Look when I say this is the best pizza joint in Tampa it's not hyperbole it's 100% accurate and truthful. I work in the pizza industry and have for almost 20 years. I don't eat the pizzas I make at work I come here. Sorry Papa John I appreciate the employment but I gotta go to Hot Rocks for my pizza fix. That is because the pizza is top notch. The Philly steaks are phenomenal, and the gyros are loaded with meat. Nothing is skimpy and it's all handmade and cooked in a proper oven. After finding this place, I will never eat a pizza from anywhere else. Eddie and Sam's used to be top dog, but not anymore. This is head and shoulders above anywhere else you can get a pizza in Tampa. Stop messing around and try it. I have included some pictures of the food that I have ordered over the last few months. If you look at them without your belly growling there's something wrong with you.

It is okay, not terrible, not the best. Service is good and timely. Place is clean and looks great. I got the works and the deluxe Philly. Basically it was lacking flavor. The pizza ingredients seemed fresh but they didn't stand out. The Philly was the same, both could used seasoning, I could not even taste salt and I didn't really taste the cheese in the Philly either. I'll probably get the meat lovers next time and add some seasoning packets to go. If you don't like very seasoned food this place is 5 star.

Pizzas were VERY good. Not so much for service. We called in an order for two large pizzas at 4:25, 6/12/22, and the young woman was friendly and efficient. Gave me a total ($1.20 less than the final bill), and told us it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. We got to Hot Rocks about 4:45. A young woman helped my husband while I waited in the car. He said she was nice while she was taking his credit card, and said our order would be up soon. Then she started taking orders from new customers. He saw our pizzas come up, but instead of helping Husband, she kept taking new orders. He finally said something, and she begrudgingly gave him the 2 pizzas. Once at our friends’ home, we had to heat them up a bit. They were delicious! We had a large cheese with Italian sausage and a large white spinach. We will be returning to order these or something new. We hope the service merits a tip next time.

A burger craving brought me in to try Hot Rocks. I was greeted by friendly staff and noticed the seating area was spacious and clean, bigger than I had expected. Ordered two Burger Combos and a side order of onion rings. The burgers came out exactly as expected, were not greasy, and were plump and delicious with all the toppings I had requested. The fries and onions rings were super crispy, slightly over for my taste but still good. We also had the chance to try a slice of the pie, which worked! We will absolutely be returning here for our next pizza 🍕 cravings. Overall very pleased with our visit.

If you're ordering from Domino's or Pizza hut or any other chain, please stop. This place is the real deal. It hasn't been open very long and when we drove by today, the parking lot was stacked. So we said it must be good if there's no parking. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza (added olives) and the BBQ Chicken pizza (added bacon and onions) and our family of 3 finished both medium pizzas without realizing because it was so delicious, we just couldn't put it down. Flavors on point. Color and presentation, beautiful. Delivery literally took 20 minutes. Live your life and order from here for a pizza night.

First off the greet service from management was top notch as soon as you walk in. They have a beautiful display of various slices to fit all pizza cravings. I took my family for lunch to try it and everything we had was fresh, hot, tasty and reasonable prices! Pizza was really good very flavorful, wings were tasty and fresh, fries were crispy! Very friendly atmosphere, very clean. Aida took my order and she was very pleasant 🙂 We live 5mins away so this is our new go to spot. Gonna try more selection off menu next visit.

This was my first time ordering and eating pizza from Hot Rocks Pizza. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. There are always cars in the parking lot and the place looks like it is hopping. I was not disappointed. My 10 inch Meat Lovers pizza tasted great and in future visits, I’d like to try different flavors of their pizzas. One can even request that the pizza be baked well done while ordering from the app for take out or delivery. Prices are reasonable but by no means are prices cheap. I will definitely come back here for pizza.

Received a menu in the mail as most do. Noticed the pictures (of course) and they caught my eye. Started reading to find this place has SO MANY options , but NOT in an overwhelming way. I was hungry so figured I would order a few things and give them a try. Choice to have it delivered also. 1st. My delivery was not only pretty prompt for the amount I ordered but also not near as expensive as I anticipated. 2nd, my food was beyond fresh, ALL OF IT. Now , what did I order? Well I kept it simple to start ; 2 different types of pizzas- delicious, fresh, and had a perfect ratio of cheese to sauce , toppings etc. , wings- had actual meat and sauce on them! They do not skimp on the sauce!(i.e the hotrocks sauce is really good as well) garlic knots- garlicky bread heaven, hotrocks fries- Cajun seasoned to perfection , and of course sauces on the side. I liked them all however , sauce is completely personal preference. Overall I thought it was great. I will be recommending this place time and time again. Thank you Hot Rocks Pizza for making the first experience a great one! It’s hard to find quality places now a days - but appears I’ve found mine!

I stopped in for a slice of pizza at lunch, I also got the wings. The spicy Italian pizza was some of the best I have had. Their dough was crispy but not over cooked. I got my wings extra crispy with hot and garlic sauce mixed, I highly recommend it. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back.

I ordered a single slice of the pepperoni pizza last week and it was delicious. It was so good that I decided to order a 14” inch pepperoni pizza today. I ordered a pizza and the boneless wings. The wings were delicious, but the pizza was overcooked for my taste, crunchy, and did not have the same love the single slice did. 😞I would stick to the single slice if I order again.. So much for my cheat meal for the week.

Yo this hot rocks spot that just opened is seriously fire food! I ordered a big order and they did it awesome! Half spinach half meat lovers 18in pizza it cam out beautiful! 12 wings half garlic parm half mild fire! And a ham and cheese club sandwich was great we’ll put together! And LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE PHILLY CHEESE STEAK DELUXE ADD BACON WOOOOWWWW WAS THAT PHILLY SO SERIOUS NO JOKING HAHAHA and everything was great there’s no pizza spots with the style they have in my general area with a nice menu of many choices by me I’m glad these guys opened seriously great for the surrounding community just opened and looking good already keep it up !!! Go hot rocks!!!!

Not sure what happened but 18” cheese for $16 with 3 slices with no bubbles and rest of the slices had a huge bubble that flattened out on them. I picked up exactly 15 minutes from hanging up the phone and lady told me to come 20 to 25 minutes. My pizza could of sat for 10 minutes had I believed her. I gave them 3 stars because of the 3 slices that tasted ok without a bubble.

Wow! This place is fantastic!! I have had pizza at many of best in New York, and Hot Rocks is right up there! Love the sauce, and their crust is perfect. Cant wait to come back for a Cheese Steak! Marvin and team, great job!!

There’s maybe a tablespoon of sauce in the baked ziti? And the pasta is so over cooked that trying to pick it up with a fork the noddles just fall apart? Definitely didn’t have this experience all the other times I’ve recently eaten here. Because I’ve raved about this place for the past week and a half and I’ve eaten there 4 times. This is the first time I ordered this tho. I’m confused.

OMG!!!!! During a time when everyone is acting stingy HOT ROCKS PIZZA is serving a very generous portions of very delicious food. I placed the pictured order of Stromboli and fries and got enough to feed a family of 5. All that and outta sight scrumptious!!

Had a pizza craving and ironically I got a flyer on the mail. By far the best pizza I’ve had in a few years. Got a meat lovers and the pizza was cooked to perfection. Plenty of meat and not too much sauce. Crust was very crisp! Great good guys. Don’t change anything.

Great pizza . Excellent flavor and toppings. The only complaint i have is sometimes the pizza is a 10/10 and sometimes its 8/10. Maybe one worker does it better than the other one. But i wish it was always a 10/10 The one i just got was a 10/10 especially because of the good chicken chucks they added and it was perfectly baked

We always order here and the food is always great, the pizza is always fresh and taste amazing. Philly cheese steak is pretty yummy, and the zeppole are great as well. But besides the food being great, the workers there are absolutely wonderful, always very friendly and happy. You definitely gained customers for a very long time.. thank you

This spot not only has the most delicious spicy Italian pizza (don’t forget the hot rocks sauce) BUT CHURRO bites with Nutella!!! We ate them there and took a bag home! Go see for yourself!

I get the same thing every time. BBQ chicken pizza with garlic knots. Literally never disappoints. Delicious and full of flavor! Staff is friendly as well. Prefer this pizza over any chain pizza restaurant! If you haven’t tried it…you need to!

Delicious. Haven't had anything bad from here. Best pepperoni pizza in Tampa. We use Door Dash from 7 miles away and it's still piping hot. Ordered delivery probably 8-9 times and we never regret it. Get dessert and don't sleep on the pastas!

I have loved this place since day 1, only one time something came up wrong but it was a minor issue. I just saw one of the reviews and felt the urge to post mine, the review stated that her pizza was overcooked with a picture of it. The picture shows a real stone oven pizza at the perfect cooking point, we got so used to eating those soggy microwave pizzas from the big chains that we forgot what a real authentic pizza is like. I am thankful for this place, ever since I moved to Tampa I looked over and over for good pizza and never found one, until now.

The day after the hurricane they are slammed but handling everything professionally. Pizza is yummy and I can taste the quality. Everything I’ve had here is delicious!!!! The calzones are humongous and delicious, so far we’ve had one with sausage onion and peppers - it’s amazing- and also with ham, cheese, ricotta- delicious!! Pizzas are great and service is always top notch! Brownie was reaaally good too. I’m happy I live so close 😁

Pretty good pizza loved the crust. It's just the music they were playing really ruined the vibe for us...it was all the mainstream club music from like 2012....and it was blasting outside like night club level volume. Definitely need to be playing more modern music honestly it was so bad I wouldn't go back just because of that! Take out next time. Lol

I ordered 2 different types of pizza. One cheese, the other a speciality. They claim the pizza to be NY, crust was too thick to be NY, imo. The pizza reminded me of a chain pie, not that impressed. The pizza sauce was a huge let down. I do wanna go back and try their sandwiches. When I do that I will update my rating.

I went back to Hot Rocks on 10/22/22 for pasta dinners for me and my spouse. I had a meat lasagna and my spouse had the chicken parmigiana. Both dinners were on point and why I love Hot Rocks. Hot Rocks valúes their customers and will make sure everyone is satisfied.

Ordered for the first time today. We got 2 different pizzas, one with pepperoni and sausage, and the other was the BBQ chicken (which my husband and 2 of our children loved. Our other child got the hot rocks burger and they were very happy with it. I ordered the baked ziti dinner. I called prior to placing the order (online) to confirm/verify what type of cheese came on the baked ziti and was told that it only included mozzarella. There was very obviously another, cheese possibility ricotta which I do not like at all. The ziti itself was very overcooked to the point that it would not stay on the fork. I was also supposed to receive 2 garlic knots along with the dinner according to the menu and those were not in the order. Overall not too bad for our first order, I will just have to remember to order something different for myself next time.

Customer service is mediocre at best. I was placed on hold for what seemed like forever. Called ahead of arrival thinking I could place order and have it ready by the time I got there. Arrived at location approximately 10 minutes later and was still in hold. 😳 🤷‍♂️. Walked in, had not hung up yet, saw one employee on the phone, two others talking by the oven. I hung up/placed my order. Did not complain about being left on hold because I figured it wouldn't do any good and I just wanted to get my order taken without any additional drama. Young lady took my order. I Was the only one inside for the most part with people popping in/out to pick up orders. I was told 15- 20 minutes but it seemed to have taken a bit longer than that to have my order ready. It was only one medium pepperoni pizza. Nothing else. Opinions will differ. Personally, I did not like the taste too much. It was ok . Wife and I were starving coming from work. It was roughly around 6:30 pm. Guess we're used to Pizza Hut/Dominoes flavor. Over all ok if nothing else available. Cost for medium pizza is a bit higher than Pizza Hut/Dominoes. I can buy a medium pepperoni pizza for under $15 out the door. Helps when you can get military discount. 10% is better than none at all. Times are tough. Not every resteraunt offers this. Independently owned.

im from jersey and i love my pizzas. finding a good spot down here in tampa was so hard. there were so many spots claiming “ny style” but wasn’t even close to the real deal….Until i found Hot Rocks! When i tell you the pizza is just like back home, im not lying… I would definitely recommend this spot for some good pizza! 10/10

Phenomenal pizza. I was in this area for work and ordered pizza and wings for the office, it was a hit. Pizza tasted great, we tried normal cheese and pepperoni, a supreme version, and buffalo chicken, all were great. The wings with the hot rocks sauce were good, plenty of blue cheese. I went and picked it up and the storefront is nice. Plenty of seating inside and they must have had 10 options to buy slices right there. Great spot to grab a couple slices if you don't have much time.

This place is legit awesome! Ordered our first pizza and mozzarella sticks and both were outstanding. Dough and sauce are done right and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. Also, I love that you can go in and grab a slice or two for lunch or dinner. Well done! We’ll definitely be coming back for more. This is now our #1 neighborhood pizza joint.

We’ve been dying to try this pizza place for awhile. Everything turned out great but the most memorable part would have to be the staff. They made sure I didn’t leave without making sure everything was right and to my expectations for my to-go order. We’ll definitely be ordering from here again or make it a dine-in visit next time!

I waited to do my review so i could try them a few times before doing so. I've ordered from here at least 5 times since they've opened. It's phenomenal EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! The staff is amazing. No matter who is at the counter when I come in, they are all so friendly and welcoming. This is probably my favorite pizza in Tampa, and I love me some pizza 🍕 😋 Try the pizza here, and you won't regret it!

This is my second time (this week) ordering from Hot Rocks and both times have been delicious. The crust is flavored well, nice and puffy, while the pizza itself is pretty thin, I dare to say New York style. I love that there is enough sauce on the pizza and it doesnt soak through the bottom! Cant wait to try everything they have to offer.

I’d been in Tampa for a few days and the previous night we’d enjoyed a really expensive dinner (my 9 oz. glass of wine alone was $30). Tonight we wanted Italian, maybe pizza, and chose Hot Rocks Pizza. Honestly, I didn’t expect much, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. First, the young lady who cleaned our table while we waited was a little powerhouse. She was all over it like stink on a monkey...I could use five of her. The woman who seemed in charge was very accommodating and worked to assure we had everything we needed. My husband ordered the pizza and, judging by the fact he only left one piece, I’d say he enjoyed it. He’s never been a fan of the pizza crust so I got to enjoy it for him. I had the cheese ravioli with a side of meatballs. For this Italian chick, I enjoyed the sauce…not too sweet, not too salty, and definitely a thick tomato saucy. Very flavorful. The meatballs were made with quality meat…no chewy piece of gristle at all. If you’re looking for a good pizza joint, I don’t think Hot Rocks Pizza will disappoint. The employees are sweet, even the kid who empties the trash at the end of the night. If you’re looking for ambiance, you shouldn’t even be contemplating pizza.

First time at Hot Rocks. The order ran about 15min late and the stromboli was not exactly what I ordered. However, that was the best Stromboli I've had in years! I guess the cook thought they should make my stromboli more healthy by adding veggies in it that I never ordered? But who orders Strombolies for the veggies? No hard feelings, I'll definitely be back.

Ate lunch today at this new Pizza and Subs place This place is Clean. The nicest pizza joint i have ever been in. They have grinders and subs and stuff as well. I had a slice of pizza and a Ham and Cheese Grinder. The bread was super fresh and delicious. Absolutely awesome food and service. Kudos!!!

We visited Hot Rocks Pizza today for lunch to give the new place a shot. They have a huge menu with great prices! I got the pizza and my wife got a club sandwich! The pizza was incredible with the right amount of “crunch” to the crust. The club sandwich was big with plenty of meat! This place is going to do great!! Check it out!

I use this pizza shop for my businesses' birthday parties, (America's Escape Game Tampa) and let me tell you! They are AMAZING! I'm obsessed with their pizza! It looks and tastes so Good! and the Wings were bomb too! What's surprisingly better than their food? THEIR PRICES! The staff is super generous and welcoming. Everyone I have interacted with was super nice and easy to talk to. Keep killing it! Can't wait to see where y'all go!

After a long week all a man can ask for is a good beer and great customer service. I ended trying 2 new places today. 1. being there neighbor ( Pete's place ) great place by the way 😁 then this place. Me and my friend went in and ordered food from one of the best cashiers I have in a long time. He was funny , cool, and straight up about that customer service. Now the highlight was when we ordered we were going to come get it after a game of pool and beer. Next thing you know the he is bringing it in. This guy is the bomb.com . You did great man. Pizza is good. After several weeks of pizza, we ordered antipasto and lasagna. Forgetable food. They have not figured out how to estimate time to pick up food. I know its difficult getting employees right now, but maybe someone other than high school students. Will be a while before I go back

We picked up to take out since they are having a soft opening and no beer yet. Denny and Allison, the owners, are very friendly and know how to treat customers. While waiting they treated us to their awesome garlic knots. We ordered pizza and wings and they were top notch. Can't wait for their grand opening with a full menu. HOT ROCKS PIZZA SAVED THE DAY! Today, just a few minutes before lunchtime, my company decided to order pizza for all of us. They didn't want pizza from any of the "big chains" so I recommended Hot Rocks Pizza and we gave them a call. With only an hour's notice, they provided us with 12 hot, delicious pizzas! Everyone absolutely enjoyed the pizza and said they would get pizza from Hot Rocks again. Of course, I mentioned that Hot Rocks has a full menu and directed them to the website. Hot Rocks is the pride of Tampa on Dale Mabry. Opening night brought out the locals which was filled with enthusiastic staff training to be the best service money can buy. Earlier tonight, I somewhat drunkenly stumbled through the door of this establishment with no idea what to expect, following only the celestial smells that had floated over to the bar next door. I was surprised at the sheer size of the menu, and thought there was no way that they could have quality to match their quantity. Trevon was the friendliest person I've ever met at a restaurant, and sold me on some wings and pizza. I strolled back to the bar to play a game of pool while the food was made, and not 12 minutes later, he walks through the door of the bar, dropping everything off! Someone should promote this guy, and everyone in Tampa should eat here. Seriously, do it. Get the garlic Parm 😉

EDIT : Management got in touch with me and actually listened to feedback. Issue was fixed, very good experience. The pizza is fantastic. Sauce, ingredients, the crust... Would be 5 stars, but I payed for 2X Extra cheese and it did NOT show.

Food was amazing. The pizza has a great mix of sauce and cheese. You can taste it in every bite except when you get closer towards the crust. The sauce seems to have not been spread about on this one. Very local feeling place that is very busy. Came on a Sunday night during an AFC playoff football game. I rate 5 stars because i understand being busy but the amount of time it took to get one slice of pizza and 6 piece wings took entirely too long. That is why service gets a 4. I stood inside, waiting just for the cashier to realize my food was sitting right there for maybe 3 to 8 minutes. It was still hot when i received it, but not sure how long it was there.
