Took my husband out for his birthday, 1st time here.
The service was amazing. The server suggested a martini for my husband. He liked it but he’s not really a drinker so it got warm before he drank it but he didn’t mind. My margarita was really good.
My steak was perfect at M.R.
My husband ordered his M.W. And it came out Rare. It was replaced instantly and taken off the bill which was not needed. Apparently, this place wants to ensure “customer satisfaction”. The sides were definitely shareable.
I made sure to tip half the bill since the one steak was taken off as well as the server was very attentive.

Came with uncle and we had a great time at the bar. Amazing service and some of the best steaks in the area. I ordered the dry aged rib eye and it was well worth the price! Very marbled and the taste was blissful. Nothing short of euphoria on the palate.
Sides were good and so were the apps. Drinks were generously portioned as is everything else at Charley's!

My Guus took me to Charley's steak house for my birthday celebration. We were greeted with a card on the table and both Matt & Vinny were awesome in their wishes
We started with a blackberry lemonade which was amazing, as were the appetizers of bacon wrapped scallops and the calamari. They do calamari right. Crisp and tender and the marinara is to die for. I should have stopped here, because since it was my birthday they brought us out 3 amazing meat balls that you only get when celebrating. So good.
We over ordered for 3 people. We got a small 8oz fillet and a 50 oz porterhouse and 3 shareable sides: bacon cheddar mash, the head of cauliflower and the broccoli and garlic. Everything was tasty, but the cauliflower is our hands down favorite.
We left with a lot of left overs and that's fine, we have good food for tomorrow

On Vacation and this restaurant was highly recommended. This restaurant didn’t let me down not one bit. For an appetizer we had the crab cakes with like a pineapple salsa…I had the Lamb Chops with cheddar mash potatoes ( which are shareable portions.) The chops had a mint sauce that had a kick amazing. My friend had the Filet Mignon. For dessert we had the Sweet Butter Cake. The service was great from the time we arrived until we left the building.

A cool old Florida vibe. The smell of the wood fired grill helps to set the mood when you enter, but your attention is quickly turned to some huge slabs of beast waiting for your selection in the chiller. Awesome steaks, great sides as well. I wasn’t too crazy for the lobster Mac and cheese as it was different than I’m use to, but everything else was amazing. The chilled forks in the glass of ice to use with dessert was a nice touch as well.

My husband and I came to Charley's tonight for our 1 year wedding anniversary. There are no words to describe how good the food was. Thanks to Delila our server for the night. She was absolutely amazing and very informative. Everything Delila recommended we ordered!! From appetizers all the way to dessert... That BUTTER CAKE!! Jesus take the wheel!! You won't be disappointed!

I have had the pleasure of coming here twice and neither time has disappointed. My second visit was for my GFs birthday and they are extremely attentive and thankful for this. Lisa our server was amazing! Thank you!
The food here is just plain good! Must haves are the cedar plank cauliflower, don't argue just do it. The steak selection is great with different types and flavor profiles. Each time they are made perfect to your request and with amazing house flavor. Lastly the deserts, haven't had a bad one yet and have tried 4 of the 7-8 options they have.
This place has a great atmosphere.

Really one of the best steaks we've ever had. The Bone-In Kansas Strip was fantastic. Super tasty and soft, cooked to our liking medium. The broccoli was a little to soft, but also delicious. Our starters were also very delicious. tuna sashimi and spicy octopus. Only the oysters were not that amazing. One was so small, you hardly saw it... 🤣 At the end, a delicious cheese cake. a great evening with lovely server Willie. Thanks

Charley's was so accommodating when we called to inform them we would be late for our reservation. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and there had been an accident on the HF bridge stalling traffic. When we finally got there, there was no wait time to seat us at a table even though they were very busy. Our server Adonis was very professional but fun, offering great recommendations and exceptional service. Our dinner and drinks were excellent, along with the desserts we took home for later. There's no question as to why Charley's is one of the top steak houses in the nation.

I brought my husband here for his birthday as a surprise. I made reservations that morning so our table was ready as we arrived. Our server was well trained and knowledgeable of the meat presentation he gave. I think his side suggestions were to hike up the bill for (possibly) a better tip? Can't say for sure though. The food was absolutely fantastic and the drinks were the best we've ever had anywhere!! The only reason for 1 star less than a 5 is bc I thought the steaks seemed quite a bit over priced in my opinion. BUT the food was plenty and our service was great! I loved the special touch with a signed card (by the wait staff) at the table when we arrived for the birthday. As well as a free icecream to celebrate! Over all quite the experience!

Great food, and service! Nice atmosphere will definitely be back. We had the porterhouse which was delicious. the lobster Mac, Bacon wrapped diver scallops and Garlic broccoli. Jason was out server, and he was just awesome!

Our favorite place! Been going for a decade now. So many memories , birthdays , anniversary’s and more. Grade A service. Never a bad meal or drink! Best steak ever and wonderful dirty martinis! The filet is top line! The desserts are amazing and the sides are great! Great service! Always a treat to go! We go a minimum of a couple times a year. So worth it!

Amazing! So first reservations slots were very slim but luckily we got one.
The ambience was very romantic and it wasn't very loud.
We started with drinks the Cherry Whiskey Sour, excellent choice a perfect balance not to sweet or sour!
I ordered the Crab Cakes for my entree, I ordered an extra one but two was enough. They were flavorful and meaty not bready.
My SO ordered the Filet Mignon 8oz medium well and it was cooked to perfection. He said it melted in his mouth. His favorite steakhouse!
Both of the sides were were delicious and more than enough.
We topped it all off with the strawberry cake, it was so good and very light.
I absolutely recommend!

On yesterday I visited Charley’s for the very first time. From the start of the evening, the tone was set for the night. The guys in valet was so welcoming. We were escorted to our seats and to my surprise I had a birthday card waiting for me at the table. Our servers were Delila, Rich, and Vinny. Those three really made my experience so much better. They knew every detail of the menu and even though we had other guest in our room, it felt as if they were solely working with us lol. The chef made a special appetizer for me as a gift for my birthday, our drinks were on point, and the porterhouse steak…..melted in my mouth!!!!! Hands down the best steak I have ever had!!! I cannot wait to go back!!

My sister and I visited to spend Valentine’s weekend together. Parking was an absolute nightmare. It seemed like they were trying to accommodate the entire city of Tampa that night. Our reservation was at 9:15pm and we were seated around 9:25pm.
I ordered a mint julep but was not impressed. Mint juleps are usually served with bourbon, but the liquor was light. I’ve even hade a homemade version with grand Marnier that was 10x better.
For our appetizers we ordered crab cakes and the fried gator. The crab cakes were not fishy at all, super soft and not overpowered by breadcrumbs like some restaurants do. The fried gator was amazing on its own, but the aioli definitely did it justice! The house salad was crispy and fresh. We also ordered a side of lardons and blue cheese. The lardons were a little chewy for my liking and the blue cheese was way too powerful for me—and I do love blue cheese!
I ordered the porterhouse (medium rare). The outside had a beautiful color—though I think it may have been charred a bit too much as my steak was a little too smoky for my liking. Other than that, the inside was nice, and it tasted great the next day. I was also very impressed with the cauliflower! For the most part, the food was fantastic, but the cauliflower may have been my favorite part!
Our server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed and I felt a little rushed. I was surprised at how generous their portions were for fine dining. Unfortunately, I did not have room for dessert, but I regret not getting a sweet butter cake to go. I will be back!

This was my first experience at this restaurant… it did not meet my expectations. The food was ok. The filet was amazing!!! Lobster tail lacked flavor as did the lobster Mac and cheese. The mushrooms would good, shrimp cocktail was good, lobster bisque was great. The service was horrible! Our waitress spent most of her time at a table of 3 that sat across from our table of 2. We asked several times for different things such as butter for the bread, or a refill on our empty drinks. She said she would bring it and never came. Then charged us an additional $240 for our steak. (A Double charge) our bill came to $700.00 for the two of us (only one alcoholic drink) the prices were much more than other comparative restaurants, so as you can imagine when our first bill had an extra $240, we were a little shocked… I sadly wouldn’t go back!

Me and my wife went to Charley's last night for my birthday. The staff was great, and gave me a few complementary bday items. Adonis was our waiter and he was fantastic. Very energetic and spunky. The Filet was one of the best steaks I've had in Tampa. We will definitely be back and hope Adonis is our waiter again!

My fiancé and I are mostly vegan but do eat fish. We got a gift card to Charley’s so went here for dinner. They have some decent fish options but many of them have dairy. They were willing to make some accommodations but then had a difficult time executing these. One of dishes came without the accommodations requested so we had to send it back to ensure it was prepared properly. Somewhat frustrating but we appreciated them re-making the food. The meal was about 20 minutes later than our other meal which was a little frustrating as well and the restaurant did not do anything to accommodate this. The full fish was really delicious although you do have to work to eat it. My fiancé got the alligator bites to start which he liked. The crab salad was also amazing and had a great sauce. The rolls have cheese as well and so does the salad (salad they could make without but the rolls they could not).

We are loyal Charley’s guests and have enjoyed many experiences at their Orlando locations. This location however didn’t not meet our expectations we have come to expect. Service and food quality need work. Sat at the bar, felt like we were ignored throughout our dining experience. Other guests on either side of us were receiving more attentive service. Bottle of wine we ordered took over 15 minutes to be served, and our glasses sat empty often because refills were infrequent. Sent back the bison steak because 50% was in eatable fat. Very unusual because bison is leaner than beef but this was a very poor cut and should not have been sold due to the low quality. Especially at a $90 price tag. Manager comp’d both steaks for the inconvenience. We loved the venue, and truly wish we had an equal or better experience to what we have consistently experienced at their Orlando locations.

Went here with a couple of buddies and it was better than we had hoped! Everything we ate was delicious. The Porterhouse was cooked perfectly and was some of the best meat I've ever eaten, the sautéed mushrooms were delicious, and we also got the butter cake, which was hands-down the best dessert I've ever eaten (for real, get it). There was a slight mistake with the food that was brought out but our server was very quick to rectify everything and even brought out some free lobster bisque. Can't recommend this place enough!

I must start this review by highlighting the impeccable service we received from Adonis. His enthusiasm and joy were so contagious--and sorely needed after a very rough week at work!
Other than that...
I had very high expectations for Charlie's -- and, unfortunately, they were not met. I'll start with the ambiance: I was expecting a quieter, more upscale setting. Instead, we walked into the loudest restaurant I have ever been to. I've had way more enjoyable, intimate dinners where I didn't have to scream to my companions even if they were less than two feet away from me. Given the price point of the restaurant, this was incredibly off-putting and disappointing.
Next, we were introduced by the joy that is Adonis. He expertly guided us through the menu and the different meats offered. We ordered a variety of cuts, from wagyu filet mignon to porterhouse; aged to oak grilled.
For the appetizer, we picked the gator bites, which were the only truly outstanding dish of the night.
All the steaks we ordered sorely missed seasoning; I'm talking about them not even having enough salt and pepper to enhance the meat. Nada. It was truly embarrassing to admit that we can cook a much better, more flavorful grass-fed mignon at home for less than a quarter of the price we paid here. Yikes...
The side dishes, lobster mac and cheese and au gratin potatoes, arrived cold to lukewarm. They were tasty, but not worth the price tag either.
For dessert, we ordered a key lime pie and carrot cake. They were good, but not the best we've had.
Sadly, I don't think I'll ever go back to Charlie's. There are way too many restaurants with higher-quality, tastier, more unique food for much lower price tags all over Tampa Bay.
Honestly, I would have given less than three stars if it weren't for the outstanding service we received. Thank you Adonis: you made our night

If you are looking for a restaurant to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or anything special this is a great choice. Reservations are a must. The service is excellent and all the food is fresh and presented beautifully. We had a few craft cocktails that were very good and the desserts are purchased from Mikes Pies a local bakery and the sea salted caramel cheese cake is the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten. My only complaint was that it took too long for our wine to come out. We were told the sommelier had to handle every bottle that gets selected but it was a very slow process on a busy night. My only thoughts for improvement.

My wife and I went here for our second anniversary dinner. We both agreed that it was one of the best meals we have ever had. For an appetizer we got the bacon wrapped scallops. While they were not huge in portion size, they came with an incredible Jezebel marmalade sauce that was perfectly spicy. I would highly recommend this appetizer.
For our main course we got the Chilean Seabass, the 21 day dry aged ribeye, and a side of the lobster mac & cheese. The ribeye had a perfectly cooked medium center and the flavor was the best I’ve ever tasted in a steak. Before choosing a steak, they actually bring out a huge tray with all of their different cuts, and carefully explain what differentiates the different meats. This was helpful in picking a steak that would fit my personal taste.
For dessert we ordered the triple layer chocolate cake. It was phenomenal, and not too sweet or overwhelming.
I also think it’s worthwhile talking about their customer service. Because it was our anniversary the manager personally brought us an order of their homemade meatballs as an appetizer in addition to the bacon wrapped scallops that we ordered. On top of the meatballs for an appetizer, our waitress gave us a free vanilla sundae for dessert. We didn’t eat it all, and asked for a box to go. Our waitress asked if we wanted a cup of milk to take back with us as a side for free. While this was a very small gesture, it was above and beyond what you normally expect out of restaurant staff.
Overall it was an exceptional experience, and we are so thankful we got to spend our anniversary at Charley’s!

If I could leave 10 stars, I would. I took my nephews there for one of their birthdays and was blown away by the exceptional service. The waygu was cooked perfectly, the garlic bread was pillow soft and heavenly, porterhouse was delicious, and the sides were just as good. Our server Rich made sure the experience held up to their reputation. They made his birthday very special. We will be back!

Excellent service! I would consider Charley's as a typical nice steakhouse. Got a filet mignon with crab oscar over the top but didn't feel like they gave enough crab meat. The meal comes with salad and cheese bread.

The absolute, hands down, 100% best steak restaurant in the Tampa MSA. I can’t sing their praises loud enough. To start, it’s a very convenient location off 275. The building is old but very classy. The service was second to none. Our server (Thomas) was outstanding. His knowledge level is top notch. They bring out raw steaks from which you get to choose your preferred cut. They cook a perfect medium rare. The sides were outstanding. The homemade ice cream was a great touch. It’s pricey, but we’ll be back.

The food was AMAZING 🤗🥰, I took my best friend of more than 21 years for her 66th birthday 🎂 celebration 💃🏻🎉. The filet mignon literally melted in your mouth and was So tender that you didn't even need a knife because you really could cut it with your fork😋💯. And the portions were huge 😲🤗💃🏻. We actually shared the 12oz steak and the 19oz lobster tail with the bacon and cheddar stuffed baked potato and Charley's house salad for our sides 💃🏻😋🤗. I do believe that the baked potato must have weighed in at about 2 lbs 😲 because there was nearly 1/2 a lb of Bacon 😋🤗on it 🤗. We have both Told EVERYONE we know that if they ever want to Enjoy the BEST Meal of their lives... When in Tampa go to CHARLEY'S for dinner 😋💃🏻

Charley’s has to be one of the best experiences of all time. Came for my boyfriends 30th bday & they greeted him with a birthday card (nice touch), and the service the entire time was impeccable. Our server, Adonis, was knowledgeable, personable, and charismatic through and through. He answered all of our questions although we didn’t have many after his amazing descriptions of all of the wines, meats, appetizers, and desserts. Will be asking for him again the next time we go! I got the Chilean Sea Bass & that small hint of Wasabi you get in with the sweetness was mouth watering & it was cooked perfectly it melted in my mouth! Amazing food, service and experience!

On vacation in Florida, my wife and I decided to try a steakhouse in Tampa that was on our radar. Charley's Steakhouse was a great place. When in Rome as they say, I tried the wild Alligator bites (battered with dipping sauce). Believe it or not better than expected.
Also the crab cake appetizer, seasoned with tasted like a light curry.
My main entree was a Bison 🦬 bone in steak with a Bleu cheese sauce.
Lean, tender and flavorful. A+

Went and tried Charleys for the first time while in Tampa and I’m blown away. Dining experience was definitely top notch. From the moment you walk in, the decor and lighting ambience is perfect IMO. Service was immediate with drinks and appetizers followed by a massive tray of steaks to choose from. I went with the bison bone in steak and it was perfect. It is obviously on the pricey side but well worth it on special occasions or even frequent if you have the cash to spend. Can’t wait for the next dining experience here.

Came here on a Friday and ordered the 28 oz dry aged prime ribeye. The menu gave a disclaimer that their 1200 degree grill would make it have a thicker crust, but they for sure put the "char" in Charley's. Just a bitter, crunchy outer layer of a steak. It was still cooked to medium rare in the middle, but the cap was so charred and overcooked it wasn't enjoyable.
We had a group of 6 so gratuity was automatically added, which is pretty standard. They also have on their menu that salads and bread are included with the purchase of an entree, but showed up at $10 each on the bill. The sides were good and one of the first places to advertise family style that provided enough for the table.

We had the NY strip and wagyu filet mignon, both excellent steaks! Had the crab cakes for starter and the garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish, both very delicious. My boyfriend didn’t like the crab cakes, he thought the flavor was “strong.” I disagree. Had the strawberry lemonade and classic mojito. The lemonade was overwhelming sweet, would not recommend. The mojito was great, although a very small serving.
Crème brûlée for dessert was so amazing I ordered one to go.
Customer service was excellent. If you want any modification to your dish, the waiting and kitchen staff will make it happen (if it’s a reasonable request).
Ambiance was very nice. Each area has only six tables so your area doesn’t get too crowded but once the area was seated to capacity, it got a little loud and I couldn’t hear my partner very well.

Favorite place to eat with the wife to celebrate special occasions! Can’t go wrong with any of the meats. Have had the dry aged rib eye, porterhouse, and the wagyu; cooked to perfection every time. The most pleasant surprise of a dish here is the cedar plank cauliflower. I have no words to describe that dish, but it leaves me salivating every time it comes to the table. Desserts are great. Service is what you should expect at establishments like this, or similar to this. They’re always looking to make your experience better than the last.

Great, old-school steak place. Rustic, dark wood, attentive service. Had the filet - was perfect. Butter cake dessert is ridiculous.
Make sure to make reservations, don’t go cheap, and go hungry.

Updated Review. Oct 2022 We sat in the bar again, make a reservation for the high top tables. Randall was our Waiter, he was amazing. Enjoyed the Lobster Bisque, which was exquisite. One of the best I've had. Also, the boiled "family" lobster was to die for. Perfect morsel of sweet, boiled lobster, bite size, without being rubbery or dry. Their bread is cheesy, crunchy yet soft. Indulge in at least one bite!
Early 2022; We sat in the bar, the service was superb, food outstanding and experience amazing. Fresh lobster and au gratin potatoes. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Amazing If you are in the Tampa area this restaurant is a MUST. I had the double boned Pork Chop from a Wild Boar Cut Outstanding cut of Pork. Waiter Edward was amazing. Must try this Pork Chop. Your mouth will water. It is juicy and tender and very thick. The knife cuts through it like butter.

This place was fabulous, all-around! The presentation, the menu descriptions by our host, and the special anniversary meatballs they served for our celebration were all off-the-charts impressive! Not only does Charley's in Tampa serve the most top-notch variety of premium, quality steaks in town, their dessert menu is mouth-watering just hearing it! I feel like time stood still for a brief moment as I had my first bite of butter-creme cake with vanilla ice cream! Best of all, the wife approved... Way to go, Charley's Steak House!

We had a woman server from Nyc she was very good efficient definitely a sales girl. I ordered a Grey goose dirty martini with blue cheese olives she upsold a different vodka with bacon and blue cheese excellent martini but literally zero blue cheese only bacon and the olives ( $20 ) . She upselled it all even after I ordered three sides for two people she said “do you want to get the feature” with the mushrooms? I am thinking it was just a little side of mushrooms at no additional cost turns out both steaks it was an $11 up charge with a cognac sauce I believe after we already ordered a béarnaise and a truffle sauce why would we want three sauces . Turned me off when I saw that it was the principal not the $11. We did not like the sides at all. That’s what I enjoy at a steak house. The potatoes, cauliflower & corn was simply not good. I never understand why these large sides aren’t offered in half orders especially when you have a small party and you want a little of this and a little of that you are stuck with to much. We were in the garden room we loved our booth great lighting but there was a large party sat behind us and the mail server was just obnoxiously yelling at the table going over each item on the menu, everything he was having to say to this table the entire room heard every word, I mean it was just too much. The flavor of the wood that they smoke the meats is very distinctive not everyone will like it, heads up. Overall very expensive two adults and a nine-year-old over $400 without gratuity. If I do go back I would order very defensively.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Charley's tonight. What an amazing experience it was!! Our server, Daryl, made it fun, while his knowledge of steaks and menu suggestions were so helpful. The food, drinks and desserts were incredibly delicious. The service was excellent as well! Thank you for a memorable evening, and a wonderful way to celebrate our special day. Had my anniversary dinner at Charley’s. Everything was to die for. I’m not kidding honestly it was probably the best steak I’ve ever eaten had the dry aged ribeye with truffle butter. Adonis was our server and he was fantastic. His recommendations were tremendous and he took the best care of us on our special day we are from out of town but want to come back just to have him and his hospitality again. 10/10 would recommend

This place was amazing overall. The bread and house salad set the tone for how good it was going to be. The steaks are solid. Our lobster was a bit tough. Sides were amazing. Butter cake was incredible. The atmosphere is perfect. The service was great until we got our food and then we weren't checked on for quite some time and needed to flag someone down because our entire table had empty drinks and water glasses. Overall will definitely recommend and return.

I took my daughter’s to Charley’s for her 18th birthday, everything was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the crusted Salmon with Parmesan it was delicious. We stopped by for drinks on Monday; at the door the hostess needs to take your name and call inside for confirmation ( for bar seating ). We had a nice time, service was great, and drinks were professionally prepared. A/C is breezy.. so bring a sweater .. and you might get stuck with valet parking if doubletree lot is full ..

Completely amazed by the customer service, and quality of food! I definitely recommend going in hungry, you're going to want to try it all. Brittany and Vinny were our wonderful servers, both had fantastic recommendations throughout the night.
After telling Brittany that I don't actually drink alcohol, she asked what my flavor palate would be for a drink. I mentioned I was looking for something refreshing, and she had the bartender surprise me with a mocktail! It's the little things such as that, that make the experience special.
For a starter, we had the Wild Florida Gator. The way they marinate the gator with citrus, helps minimize the "gamey" taste. It was accompanied by horseradish aioli (which generally I am not a huge fan of horseradish), however it truly complimented the gator well.
Brittany came back with the tray of all trays, the meat tray. I've seen dessert trays, but never a meat tray. Such an awesome idea, I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to the sections of steak, along with the primary differences. This helped me a lot, especially since I am a visual person and Brittany explained the details of each cut thoroughly.
I decided to go with the Wagyu Filet Mignon. (Why can't I use a million heart eye emojis on here? lol) It was seriously the best steak I've ever had - maybe I've said that about other places but this was definitely a game changer and tops the cake. It cut like butter, and oh so juicy. The addition of the truffle butter was heavenly. My husband decided to go with the bone-in Kansas City strip. - talk about a massive steak! He was also in heaven, and said it was definitely the best he has had. For sides we went with Bacon and Cheddar Mashed, along with Sautéed Mushrooms, both were excellent choices. Keep in mind the sides are massive.
Even though I didn't think I had any room for dessert, my husband convinced me we needed 2 Crème Brulees. We didn't NEED two, but after how delish it was.. I am thankful we did get two. Vinny did an excellent tableside presentation of caramelizing the top. Vinny also came with the jokes, I always love good laughs!

Excellent service from the staff from valet to host, to dinner and exit. The steak was cooked to perfection. My wagyu was super juicy with a perfect char outside, with nice red inside. I was provided three meatballs on the house as a starter. We ordered the escargot for an appetizer but we a but let down. The escargot was nice and juicy and smooth, but drenched in butter with little garlic. I've had escargot in Paris before which was the best. This looked like it would come close, but wasnt. The garlic butter needed much more garlic to balance out the flavor. That was our only let down the for the night. The wagyu steak was one of the best, and we ordered the au gratin potatoes which was nice with a crispy top. The whole head of Cauliflower was a different type of dish that stood out. A little too tender for my wife, but I loved it. It was good overall. We enjoyed our time and will come back.

The Filet Mignon is absolutely phenomenal, not to mention the Triple Chocolate Cake, which was also amazing. A little bit pricey, but the richness and flavor of the food absolutely fits the bill.

We went there last night for our anniversary dinner and it was fantastic! The entire staff was so friendly including our wonderful server Lisa. The staff put an anniversary card on the table that was signed by everyone. The manager stopped by our table a couple of times to make sure everything was going well and to congratulate our anniversary. The food was amazing!! We ordered the aged Porterhouse and the NY Strip and can say those were the best steaks we have ever had. We also had the complimentary meatballs (YUM!) along with the bacon wrapped scallops which were to die for. To top it all off, they also gave us a complimentary ice cream sundae with fruit. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and family!! Thank you again for a wonderful night!!

Had a very good business dinner here the drinks and service were excellent. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the New York strip had so much silverskin it made cutting the steak almost impossible. This needs to improve but what I could eat was excellent.

My partner and I have been to Charley’s many times - we come here to go all out for our anniversary. Food was outstanding as usual but the service on our last two visits have left a lot to be desired. On Saturday, we sat at the table for quite some time before we were greeted and when our waiter did come by, he said there would be another waiter helping him. This waiter never even dropped by to introduce himself. It was a Saturday night so we do give some grace as it is a busy night for all restaurants. Once our food arrived my steak was over cooked. No biggie - mistakes happen - we had plenty to eat at the table but it was quite a while before we saw our server after the food was placed on the table. Once we were able to bring it to his attention, the steak came out quickly and was cooked just right.
When spending top dollar for a meal, excellent service should be expected with that price. We look forward to this experience every year but we were a little let down this time around. I think we’ll rethink our usual plans for the next anniversary.

Fantastic dining experience in a proper steakhouse setting. We enjoyed salads, lobster, and the shrimp cocktail as appetizers. The table enjoyed the porterhouse, lamb chops, ribeye, and filet. We dined at Charley's last night on our honeymoon, and it was delicious. We had the 21-day aged NY strip & the wagyu filet mignon- both were incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. Our server Brooke was amazing- she even took us on a little tour where she took pictures for us! The entire staff was super friendly, and they even let me return after hours to retrieve an item that I'd accidentally left. Charley's can hold their own against any of the other big boy steakhouses for sure!

It was really delicious and one of the better steakhouses I've been to. We got the stone grab, crab martini, cauliflower side and 3 steaks and it came to about $310 + $100 tip. Since it was my husband's birthday they brought out a complimentary strawberry sundae. Overall I felt everything was worth the price except the stone crab. I think there's like a shortage or something with them so we knew the market price would be high.... they were delicious and fun to eat but still just still not worth it. Don't hesitate to try this place out!

It was my birthday dinner and my wife picked this place because she knows I love steaks. I am very picky so choosing one of there many delicious cuts of steak was tough. I got the 21 old aged ribeye and it was divine. This was the best steak of my life and I still can taste it. There was nothing I could complain about in this restaurant. From the complementary meat balls to the bread, everything was tasty. Our server Brooke was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job keeping us happy during our time there. I chose to visit this place for my spouses birthday on the 3rd. From the moment we sat , until the time we left everything was amazing from the drinks, to the flavorful tender steaks and the dessert. With all that being said I think the service was just as top notch. Professional, Knowledgeable and descriptive about each item but also not just talking at you. Even had a visit from the manager to see how our evening was going. I only wish I remembered our servers name as we had 2 of them, so I could fully give the credit where due. Delilah and Fish provided the best service I by far have ever received. They worked great as a team and were extremely knowledgeable about everything. The food and dessert was outstanding as well. I do wish there were more side portion add on options, i.e a 5oz lobster tail to a steak or a side of shrimp. I wanted to try more of the food but most things came in dinner portions. The service (Eddie), the presentation & explanation of the cuts of steak, the perfection of the cook of our steaks - I had the NY Strip, the desserts.
Everything on point. I will definitely make a point of having dinner here again on my next trip to Tampa.

Incredible food, best pork chop i've ever tasted in my life, the added truffle sauce was a delicious addition as well. They gave us a stuffed mushroom dish for our anniversary and it was great too! The overall experience was excellent! We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server Michael was very pleasant and knowledgeable. For apps we ordered the calamari and gator. The calamari was delicious! So flavorful and tender. The best I've ever had! The gator wasn't that great. It was chewy and some bites were tough. We've had better. I got the sunset drink and the blueberry mojito. Both were really good. My husband had both of the old fashioned drinks. He said they were good. For our entrees I had the dry aged ribeye and he had the dry aged porterhouse. Both were absolutely delicious!! I liked the porterhouse a lot more. My ribeye didn't seem to be cooked all the way the more you got towards the bone. It was kind of raw. The salad that came with the entree was spectacular and this comes from a person that doesn't really care for salads. I would come here again just for the salad lol. For sides we got bacon cheddar mashed and broccoli. For dessert we tried almost all lol we got the cream brulee (it was ok, presentation was nice), butter cake (excellent!), cheesecake to go (excellent) and the chocolate cake to go (VERY chocolatey! But good). We can't wait to come back and try some of their other meat selections!

Kids menu was great - girls had a burger (it was awesome made from ground filet) and a hot dog (also very good).
Apetisers we had the bacon wrapped scallops and crab cakes - scallops stole the show.
Steak. The filet was great as was the aged bone in steak. Both cooked perfectly medium rare we enjoyed them thoroughly and had leftovers.
Sides. We ordered too many - they are big (mushrooms, scalloped potatoes, and broccoli) plus the dinner comes with a house salad and cheese bread (delicious hot and fresh) so we had a LOT leftover see pics attached.
Drinks. I had a few drafts from Cigar City Brewing, and wife had a mixed drink and a prosecco.
Staff. was great and accommodated us despite the fact that we had a reservation issue; our reservation was not in the system. However, the staff found room to seat our family of four thank you!

I’ve been to Charley’s a few times but this was definitely my favorite experience thus far. Let’s just start with our server - Adonis. He is amazing. Everything you would want in a server and more! He was so knowledgeable and had awesome recommendations. He really made the experience a five star for me. We did meet Corey (sorry I am spelling this wrong) and he took his time to walk us through a few wine selections. When I say I thought this man owned a winery because of the level of knowledge - I mean it. He was super nice and very accommodating.
The food at charley’s is amazing. If you feel like splurging definitely order the Waygu steak (not pictured) and get the lobster. Just do it, you won’t regret it.

For people who always love a good steak, Charley's did not disappoint. The meal started with cheese bread, soft, warm, and delectable. I ordered the bone-in NY strip(well done). The steak arrived med/rare. Our waitress Amber stood by to ensure the meal was as ordered. As soon as I cut into the steak, Amber immediately asked for the steak and returned it to the kitchen for further cooking. Amber was amazing. The sautéed garlic broccoli was flavorful and tender. The cheese and bacon mashed potatoes took the potatoes to another level. Last but not least, Amber delivered impeccable service. This was the best birthday dinner. Next time we are in Tampa, we will definitely have dinner at Charley's.

I have been dining at Charleys (Tampa), 1 to 2 times a month, entertaining clients, for over a decade. I have never had such bad service & inconsistencies in food, consecutively. It’s got to the point where as I do not recommend and I no longer take clients unless very specific employees are working.
The females working the bar are abhorrent. There is one young lady who blatantly disrespects patrons who arrive past 8 pm, regardless of reservation. I’ve personally experienced this twice, with 2 different clients on 2 different occasions.
There is only 1 bartender and 2 servers that excel every time ( Tori, Dan, Josh)
You can guarantee premium service with them.
Although, I have not experienced every server, the ones I have, pale in comparison and the other bartenders are a complete embarrassment.
I am not sure if there has been a change in management, however someone needs to pay very close attention. You are absolutely losing money & clientele to surrounding restaurants.

We had the most amazing time at Charley’s. We had Vinnie & Mike host our Star Wars themed corporate event. Yes, that’s a thing! They were so attentive and helpful with every question and inquiry that we had. Last year we were there and it was a 5 star restaurant. We were treated like queens. This year I give it a 3 star because our waiter greeted us with a floss pick in his mouth. Never mentioned "extra" charges, like $8 for a bottle of water. He was inattentive and yet too detailing on the meat display. We won't be back. Sorry Charlie.

Gary's Old Fashioned is one of my favorite cocktails anywhere. Appetizers are all dynamite - I'm particularly a fan of the Gator. I've tried a number of their steaks and keep coming back to the Wagyu filet. It is beyond delicious. Sides are all family style and exquisite. Great food and service. The lobster was cooked perfectly and steak is well seasoned. The lobster Mac was a huge portion. The lobster bisque was one of the best in Tampa. I would definitely recommend the plant city strawberry cake as a dessert. The kind grab was a big disappointment, over cooked and very dry.

This is hard to write - the food is so damn good. It just is. Having not been to Bern's yet, Charley's steaks are better than Steelbach, which is delicious, but Charley's is better. They are steak experts, from the cuts to the presentation of the steak (KC Strip was new to me) to the taste off of the grill. Wow! The downfall - for the price, we walked away unsatisfied and we shouldn't but we did. The expertise and product is generally unquestionable until you get the bill. You need to try Charley's, you just do, you may love it (I hope so!) but I'll be going back to Steelbach as this was too much for me to justify.

One of the BEST filets I’ve had in a while! Perfectly seared on the outside and the flavor decadent! We ordered the 20 oz filet, stone crab claws and split it 3 ways which was plenty after we ordered the taster appetizer sampler! Lorryn and Kelly were supremely attentive, excellent bartenders. I would highly recommend this place if you’re able to get in! It’s always packed.

We booked a private room as I had my 3 kids and my wife. The food and service was amazing as usual. The servers went out of their way to make my kids feel special with mock tails, flavored sodas and specialty decaf coffees with desserts. The steaks and seafood were out of this world. We celebrated life and family, as these are such strange and trying times for everyone. Will return soon I hope.

I've been here with large parties a few times and their service and food was always amazing. I went for the first time by myself and just sat at the bar recently and as always it was a great experience. The bartenders were very patient with some other guests who were rather rude but they delt with it very well.

My fiancée and I were were in Tampa celebrating her birthday on 8/28 and I made reservations at another steakhouse (Bern's). After recommendations from friends, we decided to go to Charley's instead. We were told the Bern's "experience" is really good but the food at Charley's is better. We're foodies so we decided to give them a try. Let me begin by saying the service was impeccable! To start, my fiancée was greeted with 'Happy Birthday' wishes by the host at the front door. There was also a Birthday card signed by members of the restaurant staff at our table. Our servers were Delila and Chuck (I think???). They were great!!! They did an excellent job explaining the menu and made great recommendations. My fiancée started with the crab cakes. We're both from the Northeast and know a thing or two about seafood. The crab cakes (2) were good-sized with NO BREADING or FILLING. They were tender and cooked to perfection. Soon after, our server brought a cart with all of the cuts of beef and explained them thoroughly. I think we were both overwhelmed with the size of the cuts because we both (unknowingly) ordered the 28oz Ribeye each. While we waited for these Fred Flintstone sized brontosaurus steaks to arrive, our server suggested cocktails. We both got the Cherry Wood Smoked Old Fashioned and the Tito's Lemonade! They both were made very well! When the entrees arrived, we were speechless. We overlooked the words "shareable sides' on the menu. I ordered the roasted garlic mashed potatoes and she got the lobster mac & cheese. OMG! The servings are huge! It's similar to Carmine's in NYC. We sat in a booth and barely had enough room for all of the food. The steaks were cooked perfectly!!! I knew from the start I wasn't going to eat it all. No way! After forcing our way through half of everything, we were absolutely stuffed. No room for dessert... or so we thought. Our server recommended the Sweet Butter Cake. Said we had to try it!!!! So we did. They presented it along with an ice cream sundae with a candle accompanied by sincere and genuine birthday wishes. What a really nice gesture. Now... that Sweet Butter Cake was INCREDIBLE!!! It was hard to share. I almost ordered another one!!!!
Overall, our experience was great. The check + tip was well worth the experience and pretty much in-line with other top tier steak houses. The food was really good and again the service was impeccable. I'm glad our friends recommended Charley's. We eat out a lot and there have been times when we overpaid for average food and below average service (Bahama Breeze - Rocky Point). Not this time!!!! The food and the service was commensurate with the amount we spent. Good job Charley's!!!
BTW - our reservation was on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 9pm. To get that quality of food and service at that time of the night was amazing!!!!!

We had a delightful dinner with a great waitress. The problem is the prices are so outrageous, the steak is good but it is not outstanding. I had filet mignon, my husband had a ribeye and it's simply was not worth $300. We had one drink each at $20 each the steaks come only with a salad and bread, the menu is a la carte basically. Just not such an outstanding meal that you would pay this much money. Won't be going back. My husband grills a steak just as good if not better.

Have always been a frequent customer to this Charleys and have never made a review. This visit was worth it! We went to celebrate and our server was Georgie. She was amazing! My favorite drink the cantelope martini was not on the menu but they still made it for me! We ordered the dry aged ribeye, filet, au gratin potatoes, and mushrooms and everything was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to come back and request Georgie!

Love Charley's. We went for my bday. Wood fire grilled steaks. I had the Chilean bass and it was excellent. Every steak we have had there is so tasty. Salted caramel cheesecake was really good. Enjoyed my Hawaiian Cosmo.

While the manager did remedy one of our disappointments, overall I was really disappointed with our visit. I've been to Charley's before for a ladies group dinner and had a spectacular experience. My partner and I went for our anniversary and the disappointment started in the parking lot. Hardly any parking and it's shared with a hotel or you do valet and there was a large portion of the parking lot blocked off for valet. We're driving a Sprinter RV van, we're not valeting that.. had to park in the back by the dumpsters. We went to grab a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar and I thought there was a dress code.. didn't seem upscale. Our server was nice but seemed overwhelmed and was more interested in parties of people that were regulars or tables with just women. We asked to speak to the sommelier regarding some French wines we were interested in. Our server asked what we were interested in, we pointed out a few wines, he left, he came back and said that the somm likes this one (1 of the wines we were considering). I enjoy having conversations about wine, I was disappointed to not be able to talk to the somm when our server offered that as an option when we looked over the wine list. We had additional questions about a few things on the menu and our server didn't really know any answers. It took him some time to get answers and forgot at one point. It took 45 minutes for us to get our half dozen raw oysters and when they did come, there were 11 of the tiniest oysters we've ever seen. The manager did take care of taking them off our meal and provided desserts and coffee. This was a nice and welcomed gesture and he couldn't have been nicer and empathetic. We appreciated the effort and care. Our steaks were excellent, as were our baked potatoes and cauliflower, however, our house salads were wilted and very wet, obviously having been put together ahead of time and kept in the walk-in, not made fresh. We pointed this out as well. Overall, we expected much much more after having spent $400 on a meal.

I wish I would have taken pictures but I was too busy loving the food. The bread is something like food heaven. It was soft and fluffy and infused with cheese but not cheesy. My husband's steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The asparagus were just right and we had the fried lobster tail which was scrumptious. I had the salmon which was just OK, It was covered in cheese and although i love cheese, Im not a fan of melty gooey cheese over salmon. The salad ok but it was a little too wet, the lettuce wasnt crisp. Overall, the food was still good although I ate more of my husband's food than mine. The service and drinks were excellent. Derrick, our server, was fantastic. As for price...it was a little on the pricey side but worth it.

I took my father here for his birthday based on several people's recommendation, and he loved it! It was our first time at Charley's, so we were given the presentation on the different cuts of meats available, which helped us decide on what to order. My father opted for the 24oz Porterhouse, I chose the 6oz Wagyu Filet Mignon w/ truffle butter and we shared the Cheddar & Bacon Mashed. Everything was perfectly timed, the staff was great and it was more than enough food. There were no complaints on the Porterhouse, but unfortunately the Wagyu filet was a little underwhelming. It wasn't as tender as most of the filets I've had at home or dining out, and without the truffle butter it didn't have much flavor to it. I was expecting something grand because I've enjoyed wagyu at other restaurants, but this was average and not worth the splurge.

Had never been here before in all the years I've lived here but finally broke down and went...This is a true dining experience and even though I could've bought a plane ticket for what our meal cost I definitely was not disappointed...intimate dining at its finest definitely not somewhere I'd eat more than once a year...Service was of course impeccable and the atmosphere quite romantic...We dressed up however we did see people in more casual attire...I just wouldn't have felt comfortable not dressing up but definitely not a requirement to be seated...Went on a Sunday night and our reservation was for 6:30...The place was PACKED so I'd highly recommend a reservation...Not sure if reservations are required but I'd never just show up to a fine dining restaurant...The calamari was some of the best I've ever had HIGHLY recommend getting it..My Chilean sea bass was delectable as was his bison ribeye and the creme brulee melted in my mouth!! If you're looking to have a special meal for sure make your reservation at Charley's!!

I was in Tampa for a wedding this past weekend. This place was next to the hotel I stayed at in my previous trip to Tampa and I vowed to go and never got the chance to go. So I went this time, and Im glad I did. Place was crazy busy/noisy on a Friday night and it felt like contained/organized chaos in there. I sat at the bar. Sandra was the person who served me. She gets 10 stars. She was perfect. She was highly efficient at her job while being extremely nice, and not in a (……I have to because this is my job) type of way. The couple next to me who seemed to be regulars raved about her and echo’d my exact sentiments Im leaving here now. The bread was good, the steak was amazing. My fries were exactly how I envisioned a basket of the perfect bunch of fries should be. I left full and content. My next trip up there, I WILL be back.

Food was executed well. We went for a quiet dinner and were not disappointed in the menu. Although the menu is VERY steakhouse fancy, it lacked some newer on trend menu items. However the wood fired grilling style is definitely an acquired taste, and not for everyone. Would definitely go back again, and tweak our order for ordinary grilling.

Cocktails are top notch, always rotating through new recipes and interesting seasonal ingredients and flavors. Right now they have an "Washington State Apple" which is an apple martini with whiskey that is fall in a glass.
Usual go to apps are steak tartare, lobster bisque, and fried gator tail. Had the gator tail this time and it was excellent. Don't sleep on their cold seafood though.
House salad is amazing, better than most restaurants premium salads.
I am partial to the Prime dry aged Ribeye, though the lamb chops are phenomenal as well. My wife loves the Wagyu filet. Often she'll get a special sauce- this time it was truffle mushroom teriyaki and it was dynamite. All their steaks a great, their method of grilling high temp over oak and citrus wood is what sets them apart. Intense flavor
Side recommendations: Begins and ends with the Lobster Mac, if you only choose one this is what you get. But why stick with just one?? Roasted cauliflower is unique and delicious. Roasted creamed corn also truly unique smoky sweet flavor. They also can do your humble potato about 5 different ways and theyre all awesome.
Oooey gooey butter cake for dessert. Boom perfect meal, great service, and they truly take care of you.

The bison ribeye was cooked to perfection and tastes as good as it looks! For appetizers, we had gator and calamari. The gator was excellent. The calamari wasn’t as good. You don't go to a steak house and not get the steak.. But if you order the 24 oz one with a bunch of sides, make sure to skip lunch! Or not, your call. Clean and upscale ambience with great food. Only negative is with others that forget they're inside and is extremely loud when everyone is yelling at the bar. Otherwise, recommend as one of the area's best dinner spots.

Took my mother for her 70th birthday jet skiing and I have been wanting to come here since 2016. So for my early birthday gift my mother brought me here. Wow Rich and Shelly are the best waitress and waiter, I have ever had anywhere. I'm allergic to peanuts and sunflower seeds, they made sure what I was getting didn't have anything I couldn't have. Guess they didn't want to have that kind of adventure at the beginning of the night! Every course was excellent, we will be coming back, all the staff was super nice, but Rich and Shelly in my eyes went well beyond to make sure our experience was fantastic, Thank you for such a great adventure and experience!

Location and ambiance on point. Very clean and Covid Compliant. Though busy, the seating was quick. The server and mix master who took great care of me , J.T., was astute and courteous.
They offer touchless menus by scanning but I used the regular one which he asked if I had any questions and was very helpful. I had the bone in Ribeye augratin potatoes and broccoli and carrot cake, Yum! Oh and I had the salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing Delish. They also served me hot ciabatta bread!! The managers stayed vigilant and frequently walked throughout the restaurant observing and assisting their staff and patrons. They really appreciate your business. I've been a long time fan of this restaurant and they continue to outdo the competition. I was Celebrating a special occasion and was given a complimentary dessert of carrot cake and a berry sundae! Who knew? J.T. IS A WINNER AND THE MANAGERS GOT IT RIGHT!! Shout out to my girl Carrisa too! I really love This place and you will too!

I can't say enough good things about this place! We went for our anniversary. I had the aged 28 oz porterhouse with truffle butter and my wife had the 12 oz filet with lobster tail. I also ordered the red potato garlic mash. The garlic bread with cheese brought before our meal was amazing! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted like heaven with a bit of char taste to it. The garlic mashed potatoes are to die for! We finished our night at Charley's with a sweet buttery cake with ice cream. It was awesome! My wife says it was the best steak she's had in her life and I agree. Service was good as well, but the steak presentation seemed more robotic than personable, but I get they do it all night. It is very expensive, but if you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, look no further.

My family and I planned a surprise 35th anniversary dinner for my in laws. Charlie's made it something truly special. Special appetizers were brought out by the chief. Private room was offered by the hostess. An the presentation of a cake we had brought by earlier was just the icing on the cake.

If you want an exceptional meal this is the place to go. Being from the Midwest we appreciate a good steak cooked correctly. Every time we eat here we are never disappointed. During this visit we started with the colossal shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops, the portabella mushrooms and calamari. The shrimp cocktail is always so fresh and sweet. The crispy portabella mushroom fondu was amazing,This could be a meal if you don't eat meat. The bacon wrapped scallops - OMGoodness, I love this combination. The bacon was crisp with a slight smoky flavor and the scallops were nice and soft inside. The salads are served on cold plates which make them taste that much better. The sides are all family style and can be shared. The augratin potatoes are creamy and have just the right amount of cheese. I ate the sea salt baked potato for 3 days, its huge. The potato skin had a subtle salty flavor that was crispy and the inside was soft and squishy. I got the fixings on the side and they took up an entire plate. The creamed kale has just the right amount of cream and the kale has a nice soft texture. You MUST order the cedar plank cauliflower if you don't order any other side. They take a head of cauliflower and they encase it with a cheesy mixture and bake it so it comes out with a beautiful golden brown crust.
The steaks will be cooked exactly how you order them and they will be juicy and tender. My husband didn't think his porterhouse cut was as big as advertised (28 0z.) 1 1/2 " thick. It was cooked medium rare so there wasn't that much shrinkage. It did taste delicious and was cooked perfect. Make sure you save room for dessert because the cheese cake and sweet butter cake are AMAZING! The butter cake was very moist with a buttery crunch exterior. This is melt in your mouth good. The smoked pineapple sunset is my favorite cocktail.

Dinner was delicious!!!!!! Patrice (our waitress) was fabulous. She gave a detailed description of all the cuts of meat and the special of the day. Not pictured is the calamari.....omg!!!! Hands down the best calamari in the Tampa Bay area. It tastes like it was just caught and fried upon us ordering it. The dinner salad was fresh as well. The sides are large enough to share.

It's very rare that I ever go to a high end restaurant but I recently wanted to celebrate my new job and I wanted to go one of the great steakhouses Tampa has to offer. I made my reservation online several days in advance and when my friend and I checked in with the host, we were seated immediately.
If you're looking for a quick meal or in a hurry, this isn't the place to go. The ambience is beautiful and the service was excellent. This is a restaurant that you go to partly for the experience but also for the amazing steaks or seafood.
Our server Joy was great! Her presentation of the different cuts available as well as her knowledge of the menu was top notch, just like our entire meal & experience. I can't say I'll be back anytime soon (yes, it's very expensive but well worth it) but I can say that I'll unequivocally be back again someday.

This place is located right off the highway so it is very easy to spot. The place itself is very well operated. We were greeted by every employee that we passed and it made us feel very acknowledged. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and she helped us choose which cut was right for us. They gave us a little small hand sanitizer spray so that was very neat!
House Salad: It came on a chilled plate which was very cool and it was very tasty. I enjoyed it.
Bread: I usually am a big fan of restaurant bread but this one fell short because it tasted more like a cheese bread-stick than a roll.
Dry Aged Rib Eye: It was delish and cooked perfectly as requested and I can't say that about many restaurants. The portion size was huge!
New York Strip: It was cooked perfectly as well, portion was also huge.
Garlic Mashed Potatoes: It was okay, too much garlic for me.
Where it was a miss for me was that for the price I paid for both steaks and the whole dinner in general, I don't feel like I got my money's worth. The restaurant was nice and the service was perfect but I don't think I would come back but it was a great experience. I enjoyed my time there for sure. They had contact-less payment so you can view your bill and pay and then leave.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner last night at Charley's. Made reservations ahead of time and got seated right on time. Started of with delicious salads with bread. We ordered the dry aged porterhouse and rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed corn for the sides. Unfortunately, the porterhouse came out medium well, when we requested medium rare. It was quickly rectified and the manager (Patrick) and he personally delivered the new steak to the table. We had EXCELLENT, TOP NOTCH service by Mel and Delilah, when you make your reservation, be sure to ask for them both (they work together). You won't be disappointed!

By far my most favorite steakhouse in Tampa. The service is always good and consistent. They always have recommendations that provide a different experience with each visit. Cocktails are really unique if you ever want to try something out of the norm. This one had blue cheese and bacon stuffed olives. Pretty impressive wine list of course. The steaks are so flavorful and unique that we always have the taste of Charley's in mind if we visit another steakhouse. They've changed their menu a little so we had a chance to try the mushroom fondue. Listen. It. Was. Delicious!! The fondue is so good that apparently you can get it with your steak. We have been coming to this establishment over 10 years now and have yet to have bad meal or bad experience. We are loyal to Charley's, for real, for real!

My husband and I ate here for my birthday and overall the food was really good but in terms of a high end steakhouse I am not sure if I would put this in the same category as the other high-end steakhouses in the area. One thing we found funny was that they give you a birthday dessert that you don’t ask for and then end up charging you on your bill for it. If I knew I was getting a birthday dessert that I had to pay for I would not have ordered a separate dessert on top of that. We both felt that the restaurant should be more transparent in terms of it the fees and what they do for various celebrations. Mixed feelings on if we would return in the future to eat restaurant. Our server was good and very knowledgeable about the items on the menu and of course they are goal is to upsell you the experience based on certain dishes.

If you like steak, wine or seafood, this place will be heaven for you. Every bite I had of every dish was amazing with few exceptions (I'll get to that later). Starting with the drinks, the Single Barrel Smash was the only one I ordered and it was the best cocktail I may have ever had. The fruit flavors were spectacular and it had just the right amount of alcohol. I couldn't stop drinking these. The lobster bisque was delicious; creamy, tasteful and not too salty. The bacon-wrapped scallops were great and the sauce that came on the side with them really took the dish to another level. The lobster mac n cheese was awesome with a perfect blend of flavors from the cheese and lobster. Next come the meats which were the highlight of the night. I ordered the Kansas City strip steak and it was probably the best steak I've ever had, it just tasted incredible and was very tender, juicy and easy to chew. I also tried some bison that they have which also tasted great but was a bit more tender. Another meat I tried was the wagyu which was the most flavorful of the three meats I tried. It was less tender than the bison but still very soft and easily chewable. Again, the meats were just magnificent. Lastly comes dessert. I had a bite of the chocolate cake but it just had a weird flavor that I wasn't enjoying and had never really tasted before. But other people seemed to like it, so it could be a weird taste that I just happen to dislike.
Overall, the food and drinks are amazing here and if you're within 2 hours of this place, you have to go. If you have a big group, call and ask about having the wine cellar/room reserved for your party. It's a nice semi private area of the restaurant which was very enjoyable. We also received a presentation of the different cuts of meat they had, which I'm not sure individual tables in the rest of the place would get.

Do you order based on what you want, and not price? If yes, then Charley's is for you. If price is a factor, expect to carefully weigh their a la carte menu, ask questions, and possibly split an entree/side item.
Our table of 10+ was serviced by a group of servers. Ok service. I've had better (more profesh, looking to earn a good tip, vs. "expect" it). But then again, a 20% tip was auto added, no need to earn it. Take orders, carry food, refill water. Reminded me of "ballroom" service at a hotel event.
Drinks weren't listed on the supplied "dinner" menu. A cocktail menu wasn't offered. Know what you want or "ask" for a cocktail menu.
- Baskets of warm parmesan yeast rolls were VERY good. Recommended.
- Double Chicken Breast ($24): Two moist n tasty grilled breasts. Best value for a non-steak entree! Includes a small salad (very good), which is served "prior to" your entree. SO...when your entree arrives, it's just the meat w/related condiments. Care for grilled onions? Add $6. Pic is from Charley's website. Entree looked very similar.
- Fried Shrimp and Crispy Fish ($31): Really big shrimp. Nice. Fish strips were heavily battered (more bread than fish), hence the term "crispy", but were good. Included a side salad served "prior to" the entree. Overall, good, but not a "can't wait to comeback and order again" entree.
- Black Pepper Parmesan Kettle Fries ($9): Think "potato logs", like you'd find at a convenience store that sells hot food. Fried crisp, stacked high (think Jenga), w/a light sprinkle of chs/pepper. Very shareable (easily 3 or 4 ppl). High value. NOTE: The attached pic is from Charley's website (and it doesn't do the item justice). Towering spuds! For days!
- Pork Chops 1 3/4" thick ($24 sgl / $34 dbl): They ask how you want it cooked. Hmmm. Didn't think that was an option for pork, but it was grilled med/well and looked good. A thick outer band of fat seemingly wasn't cooked as long (rubbery and hard to separate from the pork). I do n-o-o-o-o-t recommend the chops (had much better elsewhere). NOTE: No pic posted on their website (hmmm, wonder why).
Others at our table ordered steaks w/a range of sides/apps. While there were no complaints, there wasn't much "vocal excitement". Overall, not a a bad experience, just not a "celebratory" destination for future events.

We started our evening off with the introduction of our waitress Georgiana, who turned the night into a total pleasure. The atmosphere was that of an old time steakhouse that you would see mobsters and politicians in, and we probably did. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops, entrees were wago filet and a regular filet, while the other couple had the “ultimate surf and turf” a 50 ounce porter house and lobster tail. All I can say is we couldn’t stop eating. Each was better than the other. Everything that came out of the kitchen was seasoned and cooked to perfection. While perfection comes at a price, it is well worth it to eat one of the best meals you will ever have. Truly perfection.

Mixed results after two visits. First visit had good food, but poor service. Second visit had mixed results on the food, but good service. Both times ended up shoved in a corner table that was a bit crowded and noisy. For the price charged, I expected more consistency in the quality of the food and the quality of the service. Took my grandmother out for dinner. I set a reservation an hour before arriving and only waited 5 minutes before being seated. We got our own room that was beautifully decorated with a window view of the garden. The service was top notch and they never slowed down or gave you time to ask for anything. As soon as your drink reached the bottom it was filled back up. As soon as your steak was set down, the steak sauce followed. They gave a very detailed description of the different cuts of steak they have, which was very helpful for my sister and brother who knew very little of steak. The food was on a completely different level than any other steakhouse I've been to. They offered a much wider variety of steak then most places would typically offer. It was a great experience for both me and my family and I couldn't even think of anything negative to say about this place

I first had Charleys in Orlando in 2017. I was blown away by the food and service so I decided to celebrate my 26th birthday here with my husband last week. We didn't have s reservation and we arrived within about an hour and a half before close. Within about 20 mins of waiting (very busy Saturday night) the hostess informed is that out table was ready. My husband who had never been to Charley’s was so amazed by the service and the quality of all of the food. We had steak and lobster mac & cheese. It was truly amazing and delicious.

If you are looking for a classic, high-end steak and chop house in Tampa, Charley's is arguably one of the best (if not the best.) From the deliciously aged steaks to their own custom blended spirits, it is what you would expect among the top rated restaurants not just in Tampa but anywhere. Started with the crab cakes, had the 21 day aged strip with Oscar topping, asparagus and baked potato fully loaded, and finished with the carrot cake. Looking forward to the next special occasion that brings me here.

This was my first visit to Charlie's Steakhouse and I have to say.... I was blown away. We have been dining at Shula's Steakhouse just down the street for over 20 years. I've always considered Shula's to be top-notch and the best steakhouse around. Shula's, in my opinion, is better than Burn's Steakhouse. Having said that, in my opinion, Shula's doesn't hold a candle to Charlie's. The service was impeccable. We were there for my nephew's 25th birthday and they made it a very special time for all of us. Everything we purchased was amazing. If I had a complaint, the only two things everyone at the table agreed on was the Bailey's coffee we ordered after dinner was mostly Bailey's. Very strong and hard to drink. No one finished their coffee. The other complaint was we were in a "wine room" and there were constant dinner interruptions of staff coming in and out of the room every 5-10 minutes getting wine for the restaurant. Other than that, the night was perfect and we've already reserved another room for July for my other nephew's birthday.

This was a great experience. This was our first time at Charley's. We dine out regularly at all different restaurants. You must dine there. It is not inexpensive but we'll worth. This restaurant is where me and my boyfriend when for our 3 year anniversary and it was beyond an amazing experience. I loved the time there due to them making us feel like royalty and important the entire time. My water glass never got less than half way down. This is one of the most amazing steak houses I’ve ever eaten at, with awesome services and an atmosphere the bleeds Tampa I highly encourage you to give Charleys a try. I had the surf & Turf which included a fillet of wagyu and beautiful lobster both cooked to perfection. Oh and did I mention the crazy good appetizers, we were a big party so lots of choices but a couple that stick out were the colossal chilled shrimp and crab plate along with a scrumptious seared ahi starter. Leave room for dessert cuz it was amazing. I hope you joy this place as much as I did !

The restaurant done an excellent job of seating and serving us I wished a remember our server name but Thank you. I love Steak! It is my favorite thing to eat. Every time I travel I find the best steakhouse and give it a try LA, SF, DC, etc. Growing up in NY i was used to top notch steakhouses! This being said my FAVORITE steakhouse I have ever eaten at happens to be right here in my adopted hometown Tampa! I freaking love Charlie's! It beats Berns(also excellent) and every other place in Tampa! Their steak has a smokey flavor I have not had anywhere else, It is out of this world. The appetizers, environment, desserts are all absolutely top notch but the star of the show is the steak! I just went there last week for my birthday and it did not disappoint yet again! If there is one knock I have with charlies is one time the waiter was a little shady. I won't get into details but he was fired on the spot and the manager made things right immediately. I have been there dozens of times since then and the service has been excellent. If you want a great great steak with a cool environment, I dont think you can beat charlies!

Always have a good steak and they'll swap it out if you don't like it, top notch.
Meaning if you want prices and quality from Logan, O-Back, Cool Hand or whatever, then you should go there. Otherwise sit relax, don't rush and eat some quality food. It's a nice place.

This is a very upscale HIGH grade Steakhouse with the food to solidify it! We were situated in the "Wine" Room. Every type of wine your heart can take. The evening was business colleagues learning, eating, and drinking in a low lit fun environment. The center cut steak medium well absolutely the BEST! The only person getting me to eat cauliflower was my grandmother. Well, 2nd Charley's. I cleaned my plate. Have never tasted Cauliflower so flavorful and fresh! The appetizer were shrimp and crab cakes. Both unmatched. Love this venue for any occasion ❤

My wife and I went here for our 10 year anniversary. We knew the place was expensive and it didn't disappoint in that front. What bothered me is that we were running short on time and told the server we really needed to go. She brought us out a small ice-cream as a congratulations for making it 10 years. The thought was very sweet. Being charged 8 dollars for an ice-cream we didn't order (on a 300 dollar bill) was off-putting.
If I was rating it purely on the merit of the food, I would probably give it a 4. Because of the constant nickel and diming I put them at a 3.

Went for our 15th Wedding Anniversary and from the moment we earned in the door they made us feel like special VIPs. First time here. We went for dinner as we were celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. the experience was great! Our servers were very attentive. The presentation of the steak cuts done by our server Rich was very instructional on helping us selecting which cut to eat. The prices are a bit high for some items. I had the Porterhouse, which I had in another restaurant in Houston, Texas and paid half the price and it tasted better. We also had the Filet Mignon, which was very tender. The cheesy dinner rolls are amazing!

From the moment we walked through the door until we left, our dining experience was exceptional. The atmosphere was lovely with our seats overlooking a garden and fountain. Employees were friendly. Our server, Patsy, was warm, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. The manager graciously came over to check on us. Our meals were delicious. We had the lemon drop martini and lemonade with vodka which were tasty. They didn't skimp on the alcohol. Finely diced olives in the salad added a nice but not overpowering zest. We split an 18 oz New York strip steak which was plentiful, well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Our sides of roasted garlic mashed potatoes and cedar plank cauliflower were enormous (enough for 4 people) and absolutely delicious. We took a shopping bag full of leftovers home! We can't wait to return with our friends and family.

I love Charley’s…if you’re in it for the food, this is the spot. Other steakhouses rely on an outdated reputation in Tampa but Charley’s is consistently excellent. Our server tonight was Brooke. Whip smart and great recommendations. What these servers have to know is impressive. And the service itself top notch. And please don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere is fine, perhaps a bit dated, but I go for the food. The wine list is well curated and has great choices at almost every price point. I tell everybody I know if you want the very best steak in Tampa or St. Pete, Charleys’s is the real deal.

The food was great, first time eating at a high end steak house. I knew going into it that prices would be expensive, but at least for items I am more familiar with from other places it seemed to be fairly priced for what you got. We went for our 6 year anniversary and the service was excellent and every staff member we had contact with wished us a happy anniversary. As for the food, we went all out, starting with the calamari and the gator bites. The calamari was nice and tender, the peppers too hot for me personally but good. The gator bites were amazing, the lemon flavor on them combined with the horseradish sauce they give you was a perfect pairing. We got the bacon and blue cheese added to one of our salads and omg you have to do that, the bacon is thick cut and delicious and the blue cheese was great (and more than enough for both of our salads). I was told by many friends I had to order the cedar plank cauliflower and it was delicious, but you do have to like cauliflower (the husband hates cauliflower so this delicious leftover is all mine). Husband got the mishima reserve wagyu and I got the dry aged ribeye (definitely could have split either one but we wanted to get to try both). Surprisingly, I loved the ribeye way more, and he loved the wagyu more. Got the truffle butter teriyaki with mushrooms added to the ribeye and it is amazing. Husband also got lobster tail, and personally I've had better but I've been to Boston numerous times. Definitely the best lobster I've had in FL, and he said it was the best he'd ever had. I also got both of their old fashioned's and they were both amazing, I love tequila and whiskey so the anejo old fashioned may not be for everyone but the presentation is amazing. I was also told I had to get the butter cake by friends, and the waiter recommended it as well, so we had tons of to go boxes already but ordered 2 butter cakes to go and when I got home and snuck a bite I could not stop at one bite, it was amazing.

If you want to celebrate a special occasion, or just wanted the great food for a job well done, this is the place. Any steak is a great idea. Any side will feed 2-3 people as a meal all by itself. If you leave here hungry,it's your own fault. Bring cash or a good credit card. It is money well spent.

Overall this is a good place but would I come back… maybe once every two to three years.
The server was very good and very attentive. He did forget a few things but fixed it immediately when we asked again. He did a good job of going over the description of all of the steaks. We ordered the filet minion, porterhouse, and the angus rib eye. The porterhouse was well seasoned and tender. The filet was also tender and did not have any fat. However, the rib eye was not juicy or tender as I like it normally. I would not order it again.
When ordering the sides, the portions are good for only 2 people. Maybe 3 if everyone only has one small serving each. We order the broccoli and they were so soft and mushy that they felll apart like when you try to pick it up with a fork. I like my broccoli with a little crunch to them.
The house salad that came with the entree was wilted and at room temperature. I am not sure if it meant to served this way. I am used to having a cold and crisp salad. Maybe it is meant for you to buy up to one of the other salads on the menu?
The calamari appetizer was delicious and cooked right. It was not over cooked. They cooked it with the right ingredients including peppers and other seasoning. Many other places just deep fried the calamari and just throw it on the plate. The bad part is that they give you such a small portion.
The place was very dark so I couldn’t really see the menu without using the phone flashlight. I would recommend making it a little brighter. It was kind of a depressing atmosphere being so dark.
Overall it is a decent steak house. For being a higher end priced steakhouse, there are other places that give you a better value and ambiance.

Good service. Had Surf and Turf for two, with the 50oz Porterhouse. Lobster was big enough for both of use. Bacon wrapped scallops were great, but$33.00 for 3 scallops was way expensive. The $6 bottle of Voss water, my fault for not asking, as opposed to tap water. At those price it would be for special occasions. The filet portion of the steak was very tender and tasty. The strip section was tasty, but not as tender. $450 for two without alcohol.

It was my sons choice to come to Charley's to celebrate his High school graduation. The service from Rich and Dan took what is normally a quality experience to incredible next level. Rich and Dan gave each person in the group personal attention which elevated their experience. The Meat presentation was educational and allowed for experimentation when normally it would be "I'll just have the NY strip". Rich and Dan made it a great night and an experience that we will all be talking about in the future!!

My husbands steak was 12 a ounce and he wanted medium rare and got medium well . And My steak was fine but lots of Grizzle. And he didn't want them to make again cause he has this fear what they will do to new steak . But they did adjust the bill 200.00 but would of liked a good steak that's why we went there so disappointed .

Entree and individual (family size) side style steakhouse, with a mean dry aged ribeye and great options overall.
Consistency is my only gripe - steak can vary from experience to experience. Wait staff is always friendly, though sometimes you get one that really wants to make you have an immersive experience, and others more standard.
Overall great steakhouse and one that you should try at least once.
They used to do a whole experience/show to help you visualize and understand the different cuts of meat, as well as a plate, an enticing one I may add, of their various desserts. If you have never been, I’d recommend you letting them give you the full treatment.

The desserts and the service were phenomenal! The steak, lobster and side dishes were mediocre at best. More specifically, the lobster was cold and chewy, and the porterhouse was incredibly tough. If you’re looking for great desserts, and wonderful service, go to Charley’s. The Wagyu tenderloin and the baked cauliflower were phenomenal. Desserts were awesome and I'd recommend the butter cake, the strawberry cake and the chocolate cake. What an exceptional evening.
