The family and I stopped in here to carb load the night before a trail run, and I got to choose. I had the hungries for chicken, and this place didn't disappoint! I also had the salad bar which wasn't anything to brag about but had the essential sides worthy of great chicken. Speaking of chicken, it was all good from the tenders to the wings! The flavors were great, the ranch sauce was a little on the bland side though. I'd recommend the sweet chili sauce for the wings.

Was my first time trying their wings and thought the onion rings were perfect and the mango habanero sauce was superb. Also tried the hot wings which were also perfect. Hot enough to make you sip your beverage but not too hot. Now their Carolina Reaper sauce could be a different story (I did not try those). Prices are average compared to other chicken wing outlets. Overall I would say great experience!!

Exceptional food, exceptional service and friendly staff. What else can one hope for. I will be going back any chance I get in the future. Can't say enough good things about the place, the food and the people. Even the customers were engaging and super friendly. Felt like a close knit neighborhood bbq with some close family and friends.

Let me explain what happens. People around here tell you the fried chicken is "good" at "so-and-so's" place...it's been a lie. I'm from the south, where the chicken is fried, seasoned, hot, and crispy. I have yet to experience this in Sioux Falls. Until the fateful day I ordered from The Keg. The crust is battered and flaky. The chicken has clearly been brined because the flavor is down to the bone. The onion rings were light as air and masterfully fried. I will be back for more. 10/10 recommended.

So the 1st time I ate@The Keg was about a 1 1/2 yr ago. I actually had never been. As a matter of fact I hadn't even heard of it.. and I have lived here for 13 years at that point. And the person taking me told me that the food was so amazing that after this first time eating there I'm going to be addicted to it and want it all the time. I thought I don't get addicted to food but I do appreciate Beyond delicious food.. as I grew up in the restaurant business so I know good food when they eat it.. but addicted to chicken oh and I was told her she's like was the most amazing!! Well needless to say I'm addicted I crave it all the time I just never had I don't like fried chicken but their chickens tenders and their Chislick...Just everything's delicious... not just one item other menu everything the sides salads the beans the chicken tenders!!!

The lunch buffet is a few select items that is priced fairly. Chicken is great, makes up for the small staff and their busy afternoon crowds. I give it a an average 4. Come by at a later time.

HELL YEAH! 12 bucks all I can eat, including a drink! Went for lunch buffet after hearing how great this bird is. Sure glad I did! Not a gigantic selection, but everything was incredible! Chicken top notch, salad bar was super and all the fixings were great and unique!! Service was great and everyone super friendly and couldn't do enough for us! Thanks for such a great place!!

When people say it's the best chicken in town, you'll have to believe it. Obviously a favorite among the locals. This place is super busy. Maybe a bonus that it's on 12th street; if it was on 41st, you'd have standing room only. Great fried chicken and tenders.

Had a 4 piece mixed dinner, incredibly juicy and crispy chicken. Just really excellent chicken. Potato salad was very nice, had a touch of mustard. Service was superb, very friendly staff. I'll be back for the chicken strips and gizzards!

I am a southerner from Tennessee and this was THE BEST fried chicken I have ever had. Amazing. Very laid back. Family friendly. (At least during the daytime. I was not there for the night crowd or after work drinkers.)

The chicken thighs only had a single bit on each also was told 20 minutes ended up at 55 minutes to get 10 pieces and 2 didn't have any meat on them the legs also were so small. Not like normal keg chicken very disappointed

It was like a dining oasis at the west end. Server prompt and polite, chicken was excellent, I had the 4 pc white meat dinner. Crisp and tasty. Cheese curds were da bomb. Will be back and you should check it out too!

Only the absolute BEST take out chicken in Sioux Falls! Crunchy, juicy, (I'm drooling now, can you tell?) Seasoned just right! My favorite side is the baked beans. They taste very similar to the ones I, myself, make, except they don't use green pepper (Hint, hint. For a piece of chicken, I'll come up and make yall a batch. 😊 the trick is to sliver the green pepper, so you don't get a big hunk, but just the flavor) but they are delicious as they are, too. Very affordable, and we'll worth it! (I'm serious about the bean recipe. I want a piece of chicken! )

Can you say gizzard's! Um um! Love me some of these gizzard's! Really liked the lunch buffet option and did I mention that gizzard's are on the buffet. Chicken mashed potatoes salad bar and everything else was real good and I would recommend! They also have a full service bar and several TVs. I did find the place to be a little bit cramped and small especially around the buffet area however they were also fairly busy and only available seating was at bar! Our server was courteous, friendly, prompt and nice. Yes I would recommend and yes I plan on going back.

I don't like meat on the bone but my husband does and this is by far the best fried chicken according to him. I personally always struggle with getting their chicken strips or chislic as both are so delicious! My work even gets them monthly for our lunch meeting. So using them for large orders is great as well. Always friendly staff in person and over the phone. Great food for a great price!

YUM! Great chicken and the FRIENDLIEST waitress. 2 of us had the buffet, very satisfying, 2 of us had chicken and waffles. The waffles were amazeballs (like...chunks of brown sugar in them making them crunchy?! YES PLEASE) with piping hot chicken and tasty fries. Will be making this part of the Sunday lunch rotation.

So we show up 20 mins to closing time. Put our order in. We got our food and WOW! So juicy and tender and the perfect amount of crispness! I was afraid they were gonna rush us out because it was closing time when we started eating. But instead the waitress came up and asked how it was tasting and said take your time. We're in no hurry! Have never had a bad meal from The Keg! Whether it was a take home family meal or stopping in for their lunch buffet.. all delicious. Their chicken is of course some of the best in town, I have to give special shoutouts to their chicken tortilla soup and their Mac and cheese. Again, delicious!

I have been looking for a good chicken restaurant since moving to Sioux Falls and this place may have just cemented themselves as that. Based on one take-out order, everything was delicious (chicken, wings, fries, sides, etc). I am looking forward to a good in restaurant experience once this this pandemic settles down (because sometimes take-out just isn't the same!). I'm excited to come here more often in the future!

Normally the food is great, but tonight's take out was definitely not up to par. The chicken was not quite cooked long enough, and there wasn't the flavor it usually has. My husband's was the same, and the baked beans were definitely off. Also requested two sides of ranch, and only received one. Very disappointing, especially after making a special trip to get this, and passing other closer restaurants.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls. Whenever I'm back in town, I have to eat chicken from here at least once. It's always so fresh and their prices cannot be beat. My first time eating here. I've always come to the casino and the staff is always friendly and nice. My girlfriend and I decided to try it out for once cause it always smells so good. I start every place with 5 stars. I'm 5 mins into this and already the server has cost this place two stars after taking my ticket from the casino without me even noticing or saying anything and returning with my cash and not my change. Granted it was only 50 cents but it's the principle. She seemed very distracted as though she had a something more important to do. Her attitude made me feel like I was the nerdy kid that finally had the courage to ask the cheerleader to dance only to be met with the classic "oh my gawd, wutevur" I asked what I needed to do to get a leg and a breast for dinner as those are the favorites when I eat chicken, which isn't very often. She replied very short and snotty "You have to order the four piece, that's the only way." She only brought waters and never asked what we wanted to drink. I've worked in restaurants for 20 years so I can deal with poor attitudes but she treated us like we weren't supposed to be in the restaurant or even near the building. So she was met with the same poor attitude in return. I ordered my food, a 2 piece dark with wedges and slaw and my date ordered the tenders with the same sides. My attitude at this point was she stole her tip so that's all she's getting. I made a remark for her to hear about how she's the most pleasant server I've ever had the privilege to encounter. We're at 2 stars at this point. Our food came and the wedges looked dark and double dipped like the oil could have been changed a day or two ago....but I was wrong. I took the first bite of the thigh that I had and the crispy crunchy fried goodness and it was delicious. The wedges, though they looked not so fresh, were still just as delicious. The slaw was slaw. My partner sat across and offered me a piece of her tender and it was fantastic. I've been missing out on this place for the last decade I've lived here. The tenders were amazing and my stomach is now yearning for them hours later as I write this. I had planned on leaving the server the 38 cents in my pocket since she likes change so much but after eating I was in a much better mood and left her an undeserving $2. The food was great and normally the servers I've encountered have always been pleasant and friendly. Idk who this girl was but I don't think she should be at your restaurant, it deserves better and so I'm saying 4 stars cause I'd hate to leave a bad review over one bad choice of a hire. Great food and great service from all your other staff.

This is the best chicken I've had in Sioux Falls. They also have amazing spaghetti. The interior feels like a less decorated Famous Dave's, and the servers are extremely helpful and friendly. They have a really good deal on their lunch buffet that I'd highly recommend. The chicken is different than anything I've had -- there's hardly any flavor, but in it's simplicity and quality, it's delicious. The thin deep fried breading/skin on the outside is very crunchy and delicious while the chicken inside is juicy, plump, and tender. I didn't feel sick after eating a lot -- I just felt really full. I'd highly recommend this place!

Best fried chicken I've had in years - or maybe ever!! On road trip to Minnesota and needed gas, luckily for us the Keg Chicken was right there off of I 29. I could tell by the smell as soon as I got out of the car. It did not disappoint -it was AWESOME! Really friendly staff, too. Gonna try to make it a tradition of our biannual trips to stop here. I lived here in Sioux Falls 15 years ago and never took the time to try this chicken out. After hearing about the close down then the reopening I figured I better not miss my chance this time. 10 piece and potato wedges didn't last long. My 5 year old my wife and myself couldn't have been more satisfied. Great price and the best chicken I've had in years. I'll be back in April for more! The Keg's chicken has been a favorite of mine for many years. They were in Sioux Falls for years, then they moved out by Lake Madison and came back to Sioux Falls. Their chicken is so crispy that once you've tried it, I guarantee that you'll come back for me. We always have the buffet. You can have salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, rolls, etc. For $10 you certainly get filled up. I heard they have good chicken gizzards too. I've never tried them because I don't like gizzards.

Looks were completely deceiving on this place! From the outside it appears somewhat run down and shady, but on the inside it's completely renovated and nicely decorated! I was pleasantly surprised to say that least. They offer an awesome all you can eat lunch buffet which pairs well with some of the local craft brews. The price was cheap, the food is great, and the service is phenomenal.

Nice, divey type of restaurant that is next to a gas station. We were in town for work, and one of our coworkers, who grew up in the area, recommended here. I’m not usually a big friend chicken person, but this ended up being very good! The waitress was nice. Only set back was there was barely anyone there, and it took awhile for the food to come out.

I love the keg chicken. I remember when they closed years back and I want sure why. Im happy they came back and reopened a new store but still have the same great tasting chicken. I recently ordered take out and had a chance to wait in the store for my order and I watch the staff work and saw how much they truly care about there customers and how much effort they spent keeping the place clean . You cant fake that!

This place lives up to their good reputation. The chicken is hot, crispy and cooked to order. I regret that I can't say the same about their famous gizzard. They were under cooked and inedible. I doubt that is what has made them famous but I may never know for sure as I will probably not make the mistake of ordering them again.

Ordered fish and chips with a 2 piece dark. Fish and chicken were excellent, probably some or the best fish I've had. However, I could tell that the fries had been cooked in the same oil as the fish and that's all you could taste.

For Sioux Falls this is one of my favorite chicken joints. Great food friendly staff. It's small and in part of a gas station strip mall but you won't be disappointed. This like everywhere else in this town closes early and has some odd hours just check before you go. Food had:fried chicken (great flavor, texture) chicken strips (great flavor, texture, sauces are fantastic). Fish (these fall into the ok catagory but I love fish and chips England style and these aren't quite there. There is no place in Sioux falls that has them like this yet that I have been too.)

I think Sioux Falls is fortunate to have The Keg! There is no place in Sioux Falls where I enjoy chicken more. When in season, their soups are marvelous also. I have always received great service, and they have the best root beer floats in town (with 1919 Root Beer). They are so accommodating. I don't know all the names, but Veronica, Amy and Mindy do a wonderful job of waiting on people, and Brian and Becky manage things with efficiency and helpfulness. Love The Keg!

I got the five piece tenders with wedges and baked beans. Honestly, the chicken is cooked to a perfect crispness, and the baked beans honestly don’t taste like they came straight from the can! And the wedges are my favorite part of the whole meal. I would recommend to ANYONE.

It would be 5 but apparently they have a reeeeally hard time having a pick-up order done in time even when you call 90 minutes ahead and tell them the time you need it done by at least twice...And then are completely unapologetic about it like people don't have anything else to do except sit around and wait another 30 minutes for their food. I wont be going back for this reason alone.
