Great atmosphere, great service, great food and dessert. Stopped in for a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised. Started out with some duck wings which were fantastic. They had great flavor. Ordered a steak which came out just as I wanted....... medium. The steak wasn't over seasoned and had a nice smoke flavor. It came with nice hand cut fries. We also had a juicy turkey burger with some awesome hand made potato chips. The fresh made juice was delicious as well but they really filled the glasses with lots and lots of ice. Finally the dessert was also great. It wasn't too sweet and had a nice fresh whipped cream. Overall the place was clean. The bathroom was just okay clean.

Came here initially expecting a run of the mill steak place, but it is far from it. Right off the bat, the environment is very comforting and the servers are exceptionally welcoming. The menu is vast and offers many different types of food. My brother and I each ordered an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Everything was phenomenal. Fresh and delicious. The gravy on my chicken and waffles had such a unique flavor that goes so well with the dish. The namesake whiskey cake was one of if not the best cakes, or even best desserts, I’ve ever had. Overall amazing experience and food. Not even that expensive for what it is. We were expecting to pay at least 100 for the both of us, it wasn’t even 80. Not cheap but not overpriced. You certainly get what you pay for, and then some.

What a pleasant surprise. This place will exceed your expectations. The service was phenomenal, the food was delicious, overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody that happens to be in the area. I had the ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, and the sticky toffee cake. Both were way better than I expected, and don't miss out on the homemade vanilla whipped cream with the cake.. it takes it to a whole new level.

Okay so we didn't have any food here but we had drinks and sat at the bar and I've got to give it a five-star review because of the service and the atmosphere. I can't comment on the food but people to the left and right of me both had some food. One lady had the candied bacon and honestly I could smell it and it was spectacular. The lady trying it said it was excellent so I will make it a point to come back here. On a side note our waitress at the bar named Lucy did a spectacular job so hopefully her management sees this and recognizes her we will definitely be back to this place.

It was good, but didn't live up to the hype I had heard. I LOVED the fried green tomatoes. Everything else was good. It was fresh, warm, etc. It was just average to me, like it lacked seasoning. Our server didn't bring us a refill on our drinks the entire time and smelled like Marijuana. I mean her breath, not her body or clothes. It wasn't busy either, or I would understand. She was on her phone talking to other servers. It had a cool atmosphere with the plants and the industrial vibe. For the price of everything, I expected slightly more. I doubt I would go back, and I don't think I would recommend it.

Anytime I visit a new city, I find a place that has chicken and waffles on their menu to see how they add a signature touch. For Whiskey Cake, it's definitely the sausage gravy! Tried it on the side and the consistency is perfect for dipping. The chicken tenders had a decent seasoning on them. Unfortunately they were out of the bacon I really wanted to try. The millionaire bacon that my server Kayla suggested was pretty good, just wish it was more than 2 slices

Whiskey Cake has been one of our favorite places in the Dallas area -- and it's just as fantastic here. They always have very fresh, delicious foods that offer new and interesting tastes. We have tried many dishes over the years and none have disappointed. The drinks here are all quite good, but the real treat is the Whiskey Cake itself! You must try it! In general the service is good; however, occasionally they will be very busy and it's hard for their staff to keep up.

The food is amazing and unique. I love farm to table restaurants. The service was as amazing as the food. I visited during the weekend with a couple of friends and split two appetizers and a dessert. The whiskey cake was big enough to share with three people. I will definitely be back!

Whiskey Selection and food is awesome! I definitely recommend this place. The candied bacon was cooked perfectly and the hot hen sandwich was crispy until my last bite! I will definitely be back again and look forward to trying more of their drinks and food.

We visited for Father's day. We made reservations online and were immediately seated upon arrival. Our waiter was absolutely amazing, extremely polite and interactive with our daughter (always a plus). We ordered mimosas to start,they were spot on.We also has the wabbit smash, very refreshing and the great escape,strong but delicious. Definitely want to try more of their Cocktails. The kiddo had lemonade. For appetizers we had the bacon and jalapeño drop biscuits and the local artisan goods. We really enjoyed those. For meals we had the chicken and waffles, the shrimp and grits and mac and cheese, chicken tenders and salad (kiddo). Overall we had a great experience and will be back for the dinner experience, we had brunch this first visit.

We had an amazing experience! The service was incredible and the food was amazing! We got the double bacon cheeseburger and the tri tip dip, along with the candied bacon, all which were amazing. They also have an extensive whiskey and liquor list and offer tasting flights! All were reasonable priced!

Bartender gave great service. Drinks were really good. I got the Bohemian Raspberry and the Great Escape. I would have shown my food but I ate it before I could even took a picture. I order the Farmer's breakfast. So yummy. I will definitely be back!

This was a great spot some friends and I went to after the bar exam. The drinks were moderately priced. The chicken and waffles were tasty but not very seasoned or particularly flavorful. The music was a little on the louder side for the sit down area but the bar seems like a nice vibe after work or with some friends. The millionares bacon was really delicious.

Food was unexpectedly wonderful!! Flavors were well blended and did not over power each other. On the other hand … The hostess was not friendly, warm or welcoming. She seemed frustrated of our arrival at 1130am. There were plenty of tables available and answered the phone instead of greeting us standing in front of her. Another waitress walked up and just stared at us and didn’t even say hello or welcome us. This was our first impression, which almost drove us away. Thanks to the chefs and cooks - the food definitely outweighed our ‘people’ experience.

The food was amazing but the service was definitely lacking. Our waitress only came by when she had food. But not to check up, refill drinks or make sure we liked it. We didn't get to order our food until after the apps came because someone else brought them and she was no where to be seen. ( us and two other tables were the only people there, the other tables waitress was awesome and kept up with them). We also didn't have drinks at this point and we were sitting outside on a 90 degree day. We only got one refill on drinks and were dying. so overall we may be back for the food. But if we see it's the same waitress we'll have to ask to move.

My first time here and it was for a really great Wellness event. There were a few gluten-free options (I recommend the salmon). The staff was really friendly and attentive... shout-out to Aidan! I noticed there were a couple of desserts (including their famous whiskey cake) on the menu but neither were gluten-free. Overall, I would eat here again. I would love to see more GF options in general and look forward to having more wellness events here too!

Brunch or dinner, this place has great drinks, flavorful food options, and great vibes. It's becoming more popular, so you might want to make a reservation or try getting a seat at the bar. Great place for larger parties or to watch games. And yes, get the actual whiskey cake for dessert... so yummy.

We had a wonderful experience. There is a large spirit collection and several flight choices. The candied bacon and deviled eggs are a must. The charcuterie was amazing. Go easy on the apps they are huge. The whiskey cake is a must. I had to take the cake to go. Our server was great as well.

We visited Whiskey Cake for our Mother’s Day Brunch. The atmosphere was decent. Our avocado toast was very crunchy (overly toasted). My mom & I ordered the shrimp & grits. The shrimp was packed with flavor. The cheese sauce was uniquely tasty…but with the grits, the combination was extremely salty. I would certainly dine here again though, & try something else or ask for light salt.

Nice open bar, lounge concept, relaxing atmosphere, plenty of choice and friendly service. One huge mistake, in my humble opinion, is interior lighting - light bulb filaments all over the place - really bothers making your stay uncomfortable. Reflected light architecture would greatly enhance the experience. Will definitely go back since the overall feeling is positive. 🍸😋👍Cheers

Dropped by for dinner and got down on the shrimp and grits chased with Whiskey Cake! Incredibly tasty food and great service provided by Amber. We didn’t have a reservation resulting in either a 45 minute wait for indoor seating, or the option to be seated on the patio immediately. We opted for the patio even though I was dreading the thought of stagnant Florida humid air making me uncomfortable while trying cram my pie hole. To my shock and surprise, the restaurant had portable AC units on the patio and lots of ceiling fans, I didn’t break a sweat once. Kiddos to whoever in management had the great idea for those portable AC units! I highly recommend stopping here for food and drinks.

Amazing dinner. The food and service were above par . Daughter in law and I had Lobster Mac &cheese and ribeye for my son. The whiskey cake we had for dessert is probably the best cake I've ever had. The cake was big enough for all 3 of us to share.

If you are looking for a decent environment for driving and munching on great food then this is the place. This place has high ceiling and very openly decorated floor with details that will make you want to order drinks. We ordered the sampler platter, chicken, and beef with pasta. They all taste rich and savory. Their drinksbare amazing. Just ask the server what the best drink and if you like fruity and tangy drinks then this is the place. We lastly order whiskey cake and that was amazing. Of course we didn't finish everything as portions weren't small. But worth trying as many as possible to learn more about this amazing place! Afterwards you can walk inside the mall and digest and shop!

Wow! I was very impressed with this restaurant. When I entered, the restaurant was nicely dimly lit and the vibe of the restaurant was very relaxing and inviting. I started with a figgy smalls gin cocktail. I love a good gin cocktail, and this place surely did not disappoint. This drink was made with Amsterdam gin, a touch of cinnamon with subtle fruit notes. It was so good that I ordered 2. I ordered the Thai BBQ duck wings as my appetizer. Now these were incredibly yummy. The duck wings were tender with a crispy skin. The sauce was sweet yet also had a bit of a spice. It was a very good balance. I then had the whisky braised short rib as my main. This was so delicious. The short rib was incredibly tender, not tough at all. It laid effortlessly on a bed of horseradish potatoes, tender roasted carrots, and sweet pearl onions. This was my first time having horseradish potatoes, so I was a bit unsure if I would like them. But, wow! I’m so glad I tried this. No regrets. I ended the meal with dessert. I, of course, ordered the whiskey cake. Y’all have to order this if y’all visit this restaurant! It’s a sticky toffee cake with a bourbon anglaise spiced pecans. This cake was so decadent, moist, and it’s served warm. My tastebuds were having a party at this point in the meal. And they serve this delicious cake with house made vanilla whipped cream! Wow! It was so thick and buttery. I’m salivating just thinking about this whipped cream! I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are at the International Plaza, check this place out. It’s worth it. I went around 12pm on a Saturday, there was no wait. But maybe around 2pm it starts to get busy. So be mindful of that. I’ll definitely be back. The food, drinks, and the service was amazing. My server was very attentive and nice. Y’all need to check this place out. Y’all will not regret it.

What an amazing ambience this bar has. The staff, the food, drinks and dessert. I am in love. I am foodie and thank God the girl Lauren serving us was awesome. I mean specifically I would like to thank her for making sure I enjoyed what I ordered. My friend did help me out coz I did not knew what to order. Must order things the burger OMG 2.O I guess that's what they call it. And dessert should be whiskey cake with the fresh ice cream. I could honestly say the cake just melted the moment I took a bite .. one of my fav place .. now in Tampa. I recommend if you visit Tampa you should visit this place. First off let me say I LOVE this restaurant. The food is always fresh and on point, but sadly the service we received this weekend was so bad. We asked for more pita for our appetizer and didn’t get it until our dinner arrived, and did not get refills or any condiments we asked for which really took away from our meal. It was very frustrating because we saw the table next to us getting attention, but we had to get up to ask for refills. It really took away the shine from our food as we left very unhappy. Usually I don’t write negative reviews but I was told the manager wasn’t available. On a positive note, the hummus is amazing!

Went to whiskey cakes for my sister-in-law's birthday my brother had reservations for six people at 6:00 with confirmation code however they had it for seven 15 or 7:45 I would think you would have to look into why reservations are not matching your confirmation code. However our waiter was awesome I had to shrimp and grits fantastic bought around of lemon drops for my sister-in-law's birthday shot they were on point and delicious bartender definitely knew what they were doing atmosphere great/fabulous everybody enjoyed what was served for dinner that they ordered will definitely definitely recommend this place and we will be back for sure thank you for a great experience

It was a busy night in this crowded hot spot. So most of the restaurants had a wait... To be expected, but we only waited maybe 20 mins. Once seated we were approached immediately and were asked for our drink order. That came out rather quickly. We basically ate pub food this night so nothing too extravagant but what we had was very good. Servi e was excellent. Will come back possibly in the future if we visit this spot in Tampa.

Fantastic scotch/whiskey selection and the flight list was fun. Food took a bit longer than expected, but it was really good. We had short ribs, a fish, and the chicken sandwich. Only dings are the sandwich wasn't very spicy and the fries needed salt.

Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday around noon before the Buccs game. Service was great and the atmosphere is great. The juice with the mimosas was incredible. We shared the duck wings, brussel sprouts, and croque madame. Food was fresh, fast, and really tasty. Will be back!

Great experience been here several times first time with my Mom. Alex was our server she was awesome took the time to explain everything just like you would expect. It's a scratch kitchen so it's easy to change up some of the menu items. Bailey the manager visited our table give us a complimentary appetizer while we were waiting which was greatly appreciated it was the shrimp deviled eggs they were terrific thanks Bailey! Place is modern clean hip fun & you could turn any juice drink into a cocktail 🍹😉... If you like whiskey this is your place as well! This family-friendly what more could you ask for?

Earning a rare 5-star from me, this place was exceptional! The aesthetic when you approach, the branding as you enter, the vibe as you sit... Excellent. Cool and comfortable. The service was great. The drinks, VERY well made. The food, phenomenal. They have a great variety of fresh food and out-of-the-box flavor combinations. Our meals were incredible but that whiskey cake... That was the kicker. I don't really even like cake. This was ridiculously well made, flavorful... simply delicious. Wow. If you're visiting Tampa or you live there, try this place. 🤓👍

5 stars are given out too generously. That being said. Music is at a volume where you can still talk, ambience is dimly lit and relaxed, bar selection is abundant. I got the smoked old fashion which hit all the right notes, the servers (Tyler in my case) pour it right in front of you into a glass that 1 second before was full of smoke. The flavor and aroma lingers in the drink perfectly. For my late lunch I got the chicken and waffles. It came out quickly and piping hot. These chicken tenders are the single best bites of chicken I've ever had. The eggs were exactly how I ordered them. The gravy was savory and delicious. The waffle was a sweet treat to end the entree. Of course for my first visit to whiskey cake, I had to finish with the whiskey cake. A great note to end on, the in house made cake has depth, isn't too sweet, and pairs well with the toffee glaze and the vanilla whipped cream. Nathan the manager took time to check on my meal, remember my name, and tell me more about the chicken tenders that I raved to Tyler about. I would come again breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the chicken and waffles and splendid service.

Wow this was a beautiful place! It's absolutely huge inside and it was completely full. We had a few drinks at the bar and an app. Not your typical bar stools but high chairs with backs....loved it.....though I struggled to get on it hahaha. The cocktails were amazing! I ordered the great escape and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We ordered the duck wings.... the flavor of the sauce was dynamite. And I'm not a hot person but the cherry peppers were a nice compliment to the flavors. The only reason I didn't give a 5 here is the wing meat was tough to eat and not very tender. Other than that it was a great experience and highly recommend.

Third time here and came with friends. I ordered the beef and quinoa salad which was nice portion and delicious. The beet me juice cocktail was delicious, not too sweet which is perfect for me. Their BBQ duck wings are a must as appetizer! It was very busy and noisy, overall a good experience!

We spent our 4 year anniversary here and we're pleasantly surprised with how good everything was and price point. Our server was excellent. Drinks were on point, and my husband really liked the beer flight.. The steak was tender and cooked to the perfect temperature. I love fried green tomatoes and these were delicious. We also ordered the deviled eggs and those were super good too! The best surprise was their whiskey cake. It's not something I'd typically order, but I'd definitely order it again. Kayla was our bartender today!! She has the sweetest and perfect personality for bartending. She provided prompt service and was very hospitable. Not the place to order shrimp and grits. Their portion:price ratio is way off on this dish and the shrimp were super salty. Another friend who also ordered the dish literally referred to the 'trace' amount of grits as a shot! Our group brunches monthly at a variety of spots and we've had better experience with this dish at First Watch and Metro diner for half the price. Other dishes ordered were enjoyed and they did handle a large crowd of people well.

Overall a good place. Our server was very helpful albeit a tad distracted that day. Good recommendations. The duck wings were fantastic and quite large. More like duck legs. The big comfy chairs outside look appealing but you're better off in a booth inside. Some of the outside tables are veeeery small. Drinks, food, and service is what matters here and they do it well.

We love Whiskey cake but our last visit was our best visit. Our server Haley was friendly and attentive but the service we received from Anthony (I believe the manager on duty) was above and beyond. He came and let us know our food was a little behind and then came back sat with us and chatted and really left a great impression. Like he said we are part of the family now!!!

I would say the main driver of the place is the whiskey selection and not the food. Service was friendly and welcoming. I just wouldn't want to eat here as my main choice again. Possibly will do drinks in the future though.

Amazing experience. We were with family for a brunch. For starters the drinks were great, I suggest the Cold Fashioned, fresh and smooth way to start. For the Brunch I had “The Cure”, and I loved it, tasty, mixed of sweet and spicy. And obviously we had the whiskey cake, so good, soft, and sweet. I’d definitely come back to try more options of the menu, and the Flights of whiskey.

First off, let me say that I can’t begin to tell you how exceedingly lucky we Tampanians are to live in the only Florida market with a Whiskey Cake (my condolences to diners in the rest of Florida). I’ve had the pleasure of dining at WC a number of times, and NEVER had a less than stellar dining experience. It is my go-to place for treating visiting family and friends, who’ve all been wowed. What sets this place apart from other restaurants is the high quality ingredients used. Believe me, you can taste the difference. The Rotisserie Farm Bird is probably my favorite entree. I thought I’d had chicken before, but this is chicken on another level. The accompanying veggies are also of top quality. Their bar is absolutely amazing! The selection is simply staggering. Like the food, the drinks are also top-notch. They don’t water anything down here. Their Old Fashioned (smoked & otherwise) is my go-to drink and never disappoints. No meal at this place would be complete without the namesake dessert - whiskey cake. I love it because it isn’t overly sweet. Just right. And the accompanying whip cream is deliciously decadent. If you value high quality that you can taste, then RUN, don’t walk, to WC!

Our waiter knew the menu well, provided great recommendations for our requests, and gave exceptional service throughout. We're visiting in FL, so we didn't know what we were getting. However, we'll gladly return to this location if we're in Tampa again. We ordered: Double bacon burger, grains bowl, and Ribeye with crimini mushrooms. Would recommend all again. Anyone going here NEEDS to try the whiskey cake as this was the most surprising and mouth-watering dessert dish I've had. Highly recommended by the entire party.

Absolutely amazing. I can’t say enough about this place. From the food, to the service. Cheryl was our server, and she was incredible. So attentive, and engaging. She was super attentive to our kids, and made sure they were included and had the best time. They’re bourbon selection is unmatched in the Tampa area. For cocktails we had smoked old fashioned, and the smoke added so much depth and flavor to the bourbon. You can taste the quality, they make they’re own syrups. The Brussels sprouts were incredible. Perfectly fried, sauces were zesty and delicious. I had the chicken and waffles, it was clunky stunt food for sure, but delicious. The piece de la resistance is definitely the whiskey cake. Hands down can’t miss. Can’t wait to return.

It was my first time here. We sat at the bar, ordered a Long Island to start out. The drink was decent nothing fancy. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Goat Cheese Fondue. The fried green tomatoes were a large portion and tasted amazing. The fondue was decent, I expected it to be a little bit more amazing than it was, portion was small. The atmosphere is dark inside and resembles a barrel house.It has a very modern, industrial feel, which I am a big fan of. Their wall of liquor is also impressive. The food was equally if not more impressive. To start off we had drinks, I had the Old Fashion.and it was very strong. Next we had the poached egg Poutine, which is an excellent take on a classic Canadian dish. Next I had the OMG 2.0 burger which has the most delectable, creamy cheese that even impressed me, a cheesehead from Wisconsin. The broccoli with cashews side was an excellent alternative to house chips. My mother had the Pickled Rachel sandwich, which she said was also great.

I've gotten the garlic humus, chicken and waffles, local board, chicken and cheese melt, deviled eggs, double double burger, the switch up which was their version of a rueben sandwich (it changed now, hence the name) My main drink is a rise and shine and smoked old fashioned which is a huge hit there. The Whiskey Cake is out of this world, must try.

Good place to eat, chili is really good when it's good, other times, it's gross 🤢. Decent atmosphere, the whiskey cake is worth trying but isn't balanced, just really sweet. Don't try any of their 'pressed juices', no way they're fresh, and they're just, meh 😕. A diet coke tastes better. Still gets a high score, because when it's good, it's amazing. Needs to work on consistency. I still have to pay full price for a subpar meal and these ain't chic fill a prices 😂

My sisters and I (table of (4)visited 1/15/2023. I booked our Reservations days before, for 11:30am and we didn’t leave until well after 2:30pm. Haley J was our server and I must say she was absolutely amazing! She has such a spark about her and she managed our table and 4 others in such a busy time with ease. A girl named Kayla also assisted her in serving our champagne and several appetizers and Kayla’s conversation with us made our day. Can't believe I'm only reviewing this place now after going 9 times since March 2019. Simply put, this place is great. It has a nice vibe and look. It's kind of like your outside but indoors. All our servers have been friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. There are plenty of drink options other than whiskey. All the cocktails are handmade fresh, with juices and ingredients prepared in house and with no machines. The food selection isn't huge or overwhelming and you really can't go wrong with any of the options. Some great bites are the fondue, the OMG burger, and short ribs. Of course, be sure to save room for the whiskey cake. If you've had them several times already, ask for the seasonal dessert.

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. I got the tri tip dip sandwich and I was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the flavors. The tri tip was smoked and seasoned perfectly, it was juicy and flavorful. The bread was soft and fresh, and the cheese was delicious. Would have rated 4 stars based on the food, but the customer service and drinks bumped it up to 5. The food was very good, but portions are a bit too small for the price, most of which don't come with a side. The duck was cooked perfectly, and went well with the cream sauce they make with it. We went to celebrate an anniversary, and the manager gave a complimentary whiskey cake for the table. The cake was definitely 5 stars. Their cocktails were delicious, and mixed properly so they don't taste too much or not enough like alcohol. Will come back again.

Lucy makes awesome drinks and our server was incredible! Duck appetizer definitely recommend. I had the salmon and it was really good, cooked perfectly and great flavor. Husband had the sirloin said it was pretty good, cooked perfectly as well. Our friends ordered the duck dinner and ribeye. Duck was cooked to right temperature but flavor was a little lacking and ribeye came out under cooked but was corrected quickly. Whiskey cake dessert was good, not too sweet. We will definitely give this place another visit. Price wasn't bad, drinks, appetizers, dinner, dessert less than $100 for 2.

First time in Tampa and my colleague suggested this place! We had a great time. The tomato soup is thick and full of flavours. The goat cheese fondue was an amazing start. The salmon with vegetables is so fresh and delicious. I loved the feta, the cranberry and pomegranate with it. It was just a balanced dish. And we had to taste the whiskey cake. Be ready it will “hit” you. It is a massive portion and very dense, moist and the whipped cream with it... perfect closing of our dinner. Our server, Frankiln took care of us. He was very friendly and attentive. The place itself has a good video. I liked the ambiance.

What a wonderful surprise! We tried so many unique things! The fried Pig Ears were tender and flavorful, but our favorites we're the risotto, and the 3 little pigs (sliders). The whiskey slection was huge and varied! Our waitress Savannah D was so friendly and great! Of course we had to try the namesake whiskey cake...and OMG it was soft and sweet! The spiced pecans added the right amount of crunch. 10/10 would visit again! Manager Sam and his team have done a great job!

How can you resist a new restaurant called Whiskey Cake? Well, I couldn't!! We popped in the other bite and after a short wait we were shown inside. They do have a small section of outdoor seating but it didn't look particularly comfie. I loved the wait time, it turns out they have a small herb garden they use for recipes and drinks and it's set up in a unique and fun way. Along with, a small space to purchase small batch, some local goodies! The restaurant is not overly huge, it's a little to dark and the music was to loud for me. I like to be able to converse at a normal level without straining to hear my companion. Everything is down home country vibe with a fun vibe. We were welcomed by Kendall, our server, who was super sweet and very helpful! The menu is eclectic and fresh and not overly complicated. The flavors mesh well and there are a lot of choices for different palates. The whiskey menu was amazing and you can order a few flites of whiskey or scotch to sample. First off, order the brussel sprouts. Trust me. We ordered them to share and they are completely scrumptious. Sweet and Savory in a perfect blend. Then I had the snapper. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned and delicious. We saved room for dessert, obviously! We were brought a huge square of cake with our own bowl of fresh whipped cream. WOW!! I do like my whipped cream a little more sweet but theirs is pretty good. The cake was perfectly cooked and sweet without being overly sweet. I would go back just for the cake. Have I talked about how amazing our server was? Sit in her section. The prices are super reasonable, this is a fav spot for lunch or dinner on a date or with friends

Every single thing we ordered was amazing and had its own flavor categories. PICTURED: Banana pancakes, were fluffy and perfect on flavor. Had an Ugandan homemade whipped cream and banana chips on top for crunch. French toast monte christo - must eat it with the compote. Game changer Short rib hash- meat was flavorful and really good, only comment I have to make on the sweet potatoes... cool them longer. But I’d order it again, for sure. Drinks- they have all kinds and each bar specializes in something different. Everything I had was amazing and I’d recommend you give whiskey cake a try. Ps. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I was too full after this brunch for the signature Whiskey Cake. But it’s the first thing I’m ordering when I go back.

What a fantastic dining experience AND their first night open to the public. If you like smoked Old Fahioned"s you must try one. The pork brisket with cheese grits were amazing and the calories in the Whiskey Cake were completely worth it, plus had some left over from the two pieces we ordered that was wrapped up with love. Will definitely be back and will be bringing friends when they come in town for the experience and farm to kitchen fresh and fantastic food. I give this place 5 stars because of the ambiance, the service, and the drinks. The food was a solid 4 stars but could’ve been better. We had a super friendly server who explained the menu and drinks to us since it was our first time there. The bar is of the old-fashioned variety and has a TON of liquor... literally floor to tall vaulted ceiling of many glass bottles of brown liquids. They make almost all of their juices and mixes in house we were told except for cranberry juice. We started with one of their whiskey cocktails (Tennessee Stud), and I had a Guava Gimlet but substituted Bombay Sapphire Gin for the vodka that it normally comes with. The Guava Gimlet was amazing! So delicious. It’s a sweet drink but went down very smooth and refreshing without being too fruity... like a classic cucumber gimlet but with guava instead. For appetizer, we had the caramelized onion dip that comes with their homemade kettle chips. The dip was ok.. needed more caramelized onion to cream ratio.. but the chips were delicious. Hot, crunchy, salty and sweet (they’re salted and have a touch of brown sugar and paprika we were told). For dinner, we both got burgers. I had the OMG burger which is an 8 oz patty, melted cheese, mushrooms, onion straws, mustard aioli, etc. I opted for the fries instead of the chips since we had that for an appetizer. The burger was good and juicy.. toppings were good.. bun good. It was a decent burger... it just didn’t blow me away. Fries were seasoned well and they have this nice kicked up ketchup with mustard seeds in it. For dessert, we had their namesake, the whiskey cake. It was a moderately moist brown cake that is sitting in sauces with a crumbled glazed pecan? topping on top. They also serve it with whip cream on the side that you can scoop on top. It was tasty too. I felt like the cake could’ve been a little more moist... was just surprised I had room to eat it after all we had. Anyway, our waitress was super attentive and pleasant. The ambiance was great for a date night. Location is in the Bay Street area next to the mall where all the outdoor restaurants are. Definitely a place to check out!

Great spot with great service. I had the chicken and waffles will definitely return for this. They do a great version of this popular brunch dish. Mesquite flavor in the waffle and gravy and delicious waffle. My husband had the double double and an old fashioned with garrison brothers bourbon and thoroughly enjoyed both. Be ready for a locally sourced homemade meal, one of the best in Tampa. I highly recommend the Deviled Eggs and Fried Green Tomatoes. I split a Turkey Chili with my partner and it was just the right amount of kick followed by a delish crunch of Fritos and Paprika Sourcream. I did the chefs choice sandwich which changes month and it was a total treat! It was full of Italian sliced beef, pickled veg, horseradish and au jus for dipping. We were too full for dessert but cannot wait to go back. Brunch was totally worth the visit.

I came here just for the dessert; the famous Whiskey Cake. It did not disappoint! It was just the right amount of sweetness for me. I loved it. I usually make Whiskey Cake at a home this one was totally different from mine and I'd love to have the recipe. I also wanted a pour of my favorite whiskey however, they were out. But I asked the bartender (I didn't get his name) for his recommendation and it was awesome! Totally hit the spot! He really knew his stuff and I appreciate that. Me and some friends went for an outing to celebrate our friends birthday and it was a nice. atmosphere. The appetizers we had were pretty good and the customer service was amazing, our waiter Nate was very attentive with an amazing personality and very friendly. We enjoyed ourselves.

Really loved the whole vibe. Had a drink at the bar while we waited for our party. Great cocktails but they don't give you a napkin or coaster to put under your drink - that was a bit odd. And the drinks are delicious, but there is way more ice than drink unfortunately. Dinner was great, our waiter was very attentive. The food came out pretty fast and was delicious. The star of the night was the signature dessert, the Whiskey Cake. It was fantastic and four of us shared one piece. Overall, the food and drinks were great but pretty pricey considering how small the portions were.

This is such a great place to have a nice meal with your significant other or with friends. My wife and I visited this past weekend with some friends and sat in the lounge, and oh what a delightful experience. The drinks, appetizers and their signature burgers were simply amazing, you have to come by and try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Our server, Lauren was extremely polite and attentive to our needs, despite how busy it was on a Saturday evening.

Our second time here and enjoyed it very much. We were early for our reservation (by over 1/2 hour) and they were able to seat us immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful. Our food arrived very quickly ~ which worked for us as this was a quick stop for us. Food was tasteful with great flavor. My only negative is the booth we were in was not lighted very well. We had to use phone's flashlight to read the menu ~ always a turnoff for me. Now in the defense of the restaurant, they do have QR code for menu as well. Overall, it was enjoyable and glad we made the "out of the way" stop before heading to the beach.

Then, there’s the SIGNATURE DISH: WHISKEY CAKE. Warm, fresh baked not overly sweet chocolate cake, (like a cake brownie), topped with whiskey sauce glaze, and, served with fresh made whipped cream. No. REALLLY!!! Are you drooling yet?! Because, we were!!! Cannot wait to return.

A new favorite! My family and I ate here at 7 p.m. on a Saturday night with a five-year-old in tow. In hindsight, we would not have gone there that late with a young child, but daylight savings tricked us. The staff were all very accommodating of our daughter, and our server was just so charming and efficient (I wish I could remember his name for a shout out!). My husband and I had the roasted vegetables and goat cheese fondue as appetizers. For entrees, we ate the short ribs and pork brisket. My pork brisket was phenomenal! Even my daughter's macaroni and cheese was phenomenal! The cocktails were excellent as well, and I had a Black Manhattan along with the titular Whiskey Cake for dessert. My prediction: I will be back here in less than a month, with grown-up friends in tow to enjoy the low light, loud music, and abundant whiskey selection.

The food was okay, they seem to really need to hire a few people, but the people who worked there were nice. They were out of the ingredients for their Hulk drink. We ended up with the Jessica Wabbit (pictured) it was delicious. We had green tomatoes for the appetizer and it was good as well. Mom ordered red snapper and brussels nothing memorable about the snapper but the brussels were great! Daughter had farm bird and again nothing great. I had all sides Mac & Cheese was very bland, spicy potatoes and broccoli casserole was horrible and they never brought my brussel sprouts. We also shared a whiskey cake for dessert. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day but Moral of the story we will not be back to find out.

This place has a huge selection of Whiskey to sample from. Just be ready to pay for it. $10 for a single shot of Gentlemen Jack. A bottle goes for about $30 on average. But again, it's nice to sample different types of Whiskeys before buying the bottle. Go in here to explore and experiment. The food is good too. The Pot Roast and potatoes was excellent

We started with the whiskey cake first since this was our second time here, and there's no point in putting it off risking being to full to order it after! It was too good. Drinks are on point, love the smoked old fashioned! Ordered duck wings which were amazing and will probably get 2 of the next time as they were so crispy and sauce was so good! Otherwise, we ordered the pork sliders, which kind of tasted like fancy sloppy Joe's at first, but the more bites u take, the flavors came together even more and it tasted amazing! Staff is extremely friendly here and I'll be back for sure to try some other things on the menu.

It’s a chain. You get chain food and its what you would expect. Been here twice and both times it has been meh. The salmon was overcooked but the Brussels sprouts are good. Although there is another restaurant in town that does almost identical Brussels sprouts and they said this was a new menu item. I think they are trying to recreate them. Also, the last time I was there for brunch and got eggs Benedict they brought out hard boiled eggs for it… sent it back and got hard boiled eggs again.

We came out to eat here before going to a football game. We had a mixed drink and then our entrees. The service was fantastic, the server realized we were heading to the game so kept the pace quick for us. My whole experience was okay. I took my manager out for brunch to celebration, we are both expecting new moms. It was her first time coming to the restaurant. We both ordered the chicken and waffles which is always a pleasure. The first time they bring out the order it was wrong. Totally understandable it happens mix up tables but when we asked a server for just a fruity non-alcoholic beverage she said that you guys “do not have anything other then water” so non-fruity alcoholic beverages, honestly my friend and I we both looked at each other and was surprised that we could not order something that was nonalcoholic so maybe you guys can put something like that on the menu other than water. But the atmosphere was a great the food was phenomenal but my server seem to be very disconnected robot like. I am not gonna name her name on this review but I really hope that she does better we were there for Sunday brunch and if she reads this she knows exactly who she is. But that’s not gonna stop me from coming back I love the food!!!

First time in this restaurant, it looks great from the outside and incredibly nice in the inside. We all order different platters so we enjoy the diversity of their manu. We all enjoyed this great culinary experience. My Salmon was moist and incredibly delicious 😋, the Mediterranean salad finished the final touch, so delicious. The stakes platters were cooked medium rare and they were juicy and tasty. The experience was fantastic, delicious and very satisfying. Defenectly, we are coming back for more again. Hit or miss. Overall I like this place. When they're not busy, the bartenders are friendly and make fun off-menu drinks. When things get busy, even the on-menu cocktails lose quality. Things taste watered down or uninteresting. As for the food, overall it's good. The pork brisket was excellent but small. Side of brussel sprouts was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The mac and cheese wasn't bad, but the sweet potatoes and cauliflower were so bland. I've had a great burger, and another that wasn't. I would say give it a try when it's not busy before making a call.

Our brunch/lunch on Father's day didn't start out very well. 3 times my husband tried ordering a beer flight only to be told each time they were out of something. Next they were out of a whiskey he ordered. We were there at 1 in the afternoon. I'm not sure how a bar, especially a whiskey bar can be so depleted. A manager did comp his drink however to try and make it for this. But it did take 45 minutes approximately before my husband was served a drink. The second round of drinks took over 20 minutes to get.. Food was inconsistent. Pickled Rachel would have been good if the bread wasn't hard as a brick. My friend's hamburger was barely larger than a slider and my husband's "brisket " was just pork tenderloin. The chicken and waffle our other friend had was delicious. The best part was the Whiskey cake which was amazing!!

When I say this is by far the best experience I’ve had this year at a restaurant I mean it. Ambiance, food, service, everything top tier. If you do go here make sure to ask for Matti ( Matison). When I say it was a breath of fresh air to have a server who actually buoys doing their job, actually care of the customers and their needs. She had us laughing until our cheek bones turn red and purple. I honestly don’t think I can have anyone else wait on my table if it is not matti. She deserves every shift and raise possible. Such an amazing visit! Bartender was fantastic (think he was from NY?) His girlfriend also works there. Had the BEST jalapeno margarita ever. The board we ordered was amazing. Such an awesome dinner!! Started with drinks, then aps. Not disappointed at all - goat cheese fondue (roasted garlic included) hummus, duck wings... yummy! Then on to dinner. The fried chicken was the best we've ever tasted! The roast beef au jus was tender and tasty, and the horseradish sauce on it was perfect! We were celebrating a birthday, so food was coming and going quickly. Our server, Dana, (from Philly, we forgive her for that ☺️) was AMAZING!!! She was attentive without crowding us, when she saw a need she responded, and she was knowledgeable about the food and drinks. All of us had a wonderful meal together - we feel it was so much more memorable because of Dana!! The only part of the meal that was ordinary was the water (I know, small thing to complain about, but I could taste the chlorine in it). BUT - The Whiskey Cake - heaven on earth!!! My granddaughter loved the fresh whip cream - she thought it was ice cream. If you want a great fresh meal and an awesome server, go to Whiskey Cake and ask for Dana to help you!

This place should be called Whiskey Appetizers. They master them. I have NEVER in my years of drinking Smoked Old Fashions had one as BAD as what they serve at WC. She brought the drink on a tray with the drink in one glass and the smoke in another. I wondered how in the hell is she gonna get to drink into the smoke. Well she turned the glass covering the smoke up. Poured the drink into that glass while the smoke floated into the crowd. It was not a “SMOKED” drink. Hell it was a terrible old Fashion even. I told the server and she said “I’m sorry.” If I go again No smoked drinks.

I had never been here before. A few friends from out of town who were visiting recommended we go. Glad we did! Turns out Whiskey Cake is a chain, but honestly, you would never guess. Everything was great. I was with a party of six, and we all ordered different drinks (Tennessee Stud, Smoked Old Fashioned, That's My Jam, Paper Plane, Banana Hammock and New York Sour) so we of course sampled each other's choice. All were awesome. Smoked Old fashioned (at least the 'smoked' part) is prepared in front of you. Awesome. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as a starter and the Chicken & Cheese Melt as the main. Delicious. And I ended up with 3 of the fried tomatoes to take home because I had no idea how big they would be (they're huge). As the name of the restaurant implies, they are famous for their Whiskey Cake. Just order it. You won't regret it. No matter how full you are!

The food was excellent, you can tell it’s fresh and you can definitely taste it. I am hard to please and I cleared my plate. If it was possible to give this place 6 stars, I would! My husband started with the “That’s My Jam” cocktail, which was even better than we could have imagined (I’m pregnant, but tried a sip to see what I was missing out on, and I was definitely jealous!) Everything we ate was out of this world good! We started with “The Board” which was a perfectly crafted selection of flavors and textures. The house made jam was delicious and the honeycomb was a perfect complement to the array of cheeses and meats. Their pickled tomatoes that came with it were unique, and definitely worth a try. We also had the pork brisket steak and chicken and cheese melt. Someone took a lot of care and planning when creating their dishes. Lots of unique flavor pairings, and they were perfect! Even their house-made potato chips were full of flavor and perfectly crispy. My only regret is that we didn’t have room for more. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to trying their goat cheese fondue, salmon and namesake whiskey cake! In addition to the food, it was a homey-chic feel and all of the staff we encountered were excellent. If you are debating whether or not to go here, do yourself a favor and give it a try. You definitely won’t regret it!

Very noisy, service was o.k. I asked for a medium well rib eye. The end part that I ate at restaurant was cooked great. I brought the 3/4 left of rib eye home to my son and unfortunately it was so undercooked that I had to fry it more and place it in my oven for a bit. But the Charcuterie board was great. The veg medley and whiskey cake was phenomenal. I totally recommend it.

I haven't been to this branch of Whiskey Cake. Before we moved to Tampa Bay from Oklahoma, we were obsessed with the second location in OKC (first was in Plano TX, but now it is kinda taking over Texas). So happy to have an "outpost" here in Tampa. Don't call it a chain. Chain implies some sort of microwaveable, corporate ownership with no soul. Whiskey Cake could not be farther from that. They serve everything from snacks to sandwiches to grilled meats and burgers using local ingredients. And don't forget abut the whiskey. Or the whiskey cake. This is my favorite restaurant in International Plaza, by far. I don't have a picture because we ate it too fast. But you should go yourself.

This place is awesome! Most of what they make here either food or drinks has their own original ingredients. The menu has really creative dishes and the quality was top notch. We got the duck wings which were like a spicy Asian barbecue style, and the burger which was one of the best I've had anywhere. The liquor selection is huge. If you look at my pics, you can see that there's a rolling ladder in the background that the bartender climbs to get to all the bottles on 4 levels. Massive selection of top quality liquors. The atmosphere is also great for a date. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. The Whiskey Cake dessert is also delicious! We took it home and heated it up and it was perfect with their homemade whip cream. We will be going back for sure.

This was one of the most down to earth restaurants I have ever been to. Customer service was amazing, our server, Irene, brought everything out in a very timely manner. She was also very engaged with us which made us feel very welcomed. She had great recommendations. The music selections was perfect, and the vibe was very social and out going. 10/10 recommend!

This is a great gem we found by accident before the pandemic. The food is awesome and if you go for brunch on Saturday and Sunday you'll find unique and delicious choices. Also the different alcoholic drinks offered are the best.. hate Bloody Mary's but went for brunch on Saturday and the bartender gave me a sample-loved it. Staff is always friendly and they do not rush you. Great place to try if you want fresh and unique food and drink offerings

We had an amazing experience at Whiskey Cake in Tampa FL! Our servers name was Irene and she was awesome, she checked on us regularly and took great care in ensuring we had the best time while there. The food was all delicious, and Irene made great suggestions since I have an onion aversion/dislike. We live locally and will definitely make this a repeat. Make sure if you go to ask for Irene, she is awesome and made our experience excellent!

Nico has a great personality and he most certainly made a difference with our experience. ** UPDATE 12/30/2021 I have changed my review to 5 stars. I have been back several times over the past few months and everything was amazing! The food always is perfect and the time from ordering food to receiving the food is now great. This is one of my go to places when in Tampa. ___________________________ The environment is beautiful and the food (when and if you receive it) tastes great. On 2 different occasions this week we went on our lunch break. The first time the food took almost an hour to get. Once we did, it was amazing. The 3 Little Pig slides tastes great. We went back today for lunch with other people. After almost 1-1/2 hours, only 1/2 of the table received their food. 2 of us left without eating. We will go back but we will wait until they figure out cooking and kitchen times. The servers both times have been friendly and helpful. Once the kitchen gets their rhythm on point, this will be a great place.

This restaurant was incredible. It checked all the boxes for me as far as a good restaurant experience goes. The decor and ambience is fantastic. If you’re a whiskey aficionado, I’m sure you will enjoy this heaven. However I didn’t even have a drink here and still had a fantastic experience. Our server was attentive and the food was delicious. We ordered the Duck Wings, Pork Sliders, and the Beyond Meat burger. Two firsts for me: Never had Duck and never tried Beyond Meat yet. The duck wings were delicious. The Beyond Meat burger was also very tasty and it was a unique experience considering it is indeed hard to tell that it’s not real meat. When the seasonal dessert arrived (pumpkin cheesecake), I was so full but once I took a bite we just kept eating it it was so good. Would love to return here soon

I'd rate the atmosphere and staff a 5 and the food items I ordered a 3. I had the salmon dip and burger. I didn't like the first bite of salmon but started to like the dip as I tasted the cream cheese. A couple of the chips that came with it were stuck together and rock hard. I ordered the burger medium well and it came slightly burnt around the edges. Would have to get it medium next time. Otherwise a decent burger.

The location is absolutely stunning! The bar set ups are very hip and the staff is super professional. Our server, Irene, was an angel! She knew everything about the menu and was extremely friendly. Our drinks and food came out wonderfully! I got the Sazerac cocktail, as well as The Three Little Pigs appetizer. We ended the night with a whiskey cake, which was also phenomenal, as per Irene’s suggestion. We will definitely be coming back to see her and enjoy the many perks of this impressive establishment. 10/10!!

Justin at the bar was great. Very attentive. We had the farmer's breakfast with a side of spicy sausage and the sausage gravy everything was amazing. Fried green tomatoes were also great. My only wish is that I had more grits because they were so tasty. Have to go in next time with a wish list of whiskeys to try so that I can create my own custom flight.

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times and it is absolutely amazing from the service to the drinks and to the food. I have had dinner, brunch and appetizers here and never been disappointed. At my last visit I requested my burger to be well done and it came out basically rare. While the kitchen was re-cooking the burger, our server brought out a new drink since it was taking too long. That was very thoughtful and much appreciated, even though I wasn't upset or bothered by it taking longer than need be. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to try something unique.

We hadn’t been out in 6 months because of the pandemic. We ventured out to celebrate our anniversary. I am so glad we chose to come here. Socially distanced tables. Fantastic staff. The manager, Logan, made our dinner special and fun! My bourbon loving man was so happy to find some unique items for his flight. Exquisite is the only way to explain this restaurant. Melisa Nom DeGuerre and I came for lunch unplanned because the first restaurant we chose had to long of a wait. The food and service was so good we changed our plans and came back for dinner! My husband and I tried Whiskey Cake for the first time tonight. I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. The service was great and the atmosphere laid back but classy. My husband had the pork brisket, and I had the rotisserie farm bird. The flavor of both dishes was fantastic, and though we’d read in other reviews that the portions seemed small for the money, we have to disagree, because the quality and flavor definitely earn their keep. My husband had a Manhattan as well, and enjoyed the smoothness and flavor of the whiskey. Also, we had to try the “famous Whiskey Cake”, delicious light sweetness, topped off with their house made whipped cream. We felt bad leaving some of the whipped cream behind but we were pleasantly full 😊 Definitely give it a try!

Amazing food and even better service!! I had the pleasure of dining in for my first time this past Friday and was beyond impressed at the service Sarah D. provided. She was given our table due to an emergency our first server encountered and this was by far the best thing that could have happened! Sarah made the experience from enjoyable to absolutely outstanding! We ordered everything on the menu with Sarah's recommendation and there was not one item i was disappointed with! The fried green tomatoes are the best app and whiskey cake is a must for dessert!! I will be back for sure and will only ask for Sarah! If you've never been here, you'll have the best experience!

Love this place. Portion size is just right, not overpriced and a great bourbon selection. Edit: be careful with the chicken in the salad and sandwiches. It is hand pulled. Had a bone in my salad last month and a pretty dangerous bone in my sandwich at my visit tonight. Waiter brushed it off like it was no big so must happen a lot.... Otherwise still living the bourbon selection and the whiskey cake. Just beware of chicken bones!

The food was great, but our bartender failed to inform us that it was happy hour. We told her it was our very first time dining at the restaurant and that we were very excited about trying the drinks/food. Not once did she mention that it was Happy Hour or give us a Happy Hour menu. Another couple sat next to us at the bar and the bartender immediately told the couple that it was Happy Hour, but to hurry with their order because it was ending soon. The bartender passed them a menu so that they could beat the deadline. My husband and I ended up spending 3x more on each one of our drinks. When we asked the bartender for a Happy Hour menu she pretty much had an attitude about it and slid the menu across the table without saying anything. This was very disappointing.

This was my 1st visit and it was great!! The decor and ambience are so cozy feeling, even though it's a pretty good size restaurant! I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken and Kale Salad and it was delicious! I don't normally like kale that much, but it was perfect in this salad! I also liked my iced tea..fresh and tasty!! My one friend got their Chicken abs and Waffles and omg it looked amazing and according to him it was!! My other friend needed some comfort food and ordered the Sliders with French fries and really liked them!! I wish I had taken pictures...we were too busy chatting!!

I went to this restaurant yesterday and I still can't stop thinking about it. Our server was incredibly genuine and passionate not only about her job but about the restaurant and all the lunch items. From the moment my wife and I were greeted until we left; EVERYTHING was Absolutely Great. Karly; the young lady who brought us our food and drinks was very knowledgeable of the menu and food prep process. After a truly disappointing dinner at a well established Tampa waterfront restaurant last evening; Whiskey Cake was a well received blessing. Our new favorite restaurant. Oh. My. God. This place, I love bourbon, and they have an amazing selection of top shelf bourbons selected by aficionados. The cocktails were 🔥🔥 Now the fun doesn't end there because the food is to die for. I just ordered a sandwich and was swooning over it, got the risotto as a side, changed my life. Then finished the meal with the namesake Whisky Cake and was ready to profess my love then and there. The service we had was incredible, our server guided us through the drink and food selections and made amazing recommendations. The interior is so cool, very rustic chic, definitely has some Texas flair. I love this restaurant and can't wait to go back. Definitely one of my new favorites!

Went to celebrate my Son's birthday. We ordered a few appetizers and there was a hold up in the kitchen and they didn't come out at the same time. Which we were fine with, it gave us time to talk. This place has been open for all of 3 weeks before I tried it on a night out with coworkers, and what a great addition to Tampa! They are still working out the timing, so as long as you don't come in a rush you are in for a great experience. Our server was friendly, and have us good guidance on the menu. Enjoy beer or whiskey flights from the extensive collection while munching on creative appetizers (try the fried pig ears or pulled pork sliders). You can't go wrong for dinner. Our group tried and loved the salmon, duck breast, steak, roasted chicken and short ribs. Above all, save room for the namesake dessert. The whiskey cake is like a sticky toffee cake on a bender, and is perfect for sharing. We will definitely be back! The social hour specials look great.

The start of my visit was poor. My glass had lipstick on it from another guest and there was dried food on my silverware. They strongly need to take better care sanitizing, especially during times like now. I ordered the 3 little piggy’s and it came with chips. The chips were extremely oily. The pork was dry and the onions were greasy. Overall, I won’t return.

The environment is very nice, but I usually go out to eat at places for their food like most I believe. If I based this place on it's cheese board alone I would give only 1 star. A child could do better. The old fashioned was ok at best. The Chicken and waffles is the only thing that might bring me back.

I live an hour west of Tampa and found Whiskey Cake while at the International Mall. I was so impressed by the food, we came back a month later for Mother’s Day. The environment is so welcoming and relaxed. The food is seriously amazing and the service is great. I definitely recommend!!

First of all they were super busy during brunch, so don't let all the open reservations showing on Open Table fool you. LoL. If you're going for brunch be prepared for a wait for drinks etc. There was a little miscommunication between the kitchen and our waitress regarding our food, but the manager did make it right in the end. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Monkey Bread, Monte Cristo, fried green tomatoes, and the BLT. And the 3 little pigs slider is REALLY good as well! We will definitely eat here again, but we'll probably do take out to avoid the crowd and wait times.

Really cool place to try out. Definitely a lot of whiskey and bourbon to try. Their flight on the menu looks pretty cool to order. Had an old fashion at the outside bar and a order of the fried pig's ears. Pretty interesting and new type of appetizers. Would recommend to at least try. For dinner I had the short rib with spaghetti squash. It was ok, I've had better short ribs else where but it wasn't bad. The squash itself as a side was mediocre, I should've gotten the chicken and waffle. My wife had the salmon which was really good. The side that came with it was very tasty. Overall it was a good experience, fun crowd atmosphere.

There are way too many options in town for over priced options such as this. While the atmosphere is nice and they do pour a decent drink, the food is avg at best for the price. And the portions are way to small for the price of the meal. The mac n cheese and fried tomatoes were amazing though. And if you do go, absolutely get the whiskey cake. 100% delicious

The food was great and the service was poor. Never visited us from time food came till we finished. Forgot soup and never asked if i wanted another drink till our food was gone. The owner was so sweet and noticed our service was not up to his par from a distance. He appolized and made it right. Next time I know we will have better service because owners that take that much pride put out great quality. Definitely a great hip spot for a night out.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in awhile.... to start off with our waitress karly gave us AMAZING service, she nailed it! Secondly, the food.... oh.. my... GOD!!!! The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because we ordered the corn dogs and instead of the 5 that come in an order we received 3. They ran out, but they said they would take care of us. Then the cup of Turkey Chile was actually cold. The waitress took it back and came out with another cup, and it was still cold. We have been to this place many times. This time was embarrassing because we took people from our of town there. I want you to know I will go back because their food is really good, and the staff is very friendly.

Where. Have. I. Been?!!! Husband and I came here on a whim with a friend and can’t believe how amazing the food was. The 3 of us ordered different things and different side dishes. Everything was absolutely amazing! The only recommendation we have for the establishment is to create a waffle that crisps up for the chicken and waffles. It was squishy and kind of crumbly like a pancake and not at all like a waffle should look and taste like. It was definitely not the condensation from the eggs on top that changed the crispness of the waffle. We all got whiskey cake to go, and if it’s even possible, the cake got more delicious while it sat overnight and straight out of the fridge than when we tried it (and were blown away with the flavors) the night before while it was still warm. Looking forward to another visit!

My husband and I came in on Saturday afternoon with our new puppy, and he garnered quite a bit of attention, but the real star of the show was your management team and our servers. 10 star customer service from start to a personal shout out and wave goodbye. We were seated for about 10 minutes before we had to ask someone to find our waiter. If it weren't for Matthew, the host, acknowledging that so many servers had walked past us and that he'd make sure we were taken care of, we would have left and went next door to a restaurant that we frequent. David redeemed himself by being knowledgeable about the menu and offering us tasty choices. Although our food was cold, it was plated nicely and seasoned well. The chicken was dry but the Brussel sprouts were good! The Whiskey Cake was hard and cold in the center, but the homemade whipped cream was delightful. This establishment is new and the staff seems to be more focused on tasks than serving guests. If I return, and that's a small "if", it'll be in a few months when people know what they're doing.

I thought the food here was good, not great. The drinks and whiskey cake were delicious though, and our server was very nice and attentive. I didn't like that we made a reservation but still had to wait 30 mins for our table, and also waited a while for the whiskey cake to come out as well. I hope that this was just due to it being newly opened and they get the details ironed out. Seems like a great addition to the options at international mall and would like to see them do well.

We had a delicious meal at Whiskey Cake in January of this year. The waitress was very nice and helpful. I told her what I wanted and she asked the chef to prepare the meal with no gluten, dairy and soy, as requested. It is rare to have this service and the meal was great!

This food was amazing. We ate a lot and I loved every single thing. Not an alcohol fan but the atmosphere is really cool. A great place to chill. The fried pig ears are like pork calamari...and that's some of the best local cheese i have ever tasted in the goat cheese fondue. If this place does not thrive at it's location, every single idiot who didn't go should be utterly ashamed

Our first trip to Whiskey Cake was a success! Even though we had an hour wait, it went by in a blink because we grabbed a pint over at The Pub across the way! Our server Jada was AWESOME from start to finish- she gave us great drink recommendations (try the Doppio Dupe, it's awesome!!!) and went out of her way to make sure our night out was phenomenal. We got the Local Board which featured delicious house-made honey habanero beef jerky, tassel ham, kielbasa-style sausage, stone mustard, manchego, local honey, jam, house pimento cheese, and delicious sourdough bread. The Whiskey Braised Short Rib was amazing, with pull-apart beef and delicious pappardelle noodles. We can't recommend a trip to Whiskey Cake enough, make sure you ask for Jada!

My husband and I had lunch at Whiskey Cake in Tampa today, everything was delicious and Erin, our server, was fantastic! The restaurant itself is gorgeous. We were so surprised and pleased to see that she dated and labeled our leftovers, what a nice touch! We will return, best first experience in a brand new restaurant ever!

Everything here is incredible. The bacon and egg salad is crazy good, all the sandwiches I've had were great, and of course the whiskey cake should not be missed. It's a dense pound cake soaked in a whiskey caramel glaze, toasted pecan, and fresh whipped cream. It goes so well with their fresh French press coffee. Oh yeah, their cocktails are super well balanced and really show the know their whiskey. Top notch all the way.

Stopped in to have a quick bite ended up staying for a couple of hours. Greatstaff well-versed on their products and there bourbon and whiskey. Great atmosphere and awesome food! Mark the bartender was great even helped us do a blind taste test on a couple different Bourbons, great time can't wait to go back!

I absolutely love the delicious food, energetic atmosphere, and the friendly employees! Mark greeted us from the front of the restaurant and talked about how they grow some of their ingredients in front of the restaurant. Our waitress was Cheryl and she was very nice! I highly recommend the beer cheese soup and the carmalized onion dip. They purchase from local businesses and everything is made fresh.

Wonderful, Amazing, Fantastic are all some of the words that come to mind. Niko just enhanced the over all experience with his personality and expertise! The food was top notch! But the overall experience that Niko provided was the icing on the Whisky cake! Make sure to ask for Niko!

Loved their drinks and the food. Overall it was a great place to have a "congratulations on graduating college " happy hour. The only downside was one of the hostess/waitresses. I don't know who she was, but she was cleaning up some tables next to us. We were there for about an hour and a manager or someone who looked like a manager came over and let us know that the table we are sitting at, needed to be cleaned up for a group of 30 and more. It was fine, we were about to head to another location anyways. We gave our waitress our cards and waited till she was done. During that time the other waitress/hostess was clearing the table next to us and made a comment to her co-worker, "Are they going to leave yet?" without realizing that I was well within earshot. I was going to speak to a manager about it, but my BF told me not to get so worked up. However, I am also in the food business and know for a fact that if I want to complain about customers, I must do it in my head or in the kitchen away from other customers, not nearby them. And that is why I give 4 stars and not 5. Next time I want to try their famous cake. ((:

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner last night at Whiskey Cake. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The food was fantastic and fresh. With me being a picky eater but I was very happy with the Rotisserie Chicken on top of Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Though we were full, we had to try the whiskey cake😋. So yummy!! Something different than your usual key lime pie, lava cake, Tiramisu, etc. Highly recommended

These five stars is for the whole experience. which means the gap is balanced between the food (taste/quality) and/by attention (host/waited), besides the ambiance. Unfortunately i have no pictures this time to share with you, but this is a place i'll be glad to come back and visit. I have not yet tried everything but i can tell you the short ribs were GOOD, and what ever your entree is, when its desert time. You have to try the Whiskey Cake. Yes do not leave without trying it, i mean if you are not diabetic or don't like chocolate. I recommend for get together with grown friends. Awesome selections of Whiskey.

Met up w girlfriends last night. Got several appetizers. All were great. If you like goat cheese the fondue is really good. The OMG burger was one of best burgers I ever had. The salads looked great; will have to try next time. Burgers were all under cooked so not sure what happened in kitchen but they made me another one. The dessert w whip cream is amazing. Definitely plan to share as it is big. Would love to come back w my family. Server was great too. Dont remember his name.

The hostess very friendly and immediately had waiter to seat the 4 of us. Molly was awesome Her energy all night was impressive and she checked on us as well as her other customers. Amazing homemade kettle chips and Beyond Meat burger was delicious. The Hollman family will definitely be back.

We the family came down visiting this town from VA. We met a friend that recommend by other restaurant and wasn’t available. I told why not try this place. Pleasantly surprised at how good our brunch experience was today. The menu is reasonably priced and you can tell high quality ingredients are used. The service was above average and the atmosphere was a cool modern/southern feel. This concept would be a hit in downtown St. Pete. Will be back to try more!

Lovely ambiance. Food was really overpriced though. The side salad was what I got, and it was on pint, while the french fries and the shrimp salad were too overrated. We spent a a lot of time waiting for assistance, which wasn’t too nice.
