Reviews of Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria
We really enjoyed dinner at Bavaro's. Started with oysters from the wood oven - recommend these! Prosciutto was a thicker cut, still good - but I prefer the paper thin slices. Pizza and pasta were great, love authentic wood fired Italian pizza. Note, pizza fungi - the mushrooms are sauteed - very good, but different. The homemade tagliatelle with shrimp added was excellent. All the staff were a pleasure.
Enjoyed a delightful lunch on a recent trip to Tampa. We actually stumbled upon Bavaro's and decided to give it a shot and we were glad we did...
We started with their signature Wood fired Garlicbread...it was incredible!! Then our lunch size portions the most delicious pasta dish arrived. I cant remember the name but it was a mushroom, truffle oil, chicken, creamy bowl of loveliness.
Drinks were refilled promptly and our server was attentive.
Absolutely recommend you give this gem a visit when you roll into town.
Nice little cozy restaurant with a lot of flavor on their food and a great customer service. We tried for our first time, love it. We moved to FL not to long ago and this is the second place that we can say, we love the pizza 😍 😋 and their pizza sauce.
Good Italian food! Definitely try to make a reservation ahead, since it gets busy. The Google app made it easy to schedule and choose a time. The staff was friendly and attentive as well! We had the margarita pizza and the spaghetti; the pizza was fluffy and tasty with a little bit of char that you can really taste that it’s the wood fired and the spaghetti was a large portion with good flavor.
Had dinner here with my daughter. I had the rigatoni dish, it was delicious! Our waiter did a very good job, greeting us, getting our beverage & food order. He answered all my questions about my food choices. Friendly, casual atmosphere, it was a good choice after the work day. I would recommend this to others.
First-timers in this restaurant came from the recommendation of my sister-in-law.
We had a reservation, which was honored.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and family-friendly, WE LOVE IT. We had a small problem with the table, (it was not leveled). But our waitress helped us resolve the inconvenience.
As an appetizer; we ordered Oysters with melted Parmesan cheese. THEY WERE DELICIOUS.
To share, we ordered a Margarita pizza and Home - Made Ravioli Al Formaggio.
The Margherita pizza was wonderful, with a lovely hint of wood. Being originally from New York, we are fans of pizzas. Honestly, this is one of the best we have tried so far here in Tampa. The cheese (di Bufala), which we added, was very good, with the perfect sauce/crust/cheese ratio. The crust of the pizza had a phenomenal burned look that we really enjoy.
We will eat this pizza again.
The ravioli dough was a little thick for my taste. The portion of cheese could have been better as well. But the star of this dish WAS THE SAUCE. The house sauce (Vodka) was simply masterful. The next time we come back, we want to try a pizza with this sauce.
For dessert, we ordered Nutella pizza. To be honest, it was perfect. The ratio of Nutella and the crust of the pizza was the right one.
We'll be returning to this restaurant in the near future.
Ps. I wish I could've give 3.5 stars.
It was the weekend before my husband's birthday and we had tickets to Tampa Theater. We had always wanted to try Bravaros. We were not disappointed! Very cute little pizzeria, great service, beyond delicious pizza. Perfect. Still thinking about the cannolis! Highly recommend.
Delicious! We tried the ricotta meatballs, Ravioli al Formaggio and Rigatoni al Funghi.
WOW! It’s on our top italian restaurants EVER!
Staff is very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat oudoors because there was nice weather
Best Italian pizza in downtown Tampa. Handmade with fresh ingredients. Really relaxing setting with neat decor and brick wall. Sitting at the bar was a treat with a front row seat to the coal fire process. Staff and food was wonderful start to finish. You have to get the Tiramisu for dessert. - Caleb Lane | REALTOR®

I was visiting tampa and stop by. Glad I did cause had a delicious dinner. Food was delicious, loved everything; specially the 4th of July Cannolo. Service was very good, my waitress was excellent; I have absolutely no complain.
We recently moved here and as someone who is VERY picky about penne alla vodka and makes their own, this was the best I’ve had at a restaurant in so long. Some places just throw pancetta in as an afterthought but theirs is cooked in properly for flavor with the perfect amount of cream. It’s the ideal base vodka sauce to add some crushed red pepper to and I’m so glad to finally have one like this close to me! My boyfriend got one of the pizzas which he loved, and the wine was delicious with the option for a bigger pour. And consistent when ordering takeout! *Chef’s kiss
Little too loud for you to have a conversation without having your party guest repeat themselves. We enjoyed the food and the service. Enjoyable.
Oh Please! The Place is OUTSTANDING, our server was the kindness human we've met in a long time! Everything from appetizers to the Dinner Pasta! Will be coming back!
Running a restaurant is hard, customers are fickle and occasionally ill mannered, but some restaurants get it right and quietly and efficiently provide all the ingredients that make for an enjoyable evening. Bavaro’s downtown Tampa was such a place last Friday. Checking in was easy and the hostess graciously allowed us to change to a vacant table outdoors since it wasn’t raining. Our server Jess W was knowledgeable and efficient and the food was delicious. My wife and I shared charcuterie board with a delicious mix of cheese and meats. She drank a Rose and I a Pinot Grigio. We then shared a delightful Prosciutto pizza and a Montepulciano and ended with Gelato. All were delicious. Our total bill before tip was $100. Money well spent.
Fun place to stop by for a pizza. Seating is limited. Beer and wine available. Pizza ingredients are fresh and tasty. Friendly service.
We went to Tampa downtown for Friday night and was looking for the dinner place and came through Bavaro's Pizza. It was full as being the Friday evening but we didn't have to wait much for the table. We were greeted by our server with menu and water. After discussions we decided to order Avocado Bruschetta, Funghi Pizza and Pasta alla Crema. We got our Pizza and avocado first. The pizza was tasty and amazing. The avocado was also delicious. We both loved pizza and avocado. After waiting for 5-10 minutes more we got our Pasta. Pasta was also delicious. But we loved pizza and avocado more. Amazing food with electric atmosphere made our Friday evening successful.
Very nice Italian restaurant. Had a pasta, garlic bread and a pizza. The pizza was wood fired and so was garlic bread. The pasta felt like was 98% cooked but the sauce was amazing so I’ll let that cover it off. Decent service and a good sized menu for the size of it.
Gotta be the best pizza in Tampa...I don't actually know but it's really great. Staff is friendly, service is great, atmosphere is romantic and relaxed. Eat here.
Great spot! Friendly staff and awesome food. A little small inside so be sure to call ahead if you have a big group.
We wanted to visit Eddie’s pizza but they were closed. Still in the mood for pizza, we tried this place and the pizza was really good. All the ingredients were fresh. The young lady who served us was friendly and very gave great menu options. She kept checking on us to see how we were enjoying. Next time I will try the pasta.
Great pizza and salad! The shrimp was especially good. It was very crowded but the service was quick and attentive.
It was a hot evening at 9:30pm when our party of five arrived for our reservation, so we were happy with the AC inside. Our table had a "Reserved" sign on it and was right next to the front all-glass wall. It was a good spot for looking around both the restaurant and what was going on outside. There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk. I had to look at the menu on someone else's phone, because my phone cannot read the square barcode things and we were not offered real menus. The food didn't take too long. I ordered Tre-Carne Pizza, which was good but nothing to write home about. At least it was better than pizza I had in Italy. Google this place and it has $$ for the prices, but our bill was $90 with tip for five people with no desert and no alcohol. I would change that to $$$. The pizza oven is very cool looking.
The food there just amazing and fresh! Really love the meatballs and mozzarella panini with the antico pomodoro sauce! I will come back for it if I’m around for sure! The service also great, they are nice and quick.
Cozy ambiance. Was able to sit at the bar and Dominic was able to help me through ordering food and suggested a dish. Quick service and the pasta was delicious! Got dessert and the tiramisu was a wonderful experience!
I'm not going to forsake this place, because the service was excellent and the idea of how quality this place is, really does it for me. But the pizza was mega-soggy in the middle to the point where I gave up eating after a few slices and gave the rest away to a homeless person. The amount of minced garlic was staggering. But the dough was really good, the idea of wood fired trattoria/rustic, was great. I'd get it overcooked next time, or something.
Directly to the review without inflating words. The live music was great and never expected on a Monday night. Extremely cozy place with indoor and outdoor clean area. The professional staff will ensure you have a great experience. The food…the food is the best with original flavors with the right price. Definitely recommended and dream to come back!!!
This was my first time dining at Bavaros, it certainly won’t be the last. Excellent food and service. Maria was our server, very attentive and sweet! She gave me and my family great suggestions and definitely made our experience more enjoyable. Overall, great restaurant.
Just landed in Tampa from Texas and decided on this place. Was not disappointed! The most authentic Italian food I’ve ever had. Everything from the garlic bread to the oysters were absolutely perfect. Service was top notch as well. Highly recommend.
Wood oven pizza is delicious. Everything we tried was good. The atmosphere is chilled and cozy. Didn't wait long to be served. I would go again for the pizza
Great service, food mediocre
We ate dinner here while visiting Tampa. We ordered the ravioli and mushrooms and vegetarian pizza and tiramisu. Everything was average. Nothing to write home about. The service was exceptional though. Lots of veggie options.
I picked up my first order from Bravaro’s tonight. The food was quickly and carefully prepared. The pizza was delicious with the hint of basil. We also enjoyed the garlic bread, which was lighter than what I’m used to but delicious. My favorite item was the Nutella pizza. If you like Nutella, this pizza is for you! If you love Nutella it may blow your socks off!
Very conveniently located down town. Cute inside. I got the burrata salad and the American pie. Both were great. The pesto sauce that came the burrata was amazing. For more of my recs follow my ig @eatingwithkristy
Service was excellent and the food outstanding. Would highly recommend and will dine here again. Pasta and pizza were tasty, fresh, and authentic.
My husband and I were in Tampa in 2020 for a few days and ate here twice because it is sooooo delicious. Now we are hooked on their pomodoro sauce. I order it from Amazon all of the time, but lately they have been having supply issues so its not available sometimes. I ordered some again recently and received a package this weekend with jars of Pomodoro, arrabiata and marinara. The package also had a HAND WRITTEN NOTE apologizing for the delay. She said they wanted to send me something instead of cancelling my order so they sent me the above. She said once they had the pomodoro, they would complete my order. I was blown away. I absolutely love this place!! Awesome food and customer service!! Highly recommend!
Outstanding food and staff! This was my first time eating here but I would go back in a minute. Portion sizes were amazing and all the food was fresh. The best part was the pizza. It had a super thin crust that was coated in the most amazing sauce and fresh cheeses. Absolutely delicious!
Great Food and service. Had the charcuterie board and both the Americana and Diavola Pizzas. Everything tasted great (one of the best Napoli styles pizzas we have had in the area). Good Services and prices.
The best penne allá vodka and Tiramisu in the area! It has in door and out door seating. Very friendly staff. A great down town location for delicious Italian food.
I love the pizza here! Some of the best napoletano style in Tampa. Always delicious if you join their loyalty program you get excellent deals and coupons text "loyalty" to 42828. They have a beautiful wood fire oven everything is made fresh. La vita della cucina Italiana.
this is the real thing if you are looking for a real Italian Neapolitan pizza. (stupid expensive for what it cost to make it.)
This place is so amazing. I love their Margarita Pizza, and Rigatoni Funghi pasta! My favorite place in Tampa.
I’ve been to many of Downtown Tampa’s Italian restaurants, but Bavarro’s is my favorite. Besides the absolutely delicious food and wine selection, I adore the ambiance and staff. Thank you to the GM Gary who made our visit this evening extra special, who genuinely loves this restaurant and the people who find their way in. I’ve also had Anthony, a true Roman, twice as a server and he is fantastic at what he does. Anthony is also incredibly kind for humoring my poor Italian! Lastly, I appreciated all the hostesses and the young Turkish man making pies all evening. A truly wonderful experience, the people and food are why I keep coming back.
I've been on an Italian kick lately! We both liked the food a lot, especially the margherita pizza, which tasted straight from Napoli itself!
Visited for a high school graduation dinner. Nice location in downtown Tampa. Small cozy place but enough room for our party of six and for another party of eight and a few other tables for couples. A small bar to sit at and a few tables for outdoor dining.
Wait staff friendly enough but not completely knowledgeable about the menu. Not very intuitive. No special treatment or even a congratulations for the special occasion even though we brought in balloons and party favors.
The food generally gets good reviews and was good. However as a person that can cook, my personal opinion is that it is overrated. Very basic for the money. But I can see how many others can appreciate it.
I would not return, but do recommend it for the ambiance and some ok Italian fare. In the area options exist for better Italian food.
Very very good wood-fired Pizza. Homemade ravioli. I watched pizza being made in minutes. The arrabiata sauce was perfectly spicy.
Pizza first here!
So if you are in this part of the world, you probably came for Eddy and Sam's pizza right around the corner. I did and have forever... so somehow I ended up here and was not disappointed! E&S was closed, but the pizza here is much closer to real Italian pizza and very flavorful. I'm glad I found it, everything was good... and I am very picky about scratch made cannolis!! They didnt have the tiramisu... I am told it's worth coming back for, and I will!! 😁 Enjoy!
Great pizza. Real pizza. I've been to 3 of their locations and it's always great. I wish they'd open one in Odessa. Our server was great too!
Locally owned, authentic Italian food. Amazing food, friendly staff.
Had a very nice dinner here. Pizza was great and it was fun watching them being made. I had the meatball appetizer, too. Looking forward to coming back.
I LOVE this place, this weekend my husband and I had dinner here and we just enjoyed the food and the quiet atmosphere! The bruschetta was delicious! And the ravioli was so good!! The sauce was super creamy!! 10/10!!!
Food was delicious and service was amazing!
Loved the place, the service was excellent and the food was great too! It's right in the center of Downtown Tampa, and the skyline seemed gorgeous at night 🧡
Be sure to make a reservation, it seems like it gets full if you want to dine inside, the weather was nice so we sat outside :)
*EDITED after a revisit from my last poor review. So after a long boycott my friend said we should give them another try and be more specific with our request, so I did. I have since been informed their style of pizza is a fork and knife kind of pizza because it's "delicate" in the center..... Meaning less cooked. We sat at the bar where we could see and speak to the gentleman making the pizzas. I let him know that I wanted as well done and as crispy as possible. He feared of burning the outer edges which IS very easy to do at those temps.... And quickly if not paying attention. I let him know that I prefer my toast burnt a little so I am way OK with the pizza edges a little burnt. While the center was still not where I'd prefer it, it was in fact much better than my last visit. The flavors were never in question as they are always very flavorful pizzas. If they can make it this way for me personally every visit, I will be back. Thank you for taking the time to make my pizza more to my liking.
Nice little pizza shop in downtown tampa. Parking can be a hassle since the business has no parking of it's own. Pasta was good but the pizza was below average. You may not find seats of you don't have reservations. We sat at the bar but I'm glad we did because we had a nice view of the oven.
Was downtown at Hidden Springs with our friends, kids, and dogs and needed a place for dinner to accommodate all of us. We happened to stumble upon this place by google searching and wow we loved everything. The pizza was absolutely amazing probably the second best crust I’ve ever had, certainly the best I’ve had in Florida and I’ve lived here for 40 years.
We had heirloom bruschetta (amazing), Diavalo & Funghi pizzas (Diavalo was my favorite), cannolis which were delicious and a Nutella dessert for the kids. The food and drinks were all so good!!
The dogs and kids were comfortable sitting outside since the seating is in the shade provided by the high rise during peak hours that you’d normally get blasted by the setting sunshine. We had great service and the food all came at a reasonable time. Overall I’d definitely come back here. It’s a breath of fresh air to have great food, service, and atmosphere in downtown Tampa.
What an amazing restaurant. A real triple threat. The food was incredible, the service was top notch, and the price was reasonable. The authenticity of the food blew me away. I'm already looking forward to me next visit.
The best place I found in Tampa to eat IF. My husband got a Napolitan Pizza and I got a Bolognese Pasta and it was very tasty, we also went with our baby and we enjoyed our night. I love the atmosphere of the place and server was also very nice. I totally recomended this place!
Delicious pizza, great service and a cozy location downtown. Can't wait to come back to try the pasta!
One of the best pizza joints in Tampa, hands down. Their sauce is so good, good espresso
Great authentic Neapolitan pizza. The staff was accommodating and the pizziaiolo was incredibly knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk with.
I love this restaurant! So romantic, great ambiance, amazing food, nice staff, love when they have live music!
Great atmosphere and service. We sat outside because it’s a small establishment and some of the customers were talking very loud.
My friend ordered the raviolis and said they were very good. I had veggie pizza that was also pretty good. Somewhat soggy so not sure if tomatoes or the sauce caused it. Definitely recommend if you love Italian food.
First time experienced having to dine in with family to enjoy delicious pizza. It was pretty empty so we ate in. There is outdoor seating as well. They also serves wine, also their home made marinara which is by far the best ever made. The service is great and friendly, Hannah super friendly, pleasant, our freshly made pizza wait time was minimum. My compliments to the chef and staff. To all their home made marinara is at the register for purchase. Those who gets chance to visit enjoy.
The best Pizza in Tampa! We really liked. Place is very cozy and friendly.
In from our our of town. Stumbled in and everything was Awsome! Food, Service, and Atmosphere was great and the server Anthony did a great Job.
Food was delicious.
I guess the cook couldn't find the basil for the Margherita pizza
I’m a fan of food and travel and go to many restaurants. In terms of pasta, this is the one. The pasta tasted so fresh and amazing. The vodka sauce was the best I’ve had. Had it been bottled for sale, I would have cleared the shelves. Very nice atmosphere with a home-y, mom & pop vibe. Wish we had leftovers! Can’t wait to go back!
Came in on a whim, and I'm very glad I did. Hana was an excellent and attentive server, and I had the pleasure of sitting at the bar in front of the traditional coal-fired oven; it was great seeing how the pizza was made, which looked really legit. Franklin, the chef, was super nice and clearly passionate about his craft. The funghi pizza was exquisite and light, with very little grease but lots of flavor. Definitely recommend this place.
WOW! Wow! This was the best Italian food my husband and I have had in a very long time. Definitely worth way more than 5 stars, more like 1 million stars!
First off our waitress Jessica was so sweet and attentive to our needs. The burrata was to die for. It had fresh pesto, yellow tomatoes and topped with delicious red peppercorn. The bread served with it was warm and soft. So yummy.
We shared a 16 inch Fungi pizza. The crust was so soft. It all melted in your mouth. It was the best!
Then to dessert. Oh. My. Word. Please if there is ANYTHING you take from this review. PLEASE order the cannolis! They were honestly the cherry on the top of this whole night and meal. It was so good my husband's hairs were sticking up on his arms. I had to stop mid chew to take in all the cannolis glory! Wow! Just wow!
As a disclaimer the restaurant said they were short staffed so please be patient with them during this time. But I have to say. They were doing so well tonight. They handed the restaurant well. The wait time was phenomenal and they were handling take outs and in house orders just beautifully. All in all we would give this place a 1 million/1 million. So worth it. We definitely see ourselves coming back here again!
Restaurant is nice and small, stuff is friendly but pizza was cold and the dough was burnt and unpleasant to eat.
Was looking for a quick bite and saw Bavaro’s was right around the corner. I walked into a cozy restaurant and was greeted with gentle music, excellent service, and a delicious meal. I was unsure of what to order because everything sounded SO good but Jess helped me choose the Prosciutto pizza and the Ricotta Meatballs.
Wow.
Both so rich in flavor and the sauce on the meatballs and pizza tasted fresh and real. The pizza dough was charred in all the right places and soft in the pie itself. All the ingredients and sauces stood out on their own to make a great ensemble
After my meal I tried the Cannoli and Tiramisu and it was hard to choose a favorite between them. The tiramisu has the distinct espresso flavor and a nice chocolatey finish but the cannoli is simply creamy and delicious.
I truly enjoyed my stay in Bavaro’s and am really glad I chose it for dinner today. Thank you Jess and staff for making a typical Tuesday dinner delicious
My husband and I recently went to Bavaro’s for dinner, and were really pleased. We tried a few things on the menu. The meatballs were delicious, and the shrimp Alfredo was the bomb.
What was the best tho, was the pizza! Needless to say, we’ll be back.
This is definetly my favorite restaurant in Tampa! It has draft beer, wine, amazing Italian pizza, incredible pasta and good desserts also! We usually share a pizza and pasta with my husband since every time we go there we can't choose between one of the options because we want to eat everything!!😂😂 It's a very nice place! …
Great food a really nice place for have lunch or Dinner.
Phenomenal spot with quality ingredients like double zero flour and Bufallo mozz! They stopped doing every Tuesday BOGO Margherita’s beginning July which is a total bummer bc it was a tradition to come here every Tuesday.
Food was pretty good, was hoping for better. The 50-50 sauce was crazy salty. I should've sent it back but didn't want to hold up our group dinner.
This place is AMAZING. We had just traveled to Italy a few months ago and this place has an amazing atmosphere and made us feel like we were there. The pizza is 100% how it’s made in Italy. Make sure you get the vanilla and chocolate gelato-the chocolate is made with hazelnuts and it was sooooo good. It was our first time there and we can wait to go back many many more times.
We came on a very cold, yet busy day. Due to this, we were seated outside, which was unpleasant due to the weather but at no one's fault.
The Nutella pizza was very good, and I'd recommend to anyone who's just bored in downtown Tampa; it's a surprising amount for being a secondary option on the menu.
The garlic bread is very good, and I recommend getting it with cheese.
Wonderful food and wonderful experience ordering from Bavaro’s today. I had to order enough garlic bread for 80 people this week for a bible study at my church. I called ahead, asked how many orders they thought I would need, and they were very helpful. I was able to schedule my pick up order easily online the next day. I work downtown and I naively thought I could bring a large tote bag and carry the orders back to my building, which is about a 7 minute walk from the restaurant. When I got there to pick up my orders, it was clear I wouldn’t be able to carry them alone—at least not without difficulty. It was A LOT of food. Antonio literally carried the orders to my building, up to the parking garage, and then to my car. And then he refused to take a tip. This is first class service. They also gave me an extra box of garlic bread fee of charge because my order was so large. I also forgot my phone at the restaurant and when I went back for it, Antonio followed up and asked how everything was. The food was delicious and the women at my bible study finished every last piece but beyond that, this is a business that really cares about service. This could have turned into a disaster and instead I was blown away by their kindness. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly!
Came into Bavaros for the first time and had an amazing experience. Hana was our server and she took excellent care of us. She explained the menu very well and answered all of our questions. With such a small location it was good to feel taken care of while we enjoyed our meal. Thank you Hana and the Bavaros Tampa staff!
I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt I had to for a place this good. I went with my family while visiting Tampa, best Italian food we’ve ever had and the staff was so friendly! I’m sad they don’t have a location in my hometown, but at least I was able to buy a jar of their sauce. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
We kinda wondered in on a random day for lunch and OMG DID WE FIND A GEM!!!!! We had the cheesey garlic bread with their warm marinara. That in itself is ADDICTIVE. Next we had the Oysters which is served over arugula. Let me just say that they have turned my hubster into an Oyster eater. They're baked with deliciousness and cheese. Next was the honey wings. Tender, sticky, flavorful. Everything you look for in a honey wing with a slight crisp from the pizza oven. Last but certainly not least was the ravioli with vodka sauce. I usually don't like a cheese ravioli because it lacks flavor and texture........this one I love! Fresh made dough turned into fresh made ravioli sheets turned into the best cheese ravioli and vodka sauce I've had in a while! It's rare to find such an upscale pizza place in downtown areas due to many people seeking for a quick bite. Thank goodness this place chose to stay in the lane of an Upscale Italian Restaurant vs just another pizza joint downtown.
Great place in downtown Tampa. Food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
I get that this is a nice area but I did end up paying more than what I was expecting. Food was.... mediocre.
Came by twice within a week and both visits were delicious!
I had to-go the first time, sat down in the restaurant the next, both my boyfriend and I were impressed. He is excited to make this place a regular spot for us.
The Italian sausage does make the pizza greasier, but that’s to be expected considering it’s sausage. lol
The diet coke was a bit flat as well.
Will definitely be back though!
Cute atmosphere, friendly service, great lunch specials and delicious food!
The staff is amazing, some of the nicest people ever. And the host Josh is super friendly and really made me feel welcomed. As soon as I walked in I immediately felt an atmosphere that feels like being in an old comfortable house, the oven is great and you can smell all the delicious food being made. If you are ever in the area or are visiting downtown Tampa it would be a treat to visit this grand place and make sure to greet the amazing staff.

Diavolo Pizza and the Italian Chopped Salad were delicious, and our server was super friendly. We’ll definitely be back!
A good place to grab a quick bite, especially if you're on a date. They use digital menus and the pictures of featured items are almost identical to what you receive (definitely delicious to the eye!)
The oysters are my personal fave and the wine pours are generous. If you're interested in pizza, you'll be pleased with the quality of the ingredients but the construction leaves it a bit soggy.
Awesome pizza, a must visit in Tampa. Staff were brilliant.
First visit, highly recommended by a good friend. They came through expertly. The service was wonderful in this small bistro and the food was even better. My two granddaughters ate like they haven't been fed in days. We had a wonderful family meal. As we were leaving we noticed how many families were dining together in the place.
Great food, very fresh and tasty. Quick service and cozy environment
Marg Pizza was great. Service was kind. Very relaxing vibe. Not crowded around 2-3 during work week.
Bavaro's was recommended to us. I am so glad that we were able to encounter this restaurant. When I tell you everything was amazing. I greatly appreciate the food, atmosphere, and the GM-Ashley has an amazing spirit. I watched him help and keep his team motivated during a very busy shift. Hats off to the chef each meal was seasoned to perfection. Thanks for an awesome experience.
I've dined at many Italian restaurants and I found this one very disappointing. My ravioli with crema sauce was just OK. I have had much better. The boring small salad came with what was supposed to have been Italian dressing. It was 100% olive oil with no seasoning at all in it. A very small portion of sliced bread was brought to the table - not much for 3 adults - no butter or dipping oil for seasoning. My cappuccino and pistachio gelato were fine. The service was just OK. I doubt I would return if we are nearby.
All the great reviews were true. We had to order a second avocado bruschetta because it was just so fresh and delicious. All four of us were very pleased with our choices and they were all very delicious. The service was great too. There was always some pleasant person doing their best to make our experience as good as it could be.
Excellent pizza. Will be heading back to try other items on the menu.
Delicious food and great service! The vodka sauce here is unlike anything I’ve had before, delicious
Best vodka sauce pasta!! So good. Good atmosphere
laid back place food is great but the service is outstanding. would have been 5 stars but it was chilly inside with the A/C. bring a sweater, but that will be crazy talk for Tampa.
First time downtown and stubble d upon this cute pizza place. Delicious pizza and quick.
I really wanted to like this place :( it’s a lovely family restaurant and the waiters are all super nice.
Unfortunately the food is just… not that great. We had the burrata pizza, charcuterie board. funghi pasta and the cannoli.
The burrata pizza was probably the best - dough was good but pizza was kinda dry overall.
Charcuterie board was also okay. The most disappointing part was the bread. was slightly burnt, cold and a bit stale.
Funghi pasta was kind of bland— the truffle oil was pretty good overall a pasta dish I felt like I could have made at home.
I was most excited for the cannoli but it was by far the biggest let down… the cream tasted more like frosting than cream... Overall way too sweet :(
During my visit to Tampa my wife and I decided to try this place for dinner. We left very happy people.
While the space is small, they don’t try to cram too many tables in the space which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The space feels comfortable while not feeling like you are in everyone’s bubble.
I had to try the wood fired pizza, which was good but the true star of this restaurant was the vodka sauce my wife ordered. It was very creamy and jammed packed full of flavor! I kept bothering her to have one more taste!
The staff was helpful and attentive which always makes for a pleasant experience.
5 stars, can’t wait for our next trip to Tampa to return.
The food is good, the pizza 🍕, pasta and wine served have an authentic taste. The service and experience was good. The place is very near to the public parking lot before the Children Museum and that's an advantage. The prices comparatively are on the higher side, option of sizes during dinner is also another challenge so necessary you pay more and eat more, which is not good either ways.
We held my son's graduation dinner here and from start to finish the experience was 5-stars. It's a cozy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They accommodated our group of 22 inside easily. The service, the ambiance, and the food were all top notch. We ordered pretty much every item on the menu and every person enjoyed their dish, as well as the appetizers. A must order: the cannolis. My mother-in-law, whose family hails from Sicily, said the cannolis are the best she has ever tasted. The shells are hand rolled and the cream is house made. TRY THEM!
Having ordered Bavaro's a couple of times on Uber Eats, its always a great treat! The Neapolitan style pizzas are some of the best and remind me of my favorite pizza place in DC (2 Amys).
We had a great meal here. I recommend pizza with Nutella as dessert. The cafe espresso was awsome. We can see the process of making pizza. The staff is so friendly.
I've eaten here a few times and each time I give the food the same 5 stars. Today I took my elementary aged kids and they also have it 5 stars. Well done. Keep up the good work!
Amazing place amazing Pizza. If you don't go you're missing out. Sit at the Bar so you can see your pie being made.
Excellent restaurant, great staff and delicious food.
Excellent authentic pizza. A true taste of Italy.
Absolutely fantastic pizza, easily some of the best Neapolitan I’ve had. Unfortunately, someone I was with ordered a spaghetti and meatballs that came out extremely oily. Good experience overall though.
Luis is the best server, it makes my experience even better. I like the idea to eating Italian food in the middle in the city but definitely the service can make the difference:)
Thank you so so much
Always delicious! Can't go wrong with penne a la vodka and a margherita pizza!
The food was not that good. I would go for the pizza instead of any other dish. We had two who ordered pizza and were delighted. But I have to say that with this Covid situation, they had no waiters so the service was slow and not the best. I give them 4 ⭐ because they tried very hard! I appreciate their effort. I am sure they will get on track soon.
AMAZING dinner here. I’ve been here several times for ladies night (free cheese board w any bottle of wine) and it is beyond the best! The apps and pasta and pizza is some of the best in the tampa area for Italian food and service is always great. Whether local or in town visiting, Come check this place out!
My friends and I have a weekly tradition to eat here because the food is amazing, the customer service excellent, and the atmosphere warm. We love our typical waitress, Hayly, who is always quick and ensures we are doing well. Overall, highly suggest this place!
My wife and I were in Tampa for a few days and found Bavaro's and decided to give it a try...and we are so glad we did. Arrived before our reservation and were seated immediately--wood fired pizza was delicious, service was outstanding and had a great, relaxing meal. We will be back!
Great Neapolitan pizza. Thin, flavorful, and takes me back to the memories of Italy. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese was good except for a some of the noodles were stuck together and did not cook. I recommend.
Took my two kids for Lunch on a Saturday. Staff is courteous and our order didn’t take long to arrive. We ordered three pasta dishes, one we had to send back right away. Unfortunately our tomato pasta orders were overcooked, broken and swimming in sauce. My Penne alla Vodka had no pancetta in it, overcooked and with too much sauce.
Im sure their pizza is much better, but a Pastaria worthy of this name should at the very least have mastered the best techniques, but it’s not the case for Bavaros.
Meh.. it was alright. Seriously outrageous prices, $15 for a Pizza Margerita? When I lived in Napoli it was rarely more than 5€. Plus the outside tables were very nasty and sticky.
Came here for a random date night, and We loved it! Food was amazing, wine was even better. Our waitress was right on time every time, and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.
OMG!!! This is by far the best authentic Italian restaurant I have ever been to! I will start with the excellent service we received. We had a 45 minute wait because they were busy and shirt staffed. The GM Ashley was hosting and he was our server and cleaning tables. He was basically filling the caps of his team. As a manager myself I definitely understand when things get tight how stressful and challenging it can be. I have great respect for that hustle and passion! Everyone pulled together and were in good spirit. Now to the food. I had Penne alla Vodka dinner and I added shrimp, Italian sausage and chicken. I also order there meatballs as an appetizer. The Penne alla Vodka was superb. I really can't find any words to express it. The meatballs were just as good as my meal. Everything the make is made in house and fresh! If your in Tampa make this spot on the list to visit!
We have been going here for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The staff are hard working and professional. The food is always delicious. One of the best in Tampa!
Amazing Neapolitan pizza! Much more authentic pizzas than nearby "Italian" restaurants claiming to be authentic. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, and their Italian wine selection is wonderful. Service is also fantastic! We had a great waitress, Alex, who was extremely kind and gracious even though our table was indecisive and a bit chaotic. Thanks Alex!
My favorite Neopolitan style pizza in Tampa. You can't go wrong with any of the choices, but the classic Margherita is my go to. Friendly staff, great food, and a convenient downtown location.
A friend sent me a smorgasbord of food from there and let me say: IT WAS AMAZING!!
The oysters Rockefeller, ravioli, penne al vodka were all major hits. I can't wait to go eat there in person. If the delivery(which was on time and piping hot) was that good, I expect in person dining will knock my socks off.
Everything we ate here was excellent. Pizza is very good. The pasta and sandwiches were also very good. I will make it a point to eat here every time I'm in Tampa.
Literally the best. Staff are always so nice, food is excellent. Good wine list. It's small though, so be sure to make a reso before you go if possible! I've sat at my table by the window on several occasions and have watched people get turned away because of lack of space, so prepare in advance! Highly recommend!
Never had better! Pizza came exactly as I ordered and was awesome. Wine selection is great. Sit at the bar and watch Michael build/cook countless pizzas when it’s busy — it’s a show. Watch the crew work together to keep the operation flowing smoothly. Great restaurant.
Great food and ambiance...ate here on 2 successive weekend before and after a cruise...kind of made me love Tampa.
The wine was great, however when I got my order there was a large clump of pasta on my plate, and I would've bet money my spaghetti was ramen noodles anyway..........But the wine was good and service was accommodating.
I visited a while back with my boyfriend. Amazing place. Small, but perfect. Great atmosphere. Garlic bread was good like no other I've ever had. The pizza was so good that we finished it in minutes. If you go, you have to try their canoli! Will definitely go back next time I'm in Tampa. Wish I remember our server's name. He was really helpful.
Wonderful spot in downtown Tampa. Adequate amount of seating. Can have a wait or need reservation on weekend nights. Their pizza is delicious. We split one between the two of us, but could probably finish one each if we pushed ourselves. Great, friendly servers. Great cozy atmosphere.
Amazing food. high quality ingredients. Absolutely amazing. Deffienlty try the ravioli. The vodka sauce is 2 die for!
One of my favorite resturaunt's in Down Town Tampa! They always welcome us back and even went above and beyond and made us something that was no longer on there menu! The rustic feel reminds me of my travels through Italy. Every sip of wine and flicker of the candles inlayed into a towering exposed brick wall made me feel like I was in Napoli again. Thank you for the great food and great times! Bravo! Chin chin! Till next time!
Environment is great! The food and staff or even better 👍
If you're ever in this area or thinking about eating here, DO IT! We've gone here multiple times throughout the years and it never falls short. …
Lovely place, a great atmosphere with friendly staff and wonderful food 😀
Fresh Italian food in central location and the Best Cannoli and Cappuccino in town!
Wonderful pizza, the crust has the complex flavor profile that can only be produced through a lengthy fermentation process. The tomato sauce is excellent as well. What needs improvement is consistency (pizza occasionally comes out burned when the restaurant handles too many orders) and spotty service (when the place gets so crowded that the waiters misunderstand one’s orders). You will be better off to visit in the off-peak time. Pasta and salads were great, too.
This place exhibits an essence of class and youth. Bravado provided my lady and I an all encompassing experience. There location is close to a very popular area that embodies night life. The staff dresses and converse very professionally. The food is authentic and decadent. The experience my partner and I shared is one that will almost certainly have us coming back for more.
A safe and delicious dining experience. The food is always top notch! I felt very comfortable dining inside. You can visibly see the accommodations that are be taken to provide every a safe dining experience. From hand sanitizer by the entrance, paper menus, spaced out tables, and masked and gloved service staff. Keep up the great work!
Amazing dinner with Pizza and Appetizers! Great service! Can highly recommend! Antonio, the waiter, was superb! Definitely will go back!
The avocado bruschetta and the pizza was delicious. The gelato was even more delicious. The atmosphere was great with some live music and friendly staff. Definitely glad we stopped here on our trip to Tampa.
Absolutely delicious!!!! As soon as I walked in, I was pleased! It smelled delicious and the Italy influence had me excited🥲. Everything I ate was literally out of this world. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese, the Burrata minus the prosciutto di parma (I’m a pescatarian 🙂), and the penne alla vodka minus the pancetta. They have homemade sauces in jars for sale. We got one of each! 10000027829382992828% recommend this place. Go there! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Bavaros for a wonderful food experience. We will be back 🥰
A solid rustic pizza. The place has a nice feel. I think I've been fortunate to have had some similar types of pizza in other cities and this one falls a bit short. Still worth a visit if you're in the mood for it in Orlando.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
We had a fairly large party and visited during an extremely busy night so our experience wasn't 100% what it should have been. Some items got mixed up and others completely undelivered. We were told nearly half an hour after we ordered that there were no clams and had to make some changes well into our dinner. Despite all of this, the food was phenomenal. So much, that I didn't realize they gave me the wrong order until I was halfway done eating it. I was so impressed but the quality, that it easily made us overlook their short comings. I expect that when I return, I'll get the full experience.
My girlfriend and I came here one day to meet for lunch. We couldn’t believe the great service we got and the atmosphere gives you this little Italy vibe. The food was delicious! I can’t wait to come back!
There are plenty of places in Tampa to get great pizza, but this is my favorite. Thin crust pies cooked at high temps, and 72 hour dough makes for some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. The small dining area and wood fired oven remind me of my favorite pizza place back home on Cape Cod. I travel to Tampa often, and will be back shortly.
This is a two part review the service, Charcuterie plate, Sangiovese and Vegetti with Italian sausage were all fantastic.
The pizza was solid but not crisp enough so it became mushy and the meatball was bland.
The espresso was weak and not creamy and gelato was gritty some of the worst I have ever had.
We had a nice pre show dinner here and enjoyed the burrata caprese and a large wood oven prosciutto pizza. The prices are reasonable, service is good and food is tasty. Try it out.
This was our first visit but definitely not our last!
Meal was fantastic...each of us had a different pasta dish...and we all "sampled" the variety of dishes and were very impressed with the flavors of each entree! Great taramismu dessert competed the meal....we also admired the pizza ordered by other diners...our selection for next time.! Service by Laura was wonderful.
5-Star Customer Service w/ Alex
I am a regular at Bavaro's and want to make sure the appropriate parties are aware of her outstanding service. Myself and my co-worker are semi-regulars and she always has our wine and beer ready as soon as we come in. I don't know how she manages to seemingly keep the entire restaurant satisfied and stay on top of everything else, but she does. Great explanations of the food and wine selection and is always pleasant and professional. Thanks Alex, see you soon!
Have just had two weeks in Florida and has some great food. However we have just eaten at Bavaros in Tampa and to say this was our best meal, let alone the best Italian we have EVER eaten, would be an understatement.
We cannot recommend this place enough. Fantastic food, service and reasonably priced.
Thank you for making our last night in Florida a good one

I’m Italian, living in the area from 2019 and I can tell I hade a truly good pizza yesterday! I recommend this place for a good and fast service and well made wood fire pizza by the maker Javi! We got a starter with Italian cheese and prosciutto crudo di Parma, honey almonds and bread, delicious! And pizzas diavola and tre carne, delicious too! Good place in a good atmosphere. Reminds me of Italy. I will go again.
Great wood fire grilled pizza. Place is very small and is often busy so reservations are recommended. Pizza comes out hot and only takes a few minutes to cook, so you aren't waiting more than 10 minutes to get your order.
Just visited here with my boyfriend, it was our first time. Amazing pizza and pasta. Definitely recommend trying both. We got the American pie pizza and the cheese ravioli, both are amazing. The staff was also super friendly, definitely will be back again
This place makes wonderful pizza. The crust is absolutely amazing. It has a wonderful bite and is perfectly charred on the edges. The sausage as well is wonderful; it's full of sage with just the right amount of salt. Highly recommend!
Margarita pizza is to die for - SO good (more specifically, the sauce is flavorful and the crust is oven backed to perfection). And service has always been very good too. Would give 5 stars but the place gets crazy loud when it is more than half full (no soft sound absorbing surfaces to be found anywhere). So bring your appetites and guests you really don't want to hear anyway, and you will be good to go :).
The environment here is so romantic and cozy great first date location if you want to impress. The pizza is superb the wine pairing is the cherry on top. By far my favorite place in Tampa thus far.
I would love to review your two pizzas I ordered. Sadly the ubereats driver, decided he wanted to eat the pizza more than me and canceled it within 5 minutes and left. 3 stars for atleast making the food.
Good choice for pizza and pasta in downtown tampa.
Excellent service and excellent food. Live music could have been a little quieter so we can hear everyone at our table. Guitar player playing Jazz. He was great.
Decided to check out the Tampa location. Ordered the pepperoni pizza. Quality was good price right on point and service was okay. Definitely prefer the Saint Pete location over the downtown Tampa location
It is a rare thing to find a legit margherita pizza in the US. After years spent stationed in Italy, this place is the closest thing to authentic neopolitan pizza that you will find in the city.
At first glance, the pizza is very small for the price. The "homemade" ravioli are bitter in the tomato sauce. The only reason we rated Bovaro's so high was because of the director of operations, Mat. His honesty in how poor the food is was unbelievable. He actually informed me that I was better off eating a pizza from Pizza Hut and buying a can of Chef-boarder ravioli rather than spending $34.00 on a meal here. Matthew's honesty is unmatched, thank you Mathew for your help.
Amazing food!!!! My waiter Pablo recommended the Garlic bread with cheese and the ravioli in vodka sauce and it was delicious! If I wasn't ashamed of it I would've licked my bowl because of the Vodka sauce. 5 stars to the chef, server and owner.
Ridiculously good pizza! Great ambience, although I could see it getting loud thanks to the brick.
Just a very nice hole in the wall find. By far the best pizza we've had in the Tampa area.
Anyone giving this a negative review is probably a competitor!
Amazing staff and food! Neapolitan pizza was incredible.
The pizza there was authentic and delish! Everything tasted fresh and straight from Italy
I always eat here and am always well taken care of! Gary and Dan, the owner are the best but everyone there is great! I order the Marguerita brick oven pizza to start and that is alot to share. With the Mediterranean salad and a pasta with their home made sauce, you cannot go wrong. The wine list is very good and extensive. Bavaro's is just a great neighborhood place that is authentic and done well without being a chain. I understand that they are opening in Orlando in Feb 2015 and wish them very well. I am sure they will be successful there as well!
The best pasta we’ve ever had in our entire lives. We had the garlic bread with cheese to start and the Penne Alla Vodka with chicken and the Homemade Ravioli as entrées. They make their own pasta in house, and it is the perfect texture. Plus, the vodka sauce was delicious. It’s a small space, but they don’t cram as many people as possible in the room like some places, which I really liked about it. I will definitely be recommending to my friends and family.
Pizza is super thin crust and made perfectly. Haven't had pizza this good even from Italy. Maher is the waiter to ask for. The owners work there and their pride in ownership shows in every dish they make. Small enough to be intimate, but large enough in creativity to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at.
Service was great and so was our meal. Oysters, garlic bread and meatballs for appetizers. Vegan Veghetti, pizza and penne alla vodka followed by tiramisu and a canolli. Highly recommend all.
One of my favorite Italian and pizza places to go! They have the best oysters brick oven style!
We went to this restaurant last night and it was amazing, the atmosphere is cozy and authentic, the food is so fresh and it's home made, it's absolutely amazing, our waitress brittani is awesome, she is so friendly, knowledgable, and so much fun. We even asked to speak to the manager to let him know how impressed we were with the whole experience. We highly recommend this amazing restaurant. We will definitely be back
Excellent crust if you like true Neapolitan pizza. Toppings very good. I had the Funghi pizza which was excellent. My wife had the Arugula pizza, which was a little bland. Next time she would definitely add red sauce. We both shared hazelnut gelato and a Nutella dessert pizza. Both were excellent and highly recommended. Will be back.
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had my whole life..
So so good! I started with bruchetta that was absolutely delicious! For dinner I had penne vodka with grilled chicken... I couldn't get enough of it! Desert was a canolli made from scratch. Just incredible all around, really! Our server Pablo was really great and informative on the menu and ingredients which I was very appreciative for. I will definitely be back! This is how I wish my first experience at new restaurants was always like.
The food is AMAZING! Service was great. Price point was good also. I would definitely go back and encourage you to try them.
Had a burrata pizza, was out of this world fantastic
We had the tres carne pizza and the quattro formaggio ravioli with vodka sauce. Both were unbelievably tasty! The pizza was classic neapolitan style, so it was very thin, but thoroughly enjoyable. We loved coming here and would recommend it to anybody in the area!
We ate there 03 March/20. We ordered an oven baked pizza. Ours was.last to be served. It was the first time in my life ithat I ever i ate such a wet pizza. The sause was cold and ran off the dough. Terrible. Service was excellent but food was awful.
Great food and great service. Just needs more tables inside.
My favorite dining experience in Tampa thus far. Excellent service, without the staff becoming too friendly, letting you enjoy your meal in peace.
Lovely brick and mortar experience, easy listening music, including classical pieces, contemporary classical, jazz standards, as a nice backdrop, not blaring from the speakers.
Had:
Garlic bread
Pizza Margharita
Birra moretti
Montepulciano d'abruzzo
The garlic bread and pizza was perfectly cooked, with a slight blackened crust, crispy on the bottom, and slightly chevy on the top.
The tomato sauce on the pizza had plenty of flavor without being overpowering, with a slight zest from the tomatoes.
Only point that I did not like was that the basil used was a cultivar with a bit more of an anise flavor, like thai basil, rather than the Genovese sweet basil.
Excellent food, nice decor. Only knocks on it are that it is small (maybe 30 people at any one time, not good for more than 6) and there are no beers on tap. If neither apply, and you like authentic Italian pizza, then you will enjoy.
Oh my goodness this place is amazing! I don't think I have ever had such great pizza and cheese sticks in my life! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. And let me tell you, I found this place by smelling that amazing food from down the street when walking about. Must try! I wish I had a place like this in the PNW
Excellent food and service! Friendly, professional service. We opted for the sidewalk dining and it was perfect! Good value for the money
It was good, I have a feeling that a lot of the menu is solid. The sauce was tasty, which is a hard thing to accomplish for a lot of places. Service was decent but on the slow side (it was packed with spring breakers, so I cant fault them too much). Overall it was good, I would like to go back to compare
Wednesday is half of beer & wine. Try this brunello. Very good!
Pizza was ok.
Great food! We had the tagiatelle del Mare (blue crab) and Margherita pizza. Both were delicious! The tagiatelle ribbons were so thin and light that I could taste all other flavors in the dish. I was full yet didn't go into a food coma like I usually do after Italian food.
Small but totally authentic Italian. Handmade pasta and wood fired pizzas. Reservations reccomended as dining room is cozy.
Nice little restaurant, but there aren't enough seats. The pizza crust could have been cooked a few minutes longer, but the chocolate gelato was delicious. Seated outside two panhandlers asked for money.
Good food, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff! My server Rebecca was absolutely amazing! I would definitely go back if I come to Tampa again!
Amazing pizza and pasta, just like you'd get in Italy. We sat outside and felt very safe. Restaurant is clean and following all CDC guidelines. We'll be back!
Fantastic pizza, staff was amazing and interesting to talk to. The chef, Mossimo, was an artist with the oven. This will be a regular stop when I visit Tampa! The atmosphere was cozy and uncrowded. They are open until 10pm during the week (alot of other places close early). They are pricey, but amazingly worth every cent and a hefty tip to boot!
Great food and atmosphere. Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave fantastic service.
Personally, I’d give a 2.5/5. The staff very friendly and personable. Probably won’t come again as I thought the food could be better.
The service was good and the place seemed clean. I ordered the penne all vodka with chicken and a side of meatballs. The penne was al dente and the sauce was creamy and quite good. The marinara on the meatballs was not to my liking and inedible. The meatball itself was mediocre. Beer selection is limited but the beer was cold.
Rebecca, jordan and antonio were warmer than the indoor fireplace. Not to mention, one of the best pizzas I've eve had. Will be coming back.
Nice atmosphere, good pies, needed a tiny more crunch to the crust but will definitely be back to try the handmade pasta and another pizza creation.
Really impressed. Everything was above and beyond - fresh and top notch flavor. We ordered the arugula pizza with mozzarella di buffala, tagliatelle with vodka sauce and a side of meatballs, caprese salad, tiramisu and canoli. All excellent, but we especially appreciated the fresh pasta, super flavorful sauces on the meatballs and pasta, and the taste of the pizza dough. In addition the service was good! Really excited that they are opening a Sarasota location!
We had 3 pizzas and 2 pastas all amazing! The pizzas were delicious! The taste was as it should be and we learnt that the pizzaiolo was a true Italian! Went early with a family of three kids and the staff was extremely kind and friendly- they even gave a piece of pizza dough to the girls to build their own pizza! Thank you guys!!!!!
Very busy New Years eve. Service was fantastic. Food arrived quickly, hot and fresh. Great flavors, pizza, mearballs and ravioli were perfect....
Excellent wood-fired pizza in downtown Tampa!
Excellent service, food choices, and very tasty.
Thumbs up! Great cozy ambiance
Great spot with all the new restaurants I forget to go back to the tried and true places. Bavaro's is definitely one of those places. Solid food, great selection, authentic and fresh. Very nice and attentive staff with a great location and ambiance. Owner is a nice guy as well.
Lots of flavor. Tiramisu was incredible. The pizzas very tasty. Loved it
I highly recommend Bavaro's Pizza! The environment is very cozy and would be a good date night restaurant. The staff were friendly and gave great service!
The pizza was delicious, as were the chocolate hazelnut gelato and homemade tiramisu 😊 I would definitely go again! …
Food and atmosphere was awesome. love the fire brick oven pizzas. wine list is great too. server however was awful, had a bad attitude. ticket said Gary was his name.
This place is amazing! The food was fantastic, the waitress was very informative! We will be back for sure!
I used to live in Napoli so I went here with high expectations. I've had their ravioli, meatballs, and a few of their pizzas. The food is good, but the crust on their pizzas was a lot more doughy than any of my go to places in downtown Napoli. I was only going to give 3 stars, but I'm giving an extra start because they use really good mortadella and are one of the few places since moving back to the US which have carciofi con uovo on the menu.
Incredible pasta. Overall all the food is delicious and what made it nicer is their service. Super friendly😍definitely gonna visit it again …
Great pizza, great atmosphere, wonderful staff
This place was awesome. We showed up a half-hour before closing time yet received the best service from Pablo. The food was very fresh and authentic. The hostess whose name I'm sorry I didn't get was very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely put this on my list to visit whenever I'm in the area.
I must say. Growing up in a VERY Italian household where I didn’t even know what a ruby Tuesday was. This was the most impressive Italian food I think I’ve ever had besides my Nona’s. It takes a lot to impress me with Italian food. But damn. Bravo Bavaro’s. So much so I literally just finished eating and had to post this review.
This pizza is the real thing. I would be shocked if they weren't Verace Pizza Napoletana certified. I'm visiting Tampa for work and I found Bavaro's on the map a few days ago and my dinner plans were locked in. I had the Margherita pizza and it was near life changing. The dough was impeccable, the tomato sauce was fresh and pure, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. I may have to go back for dinner one more time.
Excellent pizza with great staff.
Just that there are a lot of homeless people around that keep walking up to your table.
Awesome place for lunch or dinner... really good menu and one of the best pizzas in the area. A small place so good idea to make a reservation ahead of time; a little high on the price scale but definitely worth it!
We ate here for the first time a few weeks back. We liked the appetizers and desserts more than the main courses. The pizza tasted great...but it was just a little too juicy.
Food is really good, but the staff is rude. Could have been a 5 start but i was treated like I was an inconvenience. Not one smile
Possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten. Great menu and atmosphere. Small.and quaint. Friendly staff. Can't wait to try more of the menu on next visit
Absolutely hands down the best vodka sauce ravioli I’ve ever had in my life!! My fiancé and I shared that and a pizza and it was truly an amazing meal! Highly recommended!!!
The Pizza is outstanding. Its beyond delicious and feels very light on the stomach. However the service is not impressive. Please invest in more waiters on busy nights and some who are not rude and dismissive.
This was one of the best pizza's I have add everything in the the pizza was fresh from the cheese to the sauce to the meat. Most of it home made. The canoli was awesome too to finish it off and was made in house.
Great wine! A friend and I got the pesto and the Fu ghi pizza both of which were really good. Not too expensive, nice interior but kind of small.
We ate there last night, the food was delicious and our service was great. I suggest the ravioli, the sauce is to die for! Small place need get a reservation, but well worth the extra effort.
This place was delicious. The lasagna was cooked al dente which was not our style and the meat sauce was a little plain but everything else was amazing. The tirimasu was among the best we have ever had and we try the tirimasu everywhere we go.
This is the first time trying a Neapolitan pizza, and I not disappointed. The ingredients felt fresh, and the ambience, as well. The servers are the best, at least that date. This is a must-go-again experience.
Good pasta, service was good. Small portions. It was good but its really nothing special.
Happened upon this place this evening, what a find. The waiter explained with obvious pride that the ingredients were all organic, and you could taste the quality & freshness. Service was great, food was incredible, we'll definitely be back!
Great local pizza place in downtown Tampa. Had the meatball appetizer and they were really tasty, also ordered the tres carne pizza and it was the perfect size and the flavor was great. Would def eat here again.
Excelent pizza and meatballs. We were planning to go to Eddy and Sam and it was closed (January 1st) so we came here and it was packed. Anyway even with the overwhelming craziness the service was very good. Impressed. Will come back.
The food was good but we had to wait for more than 30 mins to place our order and another 20 mins after we asked for the bill to get the bill.
Authentic Italian pizza. Most excellent. Diavola and Burrata was top. Highly recommend
Edit: 4-> 5 stars: they went above and beyond when I pointed out a price error (difference between menu and what they charged)
Pretty great
Only thing that’s kinda sus is: I think I only ordered the Antipasto which is $11 on the menu but the check came for $13.98 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
No. Not today. The Finicky Eater was annoyed Bamboozle changes to cafeteria style during the lunch hours. By now, we were beyond hangry. He had originally longed for Chinese food after crew camp, but the experience (see previous review) became unpleasant. He did not admit to it because he is quite proud. But I saw disgust in his eyes, as he read on my face that we were positively never eating there. So he pretended he was sacrificing himself for my sanity. Chinese food in Downtown Tampa is like going hunting for giraffes in Publix. It is like trying to buy a kiwi in a shoe store. So we decided to conquer the heat and walk to Bamboozle. A sure bet because I love their Pho soup boats. But my Finicky companion would not eat there unless he could have his usual Kaffir grilled chicken. By now we secretly thought about how to get away with murdering the other. Then… Voilá! I remembered his favorite pizza place was opened for lunch. Bavaro’s saved his life once more as before the place has saved him from starvation.
When I was an Elementalist (search in Tampa Rican dictionary), I used to go to Bavaro’s often. The place is unusual especially at night when the many nichos (little pedestals embedded in brick wall) are lit with candles. The brick-oven lights up with flames and the place glows orange and romantic. It is quite small and intimate too. One must speak softly or whisper loudly if one does not wish to partake in the conversation of others or have others eardrop into yours. I love those places that seem sacred. Bavaro’s reminds me of many of the missions found in California or New Mexico…Arizona… Tall ceilings and brick walls… there is an actual crucifix and sepia pictures hanging. Mysterious, but familiar… like a relative you happen to love, but know so little about. At night, you better have a reservation because many know about its magic and it gets rather crowded. During the lunch hour, you can walk in and be seated without much fuss. Today I had the special. A six inch pizza… four slices all different. One slice mushrooms, another artichoke, one more of prosciutto, and the last one soppresatta. Lovely.
The service was amazing today. As I have said… when busy, you are likely to wait. Just order a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the anticipation. Impossible to be constant when serving many… breath…take in the moment…act leisurely. The pizzas are the main attraction even when their sauces are famously sold in Costco or the supermarket. Wood-fired; they are thin and crispy… light. The Bianca is without sauce and I have tasted it adding Prosciutto di cotto and salami. My favorite is Carciofo con Uovo (prosciutto di cotto, artichoke, basil, one over easy egg and extra-virgin olive oil.)Then again, an over-easy egg or a poached one is my favorite sauce so you better love eggs if you are to order this one. If you choose a Panini, you will love the bread since it is a light, wood-fired pizza dough like an Italian version of a burrito. The Salumi is over-stuffed with meat, but be aware that the meat is cold. It does surprise you since the pizza bread is so hot from the oven. The Pork Ravioli in Vodka sauce is memorable. Not as heavy as an Alfredo or a Carbonara, but not as light as a marinara either. As dessert, Bavaro’s serves a Nutella pizza… huge… to be shared with everyone and anyone. Leave space for it or you will be forced to carry a box to your car.
Yes. Today was one of those days in which you plan something and end up doing something completely different… Yes, one should become mute when one is hangry…but one does not. Hunger becomes anger often. Nothing better than apologizing over fantastic pizza and a glass of wine.
One of the best Italian restaurants in all of Tampa. Excellent food, good service, a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The penne alla vodka is paradise. I love this place.
Intimate, fresh, friendly. The oysters, the Diavolo pizza, hand made in front of me... the friendly staff and management. Just a great place.
Great pizza! Everyone should try it.
Pizza was excellent. The sauce was delicious and approved by my italian significant other. The canollis were delicious.
Great service, great wine selection, authentic Italian here. Very good pizza and pasta.
The homemade pasta is great and the happy hour and prices are wonderful, but it lacks flavor in sauces.
Delicious food and amazing service! Had a great time at Bavaro’s during our first time in Tampa. Definitely will be back!
Great pasta, very good service. Small restaurant with cozy atmosphere, good wine selection. $13 to $20 entrees. Pizzas looked great, I enjoyef the pasta.
Service and food are always excellent! I love their gluten free pasta option and my sister always gets their pizza. The gelato is awesome as well!
Quick service, great food, and wonderful atmosphere. The three staples of what I would consider for a great restaurant. Located in downtown Tampa, this cozy little hole in the wall is anything but dull and unexciting.
Delicious Italian food with flavorful wood fired oven. Best tomato soup in Tampa. Great 50/50 little lunch deal with fast service.
Bavaro's not only has amazing pizza, but amazing service as well. I visit this location frequently and have never been disappointed. I recommend this place to coworkers and friends regularly.
Authentic Italian food! Everything we got was delicious . Homemade pasta and desserts. Pizza was perfect! Staff was friendly.
Small, independent eatery on Franklin St in Tampa. Excellent food & excellent service.
Everything was great. However, I would recommend not buying frozen meatballs or if you do I wouldn't carry it in front door.
Love the penne a la vodka. Menu is good selection, not overwhelming. Service is usually good although manager/maitre d is sometimes a jerk
Staff is great but the owners need to pay attention to details. People, process and procedures. Shout out to the new manager but they need direction and support from the top...signed a business owner.
Literally the best food that I have ever had in my entire life. We had a pizza and the cheese ravioli in a vodka sauce. Absolutely awesome!
We ordered a catered luncheon consisting of insalate organico, penne alla vodka, and a selection of wood-fired panini. Everything was delicious. Definitely plan to use them for catering in the future.
Cheese Garlic Bread is the best.
Authentic Napolitano Pizza! So good. Waiter from Italy. Service was fast .
Good crust, but I'm still not really all that impressed. The ingredients themselves are fine, but it lacks, as someone else put it, soul The one dtsp isn't any better than the Tampa location.
This place take you back in time with its rustic environment and Wood fire pizza it's a must for an easy lunch or a great dinner. Highly recommend the Penne Vodka
phenomenal meal on North Franklin. highly recommend the antipasto Italiano and the garlic bread.
all was fresh, delicious and served with a smile.
Cool place, good atmosphere. The waitress was great and very helpful. Pizza was amazing, try the ravioli too.
Love the Vodka sauce! Chill atmosphere
awesome neapolitan pizza, very fresh ingredients, try the desserts
real good pizza! i like that they make an effort to serve us pizza that is similar how Italians make them! thank you!
I was visiting Tampa and we stopped here for lunch. We ordered bruschetta and a couple of their pies baked in their wood fired ovens, very good. Thank you!
Never had a bad meal at Bravaros. Pizzas and pastas are excellent. Make reservations. It's a small place but worth the effort.
A unique pizza experience. One of the best I've ever had. Recommend the Diavola truly a one of a kind pie. Very friendly staff.
After a week in Tampa, it was finally nice to eat some delicious food. The pizza diavolo was fantastic and every bit as good as you get in Italy.
Wasn't sure what to expect...food was amazing, we had pizza and cheese bread...i loved everything...soft bread, fresh mozzarella cheese and awesome marinara sauce...nice golden nugget...
Great food great service. I don't know how they stay in business with prices so adorable and a dining room so small in downtown. Amazing Everytime I eat here.
What a great service and even more amazing food !
Defenetly recommended!
5 stars !
Great food and great service. Pablo was so helpful and friendly!!! Made sure we got everything we needed and quickly. Food is very good and it’s priced reasonably
Probably the best option in town for a Neapolitan style pie. The pizza here is memorable. This is the kind of place that you'll get cravings for a few weeks later.
I love this place so much, specially if I'm craving for great pizza and delicious pasta this is just a perfect place to be with, I have been here for a couple of time and really enjoy the service and food..
Pizza is amazing. We really enjoyed the bruschetta too. Great service.
Has a really nice atmosphere. We got a pizza and salad. Everything had a crisp, fresh taste.
In Tampa visiting friends and we decided to try this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was better than I expected.
Delicious pizza, great atmosphere and the server was a delight. Has a very New York pizzeria feel to it.
A bit pricey. The pizza is good, but should be crispier for the style of pizza. Servers are nice, but the wait is a bit long.
Amazing
Solid Italian food. Brick oven pizza. Handmade ravioli.
Delicious home made Italian food. You can tell the moment you walk in the door this is the real deal. I'll be back any chance I have, and made sure I took some to go!
Went here after going to Tampa theater for a movie and this was my first time there. The food was delicious and it was an intimate place. Great for a date night.
Authentic Neopolitan brick oven pizza, many varieties. Good salads too. Pleasant wait staff.
Awesome fresh delicious pizza!
Service was a little slow but I'm still giving 5 stars because the food speaks for itself and it was outstanding . Came here from Port Charlotte which is an hour and a half away but it's worth it . Would definitely come again
Incredible!! I can't speak highly enough! Pizza was delicious, service was good, and the atmosphere was very nice.
The pizza is great, but do not order the pasta or salads! The pasta was kinda cold and the salad was mostly store bought
Average wood fired pizza, good sauce though
Delicious pizza, Caprese salad and red wine. Small and inviting atmosphere. Service was fantastic.
Food was amazing. Best sauce. From the homemade pasta to the pizzas everything was top notch.
Fabulous atmosphere and great pizza. The staff was kind. Can't say enough good stuff.
Absolutely loved this place, awesome atmosphere and probably the best cannoli I've ever had. Service was excellent and I would definitely recommend it for a date night.
Great place to get excellent authentic itallian food. Our waitress was great and Herman, the manager, was friendly with all the patrons checking on things.
Amazing Food and atmosphere I would suggest sitting at the bar to watch your pizza made and chat with the master making your pizza.
Great food. Homemade pasta! Prices are kind of high but well worth it. Really enjoyed the food experience. Yum!
Love their Pizza and this is coming from someone that's lived in Italy for 18 years in the Naples Italy we had a gentleman as a server which of at the moment I can't remember his name which gave us a fantastic service been there multiple times I've had a young lady as my server West blonde hair and that wasn't that thrilled with her service
Great pizza and friendly service. Visited Tampa on a business trip. Would recommend to anyone passing by to stop and enjoy what is on offer.
Excellent service, food is homemade with fresh ingredients, pizza is cooked in wood fired oven and you can view it being cook.
Nice place to take a date. Authentic Napolean style pizza cooked in a wood fired oven. Great ambiance and food!
Penne alla Vodka and the Nutella pizza were great. Service was average. Atmosphere was loud.
Excellent margarita pizza and the cannolis are amazing
A family fave for us. The food is fantastic, charming atmosphere and great service. Can't wait for their St. Pete location!
So, so good. Best Neapolitan pizza I've ever had and the pasta and salads are great as well.
Great Napoletana style pizza. Made fresh. Friendly staff, served quick. Great lunch location.
Good place for pizza or panini and lunch service is usually quick. The lunch prices are reasonable and you can get a personal pizza for one
Pizza was very tasty... Sauce was a little runny. Ambience was excellent for a pizza place.
Very popular spot. Food and service is extremely good! Small dining area , always try and make a reservation.
This is a great little Italian place in downtown tampa. Food and service were really good. Can get crowded at times but worth it.
I am originally from Italy, and this is so far the best Pizza napoletana I have had in the US...identical to the pizza I used to eat in Naples. We loved it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent pizza! Dough was phenomenal and service was great! Definitely found a favorite spot :)
I have never had a bad meal at Bavaro's. I highly recommend the homemade ravioli with a glass of chianti.
Excellent Italian restaurant, gorgonzola cream was amazing, the waiter was so nice and helpful, i highly recommended Babaro’s.
Very authentic. Excellent wine list. Great authentic pizza. Amazing garlic bread.
Great flavor, would have given 5 stars but the crust failed to rise properly. Common problem in pizza places.
Amazing margarita pizza. Best cannolis ever!
Our waitress was just great. Looking forward to your future stay with you. What a great place!
Seriously the best pizza I've ever had, James was great and it was entertaining to watch him make the pizza.
Best Italian food I have had in a long time. All handmade pasta and sauces.
The Napoletanian pizza is perfect. The side dishes and appetizers could be improved. Go for the pizza
Very good place to get a bite to eat, not to expensive. A little loud, but it is expected since it’s a narrow seating area.
Friendly staff and delicious pizza! Definitely a new favorite!
The staff is very friendly and suggested some of the dishes we tried. The vodka sauce is amazing!!
I love the ambience and the food, every single time! I brought some out of town family and friends with me last trip, they can't stop talking about it! :)
The Pepe Panini is off the hook...so delish!!
Service was great as well!
It was worth the trip to Tampa 😸😸
Great place and atmosphere. Staff was amazing. The menu wasn't overwhelming. All in all, a great experience!
Delicious lunch. Homemade pasta and a meaty Bolognese sauce. Great atmosphere too!
Ravioles in vodka sauce are to die for.... but the plate costs less at their St. Pete location then their Tampa location. 🙄 …
Great little Italian place! Food was fantastic!
The best authentic italian pizza in Tampa!
Recommend this place best in downtown Tampa
very good food for a very reasonable price, nice place with friendly staff, try their cilantro vodka cocktail, it is the best
Service was excellent, food was very quick and simply delicious. Great date night place
Authentic and delicious pizza and cheese. They also offer a military discount.
The food was authentic Italian and I was very impressed. The place was a little small and noisy, but was quaint.
Good pizza. Friendly servers but unbelievably slow service for such a small restaurant.
Awesome pizza. Quick service and nice staff! Highly recommend!
Amazing pizza. Very quick to bake in the beautiful wood fire oven.
Big portions. Good food. Tiny place. The prices go up for dinner though the portions remain the same.
