Mofongo Steak House is a amazing, the food was great the shrimp mofongo with red sauce was soooo yummmmy. the shrimps where so big the sauce was done right the mofongo was on point! and the portion was absolutely fabulous! I also ordered The Seafood Mofongo with Lobster. That was to die for 🥰 omg all that seafood muscles, scallops, octopus etc that HUGE Lobster it was AMAZING that plate was huge it was absolutely 100% amazing it was out of this world!!!! Its the perfect combination of oooo ahhhhs and ooooo im in heaven!!!! For drinks we had Pina colada non virgen as well as passion fruit juice & water It was a great dinner! A must go & try all! I truly recommend that plate! & place... I also loved my hostess Juliette she was so thoughtful and gracious she gave us 100% her full attention! I definently didn't want to forget her she was super kind. All was so great when you come in as you walk out the staff all are wonderful, I will definently go back soon!!!

I'd give it 3.6 stars. There's plenty of parking for the size of the restaurant. Allow me to differentiate between mofongo which is a Puerto Rican dish made with plantains, a protein, and Mangu(tilde on the U) which is a Dominican dish also made with plantains, and a protein. I've read some reviews that indicate this is a Dominican restaurant, and although the staff is for the most part Dominican, the dishes, and food they serve are Puerto Rican. Even the music they play is while you eat. They start you with hot, delicious, toast you'll eat more than one i assured you. So we ordered passion fruit margarita, regular margarita (the size, taste, and price don't coincide). For apps calamari(a bit greasy appeared refried), fried cheese( cheese, fresh, hot, with a guava sauce delicious), yuca frita ( fried cassava fresh and tasty). Main course ordered a chuleta kan kan(pork chop usually twice as big as the regular chop. The texture was rough, and too thick). We also ordered a mofongo with churrasco ( skirtsteak which juicy, tender, fresh, at the right temperature, the size was very small). The other churrasco that was ordered was cold, and it tasted good. The service by the staff was professional, attentive, and courteous. One more observation the men's restroom needs an upgrade desperately. I probably won't return again.

The food was fantastic. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The food took a lil bit long but that's how you tell they cooked it fresh. The salsa criolla and mayo ketchup was awesome! It was more than in pic... I was hungry! Lol

A great find! We came in close to closing time and got amazing service and delicious food. Staff was very welcoming, attentive and engaging with our group. A had to get a side of maduros, my favorite. Will visit again next time I'm in town.

This was our second time visiting the restaurant and they have revamp the atmosphere as well as upgraded the food! The old place was nice, but this is a definite improvement with more of a upscale feel. The food presentation was absolutely great, everything was made to order so it did take a little more time than usual, however, it was definitely worth it. This is a great date night. The food tasted amazing and the portion size was great. I would definitely recommend coming to this spot.

Went there on a slow night with a huge party of about 12 people and we waited a little longer than normal but it was due to party size and staffing availability.but the server was spot on and the music was lively but what set it apart was the food presentation.. Each dish looked perfectly placed and was very delicious so all in all very happy with my experience.

Awesome steaks and a great place to try Dominican and Caribbean cuisine, staff was super friendly and made excellent suggestions, Alex behind the bar was exceptionally courteous and made sure every part of my meal was good with me, only issue is its a little pricey, but definitely worth treating yourself here!

Let's start with 4 drinks that took over 30 minutes to bring and at the end was not what we ordered. Food presentation was amazing. A lot of food. I went to Tampa for vacation and I wanted to go eat some good food!! This place is so good!!! I love the vibe!! I was looking for good island food! The mofongo con camarones al ajillo was perfect! The rice and beans were very good as well! I recommend the mojitos! I drank the passion fruit on (parcha). My server Mayeli, was awesome (Gracias amor!) she was very attentive and pleasant! I love the deck outside and the constant music playing! I felt like I was back at my island!!! Gracias!! Nos veremos de nuevo!

Amazing food and great service by Samuel! I ordered the shrimp and garlic mofongo and my husband had the rib eye mofongo and it was prepared perfectly. Great portions and so much flavor. If you get a salad, you must try their house salad dressing because it is delicious! Side note: they play really great music if that’s your thing.

I live close by and always passed this place my friends have mentioned it before and I finally decided to pass by with my family. Right as we walked in we were greeted at the door by the friendly host and seated right away. The place is beautiful on the inside and very clean. We had a few questions on the menu since it was our first time and our waitress had no issues guiding us through the menu. Our food came out fast and tasted very fresh the flavor was great. Was in town visiting some friends and we decided to stop by and try this place out. The ambience is great music on point. I ordered a seafood mix with lobster and it was AMAZING. I went with my wife and another couple on Saturday, 26 October. We all had different varieties of mofongo. While none of us are experts on Dominican or Puerto Rican food, what we ate was tasty and fresh. It came out at the right temperature. We had mofongo with octopus (me), shrimp (my wife), mixed seafood (husband of the either couple) and pork (wife of the other couple). It was not only good, it was plentiful, and we brought significant amounts home. The place was clean. In particular, my silverware was shiny, which is important to me. I always check it carefully, and if it's dirty, I might never go back. The cutlery at Mofongo was the cleanest I've seen in a long time: not even water spots. Good job! The one minor negative: we had to wait a bit for our food to be ready. But that means they make it fresh. And it was fresh! Again: good job! We will definitely go back again, because all four of us really enjoyed it.

Came here with some family to enjoy a nice meal. The vibe and atmosphere was great. The food was delicious as well.. most of us had mofongo con carne frita (it was amazing) and my boyfriend had a chicken sandwich which was also pretty good. The only thing we didn’t like too much was no refills on the parcha juice which was almost $4 and they fill the glass up with ice and you get only a few oz of actual juice. My boyfriend also didn’t like the fries.. they looked like they were battered almost? But other than that.. it’s a nice place to grab some food and hang out for a little.

Right on N. Mabry, we went for my son's 22nd birthday along with a roommate of his. The portions were big, none of us finished our plates.....the food was DELICIOUS!!! Our server was prompt and attractive. The mofongo my son got was fantastic, my wife's steak was perfectly cooked, my pork was amazing and, the yucca fries were great. We WILL be going back

This place is a hit or miss. Depending the days you go it is great and quick service. Other days you can't wait an hour for an appetizer. Never enough workers, and the ones there don't work. See people on phones, texting, eating. Doing anything but working. Only one man works there and he is amazing! Works super hard. On a great note, the food is top notch!

We were a party of 3. We all ordered Mofongo with different seafood and sauces. The seafood and sauces were delicious, however, the Mofongo had no garlic nor chicharrón (crunchy pig skin). Making the mofongo not a mofongo and more like Mangú. When the manager came over to find out how was the food, I told her about my disappointment with the mofongo. She went to the cook, and was told that the chicharrón was not ready and in order to not make us wait, he decided to send the food out without it. To me it was a poor excuse, we should have been told and let us make that decision. At that point the chicharrón was ready and the manager brought me three pieces of chicharrón to take, which I feel it was the right thing.

Food was 10/10 and 10/10 service as well. Family owned and operated, and they make you feel like you're a part of their family :) Feels more like I'm eating at a friend's house than at a restaurant. The food tasted really good and service was decent but the restaurant ambiance isn't the best. They could use some updating and TLC. The tables were old and wobbly and the laminate was peeling off the sides. The music was loud... but I liked that part because it was a Saturday night and I was looking for a chill vibe, however others might be turned off by that if they are just looking to enjoy dinner.

Came for the mofongo, due to the restaurants name. It was less than par. The pork in it was very dry - I thought some bites had bone in it. The steak, salad, and house butter garlic was on point though! Seemed like only one guy was working but he was great! Service was a little slow, but the steak was worth the wait

Went for lunch and were pleased to find the variety of specials. We got the roasted pork and chicken stew. Both were amazing and had that home cooked by gramma taste. Even the plain white rice was super flavorful. Prices were very reasonable especially given the generous portions.

The food was good and the attention however I have to share our feeling of finding it in bad taste to be paid for one more plate when the price was different in the presented menu. When calling after leaving the restaurant, the waitress indicates that she forgot to tell us that they were waiting for the new menu. Recommendation as a client (because it is not for the $ it is because I do not see it right) before offering a menu and it will be modified make changes to it even with a marker. It is in bad taste to see a menu with a price and on the payment receipt see it more expensive. (Already changed on the system but not on the menu). The waitress must have said it when she put it into the payment system she brought to the table. La comida estuvo buena y la atención sin embargo tengo que compartir nuestro sentir de encontrar de mal gusto que se pagara por un plato de más cuando el precio era otro en el menú presentado. Al llamar luego de salir del restaurante la mesera nos indica que se le olvido decirnos que estaban en la espera del nuevo menú. Recomendación como cliente (porque no es por el $ es porque no lo veo justo) antes de ofrecer un menú y el mismo va a ser modificado hagan los cambios en el mismo aunque sea con un marcador. Es de mal gusto ver un menú con un precio y en el recibo de pago osea en su sistema lo tengan con otro precio. La mesera debió haberlo dicho al momento de ponerlo en el sistema de pago que trajo a la mesa.

The food is decent, but the price point is too high for this type of place. Our orders, mofongo and camarones al ajillo (garlic shrimp) plus onion steak with rice and beans (bistec encebollado), were flavorful and nicely presented. But, cut back on the unnecessary bag salad side (or at least serve it separately) with the rice dish; and hold the whole sprig of rosemary and green and red pepper garnish on the mofongo (all of which is left uneaten), and the price can be more reasonable. Finally, I suggest having a dinner time and a club time... no one wants to listen to loud music while trying to have a conversation over dinner. Mofongo Steakhouse has potential for one of two outcomes: it can become a place to go for decent food at a reasonable price, where one could stay for music and dancing; or it can go out of business like many other eateries. I hope for the former.
