The restaurant is very big and well decorated. The staffs were helpful and friendly, no “very” here. There were huge food selections from appetizers to a variety of seafood to desserts. The snow crab legs was one of the highlights of the restaurant. They were at a fairly large size, some tasted sweet. The other dishes were OK. Compared to other buffet restaurants, the food quality here was better. But buffet is buffet, it is not as good as a regular seafood restaurant that you order your food and eat. Including the tax and tip, it is about $60-$70 per person. I think I may have a much better meal in a regular restaurant.

Awesome experience! Not just a restaurant, definitely an experience. The buffet is expensive, but totally worth it if you come hungry. The prepared foods are good but still buffet quality. The real star of the show is the all-you-can-eat Alaskan snow crab legs, and they do not disappoint. Delicious! The service was great. Highly recommend if you're looking for seafood while visiting the VA beach area.

At $50 pp, the food and atmosphere better be good. It was! Selection was amazing. From all the salads to the entrées and the rounded dessert items, there's plenty to eat for the seafood lover as well as the non-seafood lover. But make no mistake, the draw is the king crab legs. I love the crab meat but it takes too long to dig it out, put it in butter and eat enough of it to fill you up. I helped my daughter crack some open while I tried all the other options! Dress is casual. A great part of the meal was the service and the beautiful ceilings and decor. We would only go there once during our vacation (lots of food) but we will go back again to make it tradition. Relax, sit back, check out all the options before grabbing a plate, and just relax.

We have never been to a seafood buffet but the food here was absolutely amazing our little girls wouldn't eat enough for paying that much for a buffet so we got them their own little kids plate which is only $10 a piece. Us and all of our older children got the buffet. Everyone absolutely loved the food, went back for more, got dessert and loved it as well. The place is very nice, great for casual or date night or family night even. It is a little pricey, but it is well worth the cost! You get what you pay for!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Very nice seafood buffet. Price is "market price" so it fluctuates, but for us it was $47 each. The assortment of food was great, and it was all very good. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend Captain George's.

Seafood galore! If you love crab legs then this is the place for you. I came here for an early dinner on a Monday. Good variety of seafood options from fried clams, oysters and shrimp. The Cajun boiled shrimp & crab legs were too salty for my taste, plain crab legs were a better option. Save room for dessert, there are almost as many varieties as the seafood. The salad bar was sufficient.

Was in town for work and a good coworker suggested we try this place. He said it won’t be cheap but it has great service and it’s got good quality all you can eat buffet. He was right on the money. Super clean plenty of seating that’s spread out for convenience. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food quality was excellent. We had a large party of over 10 and we’re easily accommodated. The seafood dishes were all great and the large king crab was the show stopper for most of us. If you don’t want seafood there are plenty of other American style dishes to satisfy just about anybody. Can’t go wrong here but you will spend a little bit extra but you are definitely getting what you pay for at a place like this. Cheers!!

I love Captain George’s for the variety of Seafood items and dishes you can try. They do a good job with keeping the dishes filled. They have a sanitizing station and gloves at the start of the line, however it’s not enforced and some people walk past it and get in line. As long as you care for yourself and sanitize before eating you should be good. Bar area is clean and the servers keep your drinks filled and check on you often. Disappointed that they don’t have the ice cream machine as I have always loved ending my meal at with a twisted cone when going to the other locations. This location also has a sports bar area if you want seafood and watch the game.

Good food, the servers were very pleasant and kind and great! It is $50 each per person for the buffet. We had a few picky eaters/small eaters with our group and was able to order food off the menu which was cheaper. The kids menu was perfect for my daughter who doesn’t each much. The other people in the group ate plates, and plates full of seafood from the buffet, they all loved the food. This was our first time here, our server that helped us out, and kept checking on how we were doing, was named Travis! He was the greatest!! One of the teenage picky eaters who got the buffet never had a crab leg before, and Travis made sure he tasted one before we left. Which he ended up them liking it. 👏 Travis was a great gentleman that made the atmosphere so much better!! Place has a variety of foods on buffet and menu to order! Definitely will come again!

I love seafood! Perfect place to satisfy yourself and make you happy when it comes to eating. Seafood plus Buffet makes one perfect combination and I live to eat. Captain George gave my life a whole new meaning because I have fulfilled my wish to get a taste of the perfect crab legs. Believe me when I say that all their food there was great so are the bbq pork ribs, tender roasted brisket, and exotic soft shell crab. As an avid buffet eater, my dream to travel the country in search for distinctive flavors and memorable experiences is reaching fruition. After driving from California to Virginia to attend my mom's 70th birthday, the dining experience in Captain George's Seafood Restaurant in Virginia Beach makes my dream of being in food heaven come true.

From beginning to end everything was wonderful. Servers standing in wait, food steaming hot, soup flavorable and plenty, but most of all worth every dime spent. By the way the cobblers were hand made. Real banana pudding, none of that cool whip and Jello Banana Pudding mix. Custard cooked on the stove. Satiated, we were! The well known establishment was very clean. Staff was very professional, friendly and efficient. Management was doing their thang. Front and center!! When in the area again, we will be back!

What can I said that’s already been spoken by thousands of great reviews? If prime rib and steaks is on the menu, I would give 5* until they ran out of crabs and that is something they rarely do. Wife and I enjoyed our Virginia beach vacation and Captain George Seafood was on our list of dining. Overall, great selections of delicious food and the service staffs were top notch, highly recommended! For those too busy to look up prices on their website, it is $46 per person and let me tell ya, money well spent!

I haven't been to a buffet since Covid happened. Always loved Captain George's & I still do!! We went on a Friday night. It may be pricey $$$$, but I eat my money's worth in Crab Legs alone! Buying crab legs by the pound is expensive. You pay for the weight of shells. I'd rather go here where they're already steamed & get the delicious melted butter. Even the Cajun style legs are cooked to perfection!!! Everything was hot, fresh, and constantly rotating. It was busy, but we didn't have a wait for a table of two. I'd go here anytime as a splurge!!! 5+ stars!!! 🤩😀😻

Walking in, you feel like you're walking into a 5-star restaurant . They have plenty of souviners and shirts of all types for everyone you can purchase that are super cool for all ages. The stained glass celelings they have in the separate rooms give it an elegant feeling. The buffet for all you can eat has almost everything the average person would eat (even the picky ones) . There were many seafood options as well as a regular buffet option. If you're looking for a bang for your buck, I would highly recommend this place. The service is amazing Christy was great!

It was very busy for a Saturday night but my son and I were seated with drinks within 20 minutes. Everything was fresh and the crab legs were amazingly tasty. We had drinks and the buffet and we always tip for food service so this wasn’t cheap but…this was a memorable dining experience we will talk about for years.

Where to begin! Service excellent, food excellent, atmosphere excellent!! I must say the Delmonico Steak, is by far the best steak ever, tender, flavorful. Our server i believe her name was Bryce, she was very attentive to us, polite Thanks for making our date night a pleasure!

This is a must if you come to Virginia Beach. The buffet includes a wide selection of seafood and other delicious choices. From snow crab legs, shrimp, oyster Rockefeller, clams, mahi mahi, salmon, Crawfish, she crab soup, prime ribs, BBQ ribs..too many to list. The service is always great and the atmosphere is casual. I highly recommend the Virginia Beach location.

As a solo diner, I enjoyed the bar atmosphere. I had a simple chili and queso/chips instead of a meal. Both were delicious - including the fresh chips! I will be back for a real meal!

You m not sure what happened. I know I stuffed myself silly but I didn’t feel like I tried everything. I felt as if there was more. The food was tasty. The crab legs were steamed properly. The steaks were smothered and I didn’t see any friend onions or other choices of steak cooked options. I was a little disappointed compared to my visit to the one located in Williamsburg. As a fair comparison we will go back in 90 days and reevaluate this location. I just felt empty when I left. The food at this location was about average. Nothing stood out. Nothing jumped off the Buffett line.

Well cooked steamed, baked , boiled and fried seafood as well as poultry and pork. Lots of vegetables and delicious desserts such as cobblers, cheesecake and fruit. Worth the $49. Seafood is expensive these days!

This is a classic restaurant to get all you can eat crab legs. I’ve been coming here for the past decade since I was a wee boy and I’ll say it’s almost as good as it’s always been. There is a huge assortment of food so if somehow you’re coming here not to eat crab legs or looking for a filler/break plate you’ll find the right food. Now to the crab legs. Honestly they’re just great. Full of flavor and cooked just right so it’s easy enough to get into the meat. One issue I’ve noted though is that recently, they’ve been adding batches of very salty crab legs. Clearly deliberate and intended to encourage customers away from the most expensive and token dish which is annoying. The cheaper dishes taste amazing though but idk how I feel about that bc I want CRAB LEGS. Tables are slightly too small for the amount of crab legs you’ll go through and discard, but staff goes quick in cleaning your table. If you’ve never eaten seafood where you have to work for the food, keep in mind it’ll be very messy. There’s only one bathroom at the front which can get real busy because well it’s a messy experience. Would recommend coming here at least once in your life though.

We went and enjoyed the meal for Thanksgiving. Many traditional staples along with Captain George's fare you are used to. Our server was okay but didn't check on us often enough. We appeared to be her only table in the section which seemed around the corner from all her other tables. My drink went dry for more than 30 minutes. Overall it was challenging because some tables were very loud and there isn't a lot of room to negotiate especially near the more popular options. There were some condiments that weren't strategically placed so you had to navigate the crowd for things as simple as cocktail sauce because it was in a different section. We truly did enjoy the meal and appreciate how difficult it is to manage the magnitude of this holiday meal for such a crowd. The line as we left was long enough we wouldn't have stayed had it been that long when we got there. You really can't beat the place for what you get and it wasn't much more than we'd spend on making our own at home. No clean up after. No leftovers is kind of a downer but not a reason not to go. Thanks to the staff for our meal and no all you all did collectively to serve it!

When we arrived li e was around the building. But there was an officer at the back of the line. He was extremely nice. Had no issues just there as a courtesy to the patrons of the restaurant. The line went extremely fast took us around 35-40 minutes to get in and this was on a Saturday night. The buffet was kept up to the highest standards. There was someone attending the buffets to make sure they were full and wiped down. Food was all cooked to perfection. The crab legs were the highlight. Again cooked to perfection. Cracked them with ease and were not spongy. They were sweet and succulent and in abundance. Our Waiter spot on. Watched our drinks and cleaned our table when plates were finished. Cost seemed high at $49.95 per adult. But was not for the options, variety on the buffet and the service. It was well worth it. The restaurant is going on our restaurants to revisit when in the area. This is a must go destination for your bucket list for seafood at the beach ⛱️. Highly recommended!

Food was ok..found that a lot of the crab dishes were not real crab but actually flavoured Alaskan Pollock..Mardarin in Canada is so much better for variety and temperature of food..things that should have been hot at Captain George's were just warm...very expensive for what was on the buffet..worked out to almost $200.00 CAD with 20% tip for 2 people..side note...our server Paul G. was incredible

Our server was great, the 3 of us got the buffet. I liked that they had options for people who aren't big on seafood and there must have been at least 10 different desserts which was my favorite part. My only complaints were it was very expensive for the buffet but I get it, I mean seafood and steak are expensive but $50 is a little much I think. Also quite a few items on the buffet we're barely warm or cold when they should have been hot. Taste was on point and we had no problems with our service. Overall we had a nice lunch.

It was my first time. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, prompt, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and made good suggestions. The buffets were kept neat, full and were very clean. Although, the majority of the food was surf, they also had a nice variety of turf items (sirloin steak, ribs, chicken). The food was plentiful and there was a good variety all the way down to the desserts. All of it well prepared and very tasty. I would definitley go back as well as recommend to others.

Decided to go here during a business trip to Norfolk. I had heard good things about this place and had visited the MB location many years ago. Well let me sum up just okay and very expensive. There is an abundance of food from large crab legs to macaroni and cheese. Do not be turned off if not seafood lover as there are land selections also. I guess my biggest gripe was all the food seemed to have been sitting for awhile and was just barely warm. Some trays were almost empty. We were there about 6pm which should not have been an extremely slow time. But all was edible and tasty. But don't expect this to be priced like a Golden Corral or Old Country buffet. Our bill was over 60 dollars per person for just warm okay seafood and sides. I guess I was expecting a bit more. The waitress was attentive and kept our drinks refilled. But that was about it. Glad I tried this place but won't be going back.

Best Seafood and Restaurant Staff 🥳 The Snow Crab legs were delicious. The Beef Brisket was delicious and the Ribs. Our waitress was attentive and great information for some first timers. Clean and beautiful Restaurant. You guys do a Great Job and it shows. One of the few who are Consistent with their Brand after Cov. Other places have fallen off. Again! This place was awesome just like the last two we visited in Myrtle Beach and kill devil hills N.C. the service was excellent! The food was amazing! The staff were attentive and patient, if your drink got low you might look away one moment and when you look back your drink is full and there's no one around they're just that good! My very first visit was OUTSTANDING at CAPTAIN GEORGE'S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. We traveled all the way from NORTH CAROLINA In celebration of my friends birthday he wanted seafood. We researched many locations in Virginia Beach and CAPTAIN GEORGE'S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT was the only one with a VARIETY. My friend absolutely enjoyed himself so much. I'm VEGAN and I almost thought there was no hope for me while there, but our waitress AMANDA accommodated me so well. When I say this young lady went out of her way to make sure I was served all VEGAN...especially no butter....SHE DID THAT!!! THANK YOU AMANDA SO MUCH!!!! Atmosphere was beautiful, customer service was spectacular and the food was so FRESH WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!!!!!

Buffet is $41.95 pet person including alaskan snow crab legs. Food and service was good. Coke products and tea are an extra $2.99. We went on a Tuesday around 5 and there was no line. In the area we sat there was a beautiful stain glass dome above our table. You have to wear a mask when not at your table and wear clean gloves when you go to the bar.

If your a sea food lover, this is the spot. All you can eat crab leg buffet at 49.99$ is priced the same as any other crab buffet you'd find but they have an additional 70 items on the line to choose from and the restaurant itself is huge and beautiful. 5 stars tonight as usual.

Everything was amazing!!! The vibe was great and staff were very accommodating and professional. You could tell the management was super well organized. Super quick to handle accidents(I accidentally spilled a coke lol) It definitely felt more higher end than how it priced. Food was very tasty and fresh. This place can be hit or miss depending on when you come. This recent visit was not good at all compared to the other times I came, so I gave them 4 stars. You can expect a buffet place to be busy, but it seems like people were out of control. People were holding up the line because something was out, and people were constantly bumping into each other. Some customers were coughing into their hands and touching the tongs to get food. Only a handful of people used the sanitizing station before touching anything. The crab legs were not consistent, some was salty while some tasted like they were old. I would return because it is not always chaotic like this last experience.

Love the renovation decor. Service good. Food was mediocre though. I love the glove idea and wish it was enforced, saw too many people at the buffet without gloves on. It should be told at seating and someone monitoring the line. Food was ok, crablegs were small and rubbery.

Very nice buffet restaurant which specializes on seafood. The restaurant is divided into a traditional family style restaurant and a more sports bar restaurant which shows games (football) not available on television. Buffet is all you can eat, and it is pricey at about $50 a person. The waitress is excellent by routinely swaping out dishes, bucket, and asking drinks. Great place for a more special occasion, but not necessarily a casual dining experience.

Went here on Saturday around 6pm. We were waiting list number 35 but the line was disappearing pretty quickly. The reason I gave three star is because of my husband. My husband can't eat seafood but he came with me anyway because the menu said there would be ribs, steak, and briskets. He waited for an hour and haven't seen any brisket. We could've asked the manager but my husband didn't want to cause any trouble so I ate and he had some mac and cheese and non seafood stuff. I know it's a seafood buffet but we were expecting them to have non seafood menu that the website says it will have.

My first time in years dining at Capt. George's. The inside was beautiful and the display of 70+ seafood options was mouthwatering. Sage was an excellent server, Polite and knowledgeable. The food was good. Probably wouldn't return though. But would recommend to a seafood lover.

As at the OBX and Williamsburg locations, the food was delicious at the VA Beach Captain George's. I highly recommend these restaurants to any seafood lover. What was lacking here that isn't at the other locations is service. It took 20 minutes for our waitress to show up to take our drink orders. She was rarely on the floor and never really came back to check on us. We had to keep flagging her down when we saw her and hope she would return with our requested items. When I asked for a to-go cup of water, she rolled her eyes and said, "I guess." I can't say anything about the remainder of the staff, although they were on the floor more than she was. So, perhaps it was just our bad luck to get the not so great server.

I would like to say Captain George's was good BUT inside of the building was very unsafe. Everywhere there were steps they did not have any handrails making it very hard for my wife to go up and down the steps. I had to help her each time she got something to eat. Anybody could have gotten hurt without any handrails going up or down steps especially holding a plate of food. This should be addressed to see if it is a safety item.

Our server, Stacie E., was very attentive. Excellent throughout the entire meal. She came back and refilled drinks as well as checking in yo see that all needs were being met. Never ending food! From huge crab legs to Mac n Cheese to chocolate chip cookies! Very yummy. Huge place, I loved the different areas for seating...and the multi colored glass ceiling was beautiful!

I love coming to Captain George's for the delicious seafood with my family for special occasions. Unfortunately at the Virginia Beach location, the tables are so close together, that people bump into your chair when walking by, and the noise level is so high, you can hardly hear what the person sitting next to you is saying. I love going to Captain George’s every time I am near VA beach! This restaurant has spectacular food and is worth the price. You can do the all you can eat buffet for $36.99 and you can keep the glass for some of the alcoholic beverages. If you are going in a group of 4 or more, make sure you call in ahead of time! Luckily there was only one other person with me, but the line was literally out the door and around the corner (Shown in pictures). It can get very busy depending on when you go.

First time here and had a total blast. Buffet styled sea food haven. And I mean that in every sense of the word. First thing I noticed was the traffic. You can tell how good or affordable a place is by the sheer number of people. This is both in my opinion. Adults are charged about $38 and kids about $20 (as imagined larger parties like ours got charged a gratuity with the bill - 15%). You also pay a one time fee per soda glass ($3), so plan accordingly. We we're a party of 8 and throughout, we had a very pleasant waiter constantly refilling our glasses and emptying our baskets. There's free parking on the premises. But what impressed me the most was the quality of the food. In my opinion, the food was really really tasty. Well made and not just a quantity thing but a quality thing. I'll be coming back here again for sure when next I'm in Virginia.

First time going to Captain George's Seafood, Virginia Beach VA. Make sure your HUNGRY the "all you can eat buffet" restaurant had abundance of dishes and desserts to choose from. No shortage there. Nautical atmosphere clean & cheerful. Waiter and waitress very friendly. Siding our table frequently so no dishes build-up at the table. In addition to all you can eat there is also a sports bar and grill. Possibly a gathering place for a private event but call to verify. This seems to be quite a popular place on Sunday as the parking lot was quite full, very limited handicap parking. Overall I will visit again when visiting Virginia.

While on vacation in Norfolk Va we took a night to go to Va beach to walk around the board walk . well as nice as that sounds we couldn't find parking any place to do so so we could eat . we ended up at Captain George's . What a great pick food was awesome . they had anything from seafood to beef .it was a very nice buffet . Even at $40 a plate well worth the money . Fast service very clean , and even during this pandemic we felt very comfortable . we waited about 20 min for our table . all the food was hot and fresh . If we are in that area again we will go back there to eat for sure !

Nice atmosphere, nice place, good food, but it is extremely expensive. As expensive as they are, you would think kids would eat free but no they have to be 2 years old or younger for free. There is no way a child of any age could eat that much food to justify the cost. I'm not even sure what an adult can eat would justify the cost of a meal there. But there you have it for a good meal at a very expensive cost enjoy!!

The regular and Cajun crab legs were very good so if you are anything like me and all you care about is 🦀 than you are set !!! The dessert options were very good and they had some pretty amazing Mac and cheese . The main issue I have here was the reason I came....crab legs. The crab legs were pretty much cold by time you got them back to the table. Delicious seafood! I’m from Louisiana and I always a have problem with the way people boil seafood because the flavor isn’t there, but at Captain George’s Seafood the seafood is boiled to almost perfection! The crawfish need to sit in the boil a little more to let more flavor soak in, this would eliminate the water taste. Also, I would suggest using Louisiana liquid seafood boil instead of old bay. Old bay sits on the outside the seafood rather than soaking all the way in, BUT the Cajun crab legs still have A LOT of flavor! The selection of seafood offered at captain George’s is like no other! The desert bar is huge! The America food variety is also large! All in all this restaurant has delicious food for EVERYONE! This is our “go to restaurant” in Virginia Beach!

Fantastic seafood buffet! Oodles of food available. Several kinds of fish, fried chicken, Oysters Rockefeller, marinated top sirloin, all kinds of shrimp, and - of course - lots of crab legs! It's not cheap, but it's a great experience. They now have four locations: Virginia Beach "main" I'll call it, Virginia Beach "secondary" (the Pungo location), one in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and one more in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Totally enjoyed dinner there!

Dear diary, once again I was feeling the need for real seafood while driving down the strip enjoying the breeze and the sun. I remembered years ago when the family use to gather at the old Captain George’s buffet. I really was wondering if they had maintained such a high level that they themselves had set just a few years ago. It sets a little off the main drag. About ten minutes. Now I happen to get there on a day where their wait was nothing more than the hostess grabbing menu and saying follow me. But I remember waiting over two hours once but it was worth it then so let see about now. After we were walked to our table and the high chair brought to our princess we had the pleasure of dining with us. We headed straight for the crab legs. They were so fresh they just snapped in your hands and the meat fell out. The oysters rocks fella were so hot and cheesy with just the right amount of spinach that I think I might have put them on the endangered list after that meal. They had ribs, corn on the cob, potato’s , and all the seafood you can imagine. They even have lobster tails if you ask the server. That right people lobster tails. I felt like I was the king of Norway with so much food at my finger tips. But just when I was almost done. I remembered desert. Home cheese cake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, four or five pudding and cookies. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. And at 40 dollars per person if you love seafood as much as I do it is a must stop while your at the beach. P.s. grandma said she loves you

Always a favorite place of mine in southern VA. My advice? Skip all food until you've had at least 2 plates of crab legs..then feel free to indulge in the rest of the food. I have driven by this place a few times and never seen it slow. Finally today I tried it. I almost couldnt walk after gorging myself on 2 plates of fried oysters, half a plate of shrimp, 2 plates of crab legs, 2 softshell crabs, a spoon full of scallops, a couple ribs, a side of Mac and cheese, and a piece od carrot cake. The food was phenomenal, but the service was hands down the best I haver had. Yes, they have Chick-Fil-a beat. The host was polite when He greeted me. All of tue staff were dressed well. I thought I was WAY underdressed. Dont worry, they dont mind. The young lady that sat me talked the whole time while walking, the waitress was fantastic, and that place ran like a well oiled machine. All of the food was fresh and hot. They even had a nice selection for those who do not eat seafood. All of this was on a Thursday. Im sure the weekends are busier than tonight. This is a MUST for any seafood lover. There was more food to try, but I will save that for another trip. Out of every seafood restaurant I have wver been to, I'd say this one was #3 easy, MAYBE even second best of all time.

Everything would be restocked once they are out. Incredible experience. The dessert was sub par, reason for 4 stars. The freaking service is top notch. Chris was our server and another lady working with her in tandem was very helpful. Busy dinner rush but they come thru clutch. Walked in from the beginning, server and management were there to greet us happily. Last minute went to go buy a tshirt before I left and the attendant helped me look for the shirts I needed. Overall experience and taste of food all hit their mark for me. Can't wait to visit again. Down side I wanted raw oysters, and that's another reason for a 4 star. All and all, still not stopping me from going back for sure. Also, service has been going downhill lately in food industry, but Captain George's Seafood stayed on top.

Captain George's is a great place to eat seafood and all you can eat buffet it's original location is now gone but they have a location in Virginia Beach and one in nags Head North Carolina the only reason I'm giving this three stars is because they have put more filler food on the buffet and seem to be moving towards recipes that fill you up quickly such as pastries seafood salads fried Chicken and other things Captain George's used to be noted for seafood with all you can eat crab legs shrimp scallops fish which they still have but are preparing them in ways that are much different they are good but not so good they're fried more and just do not have the same taste as the old Captain George's with being said with things are today the price is slightly high considering a lot of the foods on their buffet you can get at most Chinese joints much cheaper now the good Captain George's has a great dine-in experience romantic atmosphere and a very clean restaurant with much attention paid to detail of the atmosphere.

This place is awesome. Never been here before, extremely clean, wait staff was super friendly and they have over 70 items on their buffet! If for some reason you dont want all you can eat, they have menus, for kids too! It was packed when we got in there but took less than 5 minutes to get a seat. Crab legs were great and fresh. So, they wipe down the bar from spills and accidents almost immediately. They changed out ALL the spoons at once in the dessert bar and in the traditional food section. I asked why and they said it's their policy to keep germs down and to keep it clean and ready for the customer. I dont think I've been so impressed by a buffet style restaurant. Also they have a bar attached too! Cant wait to go to VA beach during the summer and stop here again. Worth every cent. By the way, we went on a Saturday night. I read some other reviews and they did not put which day they went.

Lovely place as usual. Friday night was not as jam packed as our last visit on a Friday. All the food we tried was prepared well enough for a buffet setting. Really enjoy the fried oysters and scallops. I even tried the fried chicken and it was done well. They have plenty of fresh steamed king crab legs at all times, never a wait for them. Melted butter is a must for the legs. Desserts were surprisingly good. Would've liked to have a bit of ice cream though. Dessert section is a little “meh” since they looked cheap and they don’t have an ice cream as well. Costs $50/person for the buffet in here, make sure to come with an empty stomach to maximize the cost that you’re paying.

Wow very nice big place. Very clean and covid-19 prepared. Service staff was great. Employees wearing mask's. Guests have to wear masks, hand sanitize there hands and wear gloves while getting our food. The buffet was full with probably everything they mention on the website menu and more. The staff kept the food coming. Lots of seafood, salads galore, baked chicken, fried chicken, top sirloin, beef brisket....... just to name some items. It's worth the price. Enjoy....

This was my first time visiting Captain George's Restaurant in Virginia Beach. I was a little hesitant about going to a buffet for seafood but I was pleased and amazed at how good everything tasted. The hostess was nice and very polite. Our waitress, whose name was Stephanie T. was on top of things. We never went without, she checked in on us regularly and cleared our table several times to make sure we avoided clutter from all the crab shells LOL. Things were hot that shoulda been hot and cold that shoulda been cold. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff throughout the entire restaurant was on top of making sure they were cleaning and sanitizing everything constantly.

My 9 and 12 year old absolutely love seafood, so this is a must go to when coming from northern virginia. Spectacular desserts. My favorites are the cooked oyster with spinach and cheese on top, snow crabs, cajun snow crab, mussel, clams, crawfish, rice pudding is nothing short of spectacular, carrot cake, fried oysters. First time in Virginia and I was in the mood for crab legs, one of the first places that show up is Captain George's seafood with a 4.4-4.5 rating and showing $$$ pricing which in most cases is fairly expensive, but I went anyway! Driving up to the parking lot it was evident that it's super popular. It was friday night and the place was packed. After a short wait like 5 min we were seated. I knew exactly what I wanted so I didn't even look at the menu. This place is ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET Feat. Crab legs, cajun crab, steamed crab. Peel and eat shrimp, several other kinds of shrimp. And other seafood. And it was FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! I absolutely enjoyed my meal and I do recommend it!

I hadn’t been to Captain George’s since the Pandemic 😷 even tho it’s my favorite restaurant. It looked magnificent! The new doors and decor are elegant, shiny and clean. The bathroom as well. Most importantly the food was delicious and the service was perfect. Such a kind and wonderful staff. I spoke with two of the most kind hostesses… they were so wonderful that I had to tell the manager about them and our server…Luis. The manager was equally as kind and gave me 2 pretty drinking glasses with the Captain George’s logo. The crab legs are as delicious as I remembered and of course still All-You-Eat. Years ago I believe they described it as a 72 item buffet. The salad bar is delicious as well with steamed shrimp and so much more… it all looks and tastes fresh. The dessert bar is always popular as well. I enjoyed the peach cobbler. I can’t wait to return. I seem to recall the Manager’s name is Mr. Deguzman… he’s doing a great job… the entire does a great job!

Really a quality restaurant, but the price is a bit much. We went in a group of four, (this was our 3rd time here so we were no stranger to the price) it is 35.99 per person, the bill was 200$ after tip, so it's about 50$ a person, that's with a soda and tip. The food is excellent, you'll never see the crab legs go empty, they keep them coming right up and never stop serving! There are bowls in the middle of the table for crab shells and such scraps, very convenient and they will empty them for you just as fast as you can fill it up! Food is definitely high quality, the design on the restaurant is gorgeous, I believe that the Williamsburg location is a lot more beautiful and more of a "fancy dinner" feel while the one in Virginia Beach is larger, and has more of a family night out feel to it. The restaurant is clean and upkept, even with fancy soap scrubs in the restrooms, there is plenty of employees to help, and a gift shop if you really like the place, or if you like hand made soaps! I am rating 4/5 stars because I do love the restaurant, but it can feel crowded, and I feel like they could have a bigger selection of foods.

As seafood lovers we were excited to dine at Captain Georges. From the moment we stepped in the service was exceptional. Our waitress Chris and her team were top-notch. Our plates were cleared quickly and drinks refilled without needing to ask. There was a variety of seafood selections including crab legs (stocked up regularly), fried seafood, deviled crab, crab imperial, shrimp, varieties of fish, etc. There many non seafood items and sides as well. The homemade desserts were very good. I had a conversation with the manager Corey, who was really great. The price was well-worth the food but what stood out the most was the fantastic service.

If you love sea food. This is the place for you. We come here from Fairfax Virginia for the unlimited snow crab. They have everything from crab meat, fried oysters, salmon, shrimp, salad, prime rib, flank steak, fried chicken and huge salad bar and double table of dessert. Adults were about $47.99 and kids 6-12 i believe was $22.95. My nephew was 7 and didn't eat much so you can just order from a kids menu. The environment was calm and the lighting was perfect. They kept everything clean. You had a hand sanitation with gloves before you enter the line to get food. Its very spacious but you already know on the weekends its very pack. Lucky we came on the weekday and it wasn't that crazy long. They had very clean bathrooms and the staff were super friendly. I always recommend this place if you're down here visiting.

10 🌟 if allowed! Definitely recommend if you are a seafood lover and can pack the plates away. Very clean, continuously cleaning the buffet aisles. Replenishing the food was not a problem. The food was very tasty and fulfilling. Something for everyone, including steak! Our waitresses were very pleasant, they were quick on refills,and always had a smile. Desserts were yummy, even had sugar free options. This experience is one I encourage you to try. Can't wait to go back! Sorry with all the crab legs I ate no time for pics.

I went here a few years ago. The ambiance is nice and it was clean. There was a good variety of dishes. The crab legs were the best tasting crab legs I've had in a buffet. They were big and delicious. I noticed quite a few dishes had imitation crab meat. One would figure a seafood restaurant wouldn't use so much imitation crab meat. It was really disappointing to see. We were seated in a busy walkway and it was very uncomfortable because people kept bumping into our chairs as they walked by. Other than that, I relatively enjoyed my visit. It's not the best seafood buffet that I've been to, but they are still decent. I would probably come back again if I was in the area.

The Virginia Beach location was a very large restaurant that can accommodate anyone even large parties. Very clean and the service was very nice and attentive. The buffet was good but not great. Salad bar was fresh but almost empty when I went up the first time yet the second trip to the salad bar, it was filled completely. Fried scallops and fried shrimp were luke warm. The clam chowder and she crab soups were very salty. The salmon I had was good but the crab legs, amazing! Desert was delicious, cherry cheesecake, peach cobbler, chocolate chip cookies were all fantastic. $49.99 per person is a little pricey but well worth it if you go hungry.

The Original Captain George's! Even though they were doing very good business, we didn't have to wait in line to be seated. The staff were welcoming & friendly. The food was really good, they kept all of the hot trays well stocked, there wasn't a wait time for crab legs or other popular items. It IS pricey, but very tasty. Our server Ben did a great job of keeping our tea glasses filled & stopping by to check on us. All in all a nice meal & a pleasant experience.

A Seafood buffet. If you love seafood it's a good idea. For non seafood lovers I would say dine elsewhere. For the price you have to pay for the buffet, the non-seafood items are NOT worth going. The desserts were also bland.

Looks can be deceiving. I have visited the Myrtle Beach location a few times but was in the Delmarva area and wanted to go down and try this location. A few reviews scattered around here and there stated king crab leg. The website menu says Snow Crab, the actual buffet bar sign says Alaskan King Crab, but they serve Snow Crab. Not really sure why there is so much discrepancy with what they actually serve. $50 a person plus drinks. Our server Lo was awesome and kept our drinks full even if we were only halfway done them. Great service. Crabs were good but the rest of the food didn't seem very great. Myrtle Beach location has more tasty and fresher tasting buffet style foods. Overall, not a bad experience but still prefer Myrtle Beach over this location.

Captain Georges is always a favorite. Even in COVID they are making things work. Always have a lot of snow crab legs, fried shrimp and scallops. A salad bar, plenty of desserts (if you make it that far) plus a ton of other seafood faves! They have a full bar so getting your drinks is easy as pie. Service was great! My wife and I are glad we found this place in Virginia Beach. We had the buffet and my wife doesn't like seafood but she said it's the best "seafood buffet" she's ever eaten at. She found a lot more food than just seafood. Everything was fresh and tasty. Have to give you fair warning, it's a bit pricey ($100 for both of us together), but the food is delicious. We love going to a beach and always try to find a good buffet so I don't really worry about the price when we find one, no matter which beach we're at. Anyway, Captain George's won't disappoint in quality.

The only problem we had was that when we pay for our bill, the waitress ask if there was anything else. We ask for a Togo cup for my son and she never came back with it. Went here with a couple of my homies, most notably John, on the 4th. All of us walked in and were seated almost instantly. We all got the buffet and also got crab legs with steak. John ate >400$-500$ worth of crab legs alone and was congratulated out back behind the dumpsters with fireworks and applause! He seemed to enjoy it so much he didn't want to come back inside :). The crab legs were amazing, and the sirloin is an easy recommendation to anyone :)

The problem however was the bathroom. The "handicapped " was way to narrow and small to use effectively. The toilet was very low as well.

I have to eat gluten free. Not many choices. Service was great, shrimp was overdone and tough, crab legs were great, fish choices were old and over done, only desert I could have was rice pudding. I asked for broiled scallops and was told basically that if I got the scallops then no buffet for me. Their website says they will cater to gluten free request. Oh well, $50 lesson learned.

Our wait staff Ben and Johnathan were awesome they worked well together ❤ Food was hot and there was plenty crab legs TASTY and the hushpuppies looked like donuts 💚 Gloves and sanitizer were on hand and clean bathrooms. The buffet was kind of expensive, but it offers the chance to get any and all of the crab, oyster, steak and amazing bbq ribs the menu has to offer. Ive been to both of this location and the Virginia Beach location and both are top notch. It’s a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. It’s a great option for a seafood buffet with plenty of other options. Everything is fresh and hot and the staff is fantastic. Plenty of tables and parking. All seafood is of great quality and cooked perfectly. I would absolutely recommend to anyone

My first buffet since December of 2019 and I absolutely loved it! Excellent, prompt and attentive service. Kevin was my server for the time and he totally rocked! So yeah...wowza, was the food just as delicious as I'd heard. I stuck with most things sea and I'm okay with that. Everything was flavorful and cooked very well for it to produced at that capacity. It is a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get. Adding it to my list of places to visit again before my trip ends, for sure.

The food and the service was absolutely amazing. 4 stars because the dessert was lacking and $50 a person is a bit steep. Likely won't go again because of the price. Our party of 4 costs $270. The pitcher of sangria was delicious and surprisingly only $20.

I love that it's AYCE however the quality of the food is not as great as I had anticipated for the price. Some food was overcooked and other food was not as hot as it sits in the buffet tables. Overall I love crab legs and if you're wanting to eat a ton of crab legs then I suppose the price is on par. There is a TON of seating and a full separate bar as well. I will be back when I am craving crab legs. Otherwise I am not entirely excited about the other food. Lots of fried choices but not with a fresh variety of Oysters. I didn't see lobster or calamari or salmon now that I think about it. There was oysters rockafeller but I prefer them fresh.

This food is okay it's not great. It used to be but not anymore. The prices have gone up to $50 a person $25 for kids under 12. The dishes and silverware was not very clean most of it looked dirty. There was a lot of chaos going on with kids running back and forth from the tables to the buffet. I used to recommend people to come eat here all the time. I won't be doing that anymore.

First off, I’m not a buffet person so I wasn’t too excited to eat here but I was intrigued since the line was always outside whenever we came. For almost two years, every time family came to visit this is where they wanted to eat but the wait/line was always too long so with disappointment in their eyes, we always ate elsewhere. Finally we got smart and decided to make a reservation particularly since it was 14 of us. I think I had too much anticipation for this place. Like I said, we’ve been trying to eat here for too years and now that we finally did, I wasn’t impressed. At the end of the day, a buffet is a buffet is a buffet and like I said, I’m not into buffets. However, I really enjoyed the Mac-n-cheese, crab legs, and the crawfish was Cajun-style/hmmm hmmm good/just like I like them. I’d come back just for those 3 items.

Service was good - our server was busy and it took a bit longer for drinks than I would expect, but she was sweet and engaged my whole party, including my two year old. My husband ordered a Manhattan and while it was decent, he said he would probably not order again as it seemed like a drink the bartender may be unaccustomed to making. Overall, the restaurant was clean and pretty busy for a week night. Would recommend!

But the staff were so kind and professional. The food was stocked and hot at all times, even the music was awesome. Everything we took a bite of melted in my mouth. There were songs that came on that both my dad and I knew. Minor detail but I got the drink that lights up that they recommend and it was also, the best drink I've ever had. You'll never be able to eat $50 worth of food (kids $25.00 which they couldn't and shouldn't eat either) because much of it isn't super tasting or high quality so not sure the value is there. Crab legs are all the rage but they aren't great. The legs don't crack. They're flimsy, small and soft. Rest is kinda so-so. Don't know why people eat cooked oysters but there's a few choices there. No raw oysters. For twice the price the Wynn buffet in Vegas is 10x better and way higher quality and value even though it's $100.

Had lunch @ Captins George, they had a wide selection of seafood as well as favorites.Fried chicken, baked chicken. Mash potatoes, macaroni and cheese. Salad bar had fresh veggies and fruit. Just Georges is not fancy, just good food. You can either order from their menu or go to the unlimited buffet. I ordered Snow Crab from the menu. Perfectly cooked - I'd say succulent! Sides must be ordered separately since this is listed as an appetizer. Our table also got a Delmonico steak and a juicy cheeseburger. Everyone left happy, full, and with a steak doggy bag. It was the most expensive item on our tab, but was enjoyed for two meals.
