Reviews of West of Chicago Pizza Company
Matthew Shawman
My first time having Chicago style deep dish and it was amazing. Had there original and a sausage, pepperoni and garlic. There sauce is crazy good and the sausage is out of bounds good. Its take like 40 minutes to make them but it is worth the wait!! I'll definitely be coming back!!!

Went to the west Seattle location for the soft launch. As a New Yorker I'm not normally a Chicago style pizza fan but this really impressed me. The sauce was tasty and the cheese was melty. They have Jones soda on tap. The staff was very friendly and they were clearly passionate about their pizza and sandwiches. Good chance I'll be back.

Best pizza Seattle has to offer! They were very busy tonight and handled it well. Their order accuracy, friendliness, and quality of food remained the same even though they were slammed. Keep up the great work. We love the pizza. Also, the only pizza my son will eat around here and we've had a lot of pizza in west Seattle.

Finally checked this place out - what a gem! Love that it's a casual place, you order at the counter and then they bring food to your table number. Good amount of families with kids while we were there, but also pretty big TV to watch Thursday night football.
The most important part: the food was great! We got breadsticks with cheese sauce (a must) and an original deep dish. Breadsticks were super fresh and soft, comes with marinara. The pizza was soo good. The 9" was the perfect size for two people. I've had a good amount of deep dish that have decent filling and just terrible crust. This is not one of those places! Sauce and fillings were delicious but the crust really made it stand out to me - actually flavorful and buttery instead of crispy cardboard! It held up really well with all the weight of the toppings.
Owner was there slinging pizzas and he was super friendly, making recommendations and chatting with folks as they ordered. Can't wait to go back and try the tavern style and Italian beef!

Ok, I grew up in Hyde Park and relocated to Seattle for work. Here it goes.
First, have to set the stage by saying the Seattle food scene has its ups and downs. There are great places for sure, but the vast majority are mediocre to just plain bad. In this context, West of Chicago deep dish and beef sandwiches are easily among the best in the Seattle food scene. No question - 5 easy stars.
However, how would they rate against hometown offerings? Now this is where I take pause, and have to say that while they are good, they are not stand outs. The deep dish sauce and crust are good but not unique. And while the beef is good the seasoning lacked depth and the roll didn't have a good crust which turned mushy very quickly. I would say that the giardiniera was very good but there wasn't enough put on top. In all, against hometown offerings I would rate 3 stars.
Combine 5 stars for the Seattle scale with 3 stars for the Chicago scale, and you end up with 4 stars overall.

Very good Chicago style pizza; I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The hostess that took our order was exceptional in clarity and knowledge of the product. The challenge was to find parking so one could go into the building.

I had been hearing lots of hype about this place so, I decided to go and see what it was all about. I have very mixed feelings, so let me explain in my review.
First, the food. I had their signature deep dish pizza. It looks so appetizing. It was very good. I could only eat 2 pieces, it's very filling With that said, I have to note that it was not the best pizza I've had in Seattle. That award goes to Pagliacci.
The things I didn't like.
One, only paid, on street parking. No parking lot.
Two, deep dish takes approximately 45 minutes to cook so, if you're hungry, you're going to have to order one of their high-priced appetizers. I had the bread sticks. Tasty, but I didn't care for the marinara dipping sauce that came with it.
Three, what kind of pizza restaurant doesn't serve Coke or Pepsi? Nope, in this place you won't find either. Only Jones Soda served here. Trying to be a little too fancy in my opinion. I tried all the flavors in the drink machine and hated them all. No thanks. The two most popular drinks on the planet nowhere to be seen. You have to make do with Jones Soda.
Four, I went there to dine in and watch the football playoff game. I figured a pizza restaurant would have TVs and be showing the game. Well, they had a few TVs that were showing the game but, the games were muted and the speakers were filled with terrible country or bluegrass music, at least, that's the genre I think it was. Bottom line is, it was awful music and it was played way too loud. It made my dining in experience very unpleasant.
Five, anyone else think tipping has gotten out of control in this country? I believe in tipping for service. I don't believe in tipping for you doing your job. And, I definitely don't believe in pre-tipping before any service has been rendered. I was immediately turned off when I entered this place because 1. You seat yourself, 2. You go up to the counter to place your order. 3. You get your own plate, napkins, and silverware, and 4. You are required to bus your own table when you're finished eating. And, when you place your order, they ask you for a tip amount. Unbelievable! For what? I should be tipping myself. As far as I could tell there were two waitresses for the place. They sprayed and wiped the tables after each customer left and they brought your pizza to your table. That's it! I don't feel like I should tip when there is no service being provided.
So, in summary, if I was in the neighborhood and I was hungry and craving a deep dish pizza, I'd order a pizza to go. But, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to West of Chicago Pizza.

You guys ... they have a dine-in space now. And it is otherworldly.
A friend of mine, who had lived in Chicago, had ordered from West of Chicago Pizza Company previously, when they were only doing delivery. She said it was authentic, tasty and exactly as she expected. So when she shot me a text saying she and her wife were going to dine in in their new space, I was sold.
I've never had Chicago style pizza before, seen pictures, sure, but seeing is believing. Sort of like how Milford Sound in New Zealand is thought to be one of the most beautiful places on earth, I'm sure a photo doesn't even begin to do it justice.
That's how I felt last night at West of Chicago Pizza Company when my 9" BYO came out pipping hot. But let me back up.
Situated in a great space on 38th Ave SW and SW Alaska St, this little slice of amazing is located in the ground floor of an apartment/condo building, which much of West Seattle is now. We almost drove past it the first time, keep your peepers pealed for it because it isn't unnecessarily flashy.
Inside, we were met by Brianna (per the receipt). She was one of the most authentic people I've met in a restaurant in years, she seemed to genuinely enjoy being a part of something new and was working hard to give her best to it. And it most certainly showed. Except for the occasional communication of new instructions to her from who appeared to be Head Chef Shawn Millard (which momentarily derailed the flow), Brianna delivered exactly the type of friendly face I'd love to see when I return.
Anyway, skip ahead to ~40 minutes later. My 9" BYO came out pipping hot and had robust portions of pepperoni, sausage and whole chunks of roasted garlic, exactly as I'd ordered. The sauce was flavorful, and not too thick, apparently what you'd want in Chicago style pizza. The crust was, obviously, true deep dish and crunchy throughout ($18).
They presently had a small variety of serve-yourself Jones Soda, something I'd not seen before, and Brianna was happy to get you a beer from their selection of IPAs.
Their website called out that they were open, but were still finding their footing, a bit of a soft launch situation, but I couldn't really tell. The team seemed to have found their cohesive footing and except for a minor panic scenario where they had too many pizzas and not enough customers (someone ordered, left, and then came back), West of Chicago Pizza Company had all the signs of the newest thriving business in West Seattle.
I can't wait to be back.

Alright so I loved this place so much I'm reviewing it as I sit and digest all this great food. As a ny transplant it sort of kills me that thus far one of the best pizzas I've had in WA was at this place! The sauce is so good! And the Italian beef!!!!!!! Super flavorful jus, delicious giardiniera, perfectly thin slices of tender beef...I'm going to be back ASAP.
Andy Werner
I have been waiting patiently all summer for West of Chicago to open up in its new Alaska Street location as it is across the street from our house. When we went the food does not disappoint! I had the meatball Chicago Pizza and it was excellent. The pizza is very filling and the small one is a full meal for one person. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I am excited to try the Italian Beef sandwich as well. Lovely place and excited to try it again!
Samuel Chen
Food was super good! Everyone there is super friendly, and the service was fast (especially for deep dish). A few friends from Chicago said this was the best deep dish on the west coast they've had so far which is high praise!
Sandy Ng
I ordered the pie for pick up so I cannot comment on the service or the atmosphere. The restaurant seemed cute and and a friendly environment from what I can tell only bring in there for a few minutes.
I had to order the pie online, they don't take phone orders. There was a nice surprise of a small discount for first time online order. That was nice and unexpected.
The pie was really good... I think we got the superfan. It was heavy.. tried to pick it up one handed and almost dropped it. Haha. So since we didn't eat it for almost 2 hours after I got it, it obviously wasn't as great as it could have been straight out of the oven. I did put it in the oven to heat up a bit.. but I couldn't get the cheese to be melty and stringy...
No deep dish pie I've had anywhere comes close to my first ever deep dish in Chicago.. a super random place we just stopped into. That was the best! West of Chicago is a close second. 😆 we'll be back to have the pie in the restaurant to eat it fresh out the oven so I can have that melty, stringy cheese. 😍

We got such AMAZING service here!! The pizza was great, filling and rich with that stretchy cheese factor, the house-made sausage dip was amazing, and the salad was made to order and fresh. The staff were SUPER nice and offered lots of guidance on what to order. Would 100% come back next time we're in the area.
Dan Gillmore
These pizzas are as large as they are delicious! We were lucky and snagged one of the meatball pizzas, and that was one of the most incredible things I've eaten in a long time. Shawn is a genuinely nice guy and clearly loves what he does. Excellent business.
Mark Cadigan
This place continues to shine! In the West Seattle neighborhood there’s no better experience. I’ve been in a handful of times and the owner Shawn and staff are always welcoming.
The deep dish is the best deep dish I’ve had, hard to find a better sauce in Seattle. The subs are amazing I find myself frequenting for the subs the most. The Angry Abe Froman was truly the best Italian sausage sandwich I’ve ever had. Give this spot a go you won’t be disappointed
Keilan Freeman
Tasty, true-to style Chicago deep dish! Friendly service. Solid value.
Mom and I split the tree hugger, and it was darn good. The tomato sauce is rich with Italian spices and more like a spaghetti sauce. The crust is pie-style, with a nice density and butter flavour. Plenty of delicious cheese and veggies as well. 9" was plenty for the two of us, and will actually probably be 1.5 meals for us.
Hattie Yang
I don’t normally like Chicago pizza but this pizza is really good! We got a sausage, pepperoni, and Mama’s lil peppers combo. The dough was cooked all the way through and had good browning on the bottom, and the sauce wasn’t sweet (so many pizza places in Seattle have sweet tomato sauce and it’s horrible). They don’t skimp on the toppings either.

Visiting Seattle from Oregon this weekend. Read about this place through the Seattle Met a few months ago. Truely a great Italian beef!! Next time going to try their deep dish!! Fantastic hole in the wall place!! Great food, great staff, was great!! Ohh and Jones Soda pop on tap, wam bam good!! Thank you.
Ignacio Barcinas
Can't really speak to the atmosphere because it was a pickup order but we were greeted by the owner who was super friendly and happy/tired from a busy pizza-making day.
I've never had a proper Chicago deep dish and I'm glad this was my first. I got the OG ... it was delicious and filling. Crust was surprising. I've never had a pizza crust that was a little cornbready.
I'll be back for more.
Brandon Orizotti
I’m telling you guys, some of the best Chicago style pizza I have ever had is right here in West Seattle! West of Chicago Pizza is our own local slice of deep dish heaven. Next time you’re thinking about pizza, skip Dominos, Pizza Hut, or any other and go with West of Chicago. You will not be disappointed. They also do thin crust for those that may not want deep dish. Fair pricing and we support our local restauranteurs to keep their delicious options alive. Why pay crazy prices for poor quality pizza when you could get amazing pizza. West of Chicago does what others can’t.
molly schlobohm
The food was good! I think they're still working on the timing of service. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table, which is totally fine. The issue was that a sandwich came out about 15 minutes before the Tavern style pizza. Since it was dipped the person had to eat it before it got too soggy. Just should have waited to fire that until the pizza was coming out.
jeff reader
ive been here two times now once dine in and once take out!! both times i have been super satisfied. the beef sandwich is a great starter to split while
you wait for the pizza. small pizza is good for two the large is good for two
days. owner guy and staff are really accomodating and nice. a local gem!!
Imminent Rueage
Was nice to have a deep dish pizza again. I would say the crust style is closest to Giordanos. Personally I prefer larger sausage chunks and a thicker flakier crust like UNO's but beggars can't be choosers. Look forward to visiting again.
Akesa F
Its a 40 minute wait if you order the deep dish pizza. You can order a salad with breadsticks while you wait.
The original deep dish was delicious! Full of flavor and cheese! It was worth the wait!!
I had the jones apple flavor soda that was very tasty!
The salad was yum but breadsticks were a bit hard.
Benjamin Grant
Awesome place. Delicious deep dish and thin crust. The owner recommended an off menu dip appetizer special that was delicious, too. The owner is super nice as is the staff. They have a physical location now which was very clean and spacious
Cynthia
Absolutely delicious and on spot for a Chicago deep dish pie. Even has a room available for private events.
Chris Smith
Great deep dish pizza, great tavern thin pizza and good Italian Beef sandwiches. The only reason to give 4 instead of 5 stars is the chairs are uncomfortable. Still will be out go-to joint in West Seattle.
Jared Douglas
First time at West of Chicago was perfect. Chatted with the lovely, helpful team and had a fantastic tavern thin crust with their housemade sausage. Can't wait to go back for the deep dish!
Priya Ball
Good family friendly pizza spot. Wait times are a bit long so come prepared if you have young children.
Erwan Le Moing
Great pizza. I've lived 10+ yrs in Chicago and this is the real deal. Very tasty, just need to work out some of the details for dine-in customers, but not big deal!
Patrick Fanning
Lovely. We've now had the deep dish and the thin crust. And the thin crust is thin! And the thin crust pizza is cut into squares, the way god intended it to be eaten... sauce is solid, and the sausage has a wonderful flavor. as a 50 year chicago resident, i can tell you that this is a solid representation of middle america pizza.
Judith Tegen
Went for pizza after our Grandson's basketball game. Had a two regular pizzas and a small Greek salad (enough for two). They were both delicious. For a Friday night the wait time was dhort.
PlatyMax 41
This is the best place for pizza in all of the Seattle area!! It is cooked to perfection every time and taste amazing... Yes even when it's cold the next day
Shelby Cade
The best deep dish pizza I ever had!!!!! I will always be coming back!!! The marinara was to die for and the meatballs were outstanding but the pizza crust !!!! Omg great!!!
Emily Zimmerman
Smooth online ordering and pick up process. (Maybe a little sketchy feeling- texting a # for your pizza is a new, but fun experience!). We had the original, as it seemed a good place to start. The sauce and meat toppings were flavorful and plentiful! The crust wasn't my favorite, but I am sure that is a matter of preference and not quality. I hope this business grows and expands! I will 100% order again!
Caroline Perry
I was thoroughly disappointed. Very mediocre pizza and received it unsliced. Crust tasted like cardboard, sauce was bland, and instead of receiving the advertised whole black olives I received sad, partially dried up pieces of olives.
Sara Wainwright-Feldman
I’m not a huge deep dish fan, but my husband is and, heck, its impossible to not like anything full of cheese, sauce and toppings. We used to go to Kylie’s and Wallingford Pizza Co back in the day and never found anything similar in Seattle. This place is legit. The sauce is AMAZING, there’s plenty of cheese and the crust is classic deep dish. They signature pies have nice variety as well. I am so happy to support a local guy making delicious pizza and I wish them great success!
Rob Watchman
We’ve been going for the deep dish and the Italian beefs, but don’t sleep on the tavern pizza! Figured we’d try something different the last time we went and it’s some of the best thin crust around!
Kartik Murthy
Great deep dish in a cozy space in west Seattle!
Jason Long
I love salt, but the sauce on the original/classic was too salty/seasoned. It's still enjoyable, but my mouth hurt afterwards.
Edit 1: Owner says it may be because the pasta sauce wasn't mixed well enough. I'll have to try again!
Edit 2: Got Plethora of Peppers this time and it was awesome! Still salty, but not "my mouth hurts" salty. Will definitely be visiting again.

I decided to try West of Chicago Pizza Company yesterday based on their blurb on the West Seattle Blog. I've had Chicago-style deep dish from several of the iconic chains in the windy city (Lou Malnati's, Pizzaria Uno, Giordano's). Our family even orders frozen Lou Malnati's frozen pies occasionally for special occasions. I wasn't sure what to expect for a deep dish pizza in Seattle, but this place exceeded my expectations! The homemade Italian sausage was delicious and the sauce was the right blend of sweet and savory. The crust was less buttery than Lou's, but I think my arteries will thank me for that later. The price also seems fair to me since the ~12" pizza is very hearty and easily feeds 3-4 hungry people. Overall, I recommend giving it a try if you're craving an authentic taste of Chicago.
Disclaimer: My rating is purely based on the flavor and quality of the food.
This place appears to be run out of a rental kitchen as they're getting started. The menu is limited to a handful of pizzas and an option to build your own, choosing from about a dozen toppings. Also, it's pick-up only. I'll be patient on the owner setting up the rest of the restaurant infrastructure - the product makes it worth the wait.
Kerry Meade
We tried the Italian beef tavern style and a mama’s meatball deep dish—both were delicious! We will definitely be regularly ordering from here.
Ivan Blanco
No, there is no place to sit. There isn't even a restaurant, per se. Yes, you should probably order ahead of time online. This is a walk-up window, and the traffic getting to West Seattle in rush hour may be brutal, but if you can stomach the drive and having to find a place to sit and enjoy your bounty, you'll be rewarded with the best Chicago Style pizza west of the Mississippi.
Is it worth the hassle, let alone the $27? Buddy, this pizza is worth repeated sackings off the Sears Tower by Khalil Mack into a frozen Lake Michigan, so bring your broad shoulders on down and enjoy.
Christina Sherry
This pizza is AWESOME! And there are lots of places for pizza in and around West Seattle. A great balance of ingredients and amazing crust. Give yourself a treat, I’ll definitely be back!
Gregg B
Unquestionably authentic Chicago style pies, and a top contender for best in Seattle. The sauce is thick, the meat is filling, and the crust is baked to perfection. Five out of five stars easy.
Side note: you currently have to dial in via the window- there's no restaurant front door. Look for the row of glowing red/green buttons and hit the Pizza one!
Greg Keyser
Just go, you won't regret it.
Daniel DePaolo
Excellent deep dish pizza. The crust has a nice texture and the pepperoni and peppers filling we got was really tasty. Easy to order online and the pickup was seamless too.
Daniel Decker
As someone born and raised in Chicago, I can say this was a decent representation of Chicago tourist pizza (deep dish and pan pizza, most Chicagoans eat tavern style thin crust). It was a bit on the salty side but the sausage was of good quality. However, I must also say that of the places in Seattle that partake in making Chicago tourist pizza, this would probably only come in second place in my opinion.
Tabatha Koerperick
Delicious! Absolutely awesome deep dish. Great, friendly service too.
Justin Applegate
I enjoyed the pizza. Would go again. Sauce had good flavor. Crust had good texture. Overall nice meal.
Ruth Reiser
We wanted to give this deep dish pizza place a try after falling in love with deep dish since our Chicago days. We ordered the original since we wanted to try their signature dish first and see how well that fared before expanding on to their other pizza choices. It wasn't cut, like I noticed some people saying, but a pie really shouldn't be cut until you get it home or everything slides around and become a big mush mess. The crust was buttery and nicely crisp, like a good pie crust, and the sauce was excellent. We loved the flavor and since it's the first one in your mouth, it was a nice surprise. We also liked the ratio of cheese to sauce and other ingredients. We really didn't taste the onion, but it must have done its magic, because everything tasted really balanced. I would have used a different kind of sausage, maybe one with a little more spice, but this was fine. All and all, a fun experience and a different way to pick up pizza. It's a little expensive, but there are a lot of pizza places that are close to that for a large and you will get filled up just eating a 1/8 slice. Yay! I love leftover pizza for breakfast!
Sresan Thevarajah
I forgot to take pictures again but this place is as good as ever. The Italian beef is amazing, it’s an explosion of flavor in your mouth.
Kyle Levy
Best deep dish in the PNW, bar none. The sauce is zesty, the crust is nice and golden brown. All of the ingredients are high quality. To top it off, the owner's a nice guy too. All around a great place.
kevin elberts
From a former Chicagoan, this place does it right. Thin crust is just how it should be - this is what you get on pizza night for the family. Gonna be a regular for us.
C
This sauce is not sweet… it was yummy! The pizza was delicious. The chef was very helpful in answering my questions and accommodating my requests. Will definitely be back.
Sam Harrison
Visited Chicago a few times and tried their top reviewed deep dish pizzas. This place may be better than any I’ve had out there. Friendly owner and delicious deep dish. 100% recommend
Sean Ramsey
My "original " pizza weighed 4lbs. 8oz. Hefty pie! Divided it into 8pcs. and 2 Slices stuffed me. Stuffed! Flavor. Delicious. The homemade sauce I found delightful because it wasn't so sweet it was wierd, more tangy, savory and you could taste the tomatoes in it. The sausage was merely spectacular. And cheese.... plenty. A++ Shawn! I'll be back for more definitely!
Steve Chen
Love their pizza! Crust is perfect, toppings are fresh, sauce is delicious. The owner is super chill and really cares about the pizzas he's putting out. I'm already a repeat customer and will be back for more.
Josh Busch
Had one of everything (shared), beef sandwich, meatball sandwich, deep dish and tavern style ...all were excellent!
Wade Wilson
This is an insanely good pizza place. Best Chicago style pizza I've had in all my travels. The momma's peppers are AMAZING. Any chance we could add basil and balsamic glaze to the toppings choices? I'd kill for a pineapple, basil, balsamic glaze pizza from this place.
Yo, owner, if you have an enemy, hook me up with that pizza and I'll handle it for you. 🥰
john kamin
This pizza is amazing. So authentic Chicago deep dish - nails it. A work of art!
T Hayes
Authentic Chicago deep dish pizza! Super tasty, short hours but worth the trip.
Chas Burgess
As a Chicago native who grew up with pizza as it's own group, when I heard of this place I had to try. I read other reviews on here and was a little skeptical on both sides. To start, this pizza has the right ratio of ingredients and presentation. Other "deep dish" pizza places refer to pizza's as pies and just give you thick piece of pizza without any of the real deep dish components of it. The popular, Windy City Pies, is just like this. They make great pizza but it's so far off from what deep pizza is that it's false advertisement if you know what real deep dish is and go in expecting it. The pizza from West of Chicago had quality ingredients, crust, weight, and structure. Some people talk about the pizza not being cut as an issue but this is normal if it's to go orders in Chicago based on how big pizza is so to stay intact. There were two misses with this deep dish pizza, the first being the meat. When you order a deep dish with sausage or pepperoni the meat should completely cover the cheese layer. The meat isn't a topping so much as it's a layer and if you see an authentic deep dish pizza being made at a place such as Lou Malnatis, you'll see when they make the pizza that after the meat is added you can't see the cheese underneath. I ordered the original from West of Chicago and like traditional pizza, it was more so randomly placed on there. The second issue for me was the sauce which other reviewers speak to as being too salty. I'm inclined to agree although I couldn't tell if it was too much salt or too much of a seasoning but in either case it was almost too strong not at all similar too the taste of Chicago based pizza establishments. If the sauce wasn't so strong I would definitely go back because everything else about it was great. For those in Seattle wanting to try the closest thing to deep dish pizza without being in Chicago or shipping it in (which you can do) I recommend Delfinos. They're slightly off on the crust but overall the closest to the real thing.
Chris Lew
My partner is a born Chicagoan and said this is the best Chicago style pizza he's had in Seattle. The cheese is thick and the right pull. The sauce has the perfect balance — not too sweet. The crust has the cornmeal crunch (could use a little more butter but that's a preference). And walking up, you can smell the green can parmesan smell wafting in a good way. Just a warning, the pick-up window was a little hard to locate. Will definitely order again.
Tanya Houle
I have found my favorite Chicago Style pie. They pies we ordered were the Original and build your own with 4 toppings. Our whole family were pleased as well as our grandbabies, 1 & 3 yrs old. The pictures stand true, the taste is like no other and it is worth the wait.
Matthew Soucoup
Easily the best deep dish pizza in Seattle ... really, probably the best pizza. From the OG to Mama's Meatballs to the Plethora of Peppers to the Antichrist - they've all been stellar. Just tried a meatball sub last week too - take my money!
Agnes Richmond
I have never had a chicago's deep-dish pie...but I believe this is IT! So good, it was worth the 27 min drive. Thanks West family! Stay safe 😷😁 only one thing that would make it better like you need too...lol small deserts..chocolate lava cake? 🥰 …
Adam Argento
Oh man, this place is awesome. Dude who runs it is super friendly but more to the point, his pizzas taste incredible. The crust has a robust flavor of its own which our family loves and the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves: rich and aromatic and satisfying. We're always happy customers when we order at West of Chicago Pizza Company!
J Larson
Food was awesome, service was stellar. The staff and owner are super friendly and helpful.
Adam Putter
Best Chicago deep dish in Seattle. The sauce is amazing and, the crust is perfect and it reheats well to eat for several meal. On top of that you have to love the owner and his hustle. A one man show making it happen. If you haven’t tried this deep dish yet what are you waiting for? It’s a must try.

Drove an hr to try my first authentic Chicago style pizza and it was worth the trip. The only negative will be the next pizza just won't compare. Pizza was over the top delicious 😋 …
Lance Rasmussen
While prices are a little high, I think their quality of product and ingredients appear high.
When you order, be sure to tell them you want your pizza sliced. I've never been to a pizza place that didn't slice ahead of time, but apparently after getting home and seeing my unsliced pie, I must have missed the memo.
I got the original. Crust has flavor. The sausage has a nice spice and flavor. There's quite a bit of sauce, which is ok, however was very highly over salted. I'm not sure if there wasn't thought about the salt with the other ingredients or if the chef's taste buds are off. It made it tough to get past half of a second slice and had to stop. I went through 32 ounces of water to try and compensate.
My wife, who is a little more heavy handed with salt also commented about the high salt levels. She's a big deep dish pizza fanatic and she was dissapointed because of this.
T.D. Womack
Really tasty deep-dish option on the west side. The crust was crispy and buttery, even though it was a bit high compared to the mix of goodness it was holding. Overall the deep-dish was great - ordered an artichoke, sausage and garlic - flavors were all there and fresh. Even better after a few days cold or warmed.

If you want deep dish in Seattle… this is your spot! Kind people and great pies.
Nicole Baich
Nothing but crumbs left!! Hands down the best Chicago style this town could ever hope to offer AND .. it's fighting for the #2 spot in my all-time category. Easy to order, quick to pick up, and a real Chicago style guy working the window. Felt like I was back home for 90 seconds.
Pizza pro-tip: a dusting of red pepper flakes on top of the original AND wait to eat until it's closer to room temp. Something about the ingredients firming up multiples the flavor.

Every so often you encounter something in nature that takes your breath away. This place is exactly that... just not really in nature... more just in this place on Delridge. If you like Paxti's in Ballard but you hate paying tons and waiting around for an hour, then this is for you. If you love real Chicago style deep dish pizza, then this place is for you. If you love eating until you need to change into sweat pants, then this place is for you.
Great food, made by an honest dude, nothing fancy. There is nothing more West Seattle out there in the world than this place.

My boyfriend loves this place😆 I used to think the pizzas are just okay, but the more I try it, the more I start to like it more!
Make sure to order ahead online!

Edit: these guys have earned 5 stars. The pizza is very good overall, though I stand by my opinion that the other style (more carmelized) of crust offered by Breezy Town/ Windy City is better!
Original review:
4 stars is a “for-now” rating based on the newness of this business. They’re clearly just getting started, so I plan to give them another try in a few weeks. As a funny example, their pizza boxes currently don’t close all the way because the first batch they bought aren’t tall enough for the pizza! The business is in its infancy, and requires you to order online for pickup from a sketchy, unmarked side entrance to an industrial kitchen.
For now, the pizza is pretty good, certainly better than ordering domino’s, but it did not strike me as anything special. In contrast, the first time I tried Windy City (aka Breezy Town) pizza, I was astounded by how good it was. Windy City started out with the same pickup-only business model, but their pizza started out much stronger from day 1... So that’s my rating for now —objectively West of Chicago is pretty decent, but if you’re expecting a Windy City pie you’ll be disappointed. West has neither the amazing parmesan crust, nor the amazing toppings (e.g. candied bacon) that I’ve grown to associate with a Chicago style pizza. I’d call the crust at West more “tall and thin”, in the sense that it’s not actually all that thick, it just has a tall edge. The flavor of the toppings was overall good, so if the crust improves they could really have something here.

Awesome pizza, awesome service! Best deep dish pizza I’ve had outside Chicago proper, and recently when a scheduling error meant the pizza was going to be a half hour late they gave us the pie for free. We’re committed regulars and will continue to be, this place is terrific!

Excellent pizza and an easy ordering process. I'm definitely not what would you call an expect on Chicago pizza in the slightest but our order was delicious. I was not used to the crispness of the crust, but I'm told it's definitely authentic. We'll be ordering again.

Reminds me exactly of Ginos east pizza back when I lived in Chicago. I get the vegetarian pie w spinach and it’s excellent and a great value. Fed us and our neighbors and their kid and still had left overs. I don’t know what the review by the infatuation (comes up on google search) is talking about when they dissed their crust. Whatever.
I was craving the cornmeal crust I remembered and it delivered.

Great west coast Chicago deep dish!
Just the right amount of cheese, tomato sauce, meat (or veggies) and crust. My friends, family and I wolfed it down. The ordering and pickup process is really easy - don't be worried about that if you are wondering. Just make sure you bring your cellphone with you to text them that you are outside.

Very tasty! The sauce is great! I’m full from just 1 slice.

I've never had deep dish pizza before, so I can't compare and contrast vs. other shops. I just know it's delicious. We will be returning.

Amazing pizza! Love supporting local restaurants ❤️

Delicious!!! Reminded me of the first chicago style pizza i enjoyed while visiting the windy city. I have tried many since and this one came the closest! The sauce was perfect ratio to toppings and the flakey crust was the bomb!!!

Finally, great Chicago-style pizza in West Seattle!! When the owner opened the box to show me my fresh pizza, he said "I hope you love it as much as I do!" He definitely takes pride in his pizzas.
Judy Rittman
I just loooooove this pizza! We order as often as possible. Great service, consistent quality and owner is prompt to reply to emails. Please support this small business. My vote for best pizza in Seattle!
David Russell
Amazing, delicious chicagoan art in delectible food form. Perfect!!
Mark Jaris
The original is fantastic, loved everything about the pizza, but oh buddy, the sauce was the best i have had, it had the perfect level of heat and almost had me finishing a whole pizza in one go! Also you coulnt get deep dish this good for this price anywhere in chicago.
Matt J
I am addicted to this place! I have driven from Olympia to get this pizza several times. I always do the BYO that mimics the original but with extra cheese. The last few bites of that thick crust with the cheese wedged in there is heaven.
Uriah DORIAN
Crust can be better, didn't have a great flavor.
Hayden Amaro
Super good pizza - and a good deal too compared to Pagliaci or Zeeks. Pizza was $27 or so but it must weigh like... 6-7 pounds? I dunno. I had the Tree Hugger and it was delicious.
Adam Busbin
Absolutely amazing. A real effort of love. One of the best pies I have ever have. This place is a real gem.
Michael Berens
Make sure you order early because they sell fast!! Really amazing pastry crust. Lots of rich developed flavors in the sauce. Not skimpy with the cheese for sure.
Noah Nielsen
I've ordered from West Of Chicago several times and the pizzas have always been solid. You can't go wrong with the original!

Want the very best luck in business for this guy for no other reason than my own selfish need of being able to get his food at totally-normal-business-hours o’clock. I wasn’t a Chicago style pizza person before this. Now I crave it and can’t have it on a Tuesday!
Christopher Dempewolf
Very tasty pizza and Italian subs.
Colin Miller
Phenomenal deep dish pizza. I've had deep dish in Chicago and around Seattle and this is honestly my favorite. I highly recommend the Tree Hugger!
Hannah-Rose Crabtree
So amazing! Do you see the layer of cheese, oh my goodness you have to try this for yourself!
Sergio Coleman
Best deep dish pizza around! It's a 2 hour round trip drive for me and it's worth every minute!

Thick on the cheese to please

The pizza was good, but not “great”. It was almost too saucey, which I didn’t think I would ever say. We got The Original. We will definitely try it again, but maybe a different pie. The crust was uh-mazing.
Keith Glasch
Go for the tavern style thin crust. It’s amazing.
Wayne Tegen
Excellent pizza 🍕 …
Vlada H
Amazing deep dish pizza!!! The thin crust pizza and bread sticks are also great. Clean restaurant and friendly staff.
Ray Beck
Deep dish pizza was awesome. My daughter liked the thin tavern style pizza. Very friendly guys working. I need to come back to try the Italian beef sandwich!

Finally got a chance to try out this highly recommended Chicago style pizza place in West Seattle. I have lived in Chicago and have eaten Giordanos countless times and can say West of Chicago pizza company does a very good job of getting a taste of mid-west pizza here in PNW.
We ordered The Original and the sausage, pepperoni and above all their sauce was delicious. Their ingredients taste really fresh. They take 40 mins to have your pizza ready for pickup and it is worth the wait. If you create an account on their website, you get 10% off your first online order. I am not a huge deep dish pizza fan but Giordanos & West of Chicago pizza company certainly do a great job of getting me hooked on to this style of pizza. All in all, we loved our chicago style pizza for dinner and had plenty of leftovers too. Highly recommend.
Marc Tegen
I only wish you could call in to order the Chicago style
Antonio Lagarde
The Pizza wasn't the greatest, but also not the worst I've had. The dip was good however and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
David W
I didn't think I was a deep dish guy... but this is some of the best pizza I've had in a while. There are a lot of options in west Seattle but this is currently up there on my list
