We came here for a friends birthday. This is one of her favorite places to eat but my first experience. I'm a vegetarian so had the bean nachos. The nachos were average but the desert was superb. The fried shrimp got the best reviews amongst the table. There were 8 people in our party and majority said food was good. However nothing was exceptional but the service. Our waitress was phenomenal as well as the food runners. The hostess was even a delight. They had live music this day (a Saturday) downstairs . Great place if you love seafood and enjoy the real Florida experience of dining outside by the water.

Dinner out with friends and we decided to try this place. It was late Sunday afternoon, parking lot was almost full and we were afraid that there would be a wait. Turns out, this place is Huge! We drove, but you can arrive by boat also, lots of dock space! We were seated quickly and our server, Jake (Not from State Farm), was there to take our drink order!! When he delivered our drinks we ordered appetizers and dinner. Jake has a Great sense of humor and we really enjoyed the banter back and forth! There was live music, and the drinks were Really good!! Appetizers arrived and was Very Good! Crab & Shrimp with tortilla chips and Flash fried Calamari, both Excellent!! Dinners of Key Lime Grouper, Crab Fries,Garlic Parmesan Wings, and more fish with vegetables and rice!! Really Great!! Then Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Layer Cake for dessert!! A Really Delicious Meal all around!!! Be back Very Soon!!!

First time visit for 5 of us.. Hubby got the fish and chips and I got the grouper tacos which comes with rice and beans.. both were very delicious. 1 person got the taco salad - which you have to pay to add the meat to. 👎 It was huge and looked good - but he wasn't impressed with it. Another person got steak tacos and enjoyed. Last person got a sandwich with the homemade chips - which she said were greasy. We had an appetizer of fried calamari which was yummy. 2 sodas, 1 non-alcoholic drink from the bar, and 1 shot of whiskey. The bill was 120 before tip. Live music downstairs with outside seating.. We ended up eating inside upstairs because there was 5 of us and a long wait. Overall a decent experience and I would eat here again.

Looks like a tourist place, which we like, but it has much more to offer than. The food was quick and good. There was live music (on a Tuesday night) near the outdoor dining area and we had a nice view of boats in the water, very relaxing! It is located very close to Tarpon Sponge Docks, which is also a great place to shop, eat and enjoy water activities/shows. All in all a very fun area!

Loved this Tiki Bar , the waitress was super cute, was not bothered in ever other minutes like in many other places. And especially when your eating, your mouth is full, and they come.. “ how’s your food?”🤦🏻‍♂️Yes so very cool atmosphere, and yes, the food, I asked the waitress how good is the Grouper Taco, and with sparkling eyes she said, “ You Gonna Love it!!” So yes indeed she was absolutely right! All together was perfect, the seasoning, the way the grouper was made. Taco Perfection. If you like nice people around you, welcoming people, like good quality food, yes, Make sure visit this place.

Great view, great service, great entertainment and great food. We had crab dip appetizer followed by fish and chips, ultimate fish sandwich, chicken wrap, and boneless wings. Large portions and very tasty.

Great food and great entertainment. I had the captain's seafood platter. Was so good and alot of food. On Monday's its only $27. Well worth the price. Will definitely be back again. Oh and the clam chowder was Amazing.

JOEY was our server. I find this important to mention because he really made the trip for us. He has these incredible bartender skills that resulted in my specially made spicy mango margarita(s). He killed it!!!!! His timing was on point and he was over the top nice (and awesome). I can't forget to mention how good the food was! Thanks so much!!!!!

Lunch was ok. Service was great. Ordered a Ultimate fish sandwich. The sandwich was good the homemade chips were overdone. The 1oz. Coleslaw offering for the price of the meal is horrible idea. The slaw has a great taste, just a micro serving. The FL mule was a good drink. It's up to you.

If I could rate this 100 golden stars I would. The service was fast and friendly. Olivia, our waitress, was on point with tips and recommendations and always had a smile. Coconut shrimp - 6 fat and juicy and just enough crunch shrimp with an orange marmalade sauce. So scrumptious Captains bucket - husband loved every bite. Ordered it blackened. Try the scallops with the marmalade from the coconut shrimp. Fish and chips - FLOUNDER. I mean what can I say. My favorite seafood. Cooked to a heavenly Perfection. Two pieces felt more like 4 pieces when you eat it. They were extra large. Key lime pie - it’s key lime pie, everyone serves it in florid but still was yummy. The view - the view is beautiful. Sun was setting and after dessert we caught some random fireworks being shot off in the distance. Over all- can run expensive but worth every penny. Food and service was definitely above the rest and bathrooms are clean.

Nice atmosphere with Fast service. My Mahi sandwich was delicious. Would definitely come back if I’m passing by again. The men restroom was surprisingly clean.

Yummmmmy! Great drinks, food, and atmosphere! Live music right on the water is hard to beat. When you have good food and great drinks on top, bravo. Definitely recommend trying this place. My crab legs were cooked to perfection, I have never been able to get out whole pieces from just about every leg like I did here.

Perfect waterfront restaurant/bar! Big parking lot across the side street and the place is huge and appears to be all outside, which is great! Huge bar, plenty of seating right at the water. The peel-n-eat shrimp were perfect and the fish & chips were amazing, my husband is a fish & chips aficionado and said it was some of the best and freshest ever. Definitely recommend! Jenn was our waitress and is awesome!

So close, service was amazing, great drinks, and perfect ambiance. Cobia nuggets were out of this world…. The crab bucket though was horrible - mushy crabs and old shrimp. I will go back though because of location and service….

I was recommended this place by a local and it didn't disappoint. I had a medium rare surf and turf burger so yummy and juicy and buttery and flavorful. My husband got a mahi sandwich. It was cooked skillfully and seasoned well to complement the fish. The live music provided by Chris powers was amazing. It sounded like a track made just for that restaurant. Out of Towner's I highly recommend.

Good food, they kept the AYCE shrimp flowing for my bottomless pit husband. Drinks were good, everything was a little on the expensive side but it was worth it. My only complaint was the crab legs were a little oversteamed, but still delicious.

A spot to treasure. If you in the area it's a must try. The special I ordered orange sesame glazed salmon with cucumber wasabi drizzle, didn't last long enough for a pic, but what perfectly cooked deliciousness. We also had the mako tacos, they were also perfect. A mix bucket with crab scallops muscles and potatoes, and a grouper dish. Everything was better then we anticipated. The service was top notch, and our server Nancy was awesome... I'd recommend this spot, infact I think we'll be back before we leave town.

First time here. We had the fish spread with a really good Bloody Mary and a bucket of Budlight on the water. So peaceful and calm. Made a perfect first time experience and can't wait to go back for dinner soon. Service was excellent and appetizer was delicious.

I got a recommendation from a coworker who gave me 1 of 3 seafood spots to check out. It took me an hour & 7 mins to get out here. Gotta say it was pretty good. Grouper was delicious. Just wish it were a larger cut. Service and atmosphere was pretty nice as well. Prices are good for the food you get. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Food was pretty good. Staff was helpful. Don't know why they have a no vape/cigar policy but allow smoking. There were two tables smoking near ours and kinda ruined the experience. Shrimp tacos were one of the favorite things our table had.

Dinner was great! The kids meals were priced and sized great. All our meals tasted very fresh and delicious. Our server was great, she was very fast and we never had to ask for refills. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be back with friends and family.

The atmosphere is what you would expect from a dockside restaurant. The food is a 5 out of 10, not great but not bad. Our server Cali was great, and fast with drinks. The price is a little high for what they offer, but not a bad place to check out.

Loved this Place!! It's been Forever since I've been here, but it has Definitely gotten Better!! I Love the Relaxed Atmosphere, and being on the Water is Always a Plus for Me. My friend and I did a take on the Surf & Turf idea for our Apps. We did an order of the Crabcakes (2) and the Beef Sliders (4)...both were Great, but the Beef Sliders were Exceptional in my opinion. There's Tons of parking with the Lot across the way which I so appreciate. I highly recommend Captain Jack's for the Food and Atmosphere!!

coffee wasn't the greatest but everything else was fire the shrimp bucket was more than i could eat the cocktail sauce was well made.... the coleslaw was perfect.... the french fries tasted like french fries and not like fish... the snow crab was succulent.... the muscles were a tad lacking.... the kids meals were more than both could eat..... this is a smoking restaurant.... it is all outside waterfront dining

I have been working with (Hinged Bins) for about 6 months we travel out of town frequently and eat out. This was by far the best meal experience I have had. The server (Amanda) was outstanding and the cooks were spot on. Thank you guys for making a good day even better with an excellent dining experience

Great good, music. Here is what I saw that didn’t made sense. There are 4 long tables where a family of 8 fits. The hostess place a party of 2 on each of the two long tables. In the restaurant business, this is a big no no. Lack of distribution. We wanted to sit by the music but due to this, we had to sit way in the back

A great Tarpon Springs area seafood restaurant on the water! Captn Jacks has been my go to place for oysters for several years. Everything on the menu is fresh and prepared to order. The only downside is that there is no Tabasco sauce at the captn's bar. The oysters are definitely some of the best in the area in regards to being absolutely fresh and consistent in size.

Oh my gosh what an awesome time was had at Captain Jacks! Covid conscious practices in place. Quickly seated. Wonderful live music. Excellent service by our beautiful server Katie. She went above & beyond & even searched for ear plugs for an elderly member in our group. I had the blackened grouper sandwich & it was divine. Other members of the group had the salmon dinner plate & the lobster roll & we all went on & on about how fresh & delicious our food was! We even signed up for the frequent visitors club, we will absolutely be back! Thank you Captain Jacks for a beautiful time & smiley memories made 💖

No host at the stand and no one told us where we could sit. Very strange set up. We went upstairs and the server let us sit in her section, she was amazing!! We got fish dip, key lime grouper, ultimate fish sandwich, blackened shrimp, seared ahi tuna, and the fried shrimp/scallop/fish basket. Food was pretty good, blackened shrimp was really salt and the grouper was a little over cooked. Ahi tuna was great but smaller portion than expected for the price. The server really made the experience for us- she was great. Came out to ~ $200 for 5 people w/o the alcohol.

Driven past this place so many times but finally stopped in for lunch...and glad we did! Our experience was perfected by AMAZING service from our server Stephanie and our food delivery by Taylor. I think this is the first time we have ever been blown away by the person delivering food (they normally just drop it and we wait for the server to ask if we need anything), he was an excellent compliment to the overall great service we received. Now on to the food...pretty typical waterfront choices of seafood and other staples of sandwiches and wings. We started with the ahi tuna appetizer which was cooked perfectly. For entrées we had the cheesesteak and chicken wrap. Cheesesteak looked a bit thin on meat but tasted good and the chips were surprisingly delicious. Substituted blackened chicken in the wrap (pro move) and had cole slaw as a side...both were decent. What earned Capt'n Jack's 5 stars were the service and location. The food was good but without the service it would not have scored as high. Definitely will be back with the boat!

The ambiance is great, it’s on the water and the outside seating area is big. The food was average at best. We had the conch fritters which were pretty much hush puppies with a tiny bit of conch. The grouper sandwich was one of the worst I’ve had. With that being said, this is a good place for drinks and scenery

A really nice seacoast restaurant. If you are looking for some great tasting seafood with live entertainment, this is the place to go. I had the Shrimp Tacos dish, my husband had the Crab Legs and everything was tasty. Highly recommend.

This is a super casual, fun and comfortable place to both sit and drink. Live entertainment some nights and the food is pretty good. I have been here several times and sunsets are special! It's so nice to have a place that you can go in T shirts, shorts and flip flops. They have a huge outdoor deck and outdoor tiki bar which is completely covered. Also very convenient to pull up by boat and dock for a meal.

Excellent service, the waiter was very attentive and nice, our food came out fast, I try for the first time the mango mojito and it was good, i ordered the coconut shrimp bucket and i really enjoyed it, the only thing i would change is the side, which was a bunch of French fries, I would prefer rice and fresh salad, my husband got the captain's platter, which had a good variety and he said the plate was decent for the price.

Fantastic experience! We read the reviews before we arrived and when we were seated our server was Jake. I had just got done reading a review from someone else a month ago who had him s well and the review they gave both the restaurant and Jake were spot on. He had a great attitude, very friendly, knowledgeable of the food and drink menu. The atmosphere and the staff were all great. Live music, wonderful view, staff were all smiles and happy like they were a tight knit family. They had mako shark on the menu which surprised me since we went for the calamari and grouper. Enjoyed the atmosphere. We chose to sit inside versus outside. Food and service took a bit but they were definitely busy. Drinks were tasty and priced well. I have enjoyed this tiki bar restaurant each time I go. There is a Key West feel on the water. The tiki bar specialty drinks keep the chatter and laughter buzzing while the numerous items on the menu keeps the tummies full. The fried conch is my favorite appetizer followed by the crab cakes. There are raw oysters if your into that. Salad, fish entrees comprise much of the menu and the fish tacos featuring 4 to 5 different fish are excellent choices. The prices are appropriate for the type and generous portion sizes. It can be loud with live bands on the weekends but it is like a big party for all. Parking is adequate with an overflow lot. The wait staff are courteous even when it is busy and crowded. My one complaint is the key lime pie was terrible. I guess I assumed that dessert especially would be excellent and for the price I expected more. But all in all what a great place to get away a forget all of your worries!

Wow! Amazing food! Me, my wife and our 3 yr old drove down from ky today and decided on seafood since we're on the gulf. After checking Google reviews we decided on Captain Jack's. We were all very satisfied. After recommendations by our waiter Jake(happy 44th birthday Jake ) , I had the ultimate flounder sandwich, which I could only eat half and my wife and our 3 yr old shared a captain's platter. Both were very delicious. We will be back next year

Today went to Capt jacks in tarpon after yrs. Of not returning to them due to prior visitation where everything was a horrible experience, however we returned with willing to give a once awesome place another chance!! Let me tell you wife ordered snow crab and was fabulous. We had appetizers a band started to play ocean music,regaae just perfect ocean sounds to enjoy. Our server RICHARD was the perfect on time there at the right time I could see him checking on us from a distance making sure we were good was super professional all the time. Made suggestions,new his product what he was offering and how it could be prepared or not and showed a one on one type of attentiveness giving u his fullest undivided attention to make sure you were always💯. We stayed for a few extra to take in the music and delicious food we just devored and order one last round of drinks at that time RICHARD took the time to tell us about him self and our service to our country as well as he loved to serve people in general...I recommend him to everyone who goes there and sir Richard you you will see mike -n Tiffany again....thank you and Capt jacks for an amazing experience

We went after being on the water all day and drive up seeing all yhe cars we thought wow were not getting in. Well yhey had lots of seats left and asked if we wanted by the water. So we were able to sit by the water. Our server (can't remember his name) came right over to get our drink orders and see if we had any questions. He was extremely polite the entire time and always made sure we were not in need of anything. We had blackened grouper, peel and eat shrimp cold, and he suggested the shark bites. All a great choice. The shrimp were fresh. Had not had that from a restaurant in a long time. Restrooms were very clean. Definitely a go back to place.

This is a great setting right on the river overlooking the water.📍 The service is great and they have some cold drinks🍺🍸🍹. The food is basic bar food. If you are out on your boat you can stop in and dock while you eat and drink. It's pretty cool to bring out of town guests for lunch or dinner via the water. That is an experience they will remember. There is a large parking lot if you come by car and bike parking right by the downstairs bar. AK tip: happy hour beers 🍺and a plate of nachos and sit just inside the deck during the day or under an umbrella ⛱️in the evening as the sun sets. Bring some friends and make your own adventure. Great little casual seafood restaurant on the water. Four of us tried various appetizers, crab fries (fabulous), calamari , coconut shrimp (light batter, not greasy on both), peel and eat shrimp (yummy). I had the Mako shark blackened taco. Very good since I've never had shark. Not fishy. Great drinks specials. Will go back! Very friendly staff. Weekends are jammed so plan on a wait or go around 2pm.

This is one of my qife and I'm new favorite places! Our server Rich was incredible and very kind but also very energetic. Their beer selection is very good. The menu had a lot of interesting items such as shark bites and tacos. We ended up getting blackened grouper sandwiches. We will be returning here again. The ambience is incredible and it was fin being right by the water. They also have live music.

Tried at Morgan Mae's, but their advert of being open at 11 was incorrect; they opened at 3. So, we went a little farther north to another restaurant we want to try, Captn Jack's. We were not disappointed. Started with 2 crabcakes chock full of crab. Grilled to perfection, just the right amount of spices. And with a proper crabcake, you should be able to see, and TASTE the crab, which we could. Followed with a shrimp boil and blackened shrimp. All I can say is "oh my word". Absolutely amazing. My only problem was to remove the shrimp from the heat 2 minutes sooner, they finish cooking on the way to the table. Food was amazing, service and ambience outstanding. We WILL be back.

The food here is pretty decent and they have a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. I recommend trying the mixed drink buckets. I've only been here a few times, but they've had live music every time. They staff is friendly and the decor is good. They used to have a big Jaws head out front that you could go into for pictures and a big wrecked boat across from it. Not sure why they got rid of them, but the were awesome decorations and the please doesn't look nearly as cool without them. It's on the water right next to a Marina, so the view from inside the bar is nice. I don't know if this is just me, but I get bitten by noseeums no matter what time of day I go here (they're really bad at dusk, obviously). Nothing a little bug spray can't fix though.

I'm a snowbird and away from the area in the summertime so when I got down to Florida the first thing I wanted to do was go to Captain Jack's for fried oysters. Oh my God they're not on the menu anymore! I settled on the mahi fish wrap which was still good but I sure miss my oysters. My husband had his usual shrimp quesadilla so he was very happy. Please bring back the fried oyster platter. Sorry, I had to mention that three times. lol. 😎

Captain Jack’s never disappoints. Took some friends there from out of town for dinner tonight. The staff is always friendly and entertaining. Our waitress was awesome. Live music on the deck dining outside in great weather with beautiful view of the river is the best. My buddy really enjoyed the mako shark special, his wife had the key lime grouper which looked amazing, and I had the grilled grouper tacos which is always amazing. The quality of the food and attention to detail is always top notch. I highly recommend Captain Jacks and can’t wait to go back.

I have driven by several times but this was the first time I have eaten at Captain Jack’s. Although the service was great and the waitress was exceptionalI I was disappointed in the meal that I chose. I ordered the Keylime grouper which was ridiculously expensive for the size of grouper that they served. Usually when I get grouper it’s a thicker cut of fish almost like a mini steak and this was sliced so paperthin that I couldn’t even taste the fish with all the stuff on top of it, definitely not worth the money. Some other people in the group got the tacos and they looked like they would have been a much better choice I guess it was just a wrong choice on my part. Never had a grouper sliced so thin

Maybe generous, but nice view & outdoor tiki bar area. I ordered the Grouper Fingers. They're massive....no one has fingers this size unless they've been run over by something really heavy. Pretty much the size of little fish fillets. Also, be prepared if you order anything fried. The breading is thicker than the fish itself. I performed Grouper finger surgery, & extracted the fish sans breading. It seemed fresh'ish. No, I wouldn't order it again. Although this place shows up on Untappd, the beer selection is sparse. Two craft beers on draft & none in bottles. Since Goose Island has been bought out by a mega brewery, kind of hard to even count it as craft & definitely isn't local. With so many local breweries in the area, they need to get with the beer scene. Oh well. Nice view, but Florida has plenty of those.

All I can say is WOW! Food was delicious best sea food around nothing with heavy breading just like how sea food it is supposed to be! Love the shark steak with mixed veggies, it was absolutely delicious and my husband had the hurricane bucket boy oh boy it was full of all kinds of mixed yummy sea food and some corn and potato’s. This is the place to come when you want to eat some good sea food but trust me we seen other peoples plates and they had some other delicious food and soooo much of it. Price is very affordable nothing like other places around here just crazy how much some of these places charge for very little food very disappointing in that. But Captain Jack is a Definitely a must visit. Oh parking is great no problem at all to find a spot for your vehicle. Waitress was very friendly and helpful with helping us picking out the best dish for our buck. Very happy with this place definitely recommend this place ❤️

Went to lunch with my wife and grandson, and had a wonderful time. Food was extremely good, especially the smoked fish spread, but followed extremely closely by the blackened grouper tacos. We sat at the waterfront, and watched the boats going in and out of the marina next door, and really had a great experience. While an informal setting, the service is great, with very friendly servers happy to make any substitutions we requested, and made sure our drinks were supplied before we even had to ask. Been here many times, and never really had a bad experience. Definitely one of my local favorites.

Not very impressed. Decided to go here even tho it looks like a run down hotel with a lot of storage rooms. Outside was pretty dirty but we always see this place packed so I had to see why. Tons of outside seating next to a tiki bar on the water, so that was a plus. We requested a table inside and was brought up to an enclosed room that resembled a trailer park community room. Not a plus! To wrap this up, we ordered the crab fries for an app, which were pretty good, dinner consisted of fish and chips but I have to say didn't really include much fish. Hush puppies were really good but that had to be the highlight of my meal. I lie, the wonderful, tall man who brought us our food was LOVELY! Way better than our server. Some meals were $49 and served with a drink in a plastic cup??? Won't go again

Used to be really good food but lately the quality really is getting pretty poor. Service is okay only reason they are getting a three. Fries we ordered were cold as ice and sauce on one of our meals tasted like it had turned bad they did replace it but my opinion is that should have been right the first time. Who wants to wait for a replacement while the rest of the party eats then they have to wait on you...part of going out us to enjoy a meal together and good company you are with.

Super nice people. The rain came mid dinner and the thatched roof leaked all over our food. Which was amazing before the water leaked all over it. Still paid the more than $100 check for the 3 of us. We considered it an adventure for my 83 year old mother's birthday. The best part - another customer got a towel and gave it to my mom to help her. Will be checking the weather before we go back.

They need to bring back their old taco salad! We ordered the nachos to share and then taco salad. It's changed, and not for the better. It was pretty much another plate of nachos, chips with the toppings and some mixed greens thrown in. The old one was served in a huge fried tortilla shell, had piles of crisp cold green lettuce and all the toppings.

This place is so amazing and worth every penny spent. The view is already so beautiful and gorgeous. The food is in another level. Starting with the veggies they served, they had such a taste that I could of asked for a whole bowl of them. The shrimp is cooked to a perfection! They were juicy and had mixed seasoning on the breading, that it was to die for. Let's not forget about the crab legs. They season the crab to a tee. Them if you glide the meat across the crab shell...wow wow wow!! Five stars, all around!

Relaxing Atmosphere & Nice Menu Selections. We were pleasantly surprised to hear about a drink special from other people waiting for a table.( ?? happy hour it was around 3:30) This place is big & busy but we only had to wait a quick 10 minutes for a table near the water with a beautiful ! They have lots to offer on the menu but we came just for oysters & cocktails. Both were very good. It would be nice to return for a full meal. The service was slow at times.

I've been there a few times and usually I've had a great time...food was decent. today, an older woman who was our waitress gave me attitude and looked and me sideways all because I asked to be reseated due to the lack of space... It was a 4 person table I was seated at that had an extra chair on the side for my brother.. I had my wife and 2 children as well So I felt I didn't have enough space.. she then gave my wife an attitude and we decided that was enough and left... The manager saw the whole thing and did nothing... I won't be going there again..

We came for lunch on a beautiful day. Couldn't get a better place to enjoy the waterfront scenery and the great weather. But didn't know how the food would be. We were so impressed with the food. We all had something a little different to eat. Everybody raved about their dishes. Freshly cooked and delicious! Prices very reasonable too. Tim, our server was top notch, food and drinks, he didn't miss a beat. if you're going out to eat, lunch or dinner, well worth the money, excellent food, great service, completely enjoyable exoerirnce. You won't go wrong here.

Although the entrees came out one minute after the appetizers and were completely cold everything tasted good. Was offered the opportunity to send it back but I don't do that clearly the kitchen was busy. The waitress wasn't attentive at all had to flag her down for another drink. Drinks were made well and the manager was quite nice and had great customer service.

To the manager: I live about 5 minutes from Jack's and I will be back many times again! It's my usual hangout with my friends. The 4 stars is only the food, because sometimes it can be hit or miss. The fish and chips I had for the first time last weekend and they are AMAZING! It's been over a year since I was there (for obvious reasons) and if that is the way the food has changed. I will make this a normal stop for eats as well as beer at the bar!

The greeter gentleman was a gentleman and a scholar he found us a table on the water only having to wait about 5 minutes there were seats at the bar but customers have pulled their stools out so far that you couldn't actually access the empty stools and they were on a blodging on moving but he took good care of us the food was amazing and of course the atmosphere was great it's fun to watch the boats try to pull in and out of the very very tiny access area an experienced drivers especially entertainment food and a view

My husband and I had dinner there tonight for the first time and we truly enjoyed it! Niki was our sever and she was great and very attentive even tho she had a lot going on!! We had heard a lot of negativity about the food and we are so glad we didn't listen to it! The food was perfect!! I had the fried shrimp dinner with perfectly cooked veggies and my husband has now found a new favorite fried grouper sandwich (he is not easy to please!!)...the mix drinks were alright nothing really special that surrounding restaurants didn't already have but they were made just right so can't complain...they also had a one man band who we enjoyed listening to he took all kinds of request and preformed a wide range of different songs...all in all we enjoyed it and we will be back!! And I heard it's under new management maybe that's why we had such a great experience!

While the following applied a year ago, we went today and they are NOT ENFORCING masks! Not safe. Very disappointed. This is one of our favorite little runaway places to go for good food great atmosphere and we love sitting by the water and the boats. It's very peaceful we've tried several other places along the coastline in this one seems to be our favorite. The food is great the service is beyond compare and the prices are also excellent. Love the fish and chips. Hush puppies are tiny but their very good. Substitute the fries for hush puppies. Fries taste like their still frozen. But slightly warm still. The fish tastes amazing! Keep up the good work captain!

Great live music. Went on a beautiful Sunday and sat outside. The hostess team was any in season so that we did not have to wait too long but also so that the kitchen was not overwhelmed and took too long with food. The owner got a little offended when I asked and stated " well maam, they are steamed". Ive had plenty of crab in my life and never had that amount of meat in a whole cluster. I have been here several times each time experienced horrible service and okay food. 2-5-2021 the service was outstanding, crab cakes were delicious. Ive always loved this place. Today though I am kind of disappointed with them. We called ahead of time and asked specifically if we could bring our dog we were told yes. We get there, our pup is all excited and we were turned away. I’m disappointed with them because they could’ve been honest. Don’t tell us our dog is welcomed then make us leave when we get there, what a waste of time & gas. We come here at least once a week, and even brought family & friends with us but after today we will not be returning, not because they don’t allow dogs (even though we watch people bring their dogs off the boats with them) but because of the dishonesty. Why would you tell us yes bring your dog then refuse service?

Nice waterfront place to grab food and drinks. Sat outside and there's a marina so it's nice to see the boats etc. Service was good. If you are looking for an all around Good place you should try Captain Jack's. Not pet friendly even though they have a large outside deck.

I've been dying to go here for about 5 years now, not that I love far away just no time. Well, finally got there this passed Tuesday for dinner... 3 of us got the all you can eat shrimp special on Tuesdays... Great, fresh and service was acceptable... The original portion was fantastic! But like the "all you can eat" places any additional portions didn't take very long but very skimpy on the amount... But I have to say that they were freshly prepared and piping hot! If the "Captain" reads this maybe you can spare a few more shrimp on the reorders! We'll be back but I'm going to order double every time or keep the servers running! I'm an excellent tipper! Update: notice that I've changed my 4 stars to 5! It's a great business practice to reply to you customers reviews! Thank you for taking the time to reply, Scott! Great location and atmosphere right on the water in Tarpon Springs. Food is awesome, a tad bit pricey though. They make great drinks. Most weekends they have live music. Smoking is permitted in the downstairs tiki bar and outside dock seating. They do have upstairs indoor seating as well. We go regularly and haven't been disappointed yet. Always a good time and good meal.

I tried the Philly sandwich here on a family dinner, and it was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've had! My whole family enjoyed their meals highly, and I would most definitely recommend! The menus are sticky and the food is fried... There's decent salad here.... Pretty comfortable place to sit and look at the water though so the Ambiance is good and the music is fair most of the time at least they have live music which is a good thing... I've probably ate here over 20 times I don't think anybody knows how to cook here.... So if you keep your food expectations low and enjoy the scenery you will be happy. Have a rum punch and you're good to go

The location is fantastic. We pull up our boat and dock (free, I might add) and enjoy some post island hopping rest and relaxation. It has a very "Beachy" feel. The food is good, but overpriced for the amount received. The ambiance is great since waterside dining is available. The price I payed for the four of us, we could have gone to a really nice restaurant. We had the conch fritters, a salad, shrimp, fish n chips, a sandwich and a piece of Key Lime Pie. Not much for $20 a person! The blond waitress totally ignored me. I have never had a waitress or waiter do that and I am an older lady. Even my 20 year old twins stated that they were surprised that she ignored me. Even when I told her I would take the check when you could get it, she gave it to the man at the table. I have worked in customer service for many years and I always tip 20% or higher. Today I struggled to give her a 10% tip and as I said before we had a high bill. We went to Capt Jacks for Fathers Day. It wasn't a very enjoyable time with the poor service. I don't know that we will be back and will let our friends and family know how expensive and how low the customer service is. Sorry, I usually give only good reviews but this meal was really very sad.

My fiance had all you can eat fish and chips. We felt like we were in our own private restaurant cause we were the only ones at the restaurant.
