Katsu burger is the place to go when you want something different from your regular burger experience. Or if you simply like their style of burgers, I'm in that group of people. The burgers are humongous, and usually have a breaded patty with either chicken, pork, beef or tofu. I love the slaw in their burgers. This Ballard location is one of my favorites, it is spacious yet, clean and quiet. And it's the closest to my home. So I can either dine in or take out, it's great either way. If you just want a cheap burger fix this is not it, but if you value quality and experience, give this one a try.

So! Good! Famous for their burgers and we tried the ninja deluxe and it did not disappoint. Sushi is the last samurai and all I can say is wow! So glad we chose lunch here. Random place was a good choice! I cannot stress enough how amazing the burger was. If you are looking for something new to try...I 100% recommend katsu bruger and sushi and try the ninja deluxe.

The burgers were giant and very tasty! The wasabi mayo on the Samurai Select was intense, but so good. The beef katsu and Tonkatsu sauce went well with the pineapple too. You can sub any meat (beef, pork, chicken, tofu) on the menu. I completely forgot about that and wish I had looked at other options. Maybe the menu could say the things it includes + “your choice of protein,” and list a recommended protein choice per item, if any.

Pretty fancy compared to the other locations. Love dining in under the cherry blossom tree. Clean. Quick food and delish. Opens late enough. Curry fries and simple beef katsu slider are favs all day!

If you are vegetarian, or even just a tofu-lover, look no further for the best burgers in Seattle. All of the patties can be easily substituted with a slab of delicious deep-fried tofu and pairs well with a side of curry fries + curry sauce. I’ve only been in Seattle for a few weeks and I’ve already gone three times! (would go every day if I could)

The bento boxes are a great deal and everything tastes amazing. The katsu bites are always tasty and the fries always fresh. 💯 recommended!

A wonderful gem tucked away in a little corner by the library! I got the original and it was a deliciously crunchy and flavorful katsu burger stacked probably 8 inches tall or so. It's a bit hard to get everything in one bite but thankfully the burger is held together by a skewer. Fantastic prices too, about $10-15 range which is extremely affordable compared to the average costs here in Ballard ($15-20). The staff was very kind too - they greeted us when we walked in, and thanked us when we left! Another thing that surprised me was how much I loved the vibes here, which I don't usually note or really pay attention to. But this place is really nice for hanging out and having a good conversation. Lovely, clean interior decoration and lighting, and perfect background music (a relaxing good vibes playlist at the perfect volume so you can easily have conversations across your table but not awkward silences). They even have Crunchyroll anime with subtitles playing on a TV if you wanted to watch! Far more interesting than sports imo. I also appreciate that there's plenty of tables spaced comfortably apart, and they have thoughtful touches like napkin dispensers and ketchup at each table. Generally just well thought out! Would definitely return when I'm craving unique fusion cuisine.

Pork ninja deluxe: buns were sadly under toasted. Tonkatsu sauce tasted like barbecue sauce (!); too much of it. Overly sweet. Underly savory. Otherwise OK.

Great place!! I went to the federal location and thought it was ok. We were having a family day and my husband hasn’t tried it so we decided to stop here. First off, there is a kids play room! Extra star for that! It’s very hard to bring our son (who is 16 months) our eating cause he doesn’t sit still very well. Their room is great! And there’s tables in there so we can sit and enjoy our food and drinks while our son got to play! The pineapple cider is amazing! Must try! My husband tried the Ohayou burger and it was monsterous! He said it was really good! The federal way location didn’t have a sushi menu but this one did! I was very excited! I had the Seattle roll, yellowtail, and pacific roll. So yummy! The fried chicken on the kids menu was a little harder than I would of liked for my soon but we just pulled it apart into smaller pieces for him.

One of my favorite places to get a burger in Seattle! The burgers are huge and if you haven’t ate katsu burger before it’s exactly like katsu chicken but it’s a change of meat. The burgers have the amazing katsu sauce. The fries were the favorite. I could pass on the Japanese Mayo, tasted like Mayo for me which didn’t go that well with the fries. The service was pretty slow.

Delicious Japanese food! They have a unique take on East/West combinations, sure to please any craving. The fish was very fresh. I had the Sumo Bento box and my husband had the Mount Fuji burger. This "burger" is HUGE!!! It's a pork katsu, chicken katsu, Wagyu beef patty, and a fried egg brought together as one giant burger with all the fixin's. We're still mourning the loss of Skillet at this location in Ballard, but it's nice knowing we can drown our sorrows in spicy mayo and fried pork.

The katsuburgers are okay. The five stars are for the service and decorations. Lots of seating inside and out. If you sit towards the back wall, the greenery out the window is really nice.

Absolutely love these burgers. Definitely a new guilty pleasure of ours. The wabi wasabi and the ohayo gozaimasu are two of our favorites especially when paired with curry fries and wasabi mayo. Great outdoor seating with heaters, a few tasty beers and a little liquor make for an enjoyable meal. Nice combos and plenty of options. Give it a shot... you won’t be sorry.

Great food. I got the Katsu Curry burger and it was awesome. The curry flavor itself was a little light to be honest but it was a great overall burger and I will definitely be back. The onion, pickle and lettuce all combined really well with the crispy katsu pork. The curry fries were really good as well!

Katsu Burger had been open for a while but this was our first trip and it didn't disappoint. You might think, burgers and sushi? And I say, hell yeah! Kicked it off with a couple rolls followed by a burger -- perfect. The katsu burger was delicious and the cabbage in lieu of lettuce was a great touch. The sushi rolls were tasty too. Tip: if you get fries, try a couple of the dipping sauces. All around, a great burger spot with something unique...and if you can't decide between sushi or burgers for dinner, this is your spot!

The kitchen closes before 9PM. I understand it sucks having folks come in right before close as I’ve worked in restaurants. However, closing the kitchen at 8:42PM is also not cool when people drive from far away. If you close your kitchen early, maybe set earlier hours on Google and your website since that’s when the kitchen closes and the societal norm is that closing time means kitchen closing. Aside from this, food and service is good and have had good experiences each time.

This is a surprisingly delicious take on a Japanese staple food! If you like chicken katsu I highly recommend the sandwich. Only thing I was disappointed in was the sushi was standard, for me it was too expensive to justify the taste compared to other places I've been in this area. Then again if you're going here for the sushi you're doing it wrong. I recommend the coleslaw which has a nice subtle wasabi heat to it.

Katsu Burger is in the same location where Skillet Ballard used to be, and looks almost exactly the same inside & out. They are putting up some murals so that may change, but the overall layout is identical. Its large south-facing windows make it a nice spot for warming up in the winter. Tasty crispy burgers and sushi, though it was a bit expensive for the amount of sushi. Quick and friendly service as well.

Loved the salmon sushi, the seaweed salad and my friend got massive salmon Kats burger that was very well prepared with delicious fries with nori. On top of that, after hearing that my friend had hee birthday today, to thank her for coming for her birthday, they gave her a magnificent ice cream sunday! What a treat! Great seevice, they were able to tell me the ingredients in evrything, will come back for sure!

This IS a tasty burger. This burger is also going to have a great and interesting flavor to it, and it will surprise you. The katsu burger patty alone is pretty amazing (if you've had katsu style stuff before, it's on par). The wasabi burger was a great flavor and not overpowered on wasabi. A great flavor through and through. The pictured burger is the Godzilla attacks burger, and I had the jalapeno on the side. It's good that I did that since that burger is spicy enough, but it is tasty to toss a few on the area you're going eat to get a jump in heat. The tea here is great, they have Jones Soda on tap, a large sauce choice... It's so good!

Really like it here. The place has like endless seating, a super chill and cozy space, and the service was really good. Food was perfect and neither of us could finish because the portions were so big. It’s a block off the busier Ballard strip so the noise level is low and the outdoor patio seating is nice. Would recommend! I see some people mentioning how they liked the place until they switched to counter service but I find it similar to most burger restaurants in Ballard and Seattle in general. We went for lunch and found it quick and easy to order. Go for a cozy, casual bite and if you’re looking for a more full service experience, this isn’t the place.

Interesting fusion of Japanese and American cuisine. The burgers are ludicrously tall, but the bun is solid enough to handle it. Flavor is good but the burger I had could stand to be a bit more in your face. Skip the milkshakes, but do order the fries with curry powder on them. Not spicy, just delicious.

Aesthetically, the food is beautiful. We ordered the Ichiban bento box and the Volcano roll. I love how it came out with a mini fire. For the taste, it’s amazing as well. The food here is reasonably price and service is great. For the space, it is quite spacious. They even have a full bar here. We came here on a Tuesday night and it was quite empty. I forgot to take the pictures of the interior. There are ample street parking around the restaurant as well.

TLDR: fancy burger and sushi joint! Whoa! Super fancy feel for a burger joint. There's a full bar and they serve sushi along with Japanese apps aside from their famous burgers. Very open atmosphere with pop music echoing around. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This place looks too fancy to be serving burgers! It's definitely a place you wanna go with friends to eat, sit, and chat. Menu is pretty simple and straightforward. There are so many things to try! Bento boxes are very filling! Street parking only. If your meal comes with fries, you have a choice of Nori Fries, Sea Salt Fries or 12 Spice Fries. You also have a choice of various dipping sauces. Service: friendly staff. wait to be seated, order at your table, you will be watered, check brought to you. I'm a big fan of tapas and this place has got the perfect bento boxes that contain those small bites you've been craving! Ichiban Bento: the Nori Fries are to die for. I like those little seaweed flakes--best when paired with honey miso dipping sauce! The burger itself isn't too novel tasting, literally your typical burger but the patty is breaded. Salad is spring mix tossed with a lightly sweet and sour dressing. California roll isn't too much to rave about but is a nice addition. I love the tiny plate of pickled veggies. The nigiri sushi tasted fresh and I like how they dab the rice with wasabi before topping it with the fish. I've had their burgers at the original Katsu Burger joints and believe me, they are coma-inducing! Giant and very filling burgers--especially with those delicious fries!

Katsu Burger has incredibly tasty food and a friendly staff. My tongue has been absolutely delighted with each of the burgers that I have ordered. It has become almost a weekly craving. And don't get me started on the sauces 👼🤯

For us, it was great with a unique combination of food options, all of which are really good. The best for us is the "kid room" in the back with books, toys, and at least a handful of tables where our 4 year old can hang out. Order at the front. Food came out pretty quick. We will go back.

Very tasty burgers if you have an adventurous spirit. The milkshakes are very original and delicious. The only downside for me are the fries: they can be pretty dry, but the spices and dipping sauces help.

Don’t let the counter ordering make you think the food isn’t top notch. We have had two excellent meals here now. Very fresh Sashimi, yummy Katsu Burgers, Spicy Fries, hot Udon. Not to mention the delicious saki collection with Jones sodas! Great place for families.

I'm not sure if I came on an off day, but I'm disappointed in my meal. We were the only people in the restaurant (2 of us) on a weekday. Service was friendly and helpful, but the food was mediocre. I ordered a burger (with a pork katsu patty) and fries. The fries were cold as soon as we got them to our table. The bun on the burger was cold, slightly stale, and untoasted. I really wish a bit more effort had been put into the food.

Great to see Katsu Burger branching from a tight burger joint to a full on restaurant with expanded menu. The burgers are what you'd expect from Katsu. Choice of various beef, pork, tofu, and other proteins, combined with Japanese fusion flavors. Tokyo Classic is a good stable. The curry burger doesn't overpower. And Wabi Wasabi has a trailing kick that makes it fun. The fries are a must have. It's hard to pick between Nori, Curry, and 12 Spices. Maybe get them all. And try the various dipping sauces. The meals come in full burger or a slider, which is a smaller burger. Happy hour has the slider meals on discount. Service is always friendly. In the beginning, the kitchen would make mistakes. But they're always corrected once brought to attention. I'd expect this to get better as time goes on. Happy to see something more unique coming to Ballard. Looking forward to frequent this restaurant!

Kind of disappointed - because of the price, we had higher expectations. The sashimi appetizers were excellent as were the shochu drinks. But the katsu burger was lacking and covered in too much sauce - you couldn’t appreciate the katsu itself. Also, the price is a bit steep for a burger. The floors were unclean as well at our table. We’ll be back to try it again, hopefully we’ll see an improvement.

Delicious! The fish was fresh, and the bento box was exactly what I wanted. You can choose from several bento boxes, too. I had the Sumo Bento because I was more in the mood for sushi than an East/West combo. My husband had the Mount Fuji burger... It's HUGE!!! Pork katsu, chicken katsu, Wagyu beef patty, plus a fried egg- all on one burger! We're that still sad Skillet is gone, but we're happy that Katsu Burger is here and serving yummy Japanese food.

If you haven't had it's a must try. Most of the locations have the burger menu but if you head to the Ballard Katsu then you have a full Sushi menu on top of the Katsu menu including bento boxes that have Sushi and a large slider. They have also just added a kids playroom to that location which is a God send for any parent with young kids.

Nice sit down location. Full bar, plus several more menu items that look rather enticing, including sushi and bento boxes. The burgers are wonderful no loss in quality from the other locations. The Jones fountain is behind the bar, but they don't charge for refills. Its going to be hard to lose weight this summer with the new location within walking distance.

We’re huge fans of the Factoria location, so the crazy high prices, strictly sit-down style and lack of good lunch options was a bummer. We used to go to that location all the time but there’s no way we’d be able to do that here. I just don’t understand why you’d take a deep fried burger with fries and price/serve it like fancy Italian :(

French fries + Wasabi mayo + sushi + sake = 😍 We went for the soft opening having never been to Katsu. I thought the fries were good although I'm not big into them generally. Adding sushi to the mix was an interesting twist. We will definitely be back to try the bento box with a slider, nigiri, roll, fries and salad!
