Reviews of Matt's in the Market
FriedChicken
One of the best dinning option in public market. This restaurant is on the 3rd floor and all the tourists spot is at the ground level, so the wait is not as extreme as others.
Great flavor combinations from their simple lunch menu. Most people I saw gets some kind of of sandwiches as a main entree but my tuna rice bowl is delicious. The tuna ( lightly seared), pickles combination goes well with the white rice 😋

Solid dinner at Matt's. Service was friendly and efficient too. A fun setting upstairs, half a block from the market. The space is up two flights of stairs .
The greens salad had blue cheese and pumpkin seeds teriffic. The fish stew, their specialty, was quite delicious. Desserts quite good also
A fun chill vibe.
Oh, they have no regular soda products, nor diet soda...

Still great after all these years! The deviled eggs are so delicious 😋 and I still order the tuna sandwich even though there are no bad choices in the menu. Life is good when you’ve got a window table at Matt’s and you’re enjoying tasty food with good friends above the hustle and bustle of Historic Pike Place Market! ❤️ …

For first timers, the restaurant is hard to find. If you're walking towards the large market signage, walk halfway on the street, make a right, up the stairs and Mike's is at the top.
I went for lunch, solo, didn't have a reservation and got there right before they opened. Many in front of me did have reservations. I asked if they had a bar that served food and the server happily and promptly led me to the bar, even pointing out that there were hooks on the bar where I could hang my bag and market goodies.
From each table and the bar, customers can see the kitchen prepare food and present the plates to the servers to deliver to the table.
The bartender, Jeremy, was personable and attentive. He handed me a menu, recommended a drink and explained their lunch special. Even though it was very busy and it seemed as if every table were ordering drinks, he was attentive but also gave me my space.
I ordered the drink called That's What She Wrote and an orange juice based mimosa. To eat, I ordered the scallop special. Lunch was delicious and I would return again!
It is a bit pricey. I spent a little under $100 (including tip) for lunch. But it's worth it for the top views of the market, the service and the experience!
Would recommend for locals and visitors. I probably would not bring children but I did see a baby and a few children.

Right smack in the heart of Seattle and Pike’s Place Market is a gem of an eatery with an incredibly view, a fantastic menu and warm staff waiting on your every culinary desire. The warm eatery has a good view of the market and almost of the Sound but for the building block. Portions are good sized, food is fresh and priced well.

Great place for hearty sandwiches and interesting flavor combinations. I come here for dishes I love with a different kind of zing to them.
Service is friendly and attentive while still being relaxed. I try to come a little earlier than the usual meal time rushes because this place does get crowded. Reservations might be a good idea if you have more than a party of 2.

Fantastic experience. Staff were pleasant and the food was excellent. I shared the charcuterie board (which was phenomenal) and had the king salmon as my main. Overall it was very fresh and would definitely come back if I have another chance!

I tried this restaurant while visiting Seattle. I was seated at the bar and a Jeremy was the bartender. He was very friendly and super nice, I asked about wine and he suggested me a very good one!
I had their Large cheese board which was AMAZING! I’m a cheese lover and they see me a good selection of great quality cheese, I also had their Grilled Spanish Octopus, it was perfectly cooked and it tasted very fresh and it was delicious, most of the time when I get octopus at other locations it’s super chewy and hard to eat but the one in this location is just perfect! It’s a little pricey but worth the taste and quality of the food! Vaxxed cards are required prior entering the restaurant.
I was lucky I got here right when they were opening and it was just me, if you have company and prefer a table, then I’d recommend to call ahead of time to make a reservation. I’ll definitely come back again when Jeremy is working again!! He made my solo date better lol

A regular stop a few times a year. As always super impressed. Cocktails and lunch are some of the best among plenty of options nearby. Menu changes so frequently, but we had a fried catfish & corn beef philly sandwich with salad and broccoli soup which was the best soup I have had this year.

Great, kind of off the beaten path place. Overlooks Pikes Place market with a really interesting menu. I have the porkstrami sandwich and it was really freaking good. My son had the lamb burger and he loved it. They sat us quickly on a Sunday lunch time without a reservation and the service was great. Would definitely go back if in Seattle again.
