I don't get it. Shake shack is west coast famous? But dropping it into a trendy development with no parking lot was dumb. Lots of staff, but no one knows how to run a register? Good thing I arrived when I was the only order in line. This could get slow ugly quick....( To jump to the end of the story, I did). Double burger was real tasty. I'll forgive the slow, because it's hand made? Strawberry 🍓 shake was super avg and expensive for what I got. Lots of places in Tampa to buy a $8-9 burger. 6 people tripped over the door mat, while I waited then ate. Straighten it when I got up to leave. My timing 2as perfect. Soon as my order was in a parade of locals who live work in the complex arrived and you could tell it was going to be a huge wait. And it was. All around, unimpressed. Food was better than avg, but not worth the long line I sat and watched, while I was eating. No parking spots available ( again I was lucky) not on my list of top places in Tampa.

We came in for lunch and I gotta say that I really like that we can just order from the kiosk. The restaurant is nice and clean. The bathrooms are clean and all utilities are hands free. We waited about 10 mins for our food. They have a side table with napkins, straws, ketchup, and water. Tables were clean and I like that they used reclaimed wood. The burger was really small and not that tasty. I was expecting more I guess. The fries were good and the drink as well. I took two stars off because for this price and taste, I rather go to Chick-fil-A.

The food is fine. Your typical fast food hamburger and fry joint. The burger is pretty good, the fries are the same crinkle cut fries you were served in the high school cafeteria. Management and staff were polite. The issue: small portions, long waits and extreme prices. $18 for a double cheeseburger, fry and soda. And you’ll still probably leave hungry. Insane. Those are nearly the prices you’d pay at the J Alexander’s across the street. Pictured is the meal that I got for almost $20. Does that look like twenty dollars worth of food? Go to 5 guys to get more burger and fry for less money.

Don’t understand a lot of the negative reviews. Still the best fast food burger in the game. Our third experience at this location and the food is as good as always. Complaints about parking? It’s Midtown, the whole area is this way, I’ve never had problem finding parking and walking it out a bit. Text message updates? Timely and work each time. They have some TVs usually playing sports, the location is clean including the bathrooms, and once again, the food most importantly is fresh and delicious. Always get the cherry peppers! Would I frequent a bit more if it was a standalone location with easier parking? Maybe, but the times I’ve eaten here, the food has been like times I’ve eaten at other locations across the country. Only things I’ll say is the service comes without a smile or so much as a care that you are there. But if you don’t care about that for a fast food restaurant, it’s all good. Lastly, they could use a better vegetarian option or two, the Shroom burger was good but overloaded with fried cheese - that’s likely not a location specific issue though.

Totally the best Shake Shack ever. There was a surprising number of people here (like 3 groups), as every other SS I’ve been too is more than standing room only. (It’s a Weds at 5:30pm). The Double Smoke Shack was really good: we’ll put together and temperature HOT (a burger joint requirement of mine). Regular fries, also hot. Good job, Team Shack…bravo. (No food pics…plenty posted already)

Hamburger heaven!!! This was my **EDITED** third-time having shake shack. The first time: take-out while in midtown. the second time: delivery. The third time: dine in. Wow. Each time. Both of our experiences have been pleasant. First and foremost, the staff. During our visit, we noticed and were greeted from super friendly employees that really made you feel welcomed despite just being at a burger joint. And even considering the foot traffic that comes in and out this restaurant-they’re efficient, speedy, and courteous. The staff here is great. Shake shack may have the recipe BUT the employees at this establishment are the ones who execute it, and execute it well. If you ever visit be mindful the space is small, but definitely has personality especially considering the fact that they have a comfortable outside seating area! As for the food? 10/10 The fries are perfectly crispy and crunchy each time and the plant-based mushroom burger is sooooo good! my best friend accidentally ate my burger the first time we ordered take-out and had no idea it was meat-less. All in all this fast-food place is impressive. The fact that our delivery bag had a “thank you” note in it reigns supreme…like seriously who does that? Top tier restaurants that’s who! Shake shack was delicious the first time and our delivery on Ubereats made my afternoon as the icing on the cake. If you think this review is me over reacting, until you’ve tried THIS shake shack you can beg to differ. I highly recommend them! Not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from, but if shake shack wants to reward someone for enjoying their delicious products count me in😂 P.S my best friend eats meat and says the burgers are bussin! Try it for yourself!

This is my guilty pleasure meal. Especially right now because they partnered with Milk Bar for their special shakes. If you know Milk Bar… then this is a very cool collaboration! I was so happy to see Milk Bar come to Florida, even though it is just a tiny thing here in Shake Shack. I tried the corn flake shake, and it was good. I do wish the corn flavor was a little stronger because if you’ve had the cornflake ice cream at a Milk Bar, then you know the flavor comes through strong, but over the top. I ordered a couple burgers and all were so great. Served exactly how we ordered them, hot and fresh. The fries were thick crinkle cut. They were so crispy and salty. Perfect! The ordering is cool here because you walk in and order on an iPad and pay right there at your order station with your card. If you pay cash, there’s an area for them to accept that too. The condiment bar is very simple and doesn’t offer a lot in terms of sauce. Which I kind of like because the food doesn’t need much else to help with flavor and stands out on its own. The burgers are pretty simple here and not crazy with flavors and toppings.

Update: Shake Shack contacted me and offered to comp my next meal, this meal was much better, and I enjoyed using the app to order. The wait time wasn’t as long and the food was much better! One more star for customer service and the improved meal. Pictures are before and after! Don’t waste your money. I had the regular fries - they had a good consistency but absolutely no seasoning. I got the chicken sandwich and it was literally a chicken nugget. The quality of the chicken was absolutely horrid. It was hard and stringy and gross. I couldn’t even eat it - it was like eating tree bark. And the sandwich itself was fine. We also waited 20 minutes for our order and it was disappointing when we finally got it. We also got the vanilla cola shake which we enjoyed.

I gave Shake Shack a 2nd try and I just can’t get with this place. Burger lacks flavor, fries no seasoning, half and half was bland… just a very underwhelming experience. 3 stars due to staff politeness and location cleanliness. Shake shack just isn’t for me.

I first tasted this burger on a trip to New York and loved them instantly. Meat is good quality and hormone free. Meat is cooked to order which makes it fresh and delicious. The signature shake shack sauce is amazing. The shakes and crinkle fries are good too. Haven't had their burgers in almost 2 years and they taste as good as I remember.

Cheeseburgers were good but toppings had to be redistributed as the burger was stuffed like a hotdog with the bun not cut all the way through. The toppings are front-heavy hanging out the visible front of the sandwich, possibly for aesthetics at the expense of well-balanced bites. If eating the sandwich as is, you could finish all the toppings in two bites leaving the rest with only cheese. I had to open the burger and spread everything out with my fingers as utensils are not provided. Other than that the burger was nice. The fries were a bit pale and forgettable and the chicken nuggets were decidedly not very good. The chicken was tender but the breading/batter was too salty, mealy, didn’t stick well and seemed to have too much egg wash. The ordering process was easy though some touchscreens were down, and getting a table inside is a bit cutthroat. Would have expected a larger dining room for it being the only location serving Tampa Bay.

Probably most people have eaten at a Shake Shack. My son and I had the spicy, bacon, cheeseburger. It's good, but not very spicy. I had a chocolate shake. The food was quite good. They are a little pricey. Like many places, you can order at a kiosk or at the register. Service was prompt and courteous. Definitely try them out if you haven't already.

Hands Down our favorite burger shop! This location is busy, but worth the wait. Anywhere we find a Shake Shack, we will gladly hand them our money. Always the same taste consistency no matter what location you go to. I’ve eaten at 10 different location through the world, so trust me Shake Shack is worth the price!

Great, friendly staff and my burger was good. The vanilla ice cream ran out so I wasn’t able to get the root beer float or cookies and cream shake I paid to get. Was offered chocolate cookies and cream shakes instead. No real complaints. It Did take 15 mins (was still very busy for closing time) but I came at 850pm and was grateful to be able to order and eat.

Quick tip below!! I always stop at Shake Shack when I visit friends in Denver and I’m so happy they brought one to my Tampa!! The burgers are awesome and the fries are my favorite. The ordering seems a little difficult but it’s probably because of the amount of people coming in since it opened. I think they should let you order from your table, if you need to use a touch screen anyways. Quick tip: if you pay with cash the line is shorter. You’re welcome.

Have read some negative reviews. Maybe they had a bad cook that day. I went Sunday June 12, 2022. Previously I only tried a milkshake, which was great. My daughter and I each had a single burger and cheese fries. The burger was perfect. Cooked to a medium well. Very tasty. The cheese on the fries was also outstanding. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in Tampa. Had another milkshake and my daughter had a cup of vanilla custard. Great topper to a great meal.

I was lucky enough to get an invitation to the soft opening of Shake Shack at Midtown. It was delicious! I ordered the Shack Stack, bacon cheese fries, and a vanilla malted shake. The Shack Stack had a great crunch with the mushrooms baked like an onion ring and in cheese! My only knock was that the fries could have been cooked a little well done so it would stay crunchy against the cheese sauce. Otherwise it was awesome! 👍

I would have left 5 stars , unfortunately my first order was buy one get one and I did call in advance to ask nicely if I could get one burger and one chicken sandwich instead of 2 of the same thing , but was told promptly with no hesitation NO by a female, just saying... Very good sandwich though, just wish I could try the other and not 2 of the same , it's little things like that ' that can make a difference and change the customer experience. I wanted to try this chain for the first time. I saw the 3.6 rating for this Tampa location, I was a little skeptical but went for it with my family, the location was spotless, had good smells, the ambient and the music was perfect for a Friday rainy night. The burgers tasted different than other chains, and the drinks tasted healthy without a pound of sugar. My kids had a great time and we look forward to returning soon.

I haven’t eaten here yet. Somehow the door was open when I went (not fully closed) but they had closed up early. But since I was already inside I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take nice photos of the place. Don’t like the fact that they advertised being open on Sunday’s until 9pm only to find it a ghost town at 730pm, which is why I deducted a star. If it’s anything like all the other shake shacks, the hamburgers will be bomb, the fries will be crinkly cut amazingness and the frozen custard will melt around your mouth leaving the perfect texture and flavour there.

Excited that shake shack opened up in Midtown! I got over there asap and tried their double bacon burger which was delish. The cherry peppers in it are pretty spicy though! 🥵 I think next time I would get it without the peppers because it was overpowering. The cheese fries were yummy & I’m glad I tried them. Next time I’d probably get plain tho! Over all really good!! Not anything outstanding but it was really yummy! The customer service was great as well and even though the restaurant was packed, we didn’t have to wait too long!

The food was tasty, especially the fries. Portions are small for the price you're paying. Its too expensive for so little. You'd be better off going to Steak N Shake when it comes to the burgers and shakes. The cookies and cream shake I got was especially disappointing. Given that this company has "Shake" as the first word in their name, you'd think they'd be good. Half of the kiosks were frozen, the tables were dirty and the expo area was disorganized. They had shelves for pick up orders but it was empty and the orders were just crowding the expo window.

I was unaware of no pet allow in store, so I brought my dog with me that day. My dog was thirsty outside when we waiting for the food and the clerk are nice to give him a big bowl of cold water to keep him hydrate. And the store has the free parking lot close by, like 3 min walk. Food are just same as other shake shacks. I like the strawberry milkshake.

Very tasty burgers and hot dogs! Looking forward to trying other menu items, especially the shakes. Service? You place your order online or use touchscreens. You receive a text message that your order is ready and they will bring it out, but that doesn't happen. They shout out your name, hopefully louder than all the TVs, and you go pick up your food. So there was no Service provided worth the default 10% tip.

I was lucky for the chance to go to their soft opening. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The location was beautiful, clean, and orderly. The food was good although the famous shack sauce seemed a bit plain. Loved that I could customize my burger to have cherry peppers on it (my fave!) and wrapped in lettuce as a keto/low carb option. I got the cheese fries (hey — I got the lettuce bun so I had wiggle room for carbs) and my friend got the regular burger and the cookies and cream shake which was thick and delicious. I saw there were wine and beer options available on the self serve touch menu too. After this easy ordering process, they text you when you meal is ready. Kudos for the paper straws too. All in all, a great time. Can’t wait for construction to be over so it’s easier to get to.

It was great! Line was pretty long as expected but I ordered from the kiosk and it was seamless and it took less than 2 minutes. Parking was at a garage that was a 5ish minute walk. Seems it’ll be easier once construction is done and there is more open in the surrounding area. There is a pretty limited amount of seating inside probably due to the amount of people but there’s indoor and outdoor. Prices are obviously more than Chikfila if you need some sort of comparison but I’m just glad they finally came to Tampa. We needed a Shake Shack.

No big shakes! They have a great shake shak burger! But it’s seriously no big shakes like everyone is raving about. It’s just like a Steak n Shake burger, only Steak ‘n Shake let’s you choose the condiments, and a Shake Shak cheeseburger comes with lettuce, tomato, and their Shake shak sauce. It’s buttery tasting, made to order and quite delish! I visited on a Wednesday around 230p in the rain hoping to avoid the crowd. It was packed inside the dining room, and a long line inside to order. Sadly, all machines were down, so there was only 1 working machine and a long line - see pics of down machines. Plus the kitchen is slammed busy with orders from DoorDash, Uber, Grubhub, and more. It’s great food for the area, but it’s no big shakes in my opinion.

Good for fast food, but it’s not that fast. The pickup system is not efficient and consistently leaves a lot to be desired. Placing a pickup order on the app is supposed to make things more convenient. An example: I received a text at 12:23 pm saying to head to the “pickup shelf” because my order was almost ready. But repeatedly, that pickup shelf is not being utilized. It took me until 12:37 to get my order, which had been sitting behind the counter the whole time. Like I said, this happens almost every time. I know it was the lunch rush which is why I ordered ahead. Kind of defeats the purpose if I still have to wait to get a busy employee’s attention just to find out if my order is just sitting back there because they didn’t use the pickup area.

Stopped in here last weekend! The food was good, but truly what made the experience awesome was the customer service. One man came to me while I was ordering and informed me the credit card machine on the automated ordering station was acting up and very politely invited me to order at the counter. We received our food and the man there was extremely friendly. Then, as we were packing up to get ready to leave, a very nice guy, CJ (I think his name was) walked over and took our tray and got me a refill to go before we walked out and was so pleasant— really seemed to care about the customer experience. For other burger joints, it seems like so many workers are rude, short, and treat customers as an inconvenience, and that is not the case here. I was very happy with my visit. Highly recommend!

The food was okay but this location seems to cater to students. The one I visited in Orlando is more put together and organized. My sandwich was a bit messy. We ordered the grape punch but they gave us strawberry lemonade.

The only thing “elevated” here are the prices. Nothing special about their burgers, and French fries, most likely frozen crinkle cut, were enormously overpriced for the serving portion. The staff seemed confused, unable to correctly note the order specials and a kitchen associate argued the point. 2 burgers , fries and 2 very small milkshakes resulted in an over $50 check. We will not be back. I’m unimpressed.

Loved it! It is very busy when I visited Friday during lunch. It was approx. a 15 min wait until we got the food. I had to be a hawk for a table since we were dining in, but people were respectful and left when they were done. Food was delicious and the Pride shake was really good. More like a strawberry shake. All Pride Shakes donate 5% to the Trevor Project. Highly recommend this place! I would suggest a speaker or microphone so people could hear their name inside or outside of the place. I would also suggest to pay cash for an alcoholic drink because we had to wait for a person to come check the ID, and they were too busy, so we decided to remove it and pay cash for it. Still a great experience and I'll def be back! 😊

I went there about a week ago and it wasn't bad. The shake (Oreo Funnel Cake) wasn't bad, but a little sweet. Still nothing to knock it. The burger I got (forgot the name, but it has cherry peppers on it) was very good. The only thing is for the price, it was pretty small. Overall a good experience in my opinion.

I grew up on burgers and fries. My family had a "fast food" drive in. We smashed each burger. Cut all the fries. Mom made the tarter sauce, potato salad and macaroni salad from scratch. I ordered the basic burger and my husband ordered a double and it was one of the best burgers I have had in years. The fries were crinkle cut and nice and crisp. Really took me back to the good old days!

The burgers are always delicious and the shakes are really good a well. Staff is friendly at this location and the price is not too high (although the Chicago location is an exception, as 2 people there will cost you $50). Bathrooms could have used a little love, if they could keep those as good as shape a the rest of the restaurant it would have been a top notch experience. Hands down prefer this place to 5 Guys, it's a no-brainer.

I had their signature Shake Shack burger and cheese fries, and I regret NOTHING!! I'm from Memphis, and the burgers here remind me of one of our most famous diners on Beale St., Dyers. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chill, and all the staff members were extremely helpful with the menu.

My son and I were moving some stuff for our old house to our new. We got a couple of salads and I picked the Greek one. I am not kidding when I say it was the best Greek Salad I’ve ever had. The dressing has to be hand made because it was amazing. Do yourself a favor a get one. They are amazing!

I don't understand all the excitement for this brand. The burgers are good but not anything special. Restricted and limited selection for toppings. The crinkle cut fries are very good. Their special drinks are too sweet to enjoy. Shakes are ok but serving size is small for the price.

My girlfriend and I went to shake shack about a week ago. The cheeseburgers and fries were amazing what their special cheese sauce on top is highly recommended. Parking can be found on the side of the building the staff was funny and very helpful. It seemed like there was great team camaraderie. Great job to the managers and the staff. I got the message stating my food was ready so I went there it was not. Then the app said it was ready it was not.... then after 10mins passed the time promised I randomly went there to get my food and finally it was ready. 😅 other than that, everything else is great. Went to shake shack it was ok slightly better then McDonald's but no combos are happy meal plan on spending at Least $15 to $20 per person. Red Robin is better and has more ambiance. Definitely not the best burgers but by the crowds you think it was allow 15 min or more to place your order and about another 15 for them to prepare it.

'Shroom burger and parmesan truffle fries pictured were good but nothing spectacular. It was difficult to bite all the way through this veggie burger as a stringy mushroom was in the patty.

It was OK for a quick lunchtime bite. The menu focuses on burgers and chicken sandwiches. I appreciated having a vegetarian option, some portobello mushroom thing stuffed with cheese and deep fried. It just didn't seems to have that much flavor though. I appreciated finding this place because I was very hungry but would probably not become a loyal customer. However, my husband really loved his burger so maybe the problem was with the item that I chose.

First time visiting one and wasn’t disappointed. The fries were hot and crispy, crinkle cut are my fave. The burger was a good size, not too big or small. The pattys weren’t anything extraordinary but still good. The bacon on my burger was crispy and plentiful, and there were big slices of avocado. The truffle burger was not visually appealing (smashed) but the flavor was on point. The draft root beer was delicious, don’t waste your money on their bottled bubbly water. It’s a good slightly above average burger for above average prices.

Please remember 3 stars is still a good review. Most expensive quick service burger I've yet had... And I couldn't even get pickles on my burger. Here's what I liked: The meat had a good, crispy sear. If you are going to way overcook your beef it better be crispy, juicy, and tender. It was. Crinkle cut fries, normally in not a fan, but they were crisp and fluffy. Also, crinkle fries hold cheese sauce better. What I didn't like: Forced to order from a terminal since I wasn't paying cash. They were allegedly "out of pickles." It was expensive, 2 burgers, 1 regular and 1 cheese fry and 1 root beer float was about $30! With those prices I surely hope Shake Shack pays all their employees a living wage, at least then the prices would be somewhat justified.

Definitely one of my top burger places. Food takes a bit to be ready, but it's hot and worth it. I love the burger, but the chicken nuggets are so good I have a hard time deciding, I ended up just getting some nuggets for the table and they were very much enjoyed. The burgers are a bit small. The tables were clean, the order was accurate. We ordered on a tablet which sped up the line.

Parking is convenient, ordering can be done in person or through an app. Also you can order in store at a kiosk or with an attendant. The staff seems happy to work there...the milkshakes are very thick you might need 2 straws

Overpriced, undervalued. I have heard several tales of friends visit to Shake Shack. I am unimpressed personally. For the price paid, the burger flavor was average, and the size was marginal. I do not value quantity over quality, but one would get a heck a lot more flavor and feel satiated with a trip to 5 Guys Burgers, and spend the same amount of money. The crinkle fries were just OK. And the shake was not impressive. Once again with the fries and shake, the flavor is much better at 5 Guys Burgers and Steak n Shake. And again, one would spend less money. I have tried it, and will not return. The staff was very friendly, so there is that!

Decent Burger! Food was a bit slow getting out but considering everything bis made fresh to order longer waits are expected. Kinda Disappointed in the cheese fries as the fries were a bit on the undercooked side. Don't get me wrong they weren't "raw" however personally I like my fries extra crispy to hold up the the cheese sauce. There was no way to to request that option. The Shake Shack signature Ale was very nice.

Went here for dinner, it was super busy but we got our food in a timely manner unlike some reviews said. However the food portions where pretty small, the chicken sandwich was more like a big chicken nugget. The burger tasted really good again was small. Fry amount was small. They need to up there portions. Shake was good but the straw needs to be bigger. Overall would dine again good flavors, the herb Mayo was good.

Ordered a hot dog all the way, fries, and a Smoke shack burger all the way. Everything tasted great but I think the buns are too small for a fully loaded burger

Went there again for the third time since they opened. Burgers are great. Fries & Shakes are great. Couldn't find the malt add-on after the first visit, not sure if they took that of the menu. I tried the fries plain, with cheese, & the honey something sauce. Honestly, i like them plain the best. I wouldn't mind trying a chili cheese version of their fries, maybe something that can be poured over once you sit at your table so they don't get soggy. I noticed they added additional seating outside, and added some some trellis roof extensions for some much appreciated shade. It's a bit out of the way for me, but i see myself going back there again.

My burger was good but fries were room temperature. TBH the burger tasted like and overpriced Steak N Shake burger. We spent $50 for 3 burgers (singles), 2 fries, 2 shakes, and a tea. I don't mind paying for great food, but it wasn't great. There was no need for cold fries because the place was jammed packed. I expected hot food. Also, the shakes were super thick, which is okay but if you serve thick shakes, paper straws are useless! They didn't provide a spoon, so we just saved the shakes for home. I probably won't be back. I'll leave this one for the trendy folks and eat the same quality of food for less.

First time having Shake Shack. Hot Dog was okay, but a few steps below Five Guys. Cookies & Cream shake was good but a step below Chick-fil-A's. Burger was good, but a touch below In-N-Out burger (at twice the price). Bacon Cheese Fries were decent but not as good as In-N-Out animal style fries. Overall it was over hyped for us, but each area was fairly good. Will be back, but not in a hurry.

I was estactic to hear we were finally getting a Shake Shack in Tampa. We visited a location in Milwaukee back in April and we have been talking about their burgers ever since. The burgers were just as I remembered, we'll prepared and juicy! The restaurant was very clean and well maintained and spacious. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which gave us an opportunity to see the new Midtown area. The next we stop in, I plan to try one if the new drink or Milkshakes.

I'm not a burger fan but The shake shack shroom burgers are my absolute favorite. However the burgers and fries served at this location were warm and not hot like they are supposed to be when they are freshly made. Even after we asked them to give us a fresh batch even that was on the cooler side to our surprise.

The food is always delicious. They have the safe favorites but also some things that are different enough to be exciting and new. The text service doesn't always notify you when your food is done so just keep an eye out for your food and it will be fresh and delicious.

3 1/2 stars - I've eaten at a few Shake Shacks over the years, so I know what to expect. Food itself is ok. I mean you can find better, more elevated burgers, but for the mid range price point (around $5.50) and for fast food, it's not bad. The burger is better than you will find from McD's or Burger King, not as good as Five Guys, but you can taste real meat instead of a lot of "filler" synthetic beef flavoring. The frozen vanilla custard is better than the burger. It's rich, extremely creamy, not overly sweet and unexpected. My only complaint is I usually don't order it, cause I don't want it to melt, while I'm eating my burger. I wish Shake Shack would hand me an empty cup and have a self serve station for the frozen custard. I don't feel like waiting in line again just for a cup of frozen custard. I showed up at this location in a group of 4 around noon on a Monday and it had some issues with orders taking too long or in one case missing. The place was almost full, but the long lines out the door from it's opening have lessened. Staff is helpful, albeit frazzled. Hopefully, it will improve with time.

Good burgers but very overpriced. I had the double SmokeShack and was very well made; but was still hungry after eating it! Kids had the Chicken Shack and their portions were small too. The frozen strawberry custard was awesome; crinkle fries were good but again overpriced. In case you are wondering, they do have a regular water fountain with cups near the condiments section.
