Reviews of Four Green Fields
Leslie Green
Just average. My meal didn't come the way it was explained on the menu but it was OK. Dad had Sheppard pie and it was cold. Mostly made of potatoes. The fried fish and green beans were the best parts to our meals. The Reuben egg rolls were good too.
Rob Bowlin
What a great place to eat. We have eaten in authentic pubs in Ireland and this place was just like being there!! Service was phenomenal. Our server, Shannon, sat down and talked with us for over 5 minutes about living in Ireland. What a great conversation!! The food was out quick, hot and on point. If you are looking for great food, service and atmosphere, this is the place for you!!
EJB 3
Irish pub located right on Curtis Hixon Park. The atmosphere here is probably the closest you will get to Ireland in Tampa. We went in for drinks only on a Friday night, so I can’t speak for the food. I can say that they do know how to pour a Guinness here and the live music was on point. Will definitely go back again when looking for that pub feel.
Jeffrey Vest
Really good. Was quiet when we came in. Bartender served us. Really great Irish guy. We had fish and chips and the Reuben. The fish and chips were outstanding. The Reuben was really good. Had a Guinness that was great. Great little find.
Andrés Villeta Astacio
What a delicious Shepard's Pie.
Crispy cheese top, followed by a creamy mash potatoes layer and ending with a well seasoned ground beef base.
I also ordered an house IPA, which was quite good.
Highly recommend this place 👌
John Stoltenberg
Classic Irish bar serving up Shepards Pie, Guinness beef stew, chicken wings, and more. Two locations: Ashley St and Channelside.
Enjoy a draft beer and then sample some Irish whiskey
Ken Williams
Awesome little pub. Ice cold draft, and very good pub food. Next time I am in Tampa I will definitely be back.
Lizz Alkula
I didn't not like it. Just it took a long time for one of the two people to notice/interact with me.
If I hadn't had been looking for it, super hot and tired already I wouldn't have stayed. (It was mildly busy for only two people but a greeting at least would have made me feel better)
But i will say I was glad I did stay. They had Magners cider which is/can be really hard to find and the sandwich I had was fantastic.
The male server was really nice too after I was acknowledged.
Don’t stop Dancing
Decent spot to drink , nothing that really stood out when we went with our friends. We definitely drunk a bit too much and the music carried the night, but not many activities to do inside. The food was decent, just didn’t really stand out.
Jennifer Ruebeling
They did a great job on the remodel. It's not a place that I will hang out at, but I think it's cool for a young crowd in that area that wants entertainment and Irish Fun. It's just not really my thing these days, but I would recommend it.
Jeremy Batchelor
Great pub! They had live music and the singer was great. One of the best Reuben sandwich's I've had and a great selection of Irish beers.
Changing Winds Woman
Very friendly spot. Emily is the perfect hostess, waitress, and bartender. She's very personable and makes you feel welcome. The food was to LIVE for! I had the salmon with mashed potatoes, cabbage/carrots, Irish soda bread and a glass of Pinot Noir. The Giness gravy is marvelous! My plate was cleaned and all I could do was moan while eating. Thank you Emily's aunt. Cozy place. Looking forward to my next visit.
Evelyn Flint
Those Reuben egg rolls were amazing! The beers were all great too. The bartender was kind and helpful, and I met a lady from the kitchen out on the patio who was super nice and friendly too. The smoking patio had a great view of the sunset from the little railing, and you can come in and out of that awesome park and Riverwalk to here most of the night. Loved it.
Rob Dawson
Great atmosphere. Decent service. Food guy or miss. Good Ruben, but dreadful shepherds pie. More like meatloaf with a mound of mashed potatoes on top. I'd go again and try something else if in the area
Natasha Jones
Great as always . Try their seafood Mac n cheese , what a treat loaded with lobster. Chicken tenders are killers too. Whiskeys and beer as you want it.
Tom Yenk
First time in here and we all had a good time getting into the irish groove of the live entertainment. We just had appetizers and Guinness which were on point with good quality and service was attentive.
Deanna Mapes
Great service from Jimmie, the bartender. Friendly atmosphere, good food and fine spirits! Excellent place to hang out after work, with friends or when company comes to town. Right on Riverwalk and can travel with open container to next stop on the walk.
Thomas Newhall
Traditional Irish Bar. There are no TVs not a big deal but something to consider. There are 4 individual unisex bathrooms for patrons this is nice. The food was good we got basic chicken fingers and Guinness Fries this worked for the three of us.
T-REX
That was a nice surprise. I didnt know Four Green Fields opened a restaurant in Curtis Hixon...apparently it's been open 2 years... and I work downtown!! Need to advertise.
Anywho, the food was excellent and the service was exceptional. I got the fish and chips ($15) that came with 2 large pieces of Cod and some really good fries. My only complaint is 15 bucks is a little high for lunch. I would gladly pay 9-10 for a lunch portion, the 2 giant pieces of Cod were almost too much to eat. ( poor me, I had to eat 2 delicious pieces of fish, boo hoo)The star of the Lunch was the Guinness Gravy. I got a side for my fries, and everyone agreed it was some damn good gravy. They have a happy hour from 4 to 6 and looks like a fun place to have a pint. I will try the Shepherds pie next time. If you want some great Irish Food downtown, this is the place to go.
Elaine Cowen
It was a very cute place from the outside nothing fancy inside but the food was very good. I had fish and chips and it was very very good. The other two people I were with had their blue burger I believe it was called and they also loved it. The gentleman who served us was extremely friendly and very helpful. I believe he was doing the bar and the serving and we never felt like we were forgotten about. Would definitely go back when I'm in the area again.
Ray Quiles
A divey Pub with Irish beers on tap and a few solid food option that include fish and chips or the Reuben sandwich. They have live music on occasion and plenty of SD spaced tables inside or outside.
Rich Watkins
Awesome spot to hit up if you want a true Irish drink downtown right next to Curtis Hixon Park.
Jill Armistead Stack
I went to a friend's private birthday party. The servers setup a great buffet with fried green beans, chicken tenders, meatballs, salad and some of the best crab dip, with capers, that I've had in quite some time.
The service was great. Very friendly staff. There was a musician who played guitar and sang Irish songs. I took an Uber there and found that to be ideal as it faces Curtis Hixon Park. The driver stopped on Ashley Dr and I just walked the short distance to the free standing building. There is a giant Shamrock on the building so it's easy to spot.
Fun venue. Very lively atmosphere.
razhe01
Four green fields has been the best Irish pub in Tampa for decades. It was sad to see the original location close but this new location is great, with a lot more room and they still managed to be one of the only places downtown that has it's own parking lot with free parking.
Laurie Bear (Lauriebear)
It was an okay place, the atmosphere was Great, but the service was ehhhh at best. We sat at a table top and after the first initial greeting from the waitress we had to continue waving her o ER or going up to the bar. Not that it was a very big deal but the table next to us their waiter was spot on, always going over, bring new drinks, water, etc.
The drinks were fun, Andy with Guinness was so awesome!!! Really enjoyed his enthusiasm.
They had live entertainment, he was good, engaging.
Now the part about the food, its a bar so I guess I should have not expected much, but to be fair I've had some really good bar food, this was awful. I had the shepherd's pie. I honestly think they took a can of beanless Hormel Chili and dumped it in a bowl, added some precooked mashed potatoes and shredded cheese than microwaved it on high for way too long.
I really was looking forward to going here and well I probably won't be back, but if you just wanted a beer or a drink then I think you would enjoy it.
Kirk Sexton
Irish pub inspired eat and drink place, right at the edge of Curtis Hixon Park. Serves traditional Irish food, with properly poured Guinness beer. Inside and outside dining areas, with the outside seating area having a great view of the park, the Riverwalk, and University of Tampa across the river. Food was excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient, despite the large crowd there during the visit. Looking forward to a return visit.
Jackie Whiting
Had great service and drinks from the bar. We had to go orders that were prompt and delish!!
Paul Jokiel
One of the most authentic Irish pubs I've been to in the US. Actually, maybe THE most authentic. At least two people working there had strong Irish accents, and there was a decent amount of political posters about having an independent Ireland. After my meal, which was great, I was craving something sweet. I was sitting at the bar, and asked the bartender if they had deserts. She said "I'm sorry love, no deserts, but we've got whiskey. Would you like a whiskey?"
Jessica Con
Great place for food and drinks. We enjoyed a nice walk from the water street parking garage down Riverwalk to Curtis Hixon Park. Excellent Rueben and Corn Beef sandwiches. Had four different Irish craft beers to choose from. Full liquor bar. Cold a/c! And Riverwalk cups available to take your drink to go.
Madison B
They have Kilkeny beer on tap and great live music on Friday night!
Woody Steinhoff
What's not to like? Irish Pub, great food, great service, great beer and whiskey. Tim the bartender is very friendly and knowledgeable. He is the reason 4GF earned the fifth star.
Robert Jacobi (Rob)
Great new(same as original) bar! Right in downtown.
Bob Hammond
Fish and Chips are great. Irish Red is great. Sound track keeps you going.
JB
Great food and atmosphere. I had the Sheppard's pie and was amazing.
Nick Isabelle
We were hot and tired after walking all through Tampa and the river walk with two small children. We also don't drink. As vegetarians we got the Black Bean Chipotle Burger, Caesar Salad, and 5 Cheese Grilled Cheese. Everything deserved 5 stars including service and speed.
Christopher Jones
Great for a quick pint! Glad they took the Gerry Adams propaganda down.
George Vanek
Had an awesome time here. Our bartender Tracy was terrific!
Kristin Bielski
Service, atmosphere and food were all top notch!
George Wilkens
Bottled Bud Light ($5.75) wasn't very cold. Switched to Miller Light 16-oz. draft ($6.50), which was colder, but not much. No frosted glasses. Didn't order food, but friend didn't finish fish & chips, said wasn't very good. No table service when I was there on Tuesday evening.
Tara Con
Chad was the best bartender and server! Gave us great drink recommendations and was just all around a cool person. Would definitely go back and can’t wait for the brewery to open on Swann to visit him there!
Nick Montelauro
Had such a great time here. Staff was friendly and engaging, food was amazing, plenty of selections for drinks. Wish I could take this place home with me!
Angie B
Drinks and appetizer were great!!! Must try the Reuben app!!!
DigiKill
Open at 11am sharp, ready to pour a pint. Staff is friendly.
B B
Pretty authentic Irish pub. Dog friendly, staff is friendly, were awesome with our (cdc-compliant) group; indoor & outdoor seating. Four greens is a solid choice. Would give 5 stars but I haven’t tried the food - will update but it looks delicious.
Dustin Kirkland
The real deal. Transport yourself straight to a pub on the emerald isle. Definitely not the sports bar that is Hattricks or Paddy Wagon -- there are zero TVs in the whole space. This place is just classic. Perfect Guinness pours every time.
robert bailey
Drinks and staff are great. Outdoor seating is pleasant and dogs are welcome. Music plays thru broken speakers that crackles and pops. Fix the speakers, or turn it off.
Chris B
Excellent, friendly place.
When downtown, we always make a point to stop in for a beer or two (...or more...) and a bite to eat.
The Guinness Fries are awesome and we get them every time. Also have had their very good corned beef sandwich a couple of times.
Stopped in yesterday and tried the Guinness Meatballs (and fries, of course) and they were terrific. The blue cheese crumbles on top gave them even more great flavor.
Service is always great, even when crowded. A real welcoming and friendly pub.
Gotta take that last Harp in a Riverwalk cup to continue the journey.... Already looking forward to next time....
Evelyn Marie Marin
I honestly thought they had shut down due to an article I just read! I had to come check for myself & am so happy that this location is still open, the one that shut down was just for refurbishment & they will actually be opening up again at a new bigger location, but very happy this one is still open. Amazing food, drinks, live entertainment & the staff is phenomenal & knowledgeable. Slãinte
Sarah
Staff was friendly. Food was decent.
Andrew Mahoney
Great pub at an incredible location. Bartenders are super friendly, there’s LOTS of history. Reuben rolls and sliders are to die for!
Garrett Bremer
Nice, authentic Irish pub. They often have live music, their food has been good each time I've been there, and the place has a homey atmosphere.
Vanessa Z
Our server was excellent. He was friendly, took our order quickly, and brought our food out with a quick turn around hot and fresh. Everything from our food to our bar drinks tasted amazing. The location was perfect for a walk after before heading home. We look forward to returning!
B B
Didn't have a chance to eat there yet, but the food i saw did look good. This location looks small from the outside but can hold a good amount of people inside and a few tables outside as well. Will be nice when all the construction ends to enjoy a few pints there. Bartender Dave was very cool and welcoming.
Samuel Gerry
I got the shepherds pie, the meat was great but there was so little of it. The mashed potatoes were really good as well, but the ratio of meat: potato is not anywhere close to what I typically expect. I don't think it was just a one off issue, because I actually got whole 2 lunch portions because the kitchen didn't give me the dinner sized portion I ordered. The service is usually good, they have all your typical Irish beer on draft, it's pretty dark inside, sometimes the music is way too loud, but overall it's a nice change of pace from the normal places I hit up for lunch or happy hour.
Victoria H
I went here recently with a small group of friends for my birthday. I chose this location because I had been here a few times before and the service and food had always been exceptional. This particular night started no differently. However, it quickly became apparent that the bartender was out drinking the patrons. One of my friends ordered a turkey Reuben. She specifically said that she did not want the Rachel she wanted a Reuben made with turkey. She got a Rachel. We had a party of 6 with 3 checks. Every check was incorrect. Then the bartender slurring and swaying yelled from behind the bar over to our table announcing to every single person in the establishment that we had stiffed him on the checks... but... he hadn't even finished cashing us out. He still had our credit cards. Of course he didn't bother to announce to the rest of the bar we did not stiff him though he most certainly didn't end up getting the tip he would have. I'll never recommend this location for a group event again. I'd probably go back but will definitely leave before the bartender is so drunk he can't do his job.
V M
Great location, great bartenders and service but food disappointing. This Irish Pub has 2 locations in Tampa. The other one is an actual thatched cottage on the other side of the river. It is a true Irish Pub in atmosphere and decor, no TVs as pubs were a social gathering place or Public House, I love that! You can take your drinks outside along the Riverwalk served in plastic cups. But the food needs improvement. The shepherds pie was bland, no seasoning and served with melted cheese. The Guinness Stew, good flavor but too salty, had no vegetables in it and Irish Soda bread was dry. I would suggest that the owner taste the food for consistancy. I would have otherwise given this place at least 4 stars. Hopefully the owner will take note.
Sean Richards
Really cool place to visit. My girlfriend and had a late dinner here one night. The food and beer was a to be expected for an Irish pub/restaurant. The food wasn't that impressive, the cocktail I had was really tasty.
The real thatch roof is pretty cool to see, but the atmosphere was a little cold and uninviting in a way.
Janelle Ray
Great Whiskey & the best damn Irish Soda Bread I've ever had!
C.W. Simmons
Good corned beef sandwich and nice selection of Irish draft beers. A great place to step off the Riverwalk for a cool down from the Tampa heat.
Keith Shamblin
We mourn the loss of the original, thatch roof bar, but happy the bartenders & pints are still available-- lacks the old atmosphere. Still friendly staff, great beers & music.
Khalista
Great bar. Great location. The staff are very friendly and the music is good. I haven't had much of the food yet but what I have had has been good. This place is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Verónica S. Piña D.
Just two employees taking care of the place, the order was incomplete and we asked for an extra plate that didn't come. The bill had a mistake and was 30 dollar more than expected by error. It is a pity since the food was good in general.
Barrett Henry
I had a late dinner here. The place is nice and the food is actually good and priced fair.
I had a burger and plenty of beer to wash it down with. The area offers so much to do and this is the only restaurant in the Curtis hixon Park area that I know of.
Definitely consider this place when you're looking for a restaurant in the downtown Tampa area.
Ruth St Pete
Great service. Great food. Pleasant atmosphere. Music was authentic. Restrooms were clean. Food was hot and served in a timely manner. Bartender was helpful and courteous.. even explaining about the Riverwalk and its policies. I would definitely go again and recommend to others.
Fiona Comerford
Very enjoyable experience. The staff were wonderful. Lovely peaceful atmosphere with Irish music playing.
Gary R
What is there not to like about a Four Green Fields? I only had time to drop in for one beer and had to go but it was worth the stop. Still has the fresh paint smell and was very clean. Bartender was friendly and they had a beer selection worthy of an Irish bar. Plenty of whiskeys too. DIdn't try the food but people near me at the bar had ordered some food and is smelled fantastic! Will come back for a more in depth visit soon!
Smithy.g Cafe
Best pub in Tampa! Looking for a unique location that is worth the trip? This is it!
Sandra Calsetta
Nice atmosphere to celebrate Gasparilla and St. Patrick's.
Food is really good.
If you don't go when is expected to be crowded....service is good. The location close to the River Walk is a plus. no
carlo benedetti
Love the River walk in Tampa. Enjoyed fish and chips and some Jameson on a beautiful day waking the river. Stop by and enjoy! 😎 …
Kelly Saucier
Bartender John is a sprightly fellow. It was a chilly night and he made me a delicious Irish coffee. The Shepard's pie is off the charts as well. Solid drink selection if you like Irish whiskey/beer.
Jessica Papineau
Great food, selfseating, fast service, great drinks, awesome customer service from the gentleman that served us. Over all super happy we found this place as we where walking!
re cry
New four green fields on 12th. Great location. No TVs. A real Irish pub.
Mickey Reigger
Perfect location; nice building. The great management will make this pub better and better as time goes on.
Jordan Medlen
If your going for drinks and live music, this is a great place. Reminds me of some of the pubs I hit in Ireland. The food is not that great. We've tried several things over several visits and just have never been pleased with anything we've gotten to eat.
Madalitso Sendezera
This is a nice and quiet place to take the family too, you can take long walks along the river or catch a water taxi that stops at multiple points filled with restaurants. For a fee of $20 at night and $15 after 6pm you get to ride all day, hope on and off anytime and explore.
Stacey Dowse
Absolutely love their Guiness irish beef stew!! The bartender on Sundays nights is awesome, super friendly! Between the atmosphere..good food and good service i cant wait to go back
Sira Schroff
It was so crowded for St Patrick’s day they we couldn’t go in… Another place in my list to check out again..
Rock Clayton
Great authentic Irish food! Whole bar full of Jamerson if you're interested and whiskey history, this seems like a good jumping-off point. Nice to stop in while you're at Curtis Hixon Park for a fancy beer and some good Gastropub food. Had a great time and it wasn't that busy when we were in there but it quickly filled up as it got later! Go early if you want to have a relaxed time at a delicious Irish bar.
Burns_ Bright
Amazing soup and delicious Chicken. Don't miss a meal at this fun place with outstanding people making it all a delightful evening.
Chris Fellure
Great spot for a pint!
eric Warne
Nice pub. I had drinks only. Food looked good.
Chris Gonzales
Friendly service and great beer. Didn't eat but the food we saw going by looked and smelled fantastic. Next to the Riverwalk and park. Will visit again and try that food!
Diane Walker-Hoondert
A very hot day to do the Tampa Riverwalk...phew! BUT, we were refreshed at Four Green Fields by liquids either on tap or bottled: a wonderful variety of cold beer, or cellar-temp Irish beers, was served to us thirsty travellers. A tasty menu of both Irish and N. American fare sated our hungry tums for the rest of our trek.
Michael Haines
Enjoyed eating here during our trip to Tampa. Food was great. The only blemish was that I received the wrong order, no big deal, they made it right, but our waitress blamed the manager, and I found that to be somewhat unprofessional.
Kim-Marie Santiago
Not your typical Irish pub. It tries and falls short. Walls a tad too white and lighting a tad too bright. Yes I'm nitpicking a bit. Tullarmore Dew was the drink of choice, last call around 11:30 p.m. seemed early for a Saturday night.
Julie G
Very cool little Irish Bar on the riverwalk. Great mules, nice and cold..smooth. Celtic eggs were best we've had. Good ruben sandwich too.
Lakeisha Matthews
The service was great but I was underwhelmed by my food. The atmosphere was pretty quiet, it was a Tuesday night during dinner. Nice place, choose your food wisely.
Jeremy Dimmick
Absolutely delicious. Great beer and delicious, unique food. Right on the river walk too. We will definitely be back!
thomas martyn
Nice Irish Pub style place. i had corned beef and cabbage and to me it was very much like what I had as a kid growing up. Service was really good also.
Alan M
Great service as usual from the Authentic Irish Barman Martin!
Rodolphe Parent
Great service, beers and food. Good for kids, right across the Children’s Museum
Carlos Garcia
This is a really nice Irish bar in a great location. The staff was helpful & friendly. They also had great live music.
John Chambers
Food was delicious best Sheppards Pie! Guiness fries were awesome. Definitely a repeat visit coming up in the near future!
S T
Just came for some drinks before dinner. Typical Irish pub. Guinness on tap what more do I need to say.
Jessica Nason
Excellent food and even better service! Amazing! I will be coming back for some more cod bites and "Guinness" gravy with fries!
Frank
Was thinking the new Four Green Fields couldn't possibly be as awesome as the original pub, but it is just as outstanding! Very attentive waiter!! Great music!
Bill B
Kilkenny and Harp were delicious! Nice atmosphere. Oodles of old Irish pictures and memorabilia.
Larry Poleyeff
Good food. Nice Irish atmosphere. Live music.
Tiffany Valencia
The smothered fries were so good. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food.
Jeanpaul Jimenez
Great drinks, live music, and a true Irish experience. I would definitely return for drinks or food. I recommend the Green Tea Shot.
Bev Evans
Not the best, had fish chips, fish ok chips cold and anemic, chicken dinner was slop. Being British ourselves we were looking for some nice homecooked offerings, very disappointed
Larry Hudak
Guinness on tap, how can you go wrong! Bartender turned us on to their whiskey.......!
Steve Jennings
Nice Irish pub located next to Curtis Hixon Park and a water taxi stop. Good selection of beer & whiskey, friendly staff.
R K
Great little bar, especially if you've just finished up at the museum and you need a small meal and a Guinness.
deborah birchall
I enjoy tasting some of the beers that have been made, with my son and his cousin Sherri, we enjoyed spending time!
Daniel Hogan
Great Irish pub on the Tampa Riverwalk. Beer prices are a little high but food very reasonable and tasty.
Mackie McNamara
Recommended by my Irish buddies at the Celtic Ray public house in Punta Gorda, this place is outstanding… Anytime I can get an imperial pint of Guinness poured to perfection is a good time!
Brandon Treadway
That Jimmy and Tracy are really cool. They have live music Friday and Saturday. Love taking my friends here. Would definitely recommend

Scooby Olivier
Great atmosphere, unique and classic food, a perfect pint of Guinness
Jeff Downing
Fantastic, authentic atmosphere! Loved the food, drinks and live music!
Jeff Mills
Had a great time at the Hixon Park location. The only complaint is plastic shot glasses should never be used in Irish Car Bombs
Terry Goodfellow
Good drinks, but they had no food available we tried to order! Odd!
Jesse O'Brien
Great service, great pints and great staff! You can get "to go" beers as well to head out into the park or along the Riverwalk.
Mike Plotkowski
Awesome food and amazing place to hang out with friends
A. Dz
Great service, great food

Sarah F
Love Four Green Fields! Great food, beer, and service and I always stop by if I'm in the area

new location is 180 from old. New place was struggling and short staffed. Right on river downtown, but misses the old places vibe.
