Made an appointment in an hour and got a spot at 8:30 for 2 people. Perfect service, super friendly and efficient. My sirloin steak was just a tiny bit undercooked than I desired, and our waiter kindly waived my wine off the bill. My husband loves his NY steak with sweet potato fries. We highly recommend checking this steakhouse out!

I went to this restaurant and really enjoyed the service and the food. I had a reservation so we were instantly seated once we got there, and the waitress was awesome she was very attentive to the table. In the heart of downtown so there was a lot to do around there once we were done.

Probably the first time in 30 years of eating regularly at Minerva's but I was disappointed with every dish brought to our table. All were overcooked. My medium rare filet was medium well. The pheasant risotto was crunchy. The duck was overdone. Even the coconut shrimp appetizer was over toasted. Our server was nice and we of course still tipped, but this was in no way worth the $140 ticket price at the end of the night.

I had the NY strip and wild rice. The steak was cooked to perfection but I wish I had ordered something to go with the steak, on it's own it didn't have much flavor. The wild rice on the other hand was delicious. Overall we had great service, very cool supper club ambiance.

We drove from Ohio to Sioux Falls for dinner. It was worth the drive. Everything from the salad bar was high quality and tasty. My husband got the pork and still talks about it frequently, months later. The 13 hour drive for dinner may become an annual event it was so good!

Ah, the food here was delicious! I had the tomato zucchini bisque, the chislic (phenomenal - it is a must try) and then I finished with the pana Cotta... Well, ladies and gentlemen, when Minerva was recommended to me, I thought it is a stuffy restaurant from the olden days... Quite the opposite - that definitely is the decor, but the staff makes it vibrant and the food makes it an entertaining experience! I would absolutely recommend one try Minerva at least once while in Sioux Falls! Very, very good!

I recently went to the lunch salad bar at Minervas and it was incredible. They have so much to offer beyond your traditional salad bar! The tomato zucchini soup was delicious and I was impressed by the variety of options they had for a reasonable price. I'm looking forward to coming back soon!

It was very nice dining experience. The host greeted us right away. The server was very pleasant and helpful. And the rest of the service staff was very intuitive. Atmosphere is great if you're looking for that classic classy restaurant vibe. The food was prepared well nothing extraordinary but prepared well. Did not try the famous market bar this time maybe next time. We all enjoyed our meal steak was prepared properly The duck was a little overcooked but still very delicious with the lingonberry jam. Shared tiramisu for dessert it was very chocolate forward instead of coffee so for people with the sweet tooth it's very good. Overall very good experience we will be back.

Minervas DTSF never fails to disappoint. Not my first visit last weekend but first time reviewing. The salad bar always has an excellent selection and freshness to it not found anywhere else in Sioux Falls. The quality and the prices align perfectly and would recommend to anyone visiting SF. I had the burger battle this time visiting, the French fries were a mix between a fry and a chip! A perfect vessel for the side of beer cheese! We also had the pesto chicken tortellini with a homemade walnut pesto. We will be back!

If you're visiting Sioux Falls, Minerva's is a must! My whole family craves their salad bar, not to mention everything else. Their steaks are always of good quality and cooked to order. The lemon dessert is my favorite! Recently, we stopped to get their burger battle burger to go. If those ice tried, this is my favorite one! Even after driving it home!! Well done Minerva's! If you want a place with years of consistent delicious food and excellent service this is your spot.

I don't care for expensive food BUT the experience was well purchased. Great service, great food, and overall atmosphere would be perfect for a date. For me, it was a business dinner but for bringing a significant other, a must.

Romantic nostalgia, experience that can't miss if you in town. Knowledgeable staff will please your visit with a variety of plates and cocktails 🍸 that are as clasic and close to perfection like you dream off. Delicate steak cuts, bison or high great beef, shrimp, wine list to please. Impressed with how fairly priced and prompt us the staff. Meet Zhach in the bar and his expertise is outstanding, from martinis to wine and aged scotch he is got you covered. Can't find no more words. I definitely coming back with a date or a loved one, is a place to share. You're welcome !

Great value I’ve had the chicken Oscar and the sirloin and both meals were fantastic. The salad bar also incredible. Highly recommend the bar has everything you want to see and some good drink specials. Business casual or date night great place.

We had a business group of 9 people arrive around 8:30pm. Heather was attentive, friendly and helpful! She made every member of our group feel like we were her first customer of the day. Choose the Spinach Dip, French Onion Soup, Salad Bar and the steak!!

I wrote this review draft on March 8, 2020 during my visit and decided to publish it now. Better late than never! It was the last place I ate out at before the COVID-19 shutdown. *** It's so hard picking a place to eat in this state because every place is rated 4 stars or higher. I really wanted something healthy after eating fast food before my flights so I chose Minerva because their salad bar has always impressed me. Not only is everything fresh and lack the congealed top layer, it's got a variety of everything-pasta salads, assortment veggies, soup, cheese, fruit...it's every vegetarian's wet dream come true. They also serve fresh baked bread with a crunchy and chewy crust. I can eat that all day. *** That's all I had written. I remember eating steak and it was good. I'll post photos later.

Went there for a work luncheon on Tuesday and everything was absolutely delicious! Thank you to Chef Brad and his team for a delicious lunch and our server was great as well for our big group! The salad bar is the best in town hands down!! I would definitely recommend to anyone!

The food was above good, Filet Mignon and sweet potatoes fries were so tasty (and I usually don’t like sweet potatoes). Service was phenomenal, Luis was my server and he was great. Loni is a server assistant and she still made sure we were having a good time which I really appreciate. Congrats to the staff, will definitely be back!

Excellent atmosphere, no dress code. Most people choose to dress up but there’s lots of people in casual wear also so everyone feels welcome but very cozy, romantic, classy atmosphere. They give you warm bread and butter to start with. Servers are very attentive. Food and dessert was good. I didn’t love what I got but still good. I got chicken curry but wishing I had gotten steak. Chocolate soufflé was just ok.

The lighting is a little dark and their expresso machine was broken. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken curry was good but not any spectacular. The service was great as always. Overall, for a date night it is one of my favorites.

1st time having dinner here. Reservations are highly recommended. I saw another couple walk in and were told it would be a 3 hour wait. I had New York strip + shrimp oscar style. The steak was cooked perfect medium. This place understands steak accompaniments should complement, not overpower the meat. Place was nice but not snobby. You would wear a suit or a hoodie and be just fine. We had 2 dinners, 2 drinks, and a dessert and the bill was about $100 with tip. Not bad, in my opinion.

This was the 2nd time this week we have been to Minerva's for dinner. Both night I have not been impressed. Pasta was cooked well but absolutely no flavor to it. The prawns were to be char-cooked they tasted like just steamed, not even grill lines. The blackened salmon the same, no flavor. Our service was great!! As we all should be aware, BAD FOOD IS THE KITCHEN'S Problem not the server's!!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Minerva’s, so it was time to go back and see what changed. The salad bar and food were phenomenal as always, but the desserts were on a level all their own. Strongly recommend their tiramisu.

We were driving through the area and this restaurant had good reviews. I wanted somewhere nice to go for my husband's birthday dinner. It didn't disappoint. They brought us water as soon as we were seated and brought us bread while we were picking out our entrees. I got a New York strip steak medium rare which was not completely tender, but had good flavor and I added the chimichurri steak enhancement which came on the side. My husband got the filet mignon and it was more tender than my steak and also medium rare. The filet mignon did not melt in your mouth, but it was still tender. We were so full we didn't get dessert. Our waiter was very professional but friendly and helpful.

We were excited to find this dimly lit, dark wood covered, warm and cozy restaurant in which to eat dinner as a family. It was full of charm and old school ambiance in which to enjoy a delicious dinner on a freezing night in Sioux Falls while visiting town. My husband got the bison steak which was cooked to perfection and I ordered the steak special. Our children enjoyed burgers off of the kids menu. Our server was awesome! For dessert we shared the creme brule and cheesecake...both delish! We look forward to visiting again!

Service and atmosphere great. Food and prep subpar. Salad bar unkempt, bagged salad, messy. Walleye sent back, over fried, needed a knife. Came with cheesy hollandaise sauce didn't complement the fish. Not hollandaise at all. The Mrs. Prime rib, tough but great flavor and great horse radish sauce. They need to up their quality game to match service and ambiance. They were much better pre-covid.

The menu was limited for me, I like pasta entrees and chicken entrees - but had my heart set on the salad bar so I wasn't concerned. Filet and mashed potatoes were good - comparable in quality to other high end restaurants, expected something more for the price The salad bar was good but expensive so only 3 stars - I expected a beyond amazing salad bar for $22. Minervas is my go to restaurant when I am in Sioux Falls. I take my customers and associates there because they have a great variety of food choices and the food is top notch. I have never had a bad experience or a bad meal there. I highly recommend it. The environment can be fancy but you can also show up in shorts. The salad bar is awesome.

After a long day on the open road, Sioux Falls provided a happening night life, shopping, and good food. We had an excellent steak! Great drink options. The weather was perfect so we chose to sit outside. I'd love to go back just to hang out at the big beautiful bar. Do not load up the homemade desserts.

The staff was great! Friendly service! I enjoyed the salad bar with broccoli cheese soup. Their take on beef stroganoff is different from anywhere I've had before. It was basically sliced steak with mushroom and onion gravy and a dollop of sour cream on top. After mixing in the sour cream it was good, but not what I expected. I wouldn't call it stroganoff. Also, the fettuccine didn't pair well. I still give it 5 stars for service, quality, and environment.

I'm guessing it's because of the cold cuts salad bar. It's downtown, which is where you should stay. Find a hotel downtown when in Sioux Falls.

The food is fantastic, the service is always impeccable, and the atmosphere is so classy. I’ve had the best service here—better than any restaurant I’ve ever been to. The whole menu looks delicious but the ribeye is so good that my whole family and I can’t stop ordering it.

Love the food here the salad bar is without a doubt the best in Sioux Falls. The sides menu unfortunately I cannot endorse the mashed potatoes at all. Either baked or french fries. And the dessert that has the little balls it just didn't sit well with me but otherwise a. Fantastic dining overall.

Started out with a Moscato and an appetizer of coconut shrimp with teriyaki wasabi sauce and for the main course I had the 2-4 oz fillets with a loaded Spud. I was very impressed to say the least. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu! Also, the salad bar was top notch with TONS of choices to choose from! Waitress was super quick and very friendly and never let my glass get empty-kudos to you- thanks for being spot on. Cooks- keep up the hard work and dedication of tasty food! Thanks minervas-! The restaurant was nice and convenient to pop in for lunch. The waitress was professional and the service was great! For a added surprise we were asked to try a new desert designed by their pastry chef! It was a white chocolate mouse with a ganache drizzle and a geometric design to give you the surprise resting beneath the crunchy geometric topping. Gosh if this makes it to the menu y’all must try this fabulous desert. ( she hadn’t named the desert yet but all 3 of us loved this♥️) I had the bison burger and sweet potato fries and they were delish! Highly recommend!!!

Where do you start? Greeting- you're welcomed as if you've been invited to a private party, very warm and inviting. Ambiance- very relaxing atmosphere, lighting is just right and the music is the right level. Service- Mark John was outstanding! Very knowledgeable on the menu and since it was our first time there, he made some very great suggestions! He treated us like we were his own family and the level of his professionalism is off the charts! Food- steaks were perfect, salad bar was well stocked and fresh, vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. Overall- they put Morrie's to shame! This is an upper class restaurant with a family attitude! The manager makes sure everyone is satisfied and you can tell he's doing an outstanding job because everyone looks happy to be there! Conclusion- this has to be the best non chain restaurant in Sioux Falls! From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you're immersed in relaxation, flavorful and good portioned food, a salad bar with plenty of fresh additions, very knowledgeable service and wait staff who make you feel at home and welcome and management that actually comes around to make sure your visit is more than you expect!

I always love coming to Minerva's. The atmosphere is great and the service is amazing. Tonight we had Olivia as our server, and she was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. My sisters and I were there for a special occasion, and Olivia offered to take a nice picture of us outside. Above and beyond service at Minerva's, as always. Also, the pheasant risotto is excellent.

Overall the service was great, as our waiter was attentive and friendly. However, I don’t recommend ordering a salad unless you spend the money on the actual salad bar. My Caesar salad was very plain for $6. My husband got the salad bar and it was perfect. My filet was cooked to perfection but my husbands Bolognese pasta had a very odd taste. I guess I expected the restaurant to be better considering the pricing and reviews. Not bad but not somewhere we will be in a rush to hurry back to.

Minerva's downtown Sioux Falls does not disappoint. Classy, cozy environment. Professional wait staff. Not a place for families with obnoxious screaming kids. So a great place to take a date for a memorable evening. Libations are always top shelf. Salad bar is very good. Steaks, chop and seafood are always to perfection. Deserts are great, the tiramisu is excellent.

They have the best salad bar in SD with a great selection of fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, cold salads, cheese and meat, smoked salmon and a choice of 2 soups made on site. In my experience, Minerva's has consistently provided excellent fare and service for over 40 years. Tonight's experience was no exception. I no longer know the chef or staff, but was treated as such. My family (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child) were not dressed up due to the weeknight birthday we were celebrating. Nonetheless our server (Steven) was attentive to each customer and quick to share his opinion on which items were best. I loved that he praised my 11 year old for his choices (Shirley Temple & walleye cakes)! The advice given me was also sound. I had Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet, top sirloin medium rare, loaded mashed potatoes and mushrooms ..The food was served perfectly and my palate was thrilled with the wine pairing. All family members were consistently attended to and had delectable entrees. Afterwards we were treated to a palate cleansing serving of the Minerva's/Paramount lemon cake and ice cream. A perfect conclusion to a well satiated experience. My family left sated and in high spirits. Thank you to all staff for tonight's meal. We will be back for service, decadent food and a solidly private yet pleasant atmosphere. Thank you Minerva's for being a Paramount for so many years. We'll be back.

Went there for lunch yesterday. Had the close to the praire I think it was called. Sauce was great and the Buffalo summer sausage was great. The executive chef Brad came and checked on us and asked how our meal was. Great experience and great food. Will be back.

Top notch experience in a true white tablecloth style sitdown restaurant. The food was perfect, ordered French onion soup, duck with lingonberry sauce, and a brownie souffle. The mixed drinks were high quality and served strong. Worth every dollar you'll spend for the experience you'll get here.

Eclectic selection of fish, steaks, pasta and other American style dishes. The atmosphere is similar to a steak house but not a fine dining steak house. Started off our visit with our server telling us he was very busy. He was polite if not Kurt during our dining. I ordered a Bison ribeye and baked potato. I received a beef ribeye that was overcooked and mashed potatoes. The server immediately informed me they'd correct the potato. When they did, the runner dropped the sour cream on me. I told the server I got the wrong steak and he argued with me. I told him as he was walking away a little too quickly that I know the difference between Bison and beef. The steak was bland for beef ribeye. The salad bar was a good selection with a nice variety of salads and cold cuts. Based off my experience and price I'd suggest not going here if you wanted a steak house. Bad day? Maybe. But argumentative staff, poor execution and dropping food on me. Not good. Spend your money elsewhere for the price. Or maybe order a burger and fries. That'd be easier for the kitchen and less difficult for the staff to argue about.

My order was awesome, I really enjoyed it. I brought home take-out for my wife, but I think they made it too early. I ordered it at the same time as the table ordered and it was ready before I was ready to go, so I'm not so sure how long they "held off" on making her beef dish. I was surprised she would've ordered that, though. Seemed like a strange choice for a take-out order. The staff was friendly and professional, very personable and they all wore masks so we felt safe (even though most of us in our party of 20+ were fully inoculated). I heard no complaints from anyone else who attended about their dish, only complements.

My girlfriend had the pheasant risotto and I had the Ribeye, and WOW were we impressed. We didn’t wait long for the food and the incredible conversation with our bartenders made the wait all the better. I am sure I will be coming back here for family in the near future; but I would come back just for the this experience. Please try this restaurant, it is worth every penny. I would honestly come back just for the atmosphere and customer service, but the food took us above and beyond what we were expecting. I would give 6 stars if I could! Thank you again!

Went here on a whim since we were in town for a concert. The staff is very friendly and the dining area is dark and comfortable. We did not try the salad bar but it looks great. Our food came with a side salad and bread. Their house dressing is a great balsamic. The bread was fresh and had a nice crust. The burger I had was the best I've ever had. I ordered it medium rare and for the first time in my life, actually got medium rare. The meat was so juicy and soft you couldn't tell where the brioche ends the the meat begins. Also the fries were the perfect crisp of shoe string potatoes. The wife got the crab and potato crusted salmon with fill sauce. The fish was slightly overcooked and under season. However the portion was generous and the vegetables were perfectly steamed. For dessert we had the souffle which was cooked spot on and had some exceptional vanilla ice cream with whipped cream on top. Also the house wine and the cappuccino were both great values and flavorful. Prices were very reasonable. We left full and happy.

Always good. This is a great place if you're looking for good quality buffet food. It's a local favorite of senior citizens and young families alike. It's also a favorite stop for traveling high school and collegiate athletic teams. There is ample seating and the well skilled kitchen staff never has a problem keeping up with demand even during very busy times.

A very lovely restaurant. It feels very cozy inside and the atmosphere is both upscale, yet relaxed at the same time. We had to wait about 15 minutes as walk ins on a Friday night, but I think only because they were limiting their seeing to keep people distanced. (No complaints from me in that) Prices are reasonable for the nature of the place. We ordered their appetizer special of a blackberry brie bruschetta, priced at $11, and it was 4 VERY generous sized pieces of bruschetta which were amazing (highly recommend it if you like that sort of thing). I ordered chicken and it was very moist and flavorful, hubby had the prime steak that was melt in your mouth good. The waiter always seemed to show up right when we needed him, and empty dishes were cleared from our table quickly. A great place to go for a special night out.

Many other restaurants do not understand the importance of consistency. And, they are classy enough to not push for turnovers.

Minerva's is great for an occasion. It's a bit pricey for my budget, but the quality of the food, drink, and service makes that price appropriate. Their menu can be adjusted of you have an allergy, and it seems standard practice for waiters to bring the manager over if you do have an allergy. It gave my party a lot more confidence in the food when the manager seemed to be the one relaying information back to the chef. To boot all of the menu tastes great, and the drinks were mixed pretty well, not college bar "burn this mixed drink with bottom shelf liquor" nor "to maximize the flavor of the 45 herbs and fruits in it, this drink has 0.05% alcohol, enjoy"

So far I have been to Minerva's once since moving to Sioux Falls. I had the Cajun Chicken pasta, which to me seems rather bland. I expected spicy. Not being a pasta lover it was not my first choice but the prices were more than I expected. My son liked his meal though, and we both thought the salad bar was fine. Next time I will try a steak to see if that is better. I expect it to be. Coming from the west coast I am hesitant to order any fish, because I hate the taste of farmed fish. They had menu items that sounded quite good, such as honey peppered Salmon. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff I had were more than helpful. I will try them again and order a steak before I pass any negative judgment on them.

Was invited for a rep dinner, expected greatness and was disappointed. No chicken option other than pasta for 4 course meal menu. Shrimp cocktail on point, perhaps too much horseradish in sauce for some, but I appreciated the bite. Spinach dip was bad, extremely thick and cheesy, then hardened- which may sound delicious but, could not taste anything else in it. Ordered a medium steak, mine was med. rare, another's rare. Asparagus was perfect. Tomato zucchini soup was mostly cream and flavorless. Only one server, dishes not taken away until very end and there wasn't a good flow for ordering or receiving. Let's begin with the salad bar. You are greeted by a wide variety of fresh greens, dressings and toppings, fresh pasta and dessert salads, cheese blocks and two varieties of soup. On this visit, the vegetable beef soup was very good but, the fresh tomato zucchini was the star. The salad bar was wonderful. Four of the five in our party ordered steaks. Each of the four received steaks that were cooked to order and seasoned nicely. I ordered the chicken breast Oscar. It was what you would expect when ordering an Oscar with one small twist... shrimp replaced the crab. The only knock on Minerva's.... it is a bit pricey so be prepared to dig deep into your wallet. Our dinner for five, with nothing from the bar, was just shy of $190.

We actually were on our way back from Yellowstone to PA driving through the whole country and needed places to stop by to eat. I honestly would have expected that most places would be closed or offer stuff like burgers and other carryable items but I was pleasantly surprised that South Dakota was generally not very affected and restaurants were open and functioning with restrictions of course but still open. We actually came as a large group and were able to sit together. The dishes were not overly experimental like one could find in Chicago and New York but presentation of the dishes we great. The fare done to order . I mean I would have expected from a steakhouse a great steak but you'd be surprised how many times I have been disappointed. Kids burgers were done to perfection. I mean kids like their burgers medium and they were done medium. Adults ordered steaks because when in South Dakota it's time for MEAT! I am disappointed though that I was overridden that noone wanted to order Chislic. I guess I still need to take another trip....

Wow. This was an unexpected surprise. Our mother was in the hospital in Sioux Falls. We asked the brain doc for recommendations. He directed us here. We had an excellent meal with excellent service, an excellent wine list and a chilled water bowl for my dog (we sat outside). The steaks were well prepared, sauces light, delicate, and flavorful. The lobster Mac and cheese was unique and special. And the prices were not exorbitant. My highest recommendation for a nice dinner in Sioux Falls, SD.

The restaurant runs like a well oiled machine. The staff seems to flow really well and you don't go without seeing someone walk by checking on tables without really interrupting your meal. The actual menu is a bit daunting if you are used to normal eat out restaurants but overall it tasted great. Definitely get the salad bar.

I had the ribeye, it was tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband had the honey pepper crusted salmon and he says it was excellent. There is also a nice salad bar with soup... The salad bar alone would make a great lunch. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely recommend! We aren't wine drinkers but they did have an extensive wine list. Biggest I've seen.

I went to Minervas during one of their more busy nights. Reservations are recommended, as it can fill up fast, and with good reason. The staff is incredibly kind. During our meal we had a few problems with the people sitting near us, and even with the busy nature of the restaurant, the staff was able to reseat us with no hassle. The food was great. The chef found a good balance of flavors within the meals, and everyone who was with me thought the food was great as well. All in all, if you're looking for fine dining in Sioux Falls, you would be doing yourself a favor by coming to Minervas.

In the past I would have given them 5 stars. Maybe it's the covid environment. All of the dishes our group ordered were good but lacked the attention to detail I have been used to at Minervas. I would also say, that Minervas now has competition in the higher quality food niche. There are several restaurants at our below their price points with creative, well prepared, and well presented dishes. It's the only time I've been to Minervas in Sioux Falls when I've not been completely satisfied. I'm sure I'll be back, but if I had a repeat of this last visit, it would fall down the list.

We ordered the family style Cajun chicken penne which comes with a full tray of salad and a full loaf of French bread. The menu says it serves 4-6. I believe 6-8 would be more accurate. As far as taste goes...literally off the charts amazing. Just enough spice, vegetables cooked to perfection and wow what a sauce. For the price of $45 dollars...sooooo worth it. 5 starts does not do this justice, but then again I would not expect less from Minerva's!!

Open since 1977, this is still the go-to restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Excellent staff. Everything you would expect on a steakhouse menu, including a variety of cuts of steak, fish, chicken, and vegetarian selections. Opted for the rib-eye, which was prepared well. Huge salad bar with all the "fixins" for $3.00. Very moderately proceed wine selection. While not huge, there are a few bottles in each category that you are sure to know.

Our daughter has Celiac's Disease, so we have to seek out gluten free options. Minerva's has their gluten free options clearly marked. Our server also went above and beyond by bringing freshly steamed utensils and a freshly steamed plate to be sure they weren't cross contaminated. My father and I shared an entree, so she brought the sauce, the only thing she couldn't guarantee wasn't cross contaminated, on the side. This diagnosis is fairly new for us. We've been a little reluctant to eat out because we don't want to feel like a burden or put our daughter's health at risk. The service was so great, and she was so nice about it all.

Minerva's is the class of downtown. When we're in the mood for an excellent meal with impeccable service and high class atmosphere... Minerva's is our go to. Their salad bar is impressive (though has maybe dwindled in impressiveness just slightly since new ownership a year or two ago.) Was lucky enough to stop in for prime rib night last Friday. Between all in the party we ordered the Bison Burger, Ribeye, and Seafood Risotto. Each dish was outstanding when it came to presentation, taste, and portion. I added the salad bar to my meal for $3 which is very little considering how much it offers. There was so much to choose from I had a hard time not eating to much before my meal arrived. This was my first time to Minervas and I very much enjoyed it. It was expensive but I do not feel that it is overpriced. We finished our meal with one of the features, Red Velvet Cake. I did not plan on having any because of how full I was but as soon as I saw it that went out the window. It was, once again, delicious.

If you are looking for fine dining in Sioux Falls, this will always come across your list of places to go. The market is changing lately however, and while I've never had a bad time, I think they could stand to update and innovate a bit to stay in competition with some other newer upscale offerings in the city. Overall, you won't be disappointed, and it's worth a visit if you are here and looking for a good night out. (The paired bar next door, the Paramount, is a great paring and addition to the facility offering an upscale bar feel.)

Locally, Minervas has a reputation for being the best in Sioux Falls. Unfortunately, everytime I've visited they've failed to live up to that. They seem to overuse salt, and everything I've had with a sauce has been poor. People rave about the salad bar, but it's small, not particularly fresh, and far overpriced. It seems like a few items have even been thawed from frozen. The meat in the center is about the only part of that dish that's worth it. Also, forget about this place if you've got any vegetarians in your party. I've had pasta twice (I think the only vegetarian choice), and it was both overcooked and cold, with a sauce barely rivaling Ragu quality. Get big cuts of meat or nothing, but even so, don't expect your dish piping hot. That said, the service is pretty good and the atmosphere is good as well, though it doesn't seem to fit the food quality.
