Reviews of The Victor Tavern - 6th & Lenora

I visted this place with my wife last week. We were excited about this place but it was a miss for us. The restaurant is beautiful and has great ambience. But the burger we ordered fell shorter on our expectations. The chicken burger was a bit dry and the double beef burger had less seasoning than what I prefer. That said, they have great dessert and fries were good. I would go again to try other burgers if I get a chance.

Bustling bistro/burger bar with a mix of classics and new dishes. My brussel sprouts were charred and tasty, and the French dip was well executed.
Service is the standout - the restaurant was full, and our wait staff were hustling to get our drinks and food orders to us - grace under pressure!

Visited the Victor Tavern with a few friends, we didn’t have a reservation but were seated right away. Staff was really friendly and service was fast. We ordered brussel sprouts as an app, it was really delicious! Ordered a veggie burger for my main with a side of fries which was good and filling! Definitely gave a sports bar type of vibe, fun atmosphere. Price $$-$$$. Highly recommend checking it out!

I had the Pike Pilsner and the Truffle Smash burger. They were both great. I indulged and had the fries and they were crispy, hot and fantastic. The place is open and airy. If you’re looking for a dive, this ain’t it, but the food is good and reasonably priced.

A very good burger but very pricey. Menu notes the burgers a served medium by default but mine was well done so wasn’t as juicy as it could have been. I ordered the Cowboy Up (BBQ burger) and it was $19, expensive for what you get but still good. Also, a 4% pandemic surcharge on top of that!
Service was a bit slow (waited almost 10 minutes to order) but the waitress was very friendly.

We got the victory burger and clam chowder. Both were delicious. Clam chowder came with salad and bread and was a good portion. Would recommend eating here

Good food and booze. Amazing French Dip Sandwich. Nice open atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff.

Not too busy at 8:30pm, which was nice after two other restaurants in the area turned me away as full. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. The wedge salad was tasty, but the chunk of lettuce was half the size it is anywhere else I order it. As the least expensive ingredient in the dish, I expected more. Polenta fries were good - crispy outside and good flavor/texture inside. I didn't care for the aoli, fortunately there was enough leftover bleu cheese from my salad for dipping. Raspberry sorbet was good, nice and tart. The fennel pollen cookie was interesting - it would have paired better with a cream based ice cream.

It was the service that ripped this to a 5-star. Spot on, friendly without be disingenuous and quick. Great beer, chill ambiance and just a relaxed cool vibe. We had the steak salad which was massive and delish! And also the Tavern Chopped salad. Now, usually this can be a no-fail item but it was so good. Very light dressing and the boiled egg was perfect!!! That’s how you know the kitchen knows what they’re doing - it was ever-so slightly soft - none of this grey yolk and rubber whites. Anyhow, great place without the hype for a casual meal and brew.
