both were amazing. 10/10. The hush puppies were the best I've ever had!

As the owner of a marketing agency with a comprehensive solution it pains me to go to this Restaurant. We love buying local and love Va 🏖. “The Marina” is amazing; great combination of steamed shrimp, oysters, mussels and snow crab legs. Great for group sharing and plenty of food to share. Great scenery of the river and complimentary valet parking. Go to the Marlin Room for set yourself dining area if the main dining area is packed. The service staff is great and the drink selection is alright, with a large amount of "crushes" as their staple, which is really nothing more than mixed drinks on the rocks. The biggest negative is the overall atmosphere and clientele, with a strong bro theme going and a fairly young crowd. The place is essentially a hook up hang out with everyone peacocking around, which is fine if that's what you want your night to be.

We went with our small family for an early lunch & Cheyenne was our server. She made us feel very welcome & her timing was impeccable. My husband and I have always loved this spot on the water & have been coming here for years, more so when we lived nearby. We were on our way back from OBX heading home to Richmond trying to decide where to grab something delicious with a great atmosphere. We both thought of Chick's! We didn't want our vacation to end, so we agreed that Chick's was the best spot to feel like we are still on vacation. So we brought our 13 year old daughter here with us so she could see what the fuss is all about. She loved everything about this place...the food, the servers, the view, the atmosphere, etc. She fell in love with all that we love about Chicks. My husband & I had the blackened tuna tacos & the wedge salad. It was all perfect! And sitting outside on the water was the best part!

Amazing food. Crab legs are way to expensive. Two claws $24 and no sides with it. I was disappointed but the crab cakes made up for it...our waitress wasn't seen again after she took our order and our food was brought to us. Another waitress brought us drinks. Gave a 3 star because of service. I ask where our waitress one girl said she was sick. Ok why didn't someone let us know? We sat there thirsty during our meal. We finally ask another waitress for help. We waited awhile to get our ticket. People who came in after us left before us. Would have purchased more drinks from the bar, but wasn't around to take our order. 3 waitress for one meal. Again food was amazing.

This is a fun place to eat and hang out. They have a large variety on their menu and although it's a Seafood restaurant, they accommodate vegans. I asked them to modify a vegetarian dish to be vegan, and not only were they happy to do it, it was delicious. When friends come to visit, we now always go to Chic's so that I can eat here. The service is good and we love the atmosphere. You can watch the sunset on the water. I highly recommend.

The first time in my life, I can give a 5first of all the atmosphere was fantastic. People of all races ages, etc. Service was unbelievable. And very pro military. My nephew was re enlisting his father myself is fiance, etc. Were down there to not only support him but to celebrate. Thank you chicks, oyster bar. For making it that much more over the top.

It's hard not to like this local gem. With open windows on all sides that allow a breeze no matter the weather. You're sure to enjoy the atmosphere. With local beach, military, police and fire memorabilia as decorations you are humbled to drink and eat here. The staff is almost always on point. Grapefruit crushes!!!!

Awesome atmosphere with good food. Lots of boating traffic if you sit outside on the dock. Also a fun place to hang out at night. Family restaurant by day with a nice bar scene at night. And this place is HUGE! It just goes on and on and on.

Haven't ordered anything I don't like yet. Their wings are superb and the wait staff is fun and polite. Down to earth feel and they also offer an "outdoor" eating area that is covered and heated during cold days. Great place for families with kids.

Some days good(not great), some days just OK. Disconcerting to see hired sheriff deputies and designated Security on a Sunday night. They do NOT make the best orange crushes as mentioned in other reviews, mainly because like their food and service it is inconsistent. I see a sad glide path occurring reflective usually of owners taking their eye off the ball. It used to be a place I would bring out of town guests. I have fond memories of this place I hope it changes for the better.

Love this place, went the other day with my boss and we set on the deck, it was cool watching the boat go by and looking at the water. I ordered the crab cake blt, it was so delicious. They gave me more than enough bacon and the crab cake was huge! Everything was awesome. I also grabbed a couple orange crushes lol.

Came back for the wings tonight. Tried the Thai Chili flavor and it was really good. Only complaint, I asked for them to be crispy and there were a few but the rest are going home to the air fryer. Best sweet potato fries around though! Also, our waitress, was in it. 2 for 2 in that area

It was a beautiful day on the water. The food was delicious. We had the steamed combo as well as the steamed oysters. Service was just right. Not too little or too much. Very enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

The view is awesome. The food is good, but not as great as I expected based on other reviews. The service is a bit slow. The food choices are great for adults out for dinner and drinks, but children's choices are limited and not as creative. I would have to skip this spot in the future.

Well fast forward 9 years and we still make our way either by boat or car, Chicks is worth the drive from Yorktown for us! Staff and food are the best of the Beach! Don’t forget to sit outside, you might just see some dolphins.

Valet parking, only waited 2 minutes for a table, great beer selection, food is excellent, beautiful water views of the Lynnhaven River and Alan the manager will take very good care of you. Not much else to say except head for Vista Circle.

I ate there a number of times while living in Norfolk and never got a bad meal the food was always hot, fresh, and great and always had a great service. However it is WAY WAY WAY overpriced though and valet parking only which is just so dumb. Great meal but be prepared to shell out some money for a meal here plus the tip for the stupid valet. Great food, atmosphere, and location but save up for a trip to this place cause it's not cheap for the meal and all the tipping you have to do.

Great good, great staff, and even better customer service! I forgot to get a sticker for my collection and when I got home I reached out to them. Without hesitation they got my address and in two days not only did I have a sticker but they mailed me a koozie also!!! I couldn’t be more thankful!

Good drinks. Service was sketchy, sometimes great sometimes you had to wait for the bartenders to stop talking amongst themselves to get a drink. Tons of TVs for sports, Cornhole outside, docks were all things that made this place great. It also makes me overlook the bar service.

So good, we like the overhang patio bc it's right on the water and a gorgeous view! The crab dip was to die for with these yummy, fresh, hot old bay homemade toast points. Loved the fresh fish of the day, I had mahi but they had 3 other choices. Great seafood, great drinks, great view!

Great spot to watch the sun set. Tiki bar was great area for dinner & Orange Crush (don't miss that). Food was good - had Oyster's & Buffalo wings. Parking is Valet & very fast. There is no charge for parking.

Oysters had excessive shell pieces. No tobasco no vinegar. No clams on the menu whatsoever. Would have expected much better broiled crabcakes - coleslaw was watery and not well seasoned. 1 star for the food, 5 stars for the fast courteous service. Frankly, Red Lobster has better food.

Decent, 80% of our group's food order came out... and then 35 minutes the last few dishes followed. Mandatory "complementary" valet parking doesn't really use the space that much better and is a pain for any local military/govt with classified artifacts within. Felt very awkward/Caddyshack. Drinks were good, server was overwhelmed... to be honest I imagine my experience would normally be better which is why I do not give this place a 2/5. If I revisit and discover a better experience, I'll update my review. (Doubt I'll be back there however as it is not local to where I live) 1. Do not recommend unless you live nearby and are leveraging proximity. 2. Whole Foods has a better oyster bar and great prices in comparison suprisingly 3. Felt like a restaurant reliant on location and tourists to stay in business... locals would demand better

Very popular local spot. Didn't much care for the "valet parking only". The food was decent, I loved the fresh schucked oysters, however my brother got sick the next day. After dinner hours the outside bars were SLAM PACKED full of young people having drinks and good times. This place really does live up to its name too.. I've never seen so many attractive women in once place before!! I will definitely be back!
