As soon as you enter the restaurant it gives you San Antonio, TX vibes. I have felt similar in restaurants down there. The food is unique in flavors. The service is a bit lax hence 4 stars. We were in the restaurant for about an hour and most of the time we spent waiting for someone to get our dessert order and receiving the dessert.
Overall a good place for big as well as small groups. Food is good too. Service might be an issue.

This food was truly outstanding! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. The vibe was fabulous and they have a great selection of food and drinks. The shrimp ceviche was absolutely incredible. The enchiladas where the best I've ever had period. The drinks where on point and the Flan was delicious. If you're in Seattle, this place is a must!! Try it, you will not be disappointed.

It's a nice restaurant and bar that stays opened until late in the night, what is rare to find in Capitol Hill, so I've been there a lot with my friends.
The margaritas are awesome and they have a decent amount of good beers on tap too.
I can't tell a lot about the food, since I'm vegan and they don't have anything other than a vegan soup and chips and salsa in their menu, what is a shame, since it's Capitol Hill and it's not a lot of trouble to have a vegan burrito or vegan tacos in the menu.

Taste: Pretty standard Mexican food, but the drinks are tasty! Their Piña colada slush is a fun drink and very sweet.
Price: I do feel like this restaurant is way too expensive for the taste and quality of the food. Making larger portion sizes or having a good happy hour deal could really help make this restaurant more appealing. The food was good, but there are so many other options for Mexican food and drinks in Cap Hill that there is not much setting this place apart for the high price.
Amount: For the price, I would have liked to see larger portion sizes in both the drinks and food.
Atmosphere: Really cool restaurant with lots of room. There are multiple fire pits and different types of seating.
Service: Service is amazing here! Really great waiters both times I’ve been.

I came to Poquitos for drinks and appetizers, with a few coworkers; I had the quesadilla with chicken and a watermelon Margarita. The quesadilla was delicious, my drink was just okay. As I write this review I think I’m going to try something different. As for the service it was fast & friendly. I would definitely come back if ever back in Seattle.
Stephanie Harvey
The service was fantastic here. Our server was very busy. Quite a full section it looked like. But he made sure we were taken care of and were haply. The drinks were great. I got the purist mezcal margarita and could not have been happier. Perfection. We got one of every dessert and my favorites were the bunuelos and the chocolate flan cake. The churros were okay, their caramel sauce was better than the churros themselves. Also would have loved a sauce on the flan plate or something similar. But certainly the best chocolate flan I've ever had.

Solid good quality American style Mexican food, with plenty of veggie and vegan options. The restaurant is very pretty with wrought iron and fairy lights, and patio seating. Definitely worth repeat visits.
Jamison Johnson
Great bang for your buck Mexican style food. I love their al pastor tacos and chips and salsa. Their mimosa pitcher was really mild for us, but a nice tasty easy drinking experience with brunch menu. The breakfast tacos looked good with tasty bacon and well prepared eggs. I'll definitely return. I'm picky about Mexican food now that I've been to Mexico, but they do a quality job. The habañero salsa is super hot! Try a drop first.

I don’t remember the last time I was at a restaurant and wasn’t able to get past the apps/soups-salads. Perhaps it never happened before, but it happened here. What threw me off was the mammoth steak nachos and then the super hearty chicken tortilla soup. Shame though, would have loved to try more of the menu. Shoutout to the service as well!
Humberto Hernandez
The atmosphere is good but can be a little too noisy. Service will be nice and helpful & will provide recommendations if you ask. The food will be great, tasteful but in the particular for the "beef shank chile colorado" the portion will be a lot smaller than it actually looks (more than the half was bone, see photos) making it more pricy than it actually is.
Mike Penick
I gotta be honest.. the food was pretty bland. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and, with all the trimmings - including the salsa & guac, I could barely taste anything. So disappointing. My sangria wasn't that great either 😔 I gave this place three stars mainly because the service was excellent.
I wouldn't recommend this place to family and friends, sorry.
Kimberly Pham
What I like about this place is their windows are wide and open, spacious, and great side patio. Located in the heart of Capital hill and the restaurant is considerably pretty clean. Friendly staff and very accommodating. As for the food is pretty good but seems like they can add more flavors.
Overall great spot to grab a drink, snack, and catch up with family or friends.
Ariana Lauren
Decent food with a nice selection of options. Service is just fine. Passionfruit habanero margarita is a must. Perfectly cooked fresh churros with salted caramel dipping sauce is a yes please.
Kathryn Angus
Fantastic service, food and environment. Really loved how the glass doors have the garage door feel & how cool it was to have them open in the warm weather. Definitely coming back
Samantha Wesselink
Thankfully they were able to get us in! We didn't have a reservation and they were quite busy! However, that being said, service was fantastic and fast! Food was amazing! We got a three dip appetizer that did not disappoint, great wet burrito (get both sauces!), and not to mention the fantastic margaritas!
Carlos De La Riva
I enjoyed the food and the service was great, but some of their pricing is WAY off. On Tuesday, the margs felt beyond overpriced. I ordered two double Espolón margs and was billed $52 dollars, which is way too much in my opinion.
Lawrence Thode
Pricey (tacos and a marg will run you $30+ but canned beer is better compared to the other bars around) but the barbacoa tacos were juicy and flavorful. I would have liked some more salsa or hot sauce to go with everything, next time I'll ask beforehand. I'll come back next time for the al pastor tacos!
Mary Lynn Bryant
This place has such a great atmosphere and the building is so cool! Their homemade tortillas are delicious, as well. I had the barbacoa tacos and while it was flavorful, there was too much meat and it was very soggy. Not one to complain, but they were very hard to eat. I asked for more tortillas and this fixed the issue... There was enough meat for 6 tacos and it was delicious!
Service was pretty good, just a little slow. It wasn't busy but it is a huge space so maybe it took a while to walk from the kitchen... Ha! I will definitely return and order extra tortillas!

Came here with my family, wanted to eat dinner in Cap Hill since they were visiting. Poquitos showed all of us a great time! Lots of seating inside and some nice tables outside as well. We all really enjoyed our food, the guac was amazing. Service was great too. Awesome Mexican food overall!
Neil Bailey
Great place to get a margarita, some chips and tacos and hang out on the hill. Great food, friendly staff, and nice décor. One of our go to places for mexican food on cap hill. If you want spicy food they are also really able to turn up the heat on food so thats great too.
Leigh Wright
Food was amazing, super fresh. Service was super quick. Will for sure being going again.
Kristina Parihar
The food is so good and tastes authentic! I had the salsa trio, guacamole and chips, and the chicken tacos. The tacos had a burst of flavor and melted in your mouth.
Viren Aggarwal
My friend I wanted to grab a drink and decided to go to Poquitos. The place was busy as usual. We ended up on the bar. It's a nice place for casual food. It's not ground breaking Mexican food. I was hoping for a better selection of Mexican beers on tap but there were couple only. Ok place to go if you cannot think of any other place.
Brandon Faloona
Delicious! The big open atmosphere, with roll up doors for warm days, creates an inviting feel. Service was responsive and they accommodated my dietary restrictions.
I got the Baja Fish Tacos which were small flour tortillas overstuffed with crispy battered fish (grilled was also an option) and shredded cabbage with a complex dark salsa/sauce.
Fiona Becker
Visited for a family dinner. I ate so many chips- their salsa/queso/bean dip is fantastic. The food itself was good, the service was fast. For a nice dine-in restaurant in Capitol Hill, this is a solid place!
Dominick Ruane
The Nachos are it! The chicken tinga was not. The nachos have melted cotija cheese, which I loved, and just plain old good flavor. The chicken tinga, which was the chicken option, was overcooked and had zero flavor. This review is for those of you who only order chicken tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, or burritos. I come back for them nachos, but skipping anything with chicken.
Maddy Van Elzen
Went in for brunch with a very large group and they were so kind and accommodating. Could not have been more impressed with the staff. Food was great too! Can’t wait to go back!
lisa fruichantie
This is one of my favorite simple brunch spots. I love the atrium, the vibe and the staff! Huevos Rancheros with the Habenero salsa is where it's at!
Sharad Manasali
Decent mexican restaurant with great outdoor seating with heaters during covid. Excellent ambience. Food was good but not great. Hassle free online order. Would definitely visit again.
Bladimir Garcia
Great place!!! The tacos were amazing and the outdoor patio was pretty nice and warm with the portable heaters in between tables. Nice outdoor speakers which had a good playlist of music. They did have another patio which was nicer but that was a longer wait so we decided to just take whichever opened up quickest.
As you can see the juicyness of the tacos and freshness of the meat will leave you wanting more. The drink in the clay jar was interesting and surprisingly good with the chilli rim
Everything is qr code and order online per table number and they'll bring it out to you.
My friend got a breakfast burrito and be warned!! They are yuuuuuge! They did enjoy it though so maybe I'll try it next time but its not really my thing, seemed like a popular item since few tables around us ordered them
Nalana La Framboise
Really fun place with lots of seating and a great atmosphere! Though, it was louder than expected and margaritas didn't have a ton of flavor (watered down or only tasted tequila).
Percia Sanchez
Great spot in Cap Hill to go to on a day off or after work, excellent drinks and great food. Fish tacos were delicious and the house guac app is amazing. Always a great dining experience here!
Rob Hill
Some of the best Mexican fare in all of Seattle. Poquitos always uses fresh ungredients, and cooks dishes that are a notch above your standard Tex-Mex fare. Highly reccomend if you haven't tried this place. Tacos El Pastor is some of the best I've had.
Lawrence Chatman
Great burrito and drinks! No pic of it, but try the Tamarind margarita..so good 👍🏽
Roswatheist FSM
Disclaimer: I live in the desert Southwest. That said, I was pleasantly surprised that the red chile was actually New Mexico red chile-amazing. The server was very attentive and pleasantly polite and the tequila was okay. The guacamole was surprisingly perfect.
This really is more of a niche spot than anything, but the atmosphere was lovely and the food was pretty good.
Sina M.
Visited on a Friday night and vibe/atmosphere was cool. Good place to grab some drinks and a bite with friends. I don't remember the waitress's name but she was so sweet and did really well. Great service. Ordered the grilled corn and ceviche for appetizer. The grilled corn wasn't as good as street food version but still enjoyed it. Ceviche was better after adding some more lime. We ordered the torta and chicken enchilada suiza and both were pretty good. Would especially recommend the torta.
Janiene Friend
Stopped in here to watch football and ended up having some YUMMY margaritas and fish tacos. The atmosphere and service were great!! Definitely check out the "patio" area!
Antonina Lovyn
I loved it here. A sun filled room with beautiful interior. There's even a little fire pit on a table that you can sit next to on winter days to warm up. The food was great and the service was spectacular. Will definitely be coming back here again with friends.
Kevin Hu
Located in the heart of Capital Hill, this beautiful Mexican restaurant has a lot of promise. The menu is quite extensive with a good variety of food and drinks. The three soft taco sampler was nice to try one of each types of meat for not a high premium. Unfortunately during our visit we felt rushed out as we were asked multiple times if we were finished eating (despite holding a fork still and chewing). Good ambiance overall. Reservations recommended
Katia Garcia
Good atmosphere with lots of seating options. Staff is nice and kitchen moves fast to expedite food once order comes through. The guacamole is fresh and tastes great. Pollo asado and carnitas tacos are delicious as well. I would stay away from the cauliflower salad unless you enjoy your cauliflower pickled and not roasted. Great place for happy hour.
Michael Senkow
Really good food, I recommend the shrimp ceviche if you want something nicely light. Large, super-filling portions.
M Harrington
We had some good food with super friendly service. Guacamole was delicious. Cheese quesadillas and squash tacos were shared and everyone was satisfied. All reasonably priced.
Evan Doornberg
Super good food and great margaritas. Really cool patio area, got a little cold with the water misters in the evening but overall great time. Corn appetizer was awesome!
Jordan Eschler
Good service, great upselling by the waitstaff (we were out to have fun, and they helped)! I love the patio, which I don't remember from the before-times, but it was a great place to sit with old friends :)
We especially loved the wildlife-cam in Namibia! Better than sports IMHO. Thanks for the hospitality while I visited old friends!
Melody Xiong
Solid place for Mexican food. The chopped salad was good, but thought the chicken was a bit salty. The portion of the ingredients were a good amount in ratio to the greens. The tacos were good as well.
John Wyss
Wow! This place is the bomb! Excellent gourmet Mexican food and terrific appetizers and a wide selection of drinks. There are a few great vegan options too. When the weather is nice the windows open up to fresh air and there is a patio as well. Parking might be a bit constrained just given the neighborhood so I recommend you make a reservation and arrive in time to find street parking nearby or pay a few bucks for the lot next door.
Joe Simoy
Drinks were great. I ordered the shrimp and it was OK. The sauce though, that was fire. The Grasshoppers, yes, grasshoppers. That was a new taste.. Watch out for the strong after taste
Cynthia SMB
Great spot for Mexican fare, right across from some great night spots, such as Neumo's and Barboza. These menu images are from December 2017. You'll notice the churro bites, where were delicious. And, as always, I recommend the cocktail menu. If there's one thing I know, it's that ordering off that cocktail menu means I'm getting something special and delicious.
Patrick P
The chicken tinga tacos, chicken tortilla soup, and a fresa are the way to go. Best meal I've had in quite a while.
Kellen Barfield
Really like it! I've had the guacamole before and that was great and tonight I had the jalapeno queso. Wish it was a little bigger portion but it was really tasty.
Update. Came again last night and it's still pretty good. Not a fan of the potato tacos tho. The taco part is just fried so it's not that good. Had a big load of tomatoes on it. Horchata is really nice
Richard Newman
Came here during a Sunday happy hour. My wife and I ordered two cocktails, chips and salsa, and ceviche. The ceviche was acceptable, but the drinks were not good — probably pre-mixed, a little warm, and not tasty. The bar was playing NASCAR and drag racing, of all things; other than that the space was fine and the service inoffensive.
With so many good Mexican restaurants nearby, I can’t see a reason to come here unless you absolutely must watch NASCAR while eating bland food.
Sara Wainwright-Feldman
The food is good. Some dishes can be hit or miss but most things are pretty yummy. I’ve never been blown away by a dish here but I’ve never been super disappointed either. Poquitos is good for brunch because they have a lot of space and can usually seat you when places like Oddfellows are packed. You can read into that what you will re: food quality, but if you are hungry NOW or have a larger group, it’s a good bet. The Bloody Mary is not that great but the scratch margarita is.
Marie Zahradnik
Excellent service, superb happy hour eats and you can even try the grasshoppers! Poquitos has lovely seating options, including cozy booths, large tables for groups, small fireplaces to sit around as well as a spacious bar. The outside seating is well heated in a greenhouse type enclosed area. There's never a wait to be seated at lunch, either.
Santiago Basurto
Came here with my very good friend at 7-8pm on tequila Tuesdays. I had a straight tequila shot and my friend got a margarita. Drinks were cheap and strong, always a plus. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, however, this unfortunately is not the place. Very mediocre and overpriced tacos. Will raise rating if I find good food on the menu
Gary Samson
Poquitos could not be any better at being what it is, which is a perfect facsimile of a high-end Mexican tourist restaurant right out of your favorite central American destination. If it were Polynesian, it would be the best tiki bar ever. Since it is Mexican, it must be Mexiki (tm).
The full bar is fantastic, solid craft cocktails. I recommend the house made ginger beer in a Basil mule. You won't go wrong with any of the food either but definitely stretch your culinary repertoire and try the fresh, hot chapulines appetizer (fried grasshoppers). They are surprisingly good!
The parking is atrocious cause Capital Hill but the space is worth it and the service has been spot on 3 times in. The music is modern Hispanic, Matador hipster and confusing and at times but kept low enough to be ignored while adding reasonable ambiance.
Go. I promise, it is worth your time and money.
Jamie Perry
Best mimosas and chilaquiles in the area hands down! The staff is outgoing and friendly. If you haven’t been here you’re missing out.
Prateek Sethi
Expensive place, good service and ambience, but mediocre Mexican food. This place is crowded primarily due to its location. Pretty sure there are better Mexican places in Seattle
Jeff Bishop
We ordered the Chef's Dinner (whole chicken dinner) on Saturday and it was amazing and such a good deal for the amount of quality food you get. It included a whole adobo rubbed chicken with all the sides. The chicken was cooked perfectly...nice and juicy and tasted amazing. The chips, salsa, beans and rice were great and easily fed my wife and me. Oh, and the watermelon salad and cookies for desert capped off a great meal. I highly recommend the Chicken Dinner; you'll love it. P.S. We ordered a side of guac which was also perfect!
Jia Casillas
We came across this place and decided to dine in. The service was great and friendly. The food was mostly traditional Mexican I recommend the enchiladas suizas which were tasty
Veronica Boe
Great food and drinks. Excellent service in a fun part of town. Tasty meals and great chicken tortilla soup and tacos.
Christina Butters
Great twist on some Mexican fare! Nachos were great & love the salsa trio. Ceviche was different than expected, good, but too many sliced onion......
Ashwin Sukumar
Poquiots margarita was perfect for me. Not very strong, on the sweeter side. I took the 3 taco plate, but the annoying part was the tacos were fixed and no substitutions. It was steak, pork and chicken. Steak one was okay, nothing great. The chicken and pork were so much better. I wish I could have gotten a baja fish taco along with the trio plate. All in all, good food, but nothing outstanding.
Sara
Super friendly staff! Beautiful ambiance with a few fire pits on the patio.
Elizabeth Paiva
We tried going here twice before we could get in—they’re currently not accepting reservations, and the wait list can be 3 hours (what we were told one night!) so we were excited to get in at 4 pm on a Saturday with no wait.
The cocktails were tasty. We had a Poquitos margarita and a cantaritos. Cantaritos was super tasty. The chips and salsa left a bit to be desired. The salsas weren’t very flavorful for us. Service was okay but nothing great. I don’t think we would come back here given the wait times and our overall experience, but I’m glad we checked it out to see what all the buzz was about, even if it’s not really our thing.
Sirisha M
Friendly staff and great food and vibe..loved the trio dips (salsa guac and bean dip)
Also their quesadilla was freshly made.
Would love to go back here for their rest of the menu
Andrew James
Reasonable prices for the area, quick service, good food. Don't really have more to say about it, would go back for sure.
Adam Pethia
Sat at the bar at 2p on a Sunday and in about 5mins I had the draft beer and chicken tacos I ordered. Tacos were delicious and the service was insanely fast (and friendly). Loved the large open windows and outdoor seating area. Definitely would come back.
Jessica Hubacher
If I was on the show 'The best thing I ever ate' I would choose this chopped salad with grilled chicken. The chicken is marinated in line, cilantro and garlic. There are black beans, cotija cheese and grilled corn. I omit the pic because I'm not a jalapeno fan but you shouldn't. It's one of the best salads in Seattle.
Adriana Teshirogui
Definitely one of our favorite places. Great place to eat some Mexican food and enjoy it with friends. Comfy place and good service in one of the best neighborhoods in Seattle.
Tyler Freed
The guacamole is great, but salsa and guacamole are $5. The menu does specify meals that are vegetarian and vegan as well as those that have gluten. Pea soup is the only vegan brunch option and is okay. My boyfriend and his friend got tacos and both said that they were great.
Pavel borisyk
Great food, medium price, the queso and chips are great. The server was slow but other than that, the food was great. Took about 25 min
Vi Potal
I live for their fresh guacamole!!! And al pastor tacos!
I love the ambiance, and it's easy to get tables for lunch, and early dinner, so come early!
Chai A
Lively and eclectic (what isn’t in Seattle, really?) corner spot in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle serving up tasty Mexican food and healthy options. I ordered barbacoa tacos that came with rice and black beans and a Cantarito cocktail. The tacos were good though the barbacoa ate slightly dry. Great place to gather with friends or take a date to.
Nik Kontrimas
Decent Mexican restaurant and bar in the core of Capitol Hill.
We had a wonderful hamachi ceviche and the guacamole was a solid choice. We had a wonderful asado platter and basically had a delicious meat experience between 3 people.
Our bowl of chips did have something that looked like cheese on the chips but hardened to seem like plastic. The flan was disappointing — not the consistency you’d expect from flan, more like a block of cheese. Flavor of the flan was ok. Our server comped us for the flan so it was quite good.
4 stars for the wonderful ceviche and good service
Elliot (Retsacrellor)
One of my favorite first date places. Always good food, good drinks, and happy dates. :D
Patrick Kelly
Super fun. The dining room and bar have a really subtle Mexican decor. The service and food are above and beyond.
Kennedy Biederman
Really really good food. We didn't have to wait very long for dinner either which was a plus!
Very Oliver Raft
It was okay. Service was friendly, but everything was soooo expensive, and there were no vegan options for food except chips and guac/salsa.
하니공룡
Fishtago is really good
Ginette DiDomenico
Very fresh tasting food..salsa trio is amazing.
Leo 263
Shrimp tacos were tasty. The side of rice was undercooked/dry. Service was attentive. I’d go back.
Mayna Myers
Great food. Loud atmosphere. They did turn down the music once my husband asked them to.
Velk Egger
The drinks were fantastic, and all three appetizers we got for a light dinner were lovely.
Janelle Corsack
Fantastic food and the cozy bar area is such a great vibe. Can't wait to go back
Andrew Caveness
Great location and atmosphere. And the food is amazing.
Kjerstin Laine
Great service, great food, great drinks. An essential spot on Capitol Hill, lively atmosphere but not so much that you can't hold a conversation. I love their patio that has rolling garage doors, super nice in winter and summer! My favorite is the enchiladas suizas with chicken and the habanero passion fruit margarita is delicious.
Paul Shaw
Had some late night food here. Nice bar to sit at. Service very good. Good selection of beers.
Tanonkia
The carne asada was so bad and for $30 dollars the horchata was good and the servers were friendly.
Gavin Greenwalt
Delicious food. If I had a criticism it's that they make random things spicy that just aren't tasty to be spicy. For instance their salads are just weirdly hot. I have friends who are spice masochistic and even they have been like "that's hot and gross" in regard to their fire hot margaritas.
Also the pandemic returned their amazing beef tacos that the restaurant opened with. But prior to the pandemic they had cheaper out with McDonald's quality hamburger chuck. If they return to chuck beef later I'll revise down 2 stars.
Caryn K
Great food and lots of drinks to choose from. All delicious and creative. My friends and I saw it from the hop on and off bus and had to stop in the next day for lunch. The servers were nice and the flood delicious, and I didn'tthink anythingwas over priced. What more can you ask for?
K B
Very fine. Despite being one of a few occupied tables, the service was painfully slow, the food came out a bit cold, and I just generally felt like the experience didn't meet expectations (especially for the price).
They always seem packed for brunch and lunch, so perhaps the better time to visit this establishment. In the meantime, I'll be going to other places to get my Mexican food fix!
Barbara Renfrow
I love this place! It has made me rethink my Seattle Mexican food hesitation. I had a few bad experiences at “Mexican” that made me shy away but there are zesty gems like poquitos.
Jesse Hart
The service is decent. The atmosphere is fun. Drinks are okay. The food is mediocre to bad. Seattle has way better Mexican food than this.
Abhilash uday
Good place for Mexican cuisine if you are around capital hill region.
Jeff Nelson
Awesome food, great service, very fast, cool atmosphere. The tacos and quesadillas are awesome, good drinks too. 10/10 would come back!
Julian Foster
The chicken tacos we're amazing! Pea soup was also very good as well. The bartender was very friendly and suggested great drinks!
Yi Chiang
5/5 for Covid outdoor dining. The fire and heated seats will definitely keep you warm. The food will likely still get cold while it sits outside though haha
Breanne C
I'm extremely fussy about my Mexican food, but I was truly truly impressed here. I had the steak nachos and a classic margarita...both delicious! Staff was lovely too.
Ben Tieu
Beautiful interior, the food was pretty decent but nothing to write home about
Wes Buskin
Wonderful dining experience.
Great food. Can be a bit on the spendy side if you want a wider experience of thier menu.
Bonus:
Sometimes when dining outside you might catch an impromptu show by the Broadway Two, The Social Social Distance Show.
Look around for the young man with a typewriter.
He'll type you a poem.
On weekends Watch for the old man selling 🌹 roses on Cap Hill.
Buy your special person a rose.
Khushboo Desai
Great food. We had nacho chips and salsa along with mashroom tacos. The drinks were also nice. Although it was a bit expensive but overall very noce experience.
Dannis Thompson
Food was good and service was good. A good quick bite or dinner out
Bailey Keeler
Tacos are a bit pricy, but the queso is great and their outdoor seating is AMAZING. It’s cute, covered, and has heaters! It was cozy(with jacket on) even at 30degrees out! I also appreciate the ‘take out’ window for ordering! Very excellent covid safe set up.
Varsha Murali
Poquitos had a really good vibe. Lots of choices on the menu and the service was quick. Great food!
Michele Laporte
Food was okay, I'm from the south so my taste is different.
Yanet Munoz
Nice serene atmosphere, good music. Food was good, service was great and they’ve got a good sense of humor with this patron being there for as long as they lasted there lol. I had the red enchiladas, they have a bit of a kick nothing crazy, and ordered buñuelos. Careful with the buñuelos cause they pour caramel over them, POUR not drizzle. They’re already sweet so the caramel was a bit much but if you have a bigger sweet tooth than me then this will be perfect.
matt paul
Great service and vibrant atmosphere. Can't speak on the food, only had drinks and chips at the bar.
Hannah Tobin
Our food was so good and we had a great experience sitting outside. Amanda, our server, was amazing! Highly recommend for delicious food and lovely service.
Dave T
This place is a nice go to lunch spot. The staff is friendly and prompt. It's not crowded during the week so you'll have your pick of a good seating location. The bar area is comfortable. I like that the stools have backs.
The food is fresh and tasty. I don't like the new sauce on the wings but that's a personal preference. The dry rub that they were using in the past was great. I always order a side of avocado and it always comes out perfectly ripe.
It's nice place to meet up with someone for lunch because it's quiet enough to have a conversation. The bar looks fully stocked. It would be a cool place to try out on a weekend night.
Travis DePrato
Decent service, not the best food. Chips and salsa are subpar, chile verde was tough, enchiladas were passable. Margaritas were good and the wait staff was absolutely lovely.
Lindsay Belden
Fun covid spot! Their back garage doors open to make the space feel airy and cozy at the same time. Delicious drinks and food.
Humberto Rivero
Great place to meet friends for dinner. Most everything is made in house and tastes fresh. The staff was super accommodating even though it got busy while we were there. Cheers to our server to did their best to answer all of our questions and ensured everyone in our party had something great to eat!
Bryan Birn
Good food, good service, decent prices. Friendly atmosphere! I will come back here again.
Julie B
Had a wonderful time sitting outside under the covered patio! The ceviche was super flavorful, full of excitement and prepared with great thought. The ambiance was set to perfection. Poquitos is the perfect place for a date, a Tuesday afternoon outing or just a great place for takeout!
Kathryn Collins
Carne Asada with a Northwest twist.
If you're looking for food that tastes like abuelita made it try another spot, but overall this was good.
Tom Hlaing
Very pleasant atmosphere and good food
Danny Knox
Great outdoor seating, and some fun margarita options looking forward to getting food here.
Taylor Soderstrom
It may not be authentic Mexican but its definitely delicious! Their covid setup was great. Safe and warm and great ambiance. Food came out really quickly and they accommodated a young child super well! Expensive but to be expected given the location. Would recommend.
barry haynes
They have great nachos, burritos and margaritas.
Heather Hall
Amazing options for food and drinks are spectacular. I love the nacho appetizer- they keep me coming back over and over again. With COVID and opening up the restaurant waits aren't tremendously long. Would highly suggest making reservations once once things return to normal.
Marcus Gramps
The staff are always wonderful; hostess, servers, and bartenders. All of them
Malena Chim
Plan for large parties! Daily deals, good food and perfect place to start the evening to hop around cap hill
Taylor Harris
Delicious guac, Margheritas and a super helpful staff. What more do you need to chow down.
Mary Armstrong
Food, service and atmosphere was a wonderful experience. I had the chicken burrito and James had tacos. The window view was fun.
Ayla Conklin
Food and cocktails werr mediocre. A very cool space.
Brian Starr
Great American style Mexican food!
I really prefer this location because it definitely feels more like “a night out” for us gals. (The Bothell location charges the same amount and is in a suburban city square.)
Try the chicken tacos, they are reasonably priced and taste amazing! The con to this restaurant is you have to pay for the chips and salsa. Drinks are also really good too!
A tip, never trust the front desk. (They are useless)

The atmosphere is great, I wish the food was better. I used to go here for brunch every weekend their scrambles are almost good, what ruins it is the potato's they serve as a side. They look and taste like they were cooked hours ago and have been sitting under a heat lamp. I'm pretty sure that's the case. If I'm going to pay premium prices, I expect a little more effort.
Having said that, the staff is awesome and attentive.

Only had the chips and queso on a lunch date but it was a nice setting. If additives outside be sure to sit near the heaters.
Ramiro Gonzalez
It was our first time to this place the food was good good experience the staff was very friendly it was full when we got there they no reservations but they still found a table for us.
Michael Sayre
The fresh chips and guacamole were absolutely delicious. Service was a little slow, but we were a large party and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Tacos here are delicious; we had steak, al pastor, and yam, all excellent. Price is decent for the quality and quantity. Only complaint from the table is that the horchata was a little watery.
Amber Allen
I absolutely love this restaurant and the service. I'm a big fan of Mexican food in general, however , I find that a lot of places make Mexican food kind of junky and is unhealthy. This restaurant was different from your usual Mexican fare. They had such a great selection of healthy options as well as an assortment of vegan options. The beer was really good and the food came very quickly and was well priced. I wish I knew the name of the server who helped us as he was exceptional. I can see why this place is so popular. We will definitely come back next time when we in Seattle. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for good Mexican food!
Susan Carlisle
Despite things I read online, there was no happy hour on Sunday afternoon when I stopped by. I stayed and had the house Margarita and some tacos. The tacos were tasty, but a bit overpriced for what you got. The margarita was average.
Alex Mlotok
The best Mexican restaurant I've visited ever!

Overall the restaurant is a great restaurant go go to dinner. The Queso as an appetizer is one of the best Queso's I've had and I grew up in San Antonio, TX. The Margaritas were just okay to me, but overall the food was great. It was definitely well priced. The ambiance was lively and fun. It wasn't too hard to get a table walking up on a weekend so that was a plus. The service and team there are awesome and super helpful. Great experience overall.
Ron Rivera
Tacos and Nachos!!! It was there like 5 seconds ago!! Great gated patio with delicious food!!!
Evan Schreiber
My experience was just okay. Server was polite but not very attentive. The house margarita had a different taste than I’m used to for a margarita, and it was just alright. Ordered the mixed taco plate (pork, beef, chicken), and they were all pretty bland. For the prices they charge, I wouldn’t go again or recommend.
f4ust
Food was ok nothing special. $11 quesadilla, salsa was fresh but lacked flavor.
International Petsitter
Fabulous atmosphere, especially in the open seating bar area with the fire pits. Happy Hour almost all day every day. Fun selection of seasonal bears on tap. Food is great - especially the roasted corn and the cheese quesadillas. Also make sure to try their homemade sauces - really unique and fresh. Great prices for the area!

First time going out to a restaurant since the pandemic began. I'm so glad this was the place. The chips and salsa are fantastic. The carne asada was absolutely divine. It says spicy on the menu, but only if you eat the jalapeno. Squeeze the lime on the steak and you won't be disappointed. The Fresa and Poquitos margaritas are both delicious. You won't be disappointed if you order the churros. The caramel sauce was the most delicious I've ever had, and I'm not usually a caramel fan. I'll definitely be back. As a native Texan, it was nice finding Tex-Mex style food again and this was better than most places in Texas.
Ana Delia Sias
What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have burritos in the menu .
Not an authentic Mexican restaurant
Well they only had 🌮 tacos d birria
But I wanted a birria burrito so the waiter asked the cook if he could make me a birria burrito instead of tacos ,so she made it happen, my burrito was delicious thank you
Rebekah Furey
Why didn't we go here sooner?! Patio is great and is open at 4pm daily (these the newest C19 hours as of 7.22.21). The drinks were all very tasty and strong. The food was amazing (both diners are vegetarian). Highly recommend this place. Really friendly staff too!
Bryan Leon
Server was nice, food was good.
For a Mexican restaurant pretty decent.
However they kept playing North American music and not Mexican
Sheli
Had Amazing food but the server we had kinda left us hanging.
Guru pragaash
We had Mexican burger and cheese enchiladas with green sauce. Both were really good. The chili sauce/spread on the burger was amazing and the beef was juicy. The green sauce could be spicy for some, but we liked it a lot. The tangy/tart flavor of the sauce went well with the spiciness.
Eventhough the portions were normal sized/we didn't feel full when eating, we felt uncomfortably full in a while. So I would suggest sharing an entrée and having a starter for 2 ppl.
Piyatida Junpasook
Outstanding for Churro 🥰
James O'Neal
Came here because it was the only place with the orange bowl on. Ordered a beer and some tacos. My team lost but the bartenders and servers were kind and courteous and I'll definitely come back to try out more of the menu. I got the taco plate which came with 3 different kinds of tacos all of which were amazing. The plating was exceptional. All in all great experience
Patricia Zavalza
I only had cocktails here but they were amazing!
Lauren F
Solid Cap Hill staple. Good drinks! The food sometimes can be hit or miss, but the last few visits there seems to have been an improvement. Also, recommend for larger parties since it is spacious with a large open seating bar, though it is popular. So you may have to be patient for that big table to open up.
Al Allen
Don’t come here!.....because you’ll just be in my way! I had the carne asada and holy cow it’s good!!! I’m going to regret telling all of you about it because the wait to get in will only be longer. Washed my carne asada down with a Purist Margarita with mezcal. It was so good I had two. My wife has the mixed tacos which is an awesome trio of three different meats. Overall loved the food, cool interior and very prompt and friendly service. We’ll be back!!!
Mike Bloom
Food was good, service was good, but it was awfully noisy.
Andrew Kunihiro
Came here for NYE and find a table in the open seating area (after having to leave 2 other establishments due to private events!). Our waiter was great! She checked in on us constantly and hustled to get us some celebratory drinks right before midnight. Food was delicious and reasonably priced too.
Trey Bailey
Going to a concert at Neumos or just out for a walk in the city, this is a great place to stop for tacos. The Happy Hour menu is excellent portions and hot prices.
Bar area is open seating, wine pours out are on the limited side and it's not going to be a place to find a huge selection of craft beer.
The atmosphere is fantastic in terms of meeting up with a small group of friends, four or less.
The service is very, very polite and the food comes out unusually quick. That being said, it all tastes great.
Mario Uribe
As a Michoacán Mexican I know about carnitas since I was a child. I ordered carnitas here and was disappointed with how dry and breast chickenesk feel and taste it had. It needs to have a mix of variety of the pork meat mixed to give it the flavor of real carnitas. The rest of the meals seemed like knock ofs of authentic Mexican food. I do not recommend this place. If your in the area for a visit I assume like me you are here for a good meal as well. Picture not needed for this.
Ashley Farley
This place is usually packed and there is a good reason for it. I've always been extremely pleased with the food quality and the authentic flavors. As a vegetarian I feel like they have a huge selection for any dietary needs. The drinks are also tasty and constantly changing so there is always something new to try.
Ryan King
Wonderful Mexican joint in Capitol Hill.
Food is excellent. The street corn is to die for, and the tacos are well filled and reasonably priced. Skip the grasshoppers - they were really acidic and a bit soggy - really neat item to have on the menu though. Plus they have authentic Mexican Coca-Cola, which is always a treat.
Staff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. Two dining rooms and a large central bar make up the restaurant.
Kai Arlo
Food tasted authentic and fresh. Service was fast and smooth. Atmosphere was booming. Recommend 10/10 💯 …
Morgan M
Met a group of friends here on a recent trip up to Seattle! Great ambiance and people watching.
The mocktail I ordered was delicious as were the cocktails ordered by friends. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The food tasted fresh and the portions were generous. I had enough left over for a second meal!
The only thing I didn’t like about the experience was when I accidentally left my to-go box on the table, but that was 100% my fault.
Great spot and I’d come back on my next visit!
Pat V
This place is usually quite crowded so be prepared. The menu has a few items that you don't normally find. The vegetarian choices seem somewhat limited especially for a Mexican restaurant. Of flavor profile works well and food is good.
Audrey Rothbacher
One of my favorite restaurants on the hill. Solid food choices for gf and vegetarian people like myself. The drinks are always amazing, too. They're getting more popular and it seems like the weekend night crowd is very different (security at the entrance it's needed now) than their weekday local crowd. Go for happy hour or brunch, this place has a really cool vibe and beautiful interior.
Luis Hernandez
Food was incredible the guac with bacon and chicharrón was specially good. Had the steak tacos and they didn't disappoint. Not five stars because our waitress seemed annoyed when serving us. On the positive side the other waiter was really nice.
Darnell Kebo
Haven't been disappointed yet. Al Pastor Tacos, toasted Grasshoppers, Chilaquiles...yummy. Salsa and guacamole flavorful. The patio area is really nice especially during the winter when it's heat. Service was prompt and friendly during non peak times.
bartleby_ bones
Great brunch. The mimosas are fantastic. The breakfast burrito was superb. Very friendly staff
Dominic D
I feel like every birthday dinner in Capitol Hill is either at Poquitos or Barrios. Though I’m never in love with this place, it’s miles about Barrios in many ways. I’d recommend others for better Mexican in Seattle, but a good option for the Hill.
Food is slightly above average. I’ve had the enchiladas a million times, and found them ok. People have always raves about the salad, so I’d recommend based on their trusted advice. Drinks have always been good. Well poured, promptly served and spicy when asked :) Finally, I’ve always enjoyed service here. Staff are warm, welcoming and great at handling any group size or need.
Raghavendra Rao
I ordered the loaded nachos veg and the fried corn. Both of them tasted amazing. However, there was an issue with the nachos. I mentioned that I wanted no meat on my nachos, however there was meat. I had to return the order and get new one.
Lily Williamson
I was seated in the back with the mist fans and first off have to say that those mist fans are amazing! They're incredibly effective and tuned to the point where they don't make anything wet. It's as close to dry water as it gets. The food was good and the servers were very responsive. I felt that they should have gone heavier with spices because the food was slightly on the bland side. It was spiced, just not spiced enough. Overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back again.
Gi D
This was my first venture out since Covid hit. I was apprehensive, but after walking by several times, went with a friend who was having a rough time. Tables were adequately distanced and clean, QR code could be scanned for a menu and you walk to the bar to place an order. Good was brought in a timely manner and OMG i missed their nachos. We had fish tacos, nachos, guac and a couple margaritas. It felt almost normal. Servers and staff were friendly and I am glad I decided to go!
azmotronik
Hands down - best guacamole ever.
Summer Davis
Maybe a little busy for my taste, but the food and drinks that came were both good. $11-12 for a margarita seems like a premium for the amount you get, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper on the Hill. Great nachos, again maybe a tad small for the price, but extremely well done.
Gil Gido
Came for nachos and margaritas. Tasty and filling.
E A
Lively, energetic corner restaurant/bar. We enjoyed their large bowl of chips and three different salsas. Husband had a trio of Tacos which he reported were very good. The drinks were well made, strong and delicious. Would definitely return there for food and drinks.
Liz Elkins
This is my jam.
Abby Cooper
I was craving some Mexican food and found Poquitos on Seated. It was delicious! From the start, the decor felt traditional and authentic. The cocktails were fantastic. For a fruity medley, I recommend a strawberry infused tequila margarita. Guac -- perfect! The mixed taco plate was also tasty. Steak tacos were the best of the 3, but all were delicious. Of note: chips and salsa aren't free. We opted for guac and were not disappointed.
Chase Schottler
Best Mexican and margaritas in Capitol Hill.
Diana Joan Nazziwa
Small for how popular they are. Very busy no matter when you go there. Seriously. But it's memorable when you get a seat. It's one of those places that is like any other bar but it's the loudness and unique groups in there that make time pass by. You can't help but make a friend next to you! The food is to die for and savings are found at their happy hour!
Meghan Lever
This place is so good. The food and drinks are wonderful and the salsa is to die for. Even the guacamole (which in my opinion is pretty much always good) is actually outstanding. The vibe is fun and the decor is beautiful but seriously come for the food the rest of it is just a bonus.
Shawne Johnson
Great food, beautiful environment, only missing a star because our kids, 6&8, thought even the kids menu was too spicy and didn't eat. Amazing salsas, great presentation! Of course we think the more flavor the better!
Aashish Sinha
Great margaritas and the fish tacos are good
Zachary Schmitz
I was excited to try the fried grasshoppers, but they were completely overwhelmed with spice. It was like taking a spoonful of Chile-lime seasoning straight. Luckily the management was nice enough to remove the charge on them! Anyway, the rest of the food was good but not fantastic. Very fast service.
Kylie Owen
Good margaritas, although very expensive for how much you get. I ordered grilled chicken nachos, and the queso they use tastes like alfredo sauce, especially when combined with the chicken, it didn't really taste right. Good, but just not what I was expecting. Our server was initially very cool, but as soon as the place got busy we got lost in the shuffle and it took forever for the second half of our group to get food. Overall, I probably won't go back because it's very pricy and I wasn't really impressed by the food
Skye N.
This place is great, very authentic cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere!
Update 2/21/22: I hadn't been here since before COVID, used to love the authentic stuff and the fact they had chapulines, the menu has shifted to be much more Tex-Mex than southern Mexican like it used to be. Pretty disappointed about that, dropped my rating.
deborah c
Best Mexican fare in Seattle. Have a margarita... You will not be disappointed.
Sophie Schmitter
Great place for a food fest. My boyfriend and I had a great meal here. We visited during taco hour on Saturday 3-4pm and ordered one of everything to share. Our waitress, Angela was awesome and really made sure we were taken care of. At 4pm the full happy hour menu opened up but we were already full. Great ambience in a happening spot on the hill. My boyfriend enjoyed watching college football while we dined as I enjoyed the guac 😂.
Marshall Ray (Mars)
My top recommendation for Poquitos is to sit in the sun room! It's on the East side of the building, such a cozy vibe even on a rainy day. Also highly recommend the queso! Had some great tacos during taco happy hour with a Michelada that stands out as one of my favs in Seattle.
Jeanette Brizuela
Cute place! Mimosas were great. Appetizer was delicious.
Ryan Karg
Food was great but the flan dessert was hard and old like a cake, it should be smooth and light
Kim Grummel
Great food and yummy margaitas. HH is tacos only, but quite a few options to choose from. Highly recommend the queso & guac with your chips!
Mark Estrada
Such a fun happy hour in Seattle. The happy hour specials are at a great price and the selection fulfilled our craving for Mexican food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very lively and the staff kept the vibe fun. I would definitely go back here for dinner or another happy hour.
Michael M
Great Food and Service. First impression was during happy hour and the bartender was really friendly and provided suggestions on some of the selections. Although not the most cost-effective for the price, it makes up in quality. They make excellent Mojito's as well.
Will Scott
Visited Poquitos with a large group for a friend's birthday dinner. The restaurant felt lively and bustling, but the noise level was low enough that I had no trouble talking with the people around me. The Mole enchiladas were good, although the mole was much more sweet than spicy. The Hot sauces on the table made up for that, and were quite good. Service was great, especially adding a candle to our dessert churros and then offering to take photos for us.
Ankit Goyal
Decent place. The Cocktails served here are quite watery and have very little alcohol in them. Basically you are ordering a highly priced flavoured ice water if you are ordering cocktails. Food is good though.
Alan Newman
Just okay. The service is great. Guac was really good. Tacos, well, were tacos. The tortilla soup was ok but not worth $9 for a big bowl. Salsa trip was good. Enchilada suiza was perfect. Overall a good meal. We will return to try more menu items.
- Lon
Food was great! I had enchiladas and the trio salsa and was quite pleased. The salsa was refreshing, chips were crunchy and the enchiladas were flavorful and cooked well.
Shannon Perez
Love it...best rice ever. Awesome waitress. Comfortable seating. Great margaritas and one great memory was made here...ate dinner with a fairly famous musician after his band played at the Capital Hill Block Party 2016!
Jeff Pearson
Great food and friendly helpful service. Good atmosphere. I bet this place is packed quite often. My brothers and I found it looking for a quick beer and snack food during his flight layover. I'm taking my wife there soon for lunch.
Priti Shah
Nice place for Mexican food. Veggie options are available. Test is really good 👍 …
Peter Sharp
This place is awesome. My girlfriend and I wanted a nice night out. I asked for the best table in the joint and they gave it to us, in the corner to see all of what was happening on the floor. The mazcal and Margueritas were perfect, and the food was some of the best Mexican food we have had.
Lead Sheep
The food was awesome. Service was outstanding. The kids (2 & 5) ate EVERY LAST BITE of their quesadillas, rice, and beans. My parents, who "don't like spicy food," loved it too. My wife and I revelled in the spicy side, and it was the best pibil I've had outside of Yucatan.
Robin M
Great atmosphere to hole up by the patio fire in the rainy fall/winter that converts to all open via pull-up doors in the summer. Solid margaritas and a great happy hour menu. The roasted corn reminded me of a high-end version of elote we used to get all the time in Texas and Mexico and the smoked brisket taquitos were awesome. Interestingly the tacos were not all that spectacular. Definitely worth a few trips to explore all the options.
Joe Hicks
Service and decor is great. Food is mediocre. Ceviche is more of a cold slaw with some fish and is unremarkable. Spicy Chipotle Soup is just very sour, not spicy, and lacks any unifying element. Trio of Salsas are all uninspired, tortillas are good, though. I am not surprised that this place was opened by the same people that run Bastille. Both have good decor, are lively, and have disappointing food.
alejandro batalla
Do not I repeat do not go to this place to eat. Their food is not authentic at all and is borderline offensive to Mexican food. With that being said their savings grace is the liquor selection they have and great bartenders. They have a sangrita chaser that is a must have if you're taking shots.
Christopher Kent
Honestly, this might be my favorite burrito spot. It's probably a good thing it's a little bit of a walk from my apartment, otherwise I would 100% eat here too often. It's a classic mission burrito atmosphere inside. A decent amount of seating inside, but late at night on the weekends it definitely gets packed. The first time I ever came here, there was a lineup that swung around the front of the building outside!I almost always get the super burrito, and haven't had a complaint about any of the meat choices I've put inside. You can watch the whole burrito making from the line, like many other burrito joints. Definitely great taste and value, and can't recommend it highly enough.
Luis C.
Always enjoyed the food here. Prices are good. Bit if warning though - 3 of my friends got food poisoning going here. Normally one person I can write off, but 3 people in the same week is a lot.
Chris Brownell
Staff was great. Billy was very good and on top of things. The suiza enchiladas were flavorful but mushy. They had too much raw onion on top to be called good and the side of rice and beans while again flavorful, were tepid in temp.
Megan Carter
The BEST chicken tacos and guacamole I have ever had! New to the Seattle area and randomly discovered this spot. The service was exceptional both nights I was there and the atmosphere perfect. Highly recommend for a delicious meal and super friendly wait staff!
Ignacio Quintero
I've been 3 times recently because for some reason some of my friends insist in going since it's easier to get a table here than Fogón which is much better and close by.
I've ordered the carne asada all 3 times and it is served differently every time. It's been cooked really well but super overpriced in my opinion. The rest of the menu is far from authentic, my main issue is how expensive it is for such fake food.
Fes N.
Went on Thursday night and for some odd reason, it felt like a Friday or a Saturday night. Wall to wall people. A bit understaffed because I don't think they were expecting that much of a crowd. Regardless, we had great food, great drinks, and really great service. Definitely will be back.
James Salas
The Purist Margarita was fantastic! The pork belly tacos were fantastic as well; nice and crispy with a strong heat from the fresh habaneros on top. I thought the queso dip was too spicy for most. The shrimp ceviche was lacking in flavor and shrimp but had an adundance of radish. Overall I thought the food was overpriced or underportioned. $17 for 3 small tacos is a bit much.
Raleigh Bohall
What a great experience in a very appealing atmosphere. The food is on point, and you will definitely be leaving there with leftovers. I look forward to coming back here in the future if I’m ever in the area, but for now I still have another full dinner I can enjoy at the house👍👍👍. …
Marla Manes
My favorite spot in Seattle– I'm here once a week to indulge in a dinner of drinks, salsa, guac, and a quesadilla. Unbeatable flavors & atmosphere– a must do!
Robert Williams
Consistently out of everything, usuals hard to get a table in spite of numerous other options. Ilove grasshoppers, but they have a major supply problem and are going to take them off the menu soon. We did have a great server who is one of the managers on my last visit. Overall I'm fairly positive, but not planning to go again.
Jon Mozeika
The food is decent, the atmosphere and the cocktails are great. Try the La Fiona to spice up your evening. They have a nice open wall bar area with fire pits for those summer evenings.
Joanna Vanvalkenberg
Food was pretty good- service was quick. Salads are very small for the price you pay (10$ for like six pieces of broccoli seems a bit steep). The enchiladas were great, though!
MelEesa Lorett
Great food, best grilled fish tacos I’ve ever had. Fried cauliflower tacos were a close second. We were lucky to walk right in and get seated but it fills up fast. Great atmosphere and service.
Stephanie Groesbeck
Delicious! Chips and guac were great and the service was really great. Very prompt even when the place was packed. You can't go wrong with the watermelon margarita. Pink and delicious? Yes please!
Debora deSouza
Great food, awesome service. Always solid experience
Mathew Gusenkov
Awesome vibes, cool decor, and the staff was super nice!
Santanu Biswas
Excellent atmosphere… Great service… Tasty Mexican food… and of course Beer is great!!
Joseph Groom
Had the best drinks, food and service. Amanda on the patio bar was so attentive and really made the experience great !! Will recommend to others.
Heather Murphy
Sort of intimidating when you enter the building. Also the door at the entryway was constantly opening and closing bring in a very cold draft inside the restaurant. The beer selection was alright. The chip and salsa was not free. The salsa was not what I expected to be, it was liquidy. Not enough chunk. The cheese nacho was good but pricey.
Daniel Loo
Tacos and cops are good but nothing special and the prices are high. $15 for 3 small tacos and $13 for a drink that was 80% ice. Only come for here for the ambience - but even that isn’t very great as it’s super loud
Anthony Soo Kaim
Very hip and "happening" place with a fun and energising vibe but honestly the food was kind of mediocre. Went with a group of four and we all felt the same about the food. Given the number of great Mexican restaurants in Seattle I doubt I'll be returning here.
Danh Nguyen
Meh... The food was mediocre at best. The chips tasted stale and the beef barbacoa I had was extremely dry and fairly tasteless.
You're certainly paying for the ambiance and not the food for sure.
Philip Boyles
I went here with my 5yr old for a late lunch. The food was amazing, he loved his quesadillas, he told me they were even cheesier than the ones I made!! He also through the homemade corn tortillas were the best.
My Assada tacos rice and beans were the perfect light snack I was looking for. The carne was cooked perfectly.
The staff was wonderful and great with my son.
Joshua Kemper
Always been a fan of the food. Drinks are good too. Space is limited during COVID but we got a good spot at the bar for my birthday recently.
Erika Silvestre
I really like this place. Like REALLY LIKE this place. Everything I've had from here has been fresh, delicious and reasonably priced.
Today I went for happy hour and had the beef tacos (a MUST), al pastor tacos (also amazing), salsa trio, and guacamole (a 4 out of 5) for about $6 a pop.
Their drinks are very crafty, creative and out-of-the-box, and feature some Latin flair.
The churros were a bit overdone but the Tres Leches cake was decadent... just wished there was more of it!
Antonio Anderson
The chips and salsa was bomb!!!! 💣💣 But the servings of the main dish could have been a better serving amount!!! …
Megan Ellison
Our waiter was so awesome! Knew his tequila, and even spoke Spanish with one of our friends from Mexico. Good atmosphere a little dimly lit, can be a little noisy but the tables are spread enough for the most part
Akhil Sakpal
Always a great experience, a very lively and fun place for the evenings. The drinks are amazing and the food ain't bad either. I didn't like their winter menu so much, but the spring menu looks super. Will be visiting this place a few times at least over the next few months.
Kathrin C
Only used to come here for drinks but had dinner there twice now. Coming here mainly to see my friends who work there. Food is mainly solid there and drinks are good. Very popular place. Make sure to come early to get a table or a spot at the bar
Rodger Johnson
Popped in here with the family to get out of the rain in mid women's March. Ended up having the best Mexican food EVER. What a find! We will be coming back next time in Seattle. Vegetarians:. Try the yam tacos and the tostada. Best salsa we have had in a long time as well.
Allison Schneider
This is one of my favorite go-to places on Capitol Hill! Great for dinner, happy hour or late night out with friends on a Friday night. Food and drinks are excellent and has the same laid back-yet-classy vibe as sister restaurant, Bastille.
Matt Hall
Modern American Mexican spot for non-authentic tacos and margs. Certainly won't be impressing anyone with your taste in Mexican food by taking them here, but the layout and location more than make up for it. Try to sit in the sun room to the right if possible.
Ian Hogan
We went to this place for brunch last week and it was great I had the daily special posole hominy soup my wife had the squash and beet salad. It was so good that we came back with some friends for dinner 3 days later, the enchilada suiza is amazing and the carne asada tacos were solid (probably my least favorite of everything we've had). Solid Mexican food on the upscale side but a welcome addition to the rotation.
Heather Bede
This is a great Tex Mex restaurant located on Capital Hill. There is a full bar and a 21+ only indoor patio that is a neat place to sit. For families or people under 21, the main restaurant in front is for you. The tortillas, salsa and guac are constantly being made and are really good. Happy hour has great prices and a good selection. The kids food comes on a heavy glass tv tray looking dish and includes the main entree with rice and beans. My favorite dish are the yam tacos and they can be found on the happy hour menu by themselves (3) or the dinner menu served with rice and beans.
Cynthia Lepore
I recommend the corn appetizer! The taco trio entree was also pretty good. I was surprised at how spicy the chicken was. Been here a couple times and it's been good both times so far!
Elizabeth Machmeier
Wait staff were hard to find but the place was busy on a Saturday night. They serve large bowls of chips (no more 4 baskets a meal shenanigans) and the variety of cocktails is worth the trip.
Alexandra Christodoulou
Great decor and atmosphere! Keep coming back for the food and drinks. Really enjoyed the watermelon margarita with a hint of lime!
Jess Tupper
This place is weird in terms of execution. As in, the corn appetizer is awesome, but comes without chips or tortillas to eat it in. The portions are large, but need more tortillas if you order tacos.
Expect to be surrounded by twentysomethings on dates, but that's normal for any decent bar on the Hill.
Katie Morgan
This is the spot in Seattle for great Mexican food, margaritas and atmosphere. Located squarely in the heart of the bustling center of Capital Hill's restaurant scene, this place is always busy but well worth the wait. Their tacos are simple and delicious, margaritas are made from fresh ingredients and the chips and guacamole are some of the best.
beef o'malley
solidly above average. somewhat unique menu but inconsistent taste wise, seems they do the simple things great and they're more ambitious dishes lack the flavor you'd expect. worth a try
PERRY McGRIFF
Extremely inviting atmosphere. Meals will fill you up completely. Drinks are beyond fantastic. Customers of all kinds are all top notch.
Good for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
Laurel Clark
I had the most amazingly delicious pancake here. It was thick and has a great consistency. I'm looking forward to trying more items. The atmosphere was also enjoyable and interesting.
Alexander Youngblood
Poquitos is always a fun time. Their food quality varies wildly but is always pretty good. Their margaritas are fanatic. It's super cosy inside and I recommend sitting in the bar near a fire or on a heated stone bench. Don't forget to pick up some churros for dessert.
Daniela Bailey
I really like Poquitos. The habanero infused drinks are Spicy!! Just the heads up. I like the food too, although I was disappointed last time we went, they didn't have the mini soles, which were such a good appetizer.
The staff is usually friendly and the ambiance is great.
Please bring the mini sopes back....
Summer Nash
Aw yeah. Nachos big enough to share. Ask for habanero hot sauce and salsa. Fab.
No Tanks
I am not sure what i ordered, but it was good. Some sort of flat bean base shaped like a mini snowboard topped with meat, veggies, and cheese. But the best part was the dessert - Cheesecake burrito. We might have ordered a second one but a guy came in and was welll... dancing with the soda machine so we headded out. All around very memorable!
Natalie Williams
Always a fun vibrant spot for good food and great drinks. I love tequila and they have a large selection! Try one of their flights with different chasers. Guac and salsa is great!
Choklytte BSN
Spectacular shrimp Tacos. Great guacamole. Lovely staff. Absolutely recommend

I went to eat with my friends tacos and they tasted good, but the drinks does not taste that good. Beautiful place.
Cape Disappointment
Food here is great. Would make for a good date spot, because it’s comfortable, but a little nicer. Food was good, but expensive. Full bar. Waiter was the nicest person ever.
Christopher Cutshall
I don't really come here for the food. I come for the relaxing ambiance and the margaritas. They're not the best I've ever had, but I just love to sit in their sun room and listen to the rain hit the plastic roof while people watching.
Chelsea Snodgrass
Great place to get a drink and happy hour food in Capitol Hill. Sheltered patio and spacious indoor seating make it great for large groups. Delicious margaritas, chips and salsa, and guac. I have not had the pleasure yet to try any of their other food options but they all look good going by. Great decor and good tv screens for watching games. Centrally located in the Capitol Hill bar scene too!
WM Li
A local friend recommend me to come here. There taco are really amazing
ALittleBeast
Solid dining choice. Food seems a bit pricey at times but I haven't ordered anything I didn't like yet. Go for the regular margarita. Short glasses ain't worth it, though they're all tasty.
Aaron L
Pretty good Mexican. Fun place to eat.
Kaylee Stutts
This place is underrated. The food has always been great and the staff friendly/attentive when I’m here. I’ve often heard people complain about the lack of options for Mexican food in the city, but this one is solid.
Kenneth Oberloh
I ordered from the brunch menu. The food here is absolutely fantastic.i ordered the potatoe chorizo hash. We also ordered the quesadilla and guac. The guac is an absolute must have. Great place to nurse a hangover with great comfort food and bold flavors. Great wait staff and host.
Dustin Cardenas
I started with the salsa trio and guacamole. These are served with freshly made tortilla chips. Each salsa is amazing in its own way but my favorite is always salsa verde and this salsa verde was bright and tangy with a subtle spice to it. The guacamole is also really good with a great balance of lime and spice and the perfect level of chunkiness.
I ordered tacos al pastor. The sauce was smoky sweet and paired with the slow roasted pork and pineapple chunks amazingly. I found that adding some of the house hot hot habanero salsa added the perfect finishing touch.
My mom ordered several margaritas. I think El Tamarindo was a bit sweet but it likely would have been too tart otheriwse. The purist margarita was elegant with an añejo and fresh lime that perfectly highlighted the personality of a decent tequila.
I definitely want to come back!
Destiny Carson
Food was good, a little spicy so would have liked a little warning on the menu. Service was okay. They should defiantly invest in AC for the summers here. Salsa and guac is extra but delicious.
Jonathan Gonzalez
The waiter we had was awesome & very polite! Never got his name, but he has curly hair & a beard. My receipt says "Server: A1".
I always judge a Mexican restaurant based on how their rice & beans taste. If they can't make rice & beans, typically nothing else on the menu taste great. Poquito's rice & beans were spot on!
I'm from San Diego & the locals there always tell me Mexican food outside of Southern California just isn't the same. Poquito's is definitely different from what I'm used to in San Diego, but the food tasted great. In the end that's all that matters.
Mike Yim
Shrimp ceviche is good. Great place to have some drinks with some beer especially on a nice day.
Love the atmosphere.
Latia Daquila
I didn't enjoy the mole French fries. The mole sauce isn'tgood, in my humble opinion. Great service and usually great food and margs. I will definitely go again.
Dalia M
This place is great. Their food is awesome, mainly because they have some nice plates from Oaxaca, in the American style but still pretty close. They also have handmade tortillas, pistachio cheesecake and esquites!! Also grande tostada (like tlayuda with chapulines). The decor is great, it remains me a traditional Mexican kitchen.
Mitchell Ngo
Overloaded chips with small dip. Grasshoppers was a new experience. Tasted like dried shrimp but a little sharp in the mouth. Waiter felt slow in service.
Jesse Shefford
We live in the neighborhood, eat lunch out most days, and would like to add this restaurant to our list of regular lunch spots.
We have eaten here twice. We liked the food, but neither time could we find on the menu good choices to make up a proper meal.
We had hoped that Piquitos would do what Barrio had failed to do, but as yet it hasn't. When we are in the mood for this kind of food we find that we still have to get in the car and go to Cactus! in Madison Park.
Please make your lunch menu more enticing.
John
Upper scale atmosphere with upper scale prices. A good idea for date night and delicious food. If you are just looking for mexican food there are better options on Capitol hill.
Chelsea Baker
A must - stop for me when I'm in Seattle. I love the butternut squash soup. They have awesome vegetarian options, and friendly fast service.
Serina Gee
I went here for Cinco de Mayo and it was super crowded. There was a 45 min wait in the evening, but during the afternoon our group of 8 was able to snag a seat in the outdoor patio. It was a little messy, but it was a busy day and all the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was alright as well.
Rob Moore
Great food, good vibe, reasonable prices. Indoor & covered outdoor seating. Excellent slightly spicy guacamole. Don’t miss happy hour!
Mary Farah
Lovely bar and restaurant in one of Seattle's most beloved neighborhoods. Service was good but drinks were ok. Not the most memorable margaritas.
A F (Pochemu2)
When trying to orchestrate a friend group hang out, Poquitos was usually the first choice. Ample seating, drinks and easy shareable plates. One autumn afternoon, a squash quesadilla did steal my heart.
When my friends reach to snap that obligatory group picture, the background is pretty and cozily lit.
A small suggestion: Definitely take advantage of a quiet Sunday evening, an experimental margarita and a specials plate. But if you pass by and there is steam on the windows and a heavy noise level, maybe dont hope on the food too much.
Kara Armatis
The nachos were fantastic and the staff was very nice and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back soon!
Mirad Meer
Very good experience, went there for a birthday dinner. Food was amazing, service was good. Resteraunt was maybe a bit loud, but a good experience none the less.
Zach Kissinger
Decent food (not the best Mexican food I've ever had, although I lived in SoCal). Great drinks and bartenders. Awesome patio and happy hour!
Susan Kim
Katya our server was the best!!!! Super attentive, kind, and superb in anyway!!!
Thank you for making my day and mu experience at Poquitos a delightful one!!!
BoboAlexandroP DumaleJr (Bolynn Luta Gilita)
Awesome 👍😎
Jenny Lynn
Me and my boyfriend got into an argument and left before we ordered food. But the chips and salsa was good 😂 Would like to come back and try something else on the menu …
Jordan Landers
Chilaquiles with chorizo were great! We live in LA and have some views about chilaquiles, but these folks rose to the challenge. Bloody Mary left something to be desired, a lot of ice and weaker than I expected/prefer.
Kristina
Love this place. Great tacos, atmosphere, and service. And there’re seats where you can bring kids as well. Nice for both afternoon meeting with friends and a night out.
Richard Flowers Jr.
Friendly staff and daily specials. Nice size plates too.
Kelly Pinkley
Awesome environment, great margaritas, I'd say the food is a 3. The 4 times I have been there (because I like the environment so much) the food has never wow'd me there is something lacking in the quality, flavor, and if you order the carnitas make sure you have some salsa or something to put on them they are super crispy bits that probably have been cooked the entire day.
Greg Gaines
I really like their unique spin on Mexican classics. First off, I think the tortillas are really good. Fresh and warm, they are awesome with an appetizer of queso fundido.
I love the pork chile rellenos with the unique spice flavors inside - they are a lot better than the typical ones you get at the strip mall mexican restaurants up here in the Northwest.
Happy hours are really good too; delicious margaritas and a fun atmosphere to hang with friends after work. Poquitos is definitely one of my fav mexican places in the city.
Rudy Garcia (Rudy)
A few notches above tex-mex. I really like this place and the wait staff. Super interesting drinks and the outside bar area is one of my favorite spots the eat brunch. The wet torta is probably one of my favorite tortas of all time.
Anand R
Grilled corn was out of the world We got sweet potato flautas for main course, which was great too. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone craving good Mexican place with good vibes.
Carissa Flowers
I thought it was really good! Cool decor inside, super attentive waiter, and the food was really good. I got mini sopes for happy hour, great price even better soles! Good chips and guac, overall really enjoyed it!
Kazim Das
Great food, service and ambience.
Kevin Orndorff
Decent Mexican food, also has grasshoppers available to eat
Jesse Prather
The food was amazing yet simple. Fresh ingredients and there were a lot of veggie options too. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant!
Craig Sullivan
Great food and portions. The bartenders are really fun. Vibey place
J L
Amen, guacamole! Jim and Deming hit another home run with Poquitos. Similar to the design and approach to their first big hit (Bastille in Ballard), Poquitos shines like a big, sliver star atop Capitol Hill. Who ever heard of being served more (fresh and bright green) guacamole than two people will ever finish? We also ordered roasted corn, spicy prawns, with the obligatory rice and beans - all of it was terrific. The only reason I am not giving The Big P a 5 star rating? Our fabulous margaritas took faaar too long to get to us...must hire more bartenders. Overall, this restaurant is a "must do."
Rohit Ganjoo
A nice quaint place. Food is excellent and the service is marvellous. Though the lunch menu is not that elaborate, however everything is made with perfection and has after taste.
Ty Bridges
Poquitos isn’t small at all. Big place with multiple dining options (dining room, bar area, patio, etc.). The service was great as were the drinks and the food. Great location as well. And price point isn’t bad at all.
Neal Tibrewala
Limited Menu, standard Tex-Mex choices. Decent tasting, but flavors aren't authentic. Portions are a bit small, drinks are a bit on the high side.
John McDaniel
Loved the habanero margarita and tortilla skillet I had for lunch.
Will go again. Sometimes I pop in and they are too busy and I don't fee like waiting with so many other options nearby.
Mika Mirage
Nice place for a bite while you've been drinking on the hill. Good at making simple drinks. The quesadilla is what is like to get there. Friendly talkative staff.
Cameron Lowell
Great hangout spot for Friday/Saturday nights. One of the most centrally-located bars on Cap Hill with decent pricing on some Tex-Mex favorites. Love this place.
Jocelyn Coimbre
It does the trick for margaritas and Mexican, but the price for the flavor isn’t a “5”. The burritos at a trick are more bang for your buck, bs $16 for (3) tacos - HOWEVER the location can’t be beat and the convenience.
Angelo L
I really loved this place !
Really great food and great service .
The restaurant looked clean and my food was served to me quickly and fresh .
We had the tacos , chips and guacamole and the tortilla soup .
Gordon Naccarato
Delicious Tacos Carnitas. Seriously great tequila list. Rowdy, fun, covered patio usually crowded (pre-covid.)
Quavo Huncho
Fantastic drinks & food. Enjoy it for lunch but have been for dinner too. Highly recommend chicken enchiladas. Love the chips & salsa too
Genah Ponaire
It's hard to leave here without being completely stuffed as there's just too many yummy choices! The happy hour is great for a group, get one or two of everything and some drinks for a great afternoon!
Mitchell Walker
They turned a lot of people away due to the kitchen closing down early because they were in need of a dishwasher. This seemed like a real poor decision. If you literally just shout out on the sidewalk that you need a dishwasher you can find one. I couldn't figure out if this was a place to get plastered or a place to eat well. I guess it is square in the middle.
Daniel Rivera
We ran into this place while walking around and dang! It was awesome. I have to say, we ordered the Carne Asada tacos and they ROCKED.the quesadilla was loaded. And the guac was amazing as well. All around great place!
B Z
We stopped here before going to a concert at Barboza and ordered drinks. The drinks were a little pricey but the service was quick and friendly. The margaritas are really delicious.
Scott Stewart
Outdoor dining. They set a heater up near my table. Excellent service. A little pricey for what was served though.
Jeff Davies
We went for happy hour in the patio. Great tacos. The tostada was one of the best I ever had. Great atmosphere and staff.
Rachael Decker
Came here for my brother's 21st bday and they were super accommodating for making a later reservation for us. Good service and great food - I could have eaten the guacamole forever!
James Akagi
Great service. Food was great. But the amount they give is super skimpy. 2 beef tacos for $7? I need three, plz.
Markie Mitchell
I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. I ordered the enchiladas and was impressed by the rich flavor and portion size. Would come back for sure!
Newsha Makooi
Great vibe and location. Friendly service and delicious meals.
Kawin Kaentrakool
Love the drinks here! were usually drunk by the time the food arrives so I'll refrain from making specific comments, but they were all good. Albeit abit small.
J J (JJ loves food)
Good Mexican food
Food tasted very fresh. Overall ambience and the atmosphere was amazing
Aldos Riquelme
The food was a bit bland and tortillas were not very authentic as they said it would be. Service was good.
Chauncey Williamson
Authentic and absolutely delicious!!
Jill Brandt
Growing up in Texas-- I know good mexican food and good tex-mex. and so far, Poquitos is the best I've found in Seattle. Plus, they have my favorite tequila (Partida Anejo)-- and a great bar. Def recommend if you are looking for a fun place with great food and drinks!
Nick Patri
They've created an awesome environment, both in the main restaurant and in the side bar/dining room. The food is great and the drinks are solid.
Brendan Lee
Friendly staff and great food. The place is huge but somehow felt cozy and really well done for the layout. Definitely excited to go back.
steeplechaser33
Went here with the family. Received prompt and very friendly service.. food was delicious. And most strikingly, was brought to the table with amazing speed even tho the restaurant was busy.
Mark Diethelm
I went for brunch, the breakfast burrito is really good, it's big enough for two people to share.
Leah Becerra
I had pork tacos and they were great. I heard that their chicken and waffles are amazing, too. A little pricey but very, very good quality food.
Celia Reed
The pictures turned out to be very nice and came with a quality frame of Matt. This will definitely become my favorite Mexican restaurant in the region!
Ian Johnson
Unique, delicious and reasonably priced. The location is great. The Margs are good too. It's a great spot to pregame for a night out I'm the cap hill area
E B
Hopping place with fun atmosphere! Great Mexican food and friendly staff! We were there for happy hour and enjoyed everything.
Naj A
A century & a half ago, my date loved their queso dip & it’s a decent spot. Take a friend & give Poquitos a try!
Erin Darling
The atrium is gorgeous! Happy hour tacos are the bomb. Loved the yam tacos!! “Spicy” foods are only moderately spicy.
Tiffany-Ashton Gatsby
I ate here for happy hour. Considering that there were food specials, it was pretty expensive. The food was ok, but I definitely won't go here for a happy hour deal... maybe I'll try dinner sometime.
Monica Sandoval
Great food and great service.
Syds Locksmith Adventures
1 of 3 dishes were tasty. Poor seasoning. Even for a lunch menu it was overpriced for what came. They charged extra for chips and salsa. Stale chips, bland salsas.
Matt Mead
I always want to really like this place but it never fully does it for me. They have solid cocktails but their food is hit or miss. Never had a problem with service
Anne Hepfer
They have excellent chips and salsa and chilaquiles. I love their guacamole too. The service is excellent. The only downside is it's a little echoey.
sanchit arora
Lovely place for some wonderful Mexican food. Good for a group or a nice couple date. Loved the spicy prawns!
admin dolan
This place is an awesome meet up spot prior to going clubbing on the hill. Fish tacos are amazing and the house margarita is delicious- not too sweet and not overpowering.
Ryan
Nice place in the middle of party central.
Descent food cool vibes
Steve Syverson
Excellent food! A little pricier than I would have preferred, but not exorbitant. Yam tacos were really good.
T H
Food was just ok, but our waitress was great.
Martin Zachry
For a place so far from Mexico this was a good place... flavor was the key, they weren't trying to sear my taste buds off because "that's Mexican food" but it wasn't very special either.
Corey Mellus
Amazing huevos Rancheros. Best flavours I’ve ever had!
Jacob Zerby
A little stingy to charge people for chips and salsa. Bar area is great year round. Prices are a little high for what they are. They are delicious nonetheless.
Justin Tran
Good food and friendly staff. They have a nice area for covid safe seating. Would come back.
Craig Reichel
Good food, albeit way too much cilantro on everything. Service was good. Our food was a bit of a wait but worth it.
