One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the area. I enjoy getting takeout or dining in whether I’m seating inside or outdoors. The food is delicious, staff is welcoming, attentive and friendly. There is something for everyone in the menu (even if you have a special diet. It is vegan and gluten friendly). Prices are reasonable, and portions are large. I love that I can enjoy leftovers the next day. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting. Go with friends or family, they will have a great time taking in the nice atmosphere, listening to Indian music and having a delicious meal. I would suggest making reservations before you go. It is a popular restaurant but absolutely, worth it.

India is one of Providence's best restaurants in general and a cultural gem for the city. The atmosphere, lighting, and general feel of the setting is perfect to match their menu. Service was excellent, very helpful in catering to any special requests. Food was delicious as expected. Many seating options, inside and outside, the menu is very fairly priced for the quality of food you are getting. A great selection of cocktails and drinks to choose from, typically busy on weekend nights but they also have an in house Henna artist doing free henna work available to patrons, a great opportunity.

What an amazing experience 🥰 Although this place was busy on a Friday night we got our table immediately and the food came out so quickly. It was a really pleasant atmosphere, the servers were so attentive. Even management came to our table to greet us. Thanks again India for a wonderful night!

My best friend and I are regulars here (both vegan!) . One of my favorite restaurants. We love everything about India. The atmosphere, the consistency of the food, and most importantly, the servers/and service. Today, our server was Olga and she was WONDERFUL😇 Every server we have ever had here has been spectacular. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. It doesn’t matter what day you come in, the food is CONSISTENT in taste and quality. I have never left here unsatisfied. BEST INDIAN FOOD EVER 😍

As you can see from the photos, this restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I had reserved a seat by the fireplace which was so cozy on a damp, cold, New England day. There is a large selection of food and drinks to choose from. I got the Thali feast which consisted of a kale and cucumber salad, garlic naan, rice and two sauces. One was sweet and the other was tomato based. It comes with three sides so I ordered chicken, steak and lamb kabobs. I found it a little difficult to understand my server but she got the job done and was very friendly. This is my second visit to this restaurant and I will definitely come back again to sample more of the menu.

I had never ventured into Indian food until meeting my partner in 2019. He finally got to take me to India and he can do it again. The door opens and the smell of curry ignites your hunger. Everything is cooked to perfection. The taste is better than imagined. Venture out and try India.

Chicken kabob dinner, tandoori chicken house special, half basket garlic naan bread. SO good! Never had a bad meal, service or experience here. They also offer free henna which is a nice added touch. Best Indian in Rhode Island hands down.

New favourite place to go for Indian food! There's the option to sit inside or outside, we chose the patio because the lighting was a little too dim for us inside. Our server was great and very friendly. There are plenty of vegan options to choose from, and everything tasted amazing. We tried the veggie samosas, channa masala, zesty potatoes, korma with tofu, and naan and it was all so good. The only reason we didn't order dessert was because we were too stuffed, but definitely next time! Entree prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get, would recommend.

Incredible experience at India Restaurant. The ambiance was first-rate. The server was helpful, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious (we got the dining for two deal, getting the Mango Curry and the Fish Curry for our entrees). This was truly a memorable dining spot for me and my wife.

I tried Indian food a week ago and thought maybe it was a fluke that I liked it. It wasn't. India was just as good, if not better. The weekend brunch Thali special is unbeatable. The menu is vast with an option for everyone. The atmosphere and area are great with ample parking. The service was more than adequate. The prices for Providence, although on the outskirts, were tough to beat. Go! You won't be disappointed.

One of my fav spots in town, perfect for a date of any kind! Delicious food, friendly and attentive staff, strong drinks and great portions! Quality Indian food within a moody, cultural decor sure to leave a lasting impression! Do try the veggie masala and garlic naan!! You won’t regret it.

We visited the place with the wish to try the thali qbout which we have heard a lot of good thongs about. Unfortunately it was not available for weekend dinner and we ended up ordering from the alacarte menu. For the starter, the chicken tandoori was really good. We liked the kabab platter also. For entree, the dishes were okay and nothing extraordinary compared to usual and cheaper Indian restaurants. We had chicken korma, lamb vindaloo and karahi gost with mutton biriyani. The biriyani was alright, nothing extraordinary. For the side dishes, the portion size was relatively small compared to the price. The naan basket was the best among all the dishes ordered. For dessert, the mango ice cream and kulfi were refreshing but had ice chunks in them. The shahi kheer was okay. Overall the servive was good but didn't meet the expectations. May be will come back for the thali.

This is hands-down the best Indian Restaurant in the north east! The decor, the staff and the food. Decor - Beautiful, Staff - the sweetest. Music - Fun! Food - absolutely delicious! On my husband’s recommendation we decided to have dinner with our friends at this place, and I was so impressed 😍 The vibe ✨the music 🎶 the decor 🖼️ the food 👩🏼‍🍳 the host 🥂 everything was perfect. The management has been so thoughtful and have taken care of the tiny details like providing chilies and lemon with the meals, offering fennel seeds post dinner, or going to the extremes of keeping listerine in the washrooms for the guests (lol) God bless the Indian spices. We started with a round of drinks 🍹 - we ordered the mirchi margarita ( loved it) - I ordered the “Kama sutra” 😜 and it tasted so refreshing, just what I needed. The drink was delicious, yet stiff. - the saffron Prosecco was beautiful, don’t forget to sniff it first. 🫠 the saffron ❤️❤️ We then ordered the chana chaat, papdi chaat, home special tandoori chicken 🍗, and aloo tiki. The chicken was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, don’t miss out the salad and aloo side with the dish. The chaats were perfect! Their tamarind chutney was the best I’ve had in a while. We then ordered a full basket of naan, which has all 6 kinds of naans on their menu. My fav were- hot and spicy vindaloo naan, and spicy chili cilantro naan. We ordered 3 entrees- chicken vindaloo, paneer jalfrezi, and baigan bharta 🍆I loved the smoky flavor of the bharta, it was well cooked and perfectly spiced. The paneer jalfrezi was alright, we could have ordered another baigan bharta instead. The chicken 🍗 vindaloo was the best. The potatoes and chicken cooked perfectly simmered in spices, it simply a burst of flavors. 5/5 for that. We ended our meal with an order of each of these desserts- gulab jamun, rassmalai, gajar halwa. The rassmalai was soft, and not overly sweet, loved it. The gajar halwa was different, there was grated coconut with the carrots cooked with raisins and nuts, it was a bit sweet for my palate, but the flavors were good. I would definitely visit this restaurant again if I get a chance.

when i say this place is DELICIOUS 🤤!! my top 5 favorite places .. the service is EXCELLENT, very friendly staff .. i tried something different and got the peppered duck (with the black sauce) and it was what i wasn’t expecting if you catch my drift …. when it first came to the table i thought 💭 “i don’t want it” then i gave it a try.. it was SOOOO good 👍🏾.. sweet and tangy the duck was tender !! and of course my fiancé got the Biryani!! a classic and the BEST on the menu.. we also got the the mango Colada with rum and it was perfect !! I’m already a loyal customer and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The decor is very charming and seats are spacious. Waitress were busy and courteous since there were lots of customers that night. Food portions are good even though the taste are not as spicy as authentic Indian foods. I guess they adapt the cooking based on target audience. Also parking are on street only

Ambience/ decor : 5/5 Service & bar-tending : 5/5 Food : 3/5 Drove to RI from Boston, just to try this place out.. beautifully decorated, warm and courteous hosting, and good menu. We had The weekend brunch thali, and thought the food could have been a little more flavorful (with an option to be spicier as well). The paneer sag, lamb chops, and kheer were exceptional! Chana masala and chicken tikka masala, however have room for improvement. The option of Dal could be a great addition to the brunch menu.

INDIA Restaurant, by far has offered the best service and tasty food. It brought memories of restaurants back home. Lovely decor and music added to our great experience!! Saturday night dinner was quite busy. My party of 4 were seated in a corner booth. We started with cocktails, basket of assorted Naan and veggie samosas. Naans were delicious and the samosas were ok. I had steamed spicy mussels for dinner which had a nice heat. We ordered steak vindaloo and chicken masala, both were tasty and spicy. Atmosphere is cozy and a bit dark and nice.

A Must-Try place!! Their Bhel Poori is excellent!! Crunchy with a side of spice and definitely the Vindaloo Chicken. If you have a side for spice this is it!! But it may be too strong for some people.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and ambient, no matter the time of day. Staff is always accommodating and friendly. The food is incredible. The best Indian cuisine I've ever had. All the meat melts in your mouth and the sauces are immaculate. Last night we received a complimentary tea on the house after dinner. I've been here numerous times over the past couple of years and the integrity of the food is always on par. I'm so grateful for this place 😭✨️

This place is totally worth the hype. Loved the ambience and decor. Staff is excellent especially our server( sorry don’t remember name) Food quality and quantity both are worth every penny you spend. I would totally recommend to try their honey garlic naan, tulsi naan and marinated tandoori chicken dish. Don’t forget to try masala chai with cognac for desert. They also have some amazing dessert menu along with variety of cocktails. Parking can be done on the street.

The food and presentation at India is wonderful. We really enjoyed our time there. Our waitress, Tita, was amazing! She is very hardworking and efficient all while making time to have wonderful conversation with us! This was my first time at India, and what an amazing experience! Tita was my waitress, and she was extremely helpful about all the different choices on the menu. She made me feel very welcomed. The general environment at India is very polite and kind! I highly recommend this restaurant as the food and service was spectacular! Even if you don’t like Indian food, I recommend experiencing eating here. The decor was stunning. I have an overall wonderful experience, and I will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere. You can not beat the dinner for two special Sunday through Thursday- $60 for an appetizer, two entrees and dessert. The stand out was our server, Olga who was absolutely wonderful! She was attentive without being intrusive and a delight. First time here and I was not disappointed!! The service is impeccable...everything we ordered was delicious!!! The menu was easy to understand and the server was incredibly helpful and kind. We got a bunch of small dishes and I had enough leftovers to take to work the next day. FYI- India's food heated up the next day is unbelievable! My husband and I both were able to have a complete lunch just w our leftovers. One more thing- the Ginger Honey Naan bread is to die for. 😋

This place is absolutely amazing! I was excited and my expectations were already really high reading all these reviews here. I didn't expect the reality to surpass those expectations but they sure did. First of all, the moment you set your sights on this restaurant, you are immediately impressed. The decorations are amazing and the entire building as a whole is wonderfully designed. The interior is nice and cozy, the lighting is superb. The food itself is close to perfection. I've eaten a lot of Biryanis in America but this is definitely the best. The price is also extremely good, considering the quality of food + atmosphere. Some little nitpicks would be the fact that it can get really busy and really loud but that's just because of how in demand this restaurant is.

With a party of 8, ranging from Indian immigrants to complete newcomers to Indian cuisine, we all found new (or old) favorite dishes! We loved the Papdi Chat and Alu Tikki appetizers.. we found them to be the best chat items we've had in the US.. that's a lot considering we live in New Jersey :) But that's where the good part ended for us. The mutter paneer and naans we ok,and seemed a bit bland for our taste buds.

I met up with some friends at India, this evening, and had an amazing meal! The place is beautifully decorated, it's cozy and warm, and the food was fantastic! My friends both had the grilled shrimp kabobs on rice which were delicious, and I had a very tasty veggie Jalfrezi. Our waitress, Olga, was exceptional - very friendly, pleasant and helpful and never stopped smiling! She has a great rapport and a special way of connecting with you and making you feel at the same time like a special guest and like one of the family. Can't wait to come back!

Olga was absolutely wonderful. Our experience was so lovely. We sat in a cozy corner with the fire nearby. From drinks to the main coarse to dessert everything was delicious. I honestly don’t think you could make a poor choice with anything on the menu- such absolute quality flavors! Highly recommend

Came here for a friends birthday and had an incredible time! The hostess was incredibly nice, they sat us by the fireplace, which was a perfect backdrop for our celebration. The atmosphere, 10 out of 10. The service, 10 out of 10. The food, 10 out of 10. This is currently my favorite Indian restaurant, ever. I ordered the Jalfrezi with shrimp and my fiance ordered Masala with shrimp. We also split garlic Naan and ordered two Mango Colada's. I honestly didn't taste the alcohol in the drink but it was so good. The restaurant seems excellent for date nights and family outings.

Michaela was awesome! We came in with a tired baby and she was so kind and understanding, and then went out of her way to bring some paper, crayons, cherries, the works! It was so appreciated and kind. A bathroom says a LOT about a place, and the bathroom was amazing. Listerine and toothpicks in the bathroom was a great touch. They also had a sign for free henna on Fridays which is so fun, and they really care about their community. We support them as often as we can!

To me this is a top line India or Indian food cuisine the owner is very understanding about what people want. From what I hear from Indian people this is not an exact Indian flavored recipe it's a bit Americanized which is good for 90% of the people who live in Providence I find the place excellent for food and drinks and services very fast and the hostess and host of very good AJ is the host and he is very understanding and will make sure that you get what you need. Again the food is a bit off and a sense of traditional Indian food and it was done deliberately to appeal to the American appetite which I prefer rather than heavy set Curry and other spices I'd like a medium and that's the way this place serves it.

Makayla was our server. She was amazing! She brought us some of the tastiest treats. We had the zesty potatoes which are creamy, warm and delicious. Treat yourself to the potatoes as an add on to anything else on the menu. Aritson, the manager, is great at walking us through the menu. We usually get the lamb chops on the lunch menu, with the kale salad, tomato soup and rice pudding. Best lunch in town!

India is a restaurant I find myself always impressed more and more by. While anything you may get on the menu may leave you breathless, the Tandoori Chicken is one I cannot recommend enough.The smokiness of the fish mixed with the pairings of potato’s and salad alongside it makes it more than just a meal, but something much more than that. Kaleem was an absolute pleasure to have as a server. While I had accidentally spilled my drink, he was quick to the punch to reverse my error and executed extreme aptitude in doing so. Very fine service, and food to match. This restaurant will forever be a staple of Rhode Island.

Peppered duck, lamb biryani, and mussels with garlic naan are especially delicious choices, any time. Not sure when I wrote the above, but I'm sure it was a while ago, and my friend and I returned tonight. The place was bustling, with many people enjoying the still excellent food and ambiance. Not to mention the always friendly and attentive service. The place really does have something special. Almost got the chicken Tikka masala, which is excellent, but defaulted (again) to the lamb biryani, and the delicious mussels in that incredibly robust, spicy broth, with an obligatory side of garlic naan for broth dipping. Thanks again, guys n gals. As reliable as an old friend. I started this review a couple years ago and keep adding to it and posting more pictures.Twice this week. Recently did have the chicken Tikka masala, as well as the Tandoori Chicken, the Aloo Tikki, and the Baingan Bharta. Just gets better and better. Great for lunch AND dinner. And, of course, weekend brunch.

The best Indian food I have had in the US. This place is in Providence Rhode Island and about a 5-10 mins drive from downtown. The ambience of this place is amazing and nice Bollywood songs were being played. The food is delicious we started off with the non alcoholic Mango Lasso then ordered the Chicken Kabab for the appetizers and the Chicken Tikka meal for the main course. The meal portions were generous as well. An absolute must visit for Indian food lovers in and around the Providence area.

This is a very well maintained and fancy Indian restaurant with affordable food. They have brunch Thali on the weekends from 10 to 4 pm. I tried the Thali with Chicken Tikka Masala and it was heavenly!! I was super full and extremely happy after eating it. Some exceptions to this was the chicken kabab and the pulao which wasn't bland and not so tasty. So skip it. My friends tried the Chicken Biryani and loved it. 5/5. Other A la Carte stuff is also pretty good. If you are like me who just liked the Roti and Sabji, this is the best option. If you are really hungry, I would recommend trying the Thali (I skipped dinner after this)

My partner and I chose to have a spontaneous date night and decided INDIA would be our restaurant of choice. Upon entry we were immediately greeted and seated by the door. We sat at a both, close to the door but not in direct airway of the door so it wasn’t cold. It was very cozy. We were given menus and then left to read them back and front to be ready to order when our server came. We waited a couple minutes before being greeted and introduced to our server Veronica. She asks us what would we like to drink, we tell her. She asks if we have any questions about the menu we say no, and that we’re ready to order. My partner and I were debating on how many naan pieces to get and Veronica suggests we do the half basket of naan which we agree to, because, yes upsell, yes more naan for us! So my partner and I are talking, getting caught up in dee conversation, then we realize as we’re waiting for our drinks, that it’s taking longer than expected. ( Please understand my partner and I have both worked in the industry and know how much it takes to be successful waiting tables for tips. But tips are based on service. The better the service. The higher the tip.) We see our server walk by serval times smiling, but never slowing down or stop to check in with us even though we still hadn’t received our drinks. A few more minutes go by, then ALL OF OUR FOOD, is delivered, AT THE SAME TIME. So here my partner and I are, looking at each other like what’s happening, because in the food service industry’s we’ve worked in, the FOOD IS NEVER SERVED BEFORE DRINKS. So we’re now sitting in our cozy booth, with all our food and still no drinks. And our server was no where to be found. Granted, the place was well sat, but there were many other servers walking around and hanging by the host stand, so she wasn’t alone and if she were overwhelmed I’d hope she’d ask for help. More time goes by, and our drinks are then dropped off by someone else. That threw me off cause we also ordered to waters with our drinks during our initial order and they weren’t there. So we’re content with that, eat and genuinely enjoy our meals as per usual. As we’re finishing up, our server THEN drops off the water we ordered at the beginning. At this point, we’re confused. Not sure if we’re in the upside down or if she’s having a hard time balancing a full section. Either way, our experience was not what it could have been. So again, we’re waiting for our server, she finally came back and we asked for boxes, and the check because at this point, we’re ready to go. She brings the boxes, the check and then directs us to a board on the table that has a QR code. She asks us to please leave her 5 stars because she’s only 2, 5 star reviews away from her goal and she’d greatly appreciate it. Like ma’am, no. ”SHOPPING” yourself at a table is also a HUGE NO NO in the food service industry as the experience itself should be done well enough to entice your guests to want to leave a review and a 5 star one at that. Unfortunately, I can not honestly leave a 5 star review when we did not receive 5 star service. Please know, I’ve been a patron of INDIA for the last 12 years. This place got me trough college in cold nights, late nights and sad nights. So for me it’s a staple in my adulthood and a go to for the best authentic Indian food I know. So imagine my surprise and disappointment in what happened tonight. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Because of that, we tipped based off our overall experience and that’s also I chose to review it. This was a learning experience and hopefully a reality check for anyone who needs it. Yes. Serving is great money but it’s hard work and your income depends on how well you greet, engage and interact with your guests. If we, as guests, didn’t want an experience we wouldn’t pay $$$ to eat out. Regardless, the food was delicious, flavorful and filling. By far the best, so indulge a little and enjoy what I hope with be a great experience for you.

I came here for the first time for my 31st birthday! And let me tell you, the food was out of this world. We got the chicken kabobs, 3 types of Naan, chicken bryani, chicken marsala and so much more. The drinks are bomb! They have so many choices to choose from. I would suggest the Chai with a shot of cognac! And the service. Tita is phenomenal, and made my birthday phenomenal!!! I've always loved India, I'm glad they're still thriving after everything's that's happened the past three years. I had mojito, delicious. My entree was the three kabob dish with basmati rice. Shrimp and chicken we're good, steak was a little overcooked. Would have been nice to get it medium rare. It was flavorful enough to not be a deal breaker. We were sat immediately on a Thursday even though it was busy. Def want to try the biryani next time. Our server Michaela was awesome.

We started with the chai which was warm, delicious, and made with fresh ginger - ground with a mortar & pestle. Oh yum! Then the naan! We ordered basil, and we accidentally got the ginger honey, but what a wonderful mistake - this ginger honey naan is such a treat! We ended up adding the mango chutney which was perfect. And yes, we got the basil naan to take home, lovely and a completely different character than the ginger honey. As a main course, we chose the masala - the vegetarian & the vegan chick pea. Take your pick, both were so tasty and filling, we could’ve easily shared and had plenty. We ended up with enough for another day of leftovers! (We can’t compete with the lovely floral ambience on their patio though. Beautiful.) And did I mention our server was attentive and did everything to make sure we were all good.

I dragged my fiancée here after raving about this place for months. It's on par with Dishoom in London in my book. The menu is really creative; we ordered paneer kebabs and aloo tikki as appetizers. Amazing food and service by Tita! A large group of us turned up unannounced an hour before the closing time, Tita and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They patiently allowed us to rearrange the furniture so that we could all sit together! And they also allowed us to separate the bill into smaller groups to make it easier for us to split. Came here for my first time today, won’t be my last. Food was delicious and good portions. One of the best in Providence for Indian food. Their lunch buffet is perfectly priced and satiates your hunger. I’d been there on a Sunday afternoon and the buffet didn’t disappoint. They have a variety of naan options that make your meal enjoyable. The appetisers and entrees were delectable. Gulab Jamun, kheer and fresh cut fruits made for some nice dessert options. One note on the kheer though, it wasn’t as sweet as kheer usually is, but that could just be me. They also have some amazing cocktails with an Indian twist that actually works very well. I would definitely recommend visiting this place!

One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in the country! Amazing service and ambience complete with onion/chili/lime side for the meal, and mouth freshening saunf for after. Our server checked with us about the meal and later the maitre d also stopped by to chat how we liked everything. The food was very tasty especially the tofu jalfrezi which was our waiter's recommendation. A wide variety of vegan options and interesting cocktails with a tropical twist from the sub continent. The chai tea was really good too. The flavors of the naans were something we'd never seen in any other Indian restaurant: we loved the onion cilantro and spicy vindaloo; the cilantro one wasn't great as it made the naan soggy. We'll definitely visit again when in Providence! The restroom also deserves a mention with some uncommon amenities.

One of the best Indian restaurants in New England ! We ordered Tandoori Paneer tikka and Tamatar ka Shorba for appetizers. Paneer tikka came with a side of roasted masala potatoes and Kale salad and were hands down the best tandoori dish we've had in a very long time. Tamatar ka shorba was as good as well! In maincourse we had Dal makhani and honey Ginger naan. Dal makhani disappointed me after having raised the bar with those appetizers. The Dal should've been much more creamy and smooth in texture than it was. Honey ginger naan was a good innovation. In all, it was a nice upscale Indian place with chic ambience, amazing service and good food! I'd really like go back there, even if it means traveling all the way from Connecticut 🙂😋

5+ STARS only if Google allowed it! We were absolutely delited that we decided to stop at India Restaurant on our way back from Cape Cod. Nice locale, pleasant seating with external view and lovely interior decor, OUTSTANDING TASTE mixed with the ONE OF THE BEST HOSPITALITY I Have received in any Indian restaurant in the USA. The paneer tikka was the best we have tasted in US (we are Indian foodies). Other items were equally well crafted and prepared. Overall the place deserves a 5-star by itself but the extra star is because of the lively and lovely couple who have been hosting the place. The young manager (Aritson) and his wife (Tita) are the life of the place. So friendly and accommodating, they greeted and cared for each and every customer as if it was their own restaurant. It's a MUST visit place even if you have to drive 2hrs each way for authentic Indian food. There's a huge beautiful park across the street to spend the evening as well. Ample of street parking so don't bother. Try the weekends as the lovely couple will be there to give you an amazing experience.

The reason why I chose this restaurant was because of the vegetarian options . I was tired of going to the same veggie restaurants around . My husbands mean and my meal we got it on the mild side not spicy at all. The lentils were very good. The service was very good. Our waiter was very helpful . I parked along the street not sure how it is on the weekends. The decor is very nice. I enjoyed my lamb chops and bastami rice . The salad was great . The steamed muscles were out of this world. I would def go here again. After you done with your dinner they bring a mix of seed and nice little box , it’s an organic way of having something to refresh your mouth instead of like gum or something like that . The seeds are edible and has an interesting taste but I thought it was great touch at the end of our dinner

Great food. Great service. Great ambience. Get 30% off your entree on Tuesdays. We started with Aloo Tikki and Naan basket, which is an assortment of flavorful naan. For meal we had different curries. Korma, which is mild. Vindaloo which was very spicy, and Masala, which was very flavorful as well. Everything was great!

Best Indian food around! The outside seating is wonderful in the summer, but the inside is great too. The food is consistently high quality: have tried a range of menu items, and they never miss. Awesome, massive margaritas too. They had to raise their prices in the last 6 months or so, but they were transparent about why they did so (massively increasing cost of their ingredients, shortages, etc.). I think any loyal customer or reasonable person would appreciate the honesty and be happy to pay more.

It’s always fun to dine at India Restaurant. The cuisine has been consistent over the years. We went in today and had a wonderful experience again, which is why I’m calling it a 5 star experience. We went in for Sunday Thali which had all the Indian classics to choose from starting from Gobhi, saag paneer to Chole. Chicken Tikka Masala was flavorful and enriched with cream, you can tell they definitely have high standards for all the ingredients they use, unlike other restaurants in the neighborhood who have increased the prices but have compromised in the portions and quality. The Manager is always so pleasant to talk to, always greets us with a big smile.

Great food - good service - which they tell you up front they are charging you for! But when we left a $40 tip, they really owed us the courtesy to point out that they had already included the tip. So we tipped twice. Not pointing it out to a group of 6 or 7 seems, disingenuous, and or unethical. My chicken tikki Marsala was good and flavorful.

I've been here two times, and both experiences have been amazing! On our first time, Tita was super insightful about which dishes she recommended given my dietary restrictions. My partner and I enjoyed the food, it was delicious!! For our second time, we brought some friends along. I can’t remember the first time I had India Restaurant’s food, but I’m hoping this past visit will not be my last. The food here does not disappoint and two Saturdays ago I did manage to make it in for their brunch special. While not as thorough, perhaps, as their buffets (when they have them), the sirloin kabob and vindaloo were worth it alone! With the saag and naan and rice pudding (which I’m not a big fan of in general) this was a great way to spend my time and money with a great and dear friend! Not pictured- a spiked Mango Smoothie (not the official name). It was delicious. Interesting enough, the venue was being used for someone’s Wedding Reception. And since the restaurant’s most recent renovations I do believe this is a great spot for receptions! A seminal spot down Hope St. A must for anyone visiting Providence.

We had a reservation on a Friday night and walked right in. The wait staff and atmosphere were superb! It was a spring celebration so we got a lei and a fun marking on our head (sorry for my ignorance of not knowing it's meaning). We had a delicious spicy mussels appetizer with swimming pool sized margaritas! Ordered 3 main courses including trying pander cheese and they were all done to perfection. I had a great entire experience and would recommend to anyone that likes this type of cuisine.

absolutely amazing! my friends and I went! It was our first time, my friend and I got a pineapple and coconut margarita and and a mango colada. The lamb chops were incredible, and the lamb saag is the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere was beautiful and nice, not too noisy, but it also wasn’t extremely busy. And the staff was extremely sweet. Definitely the only place I’ll be going for Indian in the future!

I’ve had their lunch special and also enjoyed them at dinner time. I am rating 5 stars because I had a wonderful experience while dining here. I was visiting town and I was in the area so I came into the bar. As soon as I sat down, seconds later I was greeted by the bartender. I ordered a chocolate shot and a double Expresso to start off. I'm not a big drinker so I do not know that much about mixing drinks etc. So I asked the bartender if I can drink a coffee along side the chocolate drink and she said yes, which gave me the impression that she was knowledgeable about drink combinations - this made me feel safe while I continued to order drinks. Also, my food came out pretty fast. I order the goat rice dinner and the mussel appetizer. The appetizer was delicious, the goat rice meal was okay. I definitely like the rice combination (it is mixed with nuts and spices), however, I felt like the goat meat wasn't tender enough. I like my goat meat to be so tender that it falls off the bone (oh yeah, the goat meat in the rice dinner is still on the bone - it mentions it on the menu). Despite the goat meat not being my type of tender, I am still giving 5/5 stars because I was treated well and the food stayed hot (in temperature) for a while, even after I let it sit for a few on top of the fact that I ordered dinner around 8/9 o'clock, which tells me the food wasn't just sitting and spoiling in the kitchen - hahaha. To add, I was greeted by two other staff members. One named Jonah, offered me a taste of a mango smoothie - it was a significant amount left over from another order and he didn't want to waste it so he asked me if I would like to try it - I thought this was a super sweet gesture and I took the offer. The smoothie was delicious! And the menua has a lot of vegetarian and some vegan options. Last but not least, before I left I ordered another drink. I wanted a chocolate smoothie but with alcohol. the bartender said they don't really have a drink like that on the menu but she can make it for me and I thanked her. I will post the picture below. The drink was delicious 👌🏾. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to try authentic Indian cuisine! NP
