This place is one of my parents go-to stops. Super friendly staff, big portions, reasonable prices, fast service, diverse menu with lots of options, clean facility, and good food! You literally can’t go wrong. I highly recommend this place. Just be mindful they aren’t open late and close early. If dining-in isn’t your thing feel free to just call and place a order for pickup instead :) this is a perfect family brunch sit-in diner, a place to meet with friends or even a solo date!

Good place to eat for breakfast, my wife had a Cuban breakfast sandwich and I had a cheese steak omelette. We both had hash browns and they were good. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more meat in my cheesesteak omelette and the onions and peppers had been sauteed a little more. Otherwise service was good,the place was clean, and breakfast overall was good.

We were looking for a brunch place near us and for Saturday brunch we decided to have brunch at Mama's Kitchen. It is an amazing diner with lots of seating options. We were seated as soon as we entered the diner. We were greeted by our server Lina with breakfast and lunch menus. After browsing through the menus we decided to start the order with Hot Tea and Coffee, along with French Fries, Maggies Skillet, Vegetarian Omelette and Banana Walnut Pancake. We first got our coffee and tea along with French Fries. The coffee and tea was hot and was freshly brewed. The french fries was also tasty and delicious. It was crispy and freshly made. Then we got our Vegetarian Omelet, along with Maggies Skillet and Banana Walnut Pancake. The omelet was tasty and delicious. We loved the omelet. It was tasty and delicious. The Maggie's skillet was delicious and tasty. Loved the skillet. The banana walnut pancake was delicious and tasty. We loved every bite of it. One of the best Banana Walnut Pancakes we had. Amazing diner with different breakfast and lunch options. We loved our food. The service was also good.

We decided to check out another local spot that has been here forever. It's called Mama's Kitchen on Florida Avenue near Busch Blvd. All I can say is they nailed it! I got two scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and hash browns custom cooked the way I like them, browned on both sides. It also came with four pieces of Texas toast. My wife got what she called one of the best BLTs she's ever had. We definitely will return there soon! Support your local businesses!

Comfort food with a slightly Greek slant. I tried their fish sandwich. It was delicious! Crispy coating around a moist tender filet. It came with their homemade Mama’s Sauce, a pleasant change from tarter. The place is clean, wait staff friendly and service quick. I saw a couple burger choices that look good. I’ll be back to give those a try.

Mamas is nestled between two strip malls, so you might miss it unless you're looking for it. The service is great, and the food is well-portioned and delicious. We started off with a couple of tasty $4 mimosas, and ordered skillets. I had the Greek, and the other members of my party ordered the Momma's Special and the Southern Platter. I highly recommend this place and will be returning on my next trip to Tampa.

Absolutely delicious: I have been here for both breakfast and lunch and I have never been disappointed. They cook REAL grits, not the instant kind ones. Very accommodating to my dairy allergies. This is the best traditional diner in town.

So my darling older sister decided to treat me to a nice breakfast to say thank you for being an awesome younger brother & caregiver to our eldest sister. She has been here a few times & spoke very highly of this little gem. I wanted a breakfast burrito but wanted it Loaded cause your boy is a big fella lol. The waitress went out of her way to figure out the best way for me to get exactly what I wanted & she did not disappoint. So we took the meat lovers plate(Ham,sausage & bacon) with 3 eggs, plus hash browns with onions and said put it in a burrito with American cheese. That bad boy came out looking Good! Plus there was sour cream, salsa, ketchup & hot sauce if I wanted to go all in. They also put a nice fresh slice of watermelon to cleanse the pallet. The waitress kept checking to make sure everything was ok & it was. At one point the Chef / owner(not 100%) sure came out & asked how I liked it. I replied with a big smile "This bad boy is Great"!. They are open til 4pm & have a drive thru for pickup orders. Give this place a try I promise you'll really like the experience & food. I have a few pics of my sister & I's food.

We decided to come visit this place when we last visited Tampa on a whim and found this place in the car GPS until food near me and I absolutely adored this place! Our waitress was so friendly and our food was especially delicious! I definitely recommend the Kickin'Chicken sandwich with jalapeno poppers inside!

We went here for the first time for breakfast, it was so good. I recommend the chocolate chip pancakes, thick sliced ham and eggs. My husband had the steak skillet they both were very good. It was very busy when we went, but no wait line and our server was nice and prompt. The prices were good for the area. We will be going again.

The packaging was horrific. This was the country Benedict with grits and gravy all together. The flavors were there though, and thank god I’m not one of those people who don’t like for my food to touch. It all touched, and I liked it.

Always used to take my mom here for lunch. Today I had the pleasure of returning - ordered a chef salad. Their food is even better than it was in my past visits. Huge salad and so very delicious! Wait staff very pleasant and prices reasonable! Who could ask for anything more! Hope they stay in business forever and never change!

If my own mama treated me half as good as Mama's kitchen, I'd have saved thousands on therapy and years of toxic relationships. Delicious food, hearty portions, super friendly service. I'm from out of town, and was skeptical based on curb appeal, but this place slaps. ...Not "slaps" like my mother. "Slaps" like young people say when something is like, REALLY good.

1st visit was great! Fast service. Hearty servings of delicious breakfast meals made fast & as requested. Sat at the front of the building & noticed the blinds could use some cleaning, but tables & silverware were clean. Overall a great place to eat solo or bring the family. Will visit again!

This visit was just okay. The wait staff was a little rude. The food wasn't seasoned well. They did not offer the garnish nor explanation of why we didn't have the garnish. Normally my visit to Mama's Kitchen is a better experience. It's perplexing because they were not busy. Not sure if I'll give him another try.

This little diner has the most amazing food with a Greek influence thats I've had in my 2 years of being back home to Florida. Perfect gyro meat...no joke. Flawless. Home made house dressing is perfect as well. My wife's fried pork chops were like home made goodness. Just go.

I was getting some modifications to my wife’s car and the guy at the shop recommended this spot if I was hungry. Well he must have sensed it because I most certainly was hungry. Stopped in and was promptly seated. Servers were very friendly and attentive. The good was amazing. Was the best breakfast I’ve had in awhile. Thinking of some other kids for my wife’s car so I can go back 😜. They have a pretty large menu with plenty of variety. I was very pleased you will be too!

We were in town for Hallo-scream and decided to stop here for breakfast before head home. I am so glad we did, their breakfast was great and the mimosa was wonderful! Service was great, wait staff was very attentive. We were a large group of 8, and they sat us down quickly. We will definitely be stopping here again next time we are in town.

I LOVE this place. I bring my 90 year old mother to breakfast and she is always entranced by the vintage photos of Tampa which litter the walls. The coffee here is excellent; it isn't weak or bitter but piping hot! Pancakes HUGE and FLUFFY. Omelets, corned beef hash, and tasty eggs Benny- all delicious!

Went 2 days in a row during my stay in Tampa. If I had found it a day before it might have been 3. The service was great and the the food even better. This is probably the best keep secret for a restaurant in the inner Tampa area. Don't let the outside determine your decision for going inside, because once you go inside and try the outstanding breakfast items, you will gladly say to yourself, I am glad I came inside to have breakfast. The breakfast potions that they give you is really too much for one person, and for the reasonable price is another reason you should visit this Diner. There is a sign on the outside of the bldg stating "Voted Best Diner In Tampa", and I agree that their breakfast lives up to that claim. I would strongly recommend Mamas Kitchen for all to visit.

Food was good and staff was friendly, but servers seemed to be spread too thin. There were 3 doing all front of house operations and it was very busy. One of us was served the wrong food twice, likely due to an expo error and our coffee cups sat empty through the course of the meal. I don't blame the servers, as I watched them busting their butts the entire time. I hope they're getting paid a standard wage for all of their duties because someone less aware of the situation may feel inclined to give a low tip for what they perceive as bad service when it is in actuality a business management problem. A front of house manager to oversee and assist in operations could squelch this problem in the future as it would give servers more freedom to serve rather than bus, host, and handle phones and carryout orders.

My husband and I like to try different places for Sunday breakfast. We've eaten at Mama's before and enjoyed it but on this particular day the service was poor. It may have been just our server as we noticed other parties getting in and out much quicker. It took a while to get coffee, then quite a bit longer to have our food order taken. My food came out a good 10 minutes before my husband's. The food was good but with such poor service we won't be going back anytime soon.

Was there this morning. Waitress was very attentive. Food was so good. Prices were more than fair for the amount of food you get. I had a Ham, Onion and Sausage Omlete with American and Provolone and grits. Biscuits and Gravy and French toast with Bacon. Hard to find good grits. I found them here. Omlete was fluffy and they sure didn't skimp on the portion size of the add ons. French toast was also delicious. Perfect amount of cinnamon. Biscuits and Gravy were well seasoned so I didn't have to add salt and pepper. Will definitely be back soon!

This place is absolutely amazing! Not only is the coffee great, but the food is endlessly feeling. They have wonderful customer service, and this is truly an old-fashioned Diner. They also offer fruit with each meal so any greasy thing that you eat you feel a little better by yourself after having a nice little plate of fruit. I highly recommend this place if you want a nice old-fashioned breakfast diner experience! Plus they also serve other meals, and I hope to return again to try some of those other dishes.

I would always drive by this place and never ate here until today. This restaurant has a very extensive breakfast menu and it's hard to pick what you want off of the menu as it all looks delicious. I went with the fried steak skillet. It was much better and much more filling than it looks when it arrives and the toast is on sourdough bread which makes it that much more delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the staff is all so very nice and polite and always make sure you're fully satisfied with your food. I don't know how I've never eaten here until today, but I will definitely be returning.

My overall experience at this establishment was wonderful! The seating was fast, they were conscious of social distancing, the food was excellent with nice size portions, and the service was great. I would highly recommend, and will definitely be back with my family again in the future.

This is the kind of restaurant that we all look for. Starting in the parking lot there's entry from the street behind the building as well as in front of the building which makes it easy to avoid a lot of the Florida Avenue traffic. Inside it is rustic but clean and reminds one of the good old restaurants that the chairs were a little worn but the place was clean, the attention to service was excellent and The Taste and appearance of the food on the plate five stars. Pricing is excellent too. Very reasonable. The restaurant apparently welcomes anyone who would like to come to eat. In other words the crowd was quite diverse. I noticed that each and every person receive personal attention. if you go there prepare to be pleased. If you have visitors I find it to be an excellent local color restaurant. My husband and I came here craving breakfast. .. it was so delicious we came here again the next day! Massielle was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. Actually, the whole staff works together to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience. The food was quick (even when they're busy) and the portions are GIGANTIC and crazy affordable. Not to mention, the food itself is delicious. After eating there, it's no surprise that they've won awards. If you are thinking of going somewhere to eat, definitely go here. You won't regret it! Side note, their restaurant and bathrooms are also clean which is always a big deal for me when eating out.

The waitress was very nice and courteous and we got our menu and our drinks right away and the food came in about 10 minutes and it was warm or was hot and I we got refills on time so I've been there once before but it was a great experience this time also. Do not order the grits!! They must have boiled them then threw cheddar cheese in it when it hit the bowl. No flavor no butter no season straight out the box. Chicken tenders didn’t seem freshly breaded but the maple sauce was fire the waffles soft so that’s a plus. Eggs were bland. My wife’s bagel sandwich looked and tasted delicious. Hash browns were cooked perfect. Not too bad but have had better.

I just had lunch here and came straight home to write a review. I had a gyro that came with the best greek lemon soup I've ever had. Plenty of meat and yummy sauce on the sandwich. Four of us visited Tampa today and subbled upon this mom and pop restaurant. Between us we had 2 eggs special with ham, sausage, bacon, grits, home fries, hashbrowns, belgium waffles with fried chicken. The serving was huge enough to feed an army. We had an excellent experience! Walked in around 645 PM and had menus brought to us immediately upon sitting at the booth of our choice. The menu is extensive; it took a while for us to decide because everything sounded delicious. Our server was awesome and made great suggestions. Our drinks stayed full and he seemed to genuinely care whether we were enjoying our meal. Started with onion rings which were perfectly fried. The sauce served with them was so good! My boyfriend had the French toast burger and I had the baja burger. Our son had French toast and bacon. All of it was A1. We will definitely be back. Only regret is that we didnt try Mama's Kitchen sooner!

Food is always great, the waitresses are pleasant and know what they're doing. They've spent some time on painting and minor renovations since I first started frequenting this restaurant. Glad to see them give it a little facelift. It's a Greek style diner with a lot of American options. I personally enjoy their Greek Skillet. My friends and I have never left here unsatisfied. There's something for everyone.

This was a great place to eat. They had a really good variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their prices were very reasonable and they actually have a lot of space. They have a few foreign beers that were very good and a few wines. They even have a small drive-thru window which I thought was really amazing for on the go. Our waitress Jessica was great! Although I really liked this place in the "before times," the employees don't wear masks when they aren't in view of the customers. When you enter through the door that faces Florida Ave, you can see into the kitchen. Last time I was there, the servers were masking their necks and chins only and NONE of the kitchen staff in my line of sight had on masks. We left...it was frustrating and very disappointing to turn around and go home. They have huge breakfast burritos and omelets, and really everything I've had there has been pretty good. Service is quick too.

The decor is open and light with a large mural with local Tampa photos. We love Mama's Kitchen! We used to go there about 12 years ago when we lived in the city. We loved it then. My family decided to stop in for the first time before hitting the zoo near by and it was GREAT. The food was amazing with generous portions and the coffee was hot and good! It took us asking after about 10mins of being sat to get a menu. The food was good, but the staff wasn't very attentive. They only checked on us once MAYBE twice the entire time. I requested an order of biscuits and gravy to go and they put the gravy on my biscuits so I had to ask them to make it over. It would have been soggy by the time I made it home.

Not gonna lie, just driving by the place and from the looks of it outside, I would have never even stopped to try them but luckily I have a few friends that eat there and love it and brought me a Philly cheesesteak from there for lunch and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It's HUGE and comes with the BEST fries also.. another sandwich that it'd AMAZING from their is "The kick'n chik'n" ! While I've heard ALL their food is great, I myself, have only tried those 2 sandwiches.. I ordered lunch from them 4 out of 7 days this past week! They call themselves a "Greek" restaurant and they serve Greek food but I wouldn't necessarily consider them JUST a Greek rest., they have everything, and an amazing breakfast I've heard too! Check them out, you WON'T be disappointed!

Typically very good. Some items I have found to be rather bland. I've eaten here quite a few times. I do have to say that over $6.00 for 1 biscuit and a small cup of gravy is absolutely absurd. Their breakfast special (eggs, toast, potatoes and bacon for about $5.00 is not bad though. Some menu items are very over priced.

The diner I frequented as a child then later as an adult and finally, creating a mom and son weekend breakfast tradition (passing on the happy memories of my childhood to my son) had sadly come to an abrupt end. Forced to find a comparable replacement, the search was on! My son and I tried several local places but none shared that "at home" feeling like we had been accustomed to with our former diner. That is until we found Mama's Kitchen. Ironically, it is owned by folks from Greece as was the former diner we used to frequent. The personable service is bar none, stellar. Everyone and I mean everyone at the restaurant is pleasant and courteous. They are attentive with a sincerity that is hard to come by these days. Then, there is the food. While I haven't tried everything on the menu, I have had quite the variety. From the Greek salad to eggs any way you want them to the Pastitsio to liver and onions (my fave), everything and I mean everything meets and exceeds the yummy standards to keep you coming back again and again and again. When you are there, take note of the mural showing Tampa back in the day. I love this! It is always clean and the restrooms are impeccable.They also have a very strong delivery base (UberEats, Grubhub, etc.). Overall, the replacement of our once family tradition diner far exceeds our expectations and has quickly become our new mom and son weekend tradition.

Don't let the under-stated decor fool you, this place has blown me away on both visits with tasty food, over flowing plates, and moderate (almost cheap) pricing. I had the Greek pork chops on my first visit then cam back again for the Greek Gyro salad. Both times equally as good. Highly recommended!

3 words... FRENCH TOAST BURGER. Ok, so you're probably having the same first reaction I did. Ew? Give it a chance. I decided to be adventurous and try it since like the description said, I couldn't make up my mind between breakfast and lunch. I got it with an egg on it so it was egg, bacon and cheese on a burger patty between 2 slices of french toast with a side of maple syrup. I was surprised at how incredible it was. Without the syrup it was like a bacon cheese burger on soft brioche. With syrup it was the best breakfast sandwich around. The French fries are the most perfectly prepared I've ever had. They're cooked at such a high temperature they're bubbly/crispy on the outside yet fluffy tender on the inside. I've had the gyro platter, mushroom swiss burger and build your own omelet too. Always a large portion for the price.
