Reviews of Tavolàta Capitol Hill
Anastasia Bekris
We love this place for its appetizers, amazing pasta, and must-order dessert, Zeppole. Great service and beautiful lighting coming through the large windows, it’s a perfect date night spot.
Parking Note: Street parking only. Up the hill from the restaurant are some residential spots which are free with a 2 hour limit.

Really good expensive Italian. Worth the price. I got the spaghetti and I've never been a fan of spaghetti, but apparently it's because I haven't had this one because it was amazing. Try it out.

I am torn with this spot . I came here initially because the pasta menu was simple and to the point and they delivered …….even though the pasta was home made it was cooked perfectly al dente . I ordered the spaghetti which came with anchovies , mint, lemon and cheese …… delicious!!!! The chickpea appetizer was underwhelming.
However the service and ambiance was on point . I would typically give a place like this 4stars at minimum but I’m not craving coming back for the food for whatever reason …….

Tried the semolina based gnocchi. It was delicious. Robust tomato sauce, perfectly browned cheese and a side of chili flakes. The prices are a little high for the quantity, and they apply a pandemic surcharge as well, but the food is delicious.

Can’t go wrong here. Super flavorful and generous portions. The happy hour menu is awesome also!
Bruce Cooper
Great ambiance and service. The rigatoni was a favorite, it had a nice kick and great flavor. Ricotta ravioli with corn was great as well but not as flavorful. The Frank the Tank red blend was quite good.
Kelsey Wu
delicious pasta (we loved the pappardelle and the gnocchi) and really friendly staff! loved our experience here - great vibes overall

Came here for the first time recently as I've passed it many times while in Seattle. Nestled on the corner of Pine st and summit with easy street parking, I highly recommend this place. The open kitchen layout and spacious dining atmosphere really gives off a classic yet modern vibe.
With so many options on the menu I decided to try the pappardelle with a side salad. I truly love the wide noodles and they were cooked al dente , just how I like it!
Victor Huang
Their Gnocchi alla romana was really delicious!
Their servers were really accommodating, and they helped us out our friend's birthday cake in their fridge, and cut it for as after we blew the candle

Honestly everything is good here. Sharing is caring and its best to just point randomly at about 7-10 menu items and enjoy the ride. You can’t go wrong here.

I had an absolutely wonderful time dining at this beautiful Capitol Hill restaurant. The food was absolutely perfect, way beyond my expectations for the price. My server Marcus was absolutely outstanding. Very attentive, respectful, and best of all, accommodating. It is rare to find such a professional, caring and passionate restaurant employee who clearly loves his job. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. I traveled into Seattle and was skeptical about where to eat as I’m very picky about quality and the general atmosphere, and also about how I would be treated given that I’m a blind man. I was recommended this restaurant by a dear work colleague of mine and I could not be more happy with his choice! Please pass my appreciation along to the chefs and my wonderful server, and the rest of the dining staff!
Bon appétit!

I come here at least once a week-you cannot beat their happy hour! The smoked fish bruschetta, the salad, the homemade spaghetti noodles, the paparadelle, it’s honestly hard to choose so come with several people interested in sharing plates. The ambiance is phenomenal, the food is the best of its kind in the city, and the staff is always friendly and unpretentious. Couldn’t love it more. Easily top 5 favorite restaurants in the city for the immaculate food and vibes.

Food was good and service was great, but they have a 4% fee tacked on top of the bill that is included in small print on the menu.
No one would still expect this fee, and it seems dishonest to still have it. They should just increase their prices to include the fee if necessary. Nowhere else seems to still have this fee.
Open to returning, but they'd have to remove that fee and price it into the menu prices instead.
Angelique Humcke
Had the clam and garlic spaghetti, chicken meatballs, and salmon bruschetta, which were all delicious (the bruschetta being the best). It was at the higher end of my budget for the evening, but the portions seem really great for sharing. Sat at the bar and had friendly, prompt service.
Valerie Bleis
Their pappardelle is to die for especially the sauce. I’ve had loads of Italian cuisine especially in Europe, and I could say this definitely comes close! The next place would be Eataly and I mean the restaurant/market. Anyhow, I love their bruschetta, wine is good and so is their desert! Yum will be going again there tomorrow!

My friends and I went here. The service was good, waiter was nice. Our food did take a while to come out but I assumed it was because we had more people in our party. We had the rigatoni with sausage. The rigatoni itself was cooked well. The sauce was ok, not much flavor to it. The sausage really saved the plate in my opinion, added the flavor that the sauce and noodles were lacking.
I will say, the caciocavallo spread they have with their macarina bread is so good! Liked the spread more than my dinner!
Overall, decent service, i liked the atmosphere. Food is just ok but not a bad option for those looking for a nice dinner.

After a week in Seattle and having some delicious meals every night this place is still my favorite. Italian food is my favorite type of food and I love trying different gnocchi’s. I was able to try both kinds of gnocchi and both were delicious. I’m not sure if i have ever had softer gnocchis that just melt in your mouth. The service is always terrific and the restaurant has a great vide and ambiance.

Food was great in general. My main reason for eating here was to try out the four course meal for two with the wagyu steak. The steak was served last and chef recommended medium rare, which was way too fatty for me. I had two bites and reached my limit. I had wagyu steak in Japan twice and really enjoyed it each time. Not here. Just because how it was prepared made it too fatty for my taste. I would recommend medium for this steak.

Had a beautiful dinner with some girlfriends at Tavolata this evening for Seattle restaurant week. The food was absolutely delicious! This was my first time time to the Capitol Hill location. They had a really nice atmosphere and while the bar opened up to the seating area we were in for dinner the noise level was very comfortable. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated that she was candid about the way restaurant week menu items come out which was nice. The bread, appetizers and entrees were all really good. I would come back here another time to check out the full menu. Overall a great meal. Looking forward to the patio here in the summer.

We were out celebrating a birthday and got reservations for some late evening dining. The place was hopping, so a reservation made it simple. They offer a fun and very creative menu of Italian pastas. If you enjoy an adventure of amazing tastes and textures, this is your place. I opened with some Beef Carpaccio. A lovely presentation of ultra thinly sliced tenderloin with arugula, parmesan, and lemon. A very nice flavorful starter. For the main course I was intrigued by the Paccheri. Anything with Octopus invites some incredible tastes. This large tube like pasta was blended with N'duja that brought a slight spiciness but not overpowering. Tomato, fennel, taggiasca olives, basil and bread crumbs, combine to let every bite bring a little something extra. Portions are hearty, several in our party took home leftovers. Service staff was friendly and engaging, which all made for a fun evening out.

We went for the first time to Tavolata for Seattle restaurant week. I have to say, parts of the meal were wonderful, but some of it left much to be desired. For our appetizers, we ordered the bruschetta with chicken liver mousse and the spring salad with peas, prosciutto, and creme fraiche. Amazing! Both were delicious, as was the fresh baguette with olive oil/balsamic and parmesan/garlic spread. However, the entrees and dessert were disappointing, considering the good ratings and reviews we had seen. I had the rigatoni with sausage, which was chewy and overworked. My guy got the potato gnocchi with lamb, which was much too salty (and he loves salty foods). The Lemon Zeppole and the Panna Cotta desserts were unimpressive and lacked the depth of flavor you would expect from a restaurant with that price range. We might give it another shot at some point, as we think the hype of Seattle Restaurant Week got the best of them. Give it a try and see what you think!
Jason Beem
Amazing experience at Tavolata! The food was amazing (especially the Torta Fritta, very addicting). Service was world class and overall environment was great! This is now added to my regular restaurants to go to.
Bob Lee
Fantastic dinner with SRW menu. One miss was the 1/2 undercooked salmon, which was still delicious. After telling the server about the less-than-perfect salmon, my wife got her portion of the dinner reduced. That’s awesome in my book! Will have go back for HH.
Joe DeCarlo
Great atmosphere, the food was excellent. Happy hour menu had a great mix of their full menu.
Vickie Ji
Fan of ESR. First time trying Tavolata did not disappoint. 🤩 deliciously good looking 💙 …
Gal Amir
Mmmmm. Ok. I mean, cute atmosphere, food is ok. If you do go there I think the gnocchi is the best option. The pasta is al dente which I don’t mind, but this one was leaning towards undercooked. Also, they put pork in my dish and didn’t mention it in the menu. Lucky I noticed the taste. All in all, it’s ok...
Laura Ingrao
If you’re looking for your homemade pasta fix this is the place. I would recommend coming during happy hour since prices are way more affordable and the portion is the same for pasta. Each time I’ve come I always got the ragu and it’s been great each time.
Melissa Tofaeono
Happy hour is the best time to go! You get to try a little bit of everything for half the price. The food is amazing! I have yet to order something that I did not like. I give this place 5 stars anyday!!!
Steve T
Nice place for Happy Hour. They have a few outdoor tables and a good HH menu with drinks and food. Servers were nice and fast.
Hayden Smith
My wife and I tried this based on a recommendation from my brother claiming it was the best Italian ever. It was amazing. I asked for potato gnocchi with a tomato sauce which is not on the menu, they did it for me and it was phenomenal! My wife enjoyed her asparagus ravioli and the dessert was great. Would highly recommend
Judy Ogden
Very generous portions of delicious courses for Seattle Restaurant week. We took our dessert to go! All the staff were amazing!
kathryn mussallem
Two words... HAPPY HOUR!!! The best deal in town on the most amazing food. Beautiful pastas, innovative salads, this second location is just as good as the first. Generous portions of tasty homemade pasta.
Todd Mulvihill
The food and atmosphere are fantastic. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Dining options range from bar to booth to shared table. Great place to end the day.
Bryan Birn
Great food, great service. Don't miss the Gnocchi alla Romana, it was absolutely delicious. Two small pasta dishes were enough to fill two of us up, so make sure to not over-order!
Nik Kontrimas
Good pasta but a bit overpriced for what it is. I enjoy the classic spaghetti and meatballs as well as the carbonara when they have it on the menu
Derrick An
Great food. Great service. Servers were super friendly and personable. Food came out slower than expected but we had plenty of to relax and chat on their outdoor seating area. Highly recommend their whole sea bass when available.
K B
Good vibes and good service at this Italian restaurant.
The risotto was a little firm and seemed slightly undercooked, but the flavor was still really good. The gnocchi was a little too salty (this seems to be a common issue among dishes at this restaurant based on other reviews), but good otherwise.
Definitely make sure you try the smoked fish bruschetta. It was *chefs kiss*, easily the best dish we ordered. Would order this over the pasta dishes any day -- would honestly even order this as my main next time I stop by.
Jason Kaczmarsky
Excellent bar service with delicious food. I got the pork saltimbocca which actually ended up be 2 chops that were massive. It was very good with the fig agrodulce!
Crystal
I love the rigatoni. It always satisfies my pasta craving. The meat sauce is delicious and who doesn’t like a pile of cheese.
Christi Balaki
Great Italian food with an equally amazing happy hour! My favorite items here are the gnocchi, and the paperdelle.
Customer123
We ordered take-out tonight and everything was so delicious! We got the baguette with garlic herb butter & olive oil, buccatini (with pancetta, YUM!), and the lemon zeppole donuts for dessert. The donuts were soft, fluffy pillows and all three of us loved them. I always give a little more understanding if food is sub par when I get it to-go because I know what putting food in a box vs on a plate for immediate consumption will do to food, but I was super impressed by how well everything held up to the take-out process. We loved it and highly recommend!
Kyuho Kim
Enjoyed three of their happy hour menu. Reasonable price and really good taste. Nice interior too. Totally worth a visit.
Cici S
I ordered the gnocchi alla romana and my partner ordered the papardelle. Both were fine but nothing spectacular. Additionally, service was fine. Overall, I think it was a decent place but not worth the price tag. Additionally, there is currently a 4% Covid surcharge being added to bills, which is understandable but I wish we had been given notice on the menu or from our waiter before it showed up our bill.
Kunwar Digraj Singh Jain
Great food, amazing service, good for the price. Perfect place for a date night.
Colin Katagiri
Sat at the bar. Good friendly service and delicious food. Mostly just ordered off the small plates and grabbed a couple cocktails to share with a friend. Bruschetta and smoked fish was delicious, paired with some smoky mezcal. I really liked the asparagus. And I'm definitely interested in going back to try their gnocchi.
Maura Kluthe
Split the gnocchetti, NY strip steak and tonnarelli with my boyfriend. Everything was delicious. Ingredients were impeccable and the flavors were astounding. We are out of towners from STL and were wanting a nicer place to eat. And we found it all at Tavolàta.
Drew P.
You gotta try the meatballs on the side... A little salty, but seriously delicious anyway. My bf had the nettle pesto and I had the rigatoni. Fantastic portions and flavor. Apps were also pretty good, although I could do without the rhubarb. Above all the service is just the best. Our server provided some tips for where to visit in the community, since we recently moved. She made our visit feel special. Even though we were too full to visit her recommendations, we will definitely be back.
Stefanie Potgieter
DELICIOUS! can't wait to go back. Only negative? Teeny dirty martini, but for the scrumptious pasta, I guess I'll take my tiny beverage.
Yaeka Katsuta
Well balanced flavors, perfectly cooked pasta, and shmantzy cocktail for a delightful evening with friends
Mari Vel
I had a wonderful first time experience here. Their almond croissant was super yummy!
Gina Nichole
Our main course was great. I had the campanelle with mushrooms and my wife had the porkchop. The cocktails were mediocre and watered down.
Patricia Warden
Food was excellent and huge portions. I got spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were surprisingly good considering they were chicken. Boyfriend got the anchovy pasta and it smelled like a garbage can but he really enjoyed it. He said if you like anchovies you would like the pasta. We ate outside and it was a nice area with decent breeze. Would recommend!

Update 2022 (review below late 2020). Foods gone downhill. Prices are way up which is understandable but the food portions are down such that all parties left hungry. I've gotten grilled octopus a few times and the latest iteration was literally 4 bites of what seemed like boiled octopus chunks. I got it for my meal (not a starter) because I've had it in the past and it was substantial. My husband ate a bite or two and I was like, "you ate all my octopus?!" And he was like, "I literally ate 1 bite." I had 3, so yeah 4 bites. It used to be what, 12 bites?
Hubby said pasta was less than normal, he wanted more. He's a light eater so if he leaves hungry it means something.
Anyway I came home and ate leftovers after I went out for a meal where cost per head was $100+ (with drinks). We've been several times and unfortunately this was bad enough, not sure we will be back.
2020:
All of the food was excellent. Had a patio space with heaters. Felt covid safe.
David G
This place was good, but seem a bit expensive for what it was. Good pasta, good service. I'm trying to write a good review for you all, but can't really remember any specifics about this place to expand on. Guess that says a lot. Ayyeee

Overview:
Very happy with my visit to this restaurant. We had reservations and we immediately seated. The place has a nice vibe and ambience during during dinner time. The staff was very nice to us and the bartender knew his liquor!
Food:
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I was here with several friends so we decided to do family style and share all the plates. We started off with bruschetta with smoked salmon and the brussel sprouts which were a good start. We turn ordered the spaghetti, rigatoni, gnocchi alla romana, and the paperdellie. I recommend them all but the rigatoni is awesome. Additionally, this is one of the great places if you're also a fan of old fashions, the bar tender makes an excellent one.
Garrett Michaud
Usually go there for dates with my wife and will continue to for the exceptional blend of quality ingredients, service, atmosphere, and fresh takes on classic dishes. Big fan of Ethan Stowell Restaurants yet this is one of our favorites of his and we keep coming back. Consistent excellence in dining.
Chris Nicoletti
High quality Italian food, salads were excellent and really decent wine. Service was also perfect. I will go back for sure.
kevin julius
Went to Tavolata, for restaurant week, with a friend, Staff was wonderful. Our dinner was enjoyable, but we left still hungry. But excellent, had the roasted pork and Risotto.. it's worth a another vistis.
Nicole Grieble
Been here many times and it's always amazing. The rigatoni is my absolute favorite but my boyfriend loves the gnocchi. The service is always excellent and the cocktails are great. They have outdoor seating too. Perfect for a date night or celebration dinner. Highly recommend!
Annie Ramsey-Shearer
We love ESR!! We've been to the other tavolata locations and they're all delicious! Similar to HTCAW it did feel a little salty though, and I do love salt. Otherwise food is delicious! I think they were a little understaffed (as most restaurants are at this time) our waitress wasn't able to make it in time to clear our appetizer plates so when the entrees came there was no room on the table and it was a little always. Not a huge deal though. She also didn't come by to see how the food was, but I think it's just because they're short staffed. We definitely would still come back! I had burrata, carbonara (labeled as spaghetti) and their raspberry sorbet. All delicious! And huge portions for the pasta.
Angela Reed
Is there room for a couple more stars? If there were they'd receive them. I really enjoyed my meal and the service was exceptional.
I've eaten Italian food in old world Boston where the recipe for everything is generations old and every detail is attended to. Flavor, presentation, service and atmosphere. This place has a very similar attention to every detail is the newer spin on Italian cuisine. The chicken ravioli is symphony of squash and house cooked noodles with kale chips and hazelnuts with the most amazing sauce (?). Maybe it's too light to be called sauce?
I watched meatballs the size of a baby fist walking by. I saw a board of meat and cheese with olive dip that made me wish I'd ordered it as well.
I will definitely be sharing this experience with others in my life. I hope they always pay this much attention to detail and service.
Vivien Zoller
Super delicious food and amazing I mean amazing limoncello, Locally made too (I need that name cause it was too good to pass up again).
Very great customer service, excellent food and the atmosphere was welcoming.
maxine nielson
We had a great dinner and the best drinks. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so nice and took such good care of us. Thank you to him for making our experience more pleasant.
Amber Medico
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The food was unique and delicious as were the drinks. Service was prompt and our waitress was attentive. The only complaint I could think of is that the acoustics were terrible and it was hard to have a conversation, so just not a good place to go if you'd prefer not to yell across the table.
Highly recommend for Italian food that breaks the mold though.
Regina Barker
As an Italian finding great Italian food typically only happens in your relatives kitchen. What is surprise to to find homemade pasta cooked perfectly. And not just a little serving but ginormous bowl. Well worth the price. Our party of five each ordered something different and each meal was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful. We each have a side order of chicken meatballs that were soft and large. The octopus appetizer was fresh and sumptuous. We will be back.
Leah Stange
Our waiter was super chill. Made a decent wine selection to pair with the salmon crostini. That fresh spaghetti is basically a gift the universe has given us to show us hope is worth holding out for. If my date weren't such a toolbox everything would've been perfect.
Ps. Get the meatballs. Always get the meatballs
zabar shnaider
Outstanding!!! We were on our way Asia for vacation, got a 6 hours layover in SEA...hooked up with local friends for dinner. This place was just PERFECT! Great ambient (outdoor fire pit as it's slightly raining out) and a tasty menu and a perfect pairing with local brewed beers. We couldn't ask for any better combo...to start our vacation.
We will definitely come back!
David Weiding
Great service right off the bat. Food and ambiance are great.
Tricia Jackson
Fabulous food. I was jealous of my friends pork chop. It was the softest juiciest pork I've ever tasted. They have gluten free pasta for those wanted to taste the flavours without eating gluten. Love the decor and the staff we very friendly.
louie galitan
Great meal
Justin Perry
Amazing Italian food. I ordered what was essentially a bowl of noodles, cheese, and butter, and I can't stop thinking about them nearly a week later. Appetizers were great and the bite I had of pork chop with pancetta was so wonderfully salty, crispy, and rich, I am getting emotional just remembering it. Service and ambiance were also great. Overall a perfect experience.
Gavin Lees
It's often not worth going out for Italian, but this place is one of the few exceptions I'll make. Amazing food! The charcuterie is always a great starter, and the pasta options (which change often) are so rich and tasty, they make the perfect winter warmer (especially accompanied by a lovely glass of Frank the Tank!).
Christina Bowman
Gin martini with a twist and gnocchi Alla Romana 🤩 Always perfection.
Erin
Nice bright space, great food
Mark Presling
The service here was quick and the food was interesting. We searched for quite some time to find a place that had something other than burgers, pizza and pasta or worse still, franchised fast food. We sat at the bar and it was fascinating to watch the cocktails being made. Our meals were fresh, local, seasonal and served hot. The panacotta with huckleberries was sensational! Best dining experience in Seattle.
Douglas James
Fantastic house made pasta. Great wines by the glass. We will make this a must go to restaurant any time we are in Seattle
Monica Bueno
Unexpected flavors come together for an unforgettable culinary experience. From cocktail to cake, I was surprised and impressed. An experience I will not soon forget.
Michael Natkin
Reliably solid, well made Italian dishes. Always good vegetarian options. Small plates are varied and tasty, and the cocktails are good. My only real downside is that if you eat a good sized meal the tab runs up rather quickly.
Caleb Sparks
The zeppole was really good, but the portions were a bit small, I really wish I could have had more of it. It probably would have been a better experience if I ate inside rather than takeout.
David Olsen
Quality ingredients brought together to make delightful dishes. We were there for happy hour, but the regular menu looks intriguing, as well. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and honest. We would definitely recommend
Kelsey C
The food is delicious. I met a friend here during restaurant week and I had the salumi board for an appetizer, potato gnocchi for my main (absolutely delicious), and zeppole for dessert.
I wasn't too impressed with the service, unfortunately. We sat in the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table, but our main bartender/server wasn't too interested in helping us (a few people who sat down after us had their orders placed first). We got our appetizer and main courses in a reasonable amount of time, but had to wait 25 minutes for our dessert after our main course dishes were cleared (at this point, we had already been there for two hours). I asked our server when we could expect our dessert, just out of curiosity, and I felt like I committed a crime by asking. I know the servers and cooks were busy - I just wanted an ETA because if it was going to be a while, we were just going to ask for our bill and leave. Luckily our dessert came about ten minutes after that, and then we were able to pay.
I know it was busy that evening, and maybe our server was having an off night, but I was a bit disappointed. I wouldn't completely rule out going here again, but I would be wary of who serves us next time.
Debi Schwartz
Creative food & delicious Mock-tails. Try them! Herb Your Enthusiasm - need that recipe. All the items on the menu are fantastic -was with a group of 5 we were all savoring each bite. The waiter was great at reading our table's humor.
Arvind Arikatla
Food was just okay, a little pricey for what it was and the portions they gave.
Daniel Pařík
Gabe and his team are absolutely amazing. Don't miss out on this amazing location. The New York Strip and the Ravioli were superb! 🙌 …
Alice Akridge
Enjoyed a lovely HH dinner with friends. The beet salad and gnocchi are a must! The smoked fish bruschetta was very good and the arugula salad was perfectly dressed. I 100% understand why it is my friend's favorite spot. Glad she took me there during my visit.
Michelle Song
My party and I had a reservation that got lost. Instead of giving us the brush off, the staff (manager, hostess, servers) all exceeded in accommodating us-granted we had to complain a tiny bit to show our disapproval first. They fit us in an hour to a smaller table and provided us with complimentary champagne for our large party and the salmon Buschetta & beet salad. All delicious! Especially the bruschetta! They then moved us to a larger table with our entrees. The pasta dishes were good not great, tasty and sizable portion. The service overshadowed everything. They went beyond to remedy the mistake. I would recommend for a nice dinner or a night out with your group.
Jason Brewer
While I was slightly disappointed in the ravioli dish I ordered (it was much heavier than expected), the other dishes we ordered (gnocchi, heirloom tomatoes) were quite good. Service is charge-based rather than tip-based, so it tends to be a bit European in pace; staff is friendly and welcoming. On the negative side, the noise level was a bit intense at times, and being seated facing people at the counter above me felt awkward.
Fernando Lopez
Food was on point, i inadvertently picked all seafood menu and was not sorry about it, smoked salmon bruschetta had really clean flavors and the prawn pasta was served with a tomato sauce that had a little orange pop that made it real interesting, the happy hour wine selection is pretty awesome and the service was good if a little rushed.
Jeff Hardy
Wow! I had never been here and I was blown away... Service was nice, atmosphere was great for a first date and we loved every bite!! The chef added some garlic to our pasta at our request and it alone was worth returning for. The pork chop saltimbocca was to die for so perfectly cooked the texture was amazing!!! After eating the best Italian meal I had had in a long time we shared salted caramel affagados.... We savored the perfect ending to our fairytale evening... Tavolata is the special Italian restaurant you wish you knew about.
Riley Toher
Firstly, I truly appreciate that they’ve stayed open for delivery and pickup. I had a fabulous experience the first time I did a pickup order, but this time I’ve been really disappointed. It was not enough pasta for two people, and the paparadelle was thin and over cooked. The salad was subpar as well, which was disappointing because the bitter green salad was amazing. Just disappointed overall and debating whether or not I want to give them another try.
Masih Shafai
The spaghetti de Nero was incredible, this place is honestly probably the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy, ever. They've managed to incorporate Seattle's incredible seafood into their beautiful culinary experience, not to mention their fantastic wine list. To the lovely men and women of Tavolata, I thank you for enriching my last night in the states with your wonderful food.
Chris Stryker
I like to get the same foods at different restaurants to compare, so I always get bruschetta and gnocchi if the restaurant has it and I can say the bruschetta and the gnocchi here were some of the best I have had. Will definitely be returning next time in Seattle!
Juha Kuikka
Good food and cocktails. All the dishes I've tried were good but the pork chop was truly phenomenal. My only, albeit very slight, complaint is that there are many more dishes than pasta in the Italian kitchen...
Charlie Coombe
Best ravioli in town/I've ever had. The sage butter is to die for. Great pasta, good wine, efficient and friendly service. I come straight here every time I visit Seattle.
Claire McGee
True Italian, upscale twists on classic dishes and the best gnocchi you will ever eat. It's pillowy softness melts in your mouth. The baby carrots are also a great app but don't think you'll want to split them with anyone
Slave to the Frame
Best Italian on the hill period. Happy hour is stupid good. Just go. Get the Gnocchi ala Marinara and never look back. These gnocchi look like giant scallops. It's a whole different experience.
Janell R
Thoroughly enjoyed one of their take out dinners for two. Lots of food, well packaged. I appreciate that their dinners for one or two aren’t trying to give you a million choices, just ones you won’t regret :) - we chose pappardelle with ragu and it came with two lovelt dinner salads, two excellent portions of burrata, sliced baguette with oil and vinegar for dipping, two cookies, and plenty of parmesan.
Junli Zhong
The food was really good. The service at the bar could be better. The bartender didn't provide me the drink or food menu when I came in. Two of my friends were already there so if he were more attentive and not constantly trying to ask what we wanted to order (and provided us the menus) I'd bump up my rating.
Ageran
The beef carpaccio and burrata were standouts for appetizers. Also enjoyed the brussel sprouts. For main course I would recommend the rigatoni. We got the tonnarelli, it wasn't that great very sparing in the flavor department. Just tasted like we were eating buttered noodles. The noodles were a bit gummy too. No hint of cheese. The other options and over all service was great though. Great over all experience.
Caleb Watt
Good pasta and gnocchi.
My main complaint is that the music was loud, and the whole place has bad acoustics. It's so loud between music and everyone talking that you can't carry on a quiet conversation.
Theodore Hellmann
Tavolata is an excellent restaurant for pasta dishes with a cool vibe. The drinks are excellent - look for a cocktail with basil or lemon and you won’t be disappointed here. The walls open up to the street in the summer to let a breeze in. The only drawback to Tavolata is that the restaurant gets very loud - it can be hard to hear someone sitting right across from you.
Murat Divringi
Good food. Good service. Horrible space design acoustically. All exposed concrete and industrial surfaces reflect noise and make it uncomfortably loud. Forget chit chat - at our party of six, we could not even hear ourselves think on a Friday night and ate quickly to get the heck outside. They need to get some sound absorbing material in the ceiling , at least...
Steph Mitchell
One of my two favorite happy hours in Seattle. Come early though, because the wait is long and you may miss out! For non- happy hour make sure to get a reservation. My favorite dishes are the spaghetti and meatball, with a fish bruschetta appetizer.
Goan Za
Best gnocchi in town!
Kristen Brown
Our waiter was very attentive and took great care of us. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. We also loved the atmosphere which was a great blend of trendy, upscale, yet relaxed.
D P
Portion sizes were way too small for the price - especially the duck. Food overall was underwhelming. Not bad, but not anything I'd come back for. Unfortunate because I'd been looking forward to it for a while.
Huong Le
Happy hour is a must! Great deals, food quality is high and reasonable price. SRW is also a good time to try this place. Any app, entree and dessert on their menu for $35, so it's not restricted. Parpadelle and bruschetta was my favorite
Steve Ash
Slowly become one of my fav spots in capital hill. The pastas are always great but don't pass up some of the great veggie and salad dishes too. Good spot for a date, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside.
Andre Wiggins
Great pasta and wine! One of my favorite places to take friends out when they are visiting in town. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine the serve and always ready to give a recommendation.
Terri Nakamura
We met at Tavolata to celebrate a family event. I've been to the Belltown Tavolata many times and this was my first visit to the one on Capitol Hill. It's a new, roomy restaurant with high ceilings and lots of windows looking out onto the street and tons of tables and bar space. At night it's a bit dark, but I'm sure lots of people like that. The salmon bruschetta was fantastic as were the Brussels sprouts. The sausage pasta had a kick and the other pasta dish and salad were also good. Since the City of Seattle has made downtown an uninviting place (eliminating parking spaces and closing off streets, etc.) Capitol Hill is a much more appealing alternative and you get the same great food.
Camilo Gomez
Great experience for restaurant week with lots of options to choose for apps and entrée. The wine selection is also great and well priced. Great place to have a meal with friends.
Roberto Diaz
Perfectly al dente pasta. We tried 4 pasta dishes and each one was cooked just right. My favorite was the black squid ink pasta. The clam apps were delicious but there wasn't enough bread to soak up the juices.
We had a fun time sampling Amaros and learning about the range of flavors they have.
They have great deals during happy hour.
Uttara Ananthakrishnan
Very good pasta..one of our favorites to celebrate occasions. Casual. Have an excellent reservation system. Bunch of veggie options. Love their desserts too.
Jeff Lewis
Our standards our high since my wife’s family grew up in Italy, but Tavolàta did not disappoint. The Ricotta Ravioli and Gnocchi alla Romana were to die for! Beautiful ambience and friendly staff as well. We will be back!
Justin Pratt
Best Italian in Capitol Hill! The spaghetti with meatballs and spicy rigatoni are fantastic.
Greg Browne
We were looking for a good Italian meal a little late into the night and stumbled upon Tavolata. A comfortable restaurant, open later than some others, serving some delicious and flavorful meals. The service was excellent and overall exceeded all expectations.
Bryce Mckenzie
Friendly staff and interesting cocktails make this a nice place for Italian cuisine. Warm atmosphere and lots of windows creates a nice feel while you eat and drink.
Britney Kitaka
Very friendly wait staff. We had the Pappardelle and Rigatoni and it was really good well sized portions.
Carmelambition
It was very good. I had the spaghetti with chicken meatballs which was delicious. My friend had the rigitoni with some of the best sausage I have ever had. Would definitely go back.
Anthony Filicetti
Get the crab gnocchi. It has huge chunks of meat and more than enough gnocchi for leftovers. Spaghetti and meatballs is a close second. Service here can be a little slow, but the food is so worth it.
Dror Cohen
Great Italian dinner option with good food, good service and good atmosphere
Babak Gho
The food was really delicious. When it comes to pasta, it’s all about sauce, spice, and flavors and for sure this place does a good job about it.
I liked the interior design as well.
A R
Great night at the bar. Service was excellent and the food was delicious! The wine list has some good values too. We will be back.
Vivian Mills
My favorite place for Italian food in Seattle. The noise level is a bit high and that can make it hard to have a nice meal and conversation there. The food is amazing.
J'Dnt Vega
The 3 stars go to the amazing server! Food is way overprice, no sides, and drinks are just okay. Not memorable and just a typical Seattle restaurant: overpriced, small portions, and okay.
Elisabeth Olivieri
Awesome decor (very trendy); staff earn the 20% gratuity that is automatically added to the bill in place of tipping (and they make sure the customers are aware of this right when they are seated, so there's no surprises); the location is in Capital Hill so you get a nice "family" (LGBTQ) environment; and the food is about as close to the taste and quality of food served in the any of the restaurants owned by my favorite chef, Gordon Ramsay.
Tom Soyars
This is our second time visiting Tavolata in two different trips to Seattle. Nice menu, great service, and excellent wine list. We'll be back.
Amanda Lemoncelli (Michi)
Stopped in here randomly close to Christmas, despite it being a a busy Saturday night, we were seated quickly. The drinks were strong and food was good. Service was fantastic.
Matt Goltz
Good, but certainly not 20% auto gratuity good. Hostess asked us to wait 20-30 minutes before I pointed out open tables and bar seats, and some dishes had already been 86ed on a Saturday evening.
David Heyduck
Some of the best pasta I’ve had in my life... that’s not saying a lot.. but it’s really good. The vibe is great, a little dark, but the food is what matters anyway. Get here!
Gary Liu
Food came out a little slower than expected. Food was good. Got the seattle restaurant week deal for 35 dollars . The halibut was good
Matteo Balzani
Great starter, big portions, decadent dessert. It's not 5 stars because the pasta was slightly overcooked
Gwynne Schnaittacher
Their pasta is unreal. I love how they use fresh and in season ingredients often locally sourced. Their wine list is incredible too.
Eliana Feigelstock
Really great happy hour! Service is also on point. Favorite dish is the meatballs and spaghetti - and you can just order the meatballs too
Nuno Pereira
Excellent food and environment!
Laura Espin
Good food (great pastas and salads/appetizers) and ambience (nice open space with modern lay back decoration) ... A bit pricy (ex: one salad and pappardelle $40)
Nonetheless, the happy hour is a great deal!!!
Evan Swope
I'm not even a fan of pastas very much and these were easily some of the tastiest dishes I've had in a month. The happy hour is a STEAL.
Parker Pavitt
We usually enjoy our meals here but tonight the rigatoni and spaghetti were underdone to the point of being tough to chew. The chicken meatballs with the spaghetti were dry and bland.
Rocky Horan
Some of the best pasta in Seattle, and best part is they are still offering amazing dishes and most now at happy hour prices!
Maddie Korra
Great place to dine in or just sit in the bar. The manager is really amazing. He works really hard in every aspect in the business
Bernie Macias
Looks nice. I only had a cocktail which was good, Spokane Hathaway. My friend had a pasta dish which was a large portion.
Will Taylor
Great food and atmosphere...
James Gray
If you have any happy memories of pushing simple soul filling pasta in your mouth then get ready for a time warp. If you don't know what I'm talking about then plan a meal here and discover the definition of true pasta.
Jess Mooney
Not quite as good as the one in Belltown, but it has a great Vibe and the open doors in the summer are wonderful. Definitely recommended for happy hour.
Charlie Coombe
Cannot describe the love I have for the food here. Been a hundred times and every time it is great quality and delicious. Love love love.
Holly Richards
Loved this place! Service was great, the spaghetti and meatballs was amazing and had the best noodles I've ever had. Do it!
Fernando G
Flavors are great but the spaghetti was tough to chew, the bread was tough to chew and the sauce was a bit too salty. For the price, I would go elsewhere.
Tami Hoang
Great italian restaurant. I went with some friends for dinner and they opened their windows. It had a great atmosphere and the service is wonderful.
Anastasia Burlingame
The asparagus was soooo good. I ordered it for one of our appetizers and then ordered another one to take home bc I loved it so much.
Thomas
Amazing flavors, so good 🤤
I had the lamb and hamachi during restaurant week. …
Jarod Tanneberg
We've been to this location twice. The first time was good. The second time, the food was good, but the service was lacking. Perhaps one more chance?
Derek Cutting

Nice place, good atmosphere and servers
John Randant
Great staff! Amazing food! Can't wait to make it back
Nicole
This place isn’t worth the price. The service is sub par and you get forced to pay 20% gratuity. The only good thing about this place is the happy hour.
Genevieve St. Charles
