Venue: incredible location, with great views. Loads of seating with multiple bars but it was so busy on the weekend we couldn't get a table at the restaurant, so we just had appetizers all night. Service: despite how busy they were, they were always very prompt and attentive. Never felt like we were waiting too long for service. Food: we just had the apps, but everything was good. Nice portion sizes, and the calamari was so delicious - probably the best I've had in Florida so far. Disappointed that I didn't get to try the mains but that's because of our lack of planning and this being a busy spot! Drinks: good selection and made pretty well, did the job.

What a beautiful venue! The ambience is amazing! We had a delightful and delicious lunch and loved every minute of it. The food was excellent but the food did take quite awhile.. However, we chalk that up to this being a very hot spot (very popular). I highly recommend going here and the little beach was great for the kids to stay occupied. Definitely checknit out and we look forward to another visit to the aptly named Getaway! Enjoy!!!!

Beautiful location overlooking the water. Food was fantastic and service was efficient. Multiple seating options including huge covered area with lots of tables and bar seating. We sat on the sand facing the water. Crab stack was by far my favorite selection. Conch fritters were good, as well as the shrimp po boy. My eyes are set on the lobster tacos which I will be returning for in no time. Cocktails were made well and we honestly had no complaints!

One of the best outdoor tiki bar/ restaurants in the Tampa Bay area on the water! The tropical drinks are refreshing and the seafood quality is amazing! It's fantastic to watch a sunset or to see local wildlife in the water. The wooden walkway along the water is full of chairs to enjoy the scenery with a cocktail. Definitely the perfect spot to feel like you're visiting a hidden paradise!

Haven't been in a while. Love the trees have grown so much Looks so beautiful Great weather nice views Love that theres grey goose skinny vodka cocktails!!! We love just to pop in to enjoy the sand sun and water with some yummy cocktails. Love that you feel like you're in key west!

Stopped by for a late lunch and to check out the hidden view. Multiple outside bars and shaded or not seating areas overlooking the Bay. Had local beers and the fish spread with the exact amount of Captain Wafer packs needed! Great staff at the back bar, restrooms accessible, very enjoyable spot to hang out.

This place is so beautiful and awesome I love it. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. They have several areas you can sit and eat and drink that are very cool. If you’re visiting the area I highly recommend you visit here.

What a cool find, we will definitely be back often. Food and drinks really good view of the mangroves seeing dolphins swim by was an added bonus. Daniele G was our server, she was on point. She did a great job, very thorough was solid on the service. She checked on us regularly and gave us a little insight on the restaurant in the surrounding area.

Excellent hidden gem. Not touristy. Guacamole was excellent, queso was a little salty though. Ahi nachos were to die for and the burger looked delicious. And the drinks were strong and DIRTY!!!!

Drove our boat up and easily found a spot to dock. The atmopshere is lively but family friendly and super welcoming. I never would have expected this awesome place from the road. We had seared tuna tacos and shrimp tacos....food was good....maybe a little pricey but the atmosphere was worth it. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

What a fun place. A little beach, with kayak and SUP rentals, mangroves across the way for fishing, docks to pull your boat up to. Plenty of seating, and strong drinks. Lobster tacos are amazing!

Wonderful “beachy” place by the water. I had the lobster taco and it was amazing. We had Cheyenne as our waitress and we were absolutely blown away by her level of service! Will definitely come back next time we’re around.

Great place by the bay. Great staff, food & drinks. Fun atmosphere and love picnic outdoor seating. Would've given 5 stars if DJ wasn't blaring music after many tables repeatedly moved away from the loud areas. Even asked wait staff if volume could be turned down, it was frowned upon.

Overall this was a nice place. Service was alright, and the food was delicious but rather pricy. View was great. I would visit again but not as often because of the cost. Having some complimentary chips and salsa would be a welcome addition. The queso was good but we ran out of queso with half the chips remaining. About 9 bucks. The shrimp and crab quesadilla was very good and was about 20 bucks for that.

A relaxing atmosphere with great food! Everyone was friendly and the view is just amazing, with the mangroves, blue herons and other wildlife. Definitely a must, if you haven't been!

So damned good that I forgot to take a Pic of my Mahi tacos which where DELICOUS! Loved the spicy potato salad. Definitely order their jalapeño poppers and fries. Delicious, fresh, and the view is awesome!

Food was good and in a nice setting. However, I feel the meal was overpriced. 2 of us dined in and we both got 2 Bloody Marys each. She got the tacos and I got the BBQ Quesadilla. Both tasted good but for our bill to hit $89 just seemed a bit much. I run a BBQ critic page on fb and I will say again that my quesadilla was tasty.

Update after being here a few times; never been impressed with the staff, but today lots of credits to Bree. Great girl, great service. Love the location and the view, the seating on the sand, on the water. Love that they use ‘responsible’ straws (biodegradable), but would love the place more if they had more vegetarian options on the menu and they stopped using plastic glasses. Server was not unfriendly, but not did it look like she liked to be there very much. All and all a nice place though..

Wow, just the view here was totally worth the visit. Seating throughout whole place is very nicely done, lots of parking, there were a lot of great options for food here, as well as cocktails galore. If you can, try to get there for the sunset!

Beautiful bar by the water, but service isn't great. The drinks are made pretty quickly, but our single order of Oyster basket came to our table halfway through our second round of drinks. Perhaps this isn't a place to eat at, just to drink? Our server also disappeared after giving our bill, so after 25mins of waiting, we just walked up to the bar to pay. We found him in the parking lot chilling with his friends.

The staff were incredibly helpful especially our waitress. She was very professional, attentive and friendly. The Softshell crab Sandwich was delicious, but it doesn't justify how expensive it was. The potato salad that came with it had a kick in it and was spicy. The atmosphere is great. Just be mindful of the seat/table you pick because some spots are not shaded - and that sun is unforgiving. There are plenty of seats by the water and it's probably best to come here when the sun is about to go down. I highly recommend this place!

We had dinner at the Getaway last night with a large group of co-workers and it was a great experience. The food, service, and laid back vibe were perfect. This is not the same place it was 5 years ago! I had the shrimp and crab quesadillas and they were amazing. The dolphins playing in the water 10 feet from where we were sitting was the icing on the cake! We will be back soon!

Should be called the “Ghetto Way”. One fan is missing a blade, the other 2 are non existent anymore. Attention management, it would be nice for your customers to feel some air movement due to florida heat. Fix all of your fans.

One of our favorite places in St. Pete! Definitely need to order clam strips and fried oysters! It's tucked away, so slow down when your GPS says you're close. It's right off of the water, so you can dock your boat as well. Enjoy your toes in the sand, or inside the giant tiki hut. Menu is on TabUp, so be sure to have your phone with you to scan the QR code. Oh, and Tuesdays they allow dogs to dine with you!

This is a fantastic spot for some drinks on a sunny afternoon. This hole in the wall restaurant/bar is right on the water and has some amazing views. They have 2 bars — the main one is covered with open air seating and the smaller bar is inside a tiki hut right next to the water. Great selection of beers and pretty much any cocktail you can dream up.

We love this place. I have dinged it for its style of service. They use tabup app for the menu and ordering. Pain in butt, but food and drinks show up fast. Employees are super friendly. Menu and beverage selection is great. Worth it!

This is the beach restaurant I never knew I was missing. They have the option to sit in a covered patio or at tables that are literally on the beach. I took my sandals of and ate lunch with my feet in the sand. Bring your cell phones as the whole menu and payment system is through an app. Such a relaxing place to eat. The food was amazing as well. Everything we ordered was fantastic. We had tacos with tuna and it was a refreshing twist on fish tacos. The volcano shrimp were also notably delicious. Don't hesitate. Go eat here.

Great location! Jalapeño poppers were tasty (like anything with bacon)! The Mahi Sandwich was nice as well. We had a dolphin swim to the beech to feed as well, which was a nice sight! Will definitely come back when we are in the neighborhood again.

One of the best Mai Tai cocktails in the area. We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed sitting outside by the water. Try the avocado appetizer and the Yucca fries for something different!

My fav hidden local gem! The service is now via the app, order everything on it and pay on it. Be ready to do it so you are not surprised. Very beachy relaxed feel by the water here. I love the food here too.

What a magical place and you wouldn't even know that it's there! The second to step on their beautiful grounds you feel like you're on vacation in a tropical paradise! Tiki bars, string lights, beach chairs, and lush landscaping creating just perfect atmosphere. It's right on the intracoastal and to can watch boats go by. We sat by the bar so didn't have to use the app that people complained about. Not sure how I'd feel about that but since we didn't have to use it, our experience was great. My crab and shrimp quesadilla was pricey at $19.50 but delicious!

First time visiting this place. At first, I was confused because nobody greeted us at what appeared to be the main entrance and we did not see any signs indicating we should wait to be seated or to seat ourselves. We ended up seating ourselves and shortly after a server greeted us and was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the view of the water was awesome.

This is one delightful place with an unexpected pleasant ambiance of a beach dining experience. The food quality was very good and certainly met our expectations. The noice level was low and the fun level was high. The hospitality was terrific and we felt cared for. High value for the money. By the way we had not the best Bloody Mary because that is reserved for top of the mountain in Steamboat Springs and it it was really good. Treat yourself!

Easier to get into version of the Salt Shack. Equivalent view and drinks with a step down in food. Similarly, go for the view with a great relaxing atmosphere. Half the tables are on beach sand, so kick off the flip flops. Drinks are tiki-vibe tropicals and meet the grade. The food is average at best so don't go outside if simple bar food choices.

This place is amazing! The views, that water, the drinks, and the service! I would definitely recommend. It's very laid-back with good vibes all around and relaxing music. Go! Only reason it was not a 5 star is due to the grits. They were absolutely hard!

This place is just so charming! It truly is a getaway. The food was really delicious and the drinks were strong. Haha They don't accept cash. You download an app on your phone and scan the QR code on the table and then you place your order and pay on your phone. Make sure you checkout when you're done just in case you still want to order food or drinks. You still have a server that comes to your table to make sure everything is OK. The prices weren't bad either. The view is tranquil and next door you can rent paddleboards and kayaks I believe. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

What a sleeper!!! I far as I was concerned...you would never know it was there! No sign on the street that I saw..the gps saved the day. Anyway..the parking lot was a disaster.Pot holes filled with water. Saw a sign that said the Getaway with an arrow..so followed it. Walked up the ramp,took a left and..surprise,surprise!! Tiki bars in two different places,and tiki roofs over nice round tables. This place overlooks a couple of beautiful lagoons off of Tampa Bay. Drinks and food were excellant.Very pleasant staff and a comfortable atmosphere. You might ask...would you go back... absolutely! It's worth the ride.

We love this place for the beautiful setting on the water and for the food. They have tables in the shade of a tiki hut roof and others out in a garden setting. We’ve only been for lunch, but it looks like it must be a popular night spot. I had mahi tacos, blackened and they were delicious. My niece had a poke salad with fresh tuna, and she said it was amazing.

The Getaway is a nice place to hide out and get some good food and drinks. It is a family friendly place for the kids but also has the bar area for adults. It definitely brings a Keys vibe to Tampa. If you need to kill some time because you don’t want to sit in traffic on the Gandy bridge heading to Tampa you should definitely check this place out.

There are two other places, that are near identical to the Getaway; same menu and by the water. The Getaway is the best of the similar restaurants I've been to. The food was served fast and fresh. I asked our server what she thought was good and she said the grouper or shrimp tacos. I had the shrimp tacos and really enjoyed them. I asked around the tabled and all my buddies said they liked what they got. I will definitely be back.

Tucked away with nice reggae music and laid back environment. So laid back that they had dozens of honeybees roaming free around their central bar and no one seemed to mind. I had a few interactions. No harm done but I'd rather not have them buzzing around the table. No incidents during our 3 hour stay. The place was clean and sexy. Our waiter Chris was super nice and had respectable opinions. Location and environment is good for families, romantic for couples, and chill for a casual island-vibe lunch with coworkers. I love this place. We will be back.

This was a really fun place. Was there for lunch with friends. The food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was excellent. Table with Adirondack style chairs, right along the water. Palm trees, Manatee sightings. Good menu with a nice selection of seafood. We had Smoked Fish appetizers, Grouper tacos, and shrimp quesadillas. All were very tasty. The purple drink came with a flower!

We finished up a listing appointment and needed something to eat and we stumbled upon the Getaway. We totally lucked out!! The jalapeño poppers have been featured on the Food Network (and were fabulous), the mahi mahi tacos were mouthwatering, and the adult grilled cheese as to die for. The views of the water were spectacular as were the fresh breezes. The servers were very attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend a visit and will be stopping by again myself!

Great little hidden gem on the water. From the road you think it is a little shack but then you walk through the parking lot and discover a beautiful tiki hut on the water then to the right there is another bar with high top tables overlooking the water. I had the ceasar wrap with blackened shrimp. My boyfriend had the blackened grouper sandwich and his son had the cuban. All were delicious. Sides are extra and if you get the fries, share them they are huge. The yucca fries were small portions but delicious! Our server, Andrew was polite, quick and knowledgeable about the menu. There is a DJ playing music and a dance floor. A great place to go!

Food was okay, but everything else was amazing! The views and the service made the trip well worth it. We were lucky to go on a quiet evening with blue skies. Even saw many manatees swim by, you can even go out on the dock to get a closer look! We sat outside facing the water, what a treat! I got the grouper sandwich, I wouldn't recommend that.

Been here twice now and both times have been great. The calamari was so delicious and flavorful. I also got a mojito and it was perfect. This is a great spot to hang out and catch up with friends and chill with live music.

My girlfriends and I stopped at the Getaway for lunch today after doing some kayaking and paddle boarding. We got there just before it really started to get busy, but the service was a little slow. Our server was really nice, I think he had too many tables to keep up with. So we were sitting for a good little while before we could order our food. I ordered the seafood omelet, my girlfriends had the tuna tacos and fried grouper sandwich. Plus we had margaritas and painkillers. All of the food was tasty and the weather was still beautiful. I love coming to this place after being out on the water. I hope the service is a little better next time. That's reallybthe only reason for the 3 stars.

Great spot to chill and grab dinner. It’s a great atmosphere for adults and families with kids. Good place for some sunset drinks too. Mahi sandwich was huge! Sweet potato fries were delish. Check this place out.

Nice atmosphere on a beautiful Florida day by the bay. The food looked delicious but was very disappointed as the grouper was more breading than fish. Also order conch fritters which were just ok. The staff was very friendly and service was quick.

We came here right after we landed from Chicago and I could not have asked for a better place to feel like I was truly on vacation. The ambience is definitely tropical. I love the different games that you can play and it's definitely a child friendly place which is always a plus. Their drinks and food are excellent. The first time I tried lobster tacos and hopefully not the last. Chrissy our bartender was so sweet and makes an excellent mai tai! She was very knowledgeable and professional. She made us feel right at home. No doubt we will come back here the next time we visit.

Live music is awesome here. Outside bar and sand seating. Food is mostly $13-$18 range due to the majority of it being seafood. But it's worth it. Shrimp Po Boy is incredible. Awesome wait staff. Go here when family visits or you want a chill vibe.

Was super hot and muggy, very glad to find spots at the Tiki bar. Ordered a few apps and started off Sunday Funday with some amazing drinks. I was in the mood for Tequilla so opted for the Islamorada. Tried the Volcano shrimp and Coconut shrimp. The Volcano shrimp were the best and I'd recommend these.

The location is beautiful, with seating for large groups even, right near the water on the sand. Also, the food was delicious but a bit pricier than what is normal for what we got. The service was a bit scattered and did not fully accomodate for the dietary restrictions that were presented. Otherwise, it's a good place I'd come back to.

The Getaway is a lovely establishment. The environment was laid back and relaxing. The aesthetic gives me Caribbean vibes. We had the crab/shrimp quesadilla and burger. It was so good that i forgot to take a pic. We were stuffed and had to take a moment to let it digest before we hopped back on the Jet ski. There is an area with chairs to sit by the water and talk. Oh and the service was great. Definitely a win

Generally decent menu although they don’t have menus anymore you have to use a phone and scan it and try to see the menu on your small phone screen I don’t think they realize this is a annoyance I think it’s a mistake although the last two or three times I’ve been here the food the chef the cooking has been very very good here’s a picture of the latest Caesar salad with the lumps of deep-fried lobster it was amazing.

A must visit if you are in St Pete. Friendly staff. Decent restrooms. Cold drinks that bit overpriced- however you are just buying the opportunity to have a moment of r n r in a beautiful waterfront spot. Super peaceful.

Went in for happy hour yesterday. Great location. Super friendly and attentive waitress. Reason I am not giving full 5 stars is the wings we ordered were over cooked and the costs of our drinks. We ordered double tall Don Julios which came out to $26 a piece. For a beach bar in St. Pete, that is crazy high. I get the same drink at Ruth Chris and it's $5 cheaper. Management should take a look at their pricing. Everything else was great!

Had lunch on Sunday around 3:30 pm. Loved the atmosphere and layout of the grounds. It’s a seat yourself restaurant which is fine but it took at least 10min for the waitress to notice our 4 adults and 3 children. Seemed to be short staffed or just slow in general. Food was ok at best. Main pet peeve was the size of the drinks. We drank cokes out of very small cups that requires a lot of refills. And if you can’t keep up with refills then get larger cups.

This one of our favorite spots! The location is actually insane. You can eat with your feet in the sand or under the nice covered restaurant. Island vibe, soft reggae going. Perfection. While you’re eating dolphins and manatees are popping up all over to say their hellos! Great for brunch and sun or dinner and a sunset. Always good for a bevvie! Hurricanes are slammin. Get. A. The atmosphere was wonderful. Right on the water. Plenty of seating in the shade if you want. The only downsize was the price. Very expensive. We were going to get something to hold us over till dinner. Hamburgers started at 17 a piece. We got chips and queso and it was 10 and yhe queso was just melted cheese. It had NO flavoring, spices,peppers or anything to give it flavor. It was not worth 2. It's a great place to hang talk with friends and drink.

Received a basket of Tostitos chips clearly not what the photo presented and cost to venue much less than the 11.00 they charge lol! Queso was nothing to be desired as well. This place is very pretty and the vibe is really nice. The drinks were OK... They don't have a variety of food or sides, they charge you $4 to change the potato salad for fries. I order a hamburger without no cheese, when the order came out it had a little bit of cheese and I'm lactose intolerant. The meat wasn't fully cooked. My boyfriend had an allergy reaction, he ordered a chicken sandwich and some fries. The view is really nice but isn't worth the money!

I have lived here for 30 years and have never been here until Saturday. It was pretty busy and food orders took a while, but the food was so good, definitely worth the wait. We had conch fritters and they took me back to the Bahamas. We had soft shell crab sandwiches and they took me back to Louisiana. If you order the soft shell sandwich, make sure you ask for condiments. The sandwich doesn't have any. Drinks were a little pricey but the atmosphere, ambiance and scenery are worth it. A definite place to go with friends or family. I will be back.

Food was great and it's a really nice location. I went with my grandparents and there were no paper menus available, we were only able to access the menu via a QR code. Not a big deal for me, but with lots of seniors in the area, I really think they should offer a paper menu option as not all seniors have smart phones. Otherwise, it's a really cool spot.

The Getaway is a hidden gem! It's a resort minus the lodging. Come by car, by foot or by boat! Plenty of slips for boats and parking is seemingly endless on the beach just outside the back entrance. Gorgeous beach decor and architecture. Views are incredible. Seating is everywhere. Gigantic tiki huts and umbrellas of all sizes. Patrons are welcome to bring their dog on Tuesdays. Drinks are strong, pretty and delicious. Food is amazing and well presented. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of the male bartenders takes $2 for his tip in addition to the cost of your drinks every round, plus he is much slower and rude. All other bartenders are fun, polite, happy and entertaining. I hope that issue resolves itself but I have to go out of my way to get drinks from a different bartender if he's on duty. They close at midnight on Saturdays too which is a big bummer if you are planning a late night with friends. All around a fun place for singles, couples or groups. I highly recommend The Getaway.

If you want to feel like you are on a vacation in Florida and live here this is the place. White sandy beach, comfy beach chairs and pina coladas! Tiki bar style! Amazing beach side spot! Definitely go there. Would've given 5 stars if there wasn't a DJ blaring music so loud you can't enjoy the atmosphere. Its a cool Island spot, doesn't need to be as loud as Saltys (that's why we prefer the Getaway) cancel the DJ and have some fun island music playing and use the natural beauty thats around the place . And button up that kitchen and serving staff so you retain staff and patrons would have a better experience. They'll have it right soon im sure!!!

This is a fun place where everyone wants to be. Right on the water, it's a beach party atmosphere. Party music blasting (actually played some " classics" from 10 - 15 years ago that the 20- somethings probably never head before), all the seating is outdoor or under tiki huts. I'm not going to give them a bad rating because we had to hunt and stalk for a table to open up, or because my chair was broken, or because the small bucket of alcohol I order was spilled everywhere as it was served to me. None of that matters in a place like this. The food was actually really good, which I didn't expect. So kudos to you, Getaway chef. Nevermind, he'll never hear me over the music.

Great hidden restaurant and bar surrounded by sand and coconut trees and live music on the weekends. . We went late at night around 10pm. They close at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The outside bar is spacious and over all nice. The rum runners were yummy. From what I saw the food looked great and there was a large variety of foods on the menu with lots of fresh seafood. We'll have to go try the food one day. The ambience is very beachy. Bathrooms could definitely use some upgrades and cleaning. Like I said your on the water so there is a lot of sand everywhere. They have beach chairs and docks to sit and relax. There is also docks for boats to pull up and enjoy the place. They have a small beach area. Only problem we had was with the mosquitos. I dont usually get bit but there were a lot out there and it became uncomfortable for all of us. Check this awesome place out but take some repellent!

We've been coming here for the better part of 10 years. Great view, food is always pretty good, but the drink prices have skyrocketed. Recently, ordered apps + drinks. Corona ($6.50) for me, single well rum + coke for my wife and daughter. Received the tab and was charged $10 for each well rum & coke. I questioned the cost of the cocktails with our server and was told that they "ran out of well rum" and were serving Bacardi. Shouldn't we have been told that? We don't seem to notice the same kind of crowds that once were here. Our tab for 2 Coronas, 2 well rum & cokes, 1 order of quesadillas, 1 order of chips & queso came to $69.93, that included a $10.00 tip. Bottom line: there are a lot choices out there and we are not likely to return anymore.

Extremely fun place we actually did a YouTube video about our stop here and I must say it's quite the little Tiki getaway right off Gandy Beach it's located right near the boat harbor which is very interesting the food is a bit pricey but to be expected especially considering the location and area that you're at near st. Pete. I would recommend stopping here at least once to see what you think there is Waterfront seating and a full Liquor Bar in the back of the restaurant as well as another little spot for renting canoes and paddle boards it's quite the little spot

The ambiance of this place is great. I love being by the water and sitting outside on the sand. I would like to start by saying this place had amazing food before 2020 lockdowns. I went for the first time today since 2020 and I was not as impressed. The chips and queso were the same quality you would find at a ballgame. You know the kind, perfectly round chips and cheese out of a can. My second issue with the food was my bbq chicken chopped salad. It was different than the description and picture on the menu. They used spring mix instead of chopped romaine, no onion straws, you have to mix in the salad dressing and bbq sauce yourself and the chicken looked like they chopped up chicken nuggets. This was very disappointing since this had been my favorite thing to order before. I sent it back for a Cuban sandwich which was good. My friends ordered the burger and quesadilla without complaint. Overall I had to give 3 stars today.

The scenery is very nice. Parking can be limited. We had to park at the public beach and walk a short distance over. I ordered the Mahi sandwich. The fish was dry. The sandwich came with only lettuce and onion, no tomatoes, like the picture on the menu. It also did not come with the citrus remoulade as listed on the menu. Maybe they ran out of ingredients as it was a busy time, but for $17.50 I expected better. The calamari with the volcano sauce was amazing. The virgin pina colada was also very nice. It was fresh, not too sweet, and had ice slush. Cheese fries were ok. My friend liked them, but I thought they were too plain. Sweet potato fries were decent. Update May 2022: Getaway Burger I tried the Getaway Burger. Costed $18, but it’s a huge burger, could definitely serve as two meals. It was much better than the Mahi sandwich. Much more moist/tender. It is a lot of meat. It’s a burger topped with sloppy joe. However they put no sauce on it which made it fairly bland. I asked for BBQ sauce on the side Also it was one small slice of pineapple. I'd ask for a few bigger slices of pineapple next time. However I wouldn't be back next time unless I'm tagging along with someone else. It is a nice atmosphere but the food is just subpar.

My only problem... there really wasnt a dinner menu. It was really an app's and drink place but super lively and you can sit on the beach.

Food was ok, service needs work, view was pleasant. They were out of several things. Friend that lives locally was surprised with the outcome of our visit. Fried shrimp was good, fries were meh, crab & shrimp quesedilla was ok. No draft beer? Odd for a bar if you ask me.

Great ambiance and quality service, we had a great time. Great space. Server was fantastic and helpful. Unfortunately, however, I have to repeat some of the other negative reviews for two reasons. 1. Portions are small, particularly the cocktails and appetizers (at least the ones we got), which makes the prices high for what you get. 2. I like the mobile ordering approach, but the application they use is clunky and confusing. The checkout process, for instance, is laid out in a way to trick you into submitting with a default tip. I'm a high tipper usually, but I felt a bit taken advantage of by the app since it wasn't my choice (at least not clearly so). We had a good server so it was fine, but I might suggest the restaurant explore an alternative application because this one left a bad impression. Having said all that, I will reiterate that we had a good time, and the quality service kept us in a cheerful mood.

This is a great place for an outdoor tropical hangout experience. The menu is impressive and the food is good. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Get there early though as the place gets packed.

Food is good but the portions are smaller than I would of thought. It's all cashless so be prepared to use a card. The ice cream was good but very tiny amount for the price. The location is snuggled up to the bay and a dolphin was hanging around. But other than the location I was not impressed with anything else. The servers were nice, but also you have to download an app on your phone to order. I still live in 2021 and perhaps this is the future but for now not my thing.

The food was good, the views were nice, however the service at this restaurant is just weird. I am used to using QR code menus however this place required you to download a special app just to view their menu. We were unsure if we were supposed to order through the app or through our server. I think our server was unsure too. This place could have had 5 stars if they didn't have such a cumbersome menu/ordering process. Added a lot of stress and confusion.

Went here for team outing from work. We had a table near the water. Server told us to order through an app on phone. We were putting the order in for all of us as the boss was paying . Got half way through and the app closed. After some discussion the server told us he would take order manually. A minute later food arrived. It was one order but 4 of same order came out. The menu system needs work. Other than that it was ok. The food was good, not fantastic. Server was very attentive and polite. The setting is awesome.

The good: Location, right on the water and sunsets bring gorgeous colors. The vibe is great. We loved our cocktails. Also you can park on the beach side if there are no room at the parking lot, so never an issue going around finding a place to park. The bad: food is meh, you just need to know you don’t go there for the food. The ugly: their ordering app is a disaster. Tons of error messages, you enter all you credit card details with pictures and all. When checking out it took the tip without asking me how much I wanted to add. My 3 other friends all got issues also. You end up spending half of your time at this place trying to figure out that app that is obviously not ready to be used. It’s not even beta level. It’s too bad that their app is ruining the experience here.

Great environment, decent finger foods. Their drinks could use a little spike. However, most places make watered down drinks. Therefore, I stick with beer when I go out and make my own good cocktails, shots and on the rocks drinks when I stay home. I would recommend this place for the ambiance and a reason to get out the house during this COVID-19. There is plenty of room for social distancing, showing consideration to others and having a great time.

The Getaway is a cool idea. It's the ultimate beach bar because the tables are directly on the sand and It's right on the water. The DJ was amazing (especially for the 40+ crowd) and the food is quite good. Now the cons are in the service. In part because of the way the Getaway has set up the contactless ordering. It seems like the wait staff doesn't have a way to track which table items go out to. The servers are also rather unfriendly. I get it, they are working hard and through a pandemic, but maybe just a touch of civility. The frozen cocktails didn't come out very well for any person at our table but other than that it is a fun place.

3 stars for the location and vibe. Love the hammocks and the view. Hate the Tab up app-never works on my phone. Wait staff generally don't have any incentive to truly wait on you in the traditional sense. Getting things like more water or extra napkins is non-existent. Food is meh at best. I reserve this place to drink and chill. Don't expect an amazing dining experience.

So relaxing near the water. Mahi sandwich was delicious. My draft beer wasn't cold but It was tasty. Everything from menu to payment is on an App., So be prepared to download it and put your credit card information in if you want to get served. Maybe you don't need it @ the bar. Fun to watch the kids splashing in the water and beautiful boats.

Great view, yet secluded. We saw a dolphin! The order by app makes it difficult to ask questions or make modifications to an item, but thankfully the service was great and everyone was friendly which helped mitigate the issue. The food was good.

Amazing location along Gandy just on the St Pete side of the bridge. Massive outdoor space with multiple bars and plenty of seating. Cold drinks and reasonable prices. Service at the bars was quick and friendly, but card only as an FYI. Also be warned- you may have a bit of a walk from where you park if it's a busy night. However, you can always come by boat for the best parking (docking) spot on premises.

My very favorite place in all of the Tampa area. Every time I visit Tampa, I make sure to come here. I usually spend about 4 hours here. It’s the best place to chill, eat, drink and let the little ones run around. I would live here if I could! I was sad that the hammocks weren’t out when I visited last week, but the server told me they’ll probably bring them out closer to the summer.

What a fabulous, tropical atmosphere! This would be a great place for a special occasion or a nice date night. Very romantic setting. Prices were high and the food was mediocre. You are paying for the beautiful location.

Neat little spot on the bay. We did a birthday here and it was fun. Conch fritters were some of the best i tasted. They accommodated all 20 of us without a hiccup. Drinks were well made too. Lot of space by the bay to move around and sit by the water and sand.

Its a really cool spot... But everything seems to be truly expensive for the "return". It has lots of potential. But the food expensive average plate is about $17 not quite what you wanna spend on a chill outing.. a bucket of 5 beers of Corona $25 2 buckets $50. Makes people think twice for a return. On top of that they are cashless and you must download an app in order to get food... Why cant there be a waiter taking care of you, if you are going to tip out 18 -20%??????

Very busy, but what do you expect from an amazing restaurant? Delicious volcano shrimp. The steak nachos were great, and the wings were well-seasoned. The drinks were as good as it gets. We will be back!

Great service and good food. If you are not technologically inclined, you may get a little frustrated trying to order at first like me. But don't be deterred, the staff is more than happy to show you the ropes on ordering from their app. There's a boat dock, small beach, and tons of out door seating. Dogs are allowed on Tuesday's in the tiki hut area and the servers make sure your pup will have fresh cold water. As the name states, its a great little getaway bar/restaurant if you don't like going to the tourist hotspots in the area. My only complaint is that dogs aren't allowed everyday, but hey, ill take what I can get!

Good view on the water, drinks and food were decent. They have a custom app to handle all ordering and paying with qr codes at every table, even the beach chairs. The app... Needs a little work (requires rescanning the code every time you hit the back button or close the app, but at least it finds the check every time; it also lacks a history so you can see/resend the check to yourself after payment). The noseeums after sunset were plentiful too.

Great! The two people that greeted me were very friendly. The waitress was very attentive and my shrimp tacos on corn tortillas with pico and guacamole were delicious. You pay on your phone on an app called tabup before you eat, but the waitress still comes around and checks up on you all the time. You sit outside and there's a view of the water, very pleasant. A bit pricey but it's Florida with a water view. Would definitely recommend, and will come back!!!

I miss the Getaway! I wish we had a location closer to my house. When we were there our waitress was Erin. She was very friendly, helpful, and quick to serve us. We loved the casual atmosphere and how relaxed we felt. This is a great place to take a group of friends to, day or night. I hope I can return soon for awesome drinks and food!

I do not like to give negative reviews so I'm going to be honest and try not to be negative. Arrived with 11 people and it took quite a while to get our drinks and take our orders. Then after an hour and a half our food came out. I had the seafood omelette that was absolutely wonderful others had stuff come out cold and one person had Pepper's when she specifically ask for none. In defense of the restaurant it seems set up for drinking than serving food. The staff was attentive and did their best so most likely I will be back but not with a big group.

Had lunch and a couple of drinks. Great atmosphere and seating placement makes social distancing easy. Food was very good. Drinks were more expensive than expected. No paper menus available, only electronic download. With poor reception I found it difficult to download menu so gave up and just asked server for recommendations. $126 for 4 drinks, 2 lunch entrees, and an appetizer seemed a bit much. Servers and food runners were great and attentive. I did find it odd that staff was not required to were masks however we were outdoors, but they are still in close proximity to the food and beverages they serve to their tables. Will be back, just may need to save up, lol. Great experience with the exception of the sticker shock of the bill.

We went yesterday and it's a great location with an incredible DJ!! The food was pretty good but 1 star away for sub-par drinks. We came with an group and the lights were also out in a section which became really bad as the sun went down. All things I could deal with but the sub-par drinks really tarnished an incredible location, with beautiful views and a great ambiance.

Only downside is having to use the TabUp app to order anything and everything. It’s inconvenient and unreliable and detracts from the very friendly servers providing traditional wait service. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, food is pretty good, excellent lobster tacos! Drinks are good but pricey. Will keep going back even if only for the location!

The drinks were great! A bit pricey, but tasted delicious! Had fish spread which was quite flavorful... our waiter Mickey was very attentive and helpful! We both got the shrimp quesadillas, which were filled with fat juicy shrimps and lots of cheese... Wonderful! And above all, the setting was perfect! Right on the water with cool breezes blowing the whole time and great music playing... but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation... all in all, a great night out!

The food is very good, but not quite worth the price. I paid $6 to add a tiny bit of avocado and cheese to my shrimp tacos, which were over $16 to begin with (for two tacos). I asked for a to-go order to take home for someone, and it took a full hour to receive. When I tried to tell my server that I just wanted to cancel that because of the wait (it was obviously forgotten), he said it was coming right out...it definitely was not. But he was still training, and was otherwise great. The location is nice. I’d probably go back for drinks & maybe appetizers, but the overall experience was not the best.

This weekend...No menus, and they don't take cash. what should have been a fun dining experience, turned into awkwardness... 6 months ago... businesses are struggling and I'm disappointed to see such harsh criticism from recent diners. I ordered a cobb salad and it was good. My friend ordered a grouper sandwich and it was fine. We both had fresh brewed sweet tea. Service was slow but we were not in a hurry. The dolphin were playing right in front of us; a mamma and her babies. What a show! The views here cannot be beat. Almost every seat (and there are MANY) has a waterfront view. Don't miss this. Just go. Pick a nice day and treat yourself. The prices are comparable to most eateries in this area. But the show 😎 and the view beats all.

Hidden gem! Beautiful spot right on the water, laid back atmosphere and good food. We ate right in the sand, great view. The only reason for 3 stars is the tabup app that you MUST use to both view the menu, order your food and pay your bill. It had a very kiosk, robot, no human involvement feel and really made the experience less enjoyable. The app gave us all kinds of issues, kept giving errors when we tried to submit the order, submitted the order multiple times, had to save card info to app...which I NEVER do. Will not be back until this is not their "new norm", really a shame.
