Reviews of STELLA.
Nahom Debessay
We had an amazing experience with Elijah. He helped make our birthday celebration extremely special. He listened to us and used his knowledge of the menu to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Service was impeccable. Allowed us time to ourselves but checked in on us the appropriate amount of time.
We had the small plate meatballs, beet salad, spinach artichoke dip. All amazing!

I went to Stella’s a few times while staying at the Hotel Sorrento. The vibes were good and the servers were nice and attentive. They have a solid happy hour menu. I got the IPA they had on draft at the time and the Rustic Potato Bread during happy hour which were both great and you couldn’t beat the price. The next night I went there for dinner and cocktails. For drinks I ordered the Serene Selene and my friend got the NYX In Nightfall. The drinks weren’t great and we didn’t end up finishing them. For dinner we ordered the Calamari and the Gulf Prawns which were both great!

Just commented last night to a friend that I need to come back here again (and that they need to try Stella)!
Between the ambiance and the food, this place is a hidden gem that I used to drive by every day and finally decided to give a shot. The food was exceptional and the drinks were *chefs kiss*. I had a great server who knew all the dishes/cocktails to recommend based on my preferences.
We had the Risotto Arancini (highly recommend splitting this as a starter), Diver Scallops and Succotash, Pappardelle Bolognese, and the rustic potato with whipped butter. I would get EVERYTHING again, but I'm also dying to try everything else on the menu.
Can't wait to go back!

If these walls could talk, excellent service. David was excellent, great knowledge of the menu Including cocktails, wine selection and whiskeys.
James Woodard
In the summertime when they play jazz outside you can’t help but swing by and sip some wine. Always quality service and food.
Tony Kilt
The outdoor seating at Stella in front of the historic Hotel Sorrento was really comfortable and inviting. The staff were friendly and the food was tasty and had a few surprisingly gluten free options (risotto arrancini) and a delicious pork chop and two great cocktails.
Tyler Gilleland
The food was incredible! Top quality. The cocktails were just as good. I love coming here after a long day at work. It is on the pricier side but could make for a very nice date or even just to catch up with friends
Brian Robins
Stella served up a stellar brunch of decadent french toast and a delightful three cheese omelette. The decor was adorned in richly toned wood. Dark green seating was balanced out with lighter hues and a fanciful peacock wallpaper greeted the entry. The food came out at a languid pace, which suited us, however it may gall fast food enthusiasts.

Very delicious food, classy atmosphere and super friendly staff. I give two thumbs way up and would definitely recommend STELLA to anyone in the area! Oh, also, make sure to try the bolognese! *chef's kiss*

I really liked this place. The service was top notch. The wood work inside was amazing. I felt like I was in a fancy place. Super fancy!! The atmosphere was comfortable and casual. The prices were very reasonable!! I'm so glad I came in. I was thinking naw that place is way too fancy. My buddy was like well let's check it out anyway. As soon as we walked in. They greeted us with really good energy. The drinks were amazing too.

This place was so classy. The menu options are very unique. Definitely a perfect quiet dining experience for a fancy dinner. Pricey but worth it. They could offer more vegetarian options but definitely have appetizers and one entree suitable for someone who doesn’t eat meat.

Did I just found the best Italian place in the town after 7 years of being here😉, hands down the besty best Italian food n drinks , my tummy was so happy 😀
Gnocchi vegetarian pasta (not on menu, specially made)
Rustic potato bread
Campanelle Puttanesca
Capresse salad

Dined with friends for a fun night out, because we are fun. Benny was an amazing server and very detail oriented, highly recommend. Order the chicken piccata and calamari. Lovely cozy spot to enjoy an meal on a rainy October night.

Stopped by STELLA Seattle for lunch on a snowy afternoon. Bartender/server, Ben, was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Their grilled cheese and tomato soup is fantastic, and the ambiance is pleasant as well - felt like home. I'll be back for sure!

Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. The menu is mainly Italian with fish, steak, chicken, vegetarian options as well as pastas. We sat outside in the courtyard of the Hotel Sorrento. It was beautiful with umbrellas, cantina lights, and a fire. We had wonderful cocktails, a delicious bolognese, and a perfectly cooked branzino entree. Would highly recommend!

We stayed at the Sorrento for the amazing convince to Virginia Mason. Stella was on our room service menu every evening… with a couple of happy hour visits.
We tried almost everything but here is what we loved, what we didn’t love, we still liked.. but here is the love…
The Happy Hour Menu is great…
The arugula salad, calamari, arancini, and spinach dip (they make the chips in house), meatballs,
Raw oysters are always a must for us and these are small amazing and fresh.
Diner
Pork Chop!!!!!
Scallops
Love the Puttanesca.
We love the stay and Stella is the play.

Elijah, our server, was awesome! Food was great, and Elijah made it a great evening with his great attitude and attention to detail. Kitchen was a little slow, but the manager jumped in to help. Overall, a place I hope to go back to.

I went here for a work dinner. The food was average, nothing amazing. We ordered the scallops which was disappointing. The dessert was chocolate mouse. It's not worth the price. You can go to a place that has better food.
Carl Fletcher
The menu and food is amazing. The quality of food, they could charge more. But the service is lacking, wait staff was slow and always had to grab them rather than them check on me.
Samantha Gucciardo
A fantastic and beautiful Christmas Eve dinner in a cozy atmosphere with delicious food. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly and made us smile. We will definitely be coming back often!
Synthiea Kaldi
Great place for an affordable but kind of swanky business or friends lunch. Especially around the holidays as the decorations are festive & fabulous. Wheelchair accessible.
Tali Shlafer
I had a group reservation here a few weeks ago for a birthday, and I loved it. The wait staff was super accommodating and kind, even though we had to change our reservation time at the last minute.
The overall vibe is really neat! I wish I had taken pictures. We had indoor seating and it was a really great atmosphere.
Not too busy. Food was also really tasty - especially the risotto balls and mushrooms. I would definitely go back!
Juniper Tree Chelsea
We spent a magical night at the bar, with a fantastic bartender and server, wonderful hand crafted beverages and decadent dinner food. This may become a tradition, my husband and I are so enchanted. Thank you to all who made this much needed night out a success.
Jake Perry
The atmosphere is fantastic, the seating, decor, live music, I could go on and on. Beautiful place that feels very nice to be at.
Food was good, not great, but good. The portions are sort of small, I was still hungry after everything, and the 4 of us ordered and split most of the menu.
All around I liked it, but it falls into a sort of niche category;too expensive for casual night out, not upscale enough for a fancy night out. Good for the in-between: celebrations, date night, etc.
Staff was excellent!
Heather Dolin
They just opened lunch back up this week and it was delicious. The service was fantastic, Elijah took great care of our group of seven. Highly recommend!
Jason Cowdrey
We waited a very long time for our food, but the atmosphere food quality made the wait worth it.

What a lovely hotel. My family stayed here for two nights for a Texas A&M graduation in December. I can usually nitpick a hotel to pieces, but not this one. Pleasant and very accommodating staff. Nice restaurants and coffee shop. My husband and I had an executive king room with a view of Lake Atlas. Nice to take a walk to the Lake or just sit and admire the Lake and surroundings. We all had a great time and would definitely stay here again if the need arises. Oh, we traveled with a small dog and everyone made him feel welcome too.
Megan Wilson
Absolutely lovely experience. We had a friend's birthday there a couple weeks ago, and had many guests at the table. We ordered many appetizers and each one arrived in a timely manner. The food was delicious. The waiter was kind and attentive.
D. Plude
Still disappointed after all these years. First, the stuffed artichoke was horribly under cooked. Barely edible.
My tenderloin was cooked medium but I asked for rare. Nice char but barely pink. Come on! The drinks, Manhattan & martini were meh. Adequate.
Avoid.
Saptarshi Bhattacharya
Food and drinks are good but service is bad. If you come in the weekdays you will be given the check before you have ordered dessert or it's 10pm because they want to close down. We had a 8:30pm reservation and was handed the check at 9:30 before our main course.
Kathleen Wilson (Kat)
It's not just the big stuff, it's the little extra details and STELLA. has it down. They have an incredible setting, the hotel building is historic and had style, BUT the staff are just so wonderful. They go out of their way to make it special and what was a simple dinner with friends will now be a night I'll never forget!
Jacob Royer
Absolutely delightful dinner. Everything we had between us was great, with a couple exceptional standouts. The scallops were perfection and the poached pear was a fantastic way to end the evening.
Even more impressive was our bar experience. Our server this night was Min, and she was everything you could need or want in a bartender. Engaging, witty, creative extremely knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what she was doing. Every recommendation was excellent and the entire experience phenomenal. We can't wait to come back.
Vickie Ji
I like the atmosphere, interior decor, but brunch was really ok. None of us finished what we ordered.
My avocado toast was just a small scoop of smashed avocado on the side of the plate.
Syed Ahmad
Great food - our group ordered all the small plates and every one was a hit. Also really appreciated the environment / ambiance as we were seated on the patio. And even though they were short staffed (like everyone nowadays), we still got great service! Highly recommend

It isn't often one discovers old school elegance and understatement today. What can one say, when one encounters what can only be called old money, down to it's pillows, and it's waitstaff? For openers, I was waited on by Nathan, whose grandfather decorated cakes at the Sorrento in the 1920's. How's that for tradition? Then, I was tempted into the bar for a divine wine list featuring an Italian wine that tasted like it had Tuscan sun in every sip. For dining, I went light, with the prawns and asparagus. Delightful! Go for the eclectic menu, stay for the stalwart bartender, Tony. Inside joke: the bar is going to be called The Jesus Bar by a few friends of mine. Tony and Nathan know what I mean! Tony is also a sommelier.
Nicole Harter
Immaculate vibes! My friends and I found Stella through OpenTable during our visit to Seattle. We had no idea if it was going to be good or not so we just went for it. Let me tell you we were not disappointed in the slightest! The space is very eclectic, warm and chic. Our server (John) was incredible, so accommodating and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic!! Clean plates all around. 10/10 would highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. We popped in for a special dinner with our two little kids, knowing we might not be the usual crowd. The entire staff was so kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond, and we are so grateful. The food was absolutely fabulous, as were the drinks. I’ll be dreaming about the lamb ragout, and hope to return next time we’re in Seattle.
Cynthia Lepore
Outdoor patio is cute. I wish they had more heaters vs the one outdoor fire pit. The staff and service was wonderful. The best cocktail our party had was the Capri Sunshine and the Bolognese was very good. I was genuinely impressed by it. Highly recommend whether you're a local or just visiting.

We stayed at the Hotel Sorrento for two weeks in June 2021, right after their post-pandemic re-opening. We ate at Stella for dinner once, and visited for drinks and snacks several times.
Food - Our dinner was delicious. We came in on a rainy night and both ordered pasta (perfect comfort food on a blustery evening). I believe the pasta is made fresh in house (it was great quality) and the sauces and accompanying sea food were exceptionally good. The wines we got were also lovely.
Ambiance - Both the main restaurant and the fireside room are very cozy. The hotel was built in 1908 and the details are very pre-prohibition posh. If you come on a warm night, their is also outdoor patio seating.
Service - The service was very attentive. They struck the perfect balance of being friendly and unobtrusive. Over the course of the stay we chatted with the wait staff and restaurant manager a few times and they were all very kind and happy to give recommendations for other Seattle spots.
In future visits to Seattle we hope to visit Stella again. Thanks!
Diana Hall
We had the scallops and the chicken. Both were excellent. Shared a lovely bottle of wine and the amazing chocolate cheesecake. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is great. You really can’t beat the beautiful mahogany paneling. So warm and inviting. Our new favorite for date night.
Jason Lee
Delicious food (especially the clams, meatballs, and truffle fries). Good service.

It was our first time at stella. We had dinner on the patio to celebrate my sister in laws engagement last night. Our server (Mitchell I think) was attentative, down to earth and gave great recommendations. Food was hot and cooked well too! I loved my scallops. My cocktail (that our server recommended) was exactly what I was hoping for, it tasted like alcoholic POG which was delicious. As an upscale touch, they gave us a toast of champagne to celebrate our occasion! Mitchell/our server helped make the night memorable and good servers are harder to come by nowadays. The ambiance, service and food was perfect for what we were looking for. We'll be coming back for sure!
Andrea Waldron
Elijah is the best! Food and ambiance was great. Definitely will be back.
Mallory Keeler
Had a wonderful meal outside with very attentive and thoughtful service. Romantic but also seemed family-friendly in the outdoor portion. On the expensive side but felt appropriate as costs of just about everything have gone up with the pandemic.
Sarah Hines-da Silva
Excellent staff! I appreciate the customer service. I ate the Halibut. Delicious 😋 …
Jason Barelli
Had a great time, good food and fantastic service from our waiter, Elijah!
Brooke Fleischmann
We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant and really enjoyed it. Great patio space and fantastic food (Italian fare with an artistic flair). Our service was also excellent. Highly recommend!

As you walk into the hotel to get to Stella there are endless photo opportunities.
The Lounge area, the bathrooms, the hallways, the courtyard as you walk in, the entrance to the hotel itself, the hold unique wood doorways, the restaurant itself, the floors in the restaurant, the décor etc.

The food… omg the food is PERFECT! Where oh where has this restaurant been? Or should I say the chef? Every little thing we ordered for brunch was SPOT ON and its hard to please me when it comes to breakfast food because well I don’t think there are many breakfast spots that WOW me but this one sure did!
*
Try it and thank me later!

We stayed a night at the Sorrento and had a drink at the bar. Loved the old vibe. Friendly staff. Best part was the house fries and grilled asparagus.
Jessica Jennings
During our stay at the Sorrento Hotel we were able to dine twice at this lovely restaurant. Everything about it was sublime and the ambience was exactly what we were looking for. Do yourself a favor and enjoy some drinks and a tasty meal at this hot spot while the weather is still nice!
Michael Anthony Price
I had a great experience opening night at STELLA. Their food is fresh, the faces are friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful. I dined in for dinner, but they offer three different menus: brunch, lunch and dinner. My highlights of the night included the branzino, squash salad, and of course, the fried ravioli. The branzino and squash salad were both refreshing, definitely a lighter fair. That being said, this brings me to what i most enjoyed about STELLA.-it is not a typical heavy Italian restaurant, STELLA. is refined and has something for everyone...especially delicious fried raviolis.
James Immer
Flavor of the food was presentation were great. Service was slow, and it seems to be because they had 1 waiter to 10 tables. I'm sure in time the querks of a new restaurant will pass and it will be better. Wish the portions of the protein for more.
Vince Brotherton
Not what it once was. Service was slow and snobby, they don't understand what the experience of high end dinning is about. Bartender was good if slow, to much into process.
Erin Gorup
Super cute outdoor patio! Great, prompt service. It was perfect for date night. I didn’t give 5 stars because it would be great if they had a vegan entree option but at least they had a few sides that were vegan!
Jong Lee
Charming outdoor space perfect for the pandemic. We only had dessert and coffee on a summer evening but was nice. Menu for dessert only had 3 items.
Ted Healy
Service is very attentive, good atmosphere in the well heated outdoor tent, the octopus was delicious as was the scallops. Will definitely go again.
Finu Lukose
A bit pricey and primarily seafood. Got the linguine with clams and that was over $25 bucks. The serving was a little less than I expected but it was delicious.
Davis Barelli

Fantastic food, an underrated gem of a restaurant.
Edit April 2023: there's a new chef who has changed the menu, first changed the risotto arancini, my favorite dish, then removed it from the menu entirely. Also changed other dishes. Tony the bartender is still great, but the food has taken a hit lately.
