Reviews of Blue Star Cafe & Pub

One of our go to places for breakfast. Our first time visiting we tried the giant cinnamon roll, and boy were we surprised by the size! We only ate a third of it and took the rest home. It warmed up great! The bacon cheddar waffle is delicious, definitely a must try! My boyfriend and I share the breakfast combo and “just eggs” plate. Their grilled onion red potatoes are also great and don’t get me started on their pancakes. They almost taste like they have a light sugar coating. Either way they are always cooked to perfection! Also make sure to try the orange juice! It’s a bit on the sweet side. Highly recommend this place!

Delicious brunch and prompt service. Our party of 7 was seated quickly on a holiday Monday. Coffee's and waters were kept topped up throughout our dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their well portioned meal,
Older building full of character. Plenty of parking around the nearby side streets.

TL;DR: Blue Star is a solid middle of the road diner.
Blue Star is a bit of a roller coaster. Some food is great, some food is terrible. Some servers are great, some should avoid food service jobs. The place can be ridiculously cramped on a busy day, there's no seating for large groups, and no reservations are allowed. With a lack of parking and inconsistent food quality it's tough to love Blue Star.
On the upside, the portions of most diner specialties are large and well-made. Usually. Quality is inconsistent, though, and the same dish can come out poorly prepared for one person at the table but fine for someone else. Certain kitchen choices like raisins in the cinnamon rolls or low quality chunk salmon on the Benedicts have made friends and I question the taste level of the chefs. (YMMV, but our table's collective response was "ugh.")
It's a cramped, busy diner. Pretty classic Americana at its core, with large portions and average prices for a city restaurant.

Overall pretty great food. Good breakfast place! My friend said her french toast was a little dry but idk. The other said her waffle was crispy, idk if that was good or bad. My food was pretty yummy. Server was kind. Good water.
Wendy Tan
We came after the walk from Greenlake. First time here. We shared the french toasts and avocado toasts. Food was delicious. Definitely will come back to try other dishes and Happy Hour.
Sawyer Hanners
Their gian cinnamon roll is really GIANT. Delicious food. I had the loaded steak dip. Reasonably priced as well. Their staff were kind and quick. Cute pub setting.
Michael DeGraw
We dined in on the recommendation of a friend while visiting Seattle. The staff was very sweet and kind although a bit disorganized at times. But it didn’t effect service or the food which took longer to arrive than expected considering it wasn’t busy. Could be a staffing issue due to COVID at this time but regardless… it was THE BEST BRUNCH I’ve had in a long time. We loved both our dishes and so often when I order soft scrambled eggs I get… hard scrambled but it fine usually. But I got my eggs just right as we’re the soft fried on my partners toast! The waffle was awesome and the bacon thin and crispy. Real OJ! I’m a fan of “institution” style places and diners and I was very pleased.

Service was nice, food was extremely tasty and they even had multiple types of hot sauces! The coffee was delicious and the while it was busy the wait wasn’t that long. The breakfast shots were good and ultimately the prices were pretty reasonable!
Shawna Isidore
I CANNOT tell you how full and satisfied I am! The food and fruits were not only fresh, but so was the mimosa! The press fresh oranges and they get the mimosa ratio more than perfect. My partner and I both ordered the breakfast combo andd shared pancakes and French toast. Their menu is gargantuan though, so I will have to come back to try more. But I don't know! I just loved what I ordered so much. I bet the whole menu makes people feel like this lol.

Average atmosphere, average food, and underwhelming service make this an average, unmemorable place to visit. I did enjoy the crispiness of the fries, and I appreciate that they have trivia night, but it was difficult to hear the trivia host and there was a lack of social energy during the event. This isn't a bad place to go, but it's overshadowed by a multitude of better places that are within reach.
Nick Spencer
Great service! Good was on point!
Wish I would of gotten cheaper cheese on omelet but was so delicious!
Patrick Nickell
I don't say this lightly, I just ate the best chicken fried steak of my life. You can tell it's not frozen and then fried, even though I would totally understand if it was, but it wasn't. Flakey and perfectly seasoned crust and topped with an insanely amazing sausage gravy. I will be eating this as often as possible. Also don't sleep on the amazing biscuit and the scratch jam. Fresh squeezed orange juice was the proverbial icing on the cake. Amazing customer service as well. Please support phenomenal small and local eateries like Blue Star.

This is a slept on BOMB breakfast spot!! Food was AMAZING!! I had the steak an eggs with red potatoes an a side of pancake😁. Yes I'm greedy! Lol! Oh an did i mention... SCONES!!! I haven't had a scone since I been to the Puyallup Fair an thats been YEARS!!!!! Man! The scone was DELICIOUS 😋😋... Everything was great! Service an atmosphere! Price reasonable too!! I mos definitely will be back!

Food was nice, big, and filling! Great for a weekend breakfast if you're looking for quality diner food to fill you up. The staff could perhaps use a bit more organizational skills - as we were ignored at first, and then told that there would be a *significant* wait... Yet 2 mins later we were easily seated .
Forest Baker
Really delicious breakfast options here. My personal fav is the Eggs Benedict, but everything here is very good!
Sarah G
The food was delicious. The cinnamon roll was comically large and cloyingly sweet, but it tasted good. The eggs Benedict was delicious, the English muffin was perfect. We got there around 11:30, just before the mad rush came in.
Chris Davidson
The Blue Star is an institution. If you find yourself in this long standing Stone way eatery and watering hole I recommend the eggs Benedict ... or just get a pint and a giant cinnamon roll. Either way you can't go wrong with any meal, any time of the day.
James J Reilly III
Loved our visit - we're new to the neighborhood and are so glad that a restaurant like this is within walking distance! Food was good and varied, but really it was the staff that made our visit wonderful! They knew where to sit us with our stroller, and we're endlessly friendly, charming and helpful.
Yutian Xie
Came for brunch on two occasions. They do get busy during peak hours on weekends so I recommend coming when it's not as busy. Classic diner type foods and friendly service. The biscuit is mega and very tasty. Price matches the portion size, at least for the scramble/skillet I ordered.
Julia Moss
What a sweet spot. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and bar. A dreamy atmosphere with great big windows, a few big screen TVs, intimate booths and a social bar. Our server was so sweet and attentive. Good came quickly and was good. Lots of options.
Liesl Jaeger
A great option for brunch with a large menu! The biscuit that came with my scramble was incredibly good and buttery. They can get quite crowded on the weekend so you may have a wait if you go later in the morning.
Laura Musikanski
Decent standard American fare. Nothing fancy so don’t expect it. E. g. the truffle fries have no truffle. If you like bloody Mary’s this is your place. Try the Bloody Chihuahua. You will love it.
G O
The food was so good and they gave us loose leaf tea for the earl grey.
Caroline V.
Blue Star makes the best Ruben sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Coupled with seasoned fries = amazing! Best part of Blue Star is the fact that they have been part of the Wallingford neighborhood since 1975.
Susan F.
The food isn't great. Recently I had lunch and went back thinking they're burger had to be good. Nope, very blah. I'll try breakfast, hopefully it's good, otherwise that'll be my last trip.
Dezi Miller
Good coffee. Great server. Had the biscuits and gravy the gravy was good but the Biscuits were awful, stale, hard and I was not able to eat them. The egg get my partner had looked good. Don't have the biscuits. Maybe it was just a one time thing. They seem very busy so I think their other food was good.
Art Ganung
Noticed the scaling down on products i e., Waffles not a fluffy or thick as you'd expect, but let's be honest folks, USA has a problem with portion control. This establishment is worth the visit and the wait.
Jeff Woiton
Be hungry when you come here. One serving could feed a football team! They could reduce portion sizes and prices. Potatoes with the omelet were underdone and crunchy.
Ryan Chiang
Had a really nice breakfast here. Having tried most of Seattle's breakfast spots, the blue star does not disappoint. Clean and good flavors. The food and drinks are great!!
Logan Shelagowski
Overall a pretty good experience though the food was nothing to write home about, still a little greasy for the price. My GF ordered waffles but the waitress misheard her, when the food arrived we politely accepted the wrong order. The waitress overheard that the order was wrong and brought out some waffles free of charge. Kudos to her!
James WA
Best breakfast I've had this week. I'm from out of town and was happy to find this place. The interior has a personality its own. Mellow. The place is larger than you'd think looking at the outside. I need to come back at later hours to enjoy the beer for sure!!! Dine in is available and they serve breakfast all day. I ordered the Chiliquilies and a side of sausage gravy for my biscuit. Excellent!!
Brent Foley
Food and service were great! Everything tasted super fresh and delicious, and the portions were big enough to share!
T C
Food was mostly good. "Those potatoes" were not cooked enough. Service was non existent. Didn't even get water until I almost got the food, and it was a completely different waitress who brought it to my table. Table was uncomfortably small.
D D
Absolutely amazing breakfast at the Blue Star cafe and pub (not to be confused with blue star donuts in Portland). I'm not the biggest fan of going out to eat for breakfast but holy cow this place has amazing food. The biscuit was huge and the gravy and jam were delicious! Some of the best corned beef hash I've ever had! Perfectly seasoned and soft. Also great service and it won't cost you an arm and a leg!
Michaela H.
Exactly what you want in pub/diner fair, plus great wait staff.
Nachos, chicken fried steak, and cocktails the perfect after Thanksgiving meal.
Amber S.
I've been here twice in one week. First for Sunday brunch and then for dinner.
Had their Market Hash with a scone and the Orange Star cocktail then later the Sweetwater Clubhouse with the Goat Cheese Tomato Bisque. Pleased with both meals. The soup was so thick it was almost a pudding consistency and was my favorite thing of all.
p s
Wonderful experience and wonderful food. The bloody Marys are wonderful! We will be back!
Kevin McManus (Amor fati)
This is a classic diner that makes some of the best traditional breakfast dishes I've had in Seattle. It's a great spot in a great neighborhood in a great city. Worth a trip! :)
Breanne Barton
Amazing fluffy biscuits, perfectly cooked eggs, and the sausage gravy is so rich and creamy. I’m definitely coming back here next time I’m in Seattle.
Taylor Myers
Really delicious foods! Very casual, low key spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend the top gun scramble. Service was fast and friendly, couldn't ask for more delicious foods. Also, their famous giant cinnamon rolls are to die for. I split one with my girlfriend and was happy I did so. I ate it so quick I didn't get a picture! Got an Irish coffee. Which didn't. Skimp on booze either 😋
Will Frye
About as close to southern biscuits as your gonna get this side of the Mississippi.
Damn Good food.
Decent atmosphere.
Excellent coffee.
Come for the coffee and stay for the biscuits and jam.
Lucy Hawkins
Dinner food was absolutely amazing. The creamy penne pasta was delightful and comforting, the staff was all very kind and checked on us a lot. Nachos are also excellent, as is the Torre pines salad. Everything I tried was wonderful, you can't go wrong!
Wesley Crouch
Best breakfast in Seattle!
When I think about the best-breakfadt title I take into consideration price, amount, taste and convenience. This place has the proper amount of all four, thus pushing it to the top of my personal rankings.
Kimberlee Mathews
Best breakfast in town! The scones and fries are out of this world. 10/10
Tony Kilt
Straightforward diner fare with an expansive menu of brunch options. I settled on bottomless drip coffee and two-eggs-any-style-with-meat (over easy with toast and bacon) and I got just what I expected. A solid diner for brunch.
Stacey Lester
Been reading here for years. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great food in a airy room and great service!
sailor jupiter fancam
Wow wow wow!! Such wonderful service and AMAZING food!! Had an amazing brunch with my bestie and i am so glad we chose this place!!
Thankyou y'all! 💜 …
Liesl Ringhofer
I just finished munching on the amazing New York Breakfast Burrito I ordered from this restaurant's ghost kitchen on UberEats and WOW am I amazed! It's literall the most perfect combination of break and lunch foods. I'm not big in eating breakfast but what an amazing way to get 2 meals in one! And they don't go light on the portion sizes either! I'm so floored and impressed that I think I'll have to come here soon to just brag in person about it and grab a couple drinks with it! Thank you Blue Star, you really care about your consumers and it shows in your food!
kevin x
Nice little breakfast café, with the usual American fare. Above average scrambles, and the bacon here is top notch. Don't know if it's the standard, but the way the red potatoes were cut, some were so chunky and massive they could have been four bites per piece - this probably was the reason why a few of the larger pieces were undercooked. It's close by and convenient for me, so I'll stop in occasionally.
Angie Bare (Anjuli)
Delicious chilaquiles. Be prepared for a giant plate of food! Scones weren't quite ready when I got there, but the biscuit and jam were a good substitute. Staff was friendly and helpful. And those chilaquiles!
ronda roubanis
We came late in the day, service wasn't great, but I chalk that up to shift change. Food was tasty and satisfying though.
Tary Des
3 stars for the food ingredients. Cooking wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible. The only huge disappointment was the carne asada on our nachos, gristly and chewy like rubber as a result,
Despite being cooked well and full of flavor. For the price, I shouldn’t have to gnaw my meat into submission.
The bigger issue though was the service. The place had barely any customers (maybe 8?), 2 wait staff, and one kitchen person assisting with tables. In about an hour, they never checked in, refilled the drinks once after we flagged em down, and blew right past us numerous times despite trying to get their attention dozens of times, even at the end just to get the check.

We’ve been going to Blue Star Cafe & Pub for a while. Since COVID lock down started, we’ve been ordering them for delivery since we live only 5 min away from them. The foods are always fresh and well packed.
My husband loves their Bloody Mary with many versions, so when he really wants it, we dine in now…it’s hard to beat having it in the restaurant. Linda is our favorite server. She is very friendly and makes our day. The owner is also very friendly with raid back attitude. Foods are all great but also their environment make foods taste better.
Kelly Strom
Best pancakes and French toast and vibes! 10/10 would recommend
Katie W
Best pancake I’ve ever had. Nice folks working!!
Shawn Roller
Massive portions, although two waitresses kept alternating between checking on us without communicating to each other. So anytime one checked on us, five minutes later the other would. It was a bit much.
Shy Guy
I always have the same super sweet server, whether I dine in or pick up, and the establishment couldn't have picked a kinder face for the place. The aura of Blue Star is homey and welcoming, with the best dang eggs Benedict you've ever had. Try the regular Benedict first, then try the California or the salmon Benedict 😍 …
Eva Rivera
Food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Definitely will be back when in town.
Julia Liang
The service is always good, the waitress are all very friendly and considerate, the food is good and the quality is stable. We like their breakfast a lot.
Jason Caryl
We were seated quickly, place is clean and staff is very nice. When asked about drinks I let them choose a craft beer for me. They brought me a wonderful coconut Porter and it was perfect. We had the bacon cheeseburger and the western bbq chicken salad. Both were wonderful. Appreciated the juicy hand formed hamburger patty and sliced avocado. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended for the food, the service and the drinks.
Rana Doe
Food is really good, great location to go walk or brunch at any hour. The music in the place is definitely for the older crowd though which can make the atmosphere feel stuffy.
Mike Erstad
Had a really good breakfast with a buddy. Although they were packed we had great service. Got the corned beef hash. Very tasty.
Reece Murata
Great service and delicious food for a good price. A couple vegan options as well.
Scott Morris Rose
This is a perfectly decent diner - a dying breed in Seattle - for breakfast, and I keep coming back. Coffee - dark roast - is good, service is friendly, menu is fairly-priced.
Alexandra Lanthorn
Always good. Always fast. Always friendly. Fresh squeezed orange juice is a must!
Lily Friedline
The server John was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing with just the right portion size. Awesome environment and great location with good parking options. Will come again!
Mike Bloom
The Blue Star is one of my Wallingford "go to" restaurants for a good breakfast. I prefer the Chilequiles. Today the coffee was quite good and the service was very attentive, my water glass stayed full and coffee cup too. Happy to recommend this place!
T T
Great food and service. Don't miss happy hour.
nicole cox
It was okay. Longer wait than expected, only be told the they accidently called our name and it wasn't our table. Awkward. A long wait for drinks, longer wait for mediocre breakfast food. The bacon was delicious, very everything else was incredibly lackluster. However popular "those" red potatoes were, I don't get it. They tasted boiled and unseasoned, and the "roast" on them tasted more like, pan bottom burn bits from ???, but not crispy potato bits. Not worth $70 for two.
Sam-Marie Merrell
I was vacationing and my friends and I stopped by for brunch. The food and service was great! There was a slightly longer wait time than we were used to( it was busy) , but the food came out piping hot and fresh. It was DEFINITELY worth the wait! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!
Oliver Beetham
Great food, great service, huge restaurant so responsible distancing was easy and appreciated. Thorough and varied menu, perfectly poached eggs, hollandaise sauce was excellent, not too lemony but not at all bland. One of the better scones I've had, very light and crumbly. Everything was quality. Will visit again.
Gaea Steinbach
This is the first cafe In Seattle I’ve been to that gets it right. It’s a real old school cafe with great food and great service. Not trying to be overalls trendy but sticking to using great ingredients and paying attention to all the details and offering wonderful choices. Whether getting take out or dining in the food has always been made perfectly to order. The options for sides with your breakfast like tomatoes or cottage cheese are great for those cutting carbs. Variety and attention to detail are what make this place great. You can find the owner waiting tables and working in her place on most days and she really cares about the service and the quality of the food. My absolute neighborhood go to from now on.
Pattie Smith
Wow! Delicious and excellent food! Try the fried green beans - my kids just devoured them. Really worth going out of your way if necessary, to enjoy this great restaurant. (We just popped over for the unique toy store next door and what a great find Blue Star has been.)
Austin Danielek
The scrambles really really good but the breakfast burrito is amazing and my favorite. Their burgers are excellent as well.
Elaina Fritz
Lovely smoked salmon Benedict with raspberry mimosa for my birthday. Service was friendly/perfect without being stuffy at all. Homey and genuine.
Dawn McCabe
Friendly attentive wait staff. Extensive brunch menu with something for everyone. Delicious food that didn't take long to come from the kitchen. Classy pub-like atmosphere.
Carl D.
Food is good, portions are large, coffee is a bit weak. A few parking stalls on North side of restaurant but otherwise, street parking.
Alexandria Bodas
Blue Star has an impressive menu and covers all of your breakfast, brunch, and lunch basics. Nice spot in the Wallingford neighborhood.
Dallas Hodges
The takeout is always fresh, the foods great, dinner especially, and the staff are the icing on the cake. Really appreciate having them in the neighborhood!
Laura Moench
Great place for breakfast, normally we dine in, but take out had been a good experience. The biscuits and raspberry freezer jam, cinnamon roll, the top gun scramble with side of salsa, avocado toast with side of tomatoes, side salad Caesar, and the littles favorite the kid pancake. Also love their orange juice!
Torri Mathews
Everything was delicious, and the staff was inviting, friendly and helpful.
Jeffrey Hayward
The food was delicious!!! I got the Dynamite loaded burger and thoroughly enjoyed this bacon, grilled onion, and cheese covered meal. Others in my party had the King Club sandwich, which I was able to try... 🤤🤤🤤 Made me wish I had ordered that one instead …
Grant Hough
This is a nice, homey looking pub/cafe that feels like a throwback to basic fare is years ago. A pretty unexciting menu that covers the standards. Biscuits and gravy were solid, with the gravy certainly giving the impression of being either home made or enhanced in house. The potatoes, one of my true tests of a breakfast place, were rather sad. They seemed stale and bland, despite my arriving early for breakfast. The hot link side was very flavorful, too bad it was still cold in the middle. Service was friendly and efficient. Only noticeable thing was nobody checked in to ensure everything was okay after food arrived. But the server was always around so I would have had no problem getting hey attention if I needed. Not a bad spot, but not a wow by any means.
Alex Paterson
This place looks kinda small from the outside, but it's huge inside. The food, and drinks are awesome. The service is outstanding!! The people that work there should be very proud of what a friendly environment they have created, and maintained. The service I recieved is a rare thing here in Seattle, and they should be teaching a class on customer service. 👏
Linda C.
I have enjoyed many breakfasts at Blue Star over the years. But I have noticed differences occurring over the last couple of years--shortcuts, if you will--which have lessened the enjoyment. My favorite meal has been the Norwegian Combo; crepes with eggs & meat of choice. When freshly made, the crepes are tender and very delightful. But, according to a server some time ago, they are now routinely (not just when busy) made up in advance (not sure how far) and then reheated as needed. The reheating method feels like microwaving simply because the texture becomes quite rubbery. But I suppose that could also come from reheating on the flattop as well...overcooking is overcooking. Either way, the crepes are no longer tender and delightful. The bacon used to be quite a supple treat, but now is paperthin and feels like the pre-cooked kind that can be reheated either in the microwave or on the flattop. There is no longer any tooth to this bacon at all. The fact that the entire plate of food, except for the still foamy bacon, was barely room temp tells me there are execution issues in the kitchen. I'm not sure why--we were one of only two occupied tables in the entire restaurant in the middle of the afternoon. Lastly, service was spotty, perhaps due to the kitchen's execution issues. Instead of sitting under a heat lamp, toast was delivered a good 5 minutes ahead of the meal--to just sit and get cold. To the server's credit, it was graciously replaced upon request.
Of particular note, some of the above issues do actually predate the pandemic but, sadly, are still around, and others have appeared only recently. Blue Star is an awesome restaurant, and I very much want to keep it on my go-to list, but its quality and execution issues would need to improve.
Ben Meyerhoff
Blue Star is a great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I have never been there for dinner. Their omelets are a step above the usual breakfast spots and their scones are excellent. A nice change from toast or english muffin. Have a bloody mary, it will top off your meal.
Markus
Amazingly well done Eggs Benedict, probably the best I had during my stay. The other dishes also looked very promising.
Peter Andrade
I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. The last time I went I got the hobo frittata. It was nasty. The potatoes were burned and the eggs were burned and I couldn't distinguish the veggies. However, every other time I went my food was delicious and my wife's corn beef hash was awesome. The staff was friendly and attentive. My review is based on overall quality.
Brian McHenry
Visited on the hottest day in Seattle history when many other places were closed. The staff was being stretched but remained courteous and professional. Had a delicious breakfast. Biscuits are out of this world!
Tristan Amer
Superb brunch and drinks menu. The staff is friendly and even brought out water for my dog without being asked.
daniel jordan
Great brunch spot. Full bar and everything I've had on the menu is great. Top Gun scramble is my favorite. Lots of friends get the corn beef hash and love it. The food is great but reason for 4 star is have had the potatoes come out cold on occasion and it gets busy so there can be some waiting to get drinks or servers attention.
Judy McConnell
I had a salad with grilled chicken. Everything was fresh. Sangria was good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly.
S Di
Wait staff was very responsive and friendly. Tried one of their famous bloody Marys and was not disappointed. Didn't get a chance to try the food, but based on the reaction of they patrons I missed out. Well definitely visit again and revise where needed.
C Web
Don't know why, I really like this place. Maybe it's the old school interior the bar is real wood. Maybe it's the food or the beverages... oh okay it's all the above. It's one of those places that should be open late nite. Good vibe, friendly folk. Just eat, drink and go.
Adele Klee
The food is really good but it can get loud. I found it a little difficult to hold a conversation. Love the atmosphere!
Art Edelbrock
always delicious food! i’ve dined in and ordered delivery and picked up takeout and it’s always great.
geremy condra
Edit: I've revised my original review upwards to reflect their new-- and very, very good-- all day breakfast offerings. I think their breakfast and brunch have gotten better than Julia's. Try the pancakes and bacon for excellent execution on standard fare, or the corned beef hash (which also includes pickled peppers) for a more unusual approach. My original review follows-- please ignore the line about the food being 'just fine'.
Great selection of beer and cider and a comfortable atmosphere. The fried green bean appetizer is good as well. Other than that the food is fine but not phenomenal, and other bars in the area have stronger standout dishes. All that said, we come back for the drinks and game-sized tables over and over again.
Brandon Groce
Stopped here for brunch because I wanted to take my daughter to Archie McPhee (next door). No wait, staff was awesome. Food was standard, eggs slightly under cooked over medium, biscuits gigantic. Had some fancy Marys on the menu, will check out next time. All in all, a great experience. Will return.
M U
Amazing food and absolutely excellent wait staff! This place is a gem!
Einstein Jr
Everything was great except the coffee was kind of weak I've been getting much better coffee around.
Aeryll McGuire
Food and service are always great! Love that there are gluten-free and dairy-free options, and the prices are good. Good brunch spot!
Aileen Baker
A local favorite, this place has great standard American fare (both breakfast and dinner have been reliably great) and wonderful staff. It is nearly always busy, though wait times tend to be short. The drink selection rotates and is always great. I love the Anaheim burger and their scones are fantastic!
Feb
Love the banana french toasts but the omelette was a bit too salty. The portions of food were huge.
Chris Bellamy
Had a great breakfast...yummy!
Tyler Stewart
Blue Star is a great place to eat and drink. The food is wonderful, and I don't say that often when it comes to breakfast, I have high standards. In addition, the draft beer list is impressive. They have many of my local favorites (usually IPAs) plus some other interesting offerings including scotch ales and sours. Pair all of that with a weekend bloody Mary bar and you've got a winner.
Melinda Guertin
They are known for their Bloody Mary's and they did not disappoint. Can you say bacon?! I went for breakfast and I have to say the biscuits are the best I have ever had...sorry Gram. The food was good and the service was great. I love this place.
Natasha Hippler
Perfect Sunday brunch spot. Bloody Marys here are worth a try. Scones are massive and the jam is delicious.
Kate Quackenbush
Grilled cheese and tomato soup on a chilly, windy day was absolutely perfect here! Server was very gracious even though the place was hopping and she was crazy busy - recommend!
Sarah Herczog
I went to Blue Star for brunch. I was impressed with the menu as it has just about every option you could ever want on it. The environment is big and open and we were seated almost immediately. Upon ordering I got a biscuit with my meal that was huge and delicious. One of the biggest biscuits I've ever seen. It was great.
The only reason I give Blue Star a 3 star rating is because of the service. It was a Friday morning and not very busy, however, the service was quite slow. It took almost 20 minutes just to put our order in. Luckily we were not in a hurry. Overall, I had a good experience with the food and an ok experience with the service. I will go back for a second try.
Patrick Utter
Consistent quality best Bloody in Seattle so far and I have lived here 20 years. Favorites: country fried steak and French dip. 3/29/19. Revised. I feel the restaurant was struggling, but since they stopped doing dinner, I have found the quality and quantity of food has increased, However the restaurant is still inconsistent in their food. For instance my French dip, some weekends they’re great and Heather weekends they’re so so. For about $19. I expect my French dip to be great. For the inconsistencies, I’m going to have to remove a star.
Philip, Judy Grafious
Service was great, steak was not! It tasted old! Restaurant tables were not clean, floors were dirty. We used to love going there when they were still serving breakfast, not sure when we will ever go back :(
Natalie Levesque
Very classic diner. The breakfast was great. It's very kid friendly-they even had a stepstool in the bathroom. Service was quick, the coffee was smooth, and everything was clean and tidy. Portions were perfectly sized. They also have good vegan and vegetarian options.
Darnell Kebo
I've had breakfast here twice ordering the corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and omelet. Unfortunately, the potatoes that come with the dishes are not very good. It has an odd burnt taste to them although they are cooked through and soft the flavor is too bitter. The corned beef is chunky and dry and when paired with the potatoes just doesn't taste very good. The biscuits and gravy is decent, savory gravy and the biscuit is par. The California omelet is ok, I can't actually remember much about it.
For lunch I've had their cobb salad which is a pretty good size salad. Very filling and the ingredients fresh although the chicken was pretty dry it was still tasty.
Paul Nash
The service was good. Definitely a "family owned" feel, which is good. Servers don't treat you with the overly fake smiles and fake laughs. Instead, you're treated like a regular, with just enough pleseant-ness that it feels genuine.
Food is delivered fast and hot. The only downside was the potatoes tasted like they'd been fried in a pan that had been used all weekend without a proper wash.
Ben Roura
Really good and more than I thought I was going to get for just bacon and eggs
Matt Perrone
Blue Star is right around the corner from Archie McPhee's in Wallingford. It's got quite a bit of seating inside, but brunch time it gets a little busy since the pricing on food is pretty good. Cocktails and drinks come kinda strong, and they serve good portions on their plates. Service is alright, but when they get busy, be ready to wait a bit. Same goes with the food, it can take a while to come out. If you're around the area and there isn't a line, then you should try it out.
Chelsea Amethyst
This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast lunch or dinner. Sometimes the service is a little slow or the food is a little off but it's a really solid diner with a great menu.
Since they changed the hours I really cant come here anymore. It used to be one of my favorite all around spots but now they have dramatically decreased the hours :(
Ben Nicholson
I really like this place. My wife and I visit blue star cafe & pub once every few weeks or so. The food is always really tasty and the service pretty decent. The portion sizes are large and filling. Definitely order one of the many great bloody Mary options that they have to offer.
anita angel
Had enjoyed this restaurant for decades. Moved away a couple of years ago, but when return to visit, always on my list to eat at. Great service and food consistantly.
Jonathan Somerville
The staff was very friendly. The location was great. Most of the food at breakfast was delicious. We had a breakfast burrito with chorizo and Traditional Eggs Benedict. The only sour note of the whole visit were the over salted potatoes. They had great crispiness and excellent seasoning but SOOOOO much salt. (With the delicious quality of everything else, we suspect it was a one-time/accidental thing.)
Sunny Choi
Have been going there for over 10 years and food and service have been consistently good. Love their scones and egg dishes. But last time we were here it took 20min to order our breakfast and additional 30min to get our food. We were pretty dissatisfied with service overall.
Greg Vetterick
Classic diner food done well. Huge portion sizes! The chicken fried steak, the biscuits and gravy, and the cinnamon rolls can each be split between two people and both people will still be full. Service is always spot on. Other restaurants could learn a thing or two from these guys.
Mel
Lifelong Seattleite here. This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle and I have brought everyone I love here. Always a good time. Highly recommend.
Adam Tischler
The space is a throwback and a rare treat. We have kids and there is a great deal on Saturdays for them along with inexpensive growler refills. The food is OK, but not or primary draw. Service is friendly.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup is good. Fish tacos are a bit spicy, without warning.
kurt hughes
Been coming on Thursday breakfast for 25 years
Sergio
Had the eggs Seattle and it was fantastic, super fresh tasting salmon and as a plus, they had nitro stumptown cold brew on tap! The service was also on point. Would absolutely recommend
Jessica Welsch
Go here now! We had a huge breakfast that we chose off of the enormous menu. The scrambles were delicious. My advice, skip the cinnamon roll and double down on the scones.
Linwel Lady
Have been craving a burger so badly, and it's not something I can make at my apartment without an oven. Right now it's hard to find gluten free options that deliver and it made my day to have a burger for my birthday. Thank you so much for hitting the spot! Craving more than satisfied. Will be back for more!
Peter H
I love their burgers , they're the best I've found in town and it's a really good place for breakfast as well. The salt and sweet of the bacon waffle with the maple syrup is so tasty. Also, the orange juice does not get any better or fresher or sweeter as it is squeezed per order. I'd give 5 stars but sometimes the eggs are sunburnt and the green peppers on the Denver omelette are the size of knuckles. What are they thinking?
J B
Awesome breakfast spot, very nice inside great people, just a good place to grab a bite, more than enough options
Rachel Evans
We used to go to Blue Star all the time but have been 3 times in the last year and have decided not to eat here again. The place is just filthy. I don't think the rug has been vacuumed let alone shampooed in years. The tile floor is dirty. The table was sticky. Yuck. The food was greasy and tasted warmed over. It was served way way too fast to have been cooked fresh.
It's too bad because the staff is very friendly and the service and decor are great. But it's just too awful otherwise.
Erik Savage
Great breakfast and lunch! Great list of beers on tap! (Had Boundary Bay Scotch)
Fuzzy Carter
Dive Diner & Bar. Place is always clean, but has a very rugged and neighborhood feel.
They server all day breakfast, and are a brunch favorite. Even on peak, non-holiday, days, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. And even then, I almost never have to wait.
They have a large list of breakfast foods, including weekly specials and an a-la-carte menu.
Alexis Sortor
Excellent service, great diner food! I had the Norwegian crepes and I will definitely be getting them again.
Kelly Cover-Tam
Blue Star is one of my favorite places to go for a casual meal. They serve breakfast all day, and they have a full-service bar (also available all day). This is a GREAT place for vegetarians because they have different veggie "meat" options. The portions are excellent for the price, plus you get a side and bread option (I recommend the scone).
Joshua Lindamood
If you visit here, you must get the breakfast scramble burrito with black beans and potatoes! It is the perfect blend of everything in your mouth that leaves your taste buds wanting more!!! 10/10 highly recommend!
Matthew Matulovich
Good food good Bloody Marys... place was a little dirty but we did go right after the lunch rush
steve x
Rather bland brunch. My omelet was on the dry, slightly rubbery side. Though it didn't taste bad, neither did it wow me in any way. My companion's eggs benedict left her as cold as the dish was. Service and décor were nice enough, however.
Joseph Mulligan
THE go-to place for breakfast in Wallingford! Sandwiches are also great, but their omelettes and scrambles are fantastic!
Robert Powell
When I first moved to Seattle in the mid-90s, I loved this place and ate here probably twice a month.
I haven’t been here for about 17 years. Boy has it changed. It feels more like an airport restaurant now rather than the fun, energetic place I remember.
The food isn’t bad; it’s just generic, mediocre. And, the atmosphere has become just … meh.
I get the impression that the owners/managers are just coasting.
Lauren Rederford
Always a warm welcome when I come in. I absolutely LOVE the Pancakes here wow. Yumm! Great way to start the morning and to end the day with a great meal cooked for you. Customer service is fabulous 👍🍓🥰 Thank you!!! …
Michael Mylan (Love to shop 1)
This is a great place to eat the service was really slow and I had some place I needed to be so I was a little uneasy waiting for my happy hours meal. Happy hours start at 3 and they have happy hour meals. I will return but probably want to have more time and can just be more relaxed. They serve breakfast all day have a great menu.
Gretchen Michels
Wait and bar staff are great. My salad was very wilty and I had to reassemble the sandwich before I ate it because everything was in the middle. I hear they're more popular for their breakfasts, makes sense because their lunch isn't memorable for good reasons.
The Lyle
Great brunch restaurant in Wallingford, serving the community and Seattle at large for many years. Family owned and operated, this place is the answer to your growling stomach. By yourself, out with friend, or with your large family, there’s a table for you. The staff is experienced and always friendly, and the cooks make your food with skill and precision. Thanks guys!
Stephen Ramirez
Standard brunch fare without the overly greasy, manufactured taste you get at typical chain restaurants. Fresh veggies and mimosas, only missing a star because service is spotty.
Great location for families, wait is never longer than 15-20 minutes in my experience.
Iain
Amazing interior with a concise & large menu of breakfast/lunch plates. The food was amazing with bakery items made in house. Larger inside than appears on the outside with plenty of spacing.
L B
We stopped by for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent. Would of been 5 stars but the waitress was extremely busy and the booth needed to be cleaned from the previous parton. The bus staff was excellent though. Great job.
marina miller
Super yummy breakfast and a lot of good vegetarian options.
Ce Ramirez
Amazing place. Our go to place for breakfast. They serve all day breakfast, burgers and have a wide variety of beers. Americana comfort food. Multiple sports tv always going. Staff is attentive and respectful. Lots of seating. Owner Torrey is friendly. Next to to Archie Macphies...a perfect pairing for the family.
richard mcmahan
I'm a vegan. I told my server that I was vegan. My server quickly went through the menu choices with a knowledge base of veganism that was impressive! She and I put together a great vegan lunch which, by the way, wasn't on the printed menu. So go ahead and tell them your vegan, they'll come up with something great! I will certainly return.
Caine Nielsen
Food was a good, the breakfast potatoes could use some work. Service was fine, but a little inconsistent. I love the theme and location, and I wish I could stay for the bar this evening.
Jonathan Rundle
Great place for breakfast after having a long night out. We both had some great scrambles full of veggies and lots of potatoes on the side with a ton of toast.
The only bad side is that sometimes you have to wait (we waited 10 minutes at the most) and the waitress seemed really stressed out, but it didn't effect our service.
Overall, another great breakfast place.
Anthony Smith
A staple we have every time we visit. My sister lives nearby and everything is always delicious. Service is great as well! Recommend it!
Sabine Grupp
Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing espresso martinis. Great ambiance and 100% add arugula to the French toast.
Leslie Bigos
I've always gone to Blue Star for a drink or to meet family for dinner and it's always been good. Today, however, we went for breakfast. It was delicious! I had the hash which had beets, corn, onions and red potatoes and it was a delicious accompaniment to my eggs. I'll come back for breakfast!
Demaris Moorehead
The Blue Star, you really shouldn't miss out on one of Seattle's best loved restaurants!!! Not only amazing food, but also amazing staff - we had the Rubin sandwich (best one my friend has ever had), and I had the Wings, which to say they are the best ever is a complete understatement. Our server was totally great, and this customer service is why no matter where I live, I will always make my back, no matter what. Oh, that and the Wings.
Mackenzie Wipf
I've only ever been to Blue Star for brunch, and both times it was good. The waffles and benedicts are amazing, but their breakfast potatoes fell below the mark for me. They were so heavily seasoned that I couldn't eat them.
patty siniscalchi
The service and food were amazing! We ate there 3 times.
Valarie Mitchell
One of my fav brunch places in north Seattle. Tons of delicious options. Plus a full bar
Rachael Huffman
Great happy hour and good place for a large group to get food and drinks. They have a great selection of beers and specialize in comfort food. Try the fried green beans. Known for their breakfast as well. You see lots of rec league teams coming in from Green Lake. In the summer, they have outdoor seating as well. There is also a back room that can be reserved for parties.
John S.
Good low key spot for food and beers. They have breakfast going all day most days, and usually about 20 beers on tap. Usual burger, salad, and sandwich fare is available, and all quite good.
They have a small but strong happy hour menu too.
Carrie Campbell
This is a great place for breakfast everyday. The Bloody Mary Brunch on Sunday is apparently terrific too. Fresh, delicious ingredients and the loose leaf team is a treat.
Teresa Moore
Visiting from Spokane and went for a morning walk-about in the light Seattle drizzle and landed at the Blue Star Cafe.
So very cozy. The food and staff are amazing and the portions are generous. I shared with another and still took some home.
Thank you for an amazing morning hello!
Tressy Hawkins
This place has the BEST food! Delicious and reasonably priced.
Erica Ward
Love this place! Though, every time I order take out some item gets left out of the bag or forgotten. Still delicious though!
Mazecraze
This neighborhood pub/bar/restaurant had been around for a long time for a reason. It's homey and has excellent brunches. Had the Eggs Monterey with avocados (LOVE avacados) and the scramble didn't disappoint. If you are looking for a place to go for breakfast this is your place!
Jenn Indo
This place is amazing! Hands down the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. The food melts in your mouth and ignites all of your taste buds. The service is great too!
Ian Finley
I've wandered in here several times on a hungry whim since moving to the area several months ago. The food was very tasty and well prepared. The menu is diverse and while it is by and large classic American, its a step above greasy spoon. The servers were very nice, even the one time I came in when it was busy.
Louis Kaplan
We like this place.. we crave it every so often. the food is usually good or better but not always. Sometimes it is gratuitously heavy. The service is good; there's sometimes a wait during the busy brunch hours.
Jacque Warren
Atmosphere was good, the food wasn't the best it could've been better if it wasn't so cold. I had the eggs Benedict, I liked the type of ham they put on it.
Kirsten Pickett
Top Gun Scramble, need I say more??? Blue Star's food is amazing. Classic place for a weekend breakfast with family or friends. Blue Star also has an amazing beer selection and their staff is fantastic. This place is usually pretty busy on the weekends but definitely worth the wait.
Fred Roberts
Good food. Lots of beers to choose from. Very child friendly....Saturday is kids under 12 eat free right now. (Probably annoying if you don't have kids. But the window for the special is pretty small.)
It's a solid neighborhood family pub.
dylan rolph
Lots of great beers on tap as well as an awesome large food menu. The employees seem really happy to be there which is something I always look for after 14 years in the industry. Oh and did I mention their food is frickin delicious!!!!! Also it's right next to archie McPhees gag shop which is also a must go to when in Seattle whether your a seattle local or not.
Shering Reeves
I use to love to come here for breakfast. It was the best. But the past 2 or 3 times have eaten here food and service was not as good. I probably will not return unless someone refers me in the future that it is like the good ole days
John Buzzard
Found this place by chance while heading to the zoo. What a great find. Food awesome, customer service was fantastic and the history of the building is great. Will return when I come back to Seattle.
KatiRose Callison
Super quality food! Super Amazing service! Great beer selection!
Mitch Nesset
Pretty good food and great service. It's also pretty easy to get a table at
Lorinda Hagstrom
Great food and nice service once seated. It was a bit slow to have anyone greet us (no one at the host stand) without a sign to seat ourselves or add ourselves to the waitlist. Definitely worth returning!
Darcy Fulcher
The food and service was great... except for the scone! It was hard as a rock... with apologies they sent a biscuit home with me... I should have checked it before leaving the restaurant. It was almost as dried out as the scone... the toast is always good though!
WerleBees
It's where you go for breakfast and mimosas at noon. 😉
Cameron Jurgensen
Some seriously great food and awesome customer service. After living in Seattle for years, I can't believe that I am now just finding out about this place.
P.S. The Eggs Benedict and scones are fantastic.
Wayne Balsiger
Nice restaurant. Breakfast items nice at lunch. I liked the Norwegian Crepes. Established 1986. Reasonable prices. Nice cozy place. Good for larger groups.
Bill Corfman
Everyone that greeted us and helped us were extremely pleasant and helpful. They were very busy but our food was still good and served promptly. We had not been there in a while and it was nice to see it was still a good place to go.
Adam de Boor
We'd tried this place a few years ago and walked out without getting served, but tonight was different. We came for a burger and it was really really good. Actually medium rare with crispy fluffy fries. Will try the Mac and cheese next time.
Chris Maltby
Great breakfast joint. The staff was very flexible but attentive while my friend an I caught up before ordering anything. Excellent Eggs Benedict, too!
Dina D
Spent many nights here playing trivia and eating/drinking. Overall a good place, but sometimes the food is a bit too greasy. Great servers though. Excellent spot for a larger group.
David G
Delish!! Simple and comfortable diner with excellent service. 10/10 would consume food with my face hole here again.
Nae Nae
Great place for hangover food. They have several vegan options and you can replace most egg dishes with tofu. Plus their jammy jam is so bomb. I could just eat the jam with a spoon. I've eaten it at other places in Seattle, but Blue Star has the raspberry. My fav.
A M
Decided to check this out due to its proximity and the reviews. Staff was friendly, food was just what you would expect from a diner-esque establishment. Price was set just right. Coffee was extremely weak. Overall a pleasant experience and I'd return.
Robyn California
The best breakfast in Seattle, a great bar and good place to meet up!
Elizabeth Smith
I like this place for brunch. I appreciate the lactose-free cheese options! I've had several omelettes and even some sweet items (french toast, etc.), and all of the breakfasts I've had there have been good.
Jim Butler
Best neighborhood spot, with good draft beer and good comfort food.
John Webster
Awesome breakfasts at an old school Seattle eatery with beautiful bar. The browned potatoes and scones are a highlight along with great meaty bacon and dishes such as Top Gun scramble and the "Good Old Reliable."
Karla LadyDragon
Great food, amazing omelettes, till this day I always get my California ommelet but not the best service. My sweetheart has never been here before, I decided to bring him for a nice breakfast during brunch I want to say around 1pm on a Monday afternoon, the place wasn't crowded at all just a few tables and I still didn't get as much attention as other customers or that came after me. Again amazing food but not best service.
rashmi oak
Thank you Blue star cafe for making my husband's birthday special. I ordered a cream scone and california benedict along with a vive shot (immunity booster which has turmeric, ginger and all the goodness to boost immunity). I had put up special instructions to add something that says "happy birthday" since it was my husbands birthday and I could not be with him because of covid lockdown. I just took a shot and wasnt actually expecting anything since I was not sure if anyone would actually do it. but....They put up a decorative piece on the doordash order along with a birthday candle and a matchstick on the side of the scone. They also added some birthdly sprinkles on top of the scone. It made him very happy and it was indeed a memorable one for him. I cannot thank you enough for making his first bday so so special. It was his first birthday after our marriage that too far far away from each other.
Beau Johnson
I'm always a big fan of coming here. I always get the French toast that's made with challah bread and covered with banana slices, candied walnuts and caramel. They bring syrup, but it's good on it's own with out it (also, 2x sugar ha ha).
Only issue? The booths are pretty small and is crampt for our usual group of 5.
Bryce H
The food was colder than the mimosas, both were the wrong temperature. I heard good things about Blue Star, so I feel like the experience probably fluctuates a lot. Would I go back? Maybe to see if that was a fluke
richard cote
Service was quick and friendly. The food was good and fairly priced. I went in the afternoon and there were few people in the cafe. However parking is very limited. I managed to grab the only available vacant parking space.
Jayney Wallick
This place has great, flaky, tasty biscuits--a real treat to add to many breakfasts, though their waffles and pancakes are great too.
Kristen Grote
Sometimes you just need some straight-up classic diner food, and Blue Star's got it. Friendly staff in a bright and unfussy atmosphere. A tad expensive but the portions are huge - you definitely won't leave hungry.
John Turman
Came here for drinks while waiting on Bizzarro and ended up staying and eating! Good food and very good prices for drinks. I would come back here for more!
This place offers American staples in a vintage, moderately upscale environment. This place is great for groups in the FreLard area.
Jeffrey Justice
Good homey atmosphere. No parking. Great food and menu.
Krystal Kanh
I come here for the Farmer's Bloody Mary and the late breakfast. I will say though that the service is always a miss. No water refills and our check being dropped in the middle of eating often is a common experience.
Andrew Revis
Good service, happy hour servings were very small, probably should have just ordered the regular sized item for better deal, food was good. Breakfast makes this place worth it, otherwise I'd pass
Kristine Kornmann
Staff are friendly and food is good. I've been here twice and it seems like a pretty popular place. I have had to wait for a table both times and it was approx. 10 min each time (was dining with a group of 6 and 9).
Evie Allen
Great Service! Good food
george montero
Great food i wish I would have taken a photo. It was such an experience having a sit down meal. Excellent service and outstanding food.
Jane Cahn
Large portions! Had the turkey burger on a gluten-free bun. Great family- owned business. Parking is a bit problematic. Lots of choices.
Scott W
Their omelets are excellent. Get the California omelet with olives and loaded potatoes. I usually share this with my wife, it's a ton of food.
Ooh, fried green beans. And now I'm hungry, thanks Google.
Aaron Soto
Went there for breakfast and omelet was very good, the huge cinnamon roll delicious to share between 4 people. They also serve fresh natural orange juice.
BANDIT XRAY
I have visited this establishment on multiple occasions and I am always happy . The service is fast and kind. The menu is home style delicious. The beautiful architecture takes you back in time.
Conrad Nied
Delicious! I always love the food here.
The Chile Verde Scramble I had today was delicious - and it shares a menu with many other great choices.
Robert Weaver
Great breakfast spot, love the scrambles and benedicts
Mary Munchak
Excellent Bloody Mary per my daughter. Food was tasty and fresh. Fun atmosphere. We got lucky with parking at a busy lunchtime on a Saturday.
S William Walters (Reading William)
I had a wonderful experience here with the friendly staff and I really enjoyed the food. the atmosphere is classic large Pub very roomy clean restrooms and a party room that hosts Toastmasters meetings 😊😊😊😊😊 …
Samantha Stratton - She, Her
Meals might seem a little pricey, but you won't believe how much food you get for each plate. It's such a value and all DELICIOUS. Grab a scone to share with the table.
Scott Lang
Great food! Great prices! Great atmosphere!
Always a quality experience here..
Collin Miller
Decent food, ample portions, service a tad slow but they are also very busy so totally expected for our visit. If we are hungry and in the general area again would come back.
Rory Galloway
The best breakfast I have had in a long time!
Bonnie Block
Good food, great service.
Derek Smith
Amazing food and Delicious adult libations. Eggs Benedict was great. Bagel and lox with capers had a great balance. I hope to eat here again.
Jon Bokic
Been here 4 times on two separate trips to Seattle. Get the spuds, you won't regret it. Fantastic staff. They now close at 3 so make sure you get there early!
Cecily Sherritt
Food was excellent as well as the service.
Enjoyed the cider!
Sally Lee
It was okay. Little on the pricy side. Typical american breakfast. Unfortunately got a water glass w someone else's lipstick on it. Food was average...
Peter Mackiewicz
Wait was long good that it wasn't raining.
D.E. Manning
Easy parking, good food, good service, decent bar. I approve! 😉 …
Varun Kamath
Had waffles combo, was super yum. Their fresh coffee is really good.
Dan Cioloca
Good stuff. Had a great salsa verde scramble with some hot sauce. Yum! Great beer selection, mostly local goodness. Service was average, nothing too crazy. Overall good experience
Roxanna M
Yummy food, lots of choices, and pretty quick service. Waiters are always friendly. Good find for a diner with some healthier options too!
Ryan McDonald
My favorite place to take the family for a Sunday brunch
Rachel Ullstrom
Blue Star has a great breakfast menu with good vegan options and a cozy atmosphere. Get there early or plan for a wait on weekend mornings.
Robert Nyi
Very family friendly. My family & I were in town Saturday & stopped by for lunch. I have heard good things, but we were absolutely blown away by how friendly the staff is, and the food was absolutely amazing!
Lee Byrd
The French Toast is so delicious. Bloody Mary's are damn good too.
Truong Vu
I ordered the oatmeal pancakes and it was alright, nothing special about it. However the bloody Mary are to die for. My ownly problem is that the time it took for a party of 4 drinks took 20 minutes.
Darla J. Powell
Great food in big portions. The Top Gun scramble is so good! Great service, too. I'll definitely be back.
Matt Welsh
This is our neighborhood spot for burgers, beer, and family nights out. I'd give it five stars but the service is usually slow and inattentive - takes forever for drinks and food to come out, servers rarely check on the customers, etc. If they'd just train the wait staff properly this place would be great!
James Meline
Wonderful food and great atmosphere. Brought my kids here for dinner and had a fantastic time. Great service and amazing food.
Karynne Williams
One of my most favorite breakfast joints in Seattle. Great food, had the Top Gun scramble, and pancakes and it made my morning.
Sarah Bonck
Great variety of foods and always great service! It is our go to when we have out of town guests because of the consistently good service.
brooke
Great food but service could use a little work. Great for what it is... a Seattle bar and grill
Rachel Lafser
Gigantic cinnamon roll! Very delicious food! Great service!
Tim Pepperell
Great staff. Good food however the past three times I've been there my bacon and eggs came pretty cold.
Ya-Yunn Su (Jodie)
This is my favorite brunch place. Nothing fancy but very solid food. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.
John Smith
The food is always overcooked and service is slow. I would drink at least one more beer per visit if they just payed more attention. But I'll still be back next week.
Scott Henderson
I had a very good club sandwich with avocado and excellent fries. Service was a bit slow early afternoon but good otherwise. I'd go in again.
Robert Turnbull
I really like the servers. Very friendly and attentive. Lately I have been avoiding the potatoes with breakfast because they are both cold and burnt.
Simone Tanke
As always, Blue Star is a 5 Star! Great atmosphere, the food is just like Home Cooking, at your favorite aunt's house!
Bill Penberthy
Went in for a greasy burger and they delivered. Good tap list ss well.
Gordon Stephenson
Unbelievable staff and great food. For breakfast lunch or dinner, drinks after work, brunch on Sunday...no better spot than the Blue Star. A Seattle classic.
Lynn M.
Service was friendly and the food was good. Location right next to Archie Mcphee was fun. Parking could be challenging depending on the time of day. The host was the best.
Kalonica Christie
Good standard eggs and bacon. Really friendly and fast service. Scones are delicious!
Katherine Goetter
My friend and I shared tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich. It was ok. Service is great and we ate inside. 😀👍 …
Larry Valadez
Best service I've had in Seattle. Super friendly and great breakfast. Homemade raspberry jam on the table went great with the huge bisquit.
Max Tiffany
Good bloody Mary with pepper jack cheese garnish. Really good food too. They have a full bar. Only complaint would be the food is a little expensive. Would still recommend.
Matteo Gouveia
Busy but worth it, delicious food, great service. Would recommend.
Josh Phebus
Hit the marks that you want out of a breakfast spot. Booze and a great menu 🙏 …
Tenaya
Always been a local favorite of mine for breakfast, brunch or lunch. They have great food and good sized portions.
Patrick Commins
Fantastic staff and great breakfasts! They started serving all day. It's hard not to eat here eveeyday!
Stuart Marshall
Great reliable breakfast foods. Excellent service. Comfortable wood decor. Can be a little busy on weekend mornings.
Sandeep V
Next door joint, no frills or fuss. Good service. Decent options for a quick bite. The pub has good options too. And they have happy hours too.
Roy Wellman
They serve an amazing breakfast but that's not all. Great place to go on a Sunday morning, relax and just enjoy the weather.
Emma Riggin-Sizer
Decent food, but is a pretty popular spot so the wait for sitting and eating ca. Be pretty bad. We went right after they opened on a Saturday morning, but no such luck.
Michael Foster
NEW HOURS! CLOSED AT 3pm! Great Wallingford standard for eggy brunches in a warm, wood-paneled room, but now changing hours. So much for the pub?!
Linda Quinby
Fast service. Yummy food. I had the traditional Eggs Benedict - delicious.
Keith P.
Very popular breakfast spot, but on the weekends take out times can be excessive.
Jay Bob
A favorite place for breakfast. Good food, good coffee, good atmosphere. Drops to 4 stars for dinner fare, but the same 5 stars for every other aspect.
Oscar McKelligan
Great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a very relaxed atmosphere and friendly environment. Their happy hour is generous. Great place to chat
Aaron Amos

must have had a bad day yesterday. Potatoes were overcooked, the scone was dry and the hostess tore a napkin in half to put under our coffee cups. What's up with that?

Tucked away in Wallingford, this mellow bar brings locals for good comfort food, trivia and private knitting in the back of the room. The place has killer $6.95 spaghetti and $4 margaritas on Mondays.
