This place is absolutely wonderful. You walk in, look at the menu and decide what you want to eat, walk up to the counter and order, then find yourself a table. Have a seat and wait. They bring you some fresh bread and dipping oil, which was delicious! We had the calamari and zucchini appetizer, amazing! Came out piping hot fresh. The sauce to dip it in was delicious. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the chicken parmesan, both were truly stellar. Perfect sized portions. Will definitely be coming back, and recommending this place to friends!

FRESH & QUICK!!! First visit and was GREAT overall. Friendly staff, fresh food & quick overall. Family of 3 ordered a pizza to split, chicken parmesan Alfredo + fried mozzarella. Bread is brought to your table after ordering. Carnivore pizza was fresh and tasted good. Loved the thinner crust. Chicken parmesan Alfredo was fantastic. Bread and fried mozzarella was really good. We got desserts to go and they were fantastic and they look awesome. There’s plenty of choices at the desert station. Plenty of drink choices including alcohol drinks. Restaurant was clean! Food is brought to your table and was super with overall. I would recommend this location and suggest you leave a rating to help others. 4.5 rating in my opinion but I can’t select a 4.5.

It was a very nice experience going to Mandola's. After ordering and paying for the food upon arrival, we picked our own seats and waited for the food to be delivered. The staff was friendly. The portions were ample. Overall I am happy to recommend this restaurant to others.

Very pleasantly surprised! Will be returning. Love that you can order your food and sit down. In this day when it’s hard to find good service at restaurants it’s a good ordering process. Food tastes fresh and the kids meal comes with gelato. Cute clean restaurant.

Nice friendly Italian restaurant. A lot of self service areas and have to stand in line to order and pay. Three separate areas. 1. Liquor. 2. Desserts ,coffee and gelato. 3. Food. Almost like going to a market. Food was good and delivered hot to our table. The bread was outstanding served with herb olive oil. Located in the old Sweet Tomatoes building in Carrollwood. Price for 3 people with beverage, salad and dessert was about $60.00 Lots of families and young children. Definitely worth a return trip.

Customer service was great for a weekday lunch. Quality and flavor of the meal was 9/10. I got a side of grilled chicken and a side of grilled veggies. There is a meal that has the same components but it is less expensive to get a la carte. I wish they had more options for lighter meals. VERY HAPPY they have covered, outdoor seating ♥️ HUGE draw for me.

This is a must visit place. We celebrated our 37th anniversary here. And the food was awesome. We will definitely be back. Very clean, friendly staff, a large selection of items. Once inside it's hard to believe that you're in a strip mall. And plenty of parking.

Decided to try out Mandola’s Kitchen and I was not disappointed. The margarita pizza was delicious and the bruschetta was simply to die for. I also ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was magnificent as well. I highly recommend anyone try out this restaurant if you’re looking to try a new place to eat.

This place was amazing! The food was hot, fresh, and very authentic—we couldn’t even pronounce what we ordered but it was SO good! The environment is an upbeat, open kitchen with beautiful colors and festive decor. Staff was so friendly and attentive. HIGHLY recommend.

New fast casual Italian restaurant in carrollwood. You walk in order at the counter and then have a seat with a number at your table and they'll bring the food to you. The place was clean the employees were very friendly and the food was delicious. We will go back to try some additional items on the menu.

A new concept Italian Restaurant that provides a good hot meal faster than expected without a quality impact. You pre-pay, pick a seat, place the number you're given on the table and the food starts to appear. Service was upbeat, cheerful and helpful. The food was basic italian fare, hot and tasty. The calamari while delicious can vary from excellent to just good. Tried the Brasato which was very good. Clean, visually appealing with a small bar, desserts area, a take-out window, outdoor dining and an open kitchen. Great place for a quick lunch. The only potential flaw I can see, what happens on a busy night when everyone has to choose their meal before they are seated?

Stopped in to place a to-go order, surprised by unique set up. Placed order and sat at the bar to wait. Enjoyed a cocktail, lemon-basil mimosa was refreshing. Food was ready and fabulous when I sat down at home to enjoy. Tried the spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmigiana with salad, both very good. Welcome to the neighborhood. We will be back.

Do your taste buds a favor and visit this place. Everything was delicious, fresh and homemade. Including all of the desserts in their bakery. The garlic Bread is the best I've ever had. The Caesar dressing is amazing and the clams in my pasta were so fresh and tender. The staff and management make you feel like family. I will definitely be back!

Visited for first time on Tuesday 11/15 around 2 pm. No signs to tell you to go to counter and order, we just wandered around a bit, finally found someone by the coffee area and asked if we just seat ourselves. After figuring that out, we ordered at the walk up area and sat down. A waitress dumped bread on the table and walked away. 10 minutes later dumped our meals and walked away. We were never greeted, never asked if we need anything else. She never came back to check, absolutely no communications. Food was good, but I will not be going back. There are so many places where they appreciate your business. We felt as though we were bothering everyone. No friendliness. I wish restaurants would understand the value in good customer service. You need to feel welcome and appreciated along with good food.

Note: food pics were from a to-go order and at my home. I forgot to take pictures of my meals when dining in, but got some of the atmosphere. I have now had three experiences at Mandola's, and they have all been fabulous. I am SO excited to have this restaurant close to home. Most new restaurants are a hot mess at first (until they figure out their groove,) but Mandola's has it down! The staff is all extremely friendly and on their A game- it almost feels like a Chick-Fil-A experience. The food has all been delicious, they have an incredible dessert selection, and they go above and beyond in small ways. I don't even have children and loved the fact that there's a mini table for kids, and the bathroom has COMPLIMENTARY diapers and wipes. I've never seen a complimentary baby changing station ever, and diapers are expensive. The self service drink area has everything you need, to-go containers, and cheese and roasted red pepper. Even their to-go utensils are a great quality. They have hilarious shirts for sale, which I couldn't resist purchasing. They have a great bar area. I had the adult lemonade, which was delicious. I am Italian and am SO impressed. Best gelato I think I've ever had, I love that their chicken is really thin, and the pasta has all been cooked perfectly! Tips: - If you like sauce, ask for extra. I personally hate too much sauce, and the sauce portion is PERFECT for my liking. But I'm not necessarily the norm - Be sure to tip generously. Even though you order from the counter, the staff is working their tails off! You don't see them stop, they go around clearing plates as you dine, are constantly restocking, and happily helping with anything. - They offer family packs, which are great to-go! - They have a bomb happy hour- I included a pic of the A-frame

Restaurant has nice ambiance, with Italian soccer team flags, quirky funny messages like “ Legalize Marinara” and an excellent wait staff. The food is not so great for the price they charge. We had ordered pizza, 3 types of pasta, minestrone soup, garlic bread. The garlic bread was more like garlic toast - very hard & burnt, pasta was industrial mass produced taste (I probably make better at home) 🤣🤣. The soup was very different from the minestrone soup I have had in US. Pizza was the only saving grace - thin crust and tasty (but you can that kind of pizza in Blaze Pizza as well) - you expect more from an Italian restaurant.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This was our first time coming here, so we weren't sure what to expect. The ambiance is so nice and inviting. The staff were all so nice, especially John. He was so attentive, making sure we had everything we needed, even brought us extra bread to take home. We chatted with him and he shared the story about the restaurant. He even treated us to dessert, which he did not have to do. My son and I were just having so much fun. The food was amazing and to hear how it's all homemade was great! Even the caramel inside the chocolate cake is homemade. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks for making it a fun dinner out!

My pasta with meat sauce was excellent and the perfect size for lunch. Their bread with dipping sauce was delicious but unfortunately one piece per person. My salad was good with the dressing I believe is restaurant made. They have a marvelous selection of Gelato and pastries but we didn't try any as we were too full. Definitely recommend and we will go back.

First time here. I got the side Mista salad, and the Gnocchi and Meat Sauce (both pictured). Both were fantastic. No picture was taken of gelato, as we took it home. Was fantastic. Will definitely return

Stopped in here for dinner for the first time. Simple yet classy restaurant with a decent amount of seating both inside and outside. You place your order and pay up front and they bring the food out to you (think quick service restaurant like in Disney Springs). We ordered chicken and eggplant parms with a couple of sides and had our food about 7 minutes later (bread was provided too). Everything was delicious. They have an open kitchen and the food is made fresh. They serve alcohol as well and have a small bar area (happy hour from 3-6pm Monday to Friday). Next time we go back I will have to try their gelato and coffee, which I avoided this time because it was late and I didn’t want to be awake all night. Looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu.

Really good pizza... But if you get the one I got, ask for light arugula 😂 unless you want the whole forest (pictures are after I took 1/2 of it off). The staff is extremely nice. Cool family style atmosphere. Bolognese was good my husband said. Love that it wasn't doused in sauce. Not pictured: cheese cake which was great! Gelato was a little too sweet for us.

Wanted to like this spot and I’d say it would be a good to go place for pizza and pastries Order at counter and then take a seat- the ambiance is quite lacking and very quiet inside. Seemed like their card reader was not working for anyone and took awhile to check out. Apps were good but my entree was beyond salty. Gluten free pizza was surprisingly good as was the cannoli we took to go. Do check this place out, but ordering take out is the move.

It seems to be a pretty authentic venue with Italian flare unlike the surrounding area of Italian food, Ir appears that the menu is adequately populated and the smells are pretty great... beyond that the pizza was pretty good and the Gelato was also, tho the prices aren't a value per se, ya get what ya paid for with the experience of it all.i will emphasize this, the house oil and herbs is DELICIOUS!

This was my first visit & I ordered a Margarita pizza & salad. The pizza/sauce was extremely salty, it ruined the taste. Although the restaurant was very nice, bright & colorful, I won’t be going back. Why do restaurants make their foods so salty. Delicious, good tasting food doesn’t need an abundance of salt. 🥲

Mandola's Italian Kitchen is serving up better than adequate Italian dishes with a festive and family friendly atmosphere. The menu includes variety of Italian dishes in pasta, salads, soups, panini (served only until 4pm), chicken, shrimp, veal & short ribs only as daily specials, fresh oven baked pizza, as well as beers, wine, and cocktails. It offers an interesting vibe of counter-service meets sit-down meal. Upon entry on a Saturday evening, I was immediately greeted by a cheerful staff who explained to us that I was to place my order at the counter, then find seating anywhere on the inside or their very large outdoor seating patio. The counter staff were efficient accurate in taking the order. I decided to sit nearby the open kitchen with god view of all the cooking action. Their kitchen staff seemed to each have particular focus - one for prepping the salads, two for fresh baked pizza, three for pasta, soup, and chicken dishes. Warm bread and dipping EVOO with mixings along with plates and utensils were served pretty promptly upon seating. My cocktail came shortly thereafter. The rest of food came within 10 minutes of seating. The bread tasted freshly baked amd a good balance of warmth and softness. The Lemon Basil Mimosa was a good balance of sweet, tart, and basil essence mixed with Prosecco. This drink paired well with my Gnocchi & Meat Sauce (Ricotta, potato gnocchi served with classic Bolognese meat sauce with beef and pork). I asked the meat sauce to be served on the side. The gnocchi was cooked just right - perfectly chewy without tasting doughy. The meat sauce was decent, it could have tasted a lot better if served slightly warmer. The Italian wedding soup (Chicken, pork, soppressata, pancetta, prosciutto, mixed greens) tasted nice without being overpowered by any one ingredient. The Insalata Cotta e Cruda (A raw & grilled salad with salad greens, asparagus, fresh basil, mushrooms, zucchini, red pepper, potatoes, green beans, garbanzo & cannellini beans) with grilled chicken had a nice crunch, flavors of fresh grilled veggies and grilled meat. They also have a bakery serving in-house made cakes and gelato. Although I didn't get to try any of these during my visit, they were presented very attractively. The bakery has a constant flow of customers ordering. Overall Mandola's is a great casual Italian restaurant that you can bring family for comfort Italian food. The atmosphere is festive with attentive amd efficient serving staff. The ample seating inside as well expansive outdoor patio seating seem to comfortably accommodate all the customers.

I have been here 8 times this is my first review. The staff are excellent they work as a team and everyone is so helpful. Ask and you shall receive. They deserve accolades, especially these days, when serving staff can be mediocre. The food is delicious, the marinara sauce is terrific. They will try to accommodate you if something is not on the menu. I ordered shrimp fra diabalo and it was spicy, and as good as NYC or Jersey . Any problem ask for manager they come running. I’ve actually decided it really is fantastic and I’m hard to please. Ask for bread without oil. They will do there best . The oil and pesto herbs is fantastic better then anywhere. Ask for extra herbs . Smile and they smile back . Actually they smile very nicely. Enjoy As I said the managers are fantastic and the chefs are phenomenal.

We went the first week it opened. We walked in, picked up a menu, ordered our food, paid, then we were given a numbered placard for our table. We gathered our drinks and found a table. Within minutes we had fresh baked bread and seasoned olive oil on out table, quickly followed by our appetizer ( fried mozzarella), then our meals. We ordered eggplant, ravioli, and a kid's fettuccine alfredo. Then we had dessert. My husband had gelato with espresso. I had a hazelnut heart shaped cookie. My boy had a lollipop (picky eater). We enjoyed everything.

Mandola's Italian Kitchen finally opened last Tuesday and it brings a different way to what an Italian eatery is in the area, so you have to go in line to order at the register like you would be at a deli or cafe and after you order and you fill your drinks at the station and you finally seat, the experience transforms into a restaurant experience where you get your food serve and they clean your table, definitely different but still they have down to a science despite being the first week, the place is beautiful, immaculate, looks vibrant, definitely Italian and the food was great, definitely Italian, portions were great, flavor was great. The staff was helpful and really nice oh yeah just so you know you'll be better off getting the bottle of water. So about the food, the Mista Salad with grilled chicken was great, fresh vegetables, light vinaigrette and excellent chicken that was grilled to perfection. The Spaghetti with Italian sausages was one of the best I've had in this area so far, the light marinara kept me wanting more and the Italian sausages were on point, the basil taste was used expertly in the process of making the sausages and I was told by a member of the staff that everything is made in house which makes it even better. My daughter loved the kids cheese ravioli and the gelato, so overall it was a good experience, I'm very satisfied with the food at Mandola's Italian Kitchen but the way the setup of the service is, I'm not a fan of standing in line to order and then do the whole restaurant service mainly because if I want to order something else I have to go back in line and pay again to get anything else, that's the only reason why I'm not giving it a 5 stars.

A hidden gem! Reasonably priced and super authentic. We had the chicken Piccada and chicken Alfredo. So good! We also stopped by the dessert counter and grabbed a few goodies for later. Would recommend this to anyone looking for real food at a good price point that serves wine in the Carrollwood area.

We love Mandola’s and go every chance we get. Luckily we live around the corner. Everything we’ve tried has been great. I get the grilled chicken panini if it’s lunch time or any of the chicken entrees if it’s later. All are awesome. The cannolis threw me off a little bit with the orange flavor but I gotta admit it works.

Not in love with this concept. You have to stand in line to order your food (which is overpriced for the portions and completely a la carte), carry your own tray like a cafeteria, fill your own drinks, navigate through the maze of tables with said drinks, wait patiently for lackluster focaccia and your underwhelming portion of food, get back up and trudge through the tables for any refills or to-go containers AND THEN, if you want dessert, you get to stand in another line for overpriced desserts. Lastly, if you're like me, you're going to tip 20% to do all this work yourself. They will bring you bread and your food. Save yourself some money and aggravation, and go to Carrabba's.

After hearing about this place from a friend I really was expecting more however it was below mediocre. The scenery is nice and the restaurant was clean. The customer service was also great. However, everything was bitter and did not live up to the hype. The pizza had way too much oil and garlic. The oil was dripping everywhere. I have made focaccia at home and it taste way better than theirs. The soup I had was also a little off. I'm not sure if I'm willing to give them another try yet.

Great food! I loved how they updated the old sweet potatoes building. The ordering was interesting but I loved picking where I wanted to sit. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of inside and outside seating. Great wine selection and a specific wine var you can sit at. I hope they feel welcomed to the neighborhood and stay indefinitely

AWESOME SERVICE!! We had a party of 20 and there was a party of 16 that came in at the same time. Manager did a great job directing his staff to accommodate the large crowd. We received our food in a timely manor. Thought it might take a bit but service was quick. Kudos to staff job well done!!!

Excellent service and great food. I ordered carryout and was delicious, served exactly when quoted. I got to meet the manager Shawn and he was super professional, welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. The baked Ziti is an excellent dish, generous portion and great price. The chocolate cake was rich, moist and decadent. I will definitely return. The service was top notch.

Oh my goodness it was our first time there and it was delicious! We went there for a birthday and finding seating was easy and not stressful. I have the chicken piccata my mother had the lasagna My grandmother had the cheese ravioli all of which was amazing the birthday boy had a margarita pizza though which was not that great it was super hard barely any cheese or sauce other than that no complaints. The ricotta cheesecake was divine we will definitely be back!

A very well executed fast/casual Italian dining experience. Menu has something for everyone and prices are fair. Food was fresh, hot and delicious - BUT THAT BREAD IS SOMETHING ELSE. Wish I had more. Wish I took it home. Wish I could eat it every day. Overall a very pleasant dining experience that I’d recommend anyone in the area try.

$58 for a lunch for 2 without tip. Bruschetta and bread were good. The pizza had a lot of black pepper which was overpowering. The calamari had way too much salt and was otherwise unseasoned. The pasta was not seasoned so we tried to add some fresh parmesan cheese. Unfortunately all they had was grated cheese in a shaker bottle at the table. The interior of the restaurant was nice and the service was good. As a side note they had a dessert counter at the front. I did not have any but the deserts looked delicious.

A unique idea to have walk up to counter ordering with quick service. Our appetizer of zucchini and calamari was excellent however was very stungy on marinara sauce. Spaghetti bolognese was average and not very tangy. Will try meatball next time.

I think this place is overpriced for what it is. You order at a register, get your own drinks, seat yourself. It's basically fancy fast food but with sit down prices. The beef short rib was really good, the mashed potatoes were very bland. The chicken parm was really good, the fettuccine Alfredo was very bland. If there were lower prices, I'd probably go back.

Ate there & did takeout. Food adequate, Staff seems well trained & pleasant. Three stars not because they raised prices without advertising it, but because they have an unannounced 99 cent charge called a "packaging fee." Stupid mistake by "corporate." When the customer does take out he/she drives there for the food. Gas is expensive. Moreover, they have a tip jar when the customer is actually doing a good deal of the work. No more takeout for me. May go to an in restaurant lunch. Will think it over.

Only have gotten takeout so far. Spaghetti and meatballs with sausage on the side. Very good. Staff is friendly. My to go order done in 10 minutes. Also got the fried mozzarella this time as well. Looks tasty. Haven't tried it yet. Prices not too bad.

5 Stars for food and service. Each time we have been there tried different plates and each was excellent ! One critique for the management is the main courses come out too fast.. barely got through our salads and they bring out the main dish. I think most patrons would like to enjoy the meal and not hurry up eating. Next time will mention this upon ordering, they seem to be cognizant of what food is going to each table so why bring out main dish when customer is still eating salad etc ?

Unique concept for a restaurant! It was counter service (you walk in to order, take a number, get your drinks and find a table). But, then it felt more like a sit-down restaurant. We were immediately served a bread basket with oil for dipping. The kitchen was all open for viewing. Salads brought out first, followed by our meals. There was a large bar if you wanted wine or such with your mealget it yourself. Same for desserts, walk up to the counter when you were ready for gelato, cookies, coffees, or cannolis. We will definitely return.

Super friendly. Decor is great overall. Bar is on the side, coffee and dessert counter near the front. Both are separate from the kitchen which is walk up ordering, but they bring the food to your table.

Oh what an awesome restaurant! I love the way it looks on the inside and how there's different sections: bar, dolce and food. The ultra thin crust was so tasty! The wedding soup was to die for! The best dish we had was the antipasto platter, it was full of all kinds of flavorful delectables and their prosciutto was one of the best I've had. The kitchen is open and very clean. The selections are fantastic with lots of authentic Italian dishes like cannelloni which you don't always see. This is going to go on our list of favorites.

Food and service was great. One issue with the breaded chicken for my Fettuccine Alfredo, was pretty dry but Manager offered a replacement or to refund. I took the refund as I was leaving so it was the better choice. We got spaghetti and meatsauce to go for another family member and he said it was excellent so on my next visit I will try the spaghetti.

We had a softball team dinner here and it was nothing short of outstanding. The ambiance in this place is tremendous and there's plenty of seating. You pay for your meals separately in the front, then they deliver them right to your table in a quick and efficient manner. The manager came over numerous times to double check that everything was good, and boy was it. There was not a single disappointed diner among 20 people in our party. When you can please 20 people, you're really doing well. They have a separate pastries area with their gelato- "almost ice cream". I tried some of that, a multiberry item and it was absolutely delicious. They're pastries looked totally great. I absolutely recommend this on an 11 out of 10 scale one of the nicer, genuinely Italian places that I've been to- without any pretense. Great for families,great for anyone. They were young families all the way up to ancient geezers in their late '60s like our group was. Just a tremendous place with plenty of parking outside in a nice well lit parking lot. Come one come all enjoy the food. The pizza I had was just outstanding. I'll absolutely look for this place when I'm back in Tampa again! Three thumbs up might not even be a good enough rating. That's the highest I can give any place at all. Just great!

Mandola's, went in not expecting too much since Italian food has always been very hit or miss with me. I got the Mandola's Hero Panini, was expecting a completely different flavor but was instead blown away by just how good it actually was! Surprisingly the fries were very crisp and the bread that came with my meal was divine too, and who could forget the fact that they had some seriously good gelatos! I had just barely missed the lunch prices so it was obviously a bit expensive for a lunch but I'm sure the pricing is much more reasonable if I'd not missed out. All in all I would absolutely recommend this place.

Update after third visit: I like the concept, the staff, the ambiance. But the food is just ok. And. Way. Too. Salty. I have a family member and some friends who like this place. I will go with them, but will be careful with my ordering and not go otherwise. I like the concept and set up of this place - order at the counter, but a bit more upscale kitchen than your usual counter service place, excellent service and a lively, comfortable, fun ambiance. I had the eggplant parmigiana. It was more like eggplant with sauce and a little cheese. It is described on the menu as having light tomato sauce. It has too much tomato sauce. The sauce was too salty. Yes, I expect tomato sauce to be salty, but not that salty. I feel we are not at the point where it is ok for customer facing staff to be without masks. I do not expect the cook staff to me masked, but I do expect servers, greeters, and staff working at a register to wear them - as well as managers. Only the greeter (who by the way set the perfect tone and was delightful) was wearing a mask.

Our food and service were okay, but the prices are too high for the portion sizes and experience. You can pay the same amount for spaghetti & meatballs with a Caesar salad that you would at Carabba's (Mandola's is owned by a co-founder) but you have to stand in line to order, get your own drink, search for an open table AND get less food? Not worth it.

I love this place! The food was awesome! The atmosphere was on point. We had fun watching the cooks in the open kitchen while eating. Casual dining with a twist. I had spagettini with sautéed tomatoes and my husband had chicken marsala. Both were delicious! All you can eat bread with olive oil. This place will definitely be a regular dining spot.

We ordered take out from here, and the food was absolutely delicious. The red sauce had so much flavor. The chicken Parmigiano was excellent, Mozarella triangles were fresh and crisp, fettuccine alfredo was creamy and light, pasta was cooked perfectly. We ordered two separate pizzas that were extremely fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. The chicken marsala was interesting; the flavor was spectacular, and it had prosciutto on top. We also ordered cookies from the bakery that melted in your mouth. The cakes we had were a little dry, more so than our personal preference - but still delicious..

At first I didn’t like the concept of waiting in a short line to order instead of doing it at the table, but I found their process worked well and seems safer during Covid! The food is very good and fresh. I have been there several times and find the food consistently good. Pasta is always al dente and sauces are excellent. Pizza is very good as well! The food and portion sizes are great. However the concept is awkward. I understand it is a model of the auto grills in Italy. First you order and pay for your food. Then you must find a table and get your beverage. Waiters bring your food and that is where the disorganization begins. Food may arrive before your salad or soup. In our case I was the only person at a table of 6 who got the salad before my meal. Often waiters bring multiple servings if food you did not order as they really do not know who ordered what. One of the people in our group just had a hip replacement so sat at a table while her meal was ordered. A manager came to the table and informed her she could not sit at the table without her order being placed before hand.

The Good: Desert counter was excellent! The cannolis are stuffed right in front of you. The sorbetto was very creamy. The afagato was a real treat as they are tough to find anyone who makes those anymore. I atmosphere was cool well designed. Seating paying first and seating yourself was interesting I don't know if it's actually a plus for the customer but it wasn't a hang up. The food came quickly as well. Music was upbeat. Very fun ambiance. The Bad: Although the food came out quickly and appeared good for the money it was actually just average. The chicken piccata had very little flavor. The actual chicken was bland and the sauce really overpowered it. The spaghetti and meatballs were similar as they appeared good but again the meatballs were bland and lacked salt. I didn't try the pizza and to be fair maybe I caught the kitchen on an off night or something but I probably won't go back. For the cost of the food I'd prefer a sit down restaurant like Esposito across the street or Ginos or Bellas. Also, I found it hard to get from my table (set very close together) to the desert counter. I tried through the other patrons but did not have room. Then I walked past the kitchen/server area and felt like I was really in the way. After reading all the reviews I'm wondering if I had food on an off night. Alot of them say flavorful and authentic. Wish I had taken pics to be fair. Honestly wasn't that impressed and we eat out alot. Maybe I'll try again.

You grab a menu when you are almost at the counter...then order , you get a number. Sit at any table and the wait staff brings you foccicia and olive oil to dip. Then they bring your meal. Still very hot. Nice group of people. We will go again. Still new and super clean. Soft Drinks are self serve, and saw wines on the counter, so there is alot to choose from. Also bakery goods are on the side of the dining room as you are walking out. We took something home, in a to go box. Also the Gelato looked good. Enjoy.

I didn’t really know what to expect. I usually refrain from Italian restaurants, but something called me to try the lasagna here and it was quite good. It’s a cool atmosphere, you walk in and all the Serie A team flags are hanging and you order then they bring it up to you. If they had a few more TVs this would be my preferred World Cup Headquarters in November Forze Italia (unless they are playing USA)! Great service, kid friendly and sooooooo many desserts?!?!?

Good food, pleasant experience. The food was good, not great - but fairly priced. We had pizza, chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, meatballs, garlic bread. Pizza was respectible. Meatballs were just ok. Chicken parm and pasta were surprisingly good. Garlic bread was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back. But if we're just getting pizza, there a few places nearby that are better.

I would rate this 3 stars for the food and counter service ordering but add a star for dessert. I love salt but the Caesar salad dressing was too salty and croutons were mushy. The bread was very hard on top and very dry and we could not finish it as the dipping oil was also really salty. The entrees were bland. Chicken Parm portion was generous but the breading got mushy and it was unseasoned, although adding a healthy sprinkle of Parmesan cheese helped. The Tortellini Moda Mia filling was very sparse with only a sprinkling of peas but a lot of mushrooms. Sorry to say that the sauce was watery and flavorless. I am not a sweet tooth but the dessert case is great and the server was . We got two gelatos (having tasted several first - all delicious), chocolate fudge cake, honey cheesecake, and Anginetti all to go and will enjoy for several days!

Amazing food and atmosphere! Busy place at dinner time. Pathways in and out for drinks and to the bakery very narrow when it is at full capacity. Came home with leftevers from every meal. Ordering food for dine in was set up like Tijuana Flats. So you order and pay up front then go sit down and they will bring the food out. I was expecting the food to be just ok like Olive Garden. Nope. No frozen breadsticks or mushy pasta. The food was more on par with Carabbas but with much lower prices. Restaurant was immaculately clean and the staff was great! Will be returning soon.

We tried Mandolas in Carrollwood this weekend. We had the chicken parm, marsala and piccata, as well as the carnivore pizza. The chicken were all great, moist with very authentic sauces and toppings. Just enough seasoning to make them Italian. The fettucine alfredo was my favorite pasta and the pizza was totally on point. we will definitely be eating here often.

Not bad whatsoever, however not particularly sock knocking. Ordered two Caesar salads (Finally a fresh one!) a Calamari and Zucchini appetizer (Excellent execution, just acidic marinara) Eggplant Parm for Mom (acidic, again 😕) Chicken parmesan for myself (same 😕) Overall not bad at all, just ironing out minor details and it'll be a easy mode 5 star. Gelatos we're on point and cookies I can't find unless I head to Alessi in south Tampa, although that's a different can of worms. Score since I can't do 4.5 and it wasn't exactly a perfect 5 star, I'll have to go with a 4. Definitely visiting again because overall Mandola's is still new and is refreshing regardless! Edit: I've since been back to Mandola's! Maybe it was new store jitters or something, however the 2nd and 3rd trip was excellent! The personal pizzas were on point, the salads perfection again! The tiramisu gelato, to die for. This is a 5 star in my book!

I make it a point not to eat Italian food in America because I’ve had the real stuff enough that it just doesn’t cut it. But I came here with some Italian family friends and we all agreed that it was delicious!!! Pizza, pasta, all of it. The fried calamari was the best I’ve ever had!

I went there for the first time last week. We made reservations for around 25 people. It's not good for groups. They sat us against a wall so half of us couldn't get up or out. Not comfortable. Couldn't refresh our drinks. Deserts looked great in the case but half of us couldn't get out to order. You order at a counter but they thankfully bring your food. Everyone had a stick with a number but the staff had a hard time matching everyone to their meal. All dishes for the whole restaurant were brought to our table first. It was nuts. Food was OK but not great. I doubt I will return. Too many better choices.

I would recommend since you have delivered in the most important part “good tasty food” that you add to the menu an option to pay $5 or $7 more for a “jumbo” portion. I’d pay more for a bigger portion of a good meal. Lost the star because of tiny portions.
