Reviews of Nuflours Bakery
Bre Khasky
It was hard to choose from the long list of options! Gf Rum Tiramisu, carrot cake, cupcakes, Raspberry 'Danish'.... Ultimately I decided on zucchini cardamom muffin and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Seattle.
I have celiac and so am very grateful for a certified gf bakery when I can find one

When I was in Seattle I tried the cinnamon rolls and brought them back for my family and they were amazing, especially for being gluten free. I recently ordered again and had them shipped across the US and they were not very good. Maybe it was the shipping (being in a hot truck for a few days) I’m not sure, but when I called they offered to send a new batch and see if there was any way they could expedite it. The food is great and the customer service is great too!

wow! yum! I just finished the gluten free mushroom gouda quiche and I'll post more once I try the dairy free lemon glazed gluten free donut the gluten-free salted caramel brownie, and the gluten free garlic parmesan bread!

I tried a zucchini cardamom muffin and it was the best gluten free muffin I’ve ever had! Delicious! Would highly recommend!

Most items were amazing but the docked star is definitely for the inedible oatmeal yo-yo. It had a terrible aftertaste so bad no one wanted to eat it and they both ended up in the trash. The spinach and cheese pie was the most incredible flaky crust I’ve ever had though! Needed more filling, the inside felt super skimpy (pictured). Tiramisu was great, doughnut was okay (too sweet), quiche was yummy and raspberry danish was the bomb! They do a fantastic job getting their crusts nice and flaky, which is really hard to find when it comes to gluten free baked goods.

I’ve been to Nuflour a handful of times over the years and their variety and quality has remained consistently good. While they have loaves and some savory items like quiche, they seem to specialize in sweets, or sweet muffins. I find the muffins best meet my needs when I’m in the mood for a less sweet doughnut, and their doughnuts best when I want something really sweet. The olive bread is second to none; very moist and lots of olives. My favorite item are the zucchini cardamom muffins.

Great tasting bread and pastries. In this place you can have a tasty toast with butter and jam and a good cup of coffee. They have a selection of 3 to 4 gluten free or vegan varieties of bread that they sell by the loaves.
The flax seed bread is very good. Bought some of this bread for home use which freezes and toast well. Yummy too with just butter!
Many other pastries, cookies, cakes gluten free , dairy free are available.
The service was great, attentive and friendly.
Local small bakery making baked goods from scratch. Support wholesome from scratch, labor intensive food!

This is my favorite GLUTEN FREE bakeries. I emphasize, because I think some of the reviewers who left negative reviews had unreasonable expectations. I do not remember what baked goods with gluten taste like anymore, so I can offer no comparison there.
In my experience, GF baked goods are usually dry. The sweet baked goods I've had here, however, were all moist and delicious (probably because they use butter). That said, they have some vegan options.
Also, it is a smaller space, so word of caution if you're trying to bring a 10 person study group.
Update: I ordered a carrot cake for my COVID wedding, and everyone LOVED it. My brother-in-law requested I bring one to future special events (when appropriate). Strong endorsements from 8 gluten eaters that this gluten free carrot cake was amazing.

Fantastic bakery with room to settle down and work (including WiFi). The various niche goods are a must try if you’re looking for a new baked goods experience. Highly recommend for someone wanting to venture to a new location in Capitol Hill. 4 stars because I would like to see more variety. 5 stars for taste. I had the dulche de leche cheesecake - fantastic texture, light on the palette with depth to flavor. The cheese portion was not overly heavy which is what you want in an ideal cheesecake. Bravo Nuflours!

I might have to visit again, maybe I visited on an off day. I was looking forward to the cinnamon roll for days only to be disappointed with the thick tough dough and skimpy frosting. I read the reviews that it was the best...I can't agree. Gluten free shouldn't mean overly thick tough base for quiche or the desert bars. For the price the baked goods should have been much better.
Elise Ruhlman
Dedicated GF bakery in a very inclusive and welcoming neighborhood. We enjoyed everything that we tried. Warm cinnamon rolls just out of the oven a must! Their cakes have a perfect texture and are tall- not rubbery or gummy in the slightest. Highly recommend!
Ciunea Mea
Everything we tried was super super delicious… stuff not too warm, but it’s always raining in Seattle so maybe that was the reason! We will check on their shipping options!
Best GF we ever tried

Had five different of their treats, with only one that missed
Oat/coconut yoyo. Avoid. Had zero of the two flavors it is supposed to have. Also an overall odd flavor. With that said, here are the others that warrant an overall 5 star rating.
Raspberry bar. 5 stars, amazing flavor and texture.
Cinnamon Roll. 4 stars. Almost perfect, but dry top and not quite enough icing to complement the wonderful and moist 'cinnamony' center.
Pumpkin Pecan muffin. 5 stars, phenomenal flavor and texture. Tasted and felt better than any muffin I've had, possibly in my life.
Lemon donut. 5 stars. Also very tasty with a nice crumbly texture, without being dry.
Service was very friendly and they have masks available, as it is still required.

Nuflour was a super good and adorable bakery! It being gluten free was a cherry on top. I had a cinnamon roll, it was a little dry, but it was very delicious!
Hollis Hamilton
Delicious gluten free treats! I love their raspberry Danish. Stopped in today for a cinnamon roll and hot tea, and my partner had a slice of tiramisu and some coffee. Great texture to the cinnamon roll, nice and gooey in the middle. Tiramisu was moist and not too sweet.
Jacqueline Kassis
This is probably one of the best dietary restrictions bakery’s they got GF, egg and dairy free options
Brandon Rouge
Incredible gluten free bakery with some great vegan options. Loved the vegan raspberry jam tart, excited to come back and try their other treats!
Alexa Townsend
Great bakery for gluten-free treats with super cute decor.
The staff was very helpful, and the snacks were delicious.
Limited seating - only a few small tables and bar seating.

I was visiting Seattle from out of town and stopped by this bakery. It was a 10/10 experience! I had the zucchini cardamom muffin (picture) and the lemon square. Both were absolutely delicious!! Definitely one of the best muffins I have ever had. I couldn’t believe it was gluten free!
Shane Cosgrove
Great range of gluten free products. Pretty expensive compared to some of the options in Pike Place Market for gluten free.
Forrest Chevaillier
This is one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to! Will definitely be back!
Fateh-Karan Chohan
Wow, just wow. Visited from Canada in May and hands down the best gluten free tiramisu I have ever had in my life. I still crave it to now. Amazing service as well!
Christina Bradic
Nuflours has amazing baked goods – it's they rare gem of a bakery where you don't tell people it is gluten free and they won't know. Beyond this, today I discovered their wonderful customer service. While interactions have always been pleasant, today when I needed to order a cake they were beyond helpful. Rachel took my call, followed up by email, and made sure I had what I needed, even though my order was last minute. She gave me options that they could work with and made the whole experience fantastic. I love supporting this small business.

My husband is allergic to both gluten and dairy, so while we visited Seattle I made a special trip here for baked goods for him. I got him muffins, a chocolate chip cookie and two donuts that I was told were both GF and DF … yet they all weren’t :(. He reacted immediately. It was NOT good.
If you’re going to have diary free items they should truly be dairy free and I assure you given that it was all he ate before the reaction, it was definitely these baked goods. Terrible.
Bottom Line - If you have allergies be aware and quite frankly, don’t go here.
Update Mid-Sept 2021: The owner Phebe did listen to my concerns (corresponded via email) and went to great lengths to isolate the original issue, as well as change handling practices within the bakery to avoid/minimize cross-contamination. It doesn’t change what happened to my husband, but it definitely showed she’s committed to creating as safe and environment as possible and that I can both respect and appreciate.
Stephanie Brady
Delicious! Bought several items including the chocolate chip cookie, brownie, iced brownie, cake doughnut, zucchini muffin and raspberry streusel bar and loved every one of them! So great to have safe options for those with diet restrictions. I will be ordering online soon
Andrew L
Smells as good as it tastes. The staff are wonderful and made me feel welcomed—I’ll gladly make the trek here again. Especially since I can eat everything!
They even have donuts!
June Tozzi
Has more than pastries. Had the Lemon vanilla donut and chocolate cupcake with blood orange icing. The cupcake was amazing and the icing superb, the donut has a little bit of grainy texture but very enjoyable flavor. Definitely a place to check out. This and Wildflour are my two favorite bakeries/
Michael U
This bakery is flat out fantastic! The staff are always cheerful, but not annoyingly so, consistently knowledgeable and helpful. The items from their bakery and superior. I have yet to try anything they bake that is not exceptional. Their chocolates taste of chocolate rather than only of sugar. Likewise the goods which contain fruit taste of the fruits they contain, rather than just being sweet. The breads are fantastic. I agree with an earlier reviewer, finally a gluten free bread which tastes like bread. It is this place, among the small treasures in this neighborhood that make me so grateful I love in this vibrant, socially engaged neighborhood.
Jennifer Ross
I love shops where everything is gluten-free so I don't have to sadly pass over all the things I wish I could eat. It's wonderful to go and look in the case at Nuflours and know that I can take it all home with me, though I shouldn't! I absolutely recommend their cinnamon rolls. They're really great when warmed up just a little bit. I don't think I'll ever find the gluten-free, doughy, squishy cinnamon roll of my dreams, but this is a great substitute and keeps me from wanting to "just have a bit of gluten"... and then regret it. I've gone back for the cinnamon rolls a few times whenever I'm craving something I really shouldn't eat. I had some of their cookies at Christmas and they were delicious too. They also have breads in addition to sweets, which I haven't gotten to try yet but I definitely plan to get back there soon!
Alicia Aranyi
I just ate there and got a bit of a couple of things and I highly recommend checking this place out and ordering their cinnamon rolls followed by their raspberry danish. My dad enjoyed everything he had as well and thinks it’s a bit out of the way but worth the drive. The person who was there was friendly and helpful.
Patricia Bercovich
Dedicated gluten-free and celiac safe. Delicious quiches! We tried several things and the bacon potato quiche was the clear winner. The savory items were all a little on the salty side. The vegan chocolate mini cake was rich and tasty. I found the zucchini cardamom muffins a little sweet and not spiced quite enough. The spinach pocket was okay, according to my husband, but mostly tasted of green onion. Staff was friendly and service was great.
Alyx Haestrom
I'm not gluten intolerant but my best friend is. Very good baked goods. Delicious chocolate eclairs and lemon bars. Also good coldbrew coffee. Their flower is made from potato, sorghum and 2 others i can't remember.
Corey H
ALL GLUTEN FREE! How great to find a place with gluten free options. My wife doesn't eat gluten so I came here to find her a birthday treat. A slice of the raspberry cheesecake ($6.50) was the perfect thing.
The cashier was so pleasant and polite. The woman ahead of me was ordering some cakes for her daughter's birthday and again the cashier was great and detailed getting everything right for the special order.
Only downside is the price ($53 for a medium cake) but I guess that's expected for a specialty bakery.
Carleigh Vollbrecht
The cheesecake has gluten free graham cracker crust, and there is graham cracker crust bagged for purchase to take home and make your own. Ate a brownie and apple crisp bar too, both were divine, nothing tasted gluten free, it all just tasted really good. The cafe is inviting and the staff is friendly.
Autum
I expected more savory food here, not just pastries and warmed sandwiches. But there was something nice about the simple vibe here that made me feel like I was in a small town cafe from the 90's, but gluten free! The girl working the counter the morning I came in was really nice yet to the point and had a spunky and classic style that I adored. It felt comfortable here. A lot of times cafes, especially ones that boast their so-called "fad diet" options, are trying way too hard to make you feel impressed and this place was like a hidden gem. Delicious food without a glamorous front. I loved it!
Karen Conley
Finally! Gluten-free baked goods that taste great. Give them a try (especially the brownies).
Croweykid M
Awesome treats at surprisingly reasonable prices, by Seattle standards. An excellent GF/DF resource in the community peopled by pleasant staff, using healthy ingredients. Really glad we have this. Let's keep it open! Nuflours Fremont already went out of business due to Covid; this is the last (and best) bastion of quality gf pastries in Seattle proper and I'm so glad we still have them because they're the best I've found on the West Coast.
Their handpies and quiches are especially extraordinary. There are a few little tables outside in front where you can sit, and a few inside.
Richard Vialva
Delicious!!!! So different from the typical gluten free cardboard taste. I don't have a gluten intolerance but would say Nuflours is one of the very best bakeries in Seattle. I always recommend to friends and family
Sarah Dowling
had my birthday cake from Nuflours and it was maybe the best GF cake i've every had (: highly recommend for Celiac/GF people!! so good!
Chanteé Hale
If I could give this gluten free bakery 10 stars, I would. The flavors and textures are so amazing we kept coming back for more. I highly recommend their feta spinach pie, Danish, and their tiramisu
Naomi Stanley
We got our daughters 16th Birthday cake here and it was amazing. It was dairy free and gluten free. It was a lemon cake with blackberry filling. Even my husband really enjoyed the cake and he rarely will even try anything gf or DF. He is a chef by trade and he was impressed too. This bakery is worth a try, you won’t be disappointed. It’s pricy but well worth it.
Nicholas
I got a gluten free eclair and some cupcakes for my bday. Yum!
Mark Mutti
As others here have mentioned, the baked good are unreal! I love that they’ve put their own spin on many of the items (like the Cardamom Muffin)
Sandy Cheng
Always excellent service! Have ordered non-gluten cakes there for family celebrations for a number of years. They need a full 72 hours advance notice to order a cake & have sheets, rounds, & tiered cakes with all different flavors & fillings to choose from & different kinds of icing & colors to customize your order. I have always been pleased with the results. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it. Their pastries are to die for! They also have different quiches. There is street parking in front & around the block. They also have a small seating area where you can sit & enjoy your treat & something to drink. They are located on 15th Ave E on Capitol Hill, a few of blocks North of Kaiser Permanente. They are closed on Monday.

2019 Update:
I still absolutely love Nuflours and what they are all about. I do not get to visit their store front nearly as often as I would like due to living three hours away, but I try to visit as much as I can when I am in the Seattle area. In September though I was able to visit Seattle and attend the Nourished Festival, and one of the main reasons I purchased tickets was because I saw Nuflours was going to have their own booth. When I was there I got to try their dairy-free banana coconut muffin and it was delicious. I wish I had bought more than two as they were delicious. While at the Nourished Festival I also learned that they will be opening an online store soon, and that they have some wholesale products available for stores to sell. I contacted my local Natural Food Store and suggested that they carry items from Nuflours as I would love to be able to purchase products locally. I think it would also benefit my community, especially the individuals who have to eat gluten-free for health reasons. I hope I will start seeing Nuflour products for purchase at my local stores in the future.
*Thank you Nuflours for everything you do! You provide those who live in Washington with delicious quality baked items. I am thankful for businesses like yours as living with Celiac Disease is difficult, and it’s made even more difficult when living in a small town, but every time I get to visit your store I am beyond happy to see places catering to those who need or want to eat gluten-free.
2018 Experience:
I was so excited when I walked in as everything is Gluten free. I have Celiac Disease and it’s hard to find anything that I can have especially when it comes to bakery style items. I was so happy to pick out a couple items as I live 3 hours away and was in town for a colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled for the next morning. Everything looked delicious and the presentation of the items was easy to look at and I liked that the tag in front of each item said if something was vegan, dairy-free, contained nuts or not and so on. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient.
Ethan Maiden
It's nice to have a few choices of stuff that is gluten free. I haven't gotten anything aside from baked goods, but the texture and consistency is just ok. I came back after not having this place for a few years and was underwhelmed. The staff is friendly and that's all fine. It's just ok
Margaret K
Brownies and Danishes are out of this world, but other items can be hit or miss.
Kristin
Amazing! My 5 year old and I had a special trip to Seattle with the goal of trying out a few dedicated GF places. Nuflour was worth making the trip. My daughter has celiac disease and doesn't get to have treats outside of home. It was so great to see her eyes light up at all the goodies and to feel safe letting her pick anything she wanted! I have been eating GF for 15 years and have not found bakery treats that come close to the goodness we found there. The raspberry danish was amazing! We took home a bag off goodies to freeze for later. We will definitely be making the long drive again for the next special occasion. We'd be in trouble if we lived nearby, because we'd be there every week!
Aaron Hardy
The staff is an amazing lifesaver! As a typical guy, I waited until literally the day before my wife's birthday to find her cake. I tried calling 2 other gluten free bakeries attempting to have a cake made on short order. Nuflour staff were extremely polite and professional. They even let me text them a picture of exactly what i needed and made it happen! Keeping me out of the dog house.
Laura Avery
LOVE this place! Absolutely delicious snacks. They made my wedding cake and all the guests said they never would have guessed it was gluten-free. Plus, the people here are super friendly and helpful.
Kelsey Wagner
This is my favorite gluten free bakery in Seattle! They always experiment with fun flavor combinations that you don't find most places and the fudge brownie may be the best brownie I have ever had. Seriously.
Katherine Chase
I've been gluten-free since before it was cool and have tried basically all the GF products as they've come on the market over the last 15 years. NuFlours is, hands down, the best I've ever tried. And their food isn't just the best gluten-free, it stands on its own. I dare anyone to make a Carrot Cake or Tiramisu, even with wheat, that rivals theirs. Kudos.
Ivy O'Neill
Satisfied customer here! :) Its so hard to find an all gluten free bakery. Yummy food, decent amount of options. I drove over an hour to get here and I'd do it again!
Iridius Izzarne
The cake made for a birthday of two friends was so delicious. Moist, great flavor and decadent. Really like the strawberry lemon flavor combination. Definitely will order from again.
Christina Kam
Nuflours bakery was really tasty, I had a salted caramel brownie which was very rich. Side note: next time I would order a drink to go with it! But the place itself was very aesthetic and quiet.
Kat V.
I have no idea how they make gluten free stuff taste so good. My bf and I have to avoid gluten, dairy, and soy so this is our go-to place for our birthday cakes lol. You guys rock!
Cilzcontact Moreno
Delicious Vegan and GF treats.
Celiac Safe.
Dedicated facility when I went ( hopefully the menu remains GF and the practices.)
Rick Fernandez
Drive from Renton to come here - it was well worth the drive! The people are so nice and the goodies were delicious! It's awesome to finally find a place that's dedicated to gluten free ♥
Aida Crystal Rodriguez Soto
Best place on earth. Everything is Gluten Free. They have a lot of vegan options. The sandwiches r so amazing.
They have cakes and cool bakery.
Hai Evans
Great gluten-free options. My 6 year old who has celiac disease loves the gf blueberry muffins. The staff are always the sweetest people. Thank you!
Kelly Suttell
This bakery satisfies a GF-girl's sweet tooth or savory craving. They have vegan options, paleo options, take-away breads, and so much more. No grittiness, just honest, good treats.
Thank you, NuFlours! 💜
Ellie V
Gluten free baked goods. I have a lot of friends who need gluten free and when they come here they cry because it is so nice to be able to eat food that doesn't make them sick! I'm not gluten free but I love this food too
destination360
vegan pastries! Gluten free bread, pizza dough, pie crust, and much more Umm Umm! A bit pricey but not many people making this good stuff. Lemon Bar corner $4.95
Andrea S
Lightest, fluffiest tiramisu. Not too sweet and 100% satisfyingly scrumptious. Brownies are also off the hook. Too bad I know about this place. I'm about to get fat... Gluten free heaven.
irene glispy
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful cake you made for my daughters birthday. Even the combination lavender frosting and pumpkin filling with the vanilla cake was perfect. Everybody loved it.
joe mc8488
Notice… this is not an exaggeration. The Raspberry bars and Apple bars at Nuflours are unbelievable! I am not gluten intolerant but I would walk from Newcastle to Capital Hill for these! A must try!
Bryan Mitchiner
Your brownies are definitely 5 stars! (oh no! The original review was not intended! I was testing a new Google Maps feature and rated dozens of places in a matter of minutes to get through the onerous process. I'm sorry!
Halee Sexton
Love it here! Everything I've tried has been delicious, but their garlic parmesan loaves are my favorite. They even pre-slice them for you! Cute place and friendly staff :)
Tom Bristol
Above the bar bakery that happens to be gluten free. Perfect pit stop for a tiara misu craving or lemon bar moment. French pastries with celiac sensibilities.
sabrina reyes-peters
I always love going to NuFlours. They made a v delicious birthday cake for my partner (who doesn't need to eat gf and is picky), exactly to order (DF & soy-free as well), and he loved it!
Adrienne Kerrigan
Best gluten free bakery in Seattle! Their dedicated kitchen is very safe and clean. Try the tiramisu.
Sean Aikin
Pretty much the best gf (and just about any other allergen you might have can be catered to) bakery there is. If I lived closer, I would go here everyday and it would be GLORIOUS.
Mike (Big Mike)
Good selection of sweets. Sandwiches are a tad pricy for what they were. But all in all a nice place. Salted caramel brownie was delicious
Michael Tovaraz
All baked items are gluten free, some are dairy free as well. Great flavors, nice and friendly workers.
Taylor D
It's hard to find good gluten free things but Nuflours never disappoints. Good selection and amazing product for those with dietary restrictions
